Diablo 4 Sorceress class – the best stats, skills, and talents

Want to know about the Diablo 4 Sorceress? The Sorceress/Sorcerer has been in every Diablo game since the beginning of the series, and there's a good reason for that. Sure, playing as a Barbarian capable of wielding four weapons at once is pretty cool, but the Sorceress has mastered control over fire, ice, and lightning. Let's be honest, that is infinitely more impressive than being able to hold a sword and axe at the same time.

The Sorceress has always been a difficult class to master in the RPG game as her low health pool makes it difficult to stay alive in the heat of battle. If you learn how to control the elements, even the largest swarms of enemies become no match for the Sorceress. Given Blizzard's track record with the Diablo series, we can see Diablo 4 becoming one of the best PC games of the year. Here's everything you need to know about the Sorceress in Diablo 4.

Dodgy reseller listings aside, the Steam Deck has spent its entire life thus far without even a temporary price drop. That ends today, as the Steam Spring Sale has launched with the first official Steam Deck savings - a 10% cut across the range - alongside the more expected dealsplosion of discounted games.

What's more, this sale could also be the last time that the Steam Deck joins in a Steam sale, at least for a very long time. Lawrence Yang, a Valve designer who recently spoke to us about the Deck's first year in the wild, has also told me that the company are "looking at this as a one-time deal in celebration of Steam Deck's anniversary." You'll therefore have until March 23rd, when the Spring Sale ends, to seize a saving on the handheld PC before it returns to base pricing – maybe for good.

All three Steam Deck versions are part of the sale, shedding exactly 10% apiece. The 64GB model is down from £349 / $399 to £314.10 / $359.10, the 256GB model drops from £459 / $529 to £413.10 / $476.10, and the top 512GB model falls from £569 / $649 to £512.10 / $584.10. Unlike the sad old days of 2022, there's no lengthy waiting period once you put your order in, though I wouldn't be surprised if it takes the full two weeks of Valve's one-to-two week delivery estimate, what with the likely surge in demand.

I'm not a big fan of fighting for my survival while being chased by a horde of mutant cannibals in games, so I basically wrote off Sons Of The Forest as not really my thing and moved on with my life. Cut to a couple of weeks after release and I'm having an absolute whale of a time in Endnight Games' survival horror - and it's all thanks to sweet, succulent blueberries.

It all started when I learned that Sons Of The Forest has a peaceful mode, which completely removes all the gross, yucky cannibals, leaving you to grapple with survival in relative peace and quiet. The first time I met up with Kelvin and we got to work, casually making our shitty shelter and stick storage, I perused the guidebook to see what's next, and I spotted a planter. A planter? Okay, so I assume you can plant seeds and grow food, then? That's really co-WAIT, wait, wait. You're telling me this is basically a farming sim?

New music DLC is here for Theatrhythm Final Bar Line, and this The World Ends with You pack adds music from the original game and NEO TWEWY. It includes six songs total. Among them are some of the more notable and recognizable tracks, like "Calling" and "Twister." People can buy the pack alone for $4.49. It is also a part of the $14.99 season pass.

Here's the full list of songs available in the add-on. The song it originated in appears after the track.

  • "Breaking Free" from NEO TWEWY
  • "Calling" from TWEWY
  • "Someday" from TWEWY
  • "Twister" from TWEWY
  • "World is Yours" from NEO TWEWY
  • "Your Ocean" from NEO TWEWY

There's also a launch trailer for the Theatrhythm Final Bar Line DLC that shows some of the new songs being added to the overall list. In each case, the background is the Shibuya Scramble from TWEWY. It starts with "Someday," then moves on to "Breaking Free" and "World is Yours."

As a reminder, the first season pass volume gives people songs from Live a Live, NieR Automata, and SaGa Frontier as well. Square Enix hasn't said anything about a second volume yet.

Theatrhythm Final Bar Line is available for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, and the song list now includes a The World Ends with You music pack.

Carddass Mini

Bandai is celebrating the 35th anniversary of its "Carddass" card vending machine line. To commemorate the occasion, it opened pre-orders for a special set of Carddass Mini replica vending machines. The line consists of three specially designed machines based on Dragon Ball, SD Gundamand Battle Spirits cards. The machines are sold separately via the Premium Bandai website in Japan, and each costs 8,800 Yen (about $67 USD). [Thanks, Famitsu!]

The 35th Anniversary Carddass Mini machines are small, desktop-scale replicas of the original Carddass 20 machine. Each is decorated with art based on its series. Buyers actually need to put two 10 Yen coins (or two of the special 10 Yen-sized coins included in the set) in order to turn the handle and extrude a card. Each machine comes with a set of blank white cards. The cards can be decorated or used as the buyer wishes, such as for parties or fortune-telling.

[gallery size="medium" ids="955821,955822,955823" link="file"]

Each Carddass Mini machine also includes an exclusive card replicating a rare or popular card once served by the original device. The Dragon Ball machine includes a card showing Son Gohan learning the Kamehameha. The SD Gundam machine includes a card of the RX-93 ν Gundam. The Battle Spirits machine includes a copy of The DragonEmperor Siegfried, the game's very first X-Rare card.

[gallery size="medium" ids="955824,955825,955826" link="file"]

Bandai first created Carddass in 1988 with the "Carddass 20" machine. The name of the line was originally inspired by the AMeDAS, the Japan Meteorological Agency's weather data gathering system. Just as AMeDAS was a "source" of weather info, Bandai wanted its card vending system to be a source of character info. It also reworked the name into a portmanteau of the English "card" and the Japanese word "dasu" ("to put out"). The machines were used to sell trading and collectible cards akin to baseball cards overseas. They also sold cards for use in collectible card games, including Bandai's own Battle Spirits game.

The 35th Anniversary Carddass Mini machines are available for pre-order in Japan.

Aksys Switch Otome Game Winter's Wish: Spirits of Edo Launches in May

The next Aksys Switch otome game is upon us. It announced a release date for Winter's Wish: Spirits of Edo, which appeared in Japan as Kimi wa Yukima ni Koinegau. The visual novel will appear on the eShop on May 18, 2023. It also showed a teaser of the seven character art cards that will appear in the first-run physical copies.

First, here's the preliminary look at what the cards will look like. Each one features the character's official art and a chibi version of them set against their signature color. Their name appears at the bottom. The protagonist Suzuno appears on the top. Below her is the love interest Tomonari Takamura. If it follows that pattern, the remaining five cards should be the other romance options Kunitaka Tojo, Yoichi, Genjuro Kuga, Kinji, and Ohtaro.

ryugukoku metaverse

On Facebook, Hajime Tabata once again reiterated his interest in the Metaverse. This appeared after the announcement that several major Japanese corporations came together to work on Metaverse project Ryugukoku. He stated that this has been something that JP Games thought about ever since its creation. It will be a project in which users can coexist with corporations within a new-generation RPG (a Metaverse). [Thanks, Resetera!]

Tabata stated that he hopes for everyone's support as he continues to work on expanding the possibilities of games. As for Ryugukoku, it appears to be a combination of multiple Metaverse services. A flying castle of sorts would contain all the different Metaverses. As players would traverse through the various worlds, they would be able to experience a wide variety of content and services.

The second half of Tabata's explanation on Ryugukoku is as follows:

"Additionally, Ryugukoku (TBD) will deliver an open and secure Metaverse infrastructure that enables safe and stable use of identity authentication, various payments, data infrastructure, insurance, etc., through collaboration with leading Japanese financial institutions, major corporations, and TBT Lab Group. Furthermore, by providing this infrastructure to companies and government agencies outside of Japan, we will be able to expand the 'Japan Metaverse Economic Zone' globally."

Several major Japanese corporations, including Mitsubishi and Fujitsu, announced in late February 2023 that they would create an "open metaverse infrastructure from a role-playing game perspective." In other words, this is the Japanese Metaverse Economic Zone project that Tabata mentioned. TBT Lab, which Tabata is the representative of, was part of this agreement. An open Metaverse and social infrastructure would supposedly let people acquire personalized through a digital avatar.

The Ryugukoku Metaverse project is in development. Square Enix, which Tabata formerly worked at, is also interested in NFTs and the Metaverse, as shown with Symbiogenesis.

Oni Review Starting Area

The story of Momotaro is a famous one in Japanese folklore. It's the tale of the boy born from a peach who travelled to the demon land of Onigashima to fight the evil that lies there. However, history tends to be written by the victors, so we don't really get to hear how the oni felt about this boy and his animal friends arriving and slaughtering them all. Indie adventure title ONI: Road to Be the Mightiest Oni sets out to address this imbalance in the accepted narrative.

You play as Kuuta, an oni who travelled from his home of Onigashima to the island of Kisejima. This island is a training ground for oni, where they can gain power and strength if they can pass a series of trials. The challenges are not easy and many oni have fallen in their efforts, but Kuuta is determined to try.

The game begins as soon as Kuuta arrives on Kisejima. You are free to wander the island at your leisure, although wandering too far makes it clear that certain areas are blocked off by magic barriers that must be broken down. This is achieved by completing combat challenges that progressively unlock across the island. In these challenges, the perspective shifts, Kuuta throws off his backpack, and you beat down a series of enemies with your club.

Oni Review Combat

Combat is standard fare, with a single combo attack available to you. However, the game adds the conceit that enemies can only be truly defeated by destroying their souls. Souls will appear when an enemy is knocked out. If you fail to destroy them in time, they return to their body, undoing all your hard work. If you manage to knock out multiple enemies at once, Kuuta has access to a chain ability where he can zip around bashing souls in a ruthless combo.

Adding to the combat mechanics is Kuuta's ghost buddy Kazemaru, who you can control independently by holding down a shoulder button and moving the right stick. Kazemaru has the power to draw souls out of enemies, and later gains the ability to teleport Kuuta around and heal him.

The use of two characters in combat sounds complicated, and yet it works surprisingly well. Kuuta's simple combat mechanics coupled with all of Kazemaru's moves being tied to shoulder buttons mean it's easy to wrap your head around. Once you've gotten the hang of it, you can quickly find yourself in a vast field of souls waiting to be bonked. Activating the chain combo on huge numbers of souls at once is incredibly satisfying, always ending in a dramatic slow-motion zoom.

Oni Review Kuuta Kazemaru

When not in combat, Kisejima is free for you to explore, where you can take in the game's atmosphere at your leisure. Visually, ONI: Road to Be the Mightiest Oni is simple, yet effective. Character designs are expressive and charming, all coupled with some excellent animation. Kuuta running around the island on his little legs as he lugs all his possessions on his back is adorable. In cutscenes, he'll typically express himself with exaggerated movements and expressions that make him extremely likable. The environment is interesting too, with rolling hills and forests combined with magical floating rocks and other strange elements that add a lot of visual flair.

It's such a shame that there's so little to do in the exploration parts of the game. You can pick up collectibles, including mushrooms that act as currency, or diary entries from previous visitors to the island. You can also obtain spirits, which can increase your health if you can get them back to a save point without being taken out by aggressive oni. However, that's often all there is to find, and the game quickly falls into repetition as you find yourself picking these things up over and over again with no real variation.

Oni Review Combat

The combat being separated into its own pocket dimension adds to this feeling too, as you can't just stumble into a combat encounter while exploring. You have to deliberately enter it. Progression relies on completing these encounters, which also tend to recycle a lot of the same fight styles. The game does present a welcome break with a unique boss fight or two, but this is an occasional treat rather than the norm.

There are also times when combat encounters can feel dragged out with moments where you simply have to wait for an enemy to do something for you to respond to. One boss, for instance, turned invincible and ran around in circles a lot, while all I could do was watch and wait for it to eventually reveal its weak spot.

The repetitive feeling isn't helped by the soundtrack. There's nothing specifically wrong with the tracks themselves, it's just that they rarely belong to this game or they're used in a context where they quickly wear out their welcome. It often sounds like the Tetris Effect soundtrack got lost and wandered in by mistake. Now, I love the Tetris Effect soundtrack, but it suits trippy puzzle landscapes much better than it fits a series of combat encounters, and that's obvious here.

Oni Kuuta and Kanna

It's a real shame that ONI: Road to Be the Mightiest Oni is riddled with these problems, as there's clearly a lot of love and care that's been put into this game. The storyline is generally excellent, as Kuuta meets a human woman named Kanna wandering the island, unsure how she got there. They befriend each other despite the differences between humans and oni. These scenes are always delivered beautifully, with interesting visual effects using large text representing Kuuta's thoughts.

The game is definitely aiming to put an interesting new spin on an old familiar tale, and it mostly succeeds. It has a lot to say about the nature of struggle and hatred, sprinkled in as you explore Kisejima. Some of the notes left by previous fallen oni include simple everyday things like shopping lists, and small touches like this highlight the pain that this supposed legendary hero has caused. All this is then contrasted with Kanna, who is kind and friendly, and the opposite of how Kuuta has come to view humans.

ONI: Road to Be the Mightiest Oni is a messy, yet clearly heartfelt, experience. There is a lot that's worthwhile here, between the gorgeous visuals, interesting mechanics, and superb storytelling, you just have to wade through a lot of samey content to get to it all. Might be best experienced in short bursts.

ONI: Road to Be the Mightiest Oni is available for Nintendo Switch, PC and PlayStation 4 and 5.

The three cryptids the Splatfest is asking players to debate are the Loch Ness Monster ("Nessie"), aliens and Bigfoot. As always, each member of Deep Cut will be representing a team, with Shiver repping Nessie, Frye arguing for aliens, and Big Man appropriately standing for Bigfoot.

There was also a Splatfest prior to the release of the game, released as a time limited demo, the Splatoon 3 World Premiere. The theme of that Splatfest was rock-paper-scissors.

tales of asteria end

After around nine years, Tales of Asteria will end service on May 18, 2023. However, Bandai Namco will release items such as a memorial book for players to keep their memories of the game alive. In addition, Tales of Asteria players who also play Tales of the Rays, or those who will move onto that game, will also be able to transfer some data over. [Thanks, Inside!]

Bandai Namco has not stated the reason behind why Tales of Asteria will end. In the tweet announcing it, it thanked the fans for their long years of support and playing since 2014. Because the game went on for so long, the staff came up with several ways to immortalize it. It will release a memorial book, stream music from the game, and allow you to put illustrations from Astaria as your home window in The Rays. You will have until June 19, 2023 to transfer your data to The Rays.

As for the memorial book, it will cost 8,000 JPY ($60.20). The Asobi Store version will cost 9,800 ($73.80) JPY. It contains full illustrations of characters 4-star and above, with some exceptions. The Asobi Store version will come with a 160-page book of the costume designs. The memorial book, which is B5-size, will have 540 pages. Pre-orders are open until June 25, 2023 and the book will ship out after Summer 2023.

Tales of Asteria is a turn-based mobile game focusing on characters from the Tales series. Unlike ones such as Tales of the Rays, it mostly centers on established characters. Like the Radiant Mythology games, they have different backgrounds from their canon ones. This is so that them all sharing the same universe feels natural. Each chapter focuses on separate key characters, and you can choose whose POV you wish to experience the story from. The current story will conclude at the end of April 2023 and the Finale Scenario will start from May.

Tales of Asteria will end on May 18, 2023. Until then, it is available on mobile devices in Japan.

Stranger of Paradise Steam Release and Price Drop Announced

A Square Enix game's Epic Games Store exclusivity is about to end. The company announced Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is coming PCs via Steam at the same time as a price drop across all platforms. The new price for the game, which was originally $59.99, hasn't been announced as of 10am ET on March 16, 2023. However, the Steam version will debut on April 6, 2023.

Here's the official announcement, which is accompanied by a new trailer. As a reminder, this is an alternate take on the original Final Fantasy story, with Jack and his allies setting off to defeat Chaos. Rather than a turn-based RPG, it is more like a Soulslike. Jack is able to take on different classes to augment his abilities.

Note that if you're unfamiliar with the game, there will be spoilers in the new video below. It doesn't mention the new Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin price either.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. Tetsuya Nomura previously discussed the possibility of a sequel.

The Final Fantasy XIV: Eorzea Academy manga will get an English localization. Square Enix announced it will release the title outside Japan on September 19, 2023. There's no exact release date yet for the alternate reality tale. However, the company did share a teaser for the cover art, which shows the twins Alisaie and Alphinaud Leveilleur in their school uniforms. It isn't the final art, however, as it is essentially the Japanese one.

For those unfamiliar, the Final Fantasy XIV: Eorzea Academy manga is set in an alternate reality. In it, the Scions of the Seventh Dawn and other major characters are all students and teachers at a high school. They go through more slice-of-life sorts of affairs, though their personalities tend to remain intact from the MMORPG. However, there's some conflict, as the new academy ended up merging the Academy of Light and the Academy of Darkness students together with the expectation everyone would get along.

The manga first started to appear in December 2021 in Japan. Back in December 2022, Square Enix announced the chapters would be collected in a physical volume. That launched in Japan in February 2023.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC. The Final Fantasy XIV: Eorzea Academy manga will appear in English in September 2023.
