You sally forth into the depths with sword and shield, slaughter a bunch of blameless goblins, then orbit triumphantly back to the village square with its 24/7 forge and bustling adventurer's guild. Then off you go, once again, with a Sword +1 and a shield now bearing a Goblin Magnet. Much like how the Future Market Trailblaze Continuance showed life on Jarilo-VI following the events with Cocolia, Sojourners' Ghastly Reverie in Honkai: Star Rail deals with the aftermath of the events of the Xianzhou Luofu. However, though it does a good job at introducing Huohuo and the other members of the Ten Lords Commission, it suffers from some similar issues to the Luofu's main story.
Before we begin, I'd like to say that this article will contain spoilers for the Sojourners' Ghastly Reverie Trailblaze Continuance. The plot follows what happened early on in the Xianzhou Luofu arc, after the Ambrosial Arbor messed up the Creation Furnace. Apparently, an elemental being known as a heliobus was the one inside of the Creation Furnace and powering it up. But it escaped after the events of Version 1.0. Meanwhile, the Trailblazer and Guinaifen are looking for ghosts in the Fyxestroll Garden area of the Luofu. That's when they meet with Xueyi, Hanya, and Huohuo. Though the judges try to escort them out, a heliobus traps them inside of a maze, with its ultimate goal being revenge (of sorts) against the Xianzhou.
While I enjoyed the Trailblaze Continuance adding on to the established lore of the Xianzhou Luofu, it did not feel like an epilogue in the way that Future Market did. That's honestly fine, since it's not as if we're wrapping up loose ends or anything yet in the story. But something about Sojourners' Ghastly Reverie felt off to me. Future Market made it very easy to care about what was going on because of how many familiar faces were in the story. In comparison, only Guinaifen and Xueyi are characters we've seen before and we hardly know them. Xueyi doesn't even play that major a role in the story. So it feels a lot like the Trailblaze Continuance exists to try and advertise Huohuo, who is the pick-up character in the gacha.
Topaz debuted as a playable character in the same patch as Future Market, so of course she had an important role in the story. However, she arguably still took a bit of a back seat to Bronya. Huohuo is surprisingly a very fun character and the Trailblazer has a lot of personality for a silent protagonist. But, like with what happened in Future Market, I would've liked another established character to help integrate Huohuo and the other judges. Call me cynical but the heavy focus on them made it impossible to think about anything other than how these three characters are either currently in the gacha, or are coming up soon. In fact, since we barely know Xueyi anyway, I felt like Hanya could have taken Xueyi's role in the story. Hanya's the one who's going to be in the latter half of Version 1.5, after all.
This isn't to say that I didn't enjoy Sojourner's Ghastly Reverie. I enjoyed seeing Huohuo's bizarre friendship with Tail, as well as how it subverts your expectation of how HoYoVerse usually handles character death. I did legitimately think that Tail would come back all "Surprise!" so it was nice to see him gone for real. I haven't actually played the "A Foxian Tale of the Haunted" event yet so he'll probably come back there. After all, it would be bizarre to remove a major aspect of Huohuo's character so soon after meeting her.
There was something very odd about the Xianzhou Luofu's story when compared to the Jarilo-VI one. It felt disjointed and suffered from odd pacing. While pacing isn't really an issue for Sojourner's Ghastly Reverie since it was only about an hour and a half long, it felt like a completely separate story from the Luofu arc. Future Market followed up on the immediate aftermath. Meanwhile, Sojourner's Ghastly Reverie picks up from something that happened in Version 1.0. That's probably why it feels so weird, especially since it feels like so much time has passed. Hopefully, the story for other Xianzhou ships or worlds can be closer to the writing for Jarilo-VI.

U-Treasure opened a new wave of pre-orders for its Tales of Arise-themed necklaces. The Japanese jewelry store first revealed the necklaces in December 2021, following the original game's release in September 2021. It re-opened the pre-orders to help celebrate the release of the Beyond the Dawn story expansion DLC on November 9, 2023.
The necklaces are modeled after the six playable party members in Tales of Arise, and they are available in two material types: Silver and K18 Gold. All six silver necklaces have the same price tag of ¥14,300 (~$95). Alphen, Shionne, and Dohalim's gold necklaces are priced at ¥88,000 (~$588). Rinwell, Law, and Kisara's gold necklaces will cost even more at ¥110,000 (~$735).
People residing outside Japan and Europe can also place orders for any necklace in the lineup with international shipping via the WorldShipping widget. On the specific item's page, they can click the "Add to Cart" button from the widget instead of the original Japanese page. WorldShopping also has a ¥500 discount coupon that is valid until November 30, 2023.
Pre-orders for the new batch of Tales of Arise necklaces will close on January 4, 2024. U-Treasure will start shipping the finished products on May 7, 2024.

Nihon Falcom and Userjoy Technology announced the Japanese release date for The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel - Northern War mobile game. People will be able to start playing the game on iOS and Android devices on December 6, 2023. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]
The Northern War mobile game will feature RPG-style explorations where players traverse through dungeons as they fight monsters and unlock passages to reach the next areas. The game will also feature a randomly generated dungeon in the Trial Forest that includes spots for enhancing stats and lending additional characters.
In the same press release, Userjoy announced the opening of the mobile game's Japanese Discord server. It also confirmed that all players will be able to recruit Crossbell's Elie MacDowell as an SSR-grade character as the game has surpassed 500,000 pre-registrations.
Trails of Cold Steel - Northern War originally appeared as an anime show that aired worldwide in 2023. Userjoy then announced that it would release a mobile game adaptation of the title later in the same year.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel - Northern War will be available as a free-to-play game for iOS and Android mobile devices in Japan on December 6, 2023.

Rio Company revealed Jujutsu Kaisen Typing: Jutsuda, an educational typing game for PCs. It will release physical copies of the game in December 2023 in Japan for ￥5,280 (~$35).
The company is designing the game to support the typing skills of students from elementary schools to high schools while including content from the first anime season of Jujutsu Kaisen. The game will have six battle stages with attack efficiencies being determined by the player's typing speed and skills. It will also include a tutorial stage where Satoru Gojo teaches beginners the correct way to type on a keyboard.
The typing game will feature three types of question words. The first one will require players to type the romaji input for 2,500 kanji words taken from grades 10 to 2 of the Japan Kanji Aptitude Test. The second mode will feature English words and idioms that are also taught in high schools in Japan. The third and last mode will include programming terms from the IchigoJam Basic language used in Japanese schools.
The PC typing game will be compatible with Windows 10 / MacOS 10.15 and newer operating systems. The Windows version will require a 6th-generation Intel Core i3 as the minimum CPU. Players must also use a physical keyboard and mouse, as the game will not support touch panels.
Jujutsu Kaisen Typing: Jutsuda will be available for Windows and Mac PCs on December 8, 2023.

Sometimes, you want entirely new experiences or even activities from a game expansion. With Black Salt Games' Dredge The Pale Reach DLC, the team offers exactly what anyone savoring the game would want, and that's more of what makes this haunting fishing adventure what it is.
The Pale Reach in Dredge is simple enough to start, and you can essentially head to the new location at any point. It's at the southern most part of the map, marked with red ink. I recommend visiting after heading to at least Gale Cliffs, but anything works. (That happened to be where I was in my replay when I began the expansion.) Upon arriving, you'll find a Traveling Merchant already set up shop. Talking to the NPC prompts hints about the ice field, as well as the ruins nearby and the promise of an icebreaker that could grant access to additional locations in the region.
What I love first and foremost about this add-on is the sense of purpose it provides. Once I got there and learned I'd need to construct the icebreaker and purchase the new Ice type equipment like the Barbed Ice Rod and Brittle Trawl Net, I felt a renewed desire to get back to fishing. I'd taken an extended pause, due to other games and already earning an ending I found satisfying. Knowing I had a reason to start heading out to the ocean again invigorated me. Plus, knowing there were almost 20 types of new fish and creatures to find in the water drove me onward so I could see it all.
Not to mention there are the new pursuits. I appreciated that each one of these new missions involved worthwhile rewards, but sometimes weren't always ominous. I mean, while the Narwhal is an intimidating figure, the pursuit tied to it starts out in something of an innocent way. Trickling out so each one unlocks more, be it access to new areas of The Pale Reach in Dredge to new equipment, it felt like I was mostly earning access or things I'd actually use. The only exception was the ability to get Ice Blocks from the merchant. Freshness never really ended up being an issue for me in the base game or this expansion, so it was sort of… there.
I will admit that The Pale Reach did leave me wanting, but not because there isn't enough new content for Dredge in it. Rather, it's because I suppose the full game spoiled me a bit. There was so much lore packed into it, if you took the time to explore, and I really appreciated some of the threatening beings that would haunt the waters. I'd have appreciated more of those insights here, as well as the threats. What's here is a good taste and builds slightly on existing elements. Just extra insight and forboding moments would have made a good time even better.
Essentially, The Pale Reach is what I wanted from a first major Dredge add-on, and it makes me excited about The Iron Rig DLC coming in 2024. There's a bit of a new story, a good array of new fish, extra equipment to earn, and the ability to journey to the new region at any time during a playthrough, and it all fits in well basically anytime in your current adventure. While I might have liked a little more lore or ominous opponents, this DLC makes for some more solid seafaring sessions.
Dredge and its The Pale Reach DLC are available on the PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.

Square Enix announced that a new Final Fantasy VII Rebirth merchandise lottery will be held in Japan. There are eight different prices, and each entry in the lottery costs 880 yen (or about $6).
Lottery tickets will be available for purchase at Lawson convenience stores, as well as Square Enix official stores throughout Japan, starting in March 2, 2024. The new FFVII Rebirth merchandise will also be available from the start date of the lottery.
The full lineup of prizes for the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Rebirth merchandise lottery is available below. There are currently no other details or images of the prizes.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will come to the PlayStation 5 on February 24, 2024, and the exclusivity arrangement will end on May 29, 2024. The new FFVII Rebirth lottery will start in Japan on March 2, 2024. FFVII Remake, the first part of the remake trilogy, is immediately available for the PS4, PS5, and PC.

Bandai Namco revealed a new Crossing Pilot event between Rebuild of Evangelion and Getter Robo Armageddon in Super Robot Wars DD. Asuka Shikinami Langley piloting the Shin Getter 1 will be the main highlight of this crossover event.
The event's short story will also show Shinji Ikari and Rei Ayanami piloting the other two robots that constitute the Shin Getter. However, the game will so far only feature Asuka Shikinami Langley in the Shin Getter 1 as a playable unit. In addition to using the Getter Tomahawk, Asuka will also be able to connect the Positron Rifle originally used in Operation Yashima to Shin Getter's core.
Bandai Namco has also uploaded a standalone version of the crossover trailer on its YouTube channel:
Crossing Pilot is a series of crossover events in Super Robot Wars DD that feature existing characters piloting robots from an entirely different title. The series started with Gundam's Amuro Ray piloting the Mazinger Z, and it also featured The Lord of Elemental's Masaki Andoh in the Billbine from Aura Battler Dunbine. Bandai Namco also produced new original mechs for the crossovers, such as the Wing Gundam Zero Rebellion for Code Geass' Lelouch "Zero" Lamperouge and a custom-colored Scopedog from Armored Trooper Votoms for SPT Layzner's Albatro Null Eiji Asuka.
Super Robot Wars DD is available as a free-to-play game on iOS and Android mobile devices in Japan and East Asia.

All of the characters in the Persona 5 games are pretty great in their own ways, and in the past I'd always considered folks like Makoto and Goro to be my favorites. However, as I went through Persona 5 Tactica, I kept coming back to Haru and realized how in so many situations, she was the absolute best.
Simply put, the range of abilities Haru possesses makes her one of the best characters in Persona 5 Tactica. In so many ways, Haru shows herself to be an absolutely exemplary party member. To start, her guns have a fantastic area of effect attack due to them being grenade launchers. (This is the same type she uses in the mainline games.) So when she's hitting foes, she has the potential to deal a substantial amount of damage to a whole horde.
This is further bolstered by the buff she provides to the team when she's around. She's one of the folks who provides an attack boost. She has an additional two upgrades to this in her tree, making her and everyone else around more devastating.
Pair this with Milady's Psi attacks, which have the Hypno effect, and it really makes Haru one of the most valuable team members. Investing heavily in the Mapsi line is great, since the status effect forces a group of foes out of cover and closer together. While that might not line up a One More for her, it does set things up well for her allies. All combined, it means she's a fantastic person for any map where the goal is to defeat every enemy. Her Voltage attack with her Persona also features this same sort of ability, even with the lowest level Noble Lady's Invitation.
But it isn't just the fact that she's good at dealing damage to a group, potentially getting lots of enemies out of cover at once, and increasing all allies' damage just by existing. She's one of the party members who can heal others. The first healing skill you can unlock is Diamrita, which is a substantial heal and cleanse for a single ally. While it isn't going to hit a group, it's a perfect saving grace in many situations.
There's only one way in which Haru fell behind the other Phantom Thieves. Her movement is one of the lowest in the game. She's set at four, just behind Ann with five. Considering others tend to have six, it's a noticeable weakness! However, it's really only a problem in the case of maps involving reaching a specific point by X number of turns. That lower movement speed gets a bit frustrating there unless you can work out One-Mores, and it's easy enough to just… let her sit that fight out. Not to mention she does have a Lightning Speed passive that will boost that by two squares when she's in a Charged state. Plus if you upgrade so she gets the Spring Storm passive, that increases her ranged attack's range to help mitigate that too.
Haru is just a fantastic character for players to use in Persona 5 Tactica, and she's one of the best allies. She works in pretty much any party. She's also great in most situations. As long as you don't need to get her from one end of a map to another fast, it feels like she should be a staple.

Back in September 2023, Jazwares and The Pokemon Company International teased Clefary and Teddiursa Squishmallow plush, and now they debuted on Black Friday. Both are only available in the official Pokemon Center storefront for now.
While the pre-orders are live on Black Friday 2023, it will be a while before either Squishmallow will appear. Both have a mid-January 2024 release window. People won't be charged the $29.99 fee until either one ships. Both of them cost the same price.
Both of them also are the same size and have the same special features. They stand at 12 inches tall. As these are the official Pokemon Center release of the toys, there is a Poke Ball patch on the right side of their back and they feature a special hang tag. When they release at other retailers following the Pokemon Center debut, they will not have the patch and could appear in different sizes.
Here's a closer look at both the Clefairy and Teddiursa Pokemon Squishmallow plush. The Teddiursa has the distinctive moon on its forehead, as well as puffy tail and big ears. The Clefairy Squishmallow has its small wings and curled tail on the back.
Pre-orders for both plush are now open. They are expected to appear in January 2024. A retail release will likely happen after. They join other entries in the collection like Piplup and Winking Pikachu.

I loved finding the various guns and melee weapons hidden around the maps and seeing what kind of hell they unleashed. Which weapons should you be using in Remnant 2? I played through Remnant 2 and found myself returning time and time again to certain weapons. As much as I loved using the wide variety laid out for me, some were just clearly superior. Blackmaw AR-47 PC Invasion When I originally played Remnant 2, I got myself equipped with the Bonesaw and pretty much ran with that gun for almost the whole game.
