Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess New Deep Dive Trailer Appears

Capcom revealed a new Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess in-depth gameplay trailer during Day 1 of the Capcom Highlights broadcasts. The game mixes character action and real-time strategy elements with a unique Japanese aesthetic.

Kunitsu-Gami is set on Mount Kafuku, a blessed land that is defiled by a mysterious black substance. This defilement is stealing masks containing the guardian Goddess' powers, and it is up to protagonist Soh and Maiden Yoshiro to rescue the villagers of the land and purify each village.

Gameplay in Kunitsu-Gami is divided between day sections, where Soh guides Yoshiro to torii gates that need to be purified, rescues villagers, and builds contraptions used to fight enemies called the Seethe. At night, foes spawn and try to interrupt Maiden Yoshiro's purifying ritual.

Villagers can be positioned around the field to help fight back the Seethe. Woodcutter, Archer, and Ascetic are three of the villager types shown, and they excel at close range, long range, and casting spells respectively. A Spearman villager was briefly shown as well.
