"It's a wholesome pursuit of game design knowledge!" I stammer, as the guards approach. "It gives me a greater appreciation for the obscure details lurking in the hidden corners of virtual cities!" I protest, as I'm clapped in chains after being caught staring through a blacksmiths window for four hours watching him eat the same heel of bread, rubbing my hands together and grinning manically. Imagine my glee, then, when an early quest in action RPG Dragon's Dogma 2 not only condoned my weird hobby, but actively encouraged it. Alfred is bardic beggar you'll likely first encounter in Vernworth's city square water feature. He's doing a spot of medieval busking, spinning some brilliantly localized rhyming yarns to whoever will listen. He also periodically asks for beer money, even if you think he's shit, which is a great pitch. Onlookers come and go, but after listening to him gas up the nobility with tall tales for a spell, you'll likely spot a particularly enthusiastic permanent fixture off to the side. Have a chat, and he'll tell you he reckons there's something fishy about Alfred. He never sees much patronage from busking, but he never seems short of coin. Follow him around for a bit and see how he makes his money, won't you? My annoyance that I'd just given Alfred several hundred gold immediately dissipated at the prospect of some quest journal-sanctioned stalking. |

Besides being a sumptuous, endlessly satisfying sci-fi romp with one of the prettiest open worlds in gaming, it's also a very respectable porting job, with stable performance that scales well on aged PC hardware all the way up to glistening 4K rigs. There are some imperfections, but generally, this shouldn't be a repeat of Horizon Zero Dawn's need for a post-launch patch regimen. On all the hardware I've tested, Forbidden West looks good to go, especially when choosing the right settings can smooth out performance even more. |

You do have to look for it, mind you. The game's art direction at large is an elegant hodgepodge of inspirations that deserves to be unpicked carefully after release. Main character Nor Vanek - who is on a mission to massacre various escaped underworld gods - is kind of a Napoleonic superhero. Rakishly attired in braided frock coats and knee-high boots, she can use sparking "blackpowder" pistols both to inflict damage and to double-jump or dodge while performing snappily choreographed, one-handed sword and axe combos, straight out of God of War. As regards locations, there are pale medieval citadels with stained-glass windows, coffee shops run by eerie, many-armed "Hosts" that glean from the ambience of Turkish bazaars, and certain other fantastical areas and characters - including Nor's spectral fox sidekick Enki - that are influenced by ancient Mesopotamian mythology. |

Nursing that constant flow of foot traffic, produce and profits, all of them teetering on a carefully honed knife-edge, that's the good stuff right there. Of course, it's not always the threat of imminent and total collapse that fuels these mighty engines of urban planning. Sometimes it's the simple pleasure of building itself, watching a scrub of dirt track rise up into an advanced superhighway of architectural wonder. The best of these more relaxed kinds of citybuilders - your Dorfromantiks and your SteamWorld Builds et al - still involve plenty of plate-spinning; it's just that they won't ever fall over if you take your eye off the ball for a moment. Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles sits at the citybuilding crossroads of 'relaxed' and 'something more'. But it also gets more bogged down in the minutiae of resource flow, worker management and conquest and expansion via muddy, ill-defined combat procedures than it probably should. SuperGroupies revealed a new lineup of merchandise inspired by the Hololive English Vtuber Gawr Gura. The brand also opened pre-orders for the new products on both its Japanese and American web stores.
The main lineup will consist of three items. The watch and pullover jacket will have the same price tags of ¥25,300 / $230. Meanwhile, the backpack bag will cost slightly less at ¥20,900 / $190.
SuperGroupies also shared images that show how it used elements from Gawr Gura's attire on each item:
In addition, SuperGroupies will also sell acrylic stands with Gawr Gura's autograph and a new illustration of the character by the illustrator Sakura for ¥2,750 / $25. The illustration will also appear on clear files that SuperGroupies will hand out for free with every purchase of the watch, jacket, or backpack.
Gawr Gura is the most popular Vtuber in the world, with over 4.45 million subscribers registered on her YouTube channel as of late March 2024. Even though she comes from the Hololive English branch, Gura has also been involved in tourism promotions in Japan. A recent example took place at the Sendai Umino-Mori Aquarium in early 2024.
SuperGroupies will close the pre-order window for its Gawr Gura-themed merchandise on April 14, 2024, at 8 PM PT / 11 PM ET. The company will ship the finished products in Japan between August and October 2024, and in North America in early December 2024.

Eric "Concerned Ape" Barone noted on social media that work will begin on Haunted Chocolatier again once the Stardew Valley 1.6 patch is available on consoles and mobile devices. The developer also mentioned being "eager to get back to work on it."
Here is the exact statement, which mentioned the reason for the current pause in work on the next title.
Haunted Chocolatier was first announced back in October 2021. Barone announced a break in its development in April 2023 to prepare 1.6 for Stardew Valley.
Barone also explained why there is a delay between the Stardew Valley 1.6 patch showing up on consoles, PCs, and mobile devices in another reply. The developer cited how quickly PC patches can be released compared to ones for consoles, due to certification and verification processes. Finishing and perfecting the patch for that platform can make subsequent ones' roll out stronger.
Said quick patches are coming out rather frequently for the PC. For example, 1.6.2 is already available for PCs, and Barone has been discussing 1.6.3 on social media.
Stardew Valley is available for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PCs, mobile devices, and the PlayStation Vita. Haunted Chocolatier is in development for PCs.

Ahead of her playable debut, HoYoVerse released yet another trailer for Acheron, who will be a new character in Honkai: Star Rail. The trailer, which is almost three minutes long, alternates between different styles of animation.

It is also available in Japanese, Mandarin, and Korean.
The trailer shows Acheron fighting off against multiple illusions of the Stellaron Hunters, courtesy of Sparkle. Scenes of the fight (in 3D animation) are interspersed with 2D animations of what looks like Raiden Mei putting on her make-up. Like in her Myriad Celestia trailer, the "Your Color" trailer seems to reference Honkai Impact 3rd.
Acheron will debut in the first phase of the upcoming Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.1 banner. Luocha will also make his re-run then. As a reminder, Acheron will be a 5-star Lightning Nihility who will act as your DPS, while Luocha is a 5-star Imaginary Abundance character who is one of the best sustain units in the game. Other characters who will have rate-ups during these banners are Dan Heng, Pela, and Gallagher. Gallagher will also be one of the new characters, and he'll be a 4-star Fire Abundance.
Honkai: Star Rail is readily available for the PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices.

Square Enix will rerelease acrylic stands of the characters from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. They cost 1,430 JPY ($9.45) each, and will come out again on April 20, 2024.
Each of the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth acrylic stands there cost $14.99. In total, there are eleven variations. You can get acrylic stands of:
In other words, you can get acrylic stands of all the major characters. Each stand will come with the character standing, as well as a portrait of them behind them. The North American Square Enix store suggests that you can place these in your room or your office so that you can always have your favorite character with you.
These items are also available in the North American Square Enix store. However, many of them are immediately available and don't involve any wait.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the direct sequel of Final Fantasy VII Remake. Like the first game of the trilogy, it is not a completely faithful retelling of the original game. For example, some optional characters are now part of the main story, as well as new additions to the story, such as the addition of Whispers.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is readily available for the PS5. The console exclusivity arrangement will end on May 29, 2024. These acrylic stands of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth characters will come out again on April 20, 2024.

Bandai Namco announced that LLENN and Fukaziroh from SAO Alternative: Gun Gale Online will appear in the upcoming Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream. A new gameplay trailer showcased both characters in combat.
The trailer also revealed that LLENN is a high mobility shooter that specializes in close and medium-range combat. She will be of the Rogue class. Meanwhile, Fukaziroh is a grenadier with great adaptability that can offer carpet bombing and support fire, and she will be a Ranger.

Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream is currently in development for the Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC via Steam and will appear sometime on 2024.

The archive for the Rosemi Lovelock 3D debut is now available on YouTube again. This stream originally happened on March 22, 2024.
Shortly after the original stream on March 22, 2024, some people noticed that many countries had blocked the debut, making it impossible to watch. Even those living in Japan could not watch it. In a Reddit post about this, many people joked about having to wait months on end for Anycolor to do anything about it. According to Rosemi's tweet on March 22, 2024, this was due to automatic song copyrights in the stream, which caused the ban.

The stream is close to an hour long. Other Nijisanji VTubers who appeared in her 3D debut stream include Petra Gurin, Meloco Kyoran, and Elira Pendora, as well as Ange Viera from the JP side of things. Aside from a concert, Rosemi also showed off her model by racing her fellow VTubers, as well as playing Twister.
According to comments from the CEO of Anycolor, there will be changes to how the company runs the EN side of Nijisanji. This includes more content that involves multiple streamers, as well as more 3D debuts. We may be seeing other Nijisanji EN livers hold 3D debut streams later on in the year.

For the 50th anniversary of Hello Kitty, Sanrio will collaborate with Uniqlo to release retro pieces of clothing based off popular mascots. Aside from Hello Kitty, you'll be able to get items featuring My Melody, Cinnamoroll, and Kuromi.
The non-Hello Kitty Sanrio mascots all dress up like her in the Uniqlo shirts and pants. They have all her signature red ribbon, as well as a pair of blue overalls. Even their pose takes from Hello Kitty, in which she's sitting down and turning her head to the side to face the audience. The T-shirts and the pants cost 1500 JPY ($9.90) each. Like most Uniqlo collaborations, the Hello Kitty 50th anniversary collection is available in stores outside of Japan as well. The shirts cost $24.90. Stores outside of Japan do not seem to have the pants, though.
These clothing items are not the first pieces of merchandise that you can purchase for the 50th anniversary of Hello Kitty. Lotte will release an apple pie flavored Koala's March, as part of its own celebration of the snack's 40th anniversary. Kurotani announced a pure gold figure of Hello Kitty, and Crocs offered several different styles of shoes that take after the cat's design. Sanrio itself started releasing items such as purses and dolls in November 2023.
The Uniqlo 50th anniversary collection of Hello Kitty clothing items are available in physical and online stores.

Capcom has opened pre-orders for its upcoming Monster Hunter figure of Khezu. It will be part of the Capcom Figure Builder Creators' Model series. The figure will be available in Japan in mid-October 2024 with a price tag of 16,500 yen (~$109).
The figure set will have an overall height and depth of 195mm (~7.68in), as well as an overall width of 175mm (~6.89in). It will also feature a Kelbi that will appear as prey attempting to flee Khezu's attack. The static figure will have no movable parts. But depending on the view angle, Khezu's mouth may appear to reach the Kelbi.

Khezu is a series recurring monster that has appeared since the first-ever Monster Hunter game came out on PlayStation 2 in 2004. Capcom has also been releasing plushes based on the same monster, ranging from round chibi plushes to the Tsum Tsum-like Capcorom.
The Capcom Figure Builder Creators' Model figure of Khezu from the Monster Hunter series will be formally available on October 17, 2024.
