Helldivers 2 is a very good third-person online co-op sci-fi shooter. Like, really good. But, it's not the most stable game, with many players (myself included) failing missions simply because the game has crashed. And now, players are learning that snowballs can lead to some of these far-too-frequent crashes.

Get ten of the most loved sandbox and FPS games for $1 each

We're spoiled for open-world games. In the last few months alone, we've had everything from Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth to Dragon's Dogma 2 and Horizon Forbidden West hit PC. And yet, there's a long history of the genre well worth looking back on, which makes a new collection of notable sandbox and FPS games from Humble Bundle enticing — especially since all ten of the games included in the heavily discounted bundle, stretching from the first Red Faction to Saints Row IV, are only $1 USD each.

CDPR has ten times more devs on The Witcher 4 than Cyberpunk's sequel

After following the tumultuous path that led from Cyberpunk 2077's initial launch to its current, much improved state, many players eager to see what's next from creator CD Projekt Red may be more interested in seeing the company return to the world of The Witcher than Cyberpunk's dystopian future. That segment of the audience seems to be in luck, as new information from CDPR detailing how it's allocating its resources across multiple projects show that The Witcher 4 has ten times the number of people working on it than the next Cyberpunk.

Baldur's Gate 3 runs surprisingly well on this Arm laptop

It's easy to get lost in the world of high-end hardware, but sometimes it's far more impressive to see a game on a system on which it has no business running. Such is the case with the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite Arm laptop chip, which was recently demonstrated running Baldur's Gate 3 at 1080p, with a frame rate of 30fps.

While no serious PC gamers will be giving up their best graphics card and x86 gaming CPU in favor of this emulation tech right now, it's still a marvel to see in action and will certainly have an audience. It's hard to believe that Sid Meier's original, groundbreaking Civilization is more than 30 years old.      Astounding new RTS game is like Command and Conquer with a big twist

Command and Conquer is a masterpiece in brutal, dehumanizing warfare. Tanks roll off the production line, uniform infantry units pour from the barracks, and you send them all off to fight and get slaughtered in huge amorphous waves. The value of a single life in Westwood's genre-defining opus is basically zero. You are an omniscient, usually malevolent deity of war, killing and causing people to be killed with cold indifference. A new RTS game, built in Unreal Engine 5, takes this brutal satire to a new level. If you're hyped for Homeworld 3 or hoping for another C&C game, this is a vibrant new rival, and PCGamesN went hands-on at this year's Game Developers Conference.

A regular rogue's gallery of independent game developers - including the makers of Dead Cells, Slay The Spire, Darkest Dungeon, Spiritfarer, Terraria and V Rising - have clubbed together to run their own videogame showcase: the Triple-I Initiative. Initially screening on 10th April, it'll be a 45-minute, unhosted, back-to-back series of trailers, reveals and surprise game or demo releases, designed (as per the press release) "to highlight fan-favorite games and hype up established indie classics as well as new IPs". It could become a yearly thing, but that'll obviously depend on how well the first showcase goes down.

According to a few of the organisers, the IIIIs - as they shall now and forever be known - reflect a high level of anxiety even among more established indie teams about finding an audience, together with a feeling that they aren't being served by existing showcases like the Geoffies, with their blockbuster headliners, celebrity cameos and extended Kojima soliloquies.

You wouldn't believe how long I've been bumping Command & Conquer Generals down the list because "but it's abandonware and a pain in the hole to run" makes for a more frustrating read than "and it's available here".

Ever the afterthought, Generals has shimmered between abandonware and temporarily available in some obscure place with no fanfare (I think? I honestly lost track) for years, but it's now available in a bundle on Steam as part of whatever needlessly awkward thing EA are doing this month. There's suddenly an opportunity to get into why its design and atmosphere make it probably my favourite of the whole collection, and why I wish I could say that without adding that it indulges in a lot of boring early-00s racism.

This isn't a formal announcement as much as a businessblast to hype shareholders, so it didn't have anything specific to say about what Gearbox are up to with their wildly popular and deeply unfunny looter shooter series. It had seemed curious that the much-delayed Borderlands movie was coming out five years after the latest main series game and with no new one in sight.

This feels doubly important when the game itself is so fleeting in length, its brief and dizzying journey through the dirt, magma, ice and marshy bogs of this strange, treasure-stuffed island coming to a swift conclusion in just over three and a half hours. It left me wanting more the moment the credits rolled, but deep down I know it's also perfectly formed just the way it is. Rather than outstay its welcome, Pepper Grinder shows up, performs its party trick, then gets the hell out of the way, leaving you to bask in the warm glow of a good game well done.

A month ago Arrowhead's CEO revealed the existence of Joel (technically J.O.E.L., in game), a game master running the galactic battle of Helldivers 2. A human being who gets up in the middle of the night to throw more robots at players if they're doing too well. We at the RPS Electronic Wireless Show podcast think this is a good thing, in broad terms, and we discuss why (but also hope Joel is allowed holidays), as well as the response the community of players has had, which is also very interesting. Plus a straw poll indicates that only one of us would enjoy be at the middle of a maelstrom of chaos and being the Helldivers GM as a job. Bet you can absolutely guess which one of us it was.

You know me and Soulslikes. We're not particularly best buddies most of the time. We've had a couple of successful outings over the years with the likes of Death's Door and Hollow Knight and company, but anything with pure FromSoft blood running through its veins has always left me cold. Void Sols, however, is an upcoming Soulslike that feels like it might be able to satisfy both sides of the 'git gud' camp, appealing to nervous dodge-rollers like myself while also giving hardened Elden Ringers a run for their money. It's all down to its plentiful supply of approachable customisation options, allowing you to ratchet up the difficulty if you're finding things a bit easy, or knock it down, reapply your stat points, and even create whole new loadouts - each with their own individual stat combinations - to win the day. It's all wonderfully considerate, and having played the free demo that's just launched on Steam, I'd strongly recommend giving it a go if you're feeling in need of a little training ahead of Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree coming out.

I've griped before that Warhammer 40,000 Darktide hides satisfying challenges behind tedious grind, but another interesting challenge is easily missed and forgotten at the opposite end of the scale. Darktide is hard when you start a new character, with weapons that barely scratch some foes and no talents to back them up. It's a challenge unlike the official high difficulty levels, which lean towards drowning you in special enemies. So after hitting level 30 on all four classes and grinding out great gear, I've started a new character who'll never learn skills or get a good gun. She's quite bad, and that's quite fun.

Cupid Parasite: Sweet and Spicy Darling Otome Game Arrives in May

Idea Factory International announced the release date for the Cupid Paradise otome game follow-up Cupid Parasite: Sweet and Spicy Darling. The fan disc was announced back in November 2023, and we'll see it in North America and Europe on May, 28 2024.

As a reminder, this entry serves as both an epilogue and an introduction. People can romance Merenice Levin in a new storyline that takes place after the original game, but ended up with Lynette not dating any of the bachelors. The Bonus Episode section involves additional stories with Allan, Gill, Peter, Raul, Ryuki, and Shelby. The After Drama section involves seeing what married life is like with the original bachelors. Also, as suggested by the title, people choose "sweet" and "spicy" responses to guide how the new stories go for existing characters.

To go along with the Cupid Parasite: Sweet and Spicy Darling release date, there's also a trailer going over the otome game. It highlights what some of the after stories with the original bachelors and new storyline look like in the visual novel.

Here's the full video showing off parts of the game:

Cupid Parasite: Sweet and Spicy Darling will be available physically and digitally on the Switch in North America and Europe on May, 28 2024. It is immediately available in Japan.

Genshin Impact Neuvillette and Kazuha Rerun Banners Detailed

HoYoVerse offered a better idea of what to expect from the Neuvillette and Kazuha Genshin Impact rerun banners, as well as Epitome Invocation weapon banner appearing in April 2024. Both of the returning five-stars will be accompanied by the focus four-star units Barbara, Xingqiu, and Yanfei.

Neuvillette is a Hydro catalyst user. Neuvillette is primarily used as a main DPS in a party. He's also considered one of the better characters for that role, due to his charged attacks and kit. Meanwhile, Kazuha is an Anemo unit who wields a sword. He's considered one of the better sub DPS units in Genshin Impact. This is because of his AOE attacks and Swirl enabling capabilities for elemental reactions. Barbara is a Hydro healer who uses a catalyst. Xingqiu is a Hydro swordsman who is also considered a sub DPS. Yanfei is another catalyst user who belongs to the Pyro element, and she'd fill a main DPS role.

As for the Epitome Invocation, it features Neuvillette and Kazuha's signature weapons. These are the five-star Tome of the Eternal Flow catalyst and Freedom Sworn sword. You also have better odds of geting the four-star Favonius Greatsword, Favonius Lance, The Flute sword Mitternachts Waltz bow, and Wind and Song catalyst.

At the moment, you still have some time to take advantage of the current banners in the game. Both Chiori and Itto are available until April 2, 2024. Chiori is the sole new character in the 4.5 update. Meanwhile, Itto's on his fourth rerun. Both of them are five-star Geo characters. Chiori uses a sword, while Itto wields a claymore.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the Neuvillette and Kazuha banners will begin on April 2, 2024.

There are two watches and two jackets, each with one version sporting a dark, Demon Homura-inspired aesthetic, and the other with a white and pink focus based on Madoka Kaname's Ultimate form. There are also other allusions to the designs like crests and wing motifs, as well as adjustable metal straps. The jackets also share some of these details, and both come with removable hoods and patterns on the inside. The Madoka jacket is also reversable.

The watches will each cost $270 or ¥29,700, while the jackets will set you back $190 or ¥20,900. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet extracurricular lesson event in Shima Spain Village

A Pokemon Scarlet and Violet-themed event will take place at a Japanese theme park inspired by one of the countries that served as models for the Paldea region. The Pokemon Company revealed via its Japanese X account that it will hold the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Extracurricular Lesson event at Shima Spain Village from late June 2024 to late September 2024.

The company has yet to reveal full details about the summer event as of this announcement. However, it has shared hints that it will place photo spots featuring Paldean Pokemon. It will also hold a rally event where participants must find items spread across the theme park to win rewards. In addition, food stalls inside the venue will offer Pokemon-themed meals during the event.

The venue choice for this new event could not have been more coincidental. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet take place in the Paldea region, which Game Freak modeled after the Iberian Peninsula that mostly constitutes Spain and Portugal. The Shima Spain Village theme park, which has been operational in the Mie Prefecture since 1994, is also based on the very country it is named after.

The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Extracurricular Lesson event will take place at Shima Spain Village from June 29, 2024, to September 23, 2024. The event will be based on the ninth-generation mainline Pokemon game available worldwide on Nintendo Switch.

At the beginning of March 2024, Katsuhiro Harada promised bans for Tekken 8 cheaters, and now there's news about a round of these account suspensions. Now the official social media account brought up temporary and indefinite punishments and promised more will come in April 2024.

The announcement specified that this wave of Tekken 8 account suspensions is due to other players' in-game reports. However, it didn't specify what sorts of punishments would be assigned to which types of misconduct.

samsung earbuds pokemon case

Samsung Japan will release three new Pokemon earbuds cases as part of its Galaxy Buds series. They'll be the Pokemon Super Ball Eco-Friends Cover, Pokemon Hyper Ball Eco-Friends Cover, and Pokemon Master Ball Eco-Friends Cover. [Thanks, Game Watch!]

As you can imagine from the names, the Galaxy Buds cases all look like balls from the Pokemon series. To be more specific, you can get balls that look like the Great Ball (Super Ball in Japanese), the Ultra Ball (Hyper Ball in Japanese), or the Master Ball. You can get these via the Samsung online shop, Galaxy Harajuku, or the Slash B Slash online shop. They cost 4879 JPY ($32.25) each. Because of the inside shape of the case, earbuds other than Galaxy Buds might not fit correctly.

In the past, Samsung Japan released a Poke Ball version of the cover. These ones are actually available for purchase outside of Japan. So there's a chance that you will be able to eventually buy the Pokemon Great Ball, Ultra Ball, and Master Ball earbuds cases as well, even if you live in another country. If you absolutely must get your hands on these earbuds cases right now, you will need to use a proxy service.

The Samsung Pokemon earbuds cases are readily available for purchase in Japan.
