Nvidia has just released an update to its Nvidia ChatRTX AI assistant app, bringing support for more large language models and voice recognition in multiple languages. Nvidia ChatRTX isn't the first app to do this, but its support for Nvidia GPUs inherently taps into their widespread use in many of the best graphics cards available right now.

Hotline Miami publisher's new, 93%-rated FPS deserves more attention

When's the last time you played an FPS that felt truly new and original? Counter-Strike 2 is fluid and fun, but basically an extension of CSGO. More broadly, the entire multiplayer scene feels stagnant right now - after so many years, Call of Duty, Rainbow Six, The Division, and all the rest are circling the same drain. Doom Eternal was a shot in the arm. Indie nostalgia trips like Turbo Overkill and Dusk are certainly worthwhile. But it's now eight years since Superhot, perhaps the latest shooter to feel truly experimental. Speaking to PCGamesN at WASD, the developer of one of 2024's most unique games, published by Hotline Miami and Cult of the Lamb label Devolver, explains the creation and reaction to their subversive take on the FPS.

Regular serialization of the manga at Mangaplus and Viz Media ended with chapter 400. However on May 1, 2024, Togashi returned to social media to show his progress on Hunter x Hunter. The image shared indicating a massive leap in progress since his last post concerning chapter 401.

You can check out the original social media post by Togashi here:

https://twitter.com/Un4v5s8bgsVk9Xp/status/1785548977439752662

This post roughly translates to "No405, I'm working on it. Moon Healing Escalation!" This is not only a reference to his wife Naoko Takeuchi's manga Sailor Moon, but this update indicates he's working on finishing the manuscript for chapter 405, meaning that the manuscript had progressed five entire chapters in its absence.

In a previous update, Togashi addressed his previous break with a similar post simply stating in English, "Start over." It indicated a renewed effort into the project. With this new update from Togashi, it shows that his efforts are beginning to pay off.

Hunter x Hunter is available in Weekly Shonen Jump, and Viz Media publishes the manga outside Japan. The 2011 version of the anime is available on Crunchyroll and Netflix.

Archon Decapre Becomes a Playable Street Fighter: Duel Character

Decapre is once again be a playable character in a Street Fighter game, as she is now in the mobile game Street Fighter: Duel as Archon Decapre. People are able to pull for her or take part in her New Fighter Trial Realm.

As usual, going through the New Fighter Trial Realm lets you check her out. There are a number of rewards you can earn for running it.

This is actually the second variant of Decapre available in the game. The original was an SSS Flame type Tech character from the Assassin class. She had a Ansatsuken fighting style. Archon Decapre is still a Tech Assassin, but she's an Infernal type. She also uses the Military Combat style like Cammy.

Prior to Street Fighter: Duel, Decapre was only playable in Ultra Street Fighter IV. However, she did show up in the Street Fighter V story and 6's World Tour.

New characters and variants come to Street Fighter: Duel fairly often. For example, Agent C. Viper is among the recent additions. A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles event also kicked off in April 2024.

Street Fighter: Duel is available for mobile devices. The Archon Decapre New Fighter Trial Realm will be available until May 14, 2024.

Official Stardew Valley Cookbook Makes It Easy to Cook Homey Meals

Given it is a farming sim, we've always been able to cook in Stardew Valley. Making meals to eat ourselves, give as gifts, or ship out for money is a critical part of the gameplay experience. Since it is based upon actual farming and cooking, many of these look familiar and, well, like things we can accomplish ourselves. So now, we're about to see Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone and Ryan Novak release an actual Official Stardew Valley Cookbook that taps into all that on May 14, 2024, and it does so in a way that keeps cooking accessible.

So the first thing I really liked about the Official Stardew Valley Cookbook is that instead of being divided into things like appetizers, main courses, sides, and desserts, it is split into seasons. Given we're just about to head into spring and the farmer's market near me is about to be open every week, I was really excited to see how I could take advantage of that. The Cheese Cauliflower was the first thing I made. The instructions were easy to follow, it didn't require too many ingredients, and I felt like when it was done that someone could have easily adjusted the recipe to omit the garlic or thyme if they aren't a fan.

There's a nice balance of recipes I recognized from Stardew Valley as well. So this isn't a situation where there will be meals or items "inspired" by the game, but that I actually remembered making when in the game. So you aren't going to see Algae Soup, but things like Lucky Lunch, Maki Roll, and Survival Burger are all there. I didn't make the Survival Burger myself, just because the number of items needed was a lot and eggplant isn't my thing, but it's there and seemed really accurate! Not to mention, it's also one of many dishes that could be made vegatarian or vegan-friendly with a few minor alterations during the preparation process.

What's also a nice touch is that even though everything is arranged by season, I didn't feel like it was too restrictive when reading through the recipes. While The Official Stardew Valley Cookbook version of Stir Fry includes shiitake mushrooms, purple carrots, and yellow onions, I substituted in traditional orange carrots and opted for broccoli instead of mushrooms. It was still great. And like, I still made the Banana Pudding that was in there, and it being a "Summer" recipe didn't make it any more difficult to complete even though it is April.

Plus, The Official Stardew Valley Cookbook maintains the right atmosphere. Recipes are attributed to characters from the game, like Linus or Pam. Other characters from the game will offer "comments" on each one. The art for each one is inspired by the actual game, with photos of actual food photographs scattered throughout.

I really like what Concerned Ape and Novak accomplished with The Official Stardew Valley Cookbook. There are a lot of matter of fact, fairly simple recipes here clearly taken from the game. All involve food you would eat on a regular basis, so it's genuinely practical. Plus the vibes are impeccable and really capture the spirit of the game. It feels like a fun complement to the game.

The Official Stardew Valley Cookbook will appear on May 14, 2024. It will be available digitally or physically. Stardew Valley is available for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PCs, mobile devices, and the PlayStation Vita. Stardew Valley is available for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PCs, mobile devices, and the PlayStation Vita.

Starfield Patch Adds Ship Decoration, Better Surface Maps Update

Bethesda and Microsoft announced its next Starfield major update, which will bring the requested ship decoration and better surface maps features, will arrive on May 15, 2024. Ahead of its launch, its Steam beta and the 1.11.33 Starfield patch notes are live.

A trailer went over some of the more detailed elements of the May 2024 Starfield update, and it specifically focused on the new look for surface maps and ship decoration. First, the team looked at how the surface maps will appear after 1.11.33. Clear icons will appear everywhere, showing where things are in the game. You'll see structures, foliage, rocks, and markers. These markers will also appear when you're looking around or at a map, so you can clearly see where things are and get around.

At about the 2:30 mark, discussions about Starfield surface maps end and the ship decoration update begins. We see how a space starts off as empty, then ends up populated with furniture and decorations. The goal is to make them as customizable as outposts, to allow someone's vessel to represent their personalities.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ObHRMHtTMY&ab_channel=BethesdaSoftworks

Here are the full Starfield patch notes for the 1.11.33 update:

New Features:

  • Improved surface maps - We've heard your feedback, and we've made some big improvements to surface maps, so you'll always know just where to go and no longer "get lost" on the way to your parents' place (and they weren't buying that excuse anyway, you should really go visit them).
  • New gameplay options - For those of you who like a bit of an extra challenge or want to make some aspects of the game easier, you can customize your experience with brand new options in the Settings menu. Want to make ground combat harder but ship combat easier? You can do just that!
  • Added Ship Decoration mode to the interior of Ships – now you can decorate your ships just like you can with Outposts!
  • Added Tabs to Container menus to make managing your inventory easier.
  • Added the ability to change Traits and appearance after entering the Unity.
  • Added Dialogue camera toggle in the Settings.
  • Added Display settings for Xbox Series X to prioritize Visuals or Performance (Series X).

Xbox Series X Display Settings:

  • Frame Rate Target: You can now choose between 30, 40, 60 or an Uncapped frame rate on VRR displays. If you do not have a VRR display running 120hz, you will still be able to select from 30 or 60. Screen tearing may occur at times when selecting 60 on a non-VRR display.
  • Prioritize: You can now prioritize between Visuals and Performance while trying to maintain the frame rate target. If you're choosing a frame rate target of 60 or above, we recommend changing this to Performance. Prioritizing Visuals keeps the highest resolution while maintaining full detail for special effects, lighting, and crowds. Prioritizing Performance lowers internal resolution and detail for special effects, lighting, and crowds. Both modes may adjust internal resolution dynamically when scenes or action get heavier as well. When switching between modes, you will see the lighting change briefly as the system catches up to the new mode.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure Gudetama Update Adds Nisetama-san

The latest Hello Kitty Island Adventure update is live on Apple Arcade, and it involves more Gudetama items and Nisetama-san. May 2024 is now the Month of Meh in honor of the egg, adding new events tied to the character.

There's no official patch notes for the event going over the new additions. However, Gudetama and Nisetama-san will appear during a special event running throughout the month. People can get a new furniture set starring the lazy egg. There are also new pieces of clothing. Previously, the only items were tied to taking photos of Gudetamas around the islands. You can also take daily photos with Nisetama-san. All of these appear on the main island in the Resort Plaza area, with a temporary golden Gudetama shrine on the beach as a centerpiece for taking part in the event.

More permanently, new egg-related recipes will be present in Hello Kitty Island Adventure in honor of Gudetama. The Egg Pan Station can now be found in the Gemstone Mountain area. It seems you'll need to keep up with chickens for eggs for it.

Here's the trailer showing us what to expect in the latest update.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyACkRJyRe4&ab_channel=Sunblink

While Nisetama-san isn't a permanent neighbor, someone new did show up back in February 2024. Wish me Mell joined the cast.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure is available for the Mac and Apple devices via Apple Arcade, and the Month of Meh Gudetama event runs until May 31, 2024.

Honkai: Star Rail Robin Gameplay

HoYoverse showcased the gameplay mechanics for the upcoming Honkai: Star Rail character Robin with a character preview and a new video in the "Keeping Up With Star Rail" series. Robin is a Physical element character walking the Path of Harmony, and she is set to arrive in update 2.2.

Both the character preview on HoYolab and the video preview go over Robin's kit, though the latter features extra input from her brother Sunday. He's voiced by his English voice actor Griffin Puatu. Robin's abilities revolve around buffing allies' damage, especially on follow up attacks. Her Skill Pinion's Aria applies a team-wide damage boost for three turns, while her Tonal Resonance Talent boosts allies' crit damage and regenerates her energy when they attack. This allows her to charge her Ultimate quickly, which then grants allies immediate actions and bonuses to their damage based on Robin's attack stat. Interestingly, Robin herself cannot act while her ultimate is active and its duration is not affected by her speed stat.

You can watch the Honkai: Star Rail gameplay preview for Robin below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2YXaozZ6qg

HoYoverse also recently released an animated short to advertise the Honkai: Star Rail 2024 Music Concert. The game will also feature in an Ichiban Kuji lottery by Bandai Spirits with 7 different kinds of prizes available, including a mug shaped like a trash can.

Robin is set to become available in Honkai: Star Rail with the arrival of Update 2.2, scheduled for release on May 8, 2024. The game itself is readily available on PC, PS5, and mobile devices.

A new month means a new Final Fantasy VII calendar, with Square Enix making Cid Highwind the star of the ones for May 2024. It features his new appearance and design from the remake trilogy.

As usual, the two calendars are available in PC and mobile versions. So whether you need a landscape or portrait one, you are set. It also follows the tradition of marking birthdays of important characters on it. So we can see Tifa's birthday highlighted on May 3, 2024.

Here are the two Cid Final Fantasy VII calendar options for May 2024:

Cid made his debut in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy in Rebirth. He isn't a playable character. Rather, he and the Tiny Bronco help us get around and fast travel between regions after a certain point in the game. It is expected that characters like Vincent and him will become playable in the third installment

However, the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Ultimania guide book did offer some insights into his latest appearance. The game worked in details from one of the supplemental novels. As such, it suggested that Cid met Ifalna and Aerith when he worked for Shinra. That pulls from the supplemental book Final Fantasy VII Traces of Two Pasts.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and its demo are available on the PS5, with the exclusivity arrangement ending on May 29, 2024. FFVII Remake is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC. There's no release window for the third entry in the trilogy yet.

See Nargacuga in Monster Hunter Stories

Now that Monster Hunter Stories HD release is on the way, Capcom is reintroducing some of the monsters appearing as Monsties like Nargacuga. Two videos show what to expect when finding or exploring alongside the character.

First, there's a teaser showing what it is like when a Nargacuga Monstie hatches from an egg in Monster Hunter Stories. This can also help a player with identifying the character. The egg shown has a pink and purple tiger-print pattern. A standard Nargacuga hatches from that egg. (A Green Nargacuga also appears in this title.)

The other video shows the Nargacuga Ride Action in Monster Hunter Stories. When you ride on it, you can temporarily become invisible. This allows you to sneak past other monsters in the field and avoid battles. The standard and green Nargacuga Monsties are the only ones with this ability in the original release.

As a reminder, this isn't the only Monster Hunter Stories game to feature this character. It also appeared in the sequel. That one added the standard, green, and Silverwind versions of the monster.

Monster Hunter Stories will come to the PS4, Switch, and PC via Steam on June 14, 2024. It is also available on the 3DS and mobile devices.

Next Batman Arkham Game is Batman: Arkham Shadow VR

A new Batman Arkham series entry is on the way, but a person will need a Meta Quest 3 to play the game. Batman: Arkham Shadow is a VR exclusive that will launch in late 2024.

Right now, there are very few details about the title. There's a platform and release window. We also got a brief trailer showing off Gotham. However, we'll need to wait until 2pm PT/5pm ET on June 7, 2024 to learn more. That's because it's already confirmed by Meta to be a Summer Game Fest 2024 reveal.

Here's the first teaser trailer for the game.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDOI0pXdcGY&ab_channel=MetaQuest

While Rocksteady got the Batman Arkham game series started, Camouflaj is behind the VR title. Originally known for Republique, it's since moved into VR. In addition to a VR version of that title, it also worked on Iron Man VR.

As for the Arkham series, it recently found a new home. Back in 2023, the trilogy of games appeared on the Nintendo Switch. Originally, the titles appeared on consoles and platforms like the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and PC. Rocksteady's most recent title was Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

Batman: Arkham Shadow will come to the Meta Quest 3 in 2024.

Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Zombies Purple Triangle Easter EggThe Season Three Reloaded update has added a ton of new content to Zombies in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 like an all-new Dark Aether Rift and main story mission, but there are other minor new easter eggs hidden throughout the map as well. One such easter egg involves a purple triangle in the center of the map. Completing a brief rune puzzle will reward you with 2,000 Essence, a Flawless Aetherium Crystal, and a Legendary Aether Tool, essentially giving you an endgame Zombies kit for free. How to Do the Purple Triangle Easter Egg in MW3 Zombies To start the purple triangle easter egg, head to Old Town in the center of the map. Make your way to the Dark Aether Rift where the Union story mission usually begins, but don't enter. Instead, search around the area for glowing purple runes attached to nearby buildings surrounding the courtyard. There's a glowing purple triangle on the floor that points to each of the runes.
