Destiny 2 Salvation's Edge raid walkthrough

How do you complete Destiny 2 Salvation's Edge raid? This tricky raid is stumping even the most experienced raiders. There's no shame in seeking a little helping hand, especially if you want to get it finished within contest mode. We're working our way slowly through it ourselves too, so this guide is a work in progress.

Destiny 2 has long been famed for its raid races, which sees fireteams of six gather together to try to complete the raid on "day one" which recently became two days to encourage Guardians to stay healthy, get rest, and not stick to their desks for 24 hours straight. With the complexity of Salvation's Edge, this one could well take the full 48 hours to finish, even if you've got the best Prismatic build around.

Gorgeous new action platformer from Hyper Light Drifter dev announced

Heart Machine seems to be keeping very busy. The studio behind 2016's Hyper Light Drifter and 2021's Solar Ash is still working on Hyper Light Breaker, the follow up to its debut, but it's also just announced yet another new project. With a striking visual style reminiscent of games like Inside or, in its detailed anime like character designs, Supergiant's Hades 2 and Pyre, Possessor(s) makes a strong first impression on the basis of its moody, immediately compelling announcement trailer.

Dead Cells designer returns with Hotline Miami style roguelike game

Dead Cells has some of the finest action design in recent games. Its combat and movement is incredibly responsive, making platforming and duking it out with enemies satisfying enough to keep players glued to the game for run after gruelling run. Now, Dead Cells designer Sébastien Benard is setting out to bring his expertise in action games to a different venue with the newly announced Tenjutsu, a roguelike project that combines Like a Dragon (formerly Yakuza) style combat with a throwback pixel art style that calls to mind Double Dragon and Hotline Miami's aesthetics.

Acclaimed puzzle game announces sprawling expansion, available soon

The Talos Principle 2 is one of the best. Created by Serious Sam 4 studio Croteam, The Talos Principle games are a slower paced and philosophically focused deviation from tradition by a team best known for frenetic FPS design. Both the 2014 debut and 2023 sequel showed that Croteam was more than up to the task of shifting genres, with The Talos Principle 2 gaining a place alongside modern puzzle classics like The Witness, Portal and Portal 2, Islands of Insight, and Return of the Obra Dinn. Now, players who are looking for more of The Talos Principle 2 are in luck: a brand new expansion called Road to Elysium has just been announced, and it's coming out very soon.

Fantastic Steam roguelike set to add co-op and more in big update

One of the best roguelike games in recent years will soon get even better. Cult of the Lamb combines combat reminiscent of action games like Hades and The Binding of Isaac with a base building and management side that has you sacrificing followers to an Eldritch god like some sort of devilish midpoint between Animal Crossing and Darkest Dungeon. Busy week, this one. We've had a whole load of games announced over the past few days, and there'll doubtless be a whole lot more this weekend. Most of them we can't play yet. But as a general rule, talking about games makes us want to play games, even if they're completely unrelated. Everyone has those moments where they see the trailer for a new multiplayer hero shooter or some such thing, and for reasons only known to themselves, they say, "yes, I really must play more Simpsons: Hit And Run." So: here's what we're all clicking on this weekend!

Computer Artworks' 2002 videogame adaptation of 1982 movie The Thing was a ghoulish and gripping third-person shooter with some terrific mechanics that weren't quite fleshed out, flesh being the operative word. For instance: you can enlist surviving soldiers as squadmates, but are they really surviving soldiers, or are they human-shaped warrens of teeth and mandibles poised to split open and shower you in digestive juices? You have a limited supply of blood tests with which to determine whether any people you rescue are Things in waiting - and even as you're worrying about them, they're casting suspicious eyes at you, care of some embryonic "trust" and "fear" systems.

Sadly, much of this acute paranoia could be easily gamed out in practice - back in 2002, I deduced that contact with enemies increased the odds of infection, and adopted a policy of shooting anyone who'd been in my squad for too long. But it's the kind of system an intelligent remake could pounce upon and have fun with. Sadly, Nightdive are not working on a remake, like their previous System Shock remakes. They've just announced that they're making a remaster, due later this year. Still, I will take a Thing remaster and thus, the opportunity to write more about The Thing, over no remaster at all.

A goat or a lamb - which makes the better sacrifice? Trick question, it's neither. The best sacrifices are old rich people. In Cult of the Lamb's next update, Unholy Alliance, you can sacrifice folks with a pal. The upcoming free update will add a co-op goat character so a friend can indoctrinate and stab alongside you. The developers have shown off the two-player update amid the summer news plague that is threatening to tear entire branches off the RPS treehouse this week. "Summoned by blood and born in corruption, this wicked new ally can join the holy Lamb in local co-op," say publishers Devolver. Ah, local co-op. Not online then. I guess this is for real-life people with real-life friends and a proper real-life sofa. Well. Good for them. I'm happy for them. Couldn't be happier. Happy happy happy.

Wet chunks of summer games news continue to shower down on us like an explosive blast of whale viscera. But look, this bit of news blubber is quite good. Philosophy-obsessed puzzler The Talos Principle 2 is getting a big three-part DLC expansion, and some of the environments look lush. Not least this humongous cube sticking out from the sands of a tropical island at a jaunty angle. It is called the Hexahedron, and its interior constitutes a "large, continuous puzzle cluster" that the player will navigate. As one of those dweebs who has walked around London saying "aha, brutalism" at every insignificant piece of concrete he sees, this pleases me. Come and see it up close in the trailer.

B-Project Ryusei Fantasia Switch, PC Release Date Set, Demo Debuts

Back in February 2024, PQube confirmed it picked up the Switch and PC versions of B-Project Ryusei Fantasia, and now we have a release date for both and PC demo. It will launch outside Japan on July 15, 2024 on digital storefronts, though the physical Switch copies won't appear until July 26, 2024.

As always, this also means a new trailer. This time, it's a peek at the opening movie. It offers a chance to see the idols we'll be working with in the game, as well as hear the main theme song. Though the cast is large, official character for each one appears alongside their name during the segment. It's also identical to the announcement trailer, save for the B-Project Ryusei Fantasia release date at the end.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_7RRyKkBS4&ab_channel=PQube

There will be 10% pre-order and launch discounts. In the case of the Switch, that applies between July 7-14, 2024 in the eShop. On Steam, the launch sale starts on July 15, 2024.

As for the B-Project Ryusei Fantasia demo, it is only available for the PC version via Steam. Windows owners can test it out. As this is a visual novel involving preparing performers for the B-Project idol group, you only get to go through the first chapter here. This is a limited demo for Steam Next Fest, so it will be gone starting on June 17, 2024.

B-Project Ryusei Fantasia will come to the Nintendo Switch and PC digitally on July 15, 2024. Physical Switch copies launch just over a week later on July 26, 2024. The PC demo is available now on Steam.

All Summer Game Fest 2024 Developers Set To Participate And What We Want To See Featured(1)There were loads of fantastic game releases in the Summer Game Fest 2024, but there are definitely some I'm going to be checking out the moment I can. Enotria, The Last Song Image: Enotria The Last Song To kickstart this list, I'm choosing what is currently my most anticipated game: Enotria, The Last Song. This game is oozing with flavor and theme, and it looks as though it'll a Soulslike more akin to Bloodborne and Lies of P with the mask and weapon switching. Recent non-Fromsoft Soulslikes, like Lies of P and Lords of the Fallen, have been performing very well recently, which is a good omen for Enortia. I love the stylish classical theme – it just looks so elegant and clean. It's about time we had a Soulslike with a more vibrant setting.
