genshin impact 4.8 events

Genshin Impact Version 4.8 will be out this week and HoYoVerse has given us a rundown on what events you can expect in Phase I of the new update. This includes limited time banners and shop items as well.

Banners and costumes

From the time Version 4.8 starts to the time it ends, you'll be able to participate in the Summertide Scales and Tales event. Completing quests will net you the Fairytale Figurines costume for Kirara. Nilou's costume, Breeze of Sabaa, will only be in the shop and you can get it at a discounted price until August 26, 2024. With the discount, it costs 1350 Genesis Crystals. After August 26, 2024, it will revert back to 1680 Genesis Crystals.

As for the banner characters, Navia and Nilou will be available on re-run. Their banners will last until August 6, 2024. During these banners, you'll also have a higher chance of getting Kaveh, Kirara, and Ningguang. Their signature weapons—Verdict and Key of Khaj-Nisut—will also be available for a limited time. We already know that Emilie will be a new Dendro character, but she'll be in the second phase, with Yelan re-running alongside her.

Other events

Like other summer events in Genshin Impact, Summertide Scales and Tales will feature a limited-time map. You'll be able to hang out with everyone and complete quests in Simulanka. But outside of this event, there are other ones that will let you gain Primogems and Lucky Coins. They are:

  • Outside the Canvas, Inside the Lens: Dew-Kissed Chapter: July 29 - August 8, 2024
  • Genius Invokation TCG - The Forge Realm's Temper: Endless Swarm: Entirety of Version 4.8
  • Genius Invokation TCG - Heated Battle Mode: Tactical Formation: July 27 - August 12, 2024

Shop items

Finally, some items just require you to spend money (granted, Nilou's outfit was paid currency only so she counts as a shop item too). Round 33 of Adventurer's Booster Bundles will be available until July 31, 2024. You'll be able to get items like Character Talent Materials and Mystic Enhancement Ore for your characters or weapons. There will also be a new BP Pass available. For this season, you can get the "Magical Forest Hut" Furnishing Blueprint and the Fanciful Fabrication namecard.

Genshin Impact is readily available on the PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. Version 4.8 of Genshin Impact will go live on July 17, 2024.

genshin impact xiphos' moonlight

In Genshin Impact, Xiphos' Moonlight is a fantastic Sword for characters who rely on Elemental Reactions. It's also fairly easy to get, making it fantastic for players who don't necessarily want to spend too much real-world money or precious Primogems on the weapon banner.

Where is Xiphos' Moonlight in Genshin Impact?

Xiphos' Moonlight is a 4-star Weapon that you can get from the Epitome Invocation banners. It usually appears on rate-up whenever Key of Khaj-Nisut (Nilou's signature weapon) is around, meaning that it will be available on the Phase I Version 4.8 banner too. This is, as of the time of writing, the only method to get Xiphos' Moonlight in Genshin Impact.

Is Xiphos' Moonlight worth it?

Yes! Yes, Xiphos' Moonlight works very well with a wide number of useful Sword users. You can even give it to a 5-star character if you don't have their signature weapon and it can serve as one of their better alternatives. The following effect is for R1:

  • Jinni's Whisper
The following effect will trigger every 10s: The equipping character will gain 0.036% Energy Recharge for each point of Elemental Mastery they possess for 12s, with nearby party members gaining 30% of this buff for the same duration. Multiple instances of this weapon can allow this buff to stack. This effect will still trigger even if the character is not on the field.

It also has Elemental Mastery as its main stat. This makes the weapon a very good one to use in team compositions that rely heavily on Elemental Mastery or Elemental Reactions. It provides both Elemental Mastery and Energy Recharge in one weapon, meaning you don't have to worry as much when farming Artifacts for your character.

Because the effect can stack and there's a high chance that you'll get multiple copies of Xiphos' Moonlight due to its 4-star status, you could potentially deck out multiple characters with the weapon instead of immediately throwing them into Weapon Refinement or using them as experience fodder.

Who should use Xiphos' Moonlight

Anyone who needs high Elemental Mastery can make use of Xiphos' Moonlight. This includes:

  • Alhaitham
  • Kazuha
  • Lynette
  • Nilou
  • Shinobu
  • Xingqiu

Depending on your build, you could also give it to characters like Ayaka, Jean, and Layla.

Genshin Impact is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices.

monster hunter sanrio my melody kuromi

The official Monster Hunter 20th anniversary X (Twitter) account has revealed the latest designs for its Sanrio crossover. It posted artwork of a Kuromi Fatalis and a My Melody Mizutsune.

For reference, Fatalis is an Elder Dragon that first appeared in Monster Hunter whereas Mizutsune is a male Leviathan that first appeared in Monster Hunter Generations. The Monster Hunter X (Twitter) account had posted the silhouettes of the Kuromi and My Melody monsters on July 13, 2024. In the same post, it revealed a Hello Kitty Felyne and a Pompompurin Furious Rajang.

Today's post also includes two silhouettes of Sanrio mascots fused with Monster Hunter monsters, and their reveal will likely be tomorrow on July 16, 2024.Judging from the silhouettes, it seems that tomorrow's Sanrio mascots might be Cinnamoroll and Tuxedosam. However, we'll have to wait and see.

It's unknown how many of these Sanrio mascots are part of the collection. So far (including the new unknown ones) there are seven. These are the ones that Capcom have unveiled so far:

  • Hangyodon: Lagiacrus
  • Hello Kitty: Felyne
  • Kuromi: Fatalis
  • Little Twin Stars: Rathalos, Rathian
  • My Melody: Mizutsune
  • Pochacco: Zinogre
  • Pompompurin: Furious Rajang

These mascot crossovers are for the Monster Hunter series's 20th anniversary. The X (Twitter) account has been revealing two monster mascots a day, with the first being Pochacco and Hangyodon. These will be available as merchandise you can collect.

pokemon laundry dishwashing detergents

Eco-friendly cleaning brand Saraya will team up with The Pokemon Company to release Pokemon designs for its Yashinomi series of detergents. You'll be able to purchase them in Japan for a limited time from July 16, 2024. [Thanks, Game Watch!]

There are four types of Pokemon Yashinomi cleaning agents you'll be able to buy from Saraya:

  • Eevee: Fabric softener
  • Maushold: Condensed laundry detergent
  • Pikachu: Vegetable and eating utensils cleaner
  • Sprigatito: Premium power cleaner (a little goes a long way when it comes to oily dishes and pots)

All of the bottles will have an Alolan Exeggutor somewhere on the packaging. This is a reference to how Alolan Exeggutor looks like a giant palm tree and "Yashinomi" literally translates to "coconut."

These Pokemon cleaning agents are yet another example of merchandise aimed at adults. Since Pokemon has been around since a lot of people's childhoods, many older people still like to buy items with the monsters' designs on them. Other goods that target a more mature audience than your average child include Tiffany jewelry, kitchen supplies, and couch cushions.

The Pokemon cleaning detergents from Saraya will appear in stores in Japan from July 16, 2024. They will only be around for a limited time. You can also get them via Rakuten.
