Genshin Impact new characters in the 4.8 update and beyond

Want to know about new Genshin Impact characters? During each new update, there's usually at least one brand-new playable character introduced to the roster. They typically appear on event banners with increased drop rates, including one five-star character and three four-star characters.

While we know which characters are likely to appear on the next Genshin Impact banners, some characters featured in this guide might not be playable right now, but they can still be found in Genshin Impact. We've also included some characters who are rumored to join the free PC game down the line, but may not have an in-game model just yet. While none of this information is official until Hoyoverse says otherwise, here's a round-up of all the current rumors and speculation.

What is the current and next Genshin Impact banner?

Genshin Impact banners rotate every few weeks on a precise schedule, and we always know what to expect thanks to regular updates from Hoyoverse. The developer of the anime game always keeps its fans in the loop with regular livestreams and social media updates, so you can plan where you want to spend your hard-earned primogems.

With a two to three-week turnaround for banners, the roster of Genshin Impact characters is constantly changing, and the free PC game regularly introduces two new characters to wish for. Every limited-time character banner, or event wish, contains a five-star character and three four-star characters with increased drop rates. There's also a Genshin Impact weapon banner, which runs alongside each character banner and changes weapons every update.

Struggling Paradox 4X game Millennia deserves another chance right now

On paper, Millennia was a surefire hit. Published by Paradox, the esteemed strategy braintrust behind Stellaris, Cities Skylines 2, Crusader Kings, and many more, it's a 4X game with a superb gimmick, whereby at certain points established history can deviate into more radical, more fantastical hypotheticals. Advance the tech tree too quickly, and you'll be beset by the Age of Robot Overlords. Neglect health amenities, and say hello to the Age of Plague. Arriving in March of this year, Millennia has so far attracted mixed responses on a modest playerbase, but with a sizable first DLC about to land, it's time to give this one a second chance.

BenQ X300G review: Portable 4K powerhouse projector

I still remember the first time I ever saw a personal projector. It was in the early 2000s and I was just a kid then. My dad bought home one after getting a bonus at work, and soon enough we were immersed in the Matrix Reloaded watching giant mechs do battle in all 100-inch glory. The feeling at that moment was incredible. Let me say then, the BenQ X300G, almost rivals that experience, that feeling, but in a uniquely different way.

I've spent a lot of time testing projectors and monitors over the last few years. I've even been involved in the quality control and design of a few of them too. I live and breathe the stuff, so trust me when I say, the X300G is an outstanding projector. The image quality alone, particularly for a small form factor 4K unit is just exemplary. Out-of-this-world even. It doesn't suffer from some of the latency artefacts you get on other portable units either, in fact, I can safely say, it's almost assuredly one of the best gaming projectors out there today.

There is one minor caveat to that statement, however, and that's the pricing. BenQ's placed this thing at an astounding $1,800, or £1,500 RRP. It is not cheap, even Benq's own X500i pips it to the posts when it comes to affordability, and that is troublesome.

But why should you get a projector? What is it about these things that makes them so palpable? Well, it's a complex decision, that's for sure. Let's face it, projectors aren't ever going to replace some of the best gaming screens out there, they're just not. If you're in love with using a 21:9 ultrawide for your gaming needs, then that's not about to go away any time soon, and nor should it.

No, this is all about that gaming-den, or going to your bud's place, and chucking a 110-inch 4K projection on the side of his house (you can do that with this). It's a premium product, a halo offering, for those looking to take their gaming setup to the absolute max. Or add a bit of flash to their home office. It serves an entirely different purpose and is something you have in addition to a decent monitor setup, not despite.

The best games like RimWorld and Dwarf Fortress

What are the best games like RimWorld? As Charles Caleb Colton said back in the days of Commodore 64: "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery". But what must also be remembered is that without imitation we wouldn't have innovation, and without innovation, we wouldn't have variety.

Dwarf Fortress, iconic for its deep, emergent gameplay and ASCII graphics, actually innovated on games like King of Dragon Pass. That older but just as classic text-based clan manager is nearly unrecognizable to our modern town-builders, but its influence is still felt. Dwarf Fortress has since gone on to inspire a new generation of best city-builders and narrative best management games.

Grab a 34-inch Samsung gaming monitor for a ludicrously low price

Act fast and you can get a huge and high resolution 34-inch gaming monitor for just $229.99 in this Samsung gaming monitor deal. With a massive 39% drop in its price this is the cheapest this screen has ever been, making it a great way to upgrade your screen real estate on a budget.

The 34-inch ultrawide format and resolution of this Samsung screen is one of our favorite screen sizes and a regular feature on our best gaming monitor guide. It ideally balances an extra widescreen view that's great for movies and cinematic games - as well as multi-tasking on your desktop - but isn't so wide that it makes the screen too big of a poor fit for most game interfaces, as can be the case with really huge displays like the 49-inch Samsung Odyssey G9 G95SC.

What are the latest Disney Dreamlight Valley codes? We've done some digging to make sure we've got the latest codes available from Gameloft. To celebrate the release of Dreamlight Valley multiplayer, there are two new codes below.

The code might no longer be available, but if you still don't have a golden potato, you can pick one up in Scrooge's shop, and notes hidden around the valley suggest that the potato might be put to use any day now. Other codes have since been released with various celebrations and events, and all current Dreamlight Valley codes can be found below.

Toonsouls, which you can find on Steam here, doesn't appear to screenshot especially well. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of those perpetually disgruntled ghosts and charming goofskulls, but I might not be writing about the platform game at all if I hadn't seen it in motion, where the vision comes together a lot more. The Cuphead influence runneth so overly that it feels trite to even point it out, and I do think maybe opting for different music would have served it far better in this case, but you can't deny that Ghosts n' Goblins lance throw. Now Mountaintop Studios, a new studio whose ranks include ex-Bungie and Respawn devs, have chucked themselves into the tactical FPS gauntlet with Spectre Divide. Made with input from former CS pro and streamer Shroud, it looks a bit like a mix of CS and Valorant, but has a big gimmick that sets it apart from the two: you can swap between two bodies. The latest cuts were necessary to prevent continued losses, says the report, after Bungie missed Sony's targets following the release of last year's Lightfall.
