In an increasingly online world, the best internet providers for gaming are essential for anyone who wants to properly experience games like Sea of Thieves, Fall Guys, or Fortnite. When games reward you for regular play and require a constant connection to make progress, you don't want your progression hindered by choppy Wi-Fi.

Having the right internet service provider (ISP) can be just as important to your setup as having the best gaming keyboard or the best gaming mouse. Your ISP contributes to the lag you experience, whether ping is high or low, and how long it takes to connect to a server. Additionally, some ISPs love to throw gamers a few goodies (like free Game Pass subscriptions) to make the services all the more enticing.

Atomfall launch window confirmed, as Fallout rival gets closer

Fallout needs some competition. The Bethesda series is home to some of the best RPGs ever made, but it's not often we get another apocalyptic survival shooter to sink our teeth into. Fallout London has been an excellent reprieve, but even this colossal mod still sits on the shoulders of the series. Atomfall is a different story, though, a post-WWII survival shooter that channels what England was like after the war, with some sci-fi trimmings. We knew it was coming in 2025, but during Xbox's first day at Gamescom 2024, we've learned a more precise date.

Despite what we all expected, Concord is off to a pretty strong start

It's no secret that PlayStation's Concord has been having a hard time. The open beta, which was free to all players unlike the full game, peaked at just 2,388 players on Steam. With how much investment (and evidently passion, too) the title has received, it's hard to put a positive spin on it. However, now that it's available for the 72-hour advanced access period, Concord has some of its first Steam reviews, and they're actually surprisingly good.

Borderlands 4 release date estimate, trailers, and latest news

When is the Borderlands 4 release date? The Borderlands series dates back to 2009, when the first game was released to PC and consoles. Over the last 15 years, the series has become so popular that it was turned into a blockbuster movie in 2024 and, while that might have been met with a rather underwhelming reception, the franchise is set to continue with another videogame entry.

Confirmed during Gamescom Opening Night Live in August 2024, Borderlands 4 is still relatively mysterious, as a one-minute cinematic reveal trailer for the action-adventure game is all we've got to go on so far. However, we can start to look forward to when the Borderlands 4 release date might be, and what it could entail.

Our James recently stormed off to Cologne after having one too many kills stolen by Edwin in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. "I'm never even going to look at another videogame again!", he declared. Unfortunately for James, he accidentally walked straight into Gamescom. "I'm starting to think that there are a lot of video games" he informed us yesterday. Horrifying if true. Still, it does sound like he's managing to have some fun there, mainly by hitting up Saber Interactive COO and former id Software co-owner Tim Willits for some top tips on how to avenge Edwin's thieving ways.

Tips about kill-stealing aside, James found time to ask Willits about Space Marine 2's microtransactions, and whether there was any nervousness returning to a cult hit series… especially one a lot of people had almost given up on ever seeing again. "Even the "push forward" combat of the original was part of [id's] inspiration when we created Doom 2016," answered Willits. "So for me personally, it's this huge circle. It's always intimidating working on a franchise that people love." But, with the right team, technology, and vision he says, "it just comes together."

Now, I never played quite as much as our Brendy did of the original Splitgate. But I had a fun time with its mixture of Halo-esque trigger pulling and portalling around! So I was intrigued to give the alpha version of Splitgate 2 a go and see if it had a little more substance to it than its initial reveal, which gave off a, "it's Splitgate but with more money" feel.

Well, I think it's… a bit serious? It certainly has more polish and some extra additions, yet I didn't come away from it thrilled by its more competitive, class-based FPS leanings. I think it just needs a bit more time, perhaps, for a portal to open and some silly rocket launchers and baseball bats and zombies to come tumbling out of it.

If you have experience of the London rental market, there is but one way you can react to a game – a French game, no less, the cultural product of a country where two-bed apartments apparently grow on trees – that promises to maroon you in a sprawling labyrinth of flats. If you have have experience of the London rental market, you are probably reading this and thinking: "He's got a front door? Such extravagance. I live in a folded umbrella." Touché, my friend. 3 New LEGO Animal Crossing Sets Arrive in January

LEGO announced three Animal Crossing sets, with one being a new building, another involving a vehicle with trailer, and a third highlighting a notable NPC. Able Sisters Clothing Shop, Leif's Caravan & Garden Shop, and Stargazing with Celeste will all arrive on January 1, 2025.

Of the three sets, Stargazing with Celeste is the least expensive. It will cost $9.99. It lets you build an outdoor set with what looks like a replica of the crescent-moon Chair, the telescope, and a little table with a candle and cups. The minifig with that set is Celeste, and she comes with a book she can hold.

Leif's Caravan & Garden Shop will cost $29.99. This set features his car and caravan he brings to town, as well as the stall he'll sometimes set up outside the Town Hall. This includes a number of crops and potted plants. The minifigs in this one are Leif and Poppy the squirrel villager.

Finally, the Able Sisters Clothing Shop set costs $39.99. That involves the new store building with a clothing display in the window. It also seems to come with a small accessory stand to display outdoors and a peach tree. The minifigs included in this set are Mabel and the rabbit villager Sasha introduced in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

There are currently eight Animal Crossing LEGO sets. The first round included Maple's Pumpkin Garden, Bunnie's Outdoor Activities, Nook's Cranny and Rosie's House, Kapp'n's Island Boat Tour, Isabelle's House Visit, and Julian's Birthday Party. The second round added K.K.'s Concert at the Plaza and Fly with Dodo Airlines.

The livestream featured Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto, Director Yuya Tokuda, Executive and Art Director Kaname Fujioka from Capcom's development team.

The removal of gender-locking from armor has been long desired by the community. Previously in Monster Hunter games before Wilds, players would get different looking armor sets based on their character's gender that they could not be changed. The team also reiterated that the game would have crossplay.

The confirmation came during a livestream from Gamescom hosted by community manager Jonno Stanton. The initial plan was to have all the developers play a multiplayer session together. During it, Stanton asked each of them which weapons they favor and will be bringing to the hunt. However, due to technical difficulties, the stream instead only showed single player gameplay from the perspective of Tokuda. The team did stress that they are planning to stream again on August 22-23, 2024, during which they intend to attempt multiplayer again. These streams will likely be available to watch on the Monster Hunter Youtube channel.

You can watch the Monster Hunter Wilds livestream yourself below, with the comment on gender locked armor coming at 29:50.

Previously, Capcom confirmed that a playable demo would be available to try at both Gamescom and PAX West, along with releasing more Weapon showcase videos. A new trailer also appeared at the opening night of Gamescom, showing off two new monsters and NPC companions.

Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled to launch in 2025 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

See NIKKE Asuka, Mari, Misato, and Rei Gameplay Trailers

With the Goddess of Victory: NIKKE Evangelion event about to begin on August 22, 2024, Shift Up shared brief gameplay teaser trailers for Asuka, Mari, Misato, and Rei. Each one begins with a model animation outside of a fight, then there's a brief in-battle clip that also shows off their Burst animations.

First, here's the video showing Asuka fighting in NIKKE. The announcement that goes with it revealed she deals fire damage, fills the Attacker role, and has a Piercing Bullets Burst III attack that increases her damage and hit rate while adding Pierce to her attacks.

Next up is the Mari NIKKE gameplay teaser trailer. She fills the Supporter role and helps grant Pierce to allies and while buffing their attacks. Her Burst II Skill is GPS Guided Missile, and it ups allies' attack while dealing damage based on her final ATK.

https://twitter.com/NIKKE_en/status/1826213213085770103

Like Mari, Misato is a Supporter in NIKKE. Her job is to act as a healer both with her standard skills and Command to Rest Burst I skill. Her video shows Pen Pen is with her both when looking at her character model or fighting in the field.

https://twitter.com/NIKKE_en/status/1826220986511020246

Finally, the Rei NIKKE gameplay teaser trailer shows she is an Attacker like Asuka. Both of her standard skills affect her own performance and damage, while her Annihilation: High Explosives Burst III skill creates shields for Fire Code allies and damages enemies based on her final ATK.

As a reminder, you will need to pull on banners to have a chance of getting Asuka, Mari, or Rei. That's the only way to get those units, and their Pilot in Summer costumes are part of Premium Passes. Everyone can earn Misato for free via playing.

Goddess of Victory: NIKKE is available on PCs and mobile devices, and the Asuka, Mari, and Rei banners and costumes will feature a staggered rollout throughout August and September 2024. The three banners and event will all end on September 19, 2024.

Katey Sagal Picked for One Piece Live-Action Dr Kureha

Netflix announced the actress picked to play Dr Kureha in season 2 of the One Piece live-action adaptation is Katey Sagal. It also confirmed Dr Hiriluk will be portrayed by Mark Harelik.

This comes following a tease from Eiichiro Oda, creator of One Piece, that more One Piece live-action actors would be announced between August 21-23, 2024. In that announcement, he mentioned Miss All Sunday, Vivi, and Chopper, but didn't bring up Dr Kureha or Dr Hiriluk.

Prior to the reveal of Katey Sagal as Dr Kureha in the One Piece live-action show, Jamie Lee Curtis expressed interest in playing the doctor. However in July 2024, showrunners Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements said Curtis' busy schedule kept her from taking the part. As such, they decided to go with another actress, which is Sagal. She is known for being Leela in Futurama, Peggy Bundy in Married with Children, and most recently Louise on the Roseanne spin-off The Connors.

There's no launch date for season 2 of the One Piece live-action adaptation yet. The first season, and some episodes of the anime, are on Netflix. You can also find the anime on Crunchyroll, and Viz Media handles the manga outside of Japan.

star rail sparkle pros and cons

Sparkle is a five-star Quantum Harmony character in Honkai: Star Rail who has a re-run every once in a while, and she's a pretty worthy unit to invest in depending on your favored teams. As a classic support who boosts DMG and Crit DMG, as well as offer more SP, Sparkle is fantastic for certain characters, but not as much for others.

To start with, let's run down Sparkle's kit. Her Skill can increase a target ally's Crit DMG by a percentage of hers, as well as Advances Forward the ally's action. Meanwhile, her passive Talent gives a total of 7 SP to use. Every time a character uses up a Skill Point, everyone's DMG increases by a percentage that increases based on her Trace level. Finally, her Ultimate recovers 4 Skill Points and temporarily boosts the DMG boost from her Talent. If you read all that and thought, "Wow, she sounds like she's good for characters like Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae," you're absolutely correct! While you don't need Sparkle in order to use him, she certainly helps with his horrible metabolism when it comes to his SP-hungry Enhanced Basic.

Something else astute players may notice is that Sparkle's kit is a little similar to Bronya's. Like Bronya, Sparkle can Advance Forward ally actions and increase their Crit DMG. Sparkle has the advantage of being able to increase the maximum number of SP, as well as restoring it with her Ultimate. That gives her the upper hand over Bronya's ability to Advance Forward an action by 100%, which almost always means the character she uses her Skill on gets a turn right after her. There are some differences between their scaling depending on things like Trace level and Crit DMG. But I'm willing to bet most players don't care about the various mathematical differences.

Because Sparkle's kit is so SP-oriented, she is a lot more SP friendly than Bronya is. Technically speaking, under the most ideal circumstances, Bronya wants to use her Skill every time she gets a turn. That's just not ideal though, depending on who you run with her. Sparkle can't exactly use her Skill every turn either, but her passive Talent to increase DMG when someone else uses a Skill can help to boost the party in other ways. In other words, if you want to use someone like Bronya but don't want to worry about SP as much, Sparkle is a fantastic character to pull for.

On the flipside, because Sparkle is so similar to Bronya, players who are F2P or want to save for another character might want to consider skipping. Sparkle is a must-pull if you're using characters like Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae or Qingque. As I mentioned in the past, Crit DMG is no longer the end all and be all. Superbreak is a very easy mechanic that can rack up a lot of damage in a short period of time. DoT is also one where Crit stats don't matter. This means an entire half of Sparkle's kit has lost its universality. The remaining half, which focuses on SP, is undeniably good. But some teams (such as a classic Firefly Superbreak team) don't even require that much SP.

In my opinion, as someone who constantly uses Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae, Sparkle is very useful. She's an excellent support for my personal needs. However, when it comes to other attackers, she might be passed over in favor of characters like Ruan Mei. It's not to say that she's bad, of course. She has a lot of things going on for her that make her a better support than Bronya. Like Huohuo's auto-cleanse and Energy Regeneration, Sparkle's ability to instantly generate 4 SP can be super useful in time-limited modes. But outside of this unique niche, Sparkle feels like a slightly more premium version of Bronya. Consider how high SP is in your list of priorities when you decide on whether to pull for Sparkle or not in Honkai: Star Rail.

Honkai: Star Rail is readily available on the PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. You can pull for Sparkle in Honkai: Star Rail only when the Sparkling Splendor banner is active.
