Vessel of Hatred length and how long to beat

How long is Vessel of Hatred? Set after the campaign, the new expansion takes us on a journey through the mysterious region of Nahantu in search of Neyrelle. To cut a long story short (and to avoid spoilers), Neyrelle's fate hangs in the balance as she is being hunted down by Mephisto, the Lord of Hatred.

The Diablo 4 DLC introduces mercenaries to the RPG game, a new mechanic that gives you a trusty companion to take you through the most demanding difficulty levels. You're going to need a helping hand as the Diablo 4 campaign will push you to your limits, and that doesn't factor in any of the end game content. Let's not get ahead of ourselves just yet, here's how long it will take you to finish the Vessel of Hatred campaign.

Diablo 4 Dark Citadel - how to unlock, all bosses, and rewards

How do you access the Diablo 4 Dark Citadel? This endgame PvE activity sees you team up with friends to tackle its difficult bosses and take down hordes of enemies throughout three wings. Resting at the bottom of a huge crater left by the Mage Clan civil war, the Dark Citadel is home to the Khazra, or Goat Demons, who are attempting to summon their overlord. It's your party's job to prevent that from happening.

Diablo 4's Dark Citadel is Diablo 4's first multiplayer-focused content, introducing the game's most challenging encounters. It contains complex mechanics that require some figuring out rather than being able to approach them with brute force. You'll want one of the strongest Diablo 4 builds to take on these difficult activities. Still, we've found success using the Diablo 4 Spiritborn class - the newest one in the game - and its overpowered Centipede guardian.

Who is Akarat in Diablo 4?

Who is Akarat in Diablo 4If you've played Diablo like, at all, you'll hear his name a lot. So if, like me, 'Akarat chirs cha cham' is playing over and over again in your head, here's a full rundown of who your godly companion is, and where he fits in the Diablo story. Note that this guide contains spoilers for the Vessel of Hatred campaign.

We've all seen the trailer for Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred. Neyrelle, guided by a native of Nahantu, crosses the river to Kurast in a rowing boat, dutifully chanting to Akarat. As Mephisto takes over and her arms are mercilessly split apart, we realize that Akarat is going to play a huge part in the RPG's campaign - which we have a Diablo 4 DLC review for, if you're interested - especially given the breadth of Mephisto's inky corruption. If you're new to Diablo, however, you may not have encountered Akarat, so here's a rundown of exactly who he is, and what part he plays in Sanctuary's story.

     Diablo 4 Kurast Undercity explained

What is the Kurast Undercity in Diablo 4? There are many ways to acquire both levels and loot in Diablo 4 - getting through the campaign should see you net plenty of both, but once that's over with, the real test of the endgame begins. Having an experience focused on helping you get stronger, while also being fun, is exactly what the Kurast Undercity is there for.

The Diablo 4 DLC brings with it a ton of new content that should appeal to veterans and newcomers alike - the Spiritborn class alone is worth the price of entry. There are plenty of new ways to interact with the world: the Realmwalker world event, the Dark Citadel, and, of course, the Kurast Undercity.

New World Aeternum details how its free-for-all PvP zone will work

PvP is probably the hardest thing to master in an MMO. Some games somewhat shove it to the sidelines like World of Warcraft, others focus on it like Throne and Liberty, and some simply excel at having a thriving community enjoying all that it can offer, as in the case of the Elder Scrolls Online. Occasionally, however, a new idea comes along that really shakes things up, and that looks to be the case in the upcoming relaunched MMO, New World Aeternum.

They've also abandoned the proprietary Slipspace game engine used by Halo Infinite in favour of Epic's Unreal Engine 5, which will be the basis for "multiple new games". To celebrate the occasion, Halo Studios have released some footage of Project Foundry, an expansive Unreal Engine 5 prototype and spawning vat for actual Halo games, which is billed by the Xbox Newswire as a kind of ur-Halo - "a true reflection of what would be required for a new Halo game using Unreal, and a training tool for how to get there".

Tomonobu Itagaki Studio Itagaki Games Consolidates

Itagaki Games LLC, the studio headed by Dead or Alive and modern Ninja Gaiden creator Tomonobu Itagaki, consolidated under a new Itagaki Games Co., Ltd name. While the studio released a dissolution notice in October 7, 2024, the developers will continue operating under the new name. [Thanks, GameBiz!]

The studio was originally reported by GameBiz to have closed down its doors for good. However, it was later clarified that Itagaki Games consolidated and would continue operating after the studio changed its name on September 2024 to Itagaki Games Co., Ltd.

Itagaki Games was originally established in January 2021 after the developer left his Representative Director role at Valhalla Game Studios for a new Prime Advisor role. Valhalla Game Studios was founded by Itagaki and Satoshi Kanematsu on 2008. The studio would go on to develop Devil's Third which released for the Wii U in 2015. Valhalla Game Studios later disappeared after merging with studio Soleil on December 2021.

Itagaki Games founder Tomonobu Itagaki originally announced upon the new studio's founding that its first game would appear for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC. However, no formal announcement of its first title has been made by the studio since its inception.

jungle pocket umamusume saito shinji

Police are looking into Shinji Saito, a member of the comedy group Jungle Pocket and who appeared in the Umamusume movie, due to allegations of sexual assault. According to NNN, the incident took place in July 2024. [Thanks, Game Watch!]

As mentioned earlier, the assault took place back in July 2024 and it happened in a studio bus they'd been using while filming a television program. The victim is a woman in her 20s. Saito has confessed to the allegations. He also stated that he regrets causing trouble to the victim and his own family due to his thoughtless actions.

Saito Shinji, who is 41 years old as of 2024, is a Japanese comedian, actor, voice actor, and race horse owner. He was part of the comedy group Jungle Pocket. As a result of this criminal incident, Yoshimoto Kogyo, the company that employs Jungle Pocket, has dismissed him from the job. Saito's declining health had limited his appearances from August 2024, even prior to this scandal.

Umamusume: Pretty Derby is available on mobile devices and Windows PC, with an English release is in the works.

The Kingdom Hearts series started out as essentially Disney meets Final Fantasy. This is seen even in the fact that several Final Fantasy characters from different iterations of the franchise appear in the various games. Here are the most notable and best Final Fantasy characters to appear in the Kingdom Hearts games.

Interview: Cody Christian On How He "Humanized" Cloud in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Best Kingdom Hearts Final Fantasy Characters: Cloud (Final Fantasy VII)

The brooding Cloud Strife is one of the first Final Fantasy characters players meet in Kingdom Hearts. He is also perhaps the most prolific, featuring in four of the titles in some direct way. This leads to an entire story arc revolving around Cloud, his training in the Colosseum, and his journey to defeat his nemesis Sephiroth.

Tidus (Final Fantasy X)

Tidus is one of the childhood friends of Sora and Riku. Despite being from Final Fantasy X, he somehow appears on the Destiny Islands in this series in a younger version of himself. There is a lot to love about the goofy and awkward protagonist, especially as he acts as a fun tutorial for Sora.

Selphie (Final Fantasy VIII)

Selphie is one of the other members of the crossover trio that grows up on the Destiny Islands alongside Sora and Riku. She is perhaps even more notable, though, since she comes from a different game entirely — Final Fantasy VIII — and her lovable outgoing personality shines through. She even gets a significant enough story arc later in the series as a classmate of Kairi's.

Sephiroth (Final Fantasy VII)

The infamous villain of Final Fantasy VII, Sephiroth, is even a boss for Sora to fight in this series. Sephiroth is one of the most challenging foes in both the original Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 2. He will truly challenge your knowledge of the game and every mechanic. Plus, prior to Final Fantasy VII Remake, this was one of his best graphical appearances.

Moogles

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the lovable mascots of the Final Fantasy series: the Moogles. Sure, they aren't as flashy as the other characters on this list. However, they make up for this with being in every single game. In fact, they have the notable role of being the shopkeepers in most titles. This means they are actively involved in the player's story in every game, being far more essential than most crossover characters.

Let us know what your favorite Final Fantasy cameo in Kingdom Hearts is below!

hunter x hunter 401

Weekly Shonen Jump has released chapter 401 of Yoshihiro Togashi's Hunter x Hunter. Those who are reading it in English can read it, along with chapters 399 and 400, for free via Viz Media's website.

The chapter title is "Moonlight" and it's 24 pages long. Most of the chapter centers around Kurapika's meeting with Longhi, which is full of wild revelations and implications for the grander plot of the Succession Contest Arc. Considering the chapter before this one came out in late 2022, one might need a refresher as to what in the world was going on.

As a reminder, from chapter 401 onwards, Hunter x Hunter will no longer be a weekly series. Back in 2022, Togashi and the Jump editorial team announced this news, stating that this change was due to Togashi's health. Togashi is still writing the story and the editorial team will continue to support him until he finishes his series. It's just that Hunter x Hunter will appear on a different schedule and with a different method in the future. Togashi also stated that he's thinking of how he can best continue the series without causing too much trouble to others.

Hunter x Hunter is available in Weekly Shonen Jump and you can read it in English through Viz Media. The Madhouse anime adaptation is available to watch through Crunchyroll. A fighting game, Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact, is also in development.

Monolith Soft Establishes R&D Team to Develop New Game Engine

In a recent interview, Monolith Soft founder Tetsuya Takahashi and developer Michihiko Inaba talked about the studio's new R&D department focusing on developing a new in-house engine. Ideally, it will be used for future Monolith Soft game projects. [Thanks, CGWORLD!]

Aside from heading the studio as one of its directors and overseeing development of new titles, Takahashi has been in charge of the new R&D department for approximately a year as of writing this. Meanwhile, Inaba has been a full-time programmer within Monolith Soft and was in charge of programming the engine for the Xenoblade Chronicles series. After finishing work on Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Inaba became producer and director of the new R&D department.

The objective of the R&D team is to improve the company's development environment, supporting the development of tools for each section of the studio, and to research and develop new technologies in order to develop an in-house rendering and effects engines for Monolith Soft, as well as research and development on animation.

The long-term goal of the new R&D team is to integrate the various developed technologies in the in-house engine so that it can be used in other Monolith Soft titles moving forward. However, since many staff members are currently in the title development section, the R&D team is jointly supporting the developers by creating new assets and effects as needed.

The in-house engine they are currently developing was originally made for Xenoblade Chronicles, released in 2010, and is still being expanded upon. Since the new R&D team has only existed for about a year, the Monolith Soft developers are planning to gradually transition to the new structure over the course of the next 3 years.

The latest Fantasian Neo Dimension trailer shows the progress from concept art to dioramas to actual gameplay.

When Mistwalker created Fantasian for Apple Arcade, the team built actual dioramas in the real world to use as background and environments in-game, and Square Enix and the developer shared another video going over the process again ahead of Fantasian Neo Dimension's debut. It shows both the creation of a few dioramas and the filming of them, as well as gameplay of areas that used them.

The Fantasian Neo Dimension video begins with a piece of art, before showing someone working on a diorama based on it. As part of that process, we see how the water around a wall is added. From there, a whole in-game town is depicted from a distance, before a close-up offers a better look at its more unique elements. We then see how that diorama looks in-game as gameplay shows Leo running through the streets.

At the 43 second mark, we get to see a more detailed series of progress on the game. Things begin with concept art of technological ruins. Then, we get to see the construction of the diorama. The process also included small prototype figures, to help provide a sense of scale for when it appears in-game. We watch as details are added, before we see gameplay at the 1:05 mark.

Here's the full trailer:

https://twitter.com/Fantasian_EN/status/1843229885663498739

As a reminder, Hironobu Sakaguchi talked extensively about the development of the Fantasian dioramas back in 2021, going over how they affected gameplay. He also revealed that, after the game development ended, he saved one of the homes used in the process.

Fantasian Neo Dimension will come to the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC on December 5, 2024. Fantasian is also readily available on Apple Arcade.
