All Diablo 4 Tenets of Akarat locations and rewards

Where do you find all the Tenets of Akarat in Diablo 4? There are 30 in total scattered around the new zone called Nahantu. Like the base game's Altars of Lilith, these tenets appear as small statues hidden within the jungle. Only this time there are small puzzles that keep you from bringing the light back to the shrines. If you can manage to find them all, there is plenty of renown and some fresh rewards waiting for you.

Nahantu itself is slightly larger than any Diablo 4 base game region. That means 30 Tenets of Akarat is reminiscent of the density of the Diablo 4 Altars of Lilith. Expect to find around five of the statues in each sub-region that contain one of four different puzzles. Once you find a few of them, the mini-mechanics are easy to deal with and you'll soon have as much renown as you can get.

You see, Aspyr have just announced that they're porting Star Wars: Episode I: Jedi Power Battles to PC and Steam. When I first laid eyes on Secret Door's Sunderfolk, while lurking to the rear of a gaggle of journomancers at a preview event last week, I let out an ostentatious sigh. Fortunately, I still mask up to preview events, and am thus free to adopt all kinds of snotty facial expressions without being set upon by burly PRs and shoved into the minifridge for later disposal. To sum it up, Sunderfolk is a hex and turn-based 2-4 player digital boardgame with fantasy animal characters and deckbuilding elements, reminiscent of Gloomhaven. Conceived during the pandemic lockdowns as a way to "bring back game night", but without the traditional 30-minute unboxing ritual, it's played on the big screen but controlled using a dedicated smartphone app, with players stroking and swiping to move characters and play cards.

Here's the official announcement. It confirms that people can get the Little Red Wreath shuriken-style weapon and Nanaki Mantle for Yuffie. The Cait Sith Ultimate Weapon is HP Shout.

https://twitter.com/FFVII_EC_EN/status/1844196155695169610

The Little Red Wreath weapon for Yuffie is tied to her dealing magical damage and ice attacks. It gives her the Icebound C. Ability that deals ice damage to one enemy, with that being increased if the foe is also under the influence of a debuff. It also has the Boost MATK and Boost Ice Potency R. Abilities. The S. Abilities on it are two MATK Boost Is and a Sigil Boost I.

As for the Nanaki Mantle, it's similar to Vincent and Cait Sith Halloween ones in that it also has the Eerie Mask R. Ability. That grants her increased HP and Magical Defense. It also includes Frostblade Arcanum, to boost ice-type attacks.

FFVII Ever Crisis is available on PCs and mobile devices, and the Yuffie Halloween banner with Red XIII costume is available until October 31, 2024.

Okay, stay with me. I promise I'm not trying to get a rise out of anyone. Like many people, I loved The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I pretty much lived in that game for weeks, and kept coming back to it whenever I just want to mess around. When Tears of the Kingdom released, the same thing happened. Yet when I think of the future for the series, I feel like those games probably shouldn't be the guiding light. No, I think the future of The Legend of Zelda is the latest Switch release Echoes of Wisdom.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

In a lot of ways, Echoes of Wisdom comes off like a top-down Legend of Zelda game that has been fully informed by the success of Breath of the Wild. Hyrule has always been an open world, but only occasionally a properly non-linear one. Echoes of Wisdom doesn't give you full freedom, but with the power of the Tri Rod and your imagination you have a lot of choice in how to tackle the game's challenges. That is a big part of what has made modern Zelda games feel so fresh and exciting, and it's one element that needs to stay.

Echoes of Wisdom shows how well that system can be applied to a top-down format, even more than the excellent Link Between Worlds did. One thing struck me as I was playing through Echoes of Wisdom, however. First, I've missed the traditional dungeons that have been largely absent from the 3D games of late. While Breath of the Wild reclaimed the feeling of exploration and discovery of the original Legend of Zelda, it lost the other important part of the equation by cutting the usual dungeon designs. Echoes of Wisdom shows that the dungeons can be incorporated in a freeform design.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

One of the big features of Breath of the Wild was the size of the world. That feeling of leaving the Great Plateau and realizing it was just a fraction of the full world was unforgettable. Tears of the Kingdom provided an even larger map, but the impact was smaller. Upping the ante further in the next game likely wouldn't even make players blink. I know I certainly don't want a bigger world than what we saw in Tears of the Kingdom.

I think that Nintendo and the Zelda team did a great job of making sure the worlds in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom didn't feel too empty or devoid of purpose. With that said, Echoes of Wisdom has me wondering if a more compact world might be best. We don't have to go all the way back to the way things were. Echoes of Wisdom manages to make a world that feels big and enjoyable to explore, but also more guided. Without a need to seed a gigantic sprawling map with secrets, each one also feels more meaningful.

The Switch era of The Legend of Zelda has been incredible, but the new formula is as prone to stagnation as the old one. The series should always be moving forward, and there are lessons to be learned from Echoes of Wisdom. Rein in the size of the open world without sacrificing its organic, non-linear feel. Bring back those wonderful puzzle-packed dungeons, and let us continue to break them. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom threads that needle, and its ideas can do the same for future games.

Dragon Quest Walk 5th anniversary fan book

Square Enix has opened pre-orders for a Dragon Quest Walk fan book to mark the mobile game's 5th anniversary, which fell in September 2024. People can place orders for the book on the Japanese Square Enix e-Store at 1,980 yen (~$13.30). The company will release the book in mid-November 2024.

This book will contain numerous articles that will interest players of the Dragon Quest-themed location-based game. Besides a dialogue between Yuji Horii and the mobile game's producer Takamasa Shiba, the book will also contain a new analysis of the players' gameplay behaviors. In addition, it will also have coverage of in-game souvenir items from playing the game in Taiwan, which Square Enix has made available since March 2023.

Each copy of the book will also contain a spell code that rewards a Metal King Coin in the actual game. Square Enix will set up a webpage where people can input the code in mid-November 2024.

Square Enix first launched Dragon Quest Walk for iOS and Android mobile devices in Japan on September 12, 2019. The company recorded over 5 million downloads for the game a week after launch, which it also owed to the Dragon Quest series' sheer popularity in Japan despite releasing the game only in the country. More than four-and-a-half years later in April 2024, Sensor Tower revealed that revenue from the game had exceeded $2 billion.

The Dragon Quest Walk 5th Anniversary Official Fan Book will be available on November 15, 2024.

Nintendo Alarmo Clock Being Sold via Lottery in Japan

The newly announced Nintendo Alarmo Sound Clock will be sold via lottery in Japan. The company has temporarily suspended sales for the Alarmo clock via the My Nintendo Store due to the large volume of orders.

Those wanting to acquire the new Alarmo Sound Clock in Japan will need to own a Nintendo Switch Online subscription in order to apply for the lottery. In a message shared via the official Nintendo social media (formerly Twitter) account, the company apologized to customers for the lack of units, which has led to not everyone wanting to obtain an Alarmo to be able to purchase it.

Additionally, Nintendo confirmed in the same message that the company is currently looking into increasing the production of the Alarmo Sound Clock in order to satisfy the high demand for the product. While the Alarmo clock is available in Japan since October 9, 2024, there is no North American release date for the clock other than an early 2025 window.

Furthermore, Japanese social media users have started to share images of scalpers in second hand websites selling the Alarmo clock for over 20,000 yen (approximately $135).

The Nintendo Sound Clock Alarmo is now available in Japan and will continue to be sold via lottery. In North America the clock costs $99.99 and is now available for pre-order directly from Nintendo.

Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Monster Wrangler and Arena Detailed

Square Enix already confirmed that some of the new Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D additions would be a Monster Wrangler job that lets you catch creatures to fight in the Monster Arena. Now there are even more details about how the new job and feature work, as well as screenshots showing them off.

In terms of the Monster Wrangler, it is tied to recruiting monsters of course. You can see if recruitable characters are in an area with Animal Instinct, then actually approach one if you have one in your party. It becomes more effective as a class as you recruit monsters, since that unlocks new skills. The Monster Pile-On attack damage is also tied to recruited monsters.

As for the Monster Arena in Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D, you can take characters rescued with a Monster Wrangler to fight. Each one can be befriended in different ways. You can also get buffs for making sure you do things like acquire all the Slimes, as any Slime you add to a team would be more powerful after. All fighters are 3v3, and there are multiple arenas to visit.

Here are all the latest  Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D screenshots:

Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D will come to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC on November 14, 2024.

Ahead of the Metaphor: ReFantazio launch, Atlus shared a new concept video like the one for Project Re Fantasy in 2016.

In 2016, Atlus shared a Project Re Fantasy concept video to highlight what the eventual game will involve, and now in 2024 there's a Metaphor: ReFantazio second one to follow it. It begins with a look at the novel that the hero carries throughout the game, then discusses concepts and ideas about a "promised land."

The new Metaphor: ReFantazio "Concept Video 2" begins with a discussion of the many tribes in the world. It then romanticizes how much better things could be if there was "one tribe." It mentions how that would facilitate travel. From there, it discusses the use of magic. It brings up how sorcery leads to war.

After that, the "promised land" is described. It would feature megalopolises with tall glass towers, coaches (cars), and a notion that "people's lives are all equal." After discussing this "utopia" and "fantasy," it suggests a hero could make things better.

Here's the full video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3GnFNNvmRk&ab_channel=SEGAAsia%28EN%29

As a comparison, here is the very first Project Re Fantasy concept video teasing Metaphor: ReFantazio. It was about what the goal and idea was when developing the title.

Atlus also shared that the game's ad appeared in Times Square in New York City.

https://twitter.com/Atlus_West/status/1844094311324860885

Metaphor: ReFantazio will come to the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on October 11, 2024. There is also a demo available.

The next FFVII Ever Crisis major addition is The First Soldier Episode 2 Chapter 1, which introduces young Angeal to the game.

Square Enix teased Episode 2 of The First Soldier storyline in FFVII Ever Crisis and confirmed we'll see a younger version of Angeal Hewley debut when it launches. The first chapter debuts on October 16, 2024, and it seems he'll be playable then.

The Angeal we're familiar with in Crisis Core FFVII is already a SOLDIER 1st Class and is in his 20s. Like Sephiroth, this version of him is much younger and a new recruit. He also wields the Buster Sword that he eventually passes down to Zack and ends up in Cloud's hands.

The trailer begins with an introduction to Wutai, where The First Soldier Episode 2 will take place in FFVII Ever Crisis. We get hints of Sephiroth in front of a massive fire. However, while he features prominently in this installment, it seems Angeal may be the star. We see him leading conversations in story segments. Also, this takes place before he and Sephiroth become friends, as the latter is cold to him. It seems we'll actually control Angeal as we explore areas, as well as fight as him. The end of the teaser also suggests we'll see Hojo make an appearance.

Here's the first look at FFVII Ever Crisis The First Soldier Episode 2 Chapter 1:

Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is available on PCs and mobile devices, and its The First Soldier Episode 2 storyline appears on October 16, 2024. Angeal made his debut in Crisis Core: FFVII, which is on the PS4, PS5, PSP, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.

Danganronpa Kyoko Kirigiri Nendoroid - global pre-orders opened

Good Smile Company has opened worldwide pre-orders for its upcoming Nendoroid of Kyoko Kirigiri from Spike Chunsoft's Danganronpa series. People can place orders for the new chibi action figure on its Japanese international website at ¥6,800. Those who reside in the U.S. and Canada can instead head to Good Smile Online Shop U.S., where the same product is available at $43.99.

Earlier in October 2024, the company shared a sample image of the Nendoroid prototype that has been fully painted. However, it did not reveal the chibi figure's pre-order and release windows prior to today's announcement. The figure will now appear worldwide in 2025, although North America will get it later in the final quarter of the year.

With pre-orders for the Nendoroid now available, Good Smile Company has also published more sample images that show the items that it will include in the set. It will have three facial expression parts for Kyoko: a normal face, a blushing face, and a serious face that depicts her talking during an interrogation session.

The set will also come with Cup Gokubuto noodles that the owner can actually splash on her head. People who order the Kyoko Kirigiri Nendoroid set on Good Smile Company's web stores can also receive a bonus exclusive base that features the Japanese Danganronpa logo and the name "Kirigiri Kyouko" written in katakana.

Here's a closer look at the new Nendoroid:

Good Smile Company will close the pre-order window for the Danganronpa Nendoroid of Kyoko Kirigiri on November 20, 2024. It will start shipping the finished figures from Japan in May 2025 and North America in Q4 2025.

Mega Man 11 Scramble Thunder and Pile Drive model kits by Kotobukiya

Kotobukiya has opened pre-orders for two new plastic model kits based on Capcom's Mega Man 11. These kits will separately feature Mega Man in his Scramble Thunder and Pile Driver versions. Both of them will have the same price tag of 8,580 yen (~$57.55).

These kits will depict Mega Man in two of the special weapon versions that appeared in the classic series' eleventh mainline entry. In the original game, Mega Man can get the Scramble Thunder by defeating Fuse Man and the Pile Driver set by clearing Impact Man's stage.

Even though Kotobukiya listed the kits as non-scale, they should be interchangeable with not only each other but also the regular Mega Man kit released in 2023. The Pile Driver set will have an overall height of around 13.5 cm (~5.31 inches). The Scramble Thunder kit will be taller at 14.7 cm (~5.79 inches) due to the helmet's shape. Each kit will also come with a different set of facial expression parts.

These Mega Man 11 model kits have been under development for quite some time. Kotobukiya had previously shared sample images of unpainted prototypes for the two kits in February 2024. The company has since published newer sample images with the prototypes already fully painted, which also signify that both kits are ready for pre-orders.

Kotobukiya will release the Mega Man 11 Scramble Thunder model kit first in April 2025. The Pile Driver Mega Man model kit will follow the month after in May 2025.
