PCGamesN Monday, October 21, 2024 7:10 PM Worshippers of Cthulhu is a game name that oozes with eldritch intrigue, but if this is your first time coming across it, you may be surprised to learn that it's not a dark RPG, or a creepy narrative adventure. Cover will have work with Bearbrick to sell bear figures that look like the Hololive Vtubers Houshou Marine or Hoshimachi Suisei . They'll appear in the Hololive Production Official Shop from October 24, 2024.
The key visual for the collaboration shows Marine and Suisei standing in front of their Bearbricks. Suisei's Bearbrick is blue, with crown designs in the ears, a paid design, a star in the collar, and stars in the eyes. As for Marine's, the eye is a heart and there's an eyepatch over one eye. One of the ears also resembles her pirate hat, and the Bearbrick is "wearing" an outfit similar to hers. Both VTubers were involved in the design of their respective Bearbrick.
Both Hololive Bearbrick bear figures cost 19,800 JPY ($131.40) each. The backs of the Bearbrick's head also includes a short handwritten message from the Hololive VTuber it resembles. You'll be able to get either the 100% version (70 mm) or the 400% (280 mm) version and it seems that they're the same price.
Hoshimachi Suisei and Houshou Marine are both popular VTubers with hololive. Suisei debuted in 2018 and is one of the earliest talents from hololive. As of the time of writing, she has over 2.5 million subscribers on her YouTube channel. As for Houshou Marine, she debuted as part of hololive Fantasy in 2019. Her generation mates include Usada Pekora and Shirogane Noel. Marine currently has over 3.49 million subscribers on her YouTube.
The hololive Bearbrick figures will appear in the official shop from October 24, 2024.

The new Edens Zero game will appear on PS5, on top of the previously announced Xbox Series X and Windows PC. Konami first unveiled the game during the October 2024 Xbox Partner Preview showcase.
Here's a trailer for the upcoming Edens Zero game:
This is the same trailer from the showcase. It shows off some of the special moves that the main characters will be able to use, as well as some scenes from the story. In terms of the genre, it'll be an action RPG. From the trailer, it seems like you'll be able to chain together combos and play as multiple different characters, and more information on its battle system will likely appear closer to its release date. There will be an original story with lots of exploration. According to a press release, you'll be able to travel all around Blue Garden.
Hiro Mashima and Kodansha—the original author and the publishing company—supervised the game during its production. This is to maintain accuracy to the source material. Aside from his work on Edens Zero, Mashima's better known as the manga author and artist of Fairy Tail, which is one of the best-selling manga of all time. He also wrote Rave Master and contributed illustrations to media like Bakemonogatari.
The Edens Zero video game will come out in 2025 for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC. There is an official website as well, though it's pretty barebones at the moment.

Sanrio will release collaboration figures of Ojamajo Doremi, with items appearing from October 22, 2024. There are six potential figures to get and they're available via online gacha. [Thanks, Hobby Dengeki!]
The characters you can get are Doremi, Hazuki, Aiko, Hello Kitty, My Melody, and Cinnamoroll. They're a little hard to see, but each human character has ears in the shapes of the mascot they're paired with. Doremi's with Hello Kitty, Hazuki's with My Melody, and Aiko's with Cinnamoroll. The Sanrio mascots also have elements from their human counterparts. They're wearing the hats, a very basic form of their costume, and accessories.
It costs 400 JPY ($2.65) per attempt, and you'll receive your figure some time in late February 2025. Bandai notes that there's a possibility these toys will appear in physical gacha machines before the ones from online gacha ship out. This means that if you're willing to hedge your bets, you can wait until they appear in gachapon machines to get them immediately instead of needing to wait until next year.
Ojamajo Doremi is a magical girl anime from Toei Animation that aired from 1999 to 2003. There are several adaptations, such as manga, anime films, and video games. It focuses on the adventures of Doremi, Hazuki, and Aiko, who are elementary schoolgirls who become witch apprentices after Doremi accidentally turns the owner of a magic shop (a witch) into a witch frog. In order to return the witch to her human body, Doremi needs to pass witch tests to become a real witch while keeping her identity secret.
The Ojamajo Doremi Sanrio figures will appear on Bandai's Gachapon Online from October 22, 2024 and will ship out some time in late February 2025.

Batman: Arkham Shadow, the latest Meta Quest 3 pack-in and a follow-up to the much-respected Arkham console games, seeks to put you in the role of the caped crusader more directly than before. And though this isn't quite the first VR Batman game, it's certainly the first larger-scale attempt. So how is it? And is it worth buying a headset to play?
Developer Camouflaj, perhaps best known these days for its work on Iron Man VR, has been focusing its efforts on virtual reality, and it shows in Batman: Arkham Shadow through its well-considered (if conventional) setups. It's also a bit slow to get going? Lots of early-game tutorials make sure you know what to do, as if it's your first VR game. Which, for some, may be the case, as it becomes the Quest's latest system seller.
Shadow follows the events of Batman: Arkham Origins and is most inspired by the confined gameplay of Arkham Asylum. There's a ton of well-known voice talent, including a lot from the old Arkham cast! And that's a good investment for this game, which is so much about those voices. You're set off to take down the Rat King, a newly-created villain for the game, but along the way you see a lot of characters you might know.
Fundamentally, this game is about punching. Which, hey, VR does well! You complete a series of quick-time events to fight, throwing specific punches and countering through various means. This isn't a "think about your opponents' weaknesses" game; it's decided for you. Which is fine? There are so many enemies to fight in this game, and it would rather see you push through them quickly.
It's in larger room encounters that Batman: Arkham Shadow is at its best. In these, you use perches, vents and such to help pick off enemies one by one, studying movements and bringing in some of your gadgets to help when needed. It's during these fights that Shadow truly opens up and lets you be creative. When we started watching guard patterns and scouting out just the right vantage points for unseen takedowns, that felt really nice. This is, fundamentally, an accurate recreation of the Arkham scheme, and just how enjoyable that was to people is a lot of why this game exists! But the perspective does change a lot about how it feels.
Taking out foes and finding hidden collectibles contributes to an experience meter, allowing you to upgrade various abilities. It's also a game that likes giving you new abilities from time to time, as you find a need in the mission, climb to the roof for a delivery and then head back down to use it. A lot more time is spent in the process in this game, physically moving from place to place. We suppose it's a good way to break up combat sequences and keep you immersed in the identity, but do be prepared for the time investment.
There's still something of a theme park-like ethos to "big-budget" VR game design. Environments are more set dressing than places to spend lots of time. You get a lot of exposition through audio between encounters. It's also more than happy to use that audio to not-so-subtly nudge you to your next objective. Rarely does Batman: Arkham Shadow want you to stop and smell the roses, and doing so will result in increasingly direct reminders of the thing to do next.
And maybe that's for the best! Batman: Arkham Shadow is full of dark environments with similar sorts of dingy decoration. It's true to the source material, and the low lighting does help mitigate the inevitable visual downgrades you get when rendering the resolution and double display of VR. It's an action game through and through, and other Quest titles are happy to provide different pacing for those who want it.
That said, Batman: Arkham Shadows is not a bad looking VR game, and Camouflaj has clearly been pulling out tricks to get the most out of the hardware. For example, there's some pre-rendered lighting in spots, putting your focus on particular corners. You can see the seams, sometimes. For example, we moved a grate from a green-tinged vent, and it stayed bright and green. But it's likely worth those exceptions.
Batman: Arkham Shadow feels comfortable to play in a small room or even seated, with some creative use of the crouch button to reach lower objects. Conversely, the game doesn't do a heck of a lot for room-scale players, but it's likely a compromise worth making for the game. Other titles will make you want to walk around; this is extremely a stick-to-move experience.
We've encountered some bugs along the way, getting stuck on craggy rocks or having doors fall down and leave invisible barriers instead of opening. These are the sorts of things we expect will be patched up relatively quickly, but still thought it worth noting for early players. Generally, reloading the checkpoint has solved the issue, but sometimes that means losing a few minutes of progress. We also had a bit of difficulty with the cape controls, as the activation wasn't as reliable as we wanted. Hopefully that can be tuned a bit!
While it may not have the immersive mechanics to be a great VR introduction, Batman: Arkham Shadow is fun to play and faithful to its Arkham predecessors. And yeah, picking off enemies one-by-one feels great.
Batman: Arkham Shadow, developed by Camouflaj and published by Meta, is available now for Meta Quest 3 and 3S. It's included with new headsets, and costs $49.99 for other buyers.

The first episode of the special edited version of the One Piece anime has been delayed. The episode was originally set to air on October 27, 2024, and it will instead debut a week later on November 3.
The reason for the special edited One Piece anime episode delay is due to the conflicting schedules of the original release date of the anime episode and the MLB World Series both coinciding on October 27, 2024. Toei Animation announced back in October 12, 2024 that the Fish-Man Island arc of the One Piece anime series would receive a special edited version. The objective of this re-release is to touch up some of the scenes in the anime to increase the visuals and animation quality using the latest technology.
While the Fish-Man Island arc of the One Piece anime is being slightly updated, this is not to be confused with The One Piece anime remake announced by Netflix back in December 2023. While we know when the special edited version of the current One Piece anime will air, The One Piece anime remake is currently in production without a release date announced.
The One Piece anime is streaming on Crunchyroll and Netflix and the manga is handled by Viz Media outside Japan. Meanwhile, the live-action One Piece adaptation is available on Netflix.

HoYoVerse shared new details about three Honkai: Star Rail characters in a Genius Society report, and among the discussed individuals is the secretive Polka Kakamond. While she's been referenced by Herta in the game so far, we've never heard from her or seen her.
HoYoVerse's new insights into Honkai: Star Rail's Polka Kakamond don't show any actual pictures of her, as the Genius Society member is known for having destroyed all images of herself across the galaxy. She's described as an assassin and the person who possibly took out Emperor Rupert, a fellow society member, during the Machine Empire Crisis and First Emperor's War. It also referred to her as the "Lord of Silence" and is rumored to have killed others in the group. She's also tied to the Aeon Nous and follows their path of Erudition.
Rubert and Rubert II were also brought up. Rupert was a computer and former member who also declared themselves an emperor of the Machine Empire. They created the Anti-Organic Equation to kill what they considered "inferior" organic life. They started The First Emperor's War and were killed as part of it, leading to the rise of Rupert II. Rupert II was involved in the Second Emperor's War and created the Scepter system that acts as computational interference devices. The IPC gave that to the Intelligentsia Guild, which has since led to the Scholar's Strife war.
The third Genius Society Honkai: Star Rail character discussed by HoYoVerse is Dr. Primitive, who came up in discussion with Galaxy Rangers like Boothill and among Herta, Screwllum, and Ruan Mei. He despises and experiments on human beings. He's also known for creating memetic viruses, leading the Galaxy Rangers on chases, assaulting the planet Vonwacq, and loving bananas.
Odds are, we won't get to see any of these new Honkai: Star Rail Genius Society characters for a while. The 2.6 patch is going to be focused on some Penacony adventures. It will introduce the Galaxy Ranger Rappa, who will debut as the latest 5-star unit in the game. In 2.7, Fugue and Sunday will appear.
Honkai: Star Rail is available on the PS5, PC, and mobile devices. The 2.6 update arrives on October 23, 2024.
