Satisfactory style building game Shapez 2 gets biggest ever discount

One of the best feelings you can get in a building game is when you look down at all you've created, taking pleasure in thousands of machines working to bring order from chaos. It's a feeling you can get in titles like Infinifactory, Factorio, Dyson Sphere Program, or Satisfactory, but one of its purest forms comes in Shapez 2. It's been making waves in early access since August, but now it has just had its price slashed in a sale that should bring it to a much bigger audience.

Valve just unveiled a white Steam Deck OLED, but you'll need to order it quickly

Valve has just dropped a new flavor of its acclaimed handheld, with the new white Steam Deck OLED transforming the previously all-black gaming device into a classy white and gray model. Despite being ostensibly the same device, but with a different colored shell, the result looks strikingly different from the original device, with the white heavily contrasting against the black screen.

This isn't the first white handheld, of course. The Asus ROG Ally is already available in white as standard, as are some other devices, but Valve doesn't often venture outside the Model T Ford color scheme for the Steam Deck, and we love to see it. As we found in our Steam Deck OLED review, this device's amazing screen, and use of SteamOS rather than Windows, makes it the best handheld gaming PC right now, even if other devices have more processing power available.

Dungeons of Blood and Dream is a new psychedelic RPG with the best art style

Dungeon crawlers have had a long and storied history with PC gaming, from titles like Akalabeth, Eye of the Beholder, or Dungeon Master to more modern offerings like Dark and Darker, Dungeonborne, and Legend of Grimrock. There are some truly unique twists on the genre out there too, and Dungeons of Blood and Dream is one of them. Even outside of its art style, which is already enough to set it apart, it brings in some neat roguelike elements that make this entirely its own thing, and it's out now.

Valve dev shares extremely rare clip of a stunning shelved adventure game

However, the studio's next game, In the Valley of Gods, may never come to light due to Valve's acquisition of it. Well, here are six stunning seconds of what you could've won.

kanaria fries mcdonald's

Kanaria, a Vocaloid producer known for his songs like "King," "Envy Baby," and "Queen," wrote a song for McDonald's fries. You can listen to the song via the official McDonald's X (formerly known as Twitter) account.

https://twitter.com/McDonaldsJapan/status/1855573620984041497

The song is a full cover of "King," his most famous song. However, the lyrics are different and the title is now "Fries." The lyrics are about someone who wants to eat fries since burgers aren't enough, so they go to eat McDonald's fries while there's a sale. This is one of several collaborations from McDonald's Japan for its current fries campaign. Until November 22, 2024, you only need to pay 250 JPY ($1.65) for M or L sized fries.

This is not the first time that Kanaria produced a song as part of a collaboration. In July 2024, Kanaria wrote "Champion," which was the final Project Voltage song. Project Voltage was a crossover campaign between Pokemon and Hatsune Miku.

Creators other than Kanaria who're part of the McDonald's campaign include Elu of Nijisanji and Irasutoya, a website that specializes in royalty-free clip art illustrations. Elu likely appeared as part of this collaboration due to her name, as it sounds the same as "L" in Japanese. As for the Irasutoya collaboration, there are gratis pictures you can use of people of all ages cheerily holding up fries.

The McDonald's 250 JPY fries promotion is only in Japan and it will last until November 22, 2024.

Japanese actor and singer Takumi Kitamura will be the first guest on Hideo Kojima's radio show, "Let's Make This The Greatest 10 Minutes," or "Koji10." His episode will air on November 13, 2024.

Kitamura started his career in 2007. However, it was in 2017 when he got his first lead role as Haruki Shiga in the film adaptation of Let me Eat Your Pancreas. Other roles he's played since then include Yusuke in the Netflix adaptation of Yu Yu Hakusho, Takemichi in Tokyo Revengers, and Kotaro in The Good Wife. Kitamura has not appeared in anything Kojima worked on. However, he is a huge fan of Kojima's work. According to the press release, he talked a lot about games, movies, and his admiration for Kojima.

Hideo Kojima is one of the more famous game developers and designers from Japan thanks to his work on series like Metal Gear Solid. echoes of vana'diel ffxi ffxiv

In an interview with Game Watch about Final Fantasy XIV Version 7.1, Naoki Yoshida mentioned that the staff who worked on FFXIV Echoes of Vana'diel also played FFXI back when that was the main MMO of the franchise. The interview also gave some information on the collaboration event between FFXIV and FFXI. [Thanks, Game Watch!]

While discussing how the newest FFXIV patch hooks in players by introducing characters and worlds that were in FFXI, Yoshida mentions that several staff members for FFXIV are former FFXI players. They were so into the game that they forgot to eat and sleep, and Yoshida even jokes that they were about to toss away their future to play the game. It's unknown if Yoshida is referencing the poopsocking phenomenon with this comment, or if it simply means they were too focused on the game to study or work. However, the passion that those players had for MMORPG and games translated into them becoming game developers later in life.

Not all of the staff working on FFXIV are people who played FFXI before entering the industry. Some members of the FFXI development staff are also working on the Echoes of Vana'diel series. Part of their duties is offering feedback on equipment designs for different roles and rewards.

Before the interview started discussing staff overlaps, Game Watch asked about how Iroha previously appeared in the Maiden's Rhapsody event, and wondered if that event had any connection to Echoes of Vana'diel. Yoshida replied that it doesn't, since it would make the story more complicated and affect FFXI as well. If that happens, then FFXI players might get annoyed that their game's story changed as a result of FFXIV. So Echoes of Vana'diel is exclusive to the FFXIV world.

Final Fantasy XIV is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC.

Prime 1 Working on Dizzy and Ramlethal Guilty Gear Figures

Prime 1 Studio announced two new Guilty Gear figures of Ramlethal Valentine and Dizzy being released in collaboration with Arc System Works. There are no details on the price of the figures nor a release date, and pre-orders for the figures will open in the future.

Both figures will be 1/4 scale statues. The Ramlethal figure will be based on her design on Guilty Gear Strive, while the Dizzy figure features the character as she was seen in Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2. The figures were announced as part of the latest Prime 1 Studio "Next Level" showcase featuring multiple upcoming figures from a variety of popular media franchises, including the recently revealed Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Masterline figures.

In the showcase video, the Ramlethal and Dizzy figures were shown as unpainted prototypes at around the 1 hour and 30 second mark. Dizzy is accompanied by her signature "defense systems," Necro and Undine, while Ramlethal's figure includes her familiars, Venus and Velva, that carry her massive swords.

You can see the new Guilty Gear figures of Ramlethal and Dizzy here:

As a reminder, Dizzy is the latest DLC character to release on Guilty Gear Strive, and she released on October 31, 2024. However, in the new entry in the series, Dizzy has a different design than the one shown in the figures above.

The Prime 1 Studio figures of Ramlethal and Dizzy from Guilty Gear are currently in development. More information about their price and release dates will appear in the future. Guilty Gear Strive is readily available worldwide on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC, and arcades.
