This really cool mini PC hides under your desk, and now we want a gaming version

PC cooling specialist Arctic has come out with a new mini gaming PC from the left field. Dubbed the Senza, the company describes it as an "under desk PC," and it comes packed with a Ryzen 5000 APU to turn your entire desk into a PC.

The Senza has a lot in common with the slew of mini PCs that are currently popping up everywhere. However, rather than using the hardware inside the best mini gaming PC designs, it instead falls back on a two-generation old processor. Arctic has specced up the base model with an AMD Ryzen 5 5500GT, while more powerful versions use the Ryzen 7 5700G and 5700G Pro.

The NZXT Flex program has been the subject of much criticism.      MSI MPG X870E Carbon WiFi review: An excellent AMD Ryzen motherboard

With a price of $500 / £430, you'd be right to expect the MSI MPG X870E Carbon WiFi to look great, offer an abundance of high-end features, and generally leave you with little reason to lust after an upgrade until it no longer offers support for the latest processors. It's the company's most expensive MPG Carbon WiFi motherboard yet, and it certainly offers plenty of headline features, including Wi-Fi 7, USB 4, PCIe 5.0 SSD and GPU support, and a handsome appearance.

There's a lot going on here in terms of what's been crammed onto the PCB and, of course, there are the added benefits of the MSI MPG X870E Carbon WiFi using AMD's best gaming motherboard chipset, X870E, rather than just the plain old X870 chipset. This gives advantages in terms of the number of high-speed USB ports and PCIe lanes available, meaning you're less likely to need to watch out for SSDs stealing PCIe lanes from your graphics card, for example.

As well as kitting out this board with cutting-edge features, MSI has also given its EFI a makeover with a new HD interface and redesigned layout, and it certainly hasn't cut back on other features either. You get plenty of overclocking and testing tools, and even thermal probe inputs that can feed into your fan speeds, which is useful for cooling specific areas of your PC, as well as with custom water cooling.

Ex Blizzard boss slams Marvel Rivals for copying Overwatch with Black Widow

There are a lot of parallels to draw between Blizzard's Overwatch and Netease's upcoming hero shooter, Marvel Rivals. Former Blizzard boss Mike Ybarra has criticized Marvel Rivals in a new post on X, suggesting the game is a "copy" of Overwatch. Specifically, he takes aim at the newly announced Black Widow, who he compares to Talon's blue-skinned beauty, Widowmaker. Cue that Spider-Man meme.

AMD just accidentally confirmed its new Radeon RX 8600 and 8800 graphics cards

Two of the names of new AMD Radeon graphics cards appear to have been confirmed. A piece of code found on Github reveals that, at least internally, AMD plans to stick with its current naming for at least this generation.

The new AMD Radeon RX 8800 and 8600 are directly referenced in a patch for AMD's ROCm software. This is a software stack meant for artificial intelligence projects, an area where the company is keen to make a splash. While the best graphics card options for AI have typically been based on Nvidia GPUs, AMD has been pushing ahead to ensure it's not entirely left behind.

LG Ultragear 32GS95UE review: a 480Hz and 4K OLED gaming monitor in one

On paper, the LG Ultragear 32GS95UE is one of the most desirable and capable OLED gaming monitors around. Combining a large 32-inch screen size with a 4K resolution, it delivers a really sharp image while also being able to skip along at a speedy 240Hz refresh rate. But that's not all. Tap its dual-mode button and it will switch to 480Hz at 1080p, for an ultra-fast experience that's ideal for competitive first person shooters.

The combination, along with its superb overall image quality and ultra-fast response time means this screen is easily one of the best gaming monitors around. However, with a high price and, also with LG OLED technology having previously disappointed us in some ways, it's worth digging deeper into whether this is the right screen for you.

One of my favourite anime shows is Sakura Quest. It's the story of an unemployed lady from Tokyo who accidentally gets herself appointed "Queen" of a struggling backwater village by the regional tourist board. From that case of mistaken identity proceeds 25 whole-ass episodes of Machiavellian haggling with crusty bigwigs over things like organising a concert. It's playfully dull, heartily mundane entertainment. No supernatural flourishes here - just the magic of paperwork and the thrill of bureaucracy.

I'm reminded of Sakura Quest by Danchi Days, a forthcoming cosy adventure with irresponsibly enticing Game Boy Advance-style visuals. It casts you as Hoshino, a teenage girl who's just moved to an old "danchi" housing complex and is trying to revive the yearly tradition of a summer festival. How will she do this? By means of haggling - haggling, and a bit of CSI.

The world is changing. Geopolitics are fractious and unnerving, environmental catastrophe seems more likely each day, and rampant digitally-disseminated disinformation further erodes our trust in one another. But I'll let lesser reporters tell you about that stuff. I'm here to report that Capcom have made the big bonk feel good again. They've heard player feedback on the missing weapon oomph caused by the lack of hitstop in the Monster Hunter Wilds beta, and they're bringing back the bonk.

Here's a handy breakdown of the issue by X user Blue Stigma, but briefly: hitstop is the brief pause in an attack animation the moment the weapon connects with an enemy, giving you a real sense of bonkitude and making say, a hammer feel different from a dagger. As the video showed, the hitstop was greatly reduced in Wilds compared to previous Monster Hunters, and many players reported the combat just feeling a bit off as a result.

I'll come out and say it: I had no idea, really, what Infinity Nikki was about before I dove in. I knew from some trailers that it was a free-to-play game about collecting pretty dresses and exploring a relentlessly positive open world. In those respects, I was correct.

I'd just missed the really big part - the fact it's a pacifistic Genshin Impact wearing a pretty dress. And as that realisation sunk in for the first time, my heart also sank with it. I really tried, I mean really tried to get into Nikki's gacha offerings; to delight in its menagerie of menus and cash in countless currencies for fun socks or glitzy tiaras. Sadly, I won't be logging back in ever again.

hoshimachi suisei moana

Hololive Vtuber Hoshimachi Suisei has a bit part playing a character in the Japanese version of Moana 2. She also sang and uploaded a cover of "Beyond," which is one of the theme songs in the new Moana movie.

According to hololive's post on social media, Hoshimachi Suisei plays a villager in the Japanese dub of Moana 2, and it encourages viewers to try and listen for her voice. This is not the first time that hololive Vtubers voiced background characters in the Japanese dub of movies. In early November 2024, five Vtubers who were part of the promotional campaign for Venom: The Last Dance voiced background characters in the film.

You can also check out Suisei's cover of "Beyond," the new Moana movie theme song, below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJBc-lFRpXM

This music video is a tribute to the film, and Suisei appears wearing an islander outfit. In the description of the video, she stated that Disney asked her to sing this song, because she shares many of Moana's characteristics. In particular, she has a strong will to continue down the path she chose, even if she's unsure of what the future holds, and she has the courage to continue challenging herself in a new world. Suisei also says that she sang the song with excitement that contains a hint of anxiety.

Moana 2 will air in Japanese theaters from December 6, 2024. The movie premiered in English on November 21, 2024 at the Lanikuhonua Cultural Institute in Hawaii, before appearing in the United States on November 27, 2024.

Monster Hunter engagement rings by U-Treasure

U-Treasure has revealed that it is producing and selling new engagement rings based on thirteen monsters from Capcom's Monster Hunter series. The company has opened orders for the new rings on its web store in Japan.

The new rings will cost much more than the wedding rings U-Treasure had previously released in 2021. All thirteen rings will have the same price tag of ¥220,000 (~$1,468.50). U-Treasure will use Platinum 950 to produce the ring, with additional K18 Yellow Gold plating on the area near the 0.1-carat diamond. While all rings may look similar from the outside, the insides of each ring will have a unique-colored gem and engraving that symbolizes the featured monster.

Here is the full list of monsters featured in this ring lineup:

  1. Rathalos
  2. Rathian
  3. Teostra
  4. Lunastra
  5. Rajang
  6. Magnamalo
  7. Mizutsune
  8. Malzeno
  9. Zinogre
  10. Astalos
  11. Velkhana
  12. Nergigante

Buyers can further customize the rings by adding a string of letters that can contain up to eight alphanumeric characters. People residing outside Japan can also place orders via the WorldShopping widget. However, they must first choose the size based on the Japanese ring size, which ranges from 5 (US 3 1/4) to 19 (US 9 1/8).

The Monster Hunter engagement rings are now available to order via U-Treasure's web store.

Genshin Impact Zhongli and Neuvillette Rerun Banners Return

Two major and beloved Genshin Impact characters are about to return, as the rerun banners for Zhongli and Neuvillette come back on December 10, 2024. They'll appear alongside an Epitome Invocation weapon banner with their signature weapons Vortex Vanquisher and Tome of the Eternal Flow.

Zhongli is a five-star Geo character in Genshin Impact. He's best known for his Dominus Lapidis Elemental Skill. That spawns a shield and creates a Stone Stele that deals damage to enemies at increments and can be climbed. Ideally, someone would get one Constellation, so up to two of those steles can be active in the field. His signature weapon is the five-star Vortex Vanquisher polearm.

Meanwhile, Neuvillette is a five-star Hydro character known for his O Tears, I Shall Repay Elemental Skill that causes AOE beams of water. His Elemental Burst called O Tides, I Have Returned also causes AOE Hydro damage based on his HP. His signature catalyst is the Tome of the Eternal Flow.

The two banners share the same four-stars. These are the Anemo catalyst-wielder Heizou, the Electro archer Fischl, and the Dendro polearm-user Yaoyao. We've seen all three of these characters before too.

These Genshin Impact rerun banners is particularly notable as they mark the first opportunity for Xbox Series X players to get Zhongli and Neuvillette for the first time. Zhongli has long been considered one of the best support characters in the game, following some patches from HoYoVerse to fix issues. This is due to his shields, which affect the whole party and scale based on his HP. Meanwhile, Neuvillette is considered one of the best primary DPS characters due to his Skill. HoYoVerse even even rolled back a nerf that would have changed how that worked due to player feedback.

At the moment, there's still time to get characters from the first two banners of 5.2. Those are Chasca, a new five-star Anemo character, and the returning Pyro character Lyney.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile devices. The Zhongli and Neuvillette rerun banners are expected to run between December 10-31, 2024.

Foamstars Enters Its Final Season, NieR: Automata Crossover Teased

Square Enix is starting to scale back Foamstars support, as the online multiplayer game with Splatoon-like elements will enter its final Party Goes On season on December 13, 2024. There is a collaboration event coming before the end, however. The last trailer showed 2B and 9S from NieR: Automata will appear in Foamstars.

There's a final trailer going over the last Party Goes On Foamstars season update before new additions end. It starts by showing off shot customization with Foam Core. The Ramzey of Diamonds Squad Mission comes up after that. The Extreme Party Skill Shuffle Party and Pitchside Homerun Party fights followed. It closed out with seasonal skins and the NieR: Automata Foamstars tease.

2B and 9S won't be full playable characters in Foamstars, as the NieR: Automata stars appear as skins instead. We can earn them for free and don't have to pay for them. ΔGITO will be the one dressing as 9S, while Soa can look like 2B.

Here's that reveal:

Square Enix official support noted that Foamstar Cup events will continue after seasonal updates end. All 10 season passes will be available via Season Pass to choose from, so you can earn what you missed. Extreme Parties will still remain, Ranked Party will become Foamstars Cup, and Challenges will still appear as Daily and Event ones.

Party Goes On will be the tenth season for Foamstars since the game launched in February 2024, as well as its final one. The previous one was Soulful Hour. That started on November 7, 2024. Ranked and Extreme Party events appeared alongside that season, as did the new Golden Glow Villa map, Ramzey of Clubs Squad Mission boss, and new customization items.

In case you missed that particular update, you can see it and its new additions in the dedicated trailer below:

Nier Automata anime 2B figure with 1-4 scale

FREEing started accepting orders for its upcoming scale figure of 2B from the NieR Automata Ver1.1a anime. The figure is available for pre-order worldwide via the Japanese international Good Smile Company web store. The companies will formally release the figure in June 2025.

Most of the prior 2B anime figures revealed in the past—made by companies like Good Smile Company, Max Factory, and Proof—had a scale of 1/7. The newly revealed figure will have a larger 1/4 scale with an overall height of around 44.5 cm (17.52 inches). To get this figure, people must spend ¥44,000 (~$292.85) before adding shipping costs.

The new large figure will be mostly static without any movable body or clothing parts. However, FREEing will provide a swappable alternate head that shows 2B's full face with her eyes from the anime adaptation.

Here are some of the sample images for the upcoming figure:

2B will not be the only NieR Automata character to have a 1/4 scale figure. FREEing also revealed that A2 will get her own figure. Good Smile Company added that A2's figure will be available later than 2B.

Persona 3 Reload decorated hotel room at Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise

Atlus has published more details on the new Persona 3 Reload collaboration event that will take place at Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise. The company also revealed that the Hotel Sea Paradise Inn inside the area will also have two of its rooms decorated with characters from the game.

Those who are interested in staying inside the decorated rooms must pay at least 23,150 yen (~$154) a night, provided either of the two rooms is still available for the day. There is also a cheaper package at 16,850 yen (~$112), but it will only let people stay in the more widely available undecorated rooms. The latter package will still come with Persona 3 Reload-themed amenities stored inside an eco bag, which include an acrylic memo stand set and a greeting card from Aigis.

Both of the above packages will only apply to the Hotel Sea Paradise Inn. People who want to enter the amusement park will still have to purchase the entry ticket separately. Compared to the first event in February 2024, the ticket price will have a slight increase from 6,000 yen to 6,200 yen (~$41.20). However, this time around, visitors can have a random chance of getting a blue S.E.E.S. band instead of red, and the character sticker rewarded for clearing the stamp rally will appear in portrait orientation as opposed to landscape.
