Okami was a 2006 game of the year winner that never achieved sale success in-line with its critical-acclaim. It's fitting then, if still completely bonkers, that a sequel to the Legend of Zelda-inspired adventure game would get announced at this year's Game Awards. A musical medley on stage revealed we're getting Okami…

Crimson Desert release date window, story, gameplay, and latest news

When is the Crimson Desert release date? First announced in 2019, Crimson Desert is a story-driven adventure from the team behind the Black Desert MMORPG. Four years since its initial reveal, there's still a significant wait ahead for the Crimson Desert release date following an indefinite delay in July 2021. The devs cited the "need to dedicate more time to added new ideas for an even deeper, more enriching game."

We now know that the enrichment process includes petting dogs, carrying sheep on your shoulders, and fighting giant crabs in the magical action-adventure game. I mean, what more could you ask for? Based on the gameplay footage of Crimson Desert so far, it does seem as though nature and animals play a massive part in the world of Pywel. The region looks at first glance like an ancient medieval continent, but it soon becomes apparent that it's filled with magic and mystery. Here's everything we know about Pywel and the Crimson Desert release date so far.

Killing Floor 3 release date window, trailers, and gameplay

When is the Killing Floor 3 release date? It's been nearly seven years since Killing Floor 2 was released, bringing Horzine Biotech's Zeds to a more single-player friendly format following the 6-player co-op experience of the first game. If you thought the series was dead after the less popular VR game of 2017, we've got news for you.

We like to think we willed Killing Floor 3 into existence with our hot take when Behaviour Interactive acquired Killing Floor co-creators Antimatter Games. Whether you have us to thank for manifesting the game or not, a sneak peek during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2023 confirmed that the survival game is in development. Here's what we know about a potential Killing Floor 3 release date window, gameplay, and more.

Dying Light The Beast release date window, gameplay, and news

When is the Dying Light The Beast release date? The newest standalone Dying Light game, now called Dying Light The Beast, originally started out as DL2 DLC. However, once original protagonist Kyle Crane was brought back and the concept and scale of the expansion grew, Dying Light The Beast became, well, a beast of its own.

Though we enjoyed Dying Light 2, the futuristic metropolis setting and lack of survival elements fought off the creepy horror we love about the series. We spoke to the devs about this and more ahead of the TGAs and, thankfully, Techland tells us they've taken player feedback seriously. Dying Light The Beast brings back the horror of Dying Light with terrifying new environments, ties the story in with both DL2 and the first game, and gives players an introduction to the future of the series. Here's everything we know about the Dying Light The Beast release date and the zombie game itself so far.

World of Tanks dev reveals Steel Hunters, a mecha battle royale game

It's been four years since we've seen anything new from Wargaming, the team behind the likes of World of Tanks and its sister title, World of Warships. Starring a cast of Armored Core-style mechs with their own unique abilities, thrust into gameplay loop that blends traditional extraction shooters with the conventional battle royale format, Steel Hunters is the company's newest venture. I got an early glimpse at what it looks like in practice - and, if you're lucky, you can too.

Thief has a new spiritual sequel, built by the Deus Ex and System Shock devs

Perhaps I'm showing my age, but I maintain that the late '90s and early '00s marked the creative height of PC gaming. Half-Life, Deus Ex, System Shock 2, Fallout - the era gave birth to some of the greatest shooters and RPGs of all time. Thief and its two sequels are arguably the greatest works of this period. Stylish, challenging, and early pioneers for a type of environmental storytelling that dominates games to this day, the influence of Looking Glass and Ion Storm's Thief trilogy is hard to overstate. And now, spiritually at least, it's making a return. From PC legends Warren Spector, Greg LoPiccolo, and Paul Neurath, whose collective credits include Deus Ex, System Shock, Ultima, and of course Thief itself, this is a new stealth heist game built on the shoulders of Garrett. Welcome to Thick As Thieves.

Nijisanji English Vtuber Twisty Amanozako Announces Indefinite Hiatus

On December 12, 2024, Nijisanji English Vtuber Twisty Amanozako announced she is on indefinite hiatus. The performer is one of the most recent additions to that branch of Anycolor's company. She's also one of only three new livers to join the division in 2024.

Twisty didn't state a reason for her decision to take a break. However, she did note that this applies to not only performing, but appearing on social media. It is effective immediately, and as such she stated that the Denauth Weekly collab she does every Friday evening with her genmates Klara Charmwood and Ryoma Barrenwort won't be held as planned. Typically, that airs at 8pm PT/11pm ET each week.

Here is the full statement:

https://twitter.com/TwistyAmanozako/status/1867431926174560743

Denauth debuted back in May 2024. Typically, Twisty Amanozako streamed fairly regularly before announcing her hiatus, however the Nijisanji English Vtuber hasn't been that active the week of December 8, 2024. On December 6, 2024, she took part in a Lethal Company collab. On December 7, 2024, she was an active member of Team Blue in a Nijisanji Minecraft Hardcore Team Versus collab.

Twisty isn't the only Nijisanji English Vtuber to recently announce a hiatus. Petra Gurin announced she would be taking a break back at the beginning of December 2024. However, while she isn't streaming and is focusing on school, she is still active on social media. While Aster Arcadia hasn't announced a hiatus, he hasn't been active online since early December 2024 and Anycolor's statement that a third-party investigation is being conducted to investigate accusations of sexual harassment and leaks. His next stream, which would have been a cooking handcam one that was expected to air at the beginning of December 2024, ended up rescheduled for January 30, 2025.

Twisty Amanozako is on hiatus as of December 12, 2024, and there is no return date set for the Nijisanji English Vtuber.

intergalactic the heretic prophet

Near the end of the Game Awards 2024, a trailer for Naughty Dog's newest title Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Most of the trailer focuses on the story, with only a hint of the gameplay at the end of it.

You can watch the trailer for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7TVPoxwi74

In the trailer, we can see that it takes place in a future version of our world. Main character Jordan has a Porsche spaceship, for example. She is a bounty hunter chasing after a member of the Five Aces. However, she ends up stranded on the planet of Sempiria. No one has ever managed to communicate with the planet or leave it, meaning that Jordan has her cut out for her if she wants to escape. From the trailer, we can see that she uses a melee weapon that resembles a laser sword. It's unknown if she'll unlock more as the game goes on.

The game started development in 2020. Neil Druckmann directed it and Trent Reznor composed the score. This is an entirely new IP from Naughty Dog, which previously worked on The Last of Us, Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Daxter, and Uncharted.

Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet will come out on the PS5.

Capcom and Hideki Kamiya Directing Okami Sequel 2

As part of The Game Awards 2024, Capcom revealed the development an Okami sequel directed by original game director Hideki Kamiya. Additionally, the developer will head new Clovers Studio at Capcom when working on Okami 2.

The new trailer didn't show any gameplay. Instead, it was only a teaser of wolf goddess Amaterasu accompanied by the ink style of the original Okami title, with brushwork highlighting how the Celestial Paintbrush can change the world in the sequel just like in the original.

You can check out the announcement trailer for the long awaited Okami 2 here:

https://twitter.com/thegameawards/status/1867416090973811007

The original Okami was developed by Capcom's Clover Studio and released on 2006 for the PlayStation 2. The game would later be ported for the Nintendo Wii, and would later get an HD port for the PS3. Most recently, the game came out for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on December 2017 and Nintendo Switch on August 2018.

As a reminder, an Okami collaboration appeared in Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess back in August 2024 that included Amaterasu in the new Capcom title.

The new Okami title is currently in development by Capcom's Clovers Studio. There is no release date for the game and target platforms have been revealed yet.
