Diablo 4 Game Pass launch is actually happening, and we have a date

When Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard, players naturally wondered if the bright side of such an enormous example of industry consolidation would come with the addition of the latter company's catalog of games to PC Game Pass. While series like Call of Duty, Tony Hawk, and Warcraft still don't seem to be arriving anytime soon, the team at Xbox has just announced that Blizzard's Diablo 4 is on its way to the subscription service. And it's coming very soon.

Escape From Tarkov rival out now on Steam, and it's free

Extraction games are one of the most popular takes on the multiplayer shooter right now, grabbing attention from the more established deathmatch, point capture, and battle royale modes. The genre is pretty well dominated by heavy hitters like Escape From Tarkov, Hunt: Showdown, Dark and Darker, and Deep Rock: Galactic, but that won't stop new attempts from coming out. The latest of these to launch is Hawked, which has just come out of Early Access, and is now available for free on Steam.

Luckily for anyone looking to give it a shot for themselves, the game's demo will be available a little longer than originally planned.

FlexiSpot Ergonomic BS11 Pro/C8 chair review

Most of us have experienced or at least noticed the global shift to home working over the last five years. Because of that, there's been a veritable explosion in the number of companies making office chairs, and the best office chairs are no resigned to being black and boring. They promise style, greater comfort, back support, and if you're lucky, better productivity.

FlexiSpot has been making office furniture like standing desks since 2015, and we rate the E7 and E7 Pro highly for both working and gaming. The company's range of ergonomic chairs share similar benefits to its desks; solid build quality, sensible pricing, and a modern design, and they sit somewhere in the middle of the market compared to premium options from Herman Miller or budget options from unknown brands.

I'm testing FlexiSpot's premium ergonomic office chair; called the BS11 Pro in my UK region and the C8 in the US. Designed to offer consistent back support and a huge amount of customization to make sure you're sitting comfortably, the BS11 Pro is almost FlexiSpot's most luxurious offering, under the Ergonomic Chair BS12 Pro.

I wondered, could it really help me to stop slouching? And after a few weeks of use, would my nagging back pain have reduced? More importantly, is it worth your cash if you spend most of your time sitting at a desk, and need some relief from the posture-related woes that come with doing that?

Back 4 Blood meets Dead Island 2 in new Steam game you can try now

There are plenty of zombie games out there. Players who like their undead mixed with a survival game can spend countless hours in State of Decay. Those who want to mow down giant mobs of shambling enemies are well served by the Dead Rising games. And anyone looking for RPG game systems and buckets of gore have Dead Island 2. Even with all of these options on the table, though, players still can't seem to get enough undead apocalypses. Further evidence of this is the attention that upcoming sandbox zombie game Dread Dawn and its ongoing Steam demo have been garnering.

Palworld guide, tips and tricks, and how to beat

What are the best Palworld beginner's tips? The monster-taming genre might have been popularized on Nintendo handhelds and retro home consoles, but it's enjoyed growing popularity on PC in recent years thanks to the likes of Temtem, Coromon, and Cassette Beasts. Palworld is the latest addition to this beloved niche, and it might be the strangest one yet.

Palworld is, in short, Pokemon with guns. Sure, you can be the very best, like no one ever was – but in this iteration of the creature collector, you can enforce that title with an assault rifle. If that sounds bizarre, wait until you see the assembly lines. If you're ready to get stuck into an RPG that embraces surrealism and satire with all the staple hallmarks of quintessential Pokemon PC games, then be sure to bookmark our comprehensive Palworld guide.

Stunning new survival game struggles to escape Palworld's orbit

Last week, I got a chance to play Nightingale, a new survival-crafting game with a heavy Victorian Gaslamp aesthetic and more than a few mythic curios. It comes from Inflexion Games, which includes some former Bioware staff who worked on Mass Effect and Dragon Age. The basic loop will be familiar to anyone who has brushed against the genre in recent years; build a base, craft tools, and explore. Where Nightingale aims to stand apart, though, is that this busywork is surrounded by a world full of wonder and a story that, quite literally, goes places.

Nightingale's aesthetic grabs me from the word go; thick wool suits, dandy umbrellas, and heaving mustaches. It's a perfect look for the 'frontier' type of exploration the survival game promises. Throw in a story about Fae creatures revealing themselves and changing the course of history itself and I'm sold. The Fae introduced magick (spelled with a 'k' so you know it's serious) to humans and spurred on an unprecedented era of technological advancement.

What is the Bodycam release date? Just when you thought you've seen it all in the FPS genre, now and then a new game comes around to remind you that there's more to be discovered. The idea of a shooter that takes place from the perspective of a body camera isn't entirely new, but this is the first time players have had a chance to go hands-on with this type of game.

When Unrecord, the first game to use the body cam perspective, people were quick to point out that the footage might be fake due to its lifelike visuals. Unlike Unrecord, Bodycam was first shown off to the public with an early access test, so we know for a fact that it's real. Built using Unreal Engine 5, this highly realistic FPS game gives players a new perspective to experience gun combat. I respect a game with wild ambition. Declaring your game "the spiritual successor to Freelancer" is bold and ambitious, considering how the spaceship sim is still so beloved after 20 years that our readers voted it your 16th favourite space game of all time. This ambition is wild when the tiny development team is led by someone best known for replacing Skyrim's dragons with Thomas The Tank Engine. So while I'm not much of a spaceship sort, I had to check out the demo for Underspace, which aims to combine Freelancer shoot-o-trading space action with a dash of Lovecraftian horror.

Tracking technology isn't perfect. Actually, that's an understatement. Tracking technology has many pitfalls, including how Google Maps can be accidentally used to track people, and the fact that if you systematically turn off cookies, your internet browsing experience becomes increasingly bizarre. I am offered adverts for afro hair care products and huge bags of puppy kibble, because the algorithms no longer have any idea who I am or how many small dogs I have. And yet.

Surely this technology has reached the point where, if I open a game for the first time in several weeks, it should be able to tell I haven't played for a long time, and ask if I would like a small refresher of the controls.

Then, once you're in-game, you will see it as an option in when you're picking your character. After you choose who you want to be, say that would be Sonic, you can then select Shadow.

Here's the official art of the Sonic Superstars DLC from Steam, which shows it will put Sonic the Hedgehog in a Shadow costume, rather than transform him into the other character.

As a reminder, we've seen some other free costumes show up for the game already. There's a Holiday one that makes Sonic look like Santa. There's also a Lego Sonic skin that turns him into a minifig.

This comes ahead of a number of Shadow appearances in various forms of Sonic the Hedgehog media. For example, the third live-action movie is going to feature the character. We also learned at the January 2024 State of Play that Sonic x Shadow Generations will launch in Fall 2024 and feature the two title characters as its stars.

Sonic Superstars is available for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.

Review: GUNVOLT RECORDS: Cychronicle Gives Us a Selection of Gunvolt Songs

A rhythm game spin-off based on a property known for its great music usually ends up being a fantastic idea, so GUNVOLT RECORDS: Cychronicle pulling from the Gunvolt series library seems like a good fit! However, a small track list that omits some songs to sell later as DLC and rudimentary design with four difficulty levels can leave it feeling a bit lacking.

There's no overarching story or attempt to provide some excuse for Lola, Lumen, or Luxia taking the stage in GUNVOLT RECORDS: Cychronicle. Rather, it jumps right into teaching folks how to play before sending them into a concert mode to go through variations on 15 songs. There are four types of note indicators to hit in songs. The horizontal bars can appear as single hit or held notes, with the ones on the left side of the screen tied to the left triggers and action buttons on the switch and on the right to the right side. You can hit all of these, even ones that take up only half the lane, with any of those keys. (I exclusively used the L and R buttons.) Flick notes offer a fairly generous window in which to flick either the left or right analog stick, depending on which lane (or lanes) the indicators appear. The final type are yellow circular indicators that mirror the rings on the screen. For these, you must hit the initial note by flicking the analog stick at the right time, then continue to rotate clockwise or counterclockwise as indicated.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wI1u4GMy-gk&ab_channel=INTICREATES

This input execution means that I found GUNVOLT RECORDS: Cychronicle to be one of the less challenging rhythm games I've played. The only notes I had an issue with her the gold ones that involved "hitting" the indicator by timing my analog stick press with a direction in the ring, then moving at the right time around the ring to complete the circular motion, since you might not exactly be sure of the positioning and speed due to it being more precise than the general "flick" actions. As a result, even the Hard difficulty versions of some tracks didn't feel that much more challenging than Normal. Only the Expert options would really get to me.

While the execution is fine, I'm not the biggest fan of the character models for Lola, Lumen, and Luxia in GUNVOLT RECORDS: Cychronicle. Yes, they all look like the characters. It's something about the way the faces and outfits look for these adaptations that made them look a bit off to me. The models look a little too rudimentary. It's like instead of the actual Muse and songstresses, we're getting the Temu versions accompanying us through songs instead. These look better on the menu screen than in the songs proper, at least.

But more importantly, I'm pretty disheartened by the song selection. Inti Creates composed some fantastic music for the Gunvolt series. So the selection fo tracks is strong. The problem is there are only 15 tracks here. The developer attempted to pad that out a bit by having some songs being snippets that must be played to unlock the "full" version. I get this is only a $14.99 title, which would put it into the budget category. However, these are songs from the series and company. To only have 15 in there and pay about $20 more for 20 songs spread across five more song packs is really frustrating. Especially since some of those songs do come from Azure Striker Gunvolt and Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX and aren't from supplemental sources like the anime adaptation or other soundtracks.

The fact that this is a budget sort of game does mean it's a bit rudimentary in terms of what it offers. You get the Concert mode, which involves playing through the tracks. The Music Video section allows you access to a jukebox function with the Music Player or a Movie Player that lets you watch the music videos that would play if you were going through the tracks in Concert. The Gallery is a bit of a misnomer, as it is really only a place to see your personal records, revisit the tutorial, or see the game's credits. Still, the Concert mode is what most will probably use and it works fine, and the Music Player works fine.

The Gunvolt series has fantastic music, and GUNVOLT RECORDS: Cychronicle feels like a natural spin-off. It also plays pretty well. I'm just disappointed in Inti Creates excluding so many tracks to sell separately and the final 3D model designs for the three heroines. If you enjoy the series' songs, it's probably a good idea to check the tracklist to see if ones you enjoy are in the base game and maybe pick it up if they are.

Meet the Honkai Impact 3rd AstralOp Character Songque

When Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2 launches at the end of February 2024, we'll see a new AstralOp character named Songque added to the game. She's an S-rank unit that people will be able to get from AstralOp Supply banners.

HoYoVerse's profile described her as a kind person who is also one of the mysterious Seven Shus. She's trying to become the one for Deception. IIt also notes she's known for divination. In-battle, she'll help deal lightning element damage to multiple enemies during a Stellar Burst, will inflict a debuff that increases damage from all elements they take, and any enemy she hits will apparently take on the Paralyze Trauma effect. When there's no Stellar Outburst, she'll help Astral Intensity, especially when attacks land, and all enemies will take more damage from elemental attacks.

There is also a guaranteed drop rate for Songque. Once her banner is live, someone will get her if they pull 60 times on the banner. That offer will be in effect until March 29, 2024.

As a reminder, Songque is the second AstralOp character joining Honkai Impact 3rd in Part 2. The other one debuting in 7.3 is the Dreamseeker. Everyone can earn this character via playing.

You will need a Battlesuit with an Astral Ring as your team leader to use an AstralOp character in battle. There will be three launching in the new update. Two are only available via the banner, and those are Senadina and Helia. However, everyone can earn Coralie, the third character, via playing.

Honkai Impact 3rd is available for the PC and mobile devices, and the Part 2 version 7.3 release date is February 29, 2024.

The $39.99 Beckoning Thunder pack offered a Fulgur's Courser mount with armor and two mount trophies for it and 1,800 Platinum.
