When you reach the Checkpoint Rest Town, the settlement on the Vermund-Battahl Border, you're introduced to a unique mechanic that can be used numerous times in the game. There's a vendor in this town that allows you to create forgeries, and we're going to use this to our advantage in the Hunt for the Jadeite Orb quest. While you can complete this quest early on in Dragon's Dogma 2, we'd recommend waiting until you've reached The Caged Magistrate main quest first as you can kill two birds with one stone. Don't worry, unlike the Rodge location quest that also takes place here, you can take as much time as you want to finish the quest. But you could argue that you don't need to watch reality TV to understand and enjoy reality TV, because the basic reality TV thrill of forming weird parasocial attachments to people who are role-playing as themselves is now the golden rule of digital society generally. "'Reality' stuff is huge now, and it's not just reality TV," says Nicole He, designer of The Crush House - an enticing, absurdist and engrossingly unpleasant new sim from Reigns and Card Shark developers Nerial. Capcom announced that the Dragon's Dogma 2 collection of t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies is now available from Amazon Japan. As a reminder, Amazon Japan offers worldwide shipping.
The Dragon's Dogma 2 t-shirts and apparel collection features three different designs. These include the Arisen's heart surrounded by flames, the markings on a Riftstone, and the Japanese kanji for "Arisen" surrounded by motifs from the game. The clothes are available in sizes labeled as men, women, and children. They are also available in black and navy blue, with the Arisen t-shirt also being available in asphalt grey, cranberry red, and olive green.

Brace Yourself Games announced the immediate launch of a new DLC for dungeon-crawling rhythm game Crypt of the Necrodancer that features the Vocaloid Hatsune Miku. The DLC is available now for the PC and Playstation 4, and it will come to Nintendo Switch on April 11, 2024.
The new DLC, which was teased in an a April Fool's day tweet by the developers, features Miku herself as a playable character with her own abilities, including singing and hitting enemies with a leek. Picking up a set of armor while playing as her will also dress her in an official Miku outfit, and there are 15 extra music tracks to listen to while you play. Two of these songs are by the the original NecroDancer composer Danny Baronowsky. The DLC is currently available for $1.79 under an introductory offer, and will be $1.99 normally.

Back in late March, 2024, Good Smile Company announced a new scale figure of Hatsune Miku based on her appearance in the music video for "World is Mine". Before that, Mayla released a set of Miku-themed pumps back in January, 2024.
The Hatsune Miku DLC pack for Crypt of the NecroDancer is available now on Steam and Playstation, and is set to arrive on Nintendo Switch on April 11, 2024. The game itself is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.

Nippon Ichi Software announced a new physical version of Disgaea 7 that includes all previous DLC, as well as a new scenario featuring Asagi Asagiri as a new playable character. It will release in Japan on July 25, 2024, and we still don't know when or if the new complete edition will appear overseas.
The new scenario is titled "World Savers Arc." In it, Fuji and his allies will team up with previous protagonists in the Disgaea series. Asagi will be unlocked as a playable character in Disgaea 7 after its completion. Asagi will have the Main Character class, in a similar fashion to her appearance in other Disgaea games. In addition, the game will receive various balance changes and additions. For example, all characters will be able to activate Hell Mode, and the max stats cap will be unlocked.
For Japanese players that already own the original version of Disgaea 7, the new scenario will be available to purchase as a standalone DLC for 550 yen (or about $3.63.) Furthermore, the gameplay changes and additional challenges will appear as a free update for owners of the original game.
Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless is immediately available for the PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The new Disgaea 7 complete version will release in Japan on July 25, 2024 for the PS4, PS5, and Switch.

I played a lot of old school PS1 classics on my PSP back in the day, since I never owned the JRPG-centric console, but one of the most memorable games I played was Suikoden 2. As such, my hype for Eiyuden Chronicles: Hundred Heroes couldn't be higher, and it fortunately seems to lives up to the hype so far.
Ahead of launch, I checked out a recent PC demo build of the game on my Steam Deck that let me see a solid chunk of what seemed to be an early part of the adventure. The story elements felt a bit light, despite the frequent cutscenes, which left me very little to go on. That said, what I know without a doubt is how stunning its visuals seemed.
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes bears some similarities to the HD-2D stylings of the Octopath Traveler games, minus the pixel art. It has a beautiful mix of the 2D hand-drawn characters and colorful 3D environments. The world looks stunning, from what I saw. This build included a neat mix of places to explore, such as a smaller town, a more open world map area, and mysterious ruin dungeon.
The colors popped on my Steam Deck alongside some impressive visual effects in combat. The battles in this game involved the typical random encounters from old school JRPGs. I'm not the biggest fan of that decision these days, but the fights at least offered the right balance of challenge and smoothness in this build. Like its Suikoden inspiration, battles are turn-based and feature a whopping six party members at once.
Players go through and pick the actions for each of the six members every turn, or you can set up an auto-battle situation. What I liked about these auto battles is how freeing they are. Sure, you can have the team do a basic attack and that's it. However, you can also command them to fight without using precious MP or conserve resources. While I wish you could individualize these commands more, the options were handy.
I was able to set up the team in such a way that I could let them auto-battle through most basic fights in the build. This allowed me to grind pretty smoothly and focus on the major boss battles. The few bosses available here appeared early on in the story, so they only slightly challenged my skills, They were mostly damage sponges who unleashed a couple of powerful attacks I had to heal from.
The exploration also involved a similarly simplistic approach in the initial areas. This segment is taken from pretty early in the game, so I only uncovered a couple of secrets and treasures chests throughout the locations. That said, there are hints to more challenge ahead, especially with the light puzzles in these dungeons. One tasked me with navigating a fog maze that sent me back to the beginning if I made a wrong turn. Yet another had to do with lighting up circles in the right order.
They felt pretty basic, as I only needed to take two tries for both to complete them. That said, I appreciated the variation in puzzles in this short Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes preview build. If this idea continues in the full game, it should break up the monotony of grinding and fights quite often.
Beyond the dungeons, I also had the chance to recruit a couple of addition heroes and participate in the fishing minigame. These optional objectives give me hope for how deep this game will be. Of the 10 available heroes in the demo, all of them interested me in some way based on their introductions. I usually play games like this with the Japanese voiceovers. Thankfully, it also had solid English voice acting early on, which felt like a nice surprise.
Though I still feel a bit curious about how the story and overall writing will play out, this Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes preview build has me even more excited for the full release on April 23, 2024.

There's a new Hello Kitty Island Adventure patch with extra events and cabin upgrades, and people can access the new elements once they update to 1.6. Wish Me Mell's Merry Meadow area, which was added in February 2024, is also now larger.
There are no official 1.6 patch notes for Hello Kitty Island Adventure, but the trailer shows how the cabin upgrades work. It seems there will be tiers to them, just like in Animal Crossing. When someone upgrades a cabin, the exterior appearance will change. There will also be more rooms inside of it. The video seems to suggest at least two size upgrades, and the largest home in the video has an additional two rooms off of the main room.
The two new events in Hello Kitty Island Adventure are Colorblaze Carnival and Imagination Celebration Event. The former is available now and involves exercising with Pochacco for rewards. That ends on April 12, 2024. On April 15, 2024, the fantasy-themed, Friendship Kingdom Imagination Celebration starts. That seems to involve collecting colored gems, if the trailer is any indication.

To celebrate the Hololive Vtuber's birthday, there's now a free Calliope Mori 3D birthday live 2024 concert online and array of merchandise. While the show is on her YouTube channel now, the new items won't actually ship out until either September or October 2024.
The concert is almost an hour long. While Calliope is the focus, other Hololive Vtubers also appear. 10 tracks appeared, and members from the English, Indonesian, and Japanese branches showed up alongside her. She also highlighted the new merchandise and the Suicide Squad Isekai theme song she'll be performing.

As for the Calliope Mori 2024 birthday merchandise, the Hololive shop allows people to get the items tied to the Vtuber in a bundle or piecemeal. The full set is $110. If someone wants specific items, the Dead Beat Honorary Ring is $31, the Eternal Rest square cushion is $28, the Underworldian Designer Muffler is $28, and the "Your Last Shot" shot glasses are $16.

There's a new Azure Striker Gunvolt spin-off, and this time Inti Creates made a Suika Game inspired title called PuzzMiX. However, instead of matching fruits to make watermelons, people are pairing up Lola Pods on the Switch on April 5, 2024.
The main character in PuzzMiX is Lola herself. She'll appear on-screen offering commentary as you match up the Lola Pods. Like Suika Game, you'll need to to match up the pods of similar size to keep making larger ones. These drop from the top of the screen into a box. The game ends when the pods get so large or cluttered that they spill out of the box. The goal is to keep topping your high scores, and you earn more music when you do.

Said trailer also included a number of the tracks that you can hear and unlock in the game. All of them are taken from the Azure Striker Gunvolt series. Here's the list:
While the Switch version is appearing first, more will also appear. It will also arrive on the PS4, PS5, and PC eventually.
This is the second recent spin-off where the support characters and music from the series is a focus. GUNVOLT RECORDS: Cychronicle also appeared in 2024. That's a more traditional rhythm game, however.
PuzzMiX will come to the Nintendo Switch on April 5, 2024, followed by a PS4, PS5, and PC release.

McDonald's Japan announced that from April 12, 2024, Happy Meals will include toys based on characters from Sanrio. They will be available for about five weeks, and prices of Happy Meals will start from 490 JPY ($3.25). [Thanks, Game Watch!]
As per usual, there will be two versions of toys. One of them will be toy cars that have McDonald's motifs on them. These toys are from Takara Tomy. The other version of McDonald's Japan Happy Meal Toys will be little Sanrio mascot items. There will be 9 toys in total, spread out over three "waves" of toys. The first wave includes four toys that are based off cooking items. After that, there will be four toys based off outings, with a secret prize in the mix. For the third wave, there will be a chance to get any of those nine items, depending on remaining stock. Sanrio chose the characters for this collection based on the results of the 2023 popularity poll.
The first wave of toys will be available from April 12 to 25, 2024. You can get a Cinnamoroll rice shaper, a Pompompurin juicer, Hello Kitty miniature tongs and container, Gudetama egg, and a Gudetama egg smasher. Since these are Happy Meal toys, it's unknown as to whether or not you can use them effectively in real life cooking. The second wave of toys will run from April 26 to May 9, 2024. There will be a small Kuromi comb, Little Twin stars compact mirror, My Melody card holder, and a Pochacco handkerchief case. We don't know what the secret toy is. Also, if you go on the weekends, you can get special prizes like Sanrio stickers.

Kotobukiya announced that the Invisible Woman Sue Storm from The Fantastic Four will be the next Marvel Bishoujo figure. She is expected to launch in Japan in October 2024 for 27,500 yen (~$181), and Sideshow is offering a November 2024 to January 2025 launch window and $230 price tag.
As this is a 15th anniversary figure for the line, it will be a 1/6th scale one instead of a 1/7th one. So this Sue Storm will stand at 310mm (one foot) tall. Normally, figures in this line are 205mm (eight inches).
As a nod to the fact she is the invisible woman, there will be transparent parts. Her hands and feet will be invisible, and there is also an invisible force field coming up from the figure's base. Her Fantastic Four uniform is a metallic blue.
Here's a closer look at the next Bishoujo figure.
The figure might also look familiar. This is because in 2011, she already appeared in the collection. However, this time her facial expression and the transparent parts and force field look different than before. Kotobukiya previously released a picture showing the difference between the two of them.
The new Marvel Bishoujo Invisible Woman figure will appear in October 2024 in Japan and worldwide shortly after. Ahead of her debut, a number of new Transformers figures joined the Bishoujo line.

The Japanese voice actor Yuichiro Umehara is revealed to have been already married. A reporter from Smart Flash spotted the voice actor meeting his wife at a cafe in early April 2024.
When approached by the reporter, the voice actor confirmed that he got married when he was around 25 or 26 years old. As Umehara was born in 1991, that would be around the year 2016 or 2017.
Yuichiro Umehara's wife is of the same age as him, and she is currently working as an accessory designer. She attended the same university as Umehara, and that's where the two got acquainted. They had been dating for a long time until they eventually got married.
Umehara also revealed that he did not want to announce his marriage because he wanted to separate his private life from work. Another staff member in the Japanese voice-acting industry added that there are many female fans who actually fall in love with him, and they would surely be heartbroken if they were to know Yuichiro Umehara is already married.
Born on March 8, 1991, Yuichiro Umehara made his debut as a voice actor in 2013. He had his first leading role as the merman Wakasa in the 2014 anime adaptation of Merman in My Tub. His name started rising to prominence after he received a role in Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans as Eugene Seven Stark in 2015.
The voice actor has since added more roles to his list, which include Siegfried Kircheis in Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These, the antagonist Zoltan Akkanen in Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative, Cyrus Albright in Octopath Traveler, and the eponymous protagonist of Goblin Slayer.

Square Enix announced that the next patch for FFVII Rebirth will fix a bug that impedes completion of the "Can't Stop, Won't Stop" Side Quest in Chapter 12. The bug first appeared within the version 1.020 patch, which released on March 21, 2024.
Square Enix hasn't specified when it will release the next FFVII Rebirth patch, and the company apologized for the inconveniences caused. The part of the quest that players are unable to complete is the G-Bike section of the Ultimate Party Animal challenge. Many players online have reported that, after achieving the required high score in this section, the game won't acknowledge it. It instead prompts players to repeat the G-Bike section again, regardless of the results.
As completion for this Side Quest is required for one of the trophies in the game, this also means that the Platinum Trophy for FFVII Rebirth is currently inaccessible for those playing the digital version of the game who didn't already earn it ahead of the patch. Owners of the physical edition have resorted to downgrading to the default unpatched version of the game, loading a save file made before the version 1.020 patch rolled out, and completing the challenge.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is immediately available for the PlayStation 5. The console exclusivity arrangement will end on May 29, 2024.

Nintendo announced that child versions of older characters are returning to Fire Emblem Heroes, and this time they come from Fire Emblem Awakening. The male version of Robin, Emmeryn, Lissa, Frederick, and a duo unit that includes the female version of Robin and Chrom will appear once the banner debuts on April 5, 2024.
Four of these units will be available via the Double Vision banner. Robin, Emmeryn, Lissa, and Robin with Chrom will all appear as five-star units, with Lissa also showing up as a four-star. Frederick will only be available via Tempest Trials+ as a four and five-star unit.
For the characters in the trailer, we know what sorts of units to expect. All four of them are infantry units. Robin wields a red tome. Emmeryn comes bearing a colorless staff. Lissa uses a green axe. Finally, the Robin and Chrom duo unit use a blue tome. The video did reveal that the child version of Frederick will be a cavalry unit, however.
Every year, Fire Emblem Heroes gets a banner with child versions of existing characters. For example, one of the last ones involved folks from Path of Radiance.
Fire Emblem Heroes is available for mobile devices, and the Double Vision banner with child versions of Awakening characters runs April 5, 2024, then ends on May 4, 2024.

A new lineup of NieR Automata figures appeared in Japan, and people can get them at random from Gashapon vending machines. Bandai revealed that it is gradually releasing the NieR Automata Ver1.1a Capsule Figure Collection in the first week of April 2024. As of April 4, 2024, the figures have been available in the most populated areas on Honshu island from Sendai to Osaka. [Thanks, Hobby Watch!]
A total of five figures are available in this collection. They consist of 2B, 9S, Pod 042, Pod 153, and a Machine Lifeform. People will have to spend 500 yen to pull a random figure capsule from the vending machine.
Most of the figures will come with a set of stand parts. Bandai has published a guide page to help people assemble the stands. The same page also reveals that people who have obtained a pod (042 or 153) and a character (2B or 9S) will be able to combine the stands for both figures.

These are not the only NieR Automata figures to come from the Bandai Namco Group. Bandai Spirits has released SH Figuarts action figures of 2B and 9S in early 2024. It will also launch an Ichiban Kuji lottery that primarily features 2B figures and busts in late June 2024.
