That's partly because it's so easy to find a healthy one now, and there's a joy in shearing down multiple times and still finding material. You can start from "strategy games are in a good state" and go all the way down to "Turn-based strategy wargames that balance detailed simulation with accessibility and are set in World War 2" and still find several strong entries from the last few years. But it's The Troop that grabbed me most. It's a little surprising, given its modest look, and the stiff competition. I think what clinched it is that The Troop has revealed to me something that I already sort of knew, but hadn't quite caught hold of: that a tank warfare game is all about the pause. |

To celebrate the release of the Fallout TV show on Amazon, a new line of official merchandise featuring the Vault 33 will appear in Japan. The items will be available from the Infolens Geek Shop store located in Ikebukuro Parco, Japan, as well as show up in its online store.
The new items based on the TV show's Vault 33 are now available for pre-order, and they are expected to release in Japan between May and August 2024. Here is the full lineup of Fallout merchandise based on the TV show being released, as well as their prices:

Ahead of the Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes launch, we've seen lots of characters revealed, and the latest batch of four includes El Alicanto the luchador. He's one of four potential allies who seem like they'll be joining players' parties for battles.
El Alicanto referred to himself as "the Golden Champion" in his introductory quote on social media. The character is a 36-year-old fighter that seems to have a strong sense of justice. He also isn't wielding any weapons in his official art, suggesting he's a grappler.
He's pictured next to Reyna. She wields a fiery sword and gigantic shield. She's 27 years old, and her quote suggests she'll only fight alongside someone she considers "worth the trouble." She's the same age as another new ally named Mio. Mio appears to wield a katana and wears a hakama. Between Mio and Reyna is the 77-year-old Riufan, who carries a naginata and wears Japanese-inspired armor.

Pocketpair took to social media to note the Palworld Pal Arena launch window from its April 10, 2024 Triple-i Initiative showcase was incorrect. The video noted the feature would appear in Summer 2024, but it actually only has a 2024 launch window.
The official note suggested that the PvP multiplayer feature will be ready "as soon as possible." As shown in the video, heading into the Palworld Pal Arena will allow each person to bring in three Pals with them. The two groups will then fight it out. The last one standing will win.
Pocketpair's latest notice did offer an update on a Summer 2024 update that will appear for the game, however. In the next few months, people will see a patch that adds new content. Some of the features involved include more buildings and a new island that features additional Pals.
Palworld updates appear rather frequently, though most patches tend to deal with bug fixes rather than new content. For example, the Bellanoir patch appeared in April 2024. That was followed by a patch on April 10, 2024 that fixed an issue with egg incubators and Xbox multiplayer saves.
Palworld is in early access on the PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, and the Pal Arena PvP multiplayer feature will arrive in 2024.

The original, legendary Parasyte manga from creator Hitoshi Iwaaki debuted in 1989 and ran for about five years. The long-awaited anime adaptation from Madhouse in 2014 still remains one of my favorite series of all time. The latest entry Parasyte: The Grey launched on Netflix, and it offers something unique and different.
I would argue that Parasyte: The Grey works best as a standalone experience, separate from the source material. I didn't know what to expect from this live-action, Korean Netflix series, as I initially thought it might be a reimagining of the story of Shinichi, but set in Korea. However, that isn't the case.
Instead, as the series goes on, this show feels more like it is set in the same universe as the source material. We're seeing the perspective of how the alien parasites arriving on Earth affected Korea. Later events in the series seem to hint towards this as well.
That said, Parasyte: The Grey is its most interesting when it separates itself from the source material and feels like its own separate experience. The story starts out so mysterious and intriguing, just like the original manga. Who is the protagonist? Who are the villains? Is there a Migi in this series? These were the questions that had me on the edge of my seat at first.
The Netflix live-action series even leans into this, doling out information a bit at a time. For example, part of this involves such as how the main character became infected in Parasyte: The Grey and why she still has control of her brain (at times). Once I separated this from the source material I adore, I stopped comparing them and was able to enjoy this show for what it is.
After all, it has a very different tone and feel to it, especially with the live-action effects. The sheer brutality of the manga comes off differently as a result. Couple that with the absence of weird, quirky characters like Migi, and Parasyte: The Grey has an even more serious tone than the already mature source.
It took some time to adjust to how the parasites act in this show, but I liked the maturity of it all in the end. It often feels like what the Resident Evil live-action series' developers wish it could be. At least, that is in terms of action, intensity, and light horror factors.
If there is one gripe I still have with Parasyte: The Grey though, it comes down to its pacing. I am not a huge fan of hour-long episodes that don't justify themselves. Sadly, that is the case with this series. Sure, a lot happens in most episodes of the Netflix series, but they go on for way too long. I would rather split the series into 12 half-hour episodes, rather than the six one-hour long ones we have now.
Regardless, Parasyte: The Grey is an enjoyable look at the classic normal human-turns-monster trope. Rarely do live-action adaptations of manga and anime work, but this one sticks the landing. It may not be perfect, but it works well enough and kept my attention the whole time. This was because it wasn't afraid to show an original story set in the same universe as the source material. And this intriguing risk paid off well in the end.

Pre-orders are now open for Good Smile Company's Nendoroids of Kafka Hibino and Reno Ichikawa from Kaiju No 8. Each Nendoroid costs either ￥6,500 or $39.99, depending on which region's storefront they are ordered from.
The Kafka Hibino Nendoroid comes with 3 faceplates: a serious face, a shouting one, and an open mouthed expression. It also comes with a handgun, a mask and several optional parts for posing, including a translucent stand. The Reno Ichikawa Nendoroid also comes with a mask, gun, and stand, but its faceplates include a "tsukkomi" face. Both Nendoroids can be ordered from either store, with orders from Good Smile's US store costing $39.99 each and shipping in Q1 2025. Global Store orders, meanwhile, will cost ￥6,500 each and are expected to ship in August 2024.

Atlus released a new short trailer for SMT V: Vengeance showcasing some of the new demons that will appear in the game. Additionally, a new Demon Backyard system was detailed.
SMT V: Vengeance will include over 270 demons, compared to the 221 present in the original SMT V, which rose up to 234 demons when counting those added in the DLC. Some of the new elements shown in the trailer include new demons Nahobiho, the Frost version of the Nahobino protagonist, and Cherub performing a new Light-element skill, as well as returning demons Nekomata, Cait Sith, and Neko Shogun performing a new Magatsuhi Skill together, Moh Shuvuu, Pellaidh, and former DLC demons Matador, Mephisto, and Artemis.
You can take a better look at the new Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance demon showcase trailer below. The trailer is 1 minute long and is only available in Japanese.
The new Demon Backyard mechanic can be accessed from Leyline Founts throughout the game, and it allows players to interact with the demons in their roster, as well as use the free camera function to take photos of them.

A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Street Fighter: Duel crossover kicked off, with the first part of TMNT event adding Leonardo and Michelangelo to the game. The announcement trailer shows that Donatello and Raphael will also eventually appear too.
First, here's the initial Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Street Fighter: Duel trailer announcing the crossover event. It shows the official character art for Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael.
When someone logs in to Street Fighter: Duel, they'll see an initial announcement banner with Leonardo and Michelangelo. There is a Turtle Attack event with Daily Missions that offer 100-Warm-Up Points and Progress Rewards. Some of those items you can get are TMNT Wish Tickets. No tickets are showing in the Mall. Also, the only Fight Mall banners at time of writing were Eternal Challenger Trendy Ryu and Thunder Agent Agent C. Viper.
This isn't the first time Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles showed up in a Street Fighter game, as a TMNT crossover appeared in Street Fighter 6. That debuted in August 2023. People could get gear, player titles, and a BGM theme.
Street Fighter: Duel is available for mobile devices. A Turtle Attack portion for the first part of the TMNT event is live now.

HoYoverse has released another Honkai: Star Rail trailer featuring the upcoming five-star character Aventurine. He is will be available to pull for in the banner starting April 17, 2024, though he was playable ahead of time in some 2.1 Trailblaze Missions.

The trailer begins with the scene that plays at the climax of the Trailblaze Mission "Double Indemnity," during which Sunday invokes the power of the Harmony to attempt to stop Aventurine from telling lies and half-truths. We see then see flashes of Aventurine's childhood on Sigonia and subsequent enslavement. These come up before a scene showing his interrogation by Jade of the Ten Stonehearts, as seen in "All the Sad Tales." The trailer then ends by cutting away before Aventurine comments on the rationale behind his wagering.

Aventurine's gameplay mechanics were also recently detailed in a post on HoYolab, which goes over his attack, skill, talent, ultimate, and technique. The character March 7th also appeared at several train stations in Japan as part of Honkai: Star Rail's first anniversary celebration.
Aventurine is set to become available to pull for on April 17, 2024, while Honkai: Star Rail is immediately available on PC, PS5, and mobile devices.

The Final Fantasy XIV planetarium show in Japan will shift to a new phase covering the Summer night skies in May 2024. Square Enix and Konica Minolta Planetarium also announced that they will release new FFXIV-themed merchandise at the same time.
Once the Summer phase kicks off on May 7, 2024, Square Enix will release the new folding umbrella and "The Aroma of Eorzea" essential oil bottle at Konica Minolta Planetariums in Ikebukuro, Yokohama, and Nagoya. Both items will also be available to order digitally via the Gallery Planetaria web store a week later on May 14, 2024.
The umbrella will cost ¥3,850 (~$25), and it will feature the Eorzean night sky on the user's side. Its outer side will protect the user from not only rain but also ultraviolet rays from intense sunlight.
Meanwhile, "The Aroma of Eorzea" bottle will contain 5 ml of essential oil at ¥2,200 (~$14.35). Square Enix will emulate the scent of Eorzea's night sky by blending lavender with more plant-based oils from the likes of citrus, bergamot, and rosemary.
Square Enix and Konica Minolta Planetarium first launched the FFXIV collaboration show on February 2, 2024. The show features a narration about stars in the Eorzean skies during the Spring season from G'raha Tia's Japanese voice actor Yuma Uchida. The companies also released clear files and tea packs at the same time.
The Summer version of Final Fantasy XIV's collaboration show "The Tale of the Stars and Eorzea's Gods" will appear at Konica Minolta Planetariums in Ikebukuro, Yokohama, and Nagoya on May 7, 2024.

HoYoVerse announced a Genshin Impact pop-up store with merchandise will appear in Santa Monica, California, with people able to stop by between April 24-28, 2024. In addition to items to buy, there will be photo opportunities, games, and chances to get prizes based on the series.
To attend, people will need to head to 395 Santa Monica Place at number #146 in Santa Monica, California. There will apparently be items set up, with the Adventurer's Guild desk and an inflatable Guoba confirmed to appear. Some of the things you might be able to get for free are character cards or postcards or items based on the One Plus Keqing phone. There will also be acrylic stands, folders, and keychains given away as raffle prizes.
The official announcement also included a list of some types of merchandise that will be available at the pop-up. Here's what you can get, though prizes aren't listed for them yet.

We're on the verge of a new Genshin Impact update. The Special Program for 4.6 airs on April 12, 2024. Then, later in the month the update with new quests and a new playable character will appear.

Square Enix is now selling a Crystarium Prodigy's Attire costume in the Final Fantasy XIV Online Store that is based on the outfit Alphinaud wears. It costs $12 and can be worn by a character of any species or gender.
There are four parts in this Crystarium's Prodigy's Attire set. You get a top, fingerless gloves, hose, and thighboots. You can not dye any of the items.
To compare, here's how Alphinaud looked in Final Fantasy XIV Shadowbringers alongside the new Crystarium Prodigy's Attire costume.
And here are the screenshots Square Enix shared with us showing how Crystarium Prodigy looks when worn by characters of different races and genders.
This isn't the first time we've seen one of the Leveilleur twins' costumes appear as a Final Fantasy XIV cosmetic. Back in March 2023, Alisaie's outfit appeared at the online store. That attire was based on her Heavensward look. There's also an $18 Sharlayan Prodigy's Suit and $15 Brand-new Alphinaud's Attire based on him.
Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Dawntrail expansion will arrive on July 2, 2024. The 14 Hour Broadcast for FFXIV will begin on April 12, 2024, with the FFXIV Letter From the Producer Live LXXX taking place an hour after that starts.

Cover Corporation revealed that it will release a new trading card game based on Hololive Production Vtubers. The game's title will be Hololive Official Card Game, and Cover will also receive assistance from Bushiroad when developing and releasing it.
Cover has also uploaded a teaser trailer for the new trading card game on Hololive Production's Japanese official X account. The company so far only published the title's logo and the tentative design for the cards' back side. However, in the Japanese press release, it promised that the cards will feature both new and existing illustrations of the Vtubers.
This is not the first time Cover and Bushiroad have co-operated in releasing Hololive TCG cards. The company had previously worked together to release Hololive Production booster packs for the crossover trading card game Weiss Schwarz in 2022. The lineup back then featured 53 Vtubers from the Japanese, Indonesian, and English branches who were active at that time.
While Weiss Schwarz was primarily designed by Bushiroad, Cover will take the primary role in designing the gameplay system for the Hololive trading card game and developing the cards. Bushiroad will assist the company in distributing the cards to multiple shop outlets and organizing tournaments for the game.
Hololive Official Card Game will be available in September 2024.

HoYoVerse offered details about the new Honkai: Star Rail Tides of War Hidden Secrets event ahead of its debut. Things kick off on April 13, 2024 for anyone who finished the all of the Trailblaze Missions on Jarilo-VI.
This is a battling type of event. After Bob returns to Herta Space Station after a Penacony vacation, he extracted a Tides of War: Untainted Childhood Memories Passionate-Heart Burning-Soul Ultimate Collection Memory Bubble. It is then up to the player to go through six battle stages, defeating the enemies within it. Each one has three waves of enemies. You have six cycles to get through as many as possible. There are Support Functions you can unlock by building up the Grit Value by performing certain actions in fights. If you get enough Grit to enter different Grit Phases, different supportive abilities and buffs are offered.
The rewards were also mentioned. People can get 500 Primogems, a Tracks of Destiny, and some Relic Remains for their efforts. Other things people can get include experience items and Credits.
Honkai: Star Rail is available on the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the Tides of War Hidden Secrets event will run until May 6, 2024.

Crunchyroll is the sort of service that updates its schedule for seasons as things go along, which means even if a new show isn't there right away it could be. It updated to reveal the anime adaptation of Kaii to Otome to Kamikakushi will air on the service as Mysterious Disappearances.
For those unfamiliar with the series, Kaii to Otome to Kamikakushi follows bookstore employees Sumireko Ogawa and Ren Adashino. The two end up constantly getting caught up in supernatural situations as they are approached by and hear about things while working together at a book store. The manga will be showing up in English, with Seven Seas Entertainment releasing volume 1 in May 2024, but the anime started its run worldwide on April 10, 2024.
As the show already began airing in Japan, this means people can already start watching it. The listing for the show is live on the service and its site. The first episode is called "The Cursed Book, the Maiden, and the Birthday. It involves Sumireko getting caught up in a mystery after being given a strange book.

It seems we won't see an English dub of the Kaii to Otome to Kamikakushi anime, however, Crunchyroll didn't update its listing of Spring 2024 dubs with it. The last confirmation to show up there involved the Hindi dub of the show A Salad Bowl of Eccentrics.
The Mysterious Disappearances anime is on Crunchyroll now, with one episode available and new ones apparently appearing every Wednesday. The manga will appear in English on May 21, 2024.

I have looked at all of the recommended positions and can tell you the best ones to make your life a little easier. The recommended starting zones are recommended for a reason – although not all of them are great. Out of the 11 the game gives you, I whittled the list down to the best five. Peschiera, Italy Peschiera, Italy, is probably the best starting location, due to its geographical positioning and its abundance of valuable resources.
