New MMO Throne and Liberty details real money auction house plans

Cast your mind back to the heady days of 2012, when a plucky underdog by the name of Diablo 3 emerged on the scene. Despite being well received in some ways, it fell down with the extremely controversial inclusion of an auction house which let players buy gear and gold with real money. That's since been removed but another contender is stepping up to try it again - the upcoming MMO Throne and Liberty.

Legendary strategy dev launches new submarine milsim Silent Depth 2

When it comes to military simulators, I want the emotional experience of piloting a jet, but I don't want the actual, complete, 1-to-1 technicalities. War Thunder feels like a good middle ground. It's still robust and realistic, but sufficiently toned down that you can pick up and play it without having to learn how to actually drive a tank. Command and Conquer always felt nicely streamlined, too, an RTS that gives you the sense of organizing an army without the pragmatic rigors. From legendary milsim and strategy dev MicroProse, the company behind Carrier Command 2, Regiments, and Ground Breach, Silent Depth 2 is a new submarine game that's as deep and convincing as it is accessible.

AMD says it's already working on its Zen 6 and Zen 7 Ryzen gaming CPUs

The 29 best Minecraft texture packs July 2024

What are the best Minecraft texture packs? These colorful and game-altering texture packs can make your world a completely new experience. Of course, Minecraft's low-fi charm is part of the draw, but texture packs range from subtle changes to an all-over reskin, so you can choose just how much you want to leave vanilla Minecraft behind. We've scoured and tried a bunch of different packs to be able to recommend the very best.

Just like the best Minecraft mods and shaders, texture packs can help give an entirely new feel to one of the best PC games of the last decade, and it's just one of many ways of keeping the sandbox game feeling fresh after all these years. While some mods can alter Minecraft gameplay, and shaders change the quality and style of the graphics, texture packs allow you to add a new skin to existing blocks. Included in our list of the best Minecraft texture packs are realistic blocks, cartoonish overhauls, and cute changes to the way Minecraft mobs look.

Turtle Beach Vulcan II TKL Pro review: great features, average design

After acquiring and shuttering the Roccat brand, Turtle Beach has steadily been reworking the old German brand's PC peripherals, with the Vulcan II TKL Pro the latest to get that treatment. Although it looks similar to the old Vulcan TKL Pro, there's a surprising amount of change packed in to this new keyboard, with the most prominent addition being its Hall Effect switches that revolutionize its gaming utility.

The Turtle Beach Vulcan II TKL Pro, then, is one of the best gaming keyboards I've used, in terms of raw performance. I've been left mightily impressed by the Vulcan II TKL Pro's feature set and how it all comes together practically. It can genuinely hold its own against the likes of the SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini and Razer Blackwidow V4, even if its styling is a bit more left field.

Turtle Beach Burst II Air review: a remarkably light gaming mouse

Make no mistake, Turtle Beach is taking its PC peripheral lines seriously with its first-ever gaming mouse since folding the Roccat brand. The Burst II Air is a product that's surprisingly light and much more affordable than some big-name competitors, but some potential issues around longevity have me concerned.

Fresh out of the box, the Turtle Beach Burst II Air is one of best wireless gaming mice you will find. It's genuinely light at 47g which is a weight that some bigger names in the industry are still unable to get anywhere near. It also has a sleek design that translates well across the black and white models and even manages to include a DPI sensor in a unique, reachable location. All this and you're still spending $50 less than some of its closest rivals.

DBD cross progression and crossplay explained

Does Dead by Daylight have cross progression? There are two main questions players ask when a game is available on multiple platforms: "Can I play with friends on other platforms?" and "Can I access my save data on multiple platforms?" Known as crossplay and cross progression, these are two of the most important online features, especially in multiplayer games.

Dead by Daylight is one such game, and if you have ever seen a single post or livestream from the devs, you'll surely know that the many of the comments, even with no relation to the original post, are about the availability of these features in the horror game. So, we take a look right here at the availability of both DBD cross progression and crossplay.

If you're a survivor, Dead By Daylight can be scary enough as it is: you creep around the corridors of Lerys Institute just to be surprised by a stalking Myers. You're peacefully trying to complete a generator when a Blight rushes across the map to seal your doom. Now imagine stepping into one of The Trapper's bear traps as you're being chased by The Nurse, or being body blocked by an invisible Wraith as you're running from The Huntress and her hatchets.      The Casting of Frank Stone release date, trailers, and story

When is the The Casting of Frank Stone release date? A new horror game based in the world of Dead by Daylight is in the works by Supermassive Games. If the developer's previous cinematic game experiences like The Quarry and the Dark Pictures anthology are anything to go by, we can't think of anyone better to bring the DBD universe to a new genre.

We've had a dating sim, Hooked on You, the mobile iteration of DBD, which seems to getting more features than the main game at this point, and another multiplayer game is in the works. If there's one thing the Dead by Daylight universe is sorely missing, though, it's a single-player horror game. Luckily, that's where The Casting of Frank Stone comes in. Here's everything we know so far about Supermassive's "cinematic experience" and The Casting of Frank Stone release date.

Best shonen anime series Summer 2024 Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest

Shonen is one of the most popular anime genres for a reason. The frequent battles and tons of action usually result in some of the most thrilling series around. When it comes to the most recent Summer 2024 anime season, these are the best shonen and shonen-like action series we highly suggest you check out right now.

Best Shonen Summer 2024 Anime Series: Shy Season 2

This underrated superhero action series is back for a second season. Those looking for a series somewhat different in style from My Hero Academia should check this one out. The main character has such a compelling personality, being shy as the name states. Her growth throughout the series is a neat bonus alongside the excellent action. You can check out the second season on Crunchyroll.

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest

Fairy Tail is one of the most popular shonen anime series of all time and it is finally back with a direct sequel. Those who appreciated the earlier parts of the original anime and the laidback vibes will likely enjoy this return to form. It focuses on its core characters and their seemingly impossible guild quest, along with some intriguing new characters and villains.

I Parry Everything

So far, I have recommended a couple of returning shows. For those of you looking for the best brand new shonen anime series in the Summer 2024 season, this is the one for you. I Parry Everything isn't an Isekai, simply taking place in a fantasy world. It follows Noor, a guy who has a tragic backstory and wishes to become an adventurer, except he has no affinity for any skills whatsoever.

Well, except parrying, of course. If you are a FromSoftware fan, you might enjoy this hilarious but action-packed series with solid animation. The world-building and characters are quite nice, plus it strikes the right balance between lighthearted moments and more tearjerker sequences. I expect this one to become one of the most popular new series from this season.

splatoon 3 suntory

Suntory has started a crossover campaign with Splatoon 3 in which purchasing drinks from the company could net you some merchandise from the game. It started from July 16, 2024.

If you purchase any four Suntory bottled drinks (that aren't part of some other marketing campaign), then you can keep the receipt for a Splatoon 3 T-shirt. It'll be a lottery system so there's no guarantee. Only receipts between July 16 and August 22, 2024 are viable bu you'll have until August 29, 2024 to hand them in. In total, 1000 customers will be able to get a set of adult and child T-shirts featuring the Octoling and Inkling design on them.

Aside from T-shirts, there will also be tote bags available for those who purchase four or more Suntory bottled drinks. There are four designs in total and everyone can get one. For the tote bags, they're only available while supplies last since it's not a lottery. So once the campaign starts, there's a chance that some stores you go to might not have the tote bags anymore. You'll also need to make sure the store is even participating in the campaign.

Splatoon 3 is readily available on the Nintendo Switch. The Suntory campaign with Splatoon 3 will run until August 22, 2024.

Hades 2 Early Access Patch 4 Adjusts Boons & Blessings, Daedalus Hammer Upgrades

Supergiant Games released the latest Hades 2 Early Access update, and Patch 4 mainly focuses on nine Daedalus Hammer upgrades and nine Boons & Blessings. There are also almost 40 bug fixes based on community feedback in this update.

The Boons & Blesses adjusted in Hades 2 Early Access Patch 4 tend to mainly come from Hera and Zeus, though some from Hepheaestus, Poseidon, and Apollo also come up. Zeus' Lightning Lance and Spirit Surge are both affected and improved. Hera's existing Engagement Ring, Sworn Strike, and Golden Rule with Poseidon are all among the ones changed. In addition, her Family Trade Boon & Blessing is replaced by Rousing Reception.

As for the Hades 2 Daedalus Hammer u[grades, many of them mark improvements or buffs. For example, Melting Shedder deals more damage to armor, Inverted Spark's projectiles last longer, and Rocket Bombard does more damage. Dead by Daylight Gets Lara Croft Tomb Raider Chapter, The Knight Changes

Behaviour Interactive updated Dead by Daylight, so people who pay $4.99 get the Lara Croft Tomb Raider Chapter DLC and those who don't get an array of adjustments for The Knight, The Singularity, and The Good Guy Killers. There's also a new trailer highlighting exactly how Lara looks in-game, so people can see the new Survivor in action.

First, here's the Tomb Raider Chapter DLC trailer showing Lara Croft in Dead by Daylight. Since this is just a teaser, it is only cinematic. It doesn't show her new Finesse, Hardened, or Specialist perks in action. It also doesn't show the Climbing Axe Charm, which people also get for buying the add-on.

In addition to bringing Lara Croft and Tomb Raider to Dead by Daylight, Behaviour Interactive also made a number of other changes in the 8.1.0 patch. The Good Guy, The Knight, and The Singularity Killers all ended up adjusted. The Good Guy changes all apply to Hidey-Ho Mode cooldowns. The ones for The Knight and The Singularity are more extensive.

  • Overclock Duration no longer scales based on the number of Slipstreamed Survivors. Base value has been increased to 5.7 seconds (was 4.7)

  • After using an EMP, Survivors are invincible to Slipstream for 1.0 second (was 2.0)
  • EMP Range effect has been increased from 8M to 10M.

Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 7 Closed Beta Update Involves Characters, Split Screen

Larian took to Steam to offer an update on the Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 7 closed beta ahead of it starting on July 22, 2024, and it went over changes to characters, the new split screen multiplayer option, Dark Urge adjustments, and evil endings. It also teased possible things to come like mod support, suggesting crossplay will be among the planned additions eventually as well.

Six Origin characters in Baldur's Gate 3 will end up being fleshed out more or adjusted when Patch 7 launches. Asteron will be better at kissing, due to facial animation adjustments. Gale donations will be easier to manage, but Larian noted he will leave if you deny him an item three times in a row. Karlach bugs will be fixed, and she'll also react to Dammon's death properly. Lae'zel will wait longer for you to recruit her, and a game progression bug tied to her is fixed. Shadowheart "Daughter of Darkness," Spear of Night, and kissing issues will be fixed. Wyll seems to be getting the most adjustments, with ones tied to his romance and epilogue also being fixed. Multiplayer party banter support will be added as well.

Larian also showed a gif highlighting how Baldur's Gate 3 Split Screen Mode will work. This will be an option people can enable. When selected, the screen will merge together to have both people on the same screen and no splitting if the two people are near one another. Larian said people can turn the feature on or off in the HUD and settings.

Here's how that looks:

The announcement also confirmed details about evil endings and Dark Urge changes in Baldur's Gate 3. New cinematics will appear, and gifs teasing two of them showed up. Neverness to Everness pre-registration

Hotta Studio announced a new game called Neverness to Everness, with pre-registration available now. Several trailers and a website are also online, though a release date has yet to be announced for the PC, mobile, and "console" game.

Set in the city of Hethereau, Neverness to Everness is billed as a supernatural open-world RPG. While details are sparse on the official site, Hotta Studio released a gameplay trailer that shows action combat that will be familiar to anyone who played Tower of Fantasy, the studio's previous game. Drivable and customizable vehicles seem to also play a large part. At one point the player appears to purchase property from an estate group, which may suggest player housing will be in the game.

There is currently no indication regarding which consoles the game will launch on, though the site mentions PCs and mobile devices. Hotta Studio released Tower of Fantasy on the PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. To pre-register for the game, click the "Book Now! Reserve Now!" poster on the official site.

LEGO Store Sale Discounts Atari, Mario, and Minecraft Sets

LEGO kicked off a sale on its official storefront, and multiple game-related sites tied to Atari, Minecraft, and Super Mario are reduced. Discounts tend to hover between 20% and 40% off, though it varies depending on the sets.

Here are all the Atari, Minecraft, and Super Mario sets currently on sale. Note that in the case of the Mario ones, they are playsets that involve the interactive Mario, Luigi, or Peach figure. As such, someone would also need that part to make the most of them if it isn't already included. For example, the Adventures with Peach set comes with a figure someone would need.

The sale also includes a number of Disney LEGO sets. For example, The Little Mermaid live-action Royal Clamshell set is $111.99. A lot of Marvel sets also appear, like the Avengers Endgame Final Battle one for $69.99. However, standard sets like the $97.99 Main Street one are also available.

The LEGO Store sale is live as of July 16, 2024.
