Banned management game that mocks GTA 6 secures a Steam launch

Despite being delisted from other gaming platforms, an upcoming management game that pokes fun at Rockstar's long development of GTA 6 has emerged on Steam. After being booted off of the PlayStation Store by Sony for looking like a fake listing, using AI to generate GTA-style art, and using satirical claims of it already winning awards, Grand Taking Ages has now remarkably appeared on Valve's storefront.

New League of Legends patch finally fixes Blue Essence, nerfs Feats of Strength

League of Legends is in a bit of an odd state just now. While it feels like early games can be decided by a single death or objective win, as things start to go late we've seen miracle steals and mammoth comebacks galore. At pro level, Atakhan seems to be relatively low priority despite his controversial Guardian Angle-style buff and the XP gains from Bloody Petals. And then there's the Blue Essence drama which, while somewhat ironed out, shook the faith of a lot of players - especially with Hextech Chests and level-up rewards biting the dust coming into 2025. League of Legends patch 25.S1.2 fixes a lot of these issues, but the addition of Arcane's Mel Medarda may just shake things up all over again.

I tried the Lenovo Legion Go S with SteamOS, and it nails the Steam Deck formula

The world of PC gaming handhelds is about to get a whole lot more exciting, and not just because AMD has just announced a brand new CPU for them. One of the best new products I had the pleasure of trying out at CES was the new Lenovo Legion Go S, which uses SteamOS rather than Windows, and in many ways, it's the handheld device we've all been waiting for.

With Valve's own Steam Deck devices already commanding the top two spots on our best handheld gaming PC guide, there's a good chance the new Lenovo Legion Go S could make it there too. It's all very well packing the fastest hardware possible into your handheld, but there's a lot to be said for the simple usability of SteamOS on a handheld, as well as the benefits of Valve's Steam Deck Verified scheme.

I can't get out. I'm trapped in a tractor full of beer and spare tires. I haven't taken a shower in days and a fly has gotten into the cab, buzzing around my ears, anticipating the feast that will come from my sweaty summer death. I just spent nearly an hour driving this tractor to the shop, buying car parts, and rumbling back in the dark. I took my eyes off the road for two seconds to turn on the headlights. It was a mistake. The road curved sharply and I went off a steep bank, tipping my tractor on its side. The door is stuck, the tractor's wheels spin helplessly. There is no recovering from this. I restart the game for the third or fourth time, not knowing whether to laugh or sob.

My Summer Car is as hardcore as they come. It does not simply throw you in at the deep end. It ties you up in a cloth sack with 50 kg of lug nuts and dumps you in the Baltic sea. "Sink or swim!" yells this game at you, but in Finnish, so even that you cannot understand. To a certain kind of person, this is an act of love.

HoYoVerse has provided more details on how to obtain the New Year's Cheer outfit for Xiangling in Genshin Impact. Unlike the Cherries Snow-Laden outfit for Hu Tao, which is only available with Genesis Crystals (real-world money), you can obtain Xiangling's outfit for free, albeit for a limited time.

As HoYoVerse previously shared when listing the Lantern Rite 2025 rewards in Genshin Impact, the Xiangling outfit is free when you complete a certain amount of quests during the "Springtime Charms" event. Like previous free event outfits, you'll still be able to purchase it in the store after the event ends. However, you'll need to shell out 1,680 Genesis Crystals to purchase it. This outfit does not provide any changes to Xiangling's animations or effects.

The "Springtime Charms" event will have several phases, all starting on different dates. They are:

  • Phase I: January 24, 2025
  • Phase II: January 26, 2025
  • Phase III: January 28, 2025

The event then ends on February 9, 2025. To participate, you must be over Adventure Rank 20 and have completed Archon Quest Prologue: Act III. Genshin Impact is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices.

my hero academia vigilantes trailer and key visual

Toho Animation has released a new teaser trailer for upcoming anime series My Hero Academia: Vigilantes. It'll start airing in Japan on April 7, 2025.

Here is the trailer for My Hero Academia: Vigilantes:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iF7Hp24b9ak

The trailer starts with an introduction of our new protagonist, Koichi Haimawari. He is an ordinary university student whose Quirk lets him glide along the ground, though not very fast. After a chance meeting with a vigilante, he becomes an unofficial and unregistered hero as well. Some characters from the main series make cameo appearances in this trailer, as we see All Might and Eraser Head.

A new key visual for the show is also on the website. It depicts Koichi with the other main characters, Kazuho and Knuckleduster, leaping down from the skies while a full moon rises behind them.

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is a spin-off and prequel to My Hero Academia. It ran from 2016 to 2022, and had 15 volumes in total.Horikoshi did not work on the story or the art. Instead, Hideyuki Furuhashi (K: Missing Kings, K: Side Blue) wrote it and Betten Court (Spider-Man: Octo-Girl) illustrated it. News of its anime adaptation first came out in late December 2024, at Jump Festa 2025.

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes will start airing from April 7, 2025. As Crunchyroll has the entire main My Hero Academia series available on its platform, it will likely have this as well.

Love and Deepspace Period Tracker Is Both Basic and boring zayne

So the 3.0 Love and Deepspace update is live, and one of the things calling attention to it is the fact that there's a period tracker feature in it now. I mean, I think Caleb returning as a fifth romance option in the dating sim is a bigger deal, but I get it. Adding a practical application to a game, especially one as unexpected as a period tracker, is going to call attention to it from people who normally wouldn't care. I tested it out, now that it's live, and it's honestly more basic and boring than I expected. It's also quite silly! But that's something I anticipated, given the nature of the experience and function.

So up until recently, I used a few apps actually designed to function as a period tracker. The main thing you want and hope for is it to start to estimate the length of your cycle and alert you to when your time of the month is coming up. The one I used most also allowed me to track symptoms and offer additional alerts.

After needing to delete some photos and temporarily uninstall some apps to actually get the 3.0 update for Love and Deepspace, I loaded it up to find Rafayel on my homescreen. Since he's honestly one of the more humorous love interests in the dating sim, I felt it was a perfect opportunity. If anyone would make a potentially weird experience a bit better, maybe it'd be him?

Okay. It didn't. The clingiest of the now five love interests started off the Love and Deepspace period tracker set up process by saying, "I remember everything about you. Of course that includes your period." It absolutely made me cringe. Especially since he went on to compare it to the moon waxing and waning. I really regretted not waiting to do this until Zayne showed up in the hub area, as he'd hopefully be a little more professional considering he's a doctor.

That out of the way, the initial setup phase is fairly easy. Rather than asking for extensive history, the Love and Deepspace period tracker function starts by asking when the player had their last period. Since I might actually want to use this, I entered accurate information instead of trying to do the math to make Rafayel potentially notify me tomorrow. It then asks about how many days go between each of the user's periods. Things close out by asking about how long it lasts, on average. Once the information was in, Rafayel and I didn't talk any more about it.

After that, you're presented with a calendar with the most basic possible information. It will show when your most recent one happened with dark red hearts, and upcoming predicted ones on future months with light red ones. I'm not a fan of this, because UI means you can barely see the faint red hearts indicating predicted periods on the calendar. There is an option to delete periods, if you'd like. However, you can't list any symptoms you're experiencing.

One weird thing is that the guys don't apparently "share" the period tracker information you offer them in Love and Deepspace. When Sylus showed up on my homescreen when I opened the dating sim to get more screenshots and double-check information, he acted as though this was entirely new information. (His response to tracking my periods was also less creepy than Rafayel's, oddly enough!) The game won't remember your information when telling that love interest to also keep track of your time of the month, so make sure you have it on-hand.

I will admit, I did find Sylus' commentary on the data a lot more entertaining than Rafayel's, so in a way I appreciated the fact that I could go through the period tracker setup process with each guy in Love and Deepspace. For example, when asking how long it lasts, Sylus asks, "How long do you usually have your period for? It feels like an interrogation? But you seem okay with this!" Zayne handles it very professionally, as expected, with the doctor noting it can be a useful way to even notice any possible problems. If you're doing this seriously, I'd even suggest using him as your designated period tracker character.

If you set things up in such a way that it shows your period is happening "now," things do change slightly. A "Caring Message" button will appear. This allows you to engage in brief conversations with the guy about your period. During my tests, I set Sylus as the character who thought mine was happening now. Two conversation options come up, with one asking for comfort and the other involving him making a supply run.

So really, the Love and Deepspace period tracker function is no big deal. The character responses can be a bit silly, either in the humorous or just weird sense. It also isn't as in-depth as you might want or need, and the UI could be better. But if you really want your virtual boyfriend to know it all, it works and will offer a general prediction of when to expect your next period. It's far from the most interesting feature in Love and Deepspace, and it won't offer as much data or help as apps dedicated to that function, but it's fine and seems like it would do its job.

Love and Deepspace is available on mobile devices.

First 6 The Hundred Line Characters Debut in Trailer

We now know who many of the main characters in the new TooKyo Games title The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy are. A new trailer went over main character Takumi Sumino and his allies Darumi Amemiya, Eito Aotsuki, Ima Tsukumo, Kako Tsukumo, and Kurara Oosuzuki. There are also character profile for them and six of their allies.

Here's The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy trailer highlighting the characters Darumi, Eito, Ima, Kako, Kurara, and Takumi. Gameplay is also shown during it, explaining how the game works as well.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTuIAx_ftH4&ab_channel=XSEEDgames

XSEED also released 12 official character profiles for The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. While Takumi, Eito, Darumi, Ima, Kako, and Kurara all come up here, as well as in the trailer, Yugamu, Kyoshika, Gaku, Tsubasa, Hiruko, and Sirei also come up.

Takumi Sumino / "Everyman" – The main character of this story. A completely average high schooler from a completely average family. He can be a little indecisive and pessimistic at times, but when he has something to protect, he'll fight with everything he's got.

Eito Aotsuki / "Voice of Reason" – Takumi's most trusted ally. Eito cares very deeply for his friends and isn't shy about expressing those feelings, corny as they may sound. He's been weak and sickly since he was little, but his impressive intellect might be just what the team needs to guide them through the war safely.

Darumi Amemiya / "Manic Emo Dream Girl" – A young woman known for her mood swings and obsession with all things dark and depressing. She's a big fan of killing-game stories and has no fear of death. If she has to die, all she wants is a death that's as dramatic and flamboyant as humanly possible.

Ima Tsukumo / "Twin – Big Brother" – One of a set of twins - Ima is the elder by a few minutes.

He acts like a carefree joker, but underneath that humor is a hint of something darker. He thinks of nothing but protecting his sister. If anything – or anyone – dares to threaten Kako's safety, Ima will show them no mercy.

Kako Tsukumo / "Twin – Little Sister" – One of a set of twins - Kako is the younger by a few minutes.

She's prone to spacing out, but also has a keen mind and a healthy sense of curiosity. Kako is a big fan of mystery stories and wants to be a private investigator when she grows up.

Kurara Oosuzuki / "Rich Girl Among Rich Girls" – The scion of one of the wealthiest families humanity has ever known. She's proud, overbearing, and acts like she's better than anyone else. She always wears a strange tomato mask, never showing her true face

Yugamu Omokage / "Teenage Assassin" – A striking young man who's been in the business of killing since long before the war started. Unlike the rest of his family (who are also assassins, by the way), Yugamu believes that killing should be done with love. He enjoys torture, dissection, and other grotesque activities.

Kyoshika Magadori / "Ninja Samurai" – A young samurai who's utterly clueless about the modern world. Has never even heard of multiplication tables, let alone learned them. She has an unsettlingly close relationship with her katana, the Holy Jumonji Sword.

Gaku Maruko / "Self-Centered Mood Maker" – A guy who's true to his personal desires (to put it delicately). He's a coward and always looking out for himself. However, there's something so refreshingly honest about his pettiness that it's hard to hate him. Gaku's also good at taking care of other people once he opens his heart to them.

Tsubasa Kawana / "Star Mechanic" – A young woman who knows a lot about machines and what makes them tick. She has a bright, lively personality, but isn't good with stressful situations. When she gets nervous, she gets nauseous, and then...

Hiruko Shizuhara / "Ice Queen" – Leader of the Special Defense Unit. A cold, almost heartless beauty, she always says what's on her mind, even if it means offending others. She's just as merciless on the battlefield, where she gets a twisted sense of pleasure from tearing invaders apart.

Sirei / Special Defense Unit's Commanding Officer – The principal and commanding officer of Last Defense Academy. To put it another way, a weird little robot that orders the members of the Special Defense Unit Around. Under his command, Takumi and the others will be working to wipe out the mysterious invaders.

The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy will come to the Switch and PC on April 24, 2025.

Pochacco Plush Returns to Build-a-Bear Sanrio stuffed animal

Back in January 2024, a Pochacco plush appeared at Build-a-Bear. Now that it's January 2025, he's back again. The Sanrio stuffed animal is now available online again at Build-a-Bear. He can be purchased alone for $36 or in a bundle with clothing and accessories for $49.50. The announcement confirmed his reappearance is limited to the online storefront, and it's uncertain if we'll also see him in stores again.

As usual, the plain version of Pochacco is white and black puppy plush with the Build-a-Bear logo on his right paw and the Sanrio mascot's name written on the stuffed animal's left foot. He can arrive stuffed or unstuffed, with the latter meaning you'll need to take him to a retail store to prepare him. Getting the bundle means you get him and a outfit that features a blue hoodie with the character on it and black sporty shorts.

Here's how he looks, in case you'd forgotten:

The last Sanrio stuffed animal to appear was Gudetama. First, Build-a-Bear only sold him online. However, he did debut in retail stores in January 2025 too.

The Pochacco plush is now back at Build-a-Bear stores, but he's only available online at the moment.
