We've been waiting eagerly for news on the next Battlefield game for quite some time now, but that's just changed. Back in September, EA's Vince Zampella, who took charge of the series following his work with Respawn Entertainment on Titanfall and Apex Legends, revealed some initial details. Along with the confirmation that the currently untitled new Battlefield game will return to a modern setting after the yo-yo back and forth between Battlefield 1 and V's World War I setting and the near future of Battlefield 2042, he also mentioned plans for a community testing program. Now, the publisher has revealed a short snippet of early gameplay and fully unveiled Battlefield Labs, its huge pre-launch playtesting initiative. He wouldn't be lying in his very own chamber with its very own hole for shitting in - and in any case, it's more than her job's worth to treat him otherwise. In a timid, not quite spiteful show of reverse class policing, she refuses to end the dialogue until she's dismissed in a manner befitting her station. |

I have heard this called "the piss filter" and generally lamented in industry circles. But it was always a puposeful choice, intended to add some grittiness to the world. Shueisha has announced via the Oshi no Ko anime X account that there will be a new puzzle game based on the same franchise coming to smartphones in Japan. The company has also set up a new X account dedicated to the mobile game.
Details about the new mobile puzzle game are still very scarce as of the initial reveal. Shueisha has not even announced the game's full title yet. The company only noted that the game is still under development, and it will gradually publish more information in the near future.
Oshi no Ko originated as a manga launched in Shueisha's Jump magazines in 2020, which has also concluded around the end of 2024. The franchise made a major breakthrough with an anime adaptation that launched in 2023, with its third season also in the works as of early 2025. While there is also a growing number of adaptations based on the title, such as a live-action series, the newly announced mobile puzzle game will be the first-ever game adaptation dedicated to the franchise.
Prior to this announcement, Oshi no Ko only appeared via crossover DLC and events in other existing games. Some of the examples included Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis in September 2023 and The Idolmaster: Shiny Colors in July 2023 and August 2024. Bandai Namco also released an Oshi no Ko-themed DLC pack for Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival in November 2024, and the latter is still purchasable as of February 2025.
The official Oshi no Ko puzzle game will be available on smartphones in Japan. Shueisha will announce more details about the mobile game, including its full title and release window, at a later time.

A new soccer manga just started its run, with the sports series Embers now in Shonen Jump. It is also available to read worldwide in English. MangaPlus and Viz Media both already shared the first chapter.
Embers is the story of a soccer team filled with delinquents. Most notable is Haitani, who's the toughest in the school and constantly being challenged to fight. A teacher named Oshimi sees potential in him and challenges him. First, he tells the student no brawling unless he can steal a soccer ball from him. When Haitani fails, he says he won't offer a rematch until he juggles the ball five times in a row. He keeps needing to rematch, learning new soccer skills each time. Eventually, Haitani and his friends get a chance to actually play soccer and get into something, and Oshimi fights for them saying they have potential to become a great time and major players.
As both MangaPlus and Viz Media always offer the first three chapters of a series to read for free, you'll have plenty of time to catch up with Embers. However, as time goes on, you'll eventually lose access to chapters after the third for free.
One of the most famous soccer anime and manga series is Captain Tsubasa, which also ran in Shonen Jump. Multiple games also appeared based on it, with many appearing worldwide. Blue Lock is also one of the more recent series based on the sport, with the manga for that running in Weekly Shonen Magazine and the anime appearing on Crunchyroll.
The first chapter of the Embers soccer manga is now live worldwide, and the second entry in the sports series will appear in Shonen Jump and online on February 9, 2025. There's no word yet on how long this series might run.

There are two new Bleach Rebirth of Souls trailers to watch today, with one being the Gotei 13 member Ikkaku Madarame and the other the Arrancar Nnoitra Gilga. Nnoitra's video is only on social media, while Madarame's is on YouTube.
Madarame is the 28th character to be revealed for the game. He's known for being Kenpachi Zaraki's lieutenant in the 11th Division and working alongside Yumichika Ayasegawa, though the latter hasn't been confirmed as a playable character yet. His Zanpakuto Hozukimaru is unique, as it can grow from looking like a katana to a naginata. His Signature Move is Slayer Stance, and his Spiritual Pressure Moves are It's My Lucky Day and Watch Closely.

Nnoitra is the 29th character, which may explain why his trailer isn't on YouTube for us to watch yet. He's the Quinto Espada Arrancar. His Santa Teresa Zanpakuto looked a bit like an axe. His Signature Move is Hierro, and his Spiritual Pressure moves are Guillotina and Don't Run Away in Fear Now.

Yostar announced that it will hold a new crossover event that adds content from Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel to Mahjong Soul. It will specifically base the crossover on the movie trilogy that originally launched between 2017 and 2020, and has since become available on streaming platforms like Crunchyroll and Hulu.
Details about the new crossover are still scarce as of the initial announcement, but Yostar usually adds key characters from other titles as guest players. The latest crossover event as of 2024 was Bandai Namco's The Idolmaster: Shiny Colors, where Yostar added all four members of the Noctchill group from the title between November and December 2024.
The crossover event with Sanrio characters in September-October 2024 ended up adding unusual content when compared to other prior franchises. Sanrio's famous mascots like Hello Kitty and Cinnamoroll did not appear as playable characters. They instead appear in exclusive alternate skins for four of the game's original characters.
Yostar made the announcement on the game's social media accounts simultaneously in multiple languages. Here is the announcement tweet for the Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel crossover from the official English X account for Mahjong Soul:

Bandai Spirits revealed more model kits and action figures based on the new Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX. The company will gradually release the products throughout 2025.
The HG (High Grade) Gunpla model kit of the titular Mobile Suit, GQuuuuuuX, has been available for purchase since January 17, 2025. A Metal Robot Spirits <Side MS> action figure based on the same unit, slated for release in August 2025, is also available for pre-orders. However, Bandai Spirits have newly revealed more kits and action figures based on not only the show's Mobile Suits but also the human characters.
The new lineup includes Mobile Suits that have not been listed on the show's official website as of early February 2025, but appeared in the Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- movie, which is already airing in Japan but is slated for launch in North American theaters on February 28, 2025. As such, be advised that the remainder of the article will contain spoilers for the movie.
Bandai Spirits will release Figure-rise Standard model kits of the show's main characters Amate "Machu" Yuzuriha and Nyaan in June 2025 and July 2025, respectively. A new HG Gunpla featuring the Red Gundam will also appear earlier in May 2025 to accompany the GQuuuuuuX. The company will open pre-orders for all aforementioned kits on February 19, 2025.
Besides revealing new model kits, Bandai Spirits also opened pre-orders for two new Metal Robot Spirits action figures. The Red Gundam action figure is immediately available for pre-orders worldwide at 24,200 yen (~$156.35) with a release window in June 2025. The company will also release another action figure based on the White Gundam in September 2025. But while the latter will cost less at 19,800 yen (~$127.95), its availability will be formally limited to Japan and Asia.
The upcoming TV anime show Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX is available via an early movie adaptation. Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- is already airing in Japan, and it will also gradually appear in theaters across North America and other regions worldwide.

Konami has announced the full Japanese release date for Tokimeki Memorial: Forever With You Emotional. It will release the remastered version of the first-ever Tokimeki Memorial entry for Nintendo Switch in Japan on May 8, 2025.
The company also explained the new features it teased previously during the game's reveal at the Japanese August 2024 Nintendo Direct. One of them is the EVS (Emotional Voice System), which lets the game's characters call the player's name in a more natural way, but originally only appeared starting from the 1999 sequel Tokimeki Memorial 2. Konami will also gradually add more callable names to the list via internet downloads.
The other feature shown in the new announcement is a new option that will let players choose between the original and remastered versions of the character graphics and user interface. They can even mix and match between the two choices, so one can even opt to have the original character graphics with a remastered user interface, for example.
Konami has also published a new trailer to accompany the release date announcement of the Tokimeki Memorial Switch remaster on its Japanese YouTube channel:
In addition, Konami announced that the new game will be available physically and digitally in Japan. There will also be two editions available for each format. The regular edition will cost 6,600 yen (~$42.65). The Deluxe edition will have a higher price tag of 9,680 yen (~$62.55) with a bonus DLC set containing a gallery of character illustrations, a digital soundtrack, and a non-credit version of the game's opening movie.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it" applies quite well to Civilization VII. In some areas, developer Firaxis crafted the most stunning and welcoming entry in the franchise by a long shot. However, in others both new and unnecessary features like the Ages system hold this entry back from immediately being the best in the series yet.
My experience with the Civilization series is fairly recent. It dates back to playing Civilization Revolution and its sequel back on my iPad, followed by Beyond Earth on PC, and later Civilization VI in recent years. The strategy genre is far from my favorite, with both this line and Star Wars: Empire at War being the only ones I've stuck with. But there is just something about the deep, intricate systems of Civilization that drew me in and kept me captivated, especially in multiplayer.
Fortunately, my love for the series continues, for the most part, with Civ VII. It is surprisingly quite similar to its predecessor, mostly building upon the mechanics and ideas of the previous game. The controls, even with a controller or on the Steam Deck, will be familiar but they work more smoothly than ever before. In fact, almost everything is like Civilization VI, but improved and better overall. The gameplay feels so fast-paced and responsive. I don't ever feel like there is lag in the game recognizing my decision and moving that troop to that spot or ending my turn. Everything is so silky smooth and instantly goes from action to action, be it in singleplayer with bots or multiplayer.
As always, the goal remains the same in Civilization VII. First, you pick a leader in the hopes of winning a match against other civilizations using one of the core victory conditions. At the launch of this title, there are four main conditions you can pursue to win. These are Military, Culture, Science, and Economic. Sure, there are some missing victory types here, but this is absolutely sufficient. For instance, Military involves essentially conquering the whole world. Each settlement the player conquers gains them some points that will go towards winning in the end. Then there is Science, which is one of my favorites. This one involves completing projects in the space race in the Modern Age. There are just enough types of victories to appeal to different types of players.
If you are the more diplomatic type that doesn't like to wage war, you don't have to. You can interact with the other leaders and make peace with them. You can open up your borders to others and trade goods all while building up your own empire. This might prove helpful when trying for a Culture or Economic win. If there is one aspect I adore about Civilization VII, it is the freedom it offers.
Even a simple task like building your capital city is more flexible than before. For example, when your city grows, you are able to pick individual tiles to expand into. This allows you to choose which direction to go. For me, it also made it easier to create a trade network and empire. I could put a new city pretty far away, but gradually build my borders towards one another. This allowed me to connect them with ease into a one unified nation.
This freedom also shows in the leader system. This time around, you pick your leader and your civilization separately. You might have someone like Benjamin Franklin as your leader, but your nation could be Meiji Japan. There are some limitations to this, but each leader usually gets a few solid options. This allows you to mix and match the features of one leader with a different civilization and its unique troops and buildings.
While this may sound complex, it is quite simple surprisingly and welcoming. I could say the same for most of Civilization VII. This is by far the most alluring strategy game, I've ever played in terms of explaining the systems well to newcomers. The tutorials are rich, but also swift. They give you just enough information about every little aspect to keep you going, all without holding you up too much. Then it offers more detailed optional explanations if you want to dive deeper.
There are even areas of Civilization VI I didn't fully understand, like upgrade trees for learning new technologies and the like, that I now get because of how much better Civilization VII is at explaining all of its mechanics and intricacies. This helps, because there are other neat gameplay improvements like being able to unite troops under a commander to move them around as a singular army and more.
With that said, though, there is one glaring issue with Civilization VII: the Ages system. This is the new feature that aims to differentiate this title from past entries. In previous games, there were eras and ages, sure. You would go from one era to the next mid-match as you learned new sciences, tools, and other technologies. In this title, Firaxis controversially makes three Ages — Antiquity, Exploration, and Modern — a consistent device for everyone. Every civilization and player contributes to moving the current Age forward to the next one. Once the bar fills up for the next Age, the game essentially half-restarts, and everyone picks a new civilization while keeping their current leader.
Now, a lot of benefits move on from Age to Age. For instance, there are some Ageless buildings that carry over. Plus, you get Legacy Path points for what you accomplish in each Age. This might grant you a bonus in the next time period or even help you get closer to that victory in the final Modern Age. The problem is the Age system feels so disjointed. It is the epitome of one step forward, two steps back. Switching to a new Age feels like a pseudo-reset in some ways, which I don't enjoy. I feel it breaks the entire pacing and atmosphere of the match, be it single-player or multiplayer game. It is a true vibe killer, and I consider it the exact opposite of the smooth transitional feel of the rest of the experience.
It is to the point that I only played through two full, three Ages matches leading up to this review. (Each one lasted roughly 12-15 hours.) It became a chore and didn't feel enjoyable. Until something changes and patches release, I find I now just play through the Modern Age on its own when heading into new matches. This is something you can do, thankfully, but you shouldn't have to. I would much prefer a way to turn off the Ages system and play like previous titles.
That said, the general settings and options in Civilization VII are pretty meager at this time. There aren't a ton of ways to customize the experience, outside of the usual length and map sizes. Furthermore, the leader selection is pretty disappointing. Most of the fan-favorite characters, such as Julius Caesar or Cleopatra, are not here. It certainly feels like a weaker launch cast to possibly promote DLC in the future.
It is a shame, since Civilization VII has everything almost right. It is absolutely stunning and plays well, even on the admittedly weak Steam Deck. The lands and biomes look beautiful, and every inch of a civilization is remarkably detailed. Each district, building, structure, and troop looks intricately designed and hand-crafted. The gameplay in Civilization VII is also so smooth and welcoming to everyone. This is the most fun I've had with a strategy game... when I don't have to deal with the Ages system. There is incredible potential when it comes to Civilization VII, but for now, the Ages system holds it back from being one of the greatest strategy titles ever made.

If you want to make it far in Jujutsu Odyssey, you need a good weapon, a good clan, and if you really want a bit more oomph to your fighting style, a decent Cursed Technique. Just like with almost all systems in the game, some Cursed Techniques are better than others. In this Tier List, we're going to help you figure out which Cursed Techniques are better than others.
How to get Cursed Techniques in Jujutsu Odyssey
Cursed Techniques in Jujutsu Odyssey work a lot like Fruits in Blox Fruits. You find a Cursed Womb, consume it, and then gain the power. As you can imagine, finding the item (Cursed Womb) that gives you the Cursed Ability is the tough part. You can find them out in the wild, you can get them from defeating bosses or raids, and, as you can probably guess, you can buy them for Robux. You can even store the Cursed Wombs you aren't using for later, but that requires a gamepass. You will be given your first Cursed Technique after you complete the Jujutsu Tech Entrance Exam. Don't forget, when you find and eat a new fruit, it will replace your current one.

There's something to be said about STALKER's modding community: it perseveres, no matter what. Even when the IP was in limbo, people kept making awesome mods such as the fully open-world and sandbox Call of Chernobyl. Though STALKER 2 hasn't had anything like that up until now, that's all changing.
As strange as it may sound, none of the STALKER games have released with a proper, full-featured sandbox mode. Sure, Call of Pripyat had post-campaign content if you played your cards right, but that was an exception to the rule. In fact, even STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl has an actual point-of-no-return, which came as a big disappointment to yours truly in particular. Thankfully, the STALKER modding scene knows that this game's true value lies in free-form sandbox goodness, and so the first free-play STALKER 2 mod is already here. Courtesy of modder Ekkaia, the aptly titled "New Game Start - A Free Play Mode Attempt" is a highly experimental experience that, nonetheless, made its way straight to the top of my must-have list of mods, among other goodies.

Ekkaia's New Game Start mod is pretty much a Call of Chernobyl (or GAMMA, or Anomaly, as it were) type experience for GSC Game World's latest and greatest. It's very much a work-in-progress type of thing, mind, though I am happy to report that it's not nearly as janky and broken as, say, Project Zomboid's admittedly awesome Week One mod.
Setting inherent modding jankiness aside for a little bit, Ekkaia's efforts have been directed simply at giving us a proper sandbox survival experience that befits STALKER's Exclusion Zone. To that end, the mod tears out the main story of STALKER 2, its intro missions and tutorials, and Skif himself. Players simply get to choose their starting location, faction, faction rank, loadout, and a few other tidbits before being thrown into the Zone to survive for as long as possible. New Game Start is, of course, designed to work with a host of other mods, but don't expect it to work reliably just yet.
As Ekkaia puts it: "I know there are still many downsides, but I want to publish a "first version" the best I can, like a "proof of concept"," they said. Ekkaia also explains that New Game Start is supposed to be a "wake-up call for community collaboration," which means they're hoping to get more people working on the project as soon as possible.
In summary, then, do expect our very first chance to play STALKER 2 without being constrained by the main story. Do not expect a highly polished and optimized experience at any level, however. Note that it'll get broken often, too, as GSC Game World itself is still patching the game rather heavily.
This is all well and good, of course, but boy howdy does New Game Start - A Free Play Mode Attempt need a different title. How about Call of Chornobyl, perhaps?

There are a lot of things to distract you from your everyday tasks in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, and perhaps none are more distracting than the Challenge Courses littered across the many different locations.
There are a total of 48 Challenge Courses to take on and complete, with a varying number of them in each distinct area. Completing Challenge Courses will reward Trophy Pieces as well as the plans needed to make the trophies. Each course has a Bronze, Silver, and Gold tier time.
How to Challenge Course work in Hello Kitty Island Adventure
The starting point for every Challenge Course takes the form of a flower on a stick, below which you'll find a pink platform. When you stand or run over this platform, Athlete Coins will appear on the land, or Obstacle Rings will appear if the course is underwater.
The aim of any Challenge Course is to run around and collect all of the Athlete Coins, or swim through all of the Obstacle Rings. Each tier requires you to complete the course in a certain amount of time, and you'll earn one Trophy Piece per course when you complete the course within the required time.
With those Trophy Pieces, you can then think about crafting the Trophy for each area. However, you'll need to complete every Challenge Course in an area before you can craft each Trophy.
Every Challenge Course in Hello Kitty Island Adventure
The 48 individual Challenge Courses are split across the seven individual areas of Island Adventure. To make this easier, let's split this by area and then go through the location of each Challenge Course.
Seaside Resort Challenge Courses
There are seven Challenge Courses spread across Seaside Resort. All of these are accessible as soon as you start a new game.

Spooky Swamp Challenge Courses
Once you've unlocked the Resort Gate and gained access to the Spooky Swamp, you'll be able to begin taking part in the eight Challenge Courses within the area. You'll need to have crafted some Flippers before taking on some of these, but luckily you'll be able to do that soon after you've entered the area and met Keroppi.

Gemstone Mountain Challenge Courses
You're likely to travel to Gemstone Mountain for the first time after you've explored the Spooky Swamp, and it's an expansive area. This is an expansive area, so you might have a hard time reaching some of the nine Challenge Courses at first, but you'll soon find them as long as you explore thoroughly.
Here's what each of the Challenge Courses marked above is called:
Mount Hothead Challenge Courses
There are a surprisingly small number of Challenge Courses on Mount Hothead, with only six on the volcano, and some of them won't become accessible until you've worked through a substantial amount of the story quests unlocked by leveling up characters. It is, however, possible to reach the top of the volcano before this point if you're stubborn enough, although I wouldn't recommend doing so.

Rainbow Reef Challenge Courses
Rainbow Reef can only be accessed once you've reached level 6 with Kuromi, which will unlock the crafting recipe for a Snorkel. Once you've got this, you can begin exploring the underwater world of Rainbow Reef. There are six Challenge Courses to complete down here, all of which require you to swim through Obstacle Rings.

Merry Meadow Challenge Courses
Merry Meadow is a late-game area that only becomes accessible after completing the quest "Curious Caverns", which itself becomes available one day after completing the main story quest "Revive the Oasis" once My Melody reaches level 11 friendship. There are six Challenge Courses here, and you'll need to plant three Giant Seeds and cultivate them over three days to reach all of the Challenge Courses.

Cloud Island Challenge Courses
Once you've reached friendship level 17 with Hello Kitty, and as long as you've completed the quest "A Challenging Rescue", you'll be able to unlock Cloud Island through a quest called "Stargazing". This new area adds a final six new Challenge Courses to complete.

Just like in the Anime/Manga Jujutsu Kaisen, not all characters in Jujutsu Odyssey are the same. Some are strong, others weak, and some are useful only in certain situations, but if there's one thing we can say for sure, is that Jujutsu Odyssey takes full advantage of this. After you finish the first few quests, you get the opportunity to join a Clan. Of course, some Clans are better than others, and in this Jujutsu Odyssey Tier List, we will tell you which ones we think are worth pursuing.

How to Change Your Clan in Jujutsu Odyssey
If you aren't happy with the Clan you've been given, you can change it by using a Clan Spin item. Unfortunately, these will switch your Clan to a random one, so be prepared to play the gacha. While you can buy Clan Spins using Robux, you can also get them as very rare drops from chests, and even using codes.

The Civilization series has long reigned supreme over the turn-based 4X strategy genre. Even though the genre has recently become more populated with games like Humankind, Old World, and Endless Legend—all of which are great, by the way—none have reached the same level of gameplay that Civilization offers.
Realistically, that's to be somewhat expected. After all, Sid Meier's Civilization is a series that's been around for over three decades with the original releasing all the way back in 1991. Over the years, developer Firaxis Games—and Micro Prose, back in the 90's—continued to build on and refine the 4X formula leading up to the series' seventh mainline entry, Sid Meier's Civilization 7.
Unfortunately, when you're the master of a genre, you can really only refine it so much. Civilization 6 is great, but other than the addition of districts, the argument could be made that it really just felt like an updated Civilization 5.
With Sid Meier's Civilization VII, Firaxis has managed to find a way to really push the series forward in the form of its Ages system. Interestingly enough, the Ages system resolves a lot of long-stand issues with the series, while also offering more for long-term fans of the series and at the same time making the intimidating genre more approachable to newcomers.

In a nutshell, Ages breaks Civilization 7 into three sections: Antiquity Age, Exploration Age, and Modern Age. At Standard game speeds, each of these Ages will last between 150-200 turns and span anywhere from 3-5 hours, depending on how long turns take you. By breaking the game into these three Ages, players have the option to play a single Age-based game that begins and ends with a single age, or they can opt to play out a longer game across all three Ages that will stretch out over a dozen hours or more.
This one change actually does a lot of Civilization. For starters, Civ players often end up on one side of the coin when it comes to game length. Some complain that the games take way too long, while others wish they could do more, and really mold their empire over the course of a long game. Sure, you could mess with game speeds and lengths in Civilization 6 in an attempt to do so, but that more or less just artificially increased the length.
Now, with the Ages system, players opting for a shorter game can play through just a single Age, while those looking for longer bouts can grow and shape their empire how they want over all three Ages in a much longer game. With the new system, each Age is also more refined to offer somewhat different gameplay, as well.
While each Age can be seen as its own sort of self-contained game, a playthrough that stretches over all three Ages will have its own self-contained goals as well. This primarily happens through the natural gameplay flow of Civilization—laying the foundation for your empire in the Antiquity Age, exploring the world and coming up with a gameplan based on your opponents in the Exploration Age, and then executing your gameplan in the end-game of the Modern Age.
The potentially shorter games of a single Age are a big welcoming point for new players, but so is a revamped tutorial system. I'm the kind of person who usually skips a tutorial, then either learns things on my own or ends up having to go back and suffer through the tutorial anyway. In Civ 7, the tutorial isn't a set of pre-built instructional scenarios or a bunch of videos or even text documentation like most games in the genre. Instead, enabling the tutorial simply adds extra instructions when you're first starting the game as well as explaining new systems or features as you unlock them, including when you reach new Ages.
Pretty much every core system of Civilization has been enhanced or improved upon in Civilization 7 as well. Visually, Civ 7 is far and above the best the series has ever looked. Not just from a directly graphical standpoint; after all, that's to be expected seeing as Civ 6 is almost a decade old now. But with Civ 7, the game takes a more realistic approach than the previous installments, which often favored a more cartoony look. This results in a vibrant and colorful landscape that really evolves as you progress through the ages.
It's always been absolute eye candy to watch the spot of land you chose to plop down your first settlement change and your empire grow over the course of a game in Civilization. With the more realistic graphics, this progression looks even more amazing. It's cool to watch your settlement advance in technology and sprawl out while keeping your Wonders through the Ages. Seeing a modern city built around the Colosseum is still always a fun sight to behold.
The soundtrack for Civ 7 is top-notch as well. This has always been a strong point of the series, and I was happy to see that each civilization still has its own unique music tracks. It really sets the mood for playing each civilization, and I'm looking forward to playing each one eventually for their scores alone.
In terms of content, Civilization 7 launches with 24 Leaders to choose from, and over 30 Civilizations across the three Ages. I believe there are a couple more unlocked by linking your game to a 2K Games account, as well as through various collector's editions. While I'm not a fan of content like this being locked out and not available to everyone, it's worth noting that there are Leaders and Civilizations available for all players of all playstyles: Cultural, Diplomatic Economic, Expansionist, Militaristic, and Scientific.
In my main playthrough across all three Ages, I started as Augustus and naturally, as Rome is my civilization, in the Antiquity Age. Typically, Rome is a Cultural Militaristic civilization. However, I ended up really taking a liking to my only close major opponent (Hatshepsut) and over the course of the Antiquity Age found myself focusing less on my military due to not really needing one, and more on science, especially because I was actually located in a perfect spot geographically for it with plenty of buffs to science to be had by working the lands appropriately.
Naturally, as I reached the Exploration Age, I shifted my civilization to Abbasid, a choice that still catered to Cultural but also Scientific over Militaristic. By the end of the Exploration Age, my dear friend Hatshepsut was consistently being sieged by Xerses and Charlemagne, leading me to shift back towards a Militaristic approach both to aid Hatshepsut but also to defend myself more efficiently. This led to me once again changing course in the Modern Age, and adopting Prussia as my civilization. Despite going into the late game in a three-way World War, I was still able to secure a Scientific Victory.
This type of flip-flopping between playstyle focuses really isn't much of a possibility in previous Civilization games. But in Civilization 7, you not only have the option to change up your focus with each Age, but you're also not penalized for it. In fact, in most cases you'll still retain a lot of the advantages from previous Age focuses even if you shift into something different in later Ages. It's a great change to the series and I can't wait to see what people who are much better than me at these sorts of games end up doing with all the possibilities within this big change.
Legacies and by extension Legacy Paths further complement this change. This new system basically gives you tasks to complete while you're in an Age. Completing them will give you buffs for that Age based on the focus the tasks were part of. For example, building a Wonder in the Antiquity Age will grant you a Cultural Legacy Point and a Diplomatic Legacy Point that can be used in future Ages. But you also receive the option to put one of those points into a specialization of Culture in a future Age that will grant you +1 Culture and +1 Happiness for every Wonder you own. This allows you to further tailor your build to your desired playstyle as you progress through the Ages.
For the most part, Civilization 7 runs great. I'm currently using an AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT and for some reason when using DirectX 12, my game ends up crashing after some time. Sometimes it's after just a few minutes of play, other times I can go up to an hour without issue. Thankfully, there's also the option to launch using the Vulkan API instead of DirectX 12, and I've had no crashes with it. If this is like previous issues I've had with an AMD card, this is most likely more of a driver-related issue that will be fixed when AMD drops a Civilization 7-specific driver update, but I did feel it was worth pointing out.
Slight technical hiccups aside, I also feel as though the Modern Age feels a bit less fleshed out compared to the other two Ages. The tech tree alone for the Modern Age feels a lot smaller and contained. There are also fewer branches in the tech tree compared to the prior two, and it feels like a pretty narrow progression towards the end. It's not unfinished or anything like that, but definitely noticeable.
Furthermore, I tried starting a game directly in the Modern Age, and it felt a bit rough around the edges. You get to select from a pool of starting staple points for your empire, like a city, a town, some military units, and some tech. Basically it tries to jumpstart you into a game as though you've already built up some in the first two Ages. But paired with the more lacking scope of the Age, it felt a bit off to actually play starting from the Modern Age. This may simply be curtailed by having more playtime and an overall understanding of everything going on on a systematic level, but at the moment I definitely recommend everyone starts in the Antiquity Age at the very least until you've got the game down.
I'm excited to see what direction Firaxis and 2K go in terms of post-launch content for Civilization 7. The current roadmap for the future already talks about new Leaders, Civs, Events, and Wonders, but I'm curious if there are plans to add any new major features much like the early expansions in Civ 6 did.
Regardless of my minor gripes with the game, Civilization 7 is a ton of fun. The Ages system is a major game-changer and really enhances the genre in a big way. Firaxis probably could have gotten away with a safer approach with this installment, opting for just better graphics. Instead, it boldly revamped a lot of the core systems to make the entire game more streamlined for both newcomers and veterans alike. I'm glad Firaxis is still finding ways to improve a genre it has mastered over the years, and as a result, Sid Meier's Civilization 7 has the series in its best shape yet.

Monopoly GO has tons of different events for you to participate in, from daily tournaments to monthly Partners events and seasonal minigames with dozens of valuable rewards. Events are the way to go if you want to keep your dice high and obtain prizes like Wild Stickers and five-star card packs.

Monopoly GO event schedule
As of February 3, 2025, Monopoly GO has an ongoing main event, tournament, and a new Winter-themed Treasures event. Peg-E's Prize Drop recently ended, with Tundra Treasures following almost immediately after. A new season, Artful Tales, also began earlier this month and will last until March 2025.
Let's check out every Monopoly GO event, tournament, and season, including any publicly known upcoming events.
Season - Artful Tales
Monopoly GO's Artful Tales album includes 17 themed sets, with 10,000 dice, a Visual Virtuoso board token, and cash up for grabs as completion rewards.
Banner Event - Whale Wonders
The next Monopoly GO main event will begin on February 4, 2025, at 12 p.m. PT / 3 p.m. ET. Whale Wonders is your last opportunity to receive Tundra Treasures pickaxes, giving you an extra chance to obtain hundreds of dice and a Swap Pack. Collecting these is the key to progressing quickly during this recurring event.
Tournament - Tundra Trek
Monopoly GO's tournaments are typically daily, giving you a few thousand dice as potential rewards and leaderboard ranking prizes depending on how many railroad points you collect. Tundra Trek, in particular, lets you grab Tundra Treasures pickaxes to obtain some bonus dice, cash, and exclusive cosmetics.
Special Event - Tundra Treasures
Monopoly GO's latest special event is Tundra Treasures, a recurring minigame where you collect pickaxes and dig for hidden objects. As you advance through each level and uncover every hidden item, you'll claim dice, cash, and cosmetic rewards. The grand prize had 2,500 dice, a Swap Pack, and a massive cash bundle, giving plenty of incentive to work hard and obtain as many pickaxes as possible.
The previous event was a new variation of Peg-E's Prize Drop featuring emojis and board tokens as its main rewards. Peg-E's Prize Drop is a carnival-style plinko game where you drop tokens down a board and watch them bounce off various pegs before they fall into point holes. As you collect points, you'll advance through numerous reward tiers, with this version focusing on giving you dice.
Monopoly GO Quick Wins list - February 3
Alongside your regular events and minigames, Monopoly GO also has a Quick Wins list that gives you a small amount of dice and cash. Each day, you can collect various milestone prizes for finishing all three Quick Wins, with a weekly prize usually consisting of five-star packs or Wild Stickers.

Today's Monopoly GO Quick Wins tasks and rewards
Monopoly GO has three Quick Win objectives you can complete daily. These are typically quick and easy tasks you can finish to gain some small rewards and advance through a weekly prize pool. While early week rewards are small, the grand prize is usually a Five-Star pack, Swap Pack, or a Wild Sticker if we're lucky.

What are Quick Win tasks?
Monopoly GO's Quick Wins are daily tasks you complete for weekly rewards. You'll receive five small prizes daily, including dice, low-tier sticker packs, or emojis. The end-of-week reward is the most valuable, ranging between a Five-Star pack, Swap Packs, or even a Wild Sticker.
Here are some Quick Win objectives you might encounter throughout your Monopoly GO playthrough:
Since these are daily tasks, Scopely has designed them to be relatively easy to complete, even if you're a new player. However, you may still miss a few, especially if you're out of dice or don't get opportunities to open sticker packs.
How to find Monopoly GO's Quick Win task list
Your Quick Wins list is available directly on your main Monopoly GO screen. After loading in and arriving on your board, tap the "Wins" button in the bottom left corner of your screen to find your Quick Win objectives. You'll also spot a timer until the list refreshes, your weekly progress, and a reward bar at the bottom of the screen.
How many Quick Wins can you miss?
In Monopoly GO, completing all three Quick Win objectives daily will grant you 84 progress points a week. You only need 74 points to get a week's grand prize, allowing you to miss up to ten points worth of tasks.
However, one day gives you 12 points, so you can't miss a full day. Instead, you can have one day to complete the first task and skip the last two or two days to miss the third objective. As long as your missed tasks don't exceed ten progress points, you're in the clear for the week's end.
Tips for completing Monopoly GO Daily Quick Wins
Your exact strategies to finish your Quick Win tasks will depend on the day's objectives. While some days rely heavily on your dice rolls, others focus on upgrading landmarks and collecting stickers. The season of love has returned to Eorzea, and Final Fantasy XIV players have another chance to get their hands on a romantic reward for completing 2025's Valentione's Day event.
This year, the main reward is the Bouquet emote, allowing players to offer an obscenely large bundle of roses to another. If you want to get this emote, or any of the other items available this year, we've got you covered.
How to get the Bouquet emote in Final Fantasy XIV
To get the Bouquet emote for your collection, you'll need to complete the quest that makes up this year's Valentione's Day event. It's a pretty straightforward quest that won't even require you to leave Gridania.
To begin the event quest "I Promise You a Rose Garden", head to Old Gridania and talk to Astrid at Mih Khetto's Amphitheatre (X:10.2, Y:9.4). It turns out that the Botanist in charge of growing the roses is having relationship drama, and who better to act as a relationship counselor than the Warrior of Light?
After talking to Astrid, head to the Greatloam Growery, either on foot or via the Botanist's Guild Aethernet Shard, and find Laurovic (X:10.3, Y:9.4). He'll tell you the full story of Sylginie, his former love who disappeared out of the blue some time ago, and ask that you go out in search of her with only a description of an Elezen with silver hair and a Rose Earring.
To find her, you'll need to go back to Mih Khetto's Amphitheatre. Your task is made simple thanks to the names given to the three NPCs that you can possibly talk to:
Either speak to them all or head directly for the one with the Rose Earring to complete this step of the quest. Of course, things aren't ever simple in FFXIV. As it turns out Sylginie does not want to see Laurovic, and sends you off to tell him such. You'll find him close to the Shaded Bower (X:12.8, Y:9.2), and talking to him will provide a new twist to the story.
Now the task has changed, and you must plant a rumor around Gridania in order to entice Sylginie out of hiding. You'll have a choice between saying that Laurovic has been detained by an Ishgardian Knight, or that he's entered into a duel with one. Either way, the results will be the same, so it doesn't matter which you choose.
To spread the rumor, talk to the three following NPCs:
With the rumor in circulation, seek out Laurovic at the Greatloam Growery (X:6.1, Y:7.4) to trigger the final pivotal cutscene of the quest, and see him reunited with Sylginie.
After that, all that's left to do is head back to Astrid at Mih Khetto's Amphitheatre to complete the quest and obtain the Bouquet emote.
Valentione's Day 2025 additional rewards
If you want to get the full set of rewards exclusive to the 2025 Valentione's Day event, make sure to visit the House Valentione Maid (X:10.6, Y:8.7). This "Purveyor of Love" can be found just outside the main entrance to Mih Khetto's Amphitheatre, and has the following items for sale:

Cursed Techniques are your ultimate means to empower your build in Jujutsu Odyssey, and there are plenty of choices to explore.
Cursed Techniques, in simple words, are the specialization skills that you gradually unlock upon leveling up. While there are some terrific options available at launch, you'll need to unlock them first before you get to equip any. That said, let's take a look at how you can obtain the different Techniques in Jujutsu Odyssey.
How to obtain Cursed Techniques in Jujutsu Odyssey
To get Cursed Techniques in Jujutsu Odyssey, you'll have to get something called Cursed Wombs. These wombs, in turn, will allow you to unlock new techniques from the skill tree after you absorb them. We will discuss how to get the Cursed Wombs in the following section, since the method of obtaining them is slightly different.
While it's not necessary to have a top-tier Cursed Technique for a strong build, getting the better ones certainly will help your cause. Then again, you'll be relying on luck after absorbing the Cursed Wombs.
How to get Cursed Wombs in Jujutsu Odyssey
There are different ways to get Cursed Wombs inside the game, and they're less luck-reliant than you might think. Here are all the known ways currently available for you to get this resource in Jujutsu Odyssey.
Make sure to use a Womb whenever you obtain one by selecting the Absorb option. Once done, go to the skill tree, and you'll find the available Cursed Technique to equip. If you have an unused Womb and quit the game, it will be lost, so always be extra careful when you find one.

Here's a fun fact: at the end of this year, Fallout 4 will officially turn ten years old. Okay, maybe that's not such a fun fact. Time is a terrifying concept, as we all know. But at least there are mods to distract us from the inevitable.
In this case, it seems that someone had the thought: "Hey, why shouldn't the Tyrants from Resident Evil get to play in the Commonwealth?" And lo, they did create Reign of the Tyrants, a mod for Fallout 4 that does just that.
It kind of makes sense, when you think about it. I mean, much of the Fallout universe is built on the idea of a post-apocalyptic society that's awash with radiation a-plenty. Given the mutated state of RE's most brutish antagonists, it stands to reason that they should fit quite nicely into the Lone Survivor's merry jaunts across destroyed Boston.
Now with more Evil
According to its creator, gutrings, the mod simply adds a "wide variety" of Tyrants from the Resident Evil series as enemies. There are also new weapons and chems thrown in there for good measure. Oh, they also recommend only playing this if your character is level 30 or above. I guess they kept the tyrannical nature of these beasts when they added them in.
So far, there are four variants, totaling more than 50 spawns across the Commonwealth, as well as in the DLC Far Harbor. We can see from the images that we get Mr. X from the remakes of RE2 and RE3, as well as Nemesis, arguably the series' most notable (and hideous) Tyrant.
There's more to come as well, it seems. Going forward, gutrings intends to add the following to Reign of Tyrants:
The question mark in that last one is intriguing.
Anyway, I was wondering why no one had done something like this before. Fallout 4 (well, the franchise on the whole) does feature zombified enemies, something Resident Evil is fairly well known for. Plus, the aforementioned mutated state of the Tyrants suggests this is one mod that's been a long time coming. Although, it doesn't seem to be the first time someone else has thought to add them in.

At this point, it's tempting to pose the question: is there anybody, here in 2025, who hasn't yet played Minecraft? At last count, some 300 million copies had been sold, making it one of the best-selling video games of all time.
The only thing that beats it is Tetris, which has been out for way longer, anyway. But it's still pretty mind-blowing that a small indie game that began as a one-person passion project could go on to dominate the gaming landscape, with a legacy that endures more than 15 years on.
It almost feels a bit passé to still be talking about Minecraft, given its well-documented and enormous success. It's like asking whether you should still play Super Mario. Most gamers, even ones who haven't played it, are already well aware of what Mojang has contributed to the gaming world.
But it's often a good idea to take a step back with these things, to remind ourselves why the games we play endure for so long (Skyrim being another example). With that in-mind – and just in case there are people reading this who aren't familiar – let's look at why Minecraft is still worth playing in 2025.
Minecraft's future is far from over
When Microsoft bought Minecraft back in 2014 – effectively turning its creator into a billionaire – the game was only just beginning. I mean, it was already hugely successful (it had sold over 17 million copies by the end of 2012), but these were still technically the early days
True, the game was already enjoying success on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 – as well as on PC where it started – with Xbox One and PS4 versions coming just days before the acquisition. But Microsoft buying the game has led to a pretty enormous explosion in terms of content.
Just recently, it was announced there would be new cow variants, ambient desert sounds, and new bushes coming. These don't sound terribly exciting, admittedly, but it shows that Minecraft is still being tended to after a decade and a half.
And that's just the tip of the very blocky iceberg. Since 2014, there have been a ton of updates, including the long-awaited Caves and Cliffs. We've also had a slew of new mobs, and there have been several more ports, including for the Wii U, Nintendo Switch, and the PS5 (but not Xbox Series X|S, for some reason).
There are still a lot of things to come, some of which exist outside the physical game, including a couple of Minecraft theme parks. Then there's the upcoming live-action movie starring Jack Black. But let's not talk about that.
In short: we're nowhere near done with this thing.
Minecraft's replay value and universal appeal
One of Minecraft's greatest strengths, in my eyes, is its appeal to all audiences. Yes, on the surface, it seems like it's more suited for children, but I imagine the kind of person who says it's "just a kid's game" is also the kind of person who denies themselves a delicious and colorful cocktail because it's "not a proper drink, innit."
My point is that anyone can play Minecraft. Parents and children gather to boot up a world they've been constructing and exploring together. It's being passed down to the next generation. My young nephew has started playing it. Likewise, I know plenty of people in their 30s and above who keep going back to it.
The reason it has such universal appeal, even today, is because of the endless gameplay possibilities. Even from the very first iteration back in 2009, it was obvious that Minecraft had a lot to give. It has, quite frankly, perfected the open-world game mechanic that caters to all sorts of play styles, whether it's building or gathering resources; mining or crafting.
It's essentially LEGO in digital form, and who could resist the urge to pick up a few bricks and start constructing if given half the chance? It has a calming approach to gaming (save for a few hostile mobs) that you don't often get in modern titles. Minecraft endures because it just goes, "here, have fun with this."
Mods only add to it
Ah, mods. How I enjoy talking about them. Though I'm ashamed to admit I don't install as many as I'd like. Mainly because I have an aging laptop that's possibly close to death at this point. Shh, it's okay, laptop. We'll get through this.
Anyway, as if Minecraft wasn't near-infinite enough in its vanilla format, there are so, so many mods out there that stretch things beyond any kind of mental comprehension. Everything from texture packs that change how the game looks to adding in custom role-playing stories to weather changes to... this monstrosity.
Of course, you don't need to modify Minecraft in order to get the most out of it. In fact, you can probably play the standard game for years and still discover new things. But I've also tried to champion the efforts that fans put into customizing games, whether it's to improve on what the developer released or just because they can. You don't need to justify it sometimes.
What I'm saying is that Minecraft already offers an assortment of ways to keep you glued to the game as soon as you install it. But what's the harm in making it "infiniter" (do you like my new word)?
So, is Minecraft worth playing in 2025?
Look, I can see that this is coming across as a bit of arse-kissing. I'm not intending to say that Minecraft is the perfect video game (it's no Streets of Rage 2, for starters). I know it has its faults and, quite frankly, not everyone's a fan to begin with. To say nothing of the controversy surrounding its original developer...
But my girlfriend and I recently got back into the game, having basically just let it gather metaphorical dust on my Xbox. There's something to be said for a game that you can keep coming back to, even if you don't have any lofty ideas of what to do when you actually log in.
But whether you like Minecraft or not, the fact that it's still pulling in players some 15 years after it was released, the fact that it's the second biggest-selling game in history, the fact that it doesn't discriminate against who it feels should be playing it, the fact that it keeps growing in terms of official content and updates...these are the reasons it endures.
That a live-action movie adaptation is coming out says something about Minecraft's longevity. Okay, maybe it' might be's a little too late; the hype for the game has definitely waned over the years and traditional media is typically slow to catch on. But the game's broad appeal and replay value is something a lot of studios would give anything for.
So should you still play Minecraft in 2025? To paraphrase video game critic Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw: it's worth remembering that sometimes there's a reason why something is so popular.

The launch of the Tropica Island update has increased Dig It's popularity among Roblox players, and there has been an influx of fresh newcomers to the game.

The Yellow Squid Backpack is now available in Squid Game X Roblox as part of the UGC Event, and you can get the new accessory by competing in the different modes.
Once unlocked, you can equip this accessory from your inventory and use it inside the game. But first, you'll have to obtain it, and that requires getting a fair few wins. Let's take a look at how you can add the Yellow Squid Backpack in Squid Game X.
How to obtain the Yellow Squid Backpack in Squid Game X
To get the new backpack, you'll have to win the whole game 15 times. The unlock might be free, but the requirements are pretty stiff. Winning the whole game is no mean feat since you'll have to test yourself via various different rounds.
You'll be able to check your win count from the hub world. Just click on the Yellow Backpack kiosk, and it will keep a tab on how many wins you've obtained and how far you still have to go before unlocking the accessory.

Jujutsu Odyssey could become the next major Roblox hit from the sphere of anime-based games, and the game already has an official Trello board, along with an active Discord community.
The new launch went live earlier on February 2, 2025, and it draws a massive amount of inspiration from Jujutsu Kaisen. While the Trello board will serve as your go-to guide for information, the Discord server will help you bond with fellow players.

Joining the official Discord server is pretty easy, and all you need is a Discord account. Once you've created your account (or signed into your existing one), just click on this link. You'll be able to access all the channels that are present on the server.
The Discord community will be your go-to hub for everything related to Jujutsu Odyssey. This includes participating in general chats with fellow players and being on top of the updates. There's already a dedicated channel for updates, and expect to find a lot of new information in the days to come.
