Nuclear wastelands are a captivating backdrop for many reasons. The environment, every living thing within it, the political landscape, they're all completely shaped by whatever incident occurred. Much of our understanding is based on hypotheticals, as well, fueling our imaginations for what could happen. Chernobylite 2 takes those fears and injects some classic sci-fi for good measure, and after a strong crowdfunding reception, it'll be playable soon.

When I've had enough of fighting the dogs in a respectable, straightforward manner, I pick them up with my mind and - with a casualness that has to be extremely insulting if you're a dog - drop them directly off a cliff. This ends the fight immediately. Sometimes I resort to this low move out of frustration, when a dull fight has dragged on for too long. Sometimes I resort to it out of panic, because I've accidentally set fire to every hard surface within ten feet, or frozen myself to a wall. Often it's just for the pleasure of it.

In Eternal Strands, Yellow Brick Games' debut title, you play the leader of a "weaver band", a crew of freelance magicians, in a world where something extremely bad happened to magic. Some years ago, the Enclave, a city state acting as the isolationist heart of the world's magic, exploded in a kind of power surge - one part tsunami, one part blown fuse - and just as quickly sealed itself off from the world outside. Somehow managing to breach the wall, your band finds themselves the first people to set foot inside the ruined capital since the calamity and sets about uncovering the mystery of what exactly went wrong.

Naruto Itachi Figure Minato

As part of the 20th Anniversary of the Naruto series, consumers can get their hands on a Minato and Itachi Banpresto Reproprize figures. The figures will be available outside of Japan through the Banpresto online storefront, which includes it's store through Amazon, and can be purchased for $27.

You can take a look at the Naruto Minato and Itachi design contest figures below:

https://twitter.com/Taito_Olcrane/status/1887156225499898159

However, if you're not interested in purchasing the figures from the official Banpresto online storefront, you can always try your luck at a TAITO game center. That said, you'll need to be in Japan in order to go about this method.

The figure designs are based of entries to the Shadow Clone Transformation Showdown! design contest. The official Naruto website published an interview with the contest winner, which also revealed which characters would receive figures in this specific line.

In July 2024, Bandai Namco revealed a Naruto figure inspired by Journey to the West. The figure, part of the special GEM series remix, was available to pre-order for a limited time. It featured a version of the titular protagonist, Naruto, in an outfit inspired by Sun Wukong from Journey to the West, staff included.

Naruto and Naruto Shippuden can be watched on Crunchyroll, which offers all 720 episodes. For manga readers, Viz Media distributes the Naruto manga outside Japan.

It will be possible to be notified of an item's appearance there via signing up for Back-in-Stock alerts on product pages. Also, all items there will be final sale products that can't be replaced or returned.

Free Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket Trade Tokens Delivered

The Pokemon Company International announced a free gift of Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket Trade Tokens for all players. This comes after the company announced there would be changes made to the trading feature following negative feedback from those who attempted to use it.

Currently, in Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket a player needs to acquire Trade Tokens if they want to start trading valid cards with people set as friends. However, you need between 25 and 1,500 of these items to trade depending on the rarity of the card, and both people participating in the swap need that amount. The primary means of getting them is to exchange duplicates of cards you collected and selecting Trade Tokens as the item you want from them.

On January 31, 2025, The Pokemon Company International first addressed feedback about the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket Trade Tokens and system. It admitted that the choices meant people weren't able to "casually enjoy the feature." This gift of 1,000 Trade Tokens is designed to make it easier for people to swap cards in the meantime. That original announcement also noted that eventually events will give away the item to make things easier for folks.

In the meantime, a number of events are running. One is a Space-Time Smackdown Emblem Event tied to collecting new cards from the latest expansion pack. That runs until February 24, 2025. There is also a Cresselia ex Drop Event with promo cards that can be earned through Solo Battles.

Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket is available for mobile devices worldwide.

Steam Early Access Games That Aren't Updated Now Include Warnings

SteamDB confirmed that Valve updated the descriptions appearing on Early Access PC games on the Steam storefront to warn people about stagnant projects. The notice explaining how long it has been since the developers updated a title will appear immediately after the Early Access notification and before the text going over the developer description.

A good example to compare the change is to show how Fields of Mistria, a Stardew Valley style life sim currently in Early Access on Steam and actively update, looks when compared to the product page for Folk Tale, which entered that phase in 2013 and had development stop in 2017. As Fields of Mistria is regularly updated, there is no notice. In January 2025, NPC Studio announced a March 2025 update for example. Since Folk Tale development ended and it is even no longer on Steam, the warning notice is present. It reads, "Note: The last update made by the developers was over 7 years ago. The information and timeline described by the developers here may no longer be up to date."

Here's a gallery showing how an Early Access box on Steam looks both with and without the warning notice about gaps in updates about games.

Valve did not note how much of a gap there needs to be since the last update on an Early Access game before that notification will appear on a product page.

Dead by Daylight 2v8 Mode Adds Resident Evil Killers Wesker and Nemesis

Behaviour Interactive announced it is not only bringing back 2v8 to Dead by Daylight for a limited time, but that it also now features Resident Evil Killers The Nemesis and Albert "The Mastermind" Wesker. It will run between February 10-25, 2025.

Bascially, this means that if you go through that mode, you can select Resident Evil content for it. You could select both Nemesis and Wesker as the two killers for the match, for example. Raccoon City Police Department will also now be a possible map that can come up during this mode. Matches with them will also feature items tied to the series. So Green and Yellow Herbs will spawn on the map to heal Survivor Health and Hook States. If you get to a Supply Crate, it could have an antidote capable of curing Nemesis' T-Virus or Wesker's Uroboros.

Both Wesker and Nemesis appeared in Dead by Daylight as part of Resident Evil collabs before this 2v8 event. The Nemesis was the Killer in the Chapter 20 update that included survivors Jill Valentine and Leon S Kennedy. That launched in June 2021. Meanwhile, The Mastermind Killer showed up with Survivors Ada Wong and Rebecca Chambers in Chapter 25, which debuted in August 2022. There hasn't been any word on any new crossover DLC featuring characters, items, and maps from the series just yet. One of the last game crossovers involved Castlevania and appeared in August 2024.

Dead by Daylight is available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the 2v8 Resident Evil event runs February 10-25, 2025.

Dragon Ball Sparking Zero Bandai Namco Profits

Bandai Namco announced significant profits in its Q3 FY2025 financial reports, which were led by sales of Elden Ring and Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero. Toy lines, such as its Gundam model kits, also contributed to a big part of the company's success.

Bandai Namco has seen a big jump in profits in their Q3 FY2025 financial results from the previous year. The company's games sector saw a jump in profit from ¥1.5 billion to over ¥70 billion. Overall, its profits soared from ¥78 billion to ¥179 billion. While all their divisions saw growth, the games sector saw the biggest leap.

Bandai Namco credited both Elden Ring and Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero with the rise in profits. The release of the Elden Ring expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, was a factor, as sales of the expansion were boosted by additional sales of the base game. Meanwhile, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero launched to great success, with Bandai Namco announcing the game has sold 5 million copies since its release in October 2024.

Gundam was also cited in other areas, as sales of model kits remained high. Bandai Namco also singled out box office revenue for Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom as a contributor to the rise in profits. In May 2024, the movie had made around $2.9 million in the domestic box office. Since then, a new version of the movie, complete with additional epilogue, has been released to similar success.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero and Elden Ring are both out now for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Elden Ring: Nightreign, a new multiplayer spin-off game, has been confirmed for a 2025 release.

Both the Junko and Monokuma Danganronpa plush toys will be nine inches tall. Both feature embroidery and stitching around their faces for their expressions. Junko also wears a school uniform and has bear hairclips at the tops of her pigtails that look like Monokuma.

While both are still in development and not available yet, there are preliminary photos of both stuffed animals to give us an idea of how they'll look when they're released. Here's how those look:

Youtooz is well known for pop culture merchandise like figures and plush toys, so it isn't unexpected for it to also make and sell Danganronpa products. One of the most recent announcements in 2025 was an Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Hero collection. There were also Persona 5 Tactica figures and a Dokibird figure released in 2024.

As for other Danganronpa merchandise, Good Smile Company is continuing to release figures. Its latest is a bunny girl version of Celestia.

Mega Man 11 Kotobukiya Model Kits

Kotobukiya announced a revised release date for the two new Mega Man 11 model kits. The kits will now be releasing sometime in June 2025. They are planned to appear in every region, though we will likely see them launch first in Japan.

The Scramble Thunder and Pile Drive Mega Man model kits were originally available for pre-order on October 10, 2024. However, pre-orders were temporarily halted on November 14, 2024. No reason was provided for the suspension of orders at the time. Originally, Mega Man Scramble Thunder was set for an April 2025 release and Mega Man Pile Driver was set for a May 2025 release. They will both now be released in June 2025. Pre-orders have also resumed. It's unclear if existing pre-orders will be maintained.

The model kits are based on the Scramble Thunder and Pile Drive variations of Mega Man from the eleventh game in the mainline series. These weapons were obtained from Fuse Man and Impact Man respectively. The Scramble Thunder variation is a green and black color with a helmet decorated with electrical coils. The Pile Drive variation is an orange and black construction site aesthetic. Both model kits are available to pre-order from Kotobukiya for ¥8,580 each. The completed figures are around 5 inches tall.

The Pile Drive and Scramble Thunder Mega Man kits are the latest in a long line of Mega Man kits from Kotobukiya. These range from standard versions of Mega Man in his standard Mega Buster form to a large range based on the Mega Man X subseries.

The Mega Man 11 Kotobukiya Pile Drive and Scramble Thunder model kits are available for pre-order now. They will release sometime in June 2025.

Destiny 2 Arc Warlock key art.

Episode: Heresy has set itself up to offer one of the best experiences for Destiny 2's Arc Subclasses. With sweeping buffs across the Subclass, new Aspects, and a new keyword, Bolt Charge, to play with, it looks like Arc may be the strongest it has ever been for Heresy.

Of course, an individual Guardian's experience may vary, which typically depends on the quality of a player's build. If you know how to craft a setup that leans into what's currently hot, you'll have no problem playing with all of Destiny 2's new Arc Subclass toys. If not, well, that's what I'm here for.

Start strong with the Artifact

Screenshot by Destructiod

For Episode: Heresy, Guardians can access the Tablet of Ruin as an Artifact. While the Tablet of Ruin isn't as singularly focused as the Stasis-centric Artifact from Episode: Revenant, there are quite a few options that benefit Arc players. With the, frankly, wild changes to the Arc Subclass and a number of its features, the Heresy Artifact ensures players can have a blast while riding the lightning.

In particular, Overclock And Load is available in the second column, offering bonus Handling and Reload Speed stats to any Arc weapons wielded while you're Amplified or have Bolt Charge active. This proves especially nice as a compliment to the reworked Amplified state, now granting damage resistance and making enemies less accurate.

The third column has two Artifact Perks of note, Dielectric and Photonic Flare. Dielectric ensures that players gain a stack of Bolt Charge whenever they defeat an enemy with an Arc debuff (Blind or Jolt). On the other hand, Photonic Flare creates a Blinding explosion whenever an Exhausted or Severed enemy is defeated with Arc damage. Sever is easy enough to apply with Strand weapons, and Exhausted comes from Overload weapons or those with specific Origin Traits.

There's only one Arc Artifact Perk in the fourth column, but it's absolutely worth having. Flashover massively interacts with the new Bolt Charge keyword, increasing its lightning bolt damage and making Guardians Amplified when they reach max stacks of Bolt Charge. With Amplified as good as it is, you'll want to be in that state as often as possible.

Finally, the last column of the Artifact has Defibrillating Blast. Still, depending on the final build setup, you may get more mileage out of Particle Reconstruction or Heavy Ordnance Regeneration. Defibrillating Blast grants max stacks of Bolt Charge when players stun a Champion. The Arc bolt created heals the wielder and Jolts nearby enemies.

Of course, with alternatives like Volatile Marksman, Horde Shuttle, and Particle Reconstruction, you may be tempted toward another elemental affinity. The good news is, there's some wiggle room for these alternatives, even if players go for all of the Arc options. So, feel free to throw on that Strand Support Frame auto rifle to heal in The Nether.

Players can choose between two main Arc build styles with the Warlock Class. Guardians can either go all in on support with Ionic Traces to ensure god-like ability regeneration for themselves and allies or opt to maximize damage. Either build can work wonders; it's just a matter of the content players intend to tackle and what kind of gameplay they want.

Ionic Trace farmer Warlock

Ionic Traces are great. The Arc-exclusive pickups restore ability energy on their own, and they can be buffed with all manner of Aspects, Fragments, and Exotics to do some truly remarkable things. For instance, with the right setup, Warlocks can become an Ionic Trace-generating machine and gain stacks of Bolt Charge in the process. Not only do those Ionic Traces restore energy to all of your abilities, but whenever an Ionic Trace tracks to you, allies benefit, too.

This build starts with the Subclass, where Warlocks will want to play with some new Aspects and Fragments. For regular abilities, Healing Rift, Chain Lightning, and Flashbang Grenade offer additional support, allowing for healing, Jolt, and Blind, respectively. Super choice can be up to players, but I've enjoyed having Chaos Reach for some big damage whenever needed.

Arc Aspects for this support-focused build are Ionic Sentry and Electrostatic Mind. Ionic Sentry is a new Aspect that gives Warlocks easy access to Bolt Charge stacks. As players eliminate foes with Arc weapons or abilities (or Kinetic weapons), they build progress toward an Ionic Sentry turret. When activated, it Blinds enemies on impact and chains Arc damage to nearby foes. Electrostatic Mind helps add to the near-constant flow of Ionic Traces Guardians will create, spawning one whenever enemies are defeated with Arc abilities or if they're affected by Jolt or Blind. Electrostatic Mind also refreshes Amplify whenever an Ionic Trace is nabbed.

Fragments are where players have a bit of wiggle room. A few, like Spark of Resistance, are an auto-include because damage resistance is so important, but others are more dependent on play style. Spark of Discharge is also worth using, ensuring all those Ionic Traces grant stacks of Bolt Charge and offering a chance to create more Ionic Traces when using Arc weapons. From there, the other two Fragments aren't set in stone. Personally, I like Spark of Frequency and Spark of Beacons. The two Fragments help strengthen other aspects of the build, spreading the Blind debuff and improving Amplified.

Moving to gear, the piece that makes this build come alive is the Fallen Sunstar Exotic helmet. The Exotic improves Ionic Traces, making the pickups track to you faster and granting bonus ability energy. Taking things to the next level, nearby Fireteam members also get ability energy back whenever you do. Complimenting the Exotic helm is an Arc fusion rifle from Season of the Plunder: Delicate Tomb. The Exotic fusion rifle now benefits from massive buffs, including Particle Reconstruction. It also generates Ionic Traces and Jolts enemies, playing into everything else we have going on.

Stat-wise Guardians will want to ensure they're hardy enough by capping Resilience at 100. From there, this build wants ability energy for frequent Flashbang grenades, so Discipline comes next, followed by Recovery.

Electric friends Warlock

Screenshot by Destructoid

If Warlocks want to focus on pumping out as much damage as possible instead of supporting the Fireteam, Arc still has plenty to offer. Arc Warlocks always had the option to take along an Arc Soul, shooting at anything foolish enough to get in your way. Well, now that Arc buddy can be accompanied by the new Ionic Sentry turret, leading to destructive displays of friendship and power. Part of the allure of this build is its simplicity and flexibility. It can be used with any number of Exotics or heavy weapons to accommodate demanding Raid encounters or other high-difficulty activities.

The build starts in the Subclass menu, where players will want to opt for Healing Rift, Chain Lightning, and Flashbang Grenade, just like the previous build. The Aspects are also the same options, Electrostatic Mind and Ionic Sentry. The reasons are different; however, with Electrostatic Mind only in the build to ensure Ionic Traces make us Amplified. Ionic Sentry is more in the spotlight in this build, as we'll use it as fast as possible.

Fragments are also similar to those chosen for the support build. Guardians still want Spark of Discharge for Bolt Charge access and Spark of Resistance for hardiness. To that end, Spark of Beacons will almost always be active, and the Blind effect helps ensure Arc Artifact Perks trigger. Finally, as this build will be played more aggressively and with more emphasis on Bolt Charge, Spark of Frequency offers a better Amplified effect and makes Bolt Charge stacks count for more.

Destiny 2's Indebted Kindness sidearm.
Screenshot by Destructoid

While much of the Subclass setup is similar, the build comes into its own with the Exotic choice. The Getaway Artist Exotic gauntlets allow Warlocks to consume their Arc grenade to become Amplified and gain an empowered Arc Soul instantly. With Flashbang Grenade's low cooldown and a few Ionic Traces, players will find that they have their grenade recharged before their Arc Soul fizzles out.

There isn't any one specific Exotic weapon that makes this build function, and that's okay. Players can use whatever heavy and primary weapons they want, but it is worth having an Arc special weapon equipped to make use of Spark of Beacons. With Piercing Sidearms in the Artifact this Episode, Indebted Kindness fits the bill nicely -- especially if players managed to earn a roll with Voltshot.

Warlocks should be ripping across the battlefield like a bolt of lightning. Start encounters by consuming your grenade to create an Arc Soul, and then start decimating foes with Arc weapons. It shouldn't be long before players have an Ionic Sentry available. Then it's just a matter of keeping the two Arc buddies going while triggering Bolt Charge lightning strikes and plugging away with whatever else Guardians want to use. Like the other Warlock build, Resilience and Discipline are king. Once both are at 100, Guardians can dump the rest of their stats into Recovery.

Hunters

Destiny 2 Arc Hunter Subclass screen.
Screenshot by Destructoid

Though Hunters may not have gotten a whole new Arc Aspect, the Class did get some substantial Subclass changes. As such, there are now some notable options if Hunters are looking for a shocking new build. With Bolt Charge on the table, players can incorporate it into a well-rounded Arc setup or build completely into the new effect to get as much out of it as possible.

Hive Boomer Hunter

If Guardians ever wanted to know what it felt like to play as the Hive in Destiny 2, this Hunter build is probably as close as we'll ever get. The setup allows players to wield an iconic Hive weapon and reap benefits that even the Lightbearing Hive don't have access to. Hunters will become a thunderous wrecking ball powered by Hive magic and electricity.

Getting the build rolling, Hunters will want to equip Gambler's Dodge, Disorienting Blow, and any grenade players wish. We're taking Gambler's Dodge to ignore the long cooldown on Disorienting Blow, and we're taking that so we can become Amplified whenever we strike an enemy with the melee ability. It also grants Bolt Charge stacks and blinds the target. For a Super, Gathering Storm is an all-around solid choice, but there's no harm if you really want to use another.

Aspect-wise, Ascension got a bit of a glow-up since its initial arrival, now offering more Fragment Slots and the ability to Amplify allies. It also Jolts enemies within range, too. The other Aspect of choice is Flow State, refreshing Amplified whenever Hunters defeat a Jolted enemy. For Fragments, Spark of Resistance offers that nice damage resistance, and Spark of Frequency makes Amplified and Bolt Charge even better.

Spark of Ions works alongside Flow State, creating an Ionic Trace when Jolted enemies go down. Those Ionic Traces benefit from Spark of Discharge, granting more total Bolt Charge stacks. It's up to players for the last Fragment, but Spark of Amplitude can be nice for some free Orbs of Power.

Destiny 2 Ex Diris Exotic weapon.
Screenshot by Destructoid

The thing that makes this entire build work is the combination of two Exotics: the Mothkeeper's Wraps and the Ex Diris grenade launcher. The Mothkeeper's Wraps Exotic changes grenades to two charges of a new ability. This new grenade releases moths that target enemies, Blinding them on detonation. If they find an ally instead, they grant Void Overshields. Ex Diris also works with moths, creating them on direct or final blows. However, when the two are combined, Ex Diris can create multiple moths when its effect occurs, and the same happens when you toss a moth grenade.

To make the most out of this build, players will need to ensure special ammo is plentiful. To that end, getting the armor mods section of this setup is extra important. For stats, Guardians will want to hit 100 Resilience first before pouring as much as possible into Discipline, then Mobility.

Lightning strike Hunter

Gifted Conviction Exotic armor in Destiny 2.
Screenshot by Destructoid

If Hunters want more flexibility in their weapon choice, the next build offers plenty of opportunities for Bolt Charge. It even incorporates the weapons that inspired the feature to double down on lightning strikes on priority targets. Guardians can bring a storm's wrath anywhere they like on the battlefield and reposition to another target in the blink of an eye.

For Subclass setup, players can take Marksman's Dodge and Combination Blow if they need to lay into bosses during a prolonged damage phase. Otherwise, Hunters should opt for Disorienting Blow and Gambler's Dodge more generally for the Bolt Charge stacks, the primary means of getting the Amplified buff, and the Blind debuff on enemies. The grenade choice should be Pulse. For Supers, if boss damage is a concern, Gathering Storm is the way to go. Otherwise, Storm's Edge offers impressive clearing capabilities and acts as an emergency eject button.

We're looking to get the most functionality out of our Exotic armor choice, so for Aspects, we'll be taking Tempest Strike and Ascension. Tempest Strike lets Hunters use a powered melee while sliding to unleash an Arc uppercut projectile that Jolts anything it hits. The Aspect also grants Bolt Charge stacks when defeating enemies. Ascension also functions based on movement, allowing players to activate while airborne to travel upwards, Jolting enemies with Arc damage and Amplifying allies.

Destiny 2's Cloudstrike Exotic sniper.
Screenshot by Destructoid

In the realm of Fragments, Hunters want to maximize all their effects in play. As such, Spark of Shock and Spark of Magnitude will improve Pulse grenades, increasing duration and making them Jolt targets. Working with that, along with all of our other sources of Jolt, Spark of Ions generates ability energy-restoring Ionic Traces. Finally, Spark of Frequency and Spark of Resistance make Hunters hardier, boosting Amplified effects, increasing Bolt Charge stacks gained, and increasing damage resistance.

For gear, Hunters are looking at the Gifted Conviction Exotic. This chest armor ensures that a volley of bouncing Arc explosives also Jolts nearby enemies whenever Ascension or Tempest Strike is activated. If the effect Jolts enemies, Hunters additionally gain bonus damage resistance. We'll take either the Thunderlord Exotic machine gun or the Cloudstrike Exotic sniper to make that setup all the sweeter. Either choice creates the same lightning strike effect that inspired Bolt Charge with repeated damage.

After everything is put together, players can use Ascension, Tempest Strike, or even Storm's Edge to maneuver around the battlefield. As players use their abilities and movement tech, they'll be Jolting enemies and becoming Amplified on a near-constant basis. All the while, ability energy and Bolt Charge will be plentiful, which can lead to back-to-back big hits between the Pulse grenade, Ascension, Tempest Strike, Bolt Charge, and whichever Exotic weapon players choose. Stat priorities are much like most other Hunter builds, 100 Resilience first, then stack Discipline and Mobility.

Titan

Destiny 2 Titan Arc Subclass screen.
Screenshot by Destructoid

The Titan Class has seen a lot of changes over the last two Episodes, both to Subclass functionality and general performance. Arc is looking pretty spicy for Heresy, with great build options to let players become a never-ending Bolt Charge amplifier or an unkillable vanguard breaking through the front lines.

Lightning Rod Titan

The first Titan build leans into the new Bolt Charge feature, allowing the whole Fireteam to seamlessly build stacks and discharge the feature passively through weapon damage. Titans will be holding the line, dropping a recently improved Barricade and unloading on foes with Arc weapons and abilities to unleash lightning strike after lightning strike of Bolt Charge.

Starting with Subclass selection, Titans want to take Rally Barricade for its short cooldown, as it will heavily play into Aspects. Thunderclap generally works pretty well for a powered melee, even if players can't charge it all the way. If you're confident in your Ballistic Slam abilities, it was buffed to grant Bolt Charge and deal more potential damage. Pulse grenade is also on the menu, similarly working with a chosen Aspect. For Super, Titans can take Thundercrash for massive damage whenever it's up.

Destiny 2 Thunderlord Exotic.
Screenshot by Destructoid

In the world of Aspects, Titans are going for Touch of Thunder and Storm's Keep. Touch of Thunder improves several grenade options, including Pulse grenades, increasing its damage over time and generating Ionic Traces. Storm's Keep is the new Aspect, rewarding multiple stacks of Bolt Charge to the user and nearby allies whenever a Barricade is deployed. Guardians behind the Barricade gain additional stacks of Bolt Charge, and weapon damage can discharge the effect.

Fragments are straightforward, improving grenades, buffing Amplified, and making Bolt Charge stacks count for more. Titans will want to take Spark of Shock, Spark of Magnitude, Spark of Resistance, and Spark of Frequency. Together, these should make Titans and their Barricade a solid rally point.

The Exotic armor piece that helps bring this setup to life is an old favorite: Heart of Inmost Light. The Exotic chest armor is perfect for a build using Barricades as often as possible, as using one ability empowers the other two with faster regeneration and increased damage. Titans can drop a Barricade and immediately gain enhanced Pulse grenades (which are already benefitting from several buffs) and a beefier Thunderclap. Of course, the Barricade and Storm's Keep are interacting to provide Bolt Charge, not only to you but also to the whole Fireteam.

Guardians can finish the build with an Exotic weapon like Thunderlord to double down on Arc lightning Strikes. And that machine gun can be made all the better with the Heavy Ordnance Regeneration Artifact Perk. To make the most out of this setup, Titans will want to prioritize Resilience above all else, as it's also the stat used for its Class abilities. That ensures Barricade uptime is as optimal as can be, and additional stats can go into Discipline and then Recovery.

Amplified Berserker

Destiny 2 Insurmountable Skullfort Exotic.
Screenshot by Destructoid

The alternate Titan build is for Guardians who want to be a menace to the enemy force, running headlong into swarms and obliterating swathes of foes. Players will have ample protection and heal while they take out their rage in melee combat.

Titans will want their Arc Subclass tuned, including important Aspect and ability choices, to get this build rolling. For Class ability, this build uses Thruster because we're not building into Barricade interactions, and it has the shortest cooldown out of the available options. Our melee ability will be Thunderclap, and it will be a cornerstone of the build. Flashbang works great as a grenade choice, offering a fantastic opener or a way to escape a sticky situation. As for the Super, Either Fists of Havoc or Thundercrash both work well, depending on what the content calls for.

Aspect-wise, this Titan build uses Juggernaut and Knockout. Juggernaut provides a front-facing shield when sprinting with a charged Class ability. If enemies damage the shield, Titans gain a stack of Bolt Charge. Being Amplified increases the strength of the shield. Knockout allows us to become Amplified when we defeat enemies with melee attacks and heals us in the process. The Aspect also buffs regular melee attacks with Arc, increasing range and damage.

Screenshot by Destructoid

Fragment choices are self-explanatory, feeding into the Juggernaut Aspect and the types of gameplay the build best supports. The mainstay choices are Spark of Resistance and Spark of Frequency, increasing protections, and the Amplified buff, respectively. Spark of Frequency also benefits from all the melee Titans will be doing, increasing weapon Reload Speed and Stability after landing a melee hit. Spark of Haste also increases Resilience, Recovery, and Mobility while players sprint (which they'll be doing quite a bit). Finally, Spark of Feedback is spicy, increasing outgoing melee damage after players receive melee damage.

For Exotic armor, this build excels with An Insurmountable Skullfort. The Exotic helmet fully restores melee ability energy and a chuck of health with each powered melee kill. Considering the sheer power of Thunderclap, even if it's completely uncharged, that's no problem when facing down Minor enemies and even some Majors. Even if the Thunderclap doesn't land a kill, melee energy is restored based on the number of melee hits from the ability.

For weapons, the Monte Carlo Exotic auto rifle completes the build. The Exotic restores melee energy on auto rifle hits, so a whiffed Thunderclap isn't as big a deal as you might imagine. Even better, if players have the Catalyst, its "melee" attack triggers An Insurmountable Skullfort's healing and melee regeneration effects. If players want to go the extra mile, they can add a sword to decimate big targets that refuse to go down. Players will want to ensure they max their Resilience at 100 before moving to focus on Discipline and Recovery next. Strength would normally be a consideration, but Monte Carlo's effect allows us to ignore the stat.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 characters around a fire

During the tutorial sequence at the start of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you're given various dialogue choices for Henry that can increase one of his many skills. Picking one of these choices gives you extra points in that skill, which can help later in the game.

One of the first instances of Henry needing to pick a specific dialogue option is around the campfire outside of Trosky Castle. Here, Henry, Lord Hans Capon, Oats, and your other comrades are swapping stories and getting some digs in while waiting for the sun to go down. During the middle of the dialogue, you can pick between one of four dialogue choices for Henry: Houndmaster, Stealth, Survival, or Scholarship.

So, the question is, which is the best one to pick for the long run in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?

The differences between Houndmaster, Stealth, Survival, and Scholarship

The four dialogue choices you can pick between all relate to specific skills that Henry possesses. These skills can be leveled up just like your standard Strength, Vitality, and other stats, and the more points that go into them, the more abilities you unlock for Henry.

If you head into your inventory, navigate to the "Player" tab at the top of the screen and view Henry's skills. In the Player tab, go to the "Skills" section to see your current level for all the available skills, how to level them up, and what each one offers.

Here's a quick breakdown of the Houndmaster, Stealth, Survival, and Scholarship skills:

  • Houndmaster: Allows for better control over Mutt, your dog. Leveling up Houndmaster gives Mutt new perks and gives him the ability to find items, grow stronger and more obedient, and makes him tire out less easily.
  • Stealth: Improves the overall stealth of Henry. You are harder to spot when crouching, which comes in handy if you don't want to engage in combat with an enemy or you need to sneak into a building without someone noticing.
  • Survival: Makes it easier to hunt game and get more meat from the animals you kill. You can also gather herbs quicker and use the fast travel system more effectively.
  • Scholarship: Increases your literacy level, allowing Henry to comprehend written text in books, letters, etc. The skill also makes it faster to read, which can give you an edge in certain situations during Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

The Houndmaster skill in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Screenshot by Destructoid

You'll also get to level up more skills through dialogue options in the future. However, the first time you can do so requires you to pick between Houndmaster, Stealth, Survival, and Scholarship.

What's the best option to pick in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?

Now that you have a better idea of what each skill does, what's the best one to pick during the opening of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2? Well, it doesn't truly matter. Without giving too much of the story away, you'll soon find yourself in a pickle, which will result in Henry losing a majority of his skill points. That means the points you get from using any of the dialogue options go away after this happens.

The choice between all four dialogue options. Screenshot by Destructoid

However, if you have to make another choice in the future or simply want some advice on what skill to target, my recommendation would be either Houndmaster or Stealth. While Survival and Scholarship are important, you won't get much use out of them if you don't explicitly seek out ways to utilize those skills.

On the other hand, Mutt is quite the useful companion in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, especially in combat, so having a high Houndmaster skill is extremely beneficial. Also, you'll always want to have a high Stealth level, as the RPG calls for Henry to sneak around numerous times. Getting caught by barkeeps or enemies while crouching is never pleasant, as you either need to reload a save or try to find another way to continue with your objective without sneaking.

And there you have it. While the dialogue choice isn't as impactful as others in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, it's still something to lean on for future reference.

Cabbage Thief in KCD2

While exploring the lands of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you'll encounter many peculiar characters who either want to kill you or need your help. In particular, you may have run into a quest involving a cabbage thief that's caused some trouble. Here's where to find this leafy thief.

How to start the Cabbage Thief quest in KCD2

You can start the Cabbage Thief quest by speaking to Bailiff Thrush in Troskowitz. Since this mission is considered a free-roam objective, there won't be a waypoint for this character. Based on my experience, he tends to roam around this village, so try to look out for his yellowish clothing. You may also greet him during the Bad Blood quest, which will place a marker on his location.

Once you've encountered Baliff Thrush, ask him, "What's new?" and he eventually tells you about the cabbage thief. He'll also direct you to the Grocer, thus beginning the mission.

How to find the Cabbage Thief in KCD2

Locate the Grocer south of Troskowitz to learn more about the cabbage thief's whereabouts. You can use the Semine fast travel point to get here faster.

Next, talk to the Peasant at the Grocer to narrow down the thief's location.

Peasant in KCD2

After speaking to the Peasant, you can go south of the Grocer to follow a trail of cabbages.

Eventually, you'll end up at the Cabbage Cave on the southwest side of the Grocer.

Sauerkraut Pepa, aka the cabbage thief, will be lingering around here. Confront him to see why he's been stealing cabbages.

Should you attack, turn in, or let go of Sauerkraut Pepa in KCD2?

You'll have to decide whether to let Sauerkraut Pepa go, turn him in, or attack him. But before you do that, question him a bit more, and he'll give you a sauerkraut as a gift, triggering a +1 vitality bonus. Once you've gained the item, I find it best to turn in Sauerkraut Pepa to get 789 Groschen. It's pretty challenging to earn money in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, especially in the beginning, so this option is well worth it.

Sauerkraut Pepa choices in KCD2
Screenshot by Destructoid

However, it's still possible to claim the money even after you've eliminated him since the Baliff seems to give you the coins, regardless. But if you want to save yourself from a ruthless killing, simply turn him in to avoid violence altogether. You can also let him go to gain more of his delicious sauerkraut.

Those who decide to turn him can return to the Baliff at Troskowitz and tell him: 'I found the cabbage thief' to get your money. Now, you may be able to afford expensive purchases like a horse or upgraded armor.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Pavlena

Near the beginning of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2's story, you'll meet two important characters, Bozhena and Pavlena, who help nurse Henry and Hans before they travel to Troskowitz. However, shortly after your arrival, you can revisit Bozhena, who reveals Pavlena has gone missing.

Where has Pavlena gone, and what can you do to find her? Figuring this out is part of a side mission, Bad Blood, in which Bozhena asks you to discover her whereabouts. Here's a complete guide on the Bad Blood quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Bad Blood quest walkthrough

You'll start the Bad Blood quest by returning to Bohzena's cabin after your first trip to Troskowitz. While things seem normal initially, she'll reveal that Pavlena has gone missing after traveling to Troskowitz to sell wicker baskets. Although she was supposed to return shortly after, she suddenly disappeared. No one knows what happened.

You can ask Bohzena questions about Pavlena, including whether she's really Bohzena's daughter or if anyone would want to hurt her, leading to some Speech checks that can lower your reputation if you fail them. However, as long as you agree to help Bohzena find Pavlena, you're not required to ask further questions unless you're curious about the situation and want to risk a slight dip in reputation.

Search Pavlena's room for clues

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Pavlena's room
Screenshot by Destructoid

Once you agree to find Pavlena, your main goal is to find her in Troskowitz, with the optional task of searching her room. Her room is on the top floor of the cabin, where you can investigate her bed, wicker baskets, and, most importantly, a felt cap on a stool. Spotting this cap reveals she's potentially seeing someone in Troskowitz, giving you a clue that'll help you later in the quest.

Ask about Pavlena in Troskowitz

Our next destination is Troskowitz, where we need to ask the locals about Pavlena's whereabouts. Many will tell you they only recognize the locals or haven't seen her but will point you to various characters with more information. In particular, NPCs like Scribe Gaibl, Bailiff Thrush, Gerda, and Apothecary Emerich, located in the western parts of town, will all provide tips on where to find her.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Bad Blood NPC map
You have a few options. Screenshot by Destructoid

Regardless of who you choose, everyone will point you to one place: the woodcutters on the east side of Troskowitz. More specifically, they'll mention Roman, a young woodcutter whom you and other townsfolk suspect is on more than friendly terms with Pavlena.

As you head towards the woodcutter's area, you'll almost immediately spot Woodcutter Dushko searching for Roman. He quickly reveals that he saw Pavlena with Roman, prompting you to dig deeper and investigate Roman's house.

You can also try to learn more about Roman or even ask for payment before searching the house using Speech checks. In particular, you can learn about Pavlena being pregnant, which can help you on several occasions throughout this quest. Generally speaking, as long as your stats are level seven or higher and you're nice about it, he'll say yes to most of your questions or comments.

Search Roman's house

Two ways to get into Roman's house are to lockpick the front entrance or use the ladder to sneak inside. Considering there's a second way in, I'd recommend the ladder on the right side of the building. The game will tell you you're entering a private area, but as long as no one is actively hunting you, you'll be good to go either way.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Roman's house during Bad Blood
Screenshot by Destructoid

After entering the house, search each room until you find a kitchen and a small dining area. Investigating the table reveals that Roman and Pavlena recently ate together, giving you enough information to return to Dushko and learn more about their favorite spot down by a stream.

Find the clearing that Dushko mentioned

Now that you've determined where Roman and Pavlena might've gone, it's time to travel south to their rendezvous spot. Arriving here, you'll find multiple food items you can pick up, eat, or sell later, alongside some torn cloth and a bloodied rock you can investigate.

If you've already completed Mutt's quest and reunited with him, you can use him to sniff the blood on the ground to lead you toward Pavlena and Roman. Otherwise, following the blood trail northeast will bring you to Roman. Or, well, what used to be Roman. There's no sign of Pavlena yet, but we're getting closer to uncovering this mystery.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Lover's spot
Screenshot by Destructoid

With this new discovery, head north to find a pig herder searching for his lost pig. Asking him various questions will reveal that this body is, in fact, Roman's, and he was with Pavlena before this unfortunate incident. Hugo, the pig herder, suspects a farmhand named Straw has something to do with it, pointing you directly west toward a nearby farm.

Confronting Straw

Upon arriving at the farm, you'll find Straw standing in a small spot next to the log cabin and a chicken coop. He'll reveal that he was involved and that Pavlena was involved, prompting several high-level Speech checks that have high odds of failing unless you're completing this quest later in your playthrough or have spent some time leveling your Speech and raising your Charisma. An average early-game player is unlikely to succeed most of them.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Straw
Screenshot by Destructoid

That said, if you fail these checks, Straw will start attacking you. Although he's out for blood, he'll quickly yield if you get a few solid hits on him. He'll tell you everything, from visiting the tavern with his farmer, Jakesh, to discussing a revenge plan to scare Pavlena in exchange for dating one of Jakesh's daughters. Roman attempted to defend Pavlena, causing Straw and his brother, Ota, to retaliate. Pavlena's fate is still unknown, but you'll learn that Ota brought her to a gorge south of Zhelejov.

Now that you've heard everything, you can decide what to do with Straw. You can either kill him right there, let him go, or bring him to the Bailiff and let him decide. The choice is entirely up to personal preference.

Find the gorge where Ota is holding Pavlena

As you head south of Troskowitz toward the next quest marker, you'll find several rocky hills and a sleeping dog. If you're skilled in stealth, you can sneak past the dog and climb the ladder. If you're not or fail the attempt, it'll bark at you before attacking you if you get too close to the camp's entrance.

You have two choices: run away and climb up the ladder or kill the dog. This interaction will partially depend on your skill, but it is possible to escape this fight unscathed if you're determined to keep the dog alive.

From here, your choices will significantly impact how the Bad Blood quest ends. Prepare yourself, as each dialogue option and action from here onward can

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Bad Blood quest endings

After climbing the ladder, you'll discover Ota holding Pavlena at knife point, threatening to kill her if you get too close. Depending on what you do at this point, you can either save Pavlena's life or cause Ota to kill her. It is very easy to provoke Ota enough to kill Pavlena and attack you if you make him angry or threaten him. If you want her to survive, stay peaceful and avoid provoking him.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Pavlena and Ota

Pavlena dies ending

Generally speaking, any interaction with Ota that angers or scares him will cause him to kill off Pavlena. Similarly, if you approach him quickly without trying to negotiate, he'll kill her and attack you, prompting you to enter another fight. You must negotiate with Ota and cooperate if you want to save Pavlena.

If Pavlena dies at any point during your interaction with Ota, you'll have to deliver the news to Bohzena. She'll, understandably, be upset about the situation. Depending on your dialogue choices from here, you can sympathize with Bozhena or Jakesh to influence your reputation with here or even end the quest outright. She can also ask you to get revenge by killing Jakesh. It's entirely up to you if you accept or try to find other alternatives.

Pavlena lives ending

At any point in this dialogue with Ota, if you threaten him, anger him in any way, or fail certain Speech checks. Your safest bet is to pick the following options:

  • My name is Henry.
  • Bohzena sent me.
  • Why are you doing this?
  • Let her go, and I'll let you go.
  • I'll convince Pavlena to keep quiet.

The last check requires high enough Charisma to persuade him that you and Pavlena will stay quiet. While other options, such as "I'll put in a good word for you with His Lordship", can also work if you have a higher Impression than Persuasion or Intimidation, these options will often work for you.

If you let Straw go during your confrontation with him, you can tell Ota about it, making convincing him to let Pavlena go slightly easier. Despite this, it's still pretty easy to pass these checks and save her.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Ota dialogue
Screenshot by Destructoid

Once you convince Ota to let Pavlena go, she'll immediately start attacking him, killing him. You can talk to her about it and ask questions, influencing your reputation with her, before bringing her back home.

The two of you will explain the situation to Bohzena, prompting her to ask you to kill Jakesh, much like the previous ending. Like before, you can accept, refuse, or persuade her to reconcile with Jakesh. This choice entirely depends on your personal preference and will either lead to you killing Jakesh or getting the two to reconcile.

Killing Jakesh ending

If you fail the Speech check to resolve Bohzena and Jakesh's situation, you can get a quick kill on him. He'll usually stay at his farmhouse in Troskowitz or pray at his son's grave, where you can get the kill without arousing suspicion by going at night and sneaking up behind him or into his home. Watch out if he's outside, as he can run away and alert the guards if you don't eliminate him quickly enough. Getting the kill and returning to Bohzena will instantly wrap up the Bad Blood quest.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Jakesh
Screenshot by Destructoid

Reconcile Bohzena and Jakesh ending

If you want to avoid death in this quest, you can try to resolve the conflict between Jakesh and Bohzena. Even if you fail the check with Bohzena originally, you can still talk to Jakesh to learn more about the situation, including what happened to his son and his involvement (or lack of) with Straw and Ota's actions.

From here, you have the following options to try out:

  • Pavlena is pregnant.
  • Indirect guilt is still guilt. (Persuasion)
  • Revenge never ends well. (Impression)
  • If you don't make amends, I'll kill you. (Intimidation)
  • I won't try to convince you.

If you know of Pavlena's pregnancy, choosing this will resolve the conflict, with Jakesh giving you 150 Groschen. Otherwise, you can try to convince him through one of the three dialogue options, but these require fairly high Speech stats and can easily fail. Failing any of these will require you to kill him to complete the quest.

Regardless of whether you kill him or cause the two to settle their conflict, dealing with Jakesh will complete the Bad Blood quest, rewarding you with money, a change in reputation depending on your dialogue choices throughout the quest, and skill training from Pavlena.

Path of Exile 2: an isometric view of a magic-based character shooting blue lightning at enemies.

In Path of Exile 2, damage conversion is a crucial mechanic that allows players to modify their skills' damage types, enhancing their effectiveness in different builds. With multiple damage types in the game, understanding how to convert one into another can lead to powerful build optimizations, which you may find quite useful.

How Path of Exile 2 Damage Conversion Works

Whether you're using passive skill nodes, unique items, or support gems, knowing how to manipulate damage types can drastically change how your skills function. Most Skills in Path of Exile 2 deal multiple of them at once, influenced by numerous in-game mechanics. Most abilities do not deal a single damage type; instead, they often convert a large percentage of Physical damage into an elemental type while retaining some of their original Physical damage. This is inherently tied to the skills.

Freezing Salvo in Path of Exile 2
Screenshot by Destructoid

For example, Freezing Salvo converts a portion of its Physical damage into Cold damage, with the remainder staying Physical. Because of this, the skill benefits most from Cold and Physical damage modifiers while still interacting with other elemental damage bonuses. If you have a ring that gives you added Fire damage, Freezing Salvo will deal a small portion of Fire Damage because it is not a pure element. The gains from this will be small, however, because the skill mostly does Cold damage, and any +DMG type that doesn't match it will not benefit or improve the DMG type.

Widowhail Unique Bow in Path of Exile 2
Screenshot by Destructoid

Thanks to the unique mechanics of the Widowhail Unique bow, you can forcefully convert a majority of a damage type into a different one based on the most significant damage on your equipped quiver. This allowed me to turn Freezing Salvo into a skill that does mostly Fire Damage, and this is just one type of Damage Conversation available to you in Path of Exile 2.

Avatar of Fire in Path of Exile 2
Screenshot by Destructoid

Damage types can be converted into others using specific items, passive nodes, and support gems. Using Freezing Salvo as the example again, the Cold damage it deals can be converted into purely Fire damage using the Avatar of Fire capstone node in the passive skill tree. With Avatar of Fire, Freezing Salvo no longer deals any Cold damage or applies Freeze/Chill effects. Instead, it only deals Fire damage and gains the ability to apply Burn.

Avatar of Fire prevents you from dealing any type of damage that isn't Fire, thus, the above-mentioned methods of boosting damage or converting damage will not functionally work with the node active. The only way to increase your damage would be to purely focus on boosting Fire Damage. Using +Cold Damage items or skill nodes would have no benefit despite Freezing Salvo being tagged a Cold damage skill.

Flameblast Pure Elemental Fire in Path of Exile 2
Screenshot by Destructoid

This is also the case with purely elemental skills, such as Flame Blast. These do not benefit from any damage type other than their default element. However, if you convert Flame Blast's Fire damage to another type, such as Cold, by using a unique item, it will no longer receive any benefits from Fire damage bonuses. This is even though Flame Blast was originally a Fire damage skill.

All Damage Conversion Methods in Path of Exile 2

Painter's Servant Unique Gloves in Path of Exile 2
Screenshot by Destructoid

Path of Exile 2 is a massively complex game even without throwing Damage Conversion into the mix. With it there, though, you must actively consider when and how you want to convert damage into another type without suffering the potential penalties involved. Here are all the ways you can accomplish this goal.

  • Using Unique Items - Unique items like Painter's Servant gloves convert all elemental damage into all three elemental damage types at the cost of potentially lowering the effectiveness of nearly pure elemental skills.
  • Using Support Gems - While not a direct conversion, Support Gems like Chaos Infusion, reduce the amount of damage non-Chaos damage skills do to gain extra damage as Chaos damage. Depending on how your build works, this can be a huge benefit or a massive curse.
  • Passive Tree Nodes - The capstone node, Avatar of Fire, converts all of your damage into Fire at the cost of some overall damage.

Damage Conversion Takeaways

Gas Arrow Fire Infusion in Path of Exile 2
Screenshot by Destructoid

Ultimately, Damage Conversion is an optional but powerful tool for your build. Some builds may not require it at all, so ensure it aligns with your playstyle and overall build strategy before committing. The key takeaways you must understand are the following:

  • Damage conversion allows skills to change their base damage type, altering their effects and interactions with other mechanics and allowing for some truly unique setups.
  • Most abilities are not purely one damage type, meaning they can benefit from multiple types of damage bonuses.
  • Pure Elemental skills only benefit from their respective elemental damage type unless converted.
  • Path of Exile 2 features a different approach to damage conversion compared to Path of Exile 1, making it a key mechanic to understand for optimizing builds that intend to use it.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Food Poisoning

Having the Food Poisoning debuff in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is quite a headache, slowly draining your health until you either find a cure or inevitably die. Here is how to cure Food Poisoning in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 as well as how to prevent it.

How to cure Food Poisoning in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

How to cure Food Poisoning

You can cure Food Poisoning by consuming a Digestive Potion. This one-time-use consumable will cure Food Poisoning entirely, decrease your Nourishment by 20, and increase your Vitality stat by one for 10 minutes. Consuming the Digestive Potion will immediately remove the Food Poisoning debuff, so the faster you get one in you, the less damage Food Poisoning will do.

There are several ways to obtain a Digestive Potion. If you have been leveling your Alchemy, you can eventually learn to brew your own Digestive Potion at an Alchemy Bench. However, until you do, you can also purchase them from an Apothecary. The standard going rate for a Digestive Potion is about 22 Groschen.

The only other way to remove or cure Food Poisoning is to simply let it run its course, which takes about five minutes. Unfortunately, you'll be losing health frequently during that time. This means you'll need to have ways to keep restoring your health, like consuming multiple Health Potions, until eventually the Food Poisoning expires.

How to prevent Food Poisoning

You get the Food Poisoning debuff by eating food that is no longer fresh in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. if you select any consumable item in your inventory, you'll see that it has a Freshness rating ranging 0%-100%. The higher the Freshness, the better the food will satiate your appetite. If the food has reached a Freshness of 0%, this means you will receive Food Poisoning when eating it.

As such, you should never consume food that has expired and has a Freshness rating of 0%. Make sure you're always getting new and fresh food, and keep in mind that some foods will expire much faster. A good rule of thumb is to only buy or gather food that will last you for a day or so in game, as past that, it's much more likely the food will have expired and no longer be fresh.

Pyro Fatui enemy from Genshin Impact

Balachko is a special Pyro Fatui Agent in the Natlan region of Genshin Impact. As a Local Legend, Balachko is a miniboss with greatly increased health and damage compared to most overworld enemies. Three achievements are associated with defeating this shady figure, so let's get to work.

Where to find Local Legend Balachko

Balachko can be found near the People of the Springs, in the cave to the left of the Sanctum of Rainbow Spirits domain. There are a few tribal enemies in a camp. Defeat all the enemies to clear the way and unlock a Precious Chest. Balachko is behind a locked gate that requires two Keys to Somewhere to open.

Where to find the Keys to Somewhere

The first Key to Somewhere can be found in a cage at the far end of the cave. The second Key is at the end of a rope dangling from the ceiling above the Precious Chest. You can climb on the chest or some nearby boxes to reach it or jump up with a tall character. Once you have both keys, activate the switch to open the gate. Balachko awaits in a small arena behind the gate.

Beating Local Legend Balachko: which clone is the real one?

Prepare to fight Balachko by bringing at least one Hydro character. You may also want to cook some food to grant yourself buffs. Local Legends are no joke; Balachko can down you in one hit if you're not careful, and he has a massive health pool. Shielders like Zhongli and Diona can help prevent you from being one-shot. If you're having trouble beating Balachko in your world, see if you can join someone else at a lower World Level. Since overworld enemies scale to the host's World Level, you might have an easier time in co-op.

As a Pyro Fatui Agent, Balachko has a nasty habit of going invisible and summoning shadowlike clones of himself. Periodically, he will uncloak himself and attack you in tandem with his clones. Deal damage when you can, and wait for him to summon a ring of clones around himself. These clones will throw blades at you. Only the real Balachko throws a red Pyro blade. The clones throw white Physical blades. Look for the clone that launches a Pyro blade and hit it with Hydro attacks to break through Balachko's disguise.

Zhongli from Genshin Impact fights Local Legend Balachko's clones
Screenshot by Destructoid

Once you've broken Balachko's shield, he'll be stunned for a while and take increased damage. Take this opportunity to deal as much damage as possible. You'll only have a few seconds – enough for one team rotation. After he recovers, repeat the previous steps to stun him again.

How to get all achievements for Local Legend Balachko

Genshin Impact features three achievements associated with Balachko. They must be done one at a time; you can't do multiple in one fight. Once defeated, Balachko respawns daily, so these achievements will take a minimum of three days to complete. If you don't want to wait for him to respawn, see if you can tackle him in another player's world.

Balachko Achievement 1

Balachko Achievement 1 is simply to defeat him. Refer to the steps above and do whatever you need to do to win the fight.

Balachko Achievement 2

Balachko Achievement 2 requires you to destroy only the real Balachko during the ring-of-clones phase. Look for the clone that throws a Pyro-infused blade and hit it with Hydro attacks. Single-target Hydro appliers like Yelan or Xingqiu are helpful, since AoE attacks risk hitting other clones in the area. Hitting a clone once or twice is fine as long as they are not destroyed. After meeting this requirement, defeat Balachko to get the achievement.

Balachko Achievement 3

Balachko Achievement 3 requires you to destroy three fake clones during one phase. I recommend bringing multiple Hydro characters to apply as much Hydro as fast as you can. I got this achievement using Xingqiu and Kokomi. Look for the clones throwing white Physical blades and hit them with Hydro attacks as quickly as possible. You need to take down three clones during a single phase. After taking down three clones, focus on the real Balachko. You might need to wait for the next ring-of-clones phase, where you can just target the actual boss. Defeat him to get the achievement.

Seasonal visitors in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Once you've started to prepare and repair the Visitor Cabins in Hello Kitty Island adventure, you'll open up a world of possibilities when it comes to additional Sanrio characters who can come along for a vacation day.

Getting visitors to your island is often as simple as decorating a Cabin in a certain way, but some require more forethought. Milk, for instance, requires you to have befriended several other rare visitors, while other visitors will only appear at certain times.

It's worth trying to get as many visitors to your island as possible, even if it means switching out the decor of each cabin between months, because each visitor will reward you with certain items in return for talking to them. On top of this, some visitors have the potential to unlock additional quests when they become five-star permanent residents, so befriending them all is worthwhile.

The most challenging of the time-fixed visitors are those who only visit during certain real-life seasons. Here are all of the season-locked visitors in Hello Kitty Island Adventure and how to lure them into coming to visit.

What are the seasons in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

The seasons in Island Adventure follow the same rough dates as those in real life, but it can be hard to keep track of when each season is set to arrive or change. To make this easier, here's where each month falls in terms of seasons:

Season Months
Spring March
April
May
Summer June
July
August
Fall September
October
November
Winter December
January
February

Spring visitors in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

During the Spring season, there is only one island visitor who is specific to Spring and they will show up as long as you've met their other requirements..

Macaron

Macaron is the love interest of Pompompurin, and she can pay a visit to your island at any time during Spring. If you talk to Macaron during a visit, she will give you a Pink Clouds Ice Cream

Here are the requirements for attracting Macaron as a visitor:

  • Cabin must be placed in Gemstone Mountain to be close to Pompompurin
  • Cabin must be decorated with five Hugs & Hearts items

    • Hugs & Hearts items can be obtained during the Hugs & Hearts event, which takes place during February each year

  • A Sakura Pudding must be placed inside the Cabin

Macaron is required as a five-star permanent resident if you want to unlock the following quests:

  • "Sweets for the Sweetest"

Spring and Fall visitors in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Additionally during spring, but also during the Fall, there is one other Sanrio character who will make a weekly appearance.

Nuts

Once a week during Spring and Fall, Nuts will make an appearance. Nuts is Cinnamoroll's friend and brother to Cappuccino and Coco. When you talk to Nuts during a visit, he will give you a Coconut

Here's everything you need to do if you want Nuts to visit:

  • Cabin must have three pieces of Kawaii furniture
  • The following items must be present in the Cabin:

    • Coconut
    • Toasted Almond

You'll need to befriend Nuts (and his brother Coco) if you want to unlock the following quests:

  • "Cinna-Run-Around"
  • "Cafe Cinnamon Unite"
  • "Time for Milk"

Summer and Winter visitors in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Unlike the other seasons, no visitors are specific to either Summer or Winter. Both seasons share the same three possible visitors, who will appear if you've kitted out a Cabin with their specified desires.

Pam

Pam is a penguin and Tuxedosam's younger brother. He also has another brother called Tam, who we'll get to in just a second. Pam will reward you with Fabric if you talk to him during a visit. He can pay a visit at any time during Summer or Winter, as long as you've met the requirements.

Speaking of which, here's all of the requirements you need to meet if you want Sam to visit:

  • Cabin must be in Seaside Resort or Cozy Islands to be close to Tuxedosam
  • Cabin must be decorated with five pieces of Fwish furniture
  • Cabin must have a Clothing Stand with one piece of clothing on display
  • Cabin must have two aquariums, including fish within

Tam

Tuxedosam and Pam's other brother, Pam, can also pay a visit at any time during Summer or Winter. Like Pam, talking to Tam during a visit will reward you with a swatch of Fabric. His requirements are similar to Pam's, but he does have some specific requests.

Here's how to lure Tam as a visitor:

  • Cabin must be in Seaside Resort or Cozy Islands to be close to Tuxedosam
  • Cabin must have one piece of Summer's End furniture

    • Summer's End furniture can be obtained through the Sunshine Celebration event, which takes place towards the end of Summer each year

  • Must have five pieces of furniture displayed on Clothing Stands

    • You'll need five clothing stands to meet this requirement

Coco

Unlike either Pam or Tam, Coco will only visit once a week during Summer and Winter. He's a friend of Cinnamoroll and a brother of Cappuccino and Nuts. As with Nuts, Coco will give you a Coconut if you talk to them during a visit.

To attract Coco as a visitor, you'll need to meet the following requirements:

  • Cabin must have three bookshelves of any type
  • Cabin must contain at least one of each of the following items:

    • Coconut
    • Chocolate Coin

Coco is needed as a five-star permanent resident if you want to unlock the following quests:

  • "Cinna-Run-Around"
  • "Cafe Cinnamon Unite"
  • "Time for Milk"

Fall visitors in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Fall features the most specific seasonal visitors, with three Sanrio characters who can show up during the season. Each of them has their own requests, and two of them are (in my opinion) the cutest visitors of all.

Baku

Baku is Kuromi's best friend who can visit at any time during the Fall. He can fly and sniff out dreams, and talking to him during a visit, he will reward you with a Pumpkin Spice Soda.

Here's what you'll need to do if you want Baku to visit:

  • Cabin must be in Spooky Swamp to be near Kuromi
  • Cabin must be decorated with five Spooky Celebration items

    • Spooky Celebration items can be obtained through the Spooky Celebration event, which is held during October each year

Berry

I'm just going to say it: Berry (and his best friend Cherry) are adorable little demons, and I'm (im)patiently waiting for Fall so that I can befriend them. With that said, Berry will visit every two weeks during the Fall, and talking to him while he's there will reward you with a Jack-O-Lantern

Here's how to get Berry as a visitor in Island Adventure:

  • Cabin must have three items with the "Joke" tag
  • Cabin must have five items with the "Spooky" tag
  • Cabin must have two items with the "Sweet" tag

Cherry

If you like cute little demonic creatures, then Berry's best friend Cherry is also a possible visitor during the Fall. She will also visit every two weeks during the fall, with her visits happening on alternate weekends to Berry. When you talk to Cherry during a visit, she will give you Pink Clouds Ice Cream

If you want Cherry to come along, you'll need to meet the following requirements:

  • Cabin must have three items with the "Fancy" tag
  • Cabin must have five items with the "Spooky" tag
  • Cabin must have two items with the "Pink" tag

EA FC 25 Dumornay Future Stars SBC solutions

The Melchie Dumornay Future Stars SBC is now live in EA FC 25, and you can complete the challenge to pick between two special items

Dumornay is the latest entrant to the Future Stars promo, and you can choose between two versions. Both cards might look similar, but there are noticeable differences. Let's take a look at how you can complete the challenge, and which version you should pick for your team.

EA FC 25 Melchie Dumornay Future Stars SBC tasks

The Melchie Dumornay Future Stars SBC has two tasks, and here are the requirements.

Task 1 - 84-Rated Squad

  • Min. Team Rating: 84

Task 2 - 85-Rated Squad

  • Min. Team Rating: 85

EA FC 25 Melchie Dumornay Future Stars SBC solutions

Here's a set of solution you can use to complete the full SBC in EA FC 25.

Task 1 - 84-Rated Squad

  • Any 10 84-rted items
  • Any 1 83-rated item

Task 2 - 85-Rated Squad

  • Koopmeiners 83
  • Joao Cancelo 86
  • Fishlock 83
  • Palmer 85
  • Gwinn 83
  • Claudia Pina 83
  • Little 86
  • Spitse 83
  • Gabriel 86
  • Locatelli 83
  • Xhaka 86

The choice here is simple: go with the one with the Press Proven+ playstyle. Since the other item has Relentless+, we can safely ignore it. The 89-rated Striker item can also operate as a CM, and she has 3 roles+. The card also features Finesse Shot, Power Shot, Technical, Incisive Pass, and Quick Step.

While the price of the SBC is pretty low, the cards on offer could have better. They don't have 2 playstyle+, and most players will already have better cards in their Ultimate Team squads.

Watering Can in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

There are many useful tools and equipment to unlock and use in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, and all of them are trapped behind friendship leveling and quests. The Watering Can is a hugely useful tool that takes considerable effort to unlock.

If you've been wandering around Friendship Island and wondering what those little pink closed flowers on the floor are, don't worry; you're not alone. Those flowers only become meaningful once you've unlocked the Watering Can, which is not an easy task.

How to unlock the Watering Can in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

If you want a Watering Can, you'll need to focus on leveling up your friendship with My Melody. She's the key to the Watering Can and the Pickaxe, which comes first. In short, she's a very useful friend.

To level up My Melody, you should focus on giving her gifts daily and make the most of Friendship Bouquets and Friendship Blossoms to give her more than the standard three gifts per day. Unfortunately, her two- and three-heart gift preferences are difficult to get.

The best gift to give My Melody is a Pink Latte, which is a two-heart gift and becomes available to make as soon as you've unlocked the Espresso Machine at the Comedy Club through Hangyodon. You can make it using either of the following recipes:

  • 1 Candlenut + 1 Strawberry
  • 1 Candlenut + 1 Sakura

Either way, once you've successfully dragged My Melody's friendship level to 14, you can complete her quest, "Crystal Vay-Cay." When you've completed that, another quest called "Flower Power" will become available from My Melody, which will eventually reward you with the Crafting Plans to make a Watering Can.

To make a Watering Can, you'll need the following resources:

  • 2 Mechanisms

    • Crafted using three Gizmos, which are the return gift from Chococat

  • 5 Ingots

    • Crafted using 3 Iron, which can be found all around Mount Hothead and Crystal Caves

How to use the Watering Can in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Once you've actually managed to obtain a Watering Can, you'll find it very useful. Like the Pickaxe, it's not a selectable tool and instead becomes available to use as soon as you get close enough to anything that needs watering.

Here are all the ways to use your Watering Can once you've got it:

  • Gift Flowers

    • Little pink closed buds found in all regions. When watered, these open up to give items, recipes, or Crafting Plans.

  • Flowers

    • Although watering flowers is not strictly needed for them to grow, it does reduce their growth time by one day each time they're watered.

  • Rainfall Flowers

    • After completing Chococat's "Rain or Shine" quest, you'll be able to water blue Rainfall Flowers that will produce one Raindrop each. These flowers appear in only some areas and only when it's raining.

  • Merry Meadow

    • After unlocking Merry Meadow, you'll need to plant and cultivate four Giant Seeds, which will eventually turn into Beanstalks and unlock more of the new area. These need watering every day for three days before they fully grow.

Wearing the Brunswick armor

As an esteemed pre-orderer of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you're in for a treat - the exclusive Lion's Crest bonus quest. This mission involves various challenges, from solving a riddle to locating hidden armor. We'll show you how to complete this quest, earning you the legendary Lion's Crest.

How to start Lion's Crest bonus quest in KCD2

You can start the Lion's Crest bonus quest after you've completed the tutorial phase in Troskowitz. Once you're allowed to free roam, open your map to locate the purple-colored quill icon for the mission.

The Lion's Crest quest start
Screenshot by Destructoid

Upon reaching the quest waypoint, you'll meet Scribe Gailbl inside the building. He'll regale you with the legends of the Brunswick armor and a riddle on how to find it. After talking to him, he'll reward you with a Brunswick Poleaxe Sketch. This sketch, requiring one fastening material, three iron, and one Frankfurt steel, is not essential for the mission, but it's a worthy addition to your arsenal if you're in need of a new weapon.

Before embarking on your adventure, ensure you're well-equipped. Acquire a Spade from a merchant or as loot - it's a crucial tool for unearthing treasure later on. Additionally, having a trusty horse by your side will significantly ease your travels, making your journey more enjoyable and efficient.

How to find Lion's Crest in KCD2

The Lion's Crest bonus quest begins with the first riddle, followed by various map locations. Let's break them all down to get you the exclusive Lion's Crest in KCD2.

The lengthy riddle Scribe gives you delves into various points of interest, like the hall of the forest kings and mysterious gates. Using these hints will lead you to large rocks above Trosky Castle (top-right corner of the map).

You should see a light illuminating from a cross, which will be right above the treasure. Use the spade to dig underneath, and you'll gain these items:

  • Brunswick's dagger
  • Brunswick's gauntlet
  • Fragments from the Bible
  • Groschen

Brunswick's armor first map location

You'll receive a set of two maps from the Chapel in the Rocks dig site. Fortunately, the first one isn't too far, located to the left of Trosky Castle near a Wolf hunting spot.

Come prepared for a fight while approaching the Wolf hunting spot. Mutt can help you here if you need an extra hand. But, if you haven't found him yet, you can get rid of them by yourself. Wait for one of them to attack you and try to block them for the parry, allowing you to strike them down. However, it's crucial to keep track of the other ones around you to avoid any surprise attacks. Just don't go up too close to them so you can see where the others are. Once they are dealt with, go between two giant trees.

After finding the treasures of the first two maps, you'll receive two additional maps for the next batch of Brunswick's armor. If you're still at the second map location, go down south to Zhelejov Wagoners' Inn (to the left of Tachov). Travel up a hill to spot a cross and skeleton beside a tree. Interact with the skeleton to claim the Knight's Sword. Then, open the bag to the right of it to claim Brunswick's brigandine.

The fourth and final Brunswick armor location will be above Bozhena, the nice old lady who helps you in the story's beginning. Travel up the hill to uncover a Treasure Hunters' Camp, where you will encounter a few enemies. You can take them out or wait until nighttime to sneak over to the cross.

Merry Meadow in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

The map in Hello Kitty Island Adventure is absolutely massive, filled with nooks and crannies to explore that hold secrets waiting to be discovered. The initial map is expansive enough, but there are also new areas to unlock as you progress.

Merry Meadow is one of these new areas, which can only be unlocked as you progress into the mid-game stages. It's filled with secrets, new resources, and a lot of plots where you will eventually be able to plant and breed flowers. If you want to know how to find this lush, floral area and unlock its full potential, keep reading.

How to unlock Merry Meadow in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Pompompurin in Hello Kitty Island Adventure
Screenshot by Destructoid

All quests in Island Adventure are hidden behind friendship levels and connected to multiple different characters. Unlocking Merry Meadow is no different, and it will only be possible once you've completed the following steps:

  • Complete the "Power Up the Gate" quest
  • Reach friendship level 4 with Pompompurin
  • Complete the "Dessert-ed Boat" quest
  • Reach friendship level 11 with My Melody
  • Complete the "Revive the Oasis" quest

Once you've done all that, you'll need to wait one real-life day after completing the "Revive the Oasis" quest. When you enter Island Adventure the next day, you'll have a new quest available to complete with Pompompurin called "Curious Caverns."

He's noticed that the waterfall opened up in the previous "Revive the Oasis" quest has knocked some stones loose, and he wants them removed as they're unstable. There is only a single rock to remove using your Pickaxe, in the location marked below:

Location of the rock in "Curious Caverns" in Hello Kitty Island Adventure
Screenshot by Destructoid

Once this rock is removed, you'll gain access to Merry Meadow. Here, you'll find a few new resources and collectibles:

Resources Critters Fish
Sakura Mossling Geranium Gar
Pollen Fluff Blossom Bounder Petalscale
Seeds Catercreeper Meadow Stripe
Worm Tails Flowerfly Half-Dipped Dace
Hearthling Floral Flyer
Cherryfin
Blue Grin
Flurry Flyer (only during Snow)

How to open up all of Merry Meadow in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Where to grow your Beanstalks in Merry Meadow in Hello Kitty Island Adventure
Screenshot by Destructoid

To begin with, you'll only have access to the small lowest section of Merry Meadow. To gain access to the higher areas, including the Greenhouse on the Overlook, you'll need to find and plant Giant Seeds in the large patches of dirt located close to cliff faces (pictured above).

You'll then need to water these Giant Seeds over three real-life days, which requires a Watering Can. To get one, you'll need to reach level 14 friendship with My Melody and complete her "Crystal Vay-Cay" quest.

Once you've grown the first Giant Seeds into a Beanstalk, you can climb it to reach the next level of Merry Meadow. Up here, there'll be another seed to find and plant, beginning the three-day cycle over again. There are a total of four Giant Seeds to find and cultivate, meaning that the process of unlocking Merry Meadow in its entirety will take 12 days.

Unlocking the entirety of Merry Meadow will unlock the following features:

  • Wish me mell (a new character who resides in Merry Meadow)
  • Critter Corral
  • Greenhouse
  • Hidden exits that lead to different areas of Friendship Island

Helldivers 2 patch shovel bile titan bug hole

Arrowhead Games has delivered the first big patch for Helldivers 2, which reintroduces emoting while flying, addresses the Dog Breath stratagem, and fixes bugs. The patch also secretly added new undocumented items to Helldivers 2, such as a shovel and a bug hole for Bile Titan spawns.

Helldivers 2 patch 01.002.101 brings a host of changes to the game. It increases the amount of starting and spare magazines by one, lets you toss grenades and stratagems from the FRV, and introduces several fixes to the maligned "Guard Dog" Dog Breath stratagem. Arrowhead announced in the patch notes that it's leaving the Siege Ready Armor Passive bug alone, and will merely change the description for it later.

You can check out the entire patch notes for more, but there are some items the update adds that didn't make the list.

Helldivers 2 players are digging the new shovel, but maybe not the Bile Titan bug holes

Following the patch, Helldivers 2 now includes what appears to be a folding shovel you can locate, equip, and definitely use as a weapon. But what else can it do? Why, dig holes, of course! The shovel in Helldivers 2 can be used to unearth buried samples. You can also just dig a hole if the need strikes you. At least one clever diver is already using the shovel to make their own defensive position. Trench warfare has arrived to Helldivers 2.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/comments/1ihfc7e/rock_and_stone/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

The patch also added bug holes from which Bile Titans can spawn. As shared by Reddit user KekKeanuReddit100, the new bug holes are massive, large enough for a mighty Bile Titan to crawl out from. Closing them off should be the number one priority for any diver not keen to get stomped on by several freshly spawned titans.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/comments/1ihgdnd/new_bughole_type_that_bile_titans_come_out_of/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Helldivers 2 certainly isn't new to undocumented patch notes. Arrowhead has surprised players before by shadow-dropping things like flying Terminids and drivable Exosuits before the latter became available as a stratagem. Arrowhead likely won't stop with the latest patch, and there may be even more to discover. If you're keen on helping, there hasn't been a better time to grab a shovel and start digging.

Monster Hunter Wilds snippet

We've known for some time now that Capcom's next flagship release, Monster Hunter: Wilds, may be a pain in the butt to run. The previous beta wasn't performant at all, and though Capcom has performed some optimizations since the new set of hardware requirements doesn't give me much hope.

I haven't been hiding my annoyance at how hard to run Capcom's more recent RPGs have been, and so I was hoping that the team would manage to do some black magic to make Monster Hunter: Wilds easier to run. Thing is, it doesn't seem like Capcom's been able to do much in this respect after all, because the new set of system requirements is a real disappointment. The bottom line is that we should generally expect it to run more or less the same as Dragon's Dogma 2 did. Poorly, in other words.

https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1ii0jcf/monster_hunter_wilds_new_updated_pc_system/#lightbox

Expect to have to use Frame-Gen to get 60 FPS in Monster Hunter: Wilds

Don't get me wrong, the "Recommended" set of PC system requirements for Monster Hunter: Wilds has been reduced by a smidge. Targeting the "Medium" settings preset at 1080P with a goal of maintaining 60 FPS, Capcom now recommends the RX 6600 or the RTX 2060 Super graphics cards (as opposed to the previous requirements' RX 6700XT and 2070 Super GPUs). Solid, right? The problem is that this 60 FPS target is still relying on some manner of frame-gen to actually reach the cap.

I've previously explained why relying on frame generation is a bad, bad time if you're even remotely sensitive to input latency, and Capcom just doesn't understand how frame-gen is supposed to be used in the first place. Broadly, even Nvidia recommends for its own branded, AI-driven DLFG to be used when you already have at least a baseline of 60 native FPS. Otherwise, you're just inviting extreme input latency, and games feel slow and sluggish. To say nothing of the extreme artifacting you're bound to get at such low frame rates.

And heck, if you take a gander at the "Ultra" settings preset for Monster Hunter: Wilds, we see the same exact problem pop up again. To run the game at an upscaled 4K resolution with a 60 FPS target, you'll still want to rely on frame generation to even reach the target in the first place. To accomplish this, Capcom recommends the RTX 4070Ti Super or the RX 7800 XT or higher, and it strikes me as quite ridiculous that these GPUs cannot get a reasonable frame rate without resorting to "fake" frames.

It's a mess, frankly, and this is precisely why AI-generated frames are getting a bad rep. All in all, then, I'm not happy at all with what Capcom is doing here, and if you're hoping for things to get better on launch day, I recommend taking a gander at what kind of performance people with RTX 5090s are getting. Heck, the Steam Deck can only reasonably run Monster Hunter Wilds at a striking 213x132 rendering resolution. I know it's a low-spec device, but good grief. So, in summary, I hope you've got a great rig, because Monster Hunter: Wilds sure does seem like a pain to run.

A drawing showing Geralt from The Witcher and Henry from Kingdom Come: Deliverance shaking hands.

After a few years of waiting, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 dropped, and it seems to be doing pretty well for itself. In the midst of thousands of players stepping back into the boots of Henry, developer Warhorse Studios has been getting praise from one of the industry's biggest names.

In a recent post on X, CD Projekt Red posted to its Witcher account to wish congratulations on the release of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The heartfelt message also wishes for your blade to "always be sharp," and is accompanied by a friendly image of Geralt of Rivia embracing young Henry in what I can only describe as something the cool kids may refer to as some sort of "bromance." Correct me if I'm wrong, obviously.

Warhorse itself posted a response under this post, thanking CDPR for the kudos, adding that the team was "raising a glass to you now."

Kingdom Come: Johnny Silverhand edition

Interpret it as some sort of corporate publicity thing if you will, but it is quite nice to see some of gaming's biggest studios giving props when new titles come out. It probably helps that The Witcher and Kingdom Come series both have similar vibes and aesthetics. Watch out for a mod that plops Geralt right into the heart of Bohemia [citation needed].

As mentioned above, Deliverance 2 has been doing pretty well within the last 24 hours. According to recent data from SteamDB – which tracks all things related to Steam – the game peaked at nearly 160,000 players since yesterday. At the time of writing, about 130,000 Henries (plural) are adventuring.

By the way, if it's been a while since you played the original or you're completely new to the series (as I am), the studio very handily put out of Story Recap video recently. That should bring you up to speed before you go diving straight into Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

An official press kit screenshot of a capstone Hive boss from Destiny 2: Heresy.

Having been both bitten and burned by Destiny 2 in the past, I'm not one to judge a seasonal content drop based on my first impressions with it. That said, I have to admit that the new Nether activity feels awesome, and most of the community seems to agree.

There have been hints and murmurs about the potential quality of Destiny 2: Malice, granted. I very nearly fell off the Destiny ride myself a little while back: a decision that was only supported by the fact that Destiny 2: Revenant wasn't all that good. Thankfully, Malice is kicking things off with a bang, and Nether is currently the rather excellent capstone to the whole thing. In the broadest sense possible, The Nether is a kind of a mash-up between the Menagerie and The Coil, with a tiny bit of Onslaught thrown in for good measure. Exciting? Oh, you bet.

Bungie did a good job with Destiny 2: Heresy's Metroidvania Nether activity

While Bungie might've dabbled in Roguelite gameplay mechanics with prior seasonal releases, The Nether takes this concept about as far as Destiny 2 ever did. First things first, the fact that we get to explore the Dreadnaught once again is exciting in its own right, but The Nether combines the regular Patrol gameplay loop with features previously explored in Deep Dive and The Coil activities. The end result is an admittedly punishing, but satisfying and rewarding showcase of just how good Destiny 2 activities actually can be.

Playing my first few runs of The Nether, I was surprised with how much I enjoyed the darned thing, despite the fact that it's quite obtuse in some key ways. Even more surprising, however, was the fact that my experience wasn't a fluke: the Destiny 2 Reddit community seems to adore Nether so far, citing its excellent reward structure and an exciting gameplay loop. That's high praise, alright.

The big question, though, is whether The Nether will remain a high-point of Destiny 2: Heresy as we proceed deeper into the season. Regardless of how good it might be, a single activity is rarely enough to carry a whole seasonal release on its back, and Bungie's Final Shape offerings haven't been all that good so far if we're being honest.

Historically, the Destiny community has also been rather susceptible to enjoying honey-moon phases as Bungie rolls out new content. I'm not saying we'll all suddenly being to feel like The Nether sucks, mind, but I do think Heresy will need to show that it's got what it takes in other areas, too. As for how everything else, other than The Nether might pan out, It's decent stuff so far but it's still way too early to tell. A good showing for now, though, so kudos to Bungie this time around.
