Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition continues to plow on over five years on from its launch, still flying the flag for the classic 1999 strategy game. We know that another new DLC is on its way soon, and World's Edge has just revealed that it'll introduce five - yes, five - new civilizations. However, before it arrives, there's a huge new update to come which is billed to be one of the most significant in AoE 2 history. Because of its size and importance, World's Edge has dropped its "legendarily long" patch notes a month or so early.
If you were asked to name some of this year's new games with the highest Steam scores, names like Split Fiction and Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 will probably spring to mind. However, unless you played the original or you're a big Metroidvania fan, you'll probably overlook Ender Magnolia. Sitting on a 95% user rating, it's an absolute masterpiece, and it's just got even better thanks to a huge new update that adds a boss rush mode and New Game Plus.
Verity Amersham's pockets are overflowing. Her school uniform hides a paperclip, a safety pin, two school badges, two books, a bottle of wine, a bottle of chloroform, a handwritten note, and more. None of it will do any good, as I have failed once again. Verity will be expelled from school.
I have saved Verity from her fate previously. Expelled! is Inkle working in their Overboard! mode, which Alice B so enjoyed upon its surprise release in 2021. Here, again, you play and replay a short 45-60 minute story, trying new ideas and learning more each time. It also returns to the interwar years for a different kind of pastiche of golden age mystery fiction: the school story.
Following the 1.6 update, Zenless Zone Zero players discovered HoYoVerse recast Nicholas Thurkettle, the English voice actor for the character Von Lycaon. The voice actor turned to social media to note his surprise. He stated the developer and Sound Cadence Studios did not alert him about the change ahead of the patch and decision.
HoYoVerse featured Thurkettle as the Zenless Zone Zero Lycaon voice actor from the game's launch in July 2024. He is a a Victoria Housekeeping Ice unit and one of the few male S-rank units. He resembles a wolf, as he is a member of the Thiren race. The actor stated he hadn't heard from HoYoVerse or Sound Cadence Studios about the game since October 2024.
You can hear Thurkettle performing as the character below in the official "Wolfishly Charming" trailer from May 2024:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OqyvAXbgiQ&t=44s
He also appeared in the voice actor reveal video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVZsqF7GHO0
The social media account Timely Von Lycaon shared a video clip from the Zenless Zone Zero 1.6 storyline update highlighting the new voice actor and difference.
HoYoVerse hasn't issued any statement about the change in direction for the character. There was also no update about other performers in the game. It is unknown if there were any other surprise changes as of yet.
Zenless Zone Zero is available for the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the 1.6 update is live now. Lycaon is available at all times, as he is one of the S-rank Agents available on every banner.
A massive free 1.1.0 update dropped for Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist that adds New Game+, a Boss Rush mode, and various updates and fixes. The critically acclaimed Metroidvania first debuted in early access, and the full version launched in January 2025. The latest update is available now for players on all platforms.
The first major change that the Ender Magnolia 1.10 patch introduces is New Game+. All of your gear and relics will carry over into your new playthrough. However, the patch notes explained that enemies will be "smarter and stronger with new attack patterns."
At Respites, Lilac will now be able to revisit bosses from throughout the game. When she does, we can earn additional Fragments to unlock more collectables. A Boss Rush Mode has also been added into Ender Magnolia, with greater rewards for those who challenge it. This is a timed mode with extra bonuses for taking down the bosses against the clock.
Ender Magnolia is the sequel to Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights, which was hugely successful when it launched in 2021. Ender Lilies also released without New Game+ and Boss Rush Mode. Like Ender Magnolia's 1.1.0 patch, they were both added at a later date via a free update.

As you approach the postgame stages of Monster Hunter Wilds, you'll get your hands on the Artian Weapons and Armor. You'll initially encounter its distinct weapon class first until you eventually unlock its gear. We're here to show how to get the secret Artian Armor set in MH Wilds.
To unlock the hidden Artian Armor set, complete Alma's What We Protect side quest. It'll appear during Chapter 5, which requires you to reach the endgame. Once you unlock this chapter, Alma will enlist you on a Blangonga hunt at Iceshard Cliffs.
Screenshot by Destructoid
Those strong enough to bring this beast down will receive the Artian α Armor recipe as a reward. Go to the Smithy to discover this new set. In addition to this piece, you'll receive 10 Ancient Wyvern Coins and a Large Goldenscale Vase. Both items can be used in Item Trades, which benefit the Material Retrieval farming system.
All Blangonga weaknesses
You can prepare yourself for the Blangonga showdown by using these weaknesses:
Weakest Body Part: Rear
Recommended Elemental Attack: Fire and Thunder
Effective Status Effects:
Poison: Moderately effective
Sleep: Moderately effective
Paralysis: Moderately effective
Blastblight: Moderately effective
Stun: Moderately effective
Exhaust: Moderately effective
Effective Items:
Flash Pod
Shock Trap
Pitfall Trap
The Sonic Bomb is the only trap you should avoid utilizing for the Blangonga fight, as it won't be as effective as the others. You can also target its rear (yes, that means its butt) with either fire or thunder attacks). Or, go for its breakable parts on its head and tail.
Screenshot by Destructoid
Be warned; the Blongonga has a pretty mean punch when it's angry. Even more so, its minions (the small Blangos) will go after you to deal more damage.
What's included in the Artian Armor recipe?
While the 'What We Do' side quest does unlock the secret armor recipe, you'll still need to farm its resources. Here's a breakdown of its ingredients:
Armor Pieces
Required Ingredients
Artian Helm α
x5 Gracium x1 Frenzy Crystal x1 Novacrystal
Artian Mail α
x5 Gracium x2 Frenzy Shard x10 Earth Crystal
Artian Vambraces α
x5 Gracium x1 Frenzy Crystal x1 Dragonbone Relic
Artian Coil α
x5 Gracium x2 Frenzy Shard x1 Firecell Stone
Artian Greaves α
x5 Gracium x1 Frenzy Crystal x3 Guardian Blood+
Each piece costs 4,000 Zenny and three High-Rank resources. Most materials should be available to you at the start of Chapter 5. However, you must advance in this chapter to unlock the Frenzy Crystals. Let's go over how to get to all Artian Armor ingredients.
Gracium: High-Rank Mining Outcrops in Iceshard Cliffs
Frenzy Crystal: Destroy Wounds on Gore Mangala (unlocks during Chapter 5-2)
Novacrystals: High-Rank Mining Outcrops in Windward Plains, Scarlet Forest, Oilwell Basin, or Wyveria
Frenzy Shard: Destroy Wounds on Frenzied Monsters (excluding Gore Mangala)
Earth Crystal: Low or High-Rank Mining Outcrops at Windward Plains or Scarlet Forest
Dragonbone Relic: High-Rank Bonepiles
Firecell Stone: High-Rank Mining Outcrops in Oilwell Basin
Guardian Blood+: Destroy Wounds on High-Rank Guardian Monsters
The Gore Mangala is one of the very last monsters you'll encounter in Monster Hunter Wilds. Complete each sub-chapter in the main campaign until you get to the Shrouded in Black quest. You'll likely reach Hunter Rank 34 to 40 at this time, which will take a while to achieve.

In the latest World of Warcraft: The War Within Season 2 Undermine(d) update, you can once again traverse the Timeways from Dragonflight to easily reach portals to past Mythic+ dungeons that are part of this rotation. Here is where you can find the new M+ portals in WoW 11.1 Season 2.
Where the New Mythic+ Dungeon portals are located
You can access the new Mythic+ dungeon portals that lead to previous expansion's M+ dungeons in WoW by visiting the Timeways via a portal in the Stoneshaper's Atrium in Dornogal on the Isle of Dorn, as indicated on the map above.
Once there, right click on the portal and you will be taken to the Timeways, an area introduced in the Dragonflight expansion that is updated with portals for previous expansion dungeons that are part of this season's M+ rotation. Once inside, you will see three portals that lead to three different zones and dungeons:
Left Portal: Operation: Mechagon Workshop dungeon in Mechagon
Center Portal: Theater of Pain dungeon in Maldraxxus
Right Portal: The MOTHERLODE!! dungeon in Isle of Kezan
For Season 2 of World of Warcraft: The War Within, four of the M+ dungeons in this season's rotation are simply from The War Within expansion, meaning you can get to them throughout Dornogal. This includes Cindrew Meadery in Isle of Dorn, Darkflame Cleft in The Ringing Deeps, The Rookery in Isle of Dorn, and Priory of the Sacred Flame in Hallowfall.
The eighth and final dungeon as part of the WoW Season 2 M+ dungeon rotation is the new Operation: Floodgate which can be accessed in the new Undermine zone that was introduced in this update.
By this logic, it's best to set your Hearthstone to Dornogal for this update, as you can easily reach each dungeon from the capital city either by flying to the appropriate region, teleporting to Undermine via the portal in Dornogal, or accessing the Timeways to reach the old expansion dungeons.
The Galacta's Cosmic Event is ongoing in Marvel Rivals at the time of writing, from which you can get a Black Widow costume for absolutely no extra cost.
The name of the costume is "Mrs. Barnes," and it's the last reward of the event's track. If you're wondering how to get it, here's everything you need to know.
How to get the Mrs. Barnes Black Widow costume in Marvel Rivals
To get the free Mrs. Barnes Black Widow costume, all you need to do is participate in the Galacta's Cosmic Event board game, which consists of 22 blocks in total.
Screenshot by Destructoid
Since it's a board game, a die is involved – meaning the number you get when it's rolled is completely random. There's a chance of missing it completely in the first run in case the die rolls a number that skips the free cosmetic.
In that case, you have to keep rolling from the start with the hope of landing on it at some point. In other words, there's a bit of luck involved in getting hands on the free Mrs. Barnes Black Widow costume in Marvel Rivals.
How to get more die rolls
You need to collect 30 Galacta's Power Cosmic to get an additional die roll. All you need to do is complete the Galacta's Cosmic Event Challenges to get this item.
Apart from that, you also get up to four free die rolls (one every 24 hours). This is only for a limited period – till March 16, 2025, at 2 a.m. PT.
The event ends on the same day as Season 1, which means that at the time of writing, you have over 30 days to get all the rewards.

No Rest for the Wicked is one of the most stunning and slick Diablo-like RPGs around, but its early access journey has been littered with pot holes - the biggest being the sale of Private Division, the Take-Two-owned label that was publishing the game. However, after a fairly long period of silence, Moon Studios (which has also created the beloved Ori games) has revealed two big bits of news - the first is that it has acquired the rights to No Rest of the Wicked and is now fully independent, and the second is that its new update will be "extra special" and its biggest yet.

The full details of the new AMD Radeon RX 9070 gaming GPU have been officially revealed, and the new GPU seriously threatens the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070, which has the same MSRP. The new graphics card makes big strides when it comes to ray tracing performance, and it also supports AMD's new fine-looking FSR 4 upscaling tech to improve frame rates without making your games look like a blurry mess.
You can now read all about this new GPU by reading our full AMD Radeon RX 9070 review, where we found a graphics card that generally beats the RTX 5070, although the latter still has the upper hand when it comes to path tracing. The Radeon RX 9070 now also has a place on our best graphics card guide, although its main competitor is arguably its own bigger sibling, the 9070 XT.
What are the best Cyberpunk 2077 mods? CD Projekt Red released its own REDmod tools for free, allowing everyone to install Cyberpunk 2077 mods through a dedicated client they can download from Steam or GOG.
This release comes as we also see Cyberpunk 2077 mods that alter the range of facial features, change your looks in small ways after character creation, and even access stuff we were never meant to see. That last one's important as it adds new functionality to the cyberpunk game. What starts with a shove one day could evolve into giving your character superpowers.
For the first time in its history of making gaming GPUs, Nvidia hasn't just dropped the ball, but embarrassingly fumbled it, watched it roll into a drain, and then trodden on a rake for an encore. If there's one word you could use to describe Nvidia's approach to gaming GPUs over the last 25 years, it's "relentless," but in 2025 you could replace that with "complacent."
Until this year, Nvidia rarely rested on its laurels, and even when it made mistakes (I'm looking at you, GeForce FX and Fermi) they were at least made as a result of big architectural changes to GPUs, rather than complacency. But Nvidia's latest gaming GPUs look like the result of a company that thinks it can coast along without shaking up its formula.
Of course, I understand why gaming isn't a top priority for Nvidia right now. Jensen Huang is the businessman of the moment in his fancy leather jackets, the company is literally worth trillions, and the AI revolution is basically an industrial-scale money printer for Nvidia's shareholders. The upshot of this laser focus on AI, though, is that Nvidia has taken its foot off the gas in the gaming world, not just in terms of the core tech for the RTX 5000 GPUs, but also in terms of quality control, manufacturing, and supply.
What are the best FM24 mods? Sports Interactive's immersive soccer management sim remains the series' latest and greatest, and its longevity is set to expand following the demise of FM25. While it's unclear if we're going to be getting any more official support for Football Manager 2024, we're turning to its incredible modding community to keep us up to date until FM26 arrives.
Our FM24 mods list features not only post-transfer window squad updates, but optimizations to the simulation game's core gameplay loop, official logos, and much more. While it's not the comprehensive overhaul SI promised with FM25, the bestFootball Manager 2024 mods will more than do for now.
How do you get Valorant Twitch drops? It's not often we get gifted Valorant Twitch drops by Riot, but a big event comes around once in a while that spurs the team into giving away a few in-game treats.
With VCT 2025 here, it's time for another round of Valorant Twitch drops, and we're sure you're tuning into the action anyway, so you may as well earn something while you're there. We might not have Valorant skins on offer right now, but if you're waiting for the next Valorant Night Market, it's still something to keep you going.
Trying to find out where to buy the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT GPU? Well, we're here to help you with that. We've checked the virtual store shelves of retailers around the world to find where AMD's most powerful RDNA 4 gaming GPU contender is either in stock, available for pre-order, or where you can set up stock notifications for the new card. We update this guide daily to ensure you have the best chance of spotting when cards are available.
As our RX 9070 XT review showed, this AMD GPU is the champion of the mid-range market, with a fantastic price/performance ratio that makes it the best graphics card to buy for around $600. However, despite assurances from AMD that RX 9070 stock would be plentiful at launch, cards have quickly sold out so you'll have to be quick on the draw to grab one.
The official RX 9070 XT price is $599 / $865 CAD / £569 / AU$870, so that's the price you should be hoping to pay for entry-level versions of the GPU. However, card makers such as Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, and Sapphire also produce souped up overclocked cards that demand more money, but we wouldn't recommend paying more than $100 above those MSRPs.
Of all the many events I've attended for PCGamesN, BlizzCon is still the most special. Having played Blizzard games since I was a kid, I'd always wanted to venture out to Anaheim to immerse myself in the worlds I hold so dear. Azeroth, Sanctuary, Overwatch 2's futuristic Earth - my childhood playgrounds brought to vibrant life. But BlizzCon was canceled following the Xbox merger, with its future somewhat uncertain. Today, Blizzard has confirmed that the iconic convention is coming back, but we'll have to wait a little longer.
How do you get Guild Wars 2 Twitch drops? After announcing Twitch drops in 2022 as part of their tenth anniversary and Steam release, Guild Wars 2 is back with another Twitch drop offering to see in the new content, here's when to tune in.
To celebrate the Janthir Wilds Repentance expansion, where we'll get to explore dangerous new lands in major updates to carry us into 2025, we're also treated to raids, encounters, a new mount, and more. Alongside the release, ArenaNet has announced a new wave of Guild Wars 2 Twitch drops and the rewards we can earn for taking part.
AMD recently released its new FSR 4 upscaling technology alongside its new RDNA 4 gaming GPUs, and modders have already figured out a way to get this new upscaling tech working in just about any game that already has Nvidia DLSS included.
AMD FSR 4 requires a Radeon 9000 series GPU, and you can read all about the latest one in our RX 9070 XT review. Not only is it one of the best graphics cards that money can buy, but it is applying some serious pressure on Nvidia amidst that company's ongoing stock and performance issues for its RTX 5000 GPUs.
Want to know what Genshin Impact outfits are available? The outfits system was introduced in the Genshin Impact 1.6 update, following months of pleading from the community. These outfits give you the chance to dress your favourite characters in brand-new clothes.
As Genshin Impact characters are locked behind gacha mechanics in the free PC game, players were initially worried that skins may be sold using the same system. However, there are actually two methods to unlock skins: purchase the skin for 1,680 Genesis Crystals, or complete specific Genshin Impact events to unlock the skin for free. If you're unlucky enough to miss the event, free skins will make their way to the Character Outfit Shop in the future. Here's a list of every outfit available in Genshin Impact right now and how to get them all for yourself.
What are the best new PC games in 2025? Perhaps you've just been paid, your bank account is filled with virtual dosh, or you simply want to get caught up with the latest PC games because they're, well, new and shiny.
As much as we love firing up our old favorites, there are loads of new PC games that deserve some attention, too. To keep you in the know, we've got the definitive list of the best PC games that have been released recently, from big-budget RPG games to indie strategy games. Whatever you're into, stay up to date with all the latest and greatest releases right here on PCGamesN.
Which games are coming out in 2025? If you're anything like us, your time is already stretched trying to play all the great games out right now, and the year isn't slowing down any time soon. Hope and anticipation, agony and elation - the endless cycle of emotions we go through during the annual PC release schedule.
Year in, and year out, videogames are produced in such varying degrees of quality that not a single one of them is destined for certain success. Some of the best PC games of all time release alongside utter disasters, series are born while others dwindle, and occasionally a game lives up to our expectations. Below you'll find all the upcoming PC games to keep on your radar, and it's wildly varied. There are racing games, story games, city builders, and more, plus all of their expected release dates.
Who are the best Dead By Daylight killers? Eight years in, the Dead by Daylight character roster is bigger than ever, boasting a massive 38 killers and 45 survivors at the time of writing. Thanks to that huge list of names, and regular changes to perks and add-ons, it's certainly difficult to keep track of who you should main.
Among the best PC games out there, the joy of asymmetrical horror games has always been the ability to be the bad guy. While there's certainly something thrilling fighting for your life in survival games (there must be a reason we all wonder how we'd do in a zombie apocalypse, right?), nothing gets the heart racing like shirking the lawful-good responsibilities of real life and taking on the role of a blood-thirsty killer. Every one of the following DBD killers has their own terrifying unique power, from ranged axe throws, to infectious bile and close-range chainsaw attacks. But which is best? Find out with our tier list of all Dead by Daylight killers.
What is the next Dead by Daylight Chapter? New chapters arrive in Dead by Daylight every three months, and it can be difficult to keep up with the new characters, maps, and more. Luckily, these updates arrive on a fairly rigid schedule, so we can usually look forward to the next DBD chapter before we even know what it is.
With so much additional content, it's incredible that Behaviour Interactive is able to come up with new perks and powers for the latest DBD killers and survivors. The last Dead by Daylight character to enter The Fog was the gruesomely gorgeous Houndmaster and her pet dog, Snug. Joining them was Taurie Cain, the first Scottish survivor in the horror game. Next, The Ghoul arrives alone, with the DBD FNAF update to follow this summer. Here's everything we know about the next DBD updates and PTBs.
Which League of Legends skins are currently on sale in the store? LoL is a free-to-play game in the truest sense - you can enjoy everything the MOBA offers for absolutely nothing. Now if you were to ask a seasoned League player if that were true, they'd probably have to stifle a few tears as they check how much their bank account has suffered buying skins since they started battling on the Rift.
Riot rotates a series of skins in the store, with the savviest of us holding out until the cosmetic they want ends up in the discount section store or even the League of Legends Mythic shop. The shiny new cosmetics are only available briefly, so act fast if you want to snag the new hotness. Here is every League of Legends skin on sale right now if you want to know what's in the store without booting up the client.
What's on sale in the League of Legends Mythic shop? New skins for LoL are released all the time, with a new event arriving on the Rift every few weeks, but what happens if you missed the boat with that awesome K/DA Evelynn skin, or if you've seen a Hextech skin in a game of Summoner's Rift and want to bag it for yourself?
The Mythic shop is a special storefront in the free PC game that stocks rare skins, wards, chromas, and Nexes finishers. These cosmetic items aren't available for real-world money, as they can only be purchased with Mythic Essence, so no more worrying about how much you've spent in League of Legends. The stock held in this store is rotated regularly, with some skins becoming unavailable for months, so it's best to keep up to date on what's on sale in the League of Legends Mythic store.
Normally, when you think of Dead by Daylight killers, you think of, well, bad guys. There's Dracula from Castlevania, myriad classic horror villains, and various in-universe characters that are desperate to hack The Fog's survivor roster to pieces. It may come as a surprise, then, that Tokyo Ghoul's protagonist, Ken Kaneki, will be the next DBD killer, aptly entitled 'The Ghoul.' Set to put a horror spin on the iconic anime character, he's available right now on the game's PTB.
What are the best ATS mods in 2025? The cult-favorite trucking game is still going strong since its release in 2016. While American Truck Simulator is a fantastic game in its own right, its longevity can also be attributed to its modding community. Given how long the game has been out at this point, finding the very best ATS mods can be a little bit tricky in 2025. That's where we come in.
We've curated our picks for the best mods in American Truck Simulator to download in 2025. We've included a variety of mod types in our list, from striking visual improvements to enhanced navigation and a realistic fuel economy. No matter your experience with the simulation game, our collection of the top American Truck Simulator mods has something for everyone.
A new report has suggested that an Xbox handheld is coming this year, but Microsoft isn't going to be making it. Instead, it has reportedly reached out to partners and struck a deal that will see a device hit the market sometime in 2025. Unfortunately, it is likely to still be running Windows, with no sign of a new handheld version of the OS set to land soon.
While the Steam Deck is still the best handheld gaming PC for most people, this new rumored initiative from Microsoft has the potential to be extremely disruptive. Windows has long been viewed as the biggest weakness of any handheld on which it's installed, which begs the question, is Microsoft putting the cart before the horse if this reported Xbox handheld is released before Windows is optimized for it?
It's not even been two months since the release of Ender Magnolia: Bloom In The Mist, and co-developers Adglobe and Live Wire are already back with a pretty solid update. The major addition is a New Game+ mode, which allows you to start the "evil-purging adventure anew, this time armed with gear and relics from previous playthroughs", and face "harrowing hordes of smarter, stronger enemies with new attack patterns."
I confess, I'm writing up the 1.0 release date for grubby open world game Vivat Slovakia less because I'm tantalised by the carboot sale GTA 6 aesthetic, than because the latest trailer ends with main character Trotter squatting weirdly on a coffee table. He perches there with track-suited elbows akimbo, smiling faintly. Mockingly.
I'm not all that big on ranking games, truth be told - why would I want to catalogue a piece of art that way? But seeing as you have me at gunpoint (just pretend for me), I'll admit I'd probably put Celeste in my top five. The platforming is tighter than any Mario entry, the art and soundtrack are stellar, and the story really hits home for me too.
Grand yet furtive robot action-adventure Steel Seed will launch on April 10th, developers Storm in a Teacup and publishers ESDigital Games have announced. Not heard of Steel Seed before? You would've if I'd ever written up that demo build I played at last year's Game Developer Conference. I don't know why it's taken me this long to mention the game, given that it contains one of my favourite things in fiction: a machine the size of a world.
Good Smile Company opened pre-orders for a series of rereleased Nendoroids based on NieR: Automata characters, including YorHa 2B, 9S, and A2 (Long Hair Version). Each Nendoroid will cost ¥6,600 with shipping expected in July 2025.
Both 2B and 9S come with two faceplates and removeable blindfolds, accompanying Pod units, and their Black Boxes. A2, meanwhile, comes with 3 faceplates and a sheet of B-Mode effects. Each of the characters come with stands, optional parts and weapons with effects, with 9S also coming with several Hacking effects and a small machine enemy.
Additionally, the US Good Smile Store also has Nendoroids of 9S and both Long Hair and Short Hair versions of A2 currently in stock, despite the NieR: Automata rerelease not appearing to affect that outlet.
You can get a look at the 2B, 9S, and A2 (Long Hair) Nendoroids via the gallery below:
The rereleased NieR: Automata Nendoroids of 2B, 9S, and A2 (Long Hair) are available to pre-order on the Good Smile Online Shop until April 23, 2025. They will ship in Japan in July 2025 and worldwide after that.
Shift Up announced the new Goddess of Victory: NIKKE character Trina and confirmed that there will be a spring event called For Rest that features her. Unlike some additions, she's permanent part of the cast going forward. While she won't be in New Commander Special Recruit or the tutorial Ordinary Recruit, she will be available via the Ordinary Recruit and Social Point Recruit banners and Mold items. She launches on March 13, 2025, following the update, and the event starts the same day, and her focus banner will remain until March 27, 2025.
Trina will be a Supporter in NIKKE, and the new character is designed to both heal and buff allies. Her Nature's Grace passive restores HP. Her Peaceful Time passive affects fellow Electric code units on her team and provides buffs like temporary invulnerability, increased attack damage, and increased loading speed. Her Mother Forest Burst II skill buffs affects all enemies skills Burst Skill damage, increases damage, and offers additional buffs for Electric types. She also wields the Rocket Launcher called Mother Nature, and she's a part of the Missilis Manufacturer group.
Here's a video of the new NIKKE character Trina. Shift Up shared a trailer that shows her character model when she's standing up, firing her weapon, and using her Burst in battle.

There's also an infographic highlighting each of her attacks:

As for the For Rest NIKKE event, it is the spring event this year. People can go through it and its challenge stages for rewards. Trina will be the featured character for that storyline. Like the banner tied to her, it only appears until March 27, 2025.
The last new NIKKE units to appear ended up being crossover ones. When the Evangelion event came back, Asuka: WILLE version and Rei Ayanami (Tentative Name) debuted as new SSR fighters on the banner. We could also earn a free SR Sakura Suzuhara by playing.
Goddess of Victory: NIKKE is available on PCs and mobile devices, and the new For Rest event and playable character Trina will debut on March 13, 2025.
Natsume announced the pre-order bonus for the upcoming Switch game Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley & Skytree Village, and it isn't a plush toy this time around. While said orders are available at Amazon now for $39.99, only the Natsume Store page mentions the bonus. The company also offered a first look at screenshots showing how the former 3DS games look on a new platform.
This time, the pre-order bonus for Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley & Skytree Village is an acrylic standee instead of a plush. This decorative item shows various animals from these two entries. So you can see a chicken with chick, dog, cat, sheep, cow, horse, and two birds standing in front of a barn. The series' name appears on it as well.
Here's how that looks:
Image via Natsume
This breaks tradition for the series. Typically, Natsume offers a plush as a pre-order bonus or pack-in for a version of the game. The Harvest Moon: One World Collector's Edition included a stuffed chicken, as an example. When it came to Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos, pre-orders of that included a Sleepytime Cow plush.
As for a peek at the game, here are the first screenshots for the Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley & Skytree Village collection:

There's still no official trailer showing either of the Switch ports of the two Harvest Moon 3DS games look in-action yet.
While this is the new Natsume game under the Harvest Moon game, Marvelous and XSEED are working on a new Bokujou Monogatari game that will appear under the Story of Seasons name. It first discussed it in 2024, and we're waiting for further reveals about it.
Natsume's Cozy Bundle with Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley and Harvest Moon: Skytree Village will be on the Nintendo Switch in June 2025, and we can pre-order the collection now. Both games also appeared on the 3DS.

Pokémon TCG Pocket Manaphy Wonder Pick rewards
During the event there will be two types of Wonder Pick available. Bonus Picks will feature either a Snorlax or Manaphy card, as well as two Wonder Pick Hourglasses and two Wonder Pick Shop Tickets. The cards available from Bonus Picks are usually the Triumphant Light Snorlax, Space-Time Smackdown Manaphy, but there is a chance for these cards to be the promo versions with new art.
Chansey Picks are rarer than Bonus Picks but only feature Manaphy and Snorlax promo cards. The ratio of Snorlax to Manaphy cards vary, and Chansey Picks cost two Wonder Stamina.
Square Enix announced the newest paid Final Fantasy XIV emote is Blow Bubbles, and it is available in the FFXIV Online Store. It costs $7, which is the standard price for such actions. It also appeared alongside three new items, though one of them marks the paid debut of a formerly free reward.
First, here's how the Blow Bubbles FFXIV emote looks. Buying that add-on gets you Ballroom Etiquette - Bubbly Diversions. When used, a Warrior of Light pulls out a wand and tub of bubbles, dips it, and blows bubbles. Said bubbles then remain for a bit, which could be useful for photo ops.
Here's the official trailer highlighting it:

And here are the two official screenshots showing the FFXIV Blow Bubbles paid emote in action.

The other two new items are cosmetic ones. There are Garden Palm Tree and Cactus Patch outdoor furnishings for sale. Each of these cost $5. The official screenshots for them offer a sense of scale, with different types of avatars showing us how tall all of these trees are.

In addition to the FFXIV Online Store updating with new items, it made an old Little Ladie's Day reward a paid one. Remember the Peatie Mount from the 2024 version of the event? While you could earn it during that run of the activity in March 2024, it is now permanently available in the store for cash. It costs $12. Again, this pricing also falls in line with other types of paid mounts that end up appearing in the online storefront, which includes original ones and former event rewards.
Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Blow Bubbles emote is available to buy in the FFXIV Online Store now.
Takarajima has revealed the Kirby-themed eco bag and round plush pouch designs that allow you to store one inside of the other. The set will come in two variants, and the company will release the products in late March 2025. [Thanks, Game Watch!]
When the owner is using the eco bag and carrying it, they can attach the Kirby face plush onto its handle with the provided carabiner clip. Once they have finished carrying and unloading items, they can then fold the bag and store it inside the unattached plush. The carabiner on the plush then allows you to clip that onto another bag or backpack.
Pre-orders for the red and blue variants of the set are available separately online via the Takarajima Channel website. The company has also added a WorldShopping widget on its web store, so people residing outside Japan can also order this merchandise. Each set will be available with the same price tag of 2,750 yen (~$18.65).

There has been a lot of unique Kirby-themed merchandise appearing in Japan. In January 2025, Plex released a KirbyStar Rod toy that can also play select BGMs and sound effects from the video game series. Bandai also released chopstick holders shaped after Kirby and Waddle Dee in late 2024.
The Kirby eco bag and plush pouch sets will be available on March 28, 2025.
Following her solo concert Grimoire and appearances at Hololive Super Expo 2025 and Hololive 6th Fes, Vtuber Mori Calliope announced she's taking a break for health reasons. She confirmed on social media that she's seen a doctor, and she also noted she will keep people updated on her progress.
Mori first mentioned feeling unwell online on March 10, 2025. This was one day after the events and concerts in Chiba, Japan. At the time, she reported that she would take some time to recover after experiencing "a fever and chills." She then noted she visited a doctor on March 11, 2025, who blamed it on the shift from winter to spring. She also mentioned an additional appointment later this week.
Here's the full statement Hololive Vtuber Mori Calliope made regarding her health and her temporary break while she recovers. Further updates will be shared via her official account.
In addition to the concert and performances at Hololive 6th Fes, Mori released a new song. She collaborated with Persona series composer Shoji Meguro and Lotus Juice, who worked on Persona 3 Reload, to create the song "Seeing Stars." The song is also available to buy via storefronts like Amazon.
Hololive Vtuber Mori Calliope is temporarily taking some time off for health reasons while she recovers, and she'll update on her return in the near future.
TKRI and Good Smile Racing have revealed a new Racing Miku design made by Toridamono of Atelier Ryza fame. The new design shall be known as the Racing Miku Kyojo Vita 2025 version. The team has also applied the design to its racecars for the upcoming Fuji Champion Race Vita Kyojo series. [Thanks, Hobby Watch!]
This is not the first time Toridamono has made a Racing Miku design. Good Smile Racing had previously worked with him to make a design for the racing team's mascot character in 2023. But while the team continued to work with the illustrator in the following years, it moved the collaboration to the all-female race series Kyojo Cup in 2024. The regular Racing Miku for the Super GT series in 2024 was designed by Mogumo, who is best known for Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury. Kei Mochizuki then took up the helm for the 2025 Super GT version.
The TKRI with Good Smile Racing team also revealed that it has applied the livery featuring the new Racing Miku design to not one, but two racecars for the FCR-Vita Kyojo 2025 series. Riona Tomishita will newly join the team with car number 225 for the 2025 season, accompanying Yuki Okamoto's car number 4 that debuted in 2024. The new FCR-Vita series will take place at the Fuji Speedway with four rounds scheduled on March 15, May 10, August 16, and December 20, 2025.

The Kyojo Vita 2025 version of Racing Miku will feature in the four-round Fuji Champion Race Vita Kyojo series, which will take place at Fuji Speedway from March 15, 2025, until December 20, 2025. The group will also showcase the racecar at the Odaiba Itasha Tengoku 2025 event, which will take place on March 23, 2025.
NHK revealed that it will air a special television show showcasing songs from Hololive Vtubers starring Hoshimachi Suisei. The show will air under the title "Venue101 Presents Vtuber Special," and it will appear in Japan on March 22, 2025.
Hoshimachi Suisei will appear in the show as its host. NHK noted that it chose the specific Hololive Vtuber because she has made numerous achievements, such as a successful concert at the Nippon Budokan in February 2025 and her "Bibbidiba" music video getting over 100 million views on YouTube as a record for Vtuber songs.
Suisei also published a message on the webpage, which hints that she will perform a special song besides interacting with the show's guests. However, she will not only showcase her own songs as she will also introduce hit songs from other fellow Hololive Vtubers. The songs will come from not only fellow Japanese Vtuber Houshou Marine but also the Indonesian group Vtuber Kobo Kanaeru and Hololive English's Mori Calliope.
Hololive Vtuber songs have been one of the topics Cover is focusing on. The company, which also hosts the Hololive Production agency group, revealed a new mobile game codenamed Dreams during the Hololive 6th Fes concert. It noted that this game will let its players "enjoy Hololive songs," which suggests that it will have belong to the rhythm game genre.
The "Venue101 Presents Vtuber Special" episode featuring Hololive songs will air on the NHK channel on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 11 AM JST.
Taito announced the release of Slime sandwich molds based on the iconic monster design from the Dragon Quest game series. The sandwich molds will appear as crane game prizes in arcades and game centers throughout Japan, and the release date for the new item is March 15, 2025.
The molds are approximately 12cm in height and width at its most wide point. In addition to giving sandwich slices the same shape as the Dragon Quest slimes, they also give the bread the same eyes and smile as the iconic monster design when pressing down on it. In the process of cutting the bread, the molds also get rid of the crust and seal the sides of the sandwich.
Taito previously released a variety of toys and merchandise goods featuring slimes from Dragon Quest, such as a line of Liquid Metal Slime goods which includes the recent re-release of the sensor figure that runs away, a Liquid Metal Slime PC mouse, or an Liquid Metal Slime automatic floor cleaner. Furthermore, Square Enix recently announced the new Dragon Quest Golf brand of goods, which will feature golf merchandise themed after the Dragon Quest game series.
The Dragon Quest Slime sandwich molds will appear as crane game prizes throughout Japan from March 15, 2025.
Good Smile Company opened pre-orders for the new NieR: Automata Ver1.1a figma figure of A2. The figure costs $110.99/12,800 yen and it is set to release in Japan on January 2026, with its North American release window set for Q2 2026. [Thanks, Dengeki Hobby!]
Note: There will be major NieR: Automata spoilers regarding A2 below.
The pre-orders for the figure opened today in both the Good Smile Company Japan and US online shops, with the pre-order period ending on April 23, 2025. The figure is fully articulated and it stands at approximately 160mm (or 6.30 inches) tall when set upright.
Alongside a base to set A2 in different action or resting poses, the figure comes with various hand parts and three face plates; a standard one, a face with gritted teeth, and a shouting face. Additionally, other parts included are a Type-4O small sword and large blade, as well as various alternate hair pieces, such as a dynamic long hair part, and a short hair part.
You can check out the new A2 figma figure here:
Images via Good Smile Company
The figure was originally announced during the Wonder Festival 2025 back in February 10, 2025 alongside another scale figure of A2, both of them based on the character's appearance in the NieR: Automata Ver1.1a anime adaptation.
The NieR: Automata Ver1.1a figma figure of A2 costs $110.99/12,800 yen and it will release on January 2026 in Japan and Q2 2026 in North America. The game is available on the PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and Windows PC. There is also an anime adaptation that is available to stream via Crunchyroll.
Build-a-Bear continues to make and sell giant Sanrio character stuffed animals, and it announced that it brought back its huge Kuromi plush. This is a gigantic toy that first debuted about a year ago in March 2024. It's now back on March 11, 2025, with a $128 standard version and one that costs $134.50 and includes a bow.
This Kuromi stands at 36 inches tall. As such, she can't wear standard Build-a-Bear clothing. The only accessory option available at the retailer is a "gifting bow" with that is purple with pink skull accents, lavendar hearts, and little versions of the character on it. That can be bought in the bundle or alone for $6.50. While it is large, it can arrive either stuffed or unstuffed, so you could have it filled at a store.
The size does involve some other limitations. You can't choose economy shipping, so only standard, express, and next day options are available. There are also extra charges if you go with the faster two options. You also can only get it online. It won't be in-stores, and you can't pick up one you purchased from a location in a mall or something.
Here's how the Build-a-Bear giant Kuromi plush looks, with the pictures of it offering a sense of scale due to a person holding the Sanrio stuffed animal in them.
Image via Build-a-Bear
The last huge Sanrio stuffed animal to appear there was one of Cinnamoroll. The rerun of that toy appeared in January 2025. We also got to meet a big Pompompurin too. That showed up in October 2024.
The giant Kuromi plush is now back at Build-a-Bear, and the store is selling both it and a standard size stuffed animal of the Sanrio character now. You can only find the huge version of the character online.
Behaviour Interactive announced that Tokyo Ghoul is the next Dead by Daylight crossover and confirmed that means Ken Kaneki will be a playable character. He's available to test out later on March 11, 2025, if you get access to the Steam public test build. However, his official launch doesn't come until April 2, 2025, when cosmetics based on other characters from the anime and manga series and masks will appear.
There are very few details on how Ken Kaneki will function as the new killer called The Ghoul in Dead by Daylight, but we should know details soon considering he's in the public test build later today. We do know he's a "bad guy" here, rather than being a hero like he is in the original anime and manga. He will still use his Rinkaku Kagune tentacles to move and attack. Behaviour also mentioned an Enraged Mode, which almost sounds a bit like it resembles his Rinkaku Kakuja state.
As for the other characters who will appear as part of the Dead by Daylight Tokyo Ghoul crossover, there's a list of some of the cosmetics debuting when that launches in April 2025. Here's what we'll see:
Awakened Ghoul Outfit for The Ghoul Ken Kaneki
David King
Eto Costume Outfit for Nea Karlsson
Hide Costume Outfit for Renato Lyra
Jake Park Mask
Jonah Vasquez Mask
Rabbit Costume Outfit for Yui Kimura
Rize Kamishiro Outfit for The Ghoul Ken Kaneki
The Unknown Mask
There's no word about prices for anything yet.
One of the last crossovers in Dead by Daylight involved Castlevania. If someone picked up that $7.99 Chapter DLC after it debuted in August 2024, they got access to the Killer Dracula and Survivor Trevor Belmont. Since then, a Doomed Course add-on brought The Houndmaster Killer and Survivor Taurie Cain in November 2024.
Dead by Daylight is available on the PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox Series X, and PC. The Tokyo Ghoul DLC debuts officially on April 2, 2025. The Tokyo Ghoul anime is streaming on Crunchyroll, while Viz Media handles the manga outside Japan.
Capcom and Taito announced that they will add Mai Shiranui to Street Fighter 6: Type Arcade on March 13, 2025. Players of the game's arcade version will soon be able to use the SNK guest character on their preferred platform. As that will be in a cabinet, there will be no additional fee or need to buy DLC to use the crossover character.
The arcade version, which is separately handled by Taito, usually has a staggered update pace from the original fighting game releases that Capcom is managing on consoles and PC. As an example, the other SNK guest character Terry Bogard appeared in Street Fighter 6: Type Arcade on October 24, 2024, which is exactly a month after he debuted on the console and PC releases on September 24, 2024. Mai will be a similar case, as she has been available on the original Street Fighter 6 releases since February 5, 2025.
The difference will lie in the availabilities in the character selection menu. In the console and PC releases, players have to purchase DLC to unlock the post-launch characters. In this arcade port, Capcom and Taito are making all extra characters available to choose without any additional charges besides the credits required for a gameplay session.
Image courtesy of Capcom and Taito
The addition of Mai Shiranui will not be the only new thing in this arcade update. Capcom and Taito will also add High Master, Grand Master, and Ultimate Master as new achievable ranks in the Master League.
In addition, people who play the game on both arcades and consoles (or PC) can link both of their accounts. If they have acquired Master League titles and DX character colors in the console/PC version of Street Fighter 6, they can also use those in their linked account for Type Arcade.
Mai Shiranui will appear in Street Fighter 6: Type Arcade on March 13, 2025. The character is readily available via DLC in the PC and console releases of Street Fighter 6, the latter of which appear on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X.

It's not a bad pack to open for free, as the FUT Birthday promo has some terrific items. Meanwhile, make sure to check out our guide on the Edmond Tapsoba FUT Birthday SBC, which offers an excellent defensive item.
We just got an unexpected first look at Project [C4], a new game that the Estonian studio describes as "a new mind-warping espionage RPG that blends player introspection, deep character-driven dialogue, and high-stakes encounters steered by dice rolls."
In C4, players will be able to consume psychoactive substances in the hopes of better navigating a shady and complex geopolitical narrative, but these may also prove to be their downfall. "Players must steel themselves with whatever comfort they can in order to survive the violent canvas of the real."
This is all very exciting, should you not know the messed-up history of the studio.
https://youtu.be/kz9apwrMKi8
Had this reveal taken place shortly after the release of the extraordinary Disco Elysium, everyone would have likely been extremely enthusiastic about C4. Unfortunately, too much shady stuff has transpired since then for fans to be more than cautiously optimistic about anything new coming from ZA/UM.
ZA/UM's mismanagement has caused such a leakage in talent that we can barely even count the number of supposed Disco Elysium successors currently in development by ex-members of the studio. That's not, however, the most immediately egregious thing about C4. That's how, despite their actions — actions most are aware of — the studio still rides the coattails of Disco Elysium on this promo.
The only positive highlight right now is the beautiful art by Anton Vil, the artist behind the original Disco Elysium's magnificent thought cabinet.
In World of Warcraft: The War Within Season 2, you'll still need to use Valorstones to upgrade the various tracks of gear you unlock throughout the season. If you haven't done so before or forgot, here is where you can upgrade your gear with Valorstones in World of Warcraft Season 2.
Where to upgrade gear using Valorstones in Season 2
You can upgrade your gear using Valorstones in World of Warcraft: The War Within Season 2 at Cuzolth the Item Upgrades vendor in the Mythic Aspirations shop in Dornogal. More specifically, the shop is located north of the center point of Dornogal on the Isle of Dorn, over near the Stoneshaper's Atrium.
Inside the Mythic Aspirations shop you will find two NPCs: Cuzolth and Vaskarn! Cuzolth is the NPC you speak to in order to upgrade your items of all tracks in Season 2 using Valorstones, while Vaskarn will allow you to exchange your Crests for Season 2.
In World of Warcraft: The War Within Season 2 you have a cap of 2,000 Valorstones at a time, meaning you should spend it to upgrade your gear as soon as you get close to the limit. However, there is no limit to the amount of Valorstones you can ear outside of that, so you can keep farming them to upgrade!

Last year saw Evil Empire kick off The Triple-i Initiative showcase, an event focused on announcements for indie games. Now the spotlight is back on the indie world in a second edition that promises "no ads, no hosts, just games."
There's no date in place yet for the 2025 edition of the Triple-i Initiative, but we have some idea of what type of presentation to expect. According to the press release and the teaser video below, this year's event will feature a mix of launch date reveals, gameplay first looks, and world premieres.
In addition to a tease of "out of nowhere reveals," Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core, The Alters, Endless Legend 2, No, I'm Not A Human, and Enshrouded will be among the titles on display.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-kxf97IwQA
Evil Empire admits that The Triple-i Initiative started as an idea to announce The Rogue Prince of Persia. From there, additional studios got in on the plans to show off what's in store in the future. Last year's reveals also included news for Slay the Spire 2, Cataclismo, Risk of Rain 2, Palworld, and Vampire Survivors.
As for Evil Empire themselves, Marketing Director Bérenger Dupré says they don't have a "flashy new game to unveil" this time around. They still wanted to get all the other studios together again, though. "Dropping all these announcements from our corner of the gaming world in one big blast makes sure the entire show is fun to watch for our players, and for us too!" Dupré commented.
We may not know when this is all going down, but we know where, at the very least. You'll be able to watch The Triple-i Initiative 2025 on YouTube and Twitch, as well as concurrent streams via IGN, Gamespot, and Steam.

The cost of this challenge makes it an interesting SBC, as you can get a 90-rated item for less than 200,000 coins worth of fodder. I have always loved using Futre, and this version has 5* Skills/Weak Foot. The base Pace (95) and Dribbling (95) are excellent, but the Shooting could do with a boost (84).
Despite the shortcomings, it has four different roles++ and four positions. The combination of Technical+ and Trickster+ typically works pretty well, so make sure to complete the challenge if you have the fodder. Here are our guides on a few other SBCs that have been released recently.
Assassin's Creed Shadows is almost here, and players can't wait to dive into its intricate story with two protagonists when it launches on March 20.
While Ubisoft has been slowly teasing more details, like a gameplay comparison between Yasuke and Naoe, fans are hyped and eager to learn more without getting major story spoilers.
Since Assassin's Creed is traditionally a story-driven series, AC Shadows is expected to follow that same path. However, one early bonus reward is making some players rethink whether they actually want these extras, as unlocking them comes with unavoidable early-game spoilers.
Assassin's Creed Shadows Twitch Drops could spoil the early game
Ubisoft will offer Twitch Drops for Assassin's Creed Shadows starting on March 18, two days before the game releases. The issue is that to earn these rewards, players must watch three hours of Shadows streams, which means exposing themselves to potential spoilers from the game's opening hours.
"Why the heck would we, who will also play the game watch someone else play it on Twitch?" one player commented on the game's subreddit. "I never really understood twitch drops for story games like AC," a second one agreed.
The rewards are items for Naoe. Since Assassin's Creed Shadows is a large open-world game, some streamers may choose to play through parts with fewer story spoilers, though players will still see parts of the game they might not want to before playing it themselves.
Here is the Twitch drops details...
On March 18th at 6pm GMT watch my stream to earn some in-game rewards
Thankfully, there's a simple way to earn the rewards while avoiding spoilers: just leave a participating stream open in another tab or on a separate device. You can mute the stream or lower the volume and let it run for three hours without watching. This is easy for those of us with zero attention span.
Twitch will still track your watch time, and once you sync your Ubisoft account, you'll receive the rewards when the game launches without seeing any spoilers.
The game will be available at different times depending on your platform and region. Check out our Assassin's Creed Shadows release date and time guide to find out when it will be playable in your time zone, as there are major differences across platforms.
It's very satisfying to pick up a bunch of gold bars in Fortnite and go on a spending spree. If you break gold rock veins, you'll even get a handy speed boost to help you charge toward other players and secure some easy eliminations.
However, you won't find these gold veins just anywhere. Although they spawn often on the map, you'll have to visit specific spots to take full advantage of them. Here's how to find gold veins for your weekly and event quests.
Where to find Gold Veins in Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 2
The best way to find gold veins in Fortnite is to travel around the gold-infused rivers near Crime City and Shiny Shafts. This region on the map's west side has golden mountains, rocks, and water flowing throughout it, with gold vein rocks dotted along the river's edges.
Screenshot by Destructoid
Screenshot by Destructoid
Gold veins appear as dark grey and gold rocks that shimmer as you approach them. Unlike regular boulders, these rocks have much more obvious gold chunks sticking out of them, with small gold sparkles emanating from them. Once you see them, they become pretty easy to spot later.
Each rock has 250 health, so you can quickly break them with your pickaxe or your preferred weapon. Having Gold Rush makes them even easier to break, so you won't have to worry about spending several minutes standing around and hitting rocks.
You'll often find clusters around Crime City and Shiny Shafts' waters, giving you an easy way to complete your weekly quests. The gold veins also drop the Gold Rush buff that boosts your movement speed and around 30 Gold Bars per rock, letting you farm some cash if you plan on visiting a nearby Black Market or vending machine.

Despite the delay of Black Ops 6 Season 3, Call of Duty is still firing on all cylinders with its latest patch. From weapon buffs to critical bug fixes, the update is clearing up lingering issues from Season 2 Reloaded, setting the stage for Verdansk's upcoming return.
Black Ops 6 and Zombies March 10th patch notes put a spotlight on the D1.3 Sector, a weapon that didn't quite hit it off within the CoD community. Initially, players ran into trouble with its camo, "Fast Times," where it just flat out wouldn't track. Fortunately, this update addresses the issue, making the camo challenge grind worthwhile.
Screenshot by Destructoid
On top of the camo tracker fix, the D1.3 Sector's Richochet Blades got some buffs and nerfs to make it more user-friendly. It has the potential to one-hit kill as its damage rates go from 75 to 100. However, it does come at the cost of a lower rate of fire and projectile velocity to balance out its stats.
If you have yet to unlock this secondary weapon, you'll have to earn more XP in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtleevent. This celebration got an extension with this new patch, which will conclude by March 20 at 10 a.m. PT. I'm not too surprised by this change now that Season 3 got pushed back. At least this event will keep the players entertained by then, especially with the additional St. Patrick's Day celebration kicking off.
BO6 Zombies mode also got some much-needed fixes, including a patch for the Belt Fed LMG Mag and Citadelle des Morts' The Guardian boss. The Guardian, in particular, would sometimes negate the effects of the Dying Wish, a perk that essentially gives you three extra revives and temporary immunity. The patch should get it working like usual, helping you with Citadelle des Mort's final boss fight.

As for Warzone, there isn't too much to dig into with the latest update. However, there is a nerf for the Superi 46's attachments, reducing Sprint Speed Benefits for the Bore 99 Short Barrel and Rescue-9 Stock. We'll likely see more improvements and new content for Warzone as we approach the Verdansk re-launch.
Those who want to check out the new features can load into Black Ops 6 and Warzone now. Luckily, it won't take too much storage like most files, so there's no need to stress about clearing your space.
It might be 2025, but Dead by Daylight isn't slowing down in terms of content, and the latest public test has confirmed the perks for Ken Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul.
While the full collaboration will launch on April 2, we have a fair idea about Ken's perks. Additionally, Ken will have powers directly inspired by his powers from the manga, and this guide will help you with all the essential information required to prepare you for the upcoming update.
All Ken Kaneki perks in Dead by Daylight
Ken will have three unique character perks that will be part of Dead by Daylight Chapter 35.
Perk
Effect
How it Works
Forever Entwined
For every token, you can drop and hook a Survivor 4% faster.
With this perk, you get tokens whenever a Survivor takes damage. As you level up the perk, you'll get more tokens from the hits. Having the tokens will allow you to have higher chances of success while chasing Survivors.
None Are Free
All windows and upright pallets are blocked for 12/14/16 seconds.
You get a token when you hook a Survivor for the first time, and get up to a maximum of four. This perks is perfect for trapping Survivors and reduce their escape options.
Hex: Nothing But Misery
Whenever you damage a Survivor during a game with basic attack, they will become Hindered for 5% for 10/12.5/15 seconds
After doing damage to a Survivor, a dull totem becomes a Hex Totem, and puts curses on all Survivors. The debuff is great to eliminate the Survivors gradually over the course of a match.
How to play Dead by Daylight Chapter 35
While Chapter 35 officially launches in April, you can try out the public beta to test Ken and his abilities.
Right-click on the game in your library.
Choose Properties.
Go to Betas.
Select the PTB from the available options.
This will allow you to download the public test beta if you don't have it installed on your system. If you're willing to skip the extra steps, the only alternative is to wait until April 2, when Chapter 35 goes live.

When does Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 2 end?
Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 2 will officially end on May 2, 2025, at 2 a.m. ET. Here are the exact times in various regions:
US Pacific (PDT): 11 p.m. on May 1
US Eastern (EDT): 2 a.m. on May 2
London, UK (GMT): 7 a.m. on May 2
India Standard (IST): 11:30 a.m. on May 2
Japan Standard (JST): 3:00 p.m. on May 2
Australian Eastern Time (AEST): 4:00 p.m. on May 2
New Zealand Standard (NZST): 6:00 p.m. on May 2
Fortnite's servers typically go down for maintenance shortly after a season ends. In most cases, the maintenance lasts around three to four hours, giving you time to prepare for Chapter 6, Season 3 to begin. While occasional delays happen, they don't usually last more than an hour or two, so watch Epic Games' server status page for more updates as the season's end draws closer.
While GTA 6 players are debating on social media whether the rumored $100 price tag is fair—even without seeing the full game yet—a Swiss retailer might have even worse news for those who already think the game is expensive.
Swiss retailer Brack has listed a GTA 6 pre-order page on its website. The store is legitimate, so this isn't just a random listing. According to the product page, the game is priced at $99 Swiss francs, which, as of March 11, converts to about $112.
Screenshot by Destructoid.
The retailer has also answered customer questions on the page, with two common ones being whether this is a real pre-order and whether the price could change. The store was clear—the price is correct for now, and this is the store's pre-order listing for GTA 6.
GTA 6 official preorders are still not live, though
Stores can set up pre-orders however they want, even if they aren't official partners with Rockstar. If you place a GTA 6 pre-order with Brack, it likely means that when the game is released, the store will have your information and send you a copy, but it does not mean Rockstar has confirmed global pre-orders.
It's essentially a reservation to secure a copy in case stock runs out quickly. Unless you live in Switzerland, it's probably not worth paying for this pre-order. And even then, it's an early listing, and we don't know if this price is higher than Rockstar's suggested retailer price for GTA 6.
This situation is similar to what happened with a GTA 6 preorder in Malaysia, where one store independently set up preorders for the game. If more retailers follow suit, we'll likely see more unofficial preorders popping up.
However, at the time of writing, there is no official GTA 6 preorder page on Rockstar's website, as we only have an idea of the game's release window and no exact release date.
This does not confirm GTA 6 will cost $112
The $112 price tag is not an official confirmation of the game's global price. Game prices vary by country for many reasons, including import taxes. In some regions, games are significantly more expensive due to additional costs for retailers.
That said, it's unlikely that taxes alone are the reason for this high price. While this doesn't confirm reports that GTA 6 will cost $100, it does suggest that the game may be more expensive than most current AAA titles.
It's also unclear whether Brack's listing refers to a standard edition or a more expensive deluxe edition. Some retailers offer preorders for special editions before standard versions go live, which could explain the high price.
For now, the only thing guaranteed is that if you pre-order GTA 6 from Brack, you'll pay the equivalent of $112 for a copy. Whether this hints at a higher price in other regions remains uncertain, but it does suggest that GTA 6 may not be as cheap as today's AAA games.
One of the new additions to Fields of Mistria in the second major update is Sprite Statues. They're farm tools, and while they're useful to have around, using them is slightly complicated due to in-game mechanics.
Two new Sprite Statues were added in the update, both of which are incredibly useful, and well worth trying to get. If you want to know how to get them, or how they work, here's everything you need to know.
How to get Sprite Statues in Fields of Mistria
Screenshot by Destructoid
To get the two Sprite Statues and their respective recipes, you'll need to wait until you've reached floor 60 of the Mines and worked your way past the Fire Seal. During the cutscene after this, Caldarus will give you access to a new spell called Dragon's Breath.
The Sprite Statues themselves are located in two previously inaccessible caves, one in The Narrows, and one to the east of the Beach. You've likely seen them previously and wondered how you were supposed to get into them.
Once you've found one of the caves, use the Dragon's Breath spell to break through the rock blocking the way. Dragon's Breath costs two Mana to use, so you might want to make sure you have some Mana Potions on hand so that you don't have to wait days between casts, or otherwise use up all of your Mana.
As well as the Sprite Statue itself, you'll also get a recipe to make more of them and a Small Essence Stone in each cave.
Animal Sprite Statue
Screenshots by Destructoid
The Animal Sprite Statue is located within The Narrows Cave, which can be found next to Errol's house in The Narrows.
The Animal Sprite Statue works as an auto-petter and will negate the need to individually pet your animals each day when it's placed inside a Barn or Coop. Using the Animal Sprite Statue is a great way to continuously increase your friendships with the animals on your Farm, allowing you to gain more worthwhile drops such as Golden cooking ingredients.

The Water Sprite Statue and its recipe are located in the Beach Cave, which can be found by swimming eastwards around the lighthouse on the Beach.
A Water Sprite Statue is, essentially, a sprinkler. When placed in crops, it will water crops within a two-tile radius, so you can get on with other things and not worry about having to water them by hand. This is going to save you a ton of time every day, especially now that you can change the game speed.

Neither Sprite Statue will work without the addition of Essence Stones. These are a new resource that were also added as part of the update, and you'll need to complete the quest to build the Stone Refinery to get them.
Once you've built the Stone Refinery, you'll be able to craft four different sizes of Essence Stones, each of which can power each Sprite Statue for a certain number of days:
Essence Stone size
Recipe
Number of days
Tiny Essence Stone
5 Stone 5 Essence
1 day
Small Essence Stone
10 Stone 25 Essence
5 days
Medium Essence Stone
20 Stone 50 Essence
10 days
Large Essence Stone
40 Stone 100 Essence
20 days
To place an Essence Stone into a Sprite Statue, select it from within your inventory and then approach the Statue. You'll be prompted to place the Stone into the Statue, and it will spring to life once the Stone is in place above its head.
You can check on your Sprite Statues at any time by interacting with them, and a prompt will appear at the bottom of the screen letting you know how long you have until the Essence Stone needs to be replaced.
The second major update for Fields of Mistria added something players have been asking for since it launched in early access last year: the ability to own pets. Farming chickens and cows is fun, but there's an astronomical difference between animal husbandry and sharing your home with a furry friend.
If pets were just household companions who brought a healthy dose of unconditional love into your life, that'd be enough to make them outstanding additions to Fields of Mistria. However, pets can also help you gather resources around town, which gives you more time to tend your farm, delve into the mines, or check in with your neighbors.

Your fateful first meeting with your pet begins the first time you fall asleep after installing the second update. As you sleep, a "familiar presence" approaches you, and you can choose whether it's a cat or a dog and what color its fur is. Once you've made this impossible decision, you can select the little one's name and gender pronouns. After you've done this, the dream ends.
As soon as you step outside your house the next day, your new companion will roll up like they own the place. After an introductory head-pat, they move in and make themselves at home. I'm no gambler, but the whole "appearing before me in a dream" thing leads me to believe there's more to this furry friend than meets the eye.

Once your new pet settles in, you can task them with gathering resources from the areas around Mistria. This is one of the many ways the latest update has made it easier for Fields of Mistria players to manage their time. Here's how to assign your pet a resource to collect in Fields of Mistria.
Open the menu by hitting the Escape key or the + button
Scroll over to the animals tab.
Open your pet's page.
Click the "Gather Resources" button at the bottom of their page. It's the one with the little chest icon on it.
Choose whether you want your pet to gather Wood, Stone, or Foragables.
Once you've assigned your pet a resource to collect, they'll go out and get to work. If you want to check on them, you can find them in the southern quadrant of Mistria, gathering their assigned resources from a small, designated area. Once the sun dips, they'll return home and drop their collected resources on the floor.
Like your farm animals, your pets loathe rain, so they won't do their job when the weather gets cloudy. If you haven't been checking the forecast with your Crystal Ball lately, now's the perfect time to get back into the habit. It's better to take a second to plan than to put all your eggs in an adorable furry basket.
Microsoft may be bringing Xbox to a handheld device soon. The idea of an Xbox handheld has been teased and briefly mentioned by Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer for months.
Speculation began in 2024 when Spencer touched on the possibility of Microsoft working on an Xbox handheld. The success of Valve's Steam Deck showed that a handheld gaming device could thrive outside of Nintendo, which has dominated the handheld space for decades with systems like the Game Boy, Nintendo DS and, more recently, the Nintendo Switch.
Now, with more companies entering the handheld market, including Sony with the hybrid PlayStation Portal, it looks like Microsoft is ready to make its own attempt.
This came months after Spencer first hinted at the idea during an interview in June 2024, where he mentioned that a handheld Xbox was something worth exploring. Now, it's clear that development is underway.
Phil Spencer talking on the Xbox podcast. Screenshot via Destructoid.
While it's already possible to play Xbox Game Pass titles on the Steam Deck, Spencer seems to be referring to a full-fledged console, something like the Nintendo Switch, where players can buy and play offline games, not just stream through the cloud.
A cloud-only handheld wouldn't be a major advantage, as players can already set some things up to access the Xbox Game Pass on devices like the Steam Deck.
Xbox's handheld is not a Series X|S successor
Despite the excitement, reports indicate that Microsoft's handheld device, codenamed "Keenan", will not replace the Xbox Series X|S. It won't be the next-generation Xbox, and its release won't make the Series X or S obsolete.
Until then, it looks like Microsoft's handheld console is set for a 2025 release, according to reports, though no exact date has been announced.
Xbox has traditionally released its consoles in November. With the Nintendo Switch 2 set to launch in 2025 as a direct competitor to Xbox's handheld, Microsoft may time its release to avoid going head-to-head with Nintendo's next console.
It's still unclear whether the handheld will simply play existing Xbox Series X|S games, if it will have exclusive titles, or how development will be structured. But as Microsoft moves forward, we'll likely learn more soon.
WWE 2K25's MyFaction mode can be a huge grind if you don't have cards of higher rarities, but the ability to evolve some of your existing items will certainly help you in the process.
While the evolution method is exclusive to the MyFaction mode, it can benefit all game modes. The cards that you evolve can help you unlock wrestlers (and more) that can become useable in the general roster. This guide will help you to understand how evolution works and which cards can be improved over time.
WWE 2K25 Superstar Evolutions explained
Every wrestler card in MyFaction belongs to a certain rarity, starting from Bronze. The lower the rarity, the weaker its stats are. Cards that can evolve will improve their rarity and in-game stats. It's easy to identify cards that can evolve, as they have DNA symbols on their left side.
If you check out the screenshot below, you'll notice that specific tasks are shown on my screen. Once you complete all three tasks, your card will evolve to the next tier (Sapphire, in the case of Bronson Reed).
Image via Destructoid
The number of tasks that you have to complete can also vary. Usually, cards can evolve by only one tier, but it's still handy for improving your Faction. Getting higher-tier cards at the start of your MyFaction adventures is hard, so having a card that can upgrade by at least one rarity will be helpful.
For starters, we all receive two cards that can be upgraded. One will belong to men's wrestling and one to women's wrestling. I am sure we will get plenty more upgradeable cards in the future, as some are also available in the packs.
Certain wrestlers also have Persona cards available in the game, and you can get them to unlock alternative appearances for your superstars. Make sure to check this guide out to learn more about how to get all the available Persona cards in WWE 2K25.
With so many animals and crops to place on your farm in Fields of Mistria, it can be easy to run out of space, and that's without taking into account decoration just to make it look pretty.
As part of the second major update, Fields of Mistria now gives players the option to expand their farm, adding a whole new second area across the river to the right-hand side of the farm. You can use this land just as you already do the main farm, filling it with decor, animals, or crops as you see fit.
How to get the Farm Expansion in Fields of Mistria
Screenshot by Destructoid
The Farm Expansion is now available to purchase at the Carpenter's Shop in the northern section of The Eastern Road. It's not a cheap addition, and you'll need to reach Town Rank 55 before you can do it.
Once you hit Town Rank 55, you'll be able to complete the quest to unlock the Stone Refinery. This is necessary to get one of the main resources needed when purchasing the Farm Expansion, and it can't be obtained in any other way.
To purchase the Farm Expansion, you'll need the following resources:
50 Refined Stone
Made at the Stone Refinery using 10 Stone each, for a total of 500 Stone
50 Hard Wood
Obtained when removing Large Stumps, or from chopping down trees within the Deep Woods
Once you have these resources, you'll also need a whopping 40,000 Tesserae to complete the purchase, which you can do by interacting with the sales board in the Carpenter's Shop and selecting "Farm Expansion" at the bottom.
When you complete the purchase, you'll also be given a Starter Farm Bridge that can be used anywhere along the river on the eastern side of your farm, and a recipe to make more bridges if one is not sufficient for your river-crossing needs.
How to move farm buildings in Fields of Mistria
Screenshot by Destructoid
With so much more space, you'll likely want to rejig the contents of your farm to make better use of the space. If you want to move your barns around, you'll need to put all of your animals into Daycare at Sweetwater Farm.
To do this, head to Hayden's Farm Shop and select Daycare from the menu at the Sales Board. You can select which animals are moved into daycare, and when all of your farm buildings are empty, you can head back and start demolishing.
This sounds dramatic, but demolishing the barn will return all of the resources you used when building it, allowing you to reposition the building and put the resources back in to complete the building process.
The only building you cannot move (for now) is the farmhouse itself.
Have you ever encountered a Golden Llama in Fortnite's modes? Although regular llamas occasionally appear as rare loot sources, golden versions are almost unheard of except during various events. Considering Chapter 6, Season 2 is all about gold, this one feels particularly fitting.
How to find Golden Llamas in Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 2
Golden Llamas are rare loot containers that spawn randomly around Fortnite's map. Since they have random spawns, there's no one specific location to camp if you wish to find them as part of a weekly quest or event. Instead, your goal is to survive as long as possible and move around the map in hopes of spotting one of these in the wild.
Screenshot by Destructoid
Golden Llamas appear as a goofy-looking gold llama that's slightly smaller than the player's model. If you're familiar with the game's rainbow versions from previous seasons, they look almost the exact same with a distinct color change.
Since Golden Llamas can spawn anywhere, there's a chance you'll encounter them in strange spots like the sides of cliffs, near the edge of the map, or on top of massive mountains. I even found one of a cliff's edge that I could barely navigate, making it a little tricky to search it for loot. Sometimes, it requires a bit of trial and error.
If you're focused on completing your quests and don't mind risking a loss or two, you can start gliding from the Battle Bus immediately after jumping out to help you search for Golden Llamas from a bird's-eye view. Although you won't reach the ground as quickly, you might get lucky and spot one from the skies, letting you drop to its exact spot and claim it before someone else accidentally stumbles upon it. Otherwise, you can just play your matches normally and hope you find one by chance.
If there is a game with many different and barely legible error codes, it's Destiny 2. Players have experienced problems with "this version is no longer available" for a while, but what does it mean exactly, and how do we fix it? Let's take a look.
What is the "this version is no longer available" error
First of all, let's make it clear that chances are this error is most likely on Bungie's side. It appears after the developers make a new version of the game available online because they fixed a bug or an issue, the so-called "hotfix".
Hence, your PC is not using the "latest" version of the Destiny 2 game. The issue is caused by a problem communicating with the servers. It often happens that after a hotfix goes live, Bungie still hasn't put the servers back online or has delayed the reboot of the servers for a while.
Screenshot by Destructoid
So if you try to connect during that time, you will get "this version is no longer available," which is often different from the generic "servers offline" error. But it has been happening frequently that the Destiny 2 servers are kept offline for longer than in the past(the usual 15-minute window).
As opposed to the generic CAT error, the "version no longer available" doesn't mean you have failed to download the new updated version of Destiny 2, so you don't have to reinstall the game or keep checking for updates.
If you are sure your internet connection is working correctly, the only sure way to fix this problem seems to be to wait (though we do have potential fixes for prolonged issues below).
Monitor the official Bungie Help X account where the developers give regular updates on maintenance times and other issues if you're unsure, and keep an eye on the Bungie website for updates.
How to fix "this version is no longer available" error?
This error seems to have started with The Final Shape update, especially when trying to access the servers too early. But it keeps appearing, given that Bungie can't get the servers back up fast enough after a reboot.
Image via X
If you are sure the servers are back up and you are still facing the same issue, there are a couple of things you can try. The first is clearing your console cache:
Turn off your console.
Once you are sure the console is off, unplug the power cord from the back.
Let it sit as it is for about 5-10 minutes.
Plug the console back and power it on.
Try to re-launch Destiny 2.
If that doesn't fix things, you can restore the licenses of your game, which is different from platform to platform, but basically, it is about checking if you still own the game.
This is how it's done on PlayStation 4 and 5:
Go to Settings.
Open "Users and Accounts" or "account management"
Check "Restore Licenses".
Wait for the console to finish.
On Steam and Xbox you can't really restore licenses, but you can re-download the content to make sure that it is still correctly registered to your library. If you are not seeing Destiny 2 correctly in your library, Bungie recommends contacting Xbox or Steam support to resolve the issue.

If you're still unsure about which edition to purchase, make sure to check this guide out. It will help you narrow down your choice according to your requirements and budgets. The early access is certainly a big benefit for those who are looking to jump in early to test all the available modes.
Avowed may not offer a plethora of choices when it comes to classes, but your hand is certainly not limited. In fact, I really like the class system and how it operates, and Obsidian has used a similar setup in their other titles.
You can pick between Fighter, Ranger, and Wizard, and all of them have their unique playstyles (including abilities). All three classes have their own strengths and weaknesses, so it's important for you to pick a style that you'll enjoy.
Avowed Class tier list
I have used two tiers to classify the three available classes. The S-tier represents the very best class you can currently use in Avowed, while the A-tier classes are marginally off the top. An A-tier class is still good, and they're still strong and worthy of your consideration if you want to use them. Additionally, the effectiveness of all three tiers will largely depend on the types of weapons being used, and how well you can execute your abilities.
S-tier classes in Avowed
The Fighter class is the only S-tier entrant in Avowed, and the choice might confuse you. At first glance, this class and its abilities will appear to be extremely simple. However, the Fighter class is ideal for beginners and veterans alike, and its abilities pack a mighty punch.
I love the Fighter class due to how easy it is to use the abilities. At Level 1, you have Constant Recovery and Toughness, which makes the early game easier to deal with. Abilities like Devastating Criticals and Brawn can be unlocked at Level 5.
With the Fighter class, you'll be very hard to kill on one hand and yield great offensive potential on the other. If you want a bear of your own, you can summon that at Level 15.
Image via Xbox Game Studios
A-tier classes in Avowed
In the A-tier, you get to pick between the Wizard and Ranger. I personally loved the Wizard class more in between them, and it's the best offensive class to play. However, the biggest difficulty of this class is its defense. Unlike the Fighter, the Wizard doesn't have a natural means of defense, so you'll have to rely heavily on your dodges.
That said, the offensive abilities make up for the weak defense and the Wizard offers the best level of choice when picking damage types. The Ranger, on the other hand, is a more traditional option.
Screenshot by Destructoid
The Ranger class is easily the hardest one to master, as the amount of damage you can deal depends entirely on your ability to land skill shots. To do so, you'll want to use the Steady Aim ability at Level 1 and Marksmanship at Level 5. Together, these two abilities will make it easier for you to aim and do more damage from a longer distance.
Interestingly, certain abilities also improve your efficiency and damage potential with melee weapons. I strongly believe that it's best to take a hybrid approach if you're opting for the Archer class. Ultimately, you'll want to use the best possible builds to make the most of your selected classes in Avowed.
If you loved Anime Waves X or Arise Crossover, then you'll love this latest anime-themed auto battler experience. I'd say it's even better and more polished than the aforementioned games, but that's just my 2c. To help you get the most out of it, I prepped the ultimate Anime SpiritsJourney beginner's guide. You'll find out everything about the mechanics, Anime Spirits Journey codes and more.
Don't worry, our Anime Spirits Journey beginner's guide won't be like a PhD thesis in rocket science. We're just going to cover what you need to get started, as well as the basics for farming, getting new Pets and more. Let's start from ground zero, shall we?
Anime Spirits Journey Codes
Screenshot by Destructoid
First and foremost, you're going to need Anime Spirits Journey codes. Sure, going in raw can be feasible, but why not enjoy some of these perks:
RELEASE: 2x Yen potion, 2x Damage potion, 2x XP potion, 70 gems
Sapphire: 50 Sapphires
Update1: 1x Yen potion, 1x Damage potion, 60 gems
Anime Spirits Journey Mechanics
The crux of our Anime Spirits Journey beginner's guide, this involves the whole gameplay loop. In short, everything revolves around.
Farming mobs. Throughout Piece Village and other areas, you'll find mobs, that are either Easy, Medium, Hard, Mini-Boss and Boss. The stronger the mob, the higher the rewards.
Getting as much Yen as possible. Yen is important for buying Eggs to unlock Pets, getting to the next island and just about everything else.
Screenshot by Destructoid
Unlocking better Pets. The easiest way to advance fast is to replace your existing Pets with better ones. You can do this by applying the previous two methods but don't gamble everything away. The Epic and Legendary Pets have.
Screenshot by Destructoid
Getting potions. Sure, grinding can be tedious, but if you boost your XP gathering, Yen accumulations, and damage dealt, you'll zip across islands much more easily.
Screenshot by Destructoid
Controls
If you've ever played an auto-battler experience before, you'll find the set of controls is familiar and easy to memorize:
Screenshot by Destructoid
What I like about Anime Spirits Journey is that the controls are perma-stickied to the lower left part of the screen, but also any active potions and how long they have until expiry. It's easy to get lost in the heat of the fight, so good work by the devs.
Inventory Management & Items in Anime Spirits Journey
Although buying as many Eggs as possible and cracking them open until you get a Legendary trio is the goal, you won't be able to do it right away. There's a limit of 50 Pets in your Bag.
Screenshot by Destructoid
I like how the devs thought of this as well by adding an auto-seller feature. I always choose to auto-sell Common and Uncommon Pets, while others are considered for my main roster or as a backup.
How to Get Yen Fast in Anime Spirits Journey
The best way to get Yen fast is probably the most important part of this Anime Spirits Journey beginner's guide. If you get things wrong in the beginning, you'll be in for a bad time, no matter how many friends you bring along. So, to get Yen fast, you need to:
Defeat the mini-boss first. You'll be tempted to go after the Easy mobs. Don't. The mini-boss will give you the most Yen in the beginning, which is enough to get at least two Uncommon Pets. You'll need 180 Yen for 2 triple rolls.
Screenshot by Destructoid
Aim for Three Legendary Pets. This is the optimal combination for leveling, as well as getting the most damage out of your Pets. Likewise, don't spend all of your money and always leave at least 200 Yen.
Screenshot by Destructoid
Grind the Bosses until you're ready to go to Namek Island. Believe it or not, it's that easy. The big boss by the Global Leaderboards drops 800-2,000 Yen, and this can go even higher if you pop a Potion.
Screenshot by Destructoid
This simple, but still grindy gameplay loop should get you through the first area of the game. But how do you advance to Namek Island exactly?
How to Get to Namek Island in Anime Spirits
If you want to go from Piece Village to Namek Island, you'll need to save up exactly 30,000 Yen. Once you have the money, go to the entrance in the middle of town, right by the first mini-boss.
Screenshot by Destructoid
Confirm you want to go to Namek Island, and you're good to go. Repeat the same gameplay loop, and you'll easily reach the global top 10 if not top 5. The game is still very early in its lifecycle, so it's the right time to pounce.
And that should do it for this Anime Spirits Journey beginner's guide. Using a known format, the game brings a fun, but still polished loop I found myself enjoying. And if you agree, you might want to check some of our other Roblox content to keep the hype train going.
Wondering how to use Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O? As you complete your first few runs in R.E.P.O, you'll encounter a shop where you can buy upgrades, weapons, and more. If you're wondering what Energy Crystals are and if they're worth your time, see the full explainer below.
What are Energy Crystals used for in R.E.P.O?
Energy Crystals are used to recharge almost all weapons in the game, including non-electric things like the baseball bat and inflatable hammer.
You can buy these from within the shop in between levels/ They are yellow in color and usually priced anywhere between $7k to $14k.
When equipping a weapon, you'll see a white bar beneath its icon at the bottom of the screen. This tells you how much charge the item has available. Once all the bars are gone, the item cannot be used again until recharged with an Energy Crystal.
How to use Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O
Luckily, it's a simple process to use Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O. Simply buy a Crystal from the shop, like any other item or upgrade. Once you return to your ship, you will find a crystal station on the right side. Here, you can pick up weapons and drop them in the little bin to the left of the machine. This will charge the weapon up and it is ready for use again.
Energy Crystals have a limited supply and will break once depleted. You'll need to buy more, therefore, to keep recharging your weapons. Although it may be tempting to spend all your money on mines and grenades, it's a far better investment to save up for a powerful weapon and buy Energy Crystals to keep it charged.
Now you should be all set to use Energy Crystals and keep your weapons in working order. For more R.E.P.O tips and tricks, see our guide to finding a game group to play with.
One of the biggest draws of any cozy game is the possibility of befriending and even romancing one of the NPCs. Fields of Mistria is no different, and as of the second major update, players can now fully befriend the dragon-esque Caldarus.
Caldarus has, technically, been in Fields of Mistria from the very beginning, as a statue on the farm who absorbs our essence and allows us to gain Skill Perks to work our way through the story. However, he's now a fully fledged and mostly human character for players to get close to.
To find Caldarus, you'll first need to work your way through unlocking the Fire Seal at level 60 of the Mines. Once you've gathered up all of the necessary resources and placed them onto their pedestals, Caldarus will appear after things go a little bit wrong.
At first, he'll be in his dragon form, watching over you and trying to help when you get trapped in a glowing circle. However, when you prove unresponsive, Caldarus will transform into his more human form to help you. Sadly, he uses up most of his remaining essence in the process and then heads off to his shine in the Deep Woods.
Screenshot by Destructoid
So now you need to get into the Deep Woods, which you can do using the Dragon's Breath spell Caldarus bestowed upon you before he left the Mines. Head up to the north of The Eastern Road and use the Dragon's Breath spell to burn through the wall of thorns, gaining access to the new area.
Inside the Deep Woods, Caldarus will always be in or around his Shrine in the northeast. You'll need to break through a large stump blocking your way each day when you want to visit. At first, he'll be in bed recovering, but he'll slowly gain his strength and get back on his feet.
Caldarus gift guide
As with all other villagers of Mistria, once Caldarus is in his human(ish) form, you can talk to him regularly throughout the day and give him a daily gift. If you want to grow as close to him as possible, you'll need to know what gifts will gain you the most friendship points when given to him. The good news is that he automatically has 6 hearts of friendship, so you've got a beefy headstart to the process.
It should come as no surprise that, having spent a very long time trapped as a statue, Caldarus is hungry. As such, most of his favored gifts are food-based. If you don't want to cook these, you can find them for sale from time to time at the Inn, Balor's Wagon, or Darcy's Stall at the Weekend Market.
Some of them also drop when harvesting ingredients that have been grown on the Farm.
If you want Caldarus to grow a soft spot for you, you'll need to avoid giving him any of the universally hated gifts, and any of the following specific items:
Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 2 has numerous peculiar weapons, from the Sub-Zero Combat Kit to Big Dill's favorite, the Pump & Dump. Acting as both a shotgun and SMG, the Pump & Dump gives you a two-in-one special at the cost of using a bunch of ammo.
Where to find Pump and Dump in Fortnite
You can find the Pump & Dump shotgun-SMG-mix as chest loot, floor spawns, and player elimination drops during your Fortnite matches. At any point during your match, you can find this gun — usually as a rare-grade drop — like you would any other weapon.
Screenshot by Destructoid
Although the rarity of the Pump & Dump weapon varies, you'll usually find it as a rare-tier gun glowing blue. This makes it relatively common compared to epic, legendary, and Mythic-grade variants, but you won't necessarily see it everywhere. However, I tend to have much better luck finding this in Ranked mode than unranked, so it's worth a quick swap if you've yet to encounter this weapon.
How to find a Mythic Pump and Dump in Fortnite
Screenshot by Destructoid
Alongside regular chest and floor drops, you can find a Mythic-grade Pump & Dump weapon at the Crime City Black Market for one Dill Bit. Upon running in and approaching the spot Skillet hovers around, you'll spot a display case containing the Mythic Pump & Dump to buy at any point during your match. This one is, unsurprisingly, much more powerful than its rare-tier counterpart but is far more challenging to obtain.
Since you need Dill Bits, you'll have to break into one of Fletcher Kane's vaults or armored vehicles to claim some of these coins before venturing to Crime City's Black Market and claiming the item. There's a high chance you'll find other players along the way, so watch your surroundings in case someone tries to initiate an unexpected fight.
Subterra is a pretty unique game (if you've never played the Steam World Dig series), and it can be daunting to figure out what you're actually supposed to do. To help you progress through the mines and biomes, we made this robust yet simple guide to help you along the way. If you're just starting out with Subterra, you should find everything you need in this Ultimate Subterra Beginner's Guide.
This should be your highest priority in the game. Whenever you can, upgrade your Backpack and Pickaxe. Not only that, but every time you start working on a new upgrade, make sure you pin the materials needed to the side (talk to the Backpack Upgrade and the Blacksmith NPC and select the pin option to do so). Working towards your next upgrade is also a great way to tell how deeper into the mines you need to go.
How to fast travel in Subterra
Screenshot by Destructoid
One very convenient feature in Subterra is your ability to quickly go back to the surface and back into the mines again. Simply select the "To Surface" option above your health bar (bottom left corner). You can also use the "To Mines" option while on the surface, but it won't teleport you back to the exact same location you were while in the mines. Later into the game, you'll also unlock the ability to fast travel using portals.
How to rank up in Subterra
Screenshot by Destructoid
Ranking up in Subterra is similar to prestiging in video games. During each rank, you have a level cap you need to reach. When you do, you pretty much have to rank up in order to proceed. This resets your level back to 1, gives you some Chrono Shards, but it also raises your level cap a bit. Every two levels, you also get an extra ability slot.
Your level cap is always: Your current rank X 5. Currently, the max rank is 11. While it may seem annoying to level up your character from the beginning every time you use this, you still get to keep all your items, and you'll eventually get to grow stronger, so try not to let it bother you too much.
How to get Chrono Shards in Subterra

Chrono Shards are something of a premium currency in Subterra. Even though you can buy them using Robux, you can also earn a bunch just by playing the game, and here's how:
Ranking up - Each time you rank up you get a few
Completing all Daily Quests (and certain regular Quests)
Chorono Shards are used to draw new ability cards from the Chrono Crystal, which give you new passive abilities.
Where to find Copper / Tin / Iron / Silver / Gold / Platinum in Subterra
Screenshot by Destructoid
If you can't find a certain type of raw ore needed for the next upgrade, it usually means you need to go deeper. The order in which you find the ores are as follows:
Copper - Tin - Iron - Silver - Gold - Platinum - Cobalt - Chromium - Titanium - Wolframite
However, if you fall down pretty deep and see Gold, but you are looking for Iron, you've gone too deep (so climb back up a few steps).
How to get Gems, Shards, and Crystals in Subterra
Screenshot by Destructoid
Unlike raw ore, Gems, Shards, and Crystals are pretty rare and somewhat difficult to find. They can appear anywhere on the map. The most effective way to find them is to open any chests you come across and hope you get the one you need inside. This worked for us better than looking for them by digging.
Which item should I always take with me in Subterra?
Screenshot by Destructoid
Wooden Ladder. Seriously, we can't count the number of times we found something cool but couldn't reach it because we didn't have a Wooden Ladder or a few of them. Always carry 5 - 10 of these, just in case.
What is the Collapse in Subterra?
Screenshot by Destructoid
The Collapse in Subterra is when the entire mine resets and players need to dig back down again. Because Subterra is a multiplayer game, any player can dig almost any block until eventually there would be nothing left to dig through. To prevent this, the Colapse resets the entire mine, along with all blocks, chests, and everything else.
That's all there is to it. Have fun digging and progressing in Subterra. If you want to stay up to date with the game's development, check out the Subterra Trello and Discord.
If you want to experience free games on Steam, there is, thankfully, a lot that the store has to offer. You can gallivant with your friends on hostile planets in PlanetSide 2 or message your love interest friend in a pseudo-AOL Messenger in Emily is Away.
The best free games on Steam offer a ton of content and have as few restrictions as possible. These 20 titles certainly do that in spades. The monthly active users are based on Steam Charts' stats from the past 30 days.
Apex Legends

Steam release date: November 4, 2020
Publisher: EA
Monthly active players: 97,703
One of the best battle royales in the market right now is Apex Legends. It provides the high-precision gunplay from Titanfall 2and brings it into the competitive battle royale space. Sliding down hills and using each hero's powers is satisfying to perform in the game.
You'll have many intense moments as you contend against opposing teams, and the game provides many opportunities to fail or succeed. The free-to-play model is a little on the expensive side if you want cosmetics and more characters, but playing from the base roster is also entertaining to start off with in Apex Legends .

If you're annoyed you can't play Super Smash Bros. on PC, check out Brawlhalla. It features a smooth platform fighter experience that plays great online. It also has a vibrant cast of characters to choose from. Many will be locked behind payments or in-game progression, but there is a regularly updated free rotation of characters to choose from. One of the game's unique strategic elements is switching two weapons available to each player. Each weapon's move set is radically different, and you'll need to decide which option best suits the situation.

Deku can pick up allies and run fast to get away from enemies. Meanwhile, Cementoss creates stone walls to protect his team and keep the enemy team distracted.

Emily is Away

Steam release date: November 20, 2015
Publisher: Kyle Seeley
Monthly active players: 12
Emily is Awayis a nostalgic journey back into the Windows XP era of communication. There was no Facebook, TikTok, or Instagram. Instead, you used to chat on AOL Instant Messenger. This unique storytelling device isn't just a gimmick, however.
There's a beautifully told narrative about two friends who have grown apart from each other since high school and are trying to reconnect. Despite zero voice acting, all the emotional beats are there, as you await Emily's response. Try this one-hour game out when you can. It's one of the best free games on Steam.
Guild Wars 2

Can't afford Final Fantasy XIV Online or don't want to bother with the Battle.net client on PC for World of Warcraft? Guild Wars 2 is a good third option for an MMO. You can play the entirety of the engaging core campaign for free. However, there are restrictions you should keep in mind, like locked content until you reach a certain level. Despite that one fault, Guild Wars 2 offers a stunning world enriched with entertaining MMORPG gameplay.
Farlight 84

Steam release date: September 21, 2023
Publisher: Farlight Games
Monthly active players: 1,160
Tired of Fortnite and want something new? Farlight 84 may be your antidote. It blends the art style of Epic Games' battle royale and mixes it with the ability-based system of Apex Legends.
The result is a solid shooter that impresses new fans of the game and isn't even out of Early Access yet. The weapons feel heavy and powerful, and the overall environments look pleasing to the eye. Just turn off the voice acting; it's pretty bad!
Disney Speedstorm

Steam release date: April 18, 2023
Publisher: Gameloft
Monthly active players: 253
Want a fun Mario Kart-like game without having to resort to emulation? Disney Speedstorm is a great free-to-play substitute. The tracks are immaculately designed and based on the films we know and love like Lilo & Stitch, Aladdin, and Pirates of the Caribbean. You'll avoid pillars of fire within the Cave of Wonders and giant tentacles from sea monsters in Port Royal.
While the items are disappointingly generic for a Disney game like this, there is a neat alternate use for most of them by holding down the button. For example, with a boost (mushroom), you can hold it to get three smaller bursts of speed rather than just one. Read my review for more information.
Marvel Snap

Steam release date: August 22, 2023
Publisher: Nuverse
Monthly active players: 3,589
Everyone knows and loves the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so a card game based on the property could be a cheap cash-in. Fortunately, Marvel Snap is a cherished title for fans of card games, and it's free to play. "At work and at home, I just can't put it down," said CJ Andriessen in his review. "With its structure and speed, it doesn't feel as tactical as some of the other card games I've played, but it finds a way to be satisfying in its brevity." Each match in Marvel Snap also only lasts for three or so minutes, as opposed to Hearthstone, making this quick and easy to play.
Path of Exile

Path of Exile, despite it being a free Steam game, is an excellent alternative to the Diablo series if you crave more ARPG goodness. It features a tonne of passives to unlock through the huge skill tree system. It also includes plenty of classes, including the Duelist, Marauder, Ranger, Scion, Shadow, Templar, and Witch. Path of Exilewill offer hours upon hours of content for the low, low price of $0, and it also has PvP modes like tournaments and Capture The Flag.
Team Fortress 2

Steam release date: October 10, 2007
Publisher: Valve
Monthly active players: 43,904
A cherished multiplayer game for many Team Fortress 2 is an absolute classic. This team-based shooter has you playing different roles. One can be the Heavy, dealing a lot of damage with his mini-gun. Another player can send out Sentries and Teleporters throughout the map as the Engineer. There are many options available, so you can find the right playstyle. Despite the game being over a decade old, it still holds up visually with a cartoony art style. Give it a go if you haven't already.
The Sims 4

You also grow relationships with other sims by hanging out with them and performing a variety of activities in the community.
All of this is now free to play on Steam, so go ahead and download The Sims 4 if you want a chill simulation game to play.
Warframe

Steam release date: March 25, 2013
Publisher: Digital Extremes
Monthly active players: 53,153
It's been a decade, but Warframe still pulls in players today. This game is extremely fast with powerful guns and delightful swordplay. It's been supported thoroughly by developer Digital Extremes. The game added an open world, and there is spaceship warfare to be had. The art style is also unabashedly strange as it embellishes its sci-fi genre with pride.
Omega Strikers

Steam release date: September 16, 2022
Publisher: Odyssey Interactive
Monthly active players: 255
The precision of the MOBA gameplay of League mixed with the sport of soccer doesn't sound like a great mix, but Omega Strikers certainly proved me wrong. Each character has their own skills to master while you're trying to score a goal.
You can even take out your foes with your abilities by striking them out of the arena. The graphics are gorgeous, the concept really comes through, and the head-bump-worthy music will keep your heart racing. Check this game out!
Dark & Darker
Image via IRONMACE
Steam release date: June 7, 2024
Publisher: IRONMACE
Monthly active players: 10,065
Those who like sickeningly hard games will find comfort in Dark & Darker. In a D&D-like dungeon, you're exploring an ancient citadel thwart with many dangers. You'll be taking on tough monsters and making your way through the depths of this citadel to get the treasure you're seeing.
You can play as a barbarian, a ranger, and a bard in a three-person squad as you turn off lights to get away from enemy detection and utilize magic to gain the upper hand. The game is currently in early access, but it has a Mostly Positive score on Steam right now.
Marvel Rivals
Image via Netease Games
Steam release date: December 6, 2024
Publisher: Netease Games
Monthly active players: 207,840
Marvel Rivals is the latest game to take the world by storm with its well-designed suite of characters based on the comic book property. This third-person shooter/action multiplayer hybrid takes the heroes we know and love and has them work as a team. Luna Snow and Jeff the Land Shark heal the group (or freeze enemies in Luna's case), while guys like The Hulk and The Thing pummel the competition.
With fantastic visuals and exciting stages to explore, Marvel Rivals is a fantastic multiplayer game to get into. All of the characters are free, and sometimes skins are even offered for completing event missions. It's been called an Overwatch killer by many fans in the space.
Faaast Penguin
Image via historia Inc
Steam release date: September 20, 2024
Publisher: historia Inc
Monthly active players: 276
While Faaast Penguin isn't super active with 276 active players over the past 30 days, this little multiplayer game does have its fans. It's a rush to race against other players in frenetic courses as you're going down sledding as a penguin. You can also find shortcuts to help you beat fellow penguins in the race.
The visuals are bright, colorful, and charming to look at. It's also cross-play, so you can race your friends who are on consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. As you're playing the game, you'll gain a bunch of different outfits along the way. Keep in mind, however, that you'll need an Epic account to play this game, even on Steam.
Smite 2
Image via Hi-Rez Studios
Steam release date: August 27, 2024
Publisher: Hi-Rez Studios
Monthly active players: 13,400
Smite 2 is a continuation of the epic MOBA in Unreal Engine 5 rather than the old UE3 that the series has been plagued with for a long time. To me, this MOBA is much more accessible with its third-person camera and action-game-like setting than a top-down view. Despite that, it features the strategy you expect from the genre.
Ymir is an awesome tank that can freeze enemies in place and put up ice walls to stop them from getting away. Smite 2 revolves around Gods of different mythologies brawling it out, and it's fun to see how Hi-Rez Studios and the developer Titan Forge Games are inspired by the classic tales. Like Faaast Penguin, there is cross-play between all versions of the game, so no one will be left out.
Sky: Children of the Light

Steam release date: April 10, 2024
Publisher: thatgamecompany
Monthly active players: 5,679
If you want a gaming experience a little less intense than Smite 2 or Marvel Rivals, Sky: Children of Light might be the answer. The developer of Journey and Flower, thatgamecompany has created a gorgeous multiplayer title that has you solving puzzles with friends and flying through seven stunning biomes with them. The aim of the game is to free your ancestors' spirits from the darkness and heal them. They can then be sent to their home among the stars above.
While you're going through this peaceful experience, you can unlock all manner of cosmetics that will make you stand out in this social MMO. Our original review for the mobile version said that the game is "blissful, imaginative, and a sight to behold."
Throne and Liberty

Steam release date: October 1, 2024
Publisher: Amazon Games
Monthly active players: 20,386
Throne and Liberty shows how far free-to-play games have come, in terms of scale and beautiful graphics. Developed by the studio that made Guild Wars, this action RPG has you exploring the open world of Solisium. It features a mix of PvP and PvE, and the battles you take part in can be affected by the weather and time of day, alongside other players who may fight you during key moments of the game.
Our review gave Throne and Liberty an impressive 8.5/10 score, comparing the game to classic eras of World of Warcraft and EverQuest. "Throne and Liberty feels like a step back in the right direction for MMORPGs, reviving a lot of the social features that seem to be missing from modern entries in the genre," the writer said. "While you can certainly still play solo, T&L gives you the opportunity to socialize and play with others in every aspect of its gameplay, even while leveling."
Throughout Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2, you'll rob trains, break into bank vaults, and dive into black markets to acquire their wares. Along the way, you'll hear about special Mythic and Exotic-grade weapons that, although expensive, can easily secure you a win if you get them early.
How to find Outlaw Exotic and Mythic weapons in Fortnite
Most of Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2's Outlaw Mythic and Exotic weapons are available after completing the game's Outlaw Keycard Community quests. After the community robs enough vaults to finish the quest, you'll unlock another set of objectives that level up your keycard rarity. An Uncommon-grade keycard lets you accessFortnite's Black Market backrooms to purchase Mythic and Exotic weapons.
Screenshot by Destructoid
Since the Outlaw Keycard quest is a community mission, you and everyone who plays Fortnite must try your best to rob as many vaults and cases as possible to reach 100 percent. From here, completing the second quest set lets you upgrade your keycard, unlock the backrooms, and spend Dill Bits on the game's strongest items. Here's a list of some weapons you can obtain:
Lawless Slap Cannon
Lawless Blink Pump & Dump
Lawless Stink Rifle
Lawless Shockwave Rocket Launcher
Lawless Trinity Assault Rifle
Lawless Heavy Impact Tracking Rifle
Although these backrooms have most of the high-value Mythic and Exotic weapons we're looking for, you'll also find additional Mythic-grade items in the Black Markets themselves. Crime City now features a Mythic Pump & Dump weapon, while Seaport City still has a Mythic Falcon Eye Sniper. These all require Dill Bits to buy, so break into a few vaults before going on your shopping trip.
Alongside the Lawless items within black market backrooms, you'll also find weapons like the Rocket Drill, Outlaw Shotgun, and the Pump & Dump through chest drops, floor loot, and player eliminations. These aren't nearly as powerful, but they have their own upsides despite their more common rarities.
All Black Market backroom locations in Fortnite
Fortnite features three Black Market locations near Crime City, Seaport City, and Magic Mosses. Within them, you'll find locked doors that are only accessible using keycards. Here's a list of every black market and their backroom location:
Black Market

Seaport City/Masked Meadows

Magic Mosses
Next to Joss, opposite the Medkit and Shield Potion display.
Back in 2018 when Two Point Hospital first came out, I don't think anyone truly expected the developer to spin out a whole franchise. In 2025, though, we have Two Point Campus and Two Point Museum, and the latter, in particular, is an absolute delight.
Make no mistake, I adored both Hospital and Campus in their own ways. Two Point Hospital came about as an honest-to-goodness, albeit goofy, follow-up to the legendary Theme Hospital, and it very well could've stood on its own as a standalone product. Two Point Campus, on the other hand, proved that there was merit in making a franchise out of this Wallace & Gromit-esque schtick. The game had its own set of issues, however, most of which stemmed from the fact that all the actual management was done between semesters, with Campus playing itself when things truly kicked off.
Two Point Museum, however, solves all the problems I had with its predecessors. It doesn't have the automation issues that came about in Campus, and it doesn't suffer from being an essentially solvable game, like Hospital. No, Museum keeps players on their toes for way longer than any other Two Point title, and I'm thrilled to report that Zoey Handley's preview for the game was spot-on in a few key ways.
Image via Two Point Studios
There are two fundamental improvements Two Point Studios has delivered upon with Two Point Museum:
The gameplay loop is such that you're rewarded for coming back to your old, previously "solved" facilities.
Expeditions keep throwing curveballs at you as you go.
The first novelty, in particular, cannot be overstated: whereas you used to be able to wrap up a facility and simply move on to greener pastures in Hospital and Campus, Museum instead specifically tasks you with improving and upgrading old levels over and over again. You might head on over to an afterlife-themed facility later on in the campaign, which leads to a whole bevy of thematic (and goofy!) upgrades. All of them can subsequently be applied to your older museums, which in turn increases their ratings and nets you more currency and even more unlockables.
Levels are no longer "solved" after just one playthrough, which makes them rewarding to replay over and again, each time iterating upon your optimal exhibition layout to a greater extent. This is the ultimate solution to the prior Two Point titles' biggest problem, and makes Museum the kind of game that's hard to put down. There's always something going on, and there's alwayssomething you could be iterating on.
Image via Two Point Studios
Management games aren't everyone's cup of tea, that's a given. Yet, I can't help but feel that Two Point Museum shows that you don't have to sacrifice accessibility to make a truly compelling game of this kind.
The last couple of months have given us some of the best games we've seen over the past years. Between Avowed, Monster Hunter Wilds, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, there's absolutely no shortage of awesome, dynamic, and immersive action games to play for hundreds of hours on end. Yet, I can't help but play Two Point Museum instead. It's so good of an experience that I can't set it down.
Crucially, I hope Two Point Museum is a crucial turning point for the franchise. Two Point Studios has seemingly figured out how to elevate its management gameplay loop beyond issues present in its older titles. I'm not saying it's going to be easy or straightforward to apply a similar approach to whatever the next Two Point game might, but it's a delightful sign of things that are hopefully to come.
That's a different can of worms, however. In the interim, the main takeaway is that Two Point Museum is an absolute joy to play. Between its humor, the lovely visuals, and an inviting gameplay loop, there's really not much else a genre fan could ask for. So go and play it, already!
