Back in January, I lamented the idea that the Switch 2 would simply be an upgraded Switch.      COD's infamous Roze skin is back in Warzone and Black Ops 6 with $30 price tag

It's almost time for Verdansk's return in Warzone, and the Call of Duty nostalgia machine is working overtime to try and recreate the glory days of 2020. Alongside the return of fan-favorite weapons and some big gameplay overhauls, one of the most popular (and infuriating) operators from the early Verdansk era is back. Yep, a recreation of the original Warzone Roze skin is now available with the beginning of Black Ops 6 Season 3 - however, it'll cost you 30 bucks as part of the uber-premium BlackCell bundle.

     Best Warzone HDR loadout

What is the best Warzone HDR loadout? The triumphant return of Verdansk has rekindled our love for Warzone; not only can we waltz around the classic map again, but the feel of WZ is more aligned with what it was back in its prime. Sniping, for instance, hasn't been in the meta for a while, but we're happy to say that with the re-release of the HDR, it's back.

While some of our best Warzone loadouts are more suited to a small, resurgence-type map, it's safe to say that with something like Verdansk, you're going to want a long-range weapon at your side always. Extreme range is no issue in the battle royale for this sniper rifle, and with our best Warzone HDR loadout, you'll be downing enemies with ease.

     Best Warzone AMAX loadout

What is the best Warzone AMAX loadout? One of the classic Warzone weapons returning alongside Verdansk is the AMAX, a hard-hitting assault rifle capable of downing players in a handful of shots. The only downside is that the recoil can get a tad unruly without the correct attachments, however, we have built the best Warzone AMAX loadout so you can beam your enemies with ease.

With Warzone Season 3 in full flow and Verdansk back on the menu, returning players are settling back into this battle royale after a long break. One thing that is sure to make you feel comfortable is a classic Warzone assault rifle, and they don't come much better than the AMAX. Here's our best Warzone AMAX loadout, with the best attachments to use to get the most out of this powerful, mid-range weapon.

     Best Warzone Kilo 141 loadout

What is the best Warzone Kilo 141 loadout? There are a couple of contenders for the title of best assault rifle in Warzone, and with the return of some fan-favorites with Verdansk, that pool is getting even bigger. With the Grau and AMAX back in contention, you might not have a selection headache when you get your hands on our Kilo loadout.

Anyone even remotely familiar with Warzone will remember the Kilo 141: reliable, controllable, and with its return, perhaps the best all-rounder we have available in the battle royale right now. Our loadout tightens its recoil further and extends the range, putting the Kilo firmly in best Warzone loadout territory.

Warzone server status - is Warzone down?

Is Warzone down? Call of Duty Warzone exploded onto the scene back in 2020 and brought with it a more refined and accessible take on the battle royale genre. The player base has dwindled slightly over the past few years, but with the return of Verdansk, we're expecting many returning players to jump back into the action.

Such an influx could potentially cause havoc with the servers, however, and we all know that there isn't anything worse than sitting down for a long battle royale session only to be met with an error code. We're keeping tabs on everything Warzone to let you know if the servers are up and running.

Kingston is about to unleash the fastest gaming SSD ever, according to this leak

Not content to watch Samsung take all the glory, Kingston is reportedly working on a new drive that not only matches the Samsung 9100 Pro's read speed, but beats its write speed, making it the fastest gaming SSD ever. According to a leak, the new Kingston Fury Renegade G5 can hit a sequential write speed of 14,000MB/s, which would make it the new king of this metric.

The best gaming SSD title currently belongs to Samsung, at least if you prioritize raw performance above everything else. In our Samsung 9100 Pro review, the drive hit a massive sequential read speed of 14,725MB/s, with the write speed peaking at 13,450MB/s, However, if the leaked claims are true, then Kingston is about to manhandle the crown off Samsung's head, and it will be hard to push an SSD much further while using the 4x PCIe 5.0 interface.

Black Ops 6 Shattered Veil main quest speculation

How do you complete the Shattered Veil main quest in BO6? With the Sentinel Artifact securely secured, it's time for the team to head over to an old mansion that sits secluded in the woods beyond Liberty Falls. There, they'll meet up with S.A.M, the synthetic AI system based on Maxis, which could be the key to freeing her.

Of course, it wouldn't be a Black Ops 6 Zombies experience if linking up with S.A.M was a simple job. BO6 Season 3 will have you explore a new Zombies map, Shattered Veil, which leads you deep into Colton Hall. As with previous main quest installments, you can earn some pretty sweet loot for the FPS game if you manage to clear it before Directed Mode comes in.

Dustland Delivery is the greatest RPG you haven't played, and it just got better

It costs just $8, but Dustland Delivery has the depth and complexity of a mainstream, studio-built RPG. You can see the inspirations. The vehicle and crew management feels like it comes from FTL: Faster Than Light, the washed-out, lawless, apocalyptic world is right out of classic Fallout, and the strategy elements and economy systems owe a lot to SimCity and Factorio. But Dustland Delivery stands on its own merits. One of PC's true unappreciated gems, if you haven't played it yet, there's a giant new DLC that makes Dustland Delivery feel almost twice as big.

There are few games I love more than Enter the Gungeon. First it was Bloodborne. Then, Grand Theft Auto 6. Now, there's another great-looking game - but we don't know when, or if, it will ever come to PC. Sigh. For the most part, anything to do with the Nintendo Switch 2 won't have much to do with anyone in this neck of the woods, but its inaugural Direct did have some goodies for us PC players too. Like, for example, the fact that Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4 now have a release date, June 5th (which also happens to be when the Switch 2 comes out but that's neither here nor there). Mind, this is almost a good seven years after the first chapter dropped, and almost four since Chapter 2 was released, so it's been a long time coming.

It came out almost a decade ago way back in 2016, which felt like the peak "indie games are here and they can go toe to toe with the big boys" era. It had all the hallmarks, like throwback pixel art, quirky designs, easy to pick up and put down. So it feels a bit funny to see that a sequel, quite aptly titled Enter the Gungeon 2, was revealed during a presentation for, what was it called now, the Nintendo Switch 2? Something like that, doesn't matter, point is: Dodge Roll are making a sequel, and yes, it is coming to PC too, don't you worry.

Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions isn't Astroneer 2, so don't worry if you were as fond of the spacey survival game as Alec Meer (RPS in Peace) was back in 2019. "Slowly asphyxiating to death in an unforgiving alien wasteland has never been so joyful", wrote he, reminding me of the over air-fried chicken nugget I got stuck in my throat last week. The original Astroneer will keep receiving updates for "years" to come, say developers System Era Softworks. As for Starseeker, it's aiming to be a different kettle of space entirely.

In Pathologic 2 you played an exhausted surgeon who between incisions would scramble through piles of rubbish for a handful of nuts to keep himself alive. In Pathologic 3 the developers want you to approach the same plague-stricken town from a different perspective. This time you're a well-fed and well-dressed city doctor whose pompous attitude and diagnosing minigame makes him more like Hugh Laurie's Dr House than the scroungey hero of a survival game. Pathologic 3 Quarantine is a demo on Steam that lets you try out this secondary hero, the Bachelor, and it sets the tone for another trip into Ice-Pick Lodge's janky-if-interesting townscape.

It is time once again to shake our fists at the sky over the untimely, messy splintering of Disco Elysium as a cultural phenomenon. Yesterday, Youtuber Jamrock Hobo leaked a presentation for Locust City - An Elysium Story, an abandoned project that would have expanded the original RPG's detective odd-couple premise by having you control two returning characters simultaneously, each with their own furiously personified skill tree and Thought Cabinet of percolating ideas.

Assassin's Creed Shadows is special to me, in the sense I don't usually sit through whole games I'm not especially enjoying just for more opportunities to watch storms and gales, orange leaves whipped up by horse footfall, and flashes of illumination from distant lightning. It is a game that transforms weather from the subject of idle small talk to excited big talk. When I remember the game, I will remember galloping on horseback toward destinations that part of me wishes didn't exist, so I could keep on galloping forever.

These moments of beautiful, sombre realism made the whole game worth it for me, but they come at a cost I didn't realise until I decided to make the most of my Ubisoft+ Month and play Assassin's Creed Syndicate. I'm not made of fifteen quids, after all. I've played about five hours now, and while sometimes struck by how many great improvements the series has had over the years, there's something Syndicate has that Shadows doesn't: charm. A goofy charisma that I feel was present in Odyssey, but that Shadows trades out for ambitions toward a gravitas that just never came together for me.

In the latest Minecraft Live, developers Mojang revealed a "Vibrant Visual" overhaul for a game that is now older than many (most?) of the people playing it. Initially planned for the game's Bedrock edition, with a Java version update to follow, it garnishes Minecraft's blocky wilderness with directional lighting, volumetric fog and other gimcrackery you might recognise from more recently published open worlders.

Back when I was a mod-phobic Vanilla player, I would have sneered at all this. Minecraft is not supposed to have "subsurface scattering", whatever that means to regular mortals. It is not supposed to look high fidelity, or high tech. It is supposed to look like, well, Minecraft. These days, my reaction is less outrage and more curiosity, mingled with vertigo at the entangling of these trendy flourishes with the pixelgrain of what is still, on some level, Infiniminer touching grass. Whatever you think of these Vibrant Visuals, it's interesting to follow Mojang's efforts to tinker with and flesh out an aesthetic that was arguably 'perfected' in 2009. It's also interesting to think about what "vibrant" might look like, 16 years from now.

Nintendo Switch 2 Direct Japan exclusive reveals include Konami idol game Shine Post

The Japanese April 2025 Nintendo Switch 2 Direct included several games that were exclusively revealed there, just like the previous Direct for the original Switch in March 2025. The order of the game reveals is almost the same, and the GameCube classics also have the exact same lineups. However, we have spotted three Nintendo Switch 2 games that appeared only in Japan and not in the American Direct.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbvCaCuI6lE

The first difference we spotted in the Japanese Direct is Obakeidoro 2 appearing in the place of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4. This game will appear as the sequel to the 2019 game that had major updates in 2022 with a Castlevania crossover DLC set and a PC port. Free Style will release the new sequel in Summer 2025.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjiMk1T-j7s

The second exclusive title is Shine Post: Be Your Idol, which was substituted by Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions in the American Direct. This is the same title Konami has been working on, and its appearance in this Direct revealed that Switch 2 is the intended console after the company moved it from mobile devices. This game will be available on the same day as the Nintendo Switch 2's launch on June 5, 2025.

The third Japan-exclusive title in the Switch 2 Direct was Ys X -Proud Nordics-, and it appeared very briefly in the rapid sizzle reel. Nihon Falcom has set Summer 2025 as the release window for the game's Japanese version. Goodnight Universe appeared on this game's slot in the American Direct.

In addition, Nintendo revealed additional details about the Switch 2 units near the end of the Japanese Direct and on the Japanese website. Most of the consoles sold regularly in Japan will be strictly intended for use domestically in the country, as people can only link Nintendo Accounts that have the country/region entry set to Japan. This includes the regular console available at 49,980 yen (~$333.55) and the Mario Kart World bundle at 53,980 yen (~$360.25). Nintendo will instead sell the multi-language version of the console exclusively on the My Nintendo Store site at 69,980 yen (~$467) in Japan.

Nintendo Switch 2 will be available simultaneously worldwide on June 5, 2025.

Pop Team Geass is a real anime crossover merchandise kuji lottery in April 2025

Sunrise and King Records have revealed that they are working with Sutcliffe to hold a Pop Team Geass online kuji lottery on the latter's Kujicliffe website. The former two companies have previously published crossover design posters between Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion and Pop Team Epic on the 2025 April Fools' Day. It turns out that the crossover prank is not just a single-day deal, as people in Japan have a whole month to buy tickets for the lottery.

The merchandise lineup will feature a total of eight character designs. The first two feature Popuko and Pipimi in regular proportions with a Geass eye on each of them. The next two are chibi Popuko and Pipimi, who are wearing Suzaku and Lelouch attires, respectively. The last four will show Lelouch, Suzaku, C.C., and Kallen in Pop Team Epic-style chibi designs.

Here is the full prize lineup from the lottery:

  • A Prize: Cushion (2 designs)
  • B Prize: Acrylic stand (2 designs)
  • C Prize: Mini character acrylic stand (6 designs)
  • D Prize: Acrylic keychain (8 designs)
  • E Prize: Badge (8 designs)

A ticket for this lottery costs 880 yen (~$5.90). People can also get a bonus random character postcard for every ten tickets purchased. Sutcliffe will offer a flat shipping rate of 770 yen for up to 20 prize items, which also includes 2 bonus postcards.

Sunrise has also uploaded a new trailer showcasing the crossover on the Code Geass YouTube channel:

Sutcliffe will close the order window for the Pop Team Geass online kuji lottery on May 1, 2025. The company will ship the prizes around mid-August 2025.

Announced during Pokémon Day 2024, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is the next game in the Legends subseries following Pokémon Legends: Arceus. It will feature a different battle system from both the mainline Pokémon games and Arceus, and will focus on catching Pokémon out in the wild. The game's Royal Tournament was announced during the March Nintendo Direct. Pokémon Legends: Z-A is launching in late-2025, and is expected to be available on both Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.

The long-awaited new entry in the Metroid Prime series, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is scheduled to launch in 2025. Metroid Prime 4 was first announced in 2017, but we didn't see footage until 2024. Mario Kart World is a launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2. This latest mainline entry in the series will boast the most players at once with up to 24 players in the lobby. In addition, the game will feature an entire open-world map to explore. Players can pick select tracks to race on or even explore the various regions with friends.

Kirby Air Riders

This looks to be a full-on remake or at least remaster of the original Nintendo GameCube racing game. Players will be able to race as Kirby and friends throughout gorgeous landscapes. Perhaps most surprisingly, Masahiro Sakurai himself will be returning to the helm as the director of this upcoming Switch 2 title. It will release sometime for Switch 2 in 2025.

Donkey Kong Bananza

This open-world adventure from Nintendo appears to be a pseudo-successor to Donkey Kong 64. Players will be able to explore a vast world. There are mines, open areas, and plenty of enemies to fight in the Switch 2 game. Most of the adventure seems to take place from a 3D perspective. However, there are also the occasional, traditional 2D moments. It will release on July 17, 2025.

The Nintendo Switch 2 will launch on June 5, 2025, and a Nintendo Direct with more information on the upcoming console appeared on April 2, 2025.

The Duskbloods

A new FromSoftware game, The Duskbloods, was announced at the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct. It is set for release in 2026.

The Duskbloods is a new IP from FromSoftware, set in a new Victorian-inspired world with similarities to Bloodborne. The trailer showed off a number of mysterious characters, including a woman in Chinese dress and a strange figure in a full-body suit with a gas mask walking through a poison swamp.

While not much is known about the game, we can see demonstrations of vampiric powers and telekinesis, although it's not clear if these are powers the player can make use of or if they're used by major enemies.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niKHDEKQ7xA

Currently, The Duskbloods has only been confirmed for release on the Switch 2. It's not the only FromSoftware game set to release on Nintendo's new system though, as a port of Elden Ring has also been confirmed.

The Duskbloods is set for release for Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. Other platforms have yet to be confirmed.

SteamDB Shows Art Added for Hollow Knight: Silksong After years of waiting, the June 2024 Xbox Games Showcase involved a Hollow Knight: Silksong release date and new trailer.

After multiple delays, at the The Game Awards 2024, Hollow Knight: Silksong returned with a release date at the April 2025 Nintendo Switch 2 Direct. We'll get to go through Hornet's adventure on 2025.

As a reminder, Hollow Knight: Silksong was originally intended to be an add-on for the base game, but the scope of it led to the expansion becoming its own title. Team Cherry announced that back in February 2019. After that, bits and pieces about the game came up. For example, we got to see the map system at once point and one of the NPCs. In 2022, we learned when it would release, it'd be on Xbox Game Pass at launch.

However, after the 2023 delay, we started to hear less about the title. While a Nendoroid of both the Knight and Hornet released, and we also saw new Steam art and an Xbox product listing, there weren't concrete details about the new Hollow Knight game until now.

The Hollow Knight: Silksong release date will fall in 2025, and it will appear on the PS4, PS5, Switch, Siwtch 2, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. You can find the original Hollow Knight on the PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and PC worldwide now.

Nintendo Switch 2 Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment

Nintendo announced the third Hyrule Warriors title as part of the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct. Titled Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment, the upcoming experience will act as essentially a prequel to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Players will be able to hack-and-slash through the Imprisoning War in Hyrule's past.

Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment will launch sometime in Winter 2025 for the Nintendo Switch 2, with no specific release date revealed at this time, unfortunately. That said, players will be able to take on the role of Zelda and other characters in the past as part of this experience to hack-and-slash their way through hundreds of enemies on massive battlefields.

The story itself will detail the Imprisoning War that is referenced quite a bit in the main story of Tears of the Kingdom. Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment, developed by Koei Tecmo, will allow players to see Zelda's time in the past when it launches later this year.

Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment will arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 in Winter 2025.

Both games will receive performance upgrades in the form of resolution and frame rate enhancements, alongside HDR support to improve the visuals and enhance the onscreen colors. The Switch 2 enhancements also include support through Zelda Notes. This will be accessed through the Nintendo Switch App and provides GPS-like voice guidance to shrines and missed korok seed locations, QR Codes for creations in Tears of the Kingdom, and a photo studio for ingame screenshots.

The games receiving upgrades for the Nintendo Switch 2, like Mario Party Jamboree, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and Pokemon Legends Z-A will require a paid upgrade to access the new Switch 2 exclusive features if players already own the games for the original Nintendo Switch. It is not currently known how much it will cost.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Switch 2 Editions will receive both physical and digital versions for the Nintendo Switch 2 after the console releases.

If you are having trouble making a loadout with Call of Duty's new Kilo 141 assault rifle, you're not alone.

Activision has confirmed there's an issue with the Kilo 141 that's preventing it from being added to loadouts in Black Ops 6 or Warzone, which is currently offline for 24 hours ahead of Verdansk's return tomorrow.

https://twitter.com/CODUpdates/status/1907474266922336667

The returning gun, which is free for all players to grab now as season three has launched in BO6 while Warzone preps for tomorrow, was a hugely popular weapon in Warzone's early days and has been highly anticipated by players, so this current bug is quite annoying.

Thankfully, the issue is being worked on by Treyarch and Activision who are aware of the issue, but it's still a pain in the back for players looking to use the weapon and level it up ahead of Warzone tomorrow, or to use it on the new BO6 Zombies map, Shattered Veil.

Double XP and double weapon XP is currently live in BO6, so the weapon leveling process should go quickly once it's available. But for now, players will have to use other new guns like the CR-56 AMAX or HDR in lieu of the Kilo for the time being.

Some players are reporting a workaround to get to use the Kilo 141, though. If you enter Warzone, then equip a Kilo 141 in your loadout, equip an optic scope, back out of Warzone, return to BO6 MP, and then you should be able to add the Kilo to a loadout.

It appears that CoD is also having issues on Xbox itself at the time of writing, meaning a wide array of gamers are probably frustrated by what's going on with the new season's launch on top of not being able to play Warzone at all until tomorrow.

Update on April 2 at 1:38pm CT: Activision says the issue has been fixed.

"Players will need to relaunch Call of Duty and enter the Call of Duty: Warzone tile again to obtain access to the Kilo 141 in custom loadouts."

A player wearing a hat and flower dress standing under an egg arch behind some spring dishes in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

To earn all of the prizes available in the Easter Eggstravaganza event, you need to complete some special duties associated with it. One of these tasks is Spring Taste Test, and it's a tough one to finish since you're only given this name and no other additional information.

Trying to solve this one on your own is a struggle since there's a lot to do in the event. It's much more doable once you know what needs to be done, so if you're stuck on this one, here's how to complete Spring Taste Test in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Spring Taste Test duty in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The three spring taste teste recipes about to be cooked including the Spring Chocolate, Spring Egg Bowl, and Spring Mimosa Eggs in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

To finish the Spring Taste Test duty for the Easter Eggstravaganza event, you need to eat all three special spring meals, including Spring Chocolate, Spring Mimosa Eggs, and Spring Egg Bowl. You need to cook each dish so you can consume it, although you can also get an already cooked Spring Chocolate by tackling the That's Not Where Eggs Come From! duty.

All three recipes require you to get eggs from around the village before you can cook them. You also need a couple of additional staple ingredients not related to the event, all of which can be obtained from around the valley.

How to make all Spring Taste Test recipes in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Here are the full recipes for all three dishes you need to consume for the Spring Taste Test duty.

Name Ingredients Energy Image
Spring Chocolate One Spring V-EGG-etable
One Sugarcane
One Cocoa Bean
1,392 Spring chocolate in DDV.
Spring Mimosa Eggs One Spring V-EGG-etable
One Wild Spring Egg
One Egg-cellent Fruit
One Basil
1,095 Spring mimosa eggs in DDV.
Spring Egg Bowl One Egg-cellent Fruit
Onee Spring V-EGG-etable
One Wild Spring Egg
One Cocoa Bean
One Sugarcane
1,942 Spring egg bowl in DDV.

Eggs are only obtainable during the event, but the rest of the ingredients can be obtained from around the valley. The three additional ingredients you need are Sugarcane, Basil, and Cocoa Beans. You can grow Sugarcane yourself, harvest Basil from the wild in the Peaceful Meadow biome, and get Cocoa Beans from Cacao Trees.

Once you have all three meals made for the Spring Taste Test duty, open your personal inventory. Locate one of the three dishes and select the "Eat" option. Repeat this process for the other two meals to fully finish this quest. Try to make sure your energy bar isn't full before eating so you can gain some useful energy buffs from these three recipes.

Spring Taste Test reward in Disney Dreamlight Valley

You get one reward for completing the Spring Taste Test, which is the Spring Tableware item. This is a furniture decoration you can place on most surfaces or on the ground. It's a great item to use for spring spaces and also a fun detail for DreamSnaps submissions.

There are plenty of other Easter Eggstravaganza event rewards you can earn, so be sure to tackle all other event tasks to grab them while you can. When you have the entire event completed, consider working on gathering key resources from around the valley. Having a healthy stock of items ready to go will help you prepare for the upcoming Alice in Wonderland update.

Firing the Wunderwaffe DG-2

The legendary Wunderwaffe DG-2 has electrified players across multiple Zombies iterations. While it seemed absent from Black Ops 6, the explosive Liberty Falls trailer teased its return. Now, the wait is over, and we're here to show you how to get the Wunderwaffe DG-2 in BO6 Zombies.

How to unlock Wunderwaffe DG-2 in Black Ops 6 Zombies

The only way to get the Wunderwaffe DG-2 is through the Mystery Box, which may also drop the Ray Gun Mark 2. I got the DG-2 Wonder Weapon instantly by consuming the Wonderbar GobbleGum. This GobbleGum can be tricky to acquire, as it is classified as an ultra-rare type. You can get it through in-game GobbleGum Packs or as a free reward when simply playing BO6 Zombies. You don't necessarily need to acquire this particular GobbleGum, but it does help speed things up.

Getting the Wunderwaffe DG-2 from Mystery Box
Screenshot by Destructoid

Unlike the Ice Staff and Elemental Swords, there doesn't seem to be a way to craft the Wunderwaffe DG-2 in BO6 Zombies. The Ray Gun Mark 2, however, does involve crafting, so this specific Wonder Weapon may take up more time. If you are successful in getting the Wunderwaffe DG-2 with the Mystery Box, you can start electrifying zombies with its handy chain-lighting attacks. You'll undoubtedly clear out tons of undead in seconds, which is perfect for the later rounds.

It isn't clear if the Wunderwaffe DG-2 only spawns in the Shattered Veil map, but I'll try to see what happens in other locations like Liberty Falls, Citadelle des Morts, and Terminus. At the time of writing, we only know that the Ray Gun Mark 2 solely spawns in Shattered Veil, which could apply to the DG-2. Given that the map was just released for Black Ops 6 Season 3, there may be more Wunderwaffe DG-2 content to uncover. I'll update this guide if anything comes up.

Link riding a horse in Tears of the Kingdom

The Nintendo Direct program on April 4 has finally given us a confirmed release date for the Nintendo Switch 2, and we have more information about how upgrades will work for first-party titles.

Not all first-party releases will be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2, as new games will be released for the older Switch console. Thanks to better hardware, Switch 2 users will be able to enhance graphics and better controls with the Joy-Con 2 and more. To do so, they will have to pay an extra price.

How do Nintendo Switch 2 Upgrade Packs work?

Upgrade Packs are an effective way to upgrade your Switch game to the Switch 2 version. When you buy any first-party title's Switch 2 edition, you're essentially getting a combo pack of the Switch 1 version and an upgrade pack.

Let's take the example of the Switch 2 version of Super Mario Party Jamboree. This is what you'll receive.

  • Switch 1 version of Super Mario Party Jamboree
  • New way to play Jamboree TV
  • New modes that use the controls and advanced features of Switch 2.
  • GameShare compatibility for local multiplayer
  • WQHD resolution in TV mode, and full HD in tabletop mode.

If you already own the Switch 1 edition for any game, you don't have to pay the entire amount for the Switch 2 version. Instead, all you have to do is buy the Upgrade Pack, and it should allow you to access the enhanced version of the game.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0jkSlm6gVA

The exact content of Upgrade Packs will vary across different games, so always make sure to check that out before purchasing a copy (either Physical or Digital).

How much will Nintendo Switch 2 Upgrade Packs cost?

The exact price of the Upgrade Packs is not available as of writing. There's an exception for a couple of Zelda titles, but you'll have to purchase the Upgrade Packs separately. If I have to estimate, the Upgrade Packs should cost around $20.

Most of the base versions for first-party Switch titles cost $59.99. The MSRP for Mario Kart World is set at $79.99. Mario Kart World is one of the several launch titles that will be available on the same day as the Nintendo Switch 2. A bundle is also available if you are looking to buy the game and the console at a discounted price.

This is why I estimate that the Upgrade Packs will cost about $20, but it's best to wait for an official report from Nintendo. It's also important to note that the Upgrade Packs are different from in-game updates. A lot of first and third-party parties will get new features for the Switch 2, which are going to be available for free. The Upgrade Pack has more to do with the additional features that are only available on the Nintendo Switch 2 (like in-console voice chat, new controllers, and more).

All members of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership will get access to the Upgrade Packs for Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom at no extra cost. This benefit is only available for these two Zelda titles, and requires an active membership. The only option for the rest of the games is to get the Upgrade Packs separately, or just get a Switch 2 version.

Using the Ray Gun Mark 2

The legendary Ray Gun Mark 2 returns in Black Ops 6 Zombies, featuring three unique variants, each designed for a specific playstyle. Whether you prefer high-damaging shotguns, mobile SMGs, or marksman rifles, there's a perfect fit for everyone. Here's how to unlock the Ray Gun Mark 2 in BO6 Zombies.

How to unlock Ray Gun Mark 2 in Black Ops 6 Zombies

You can snag the Ray Gun Mark 2 the old-fashioned way by risking it all with the Mystery Box. However, it can only be done at the Shattered Veil, as Treyarch has confirmed the other maps won't have this Wonder Weapon available until Season 3 Reloaded. You may also be able to craft it, given that there is a designated section for the Ray Gun Mark 2. However, it could also be linked to the variants, so I'll look into this subject.

Ray Gun Mark 2 Quest Items section
Screenshot by Destructoid

Although Mystery Boxes issue out guns randomly, you can beat the odds by consuming the Wonderbar GobbleGum. This perk guarantees a Wonder Weapon drop every time, and you could be lucky enough to acquire the Ray Gun Mark 2.

In my previous Zombies adventures, the Wonderbar GobbleGum instantly gave me rare gems like the Beamsmasher and Jet Gun. Typically, these weapons require a lengthy crafting process, but the GobbleGum more or less skips it entirely. Even if you don't have the Wonderbar, you can still experiment with the Mystery Box and hope the Mark 2 appears. You can find the Mystery Box on the map in a few spots. As always, its location will change from time to time. Nevertheless, you may be able to determine its location with its distinct blue beam high in the sky.

Finding Shattered Veil Mystery Box
Screenshot by Destructoid

The Ray Gun Mark 2 unleashes three-round bursts of energy, going a step above the classic Ray Gun Wonder Weapon. You can also use it as a melee-based weapon whenever your bullets run out. This maneuver will prove helpful, as Wonder Weapon ammunition can be quite costly, especially during the later rounds.

All Ray Gun Mark 2 variants in BO6 Zombies

Ray Gun Mark 2 variants are back to diversify this Wonder Weapon's power, a feature you may recognize from Black Ops 4. Here's a breakdown of all Ray Gun Mark 2 variants in Black Ops 6 Zombies:

  • Ray Gun Mark 2-W: A submachine-based weapon that can ignite enemies randomly
  • Ray Gun Mark 2-P: A shotgun-based weapon that spawns sigils, granting invulnerability to a player standing on it temporarily
  • Ray Gun Mark 2-R: A marksman rifle-based weapon that randomly unleashes bullets with a plague infection area-of-effect

Unlocking these variants will require some crafting, but I'm still getting through the Shattered Veil Easter Eggs. I'll update this guide once I find out more information.

Mario Kart Switch 2 characters include Yoshi and Luigi

The release date for Nintendo Switch 2 is now live, and gamers won't have to wait long to get their hands on the device.

The exact release date has been a matter of speculation and intrigue over the last few months. Plenty of rumors and supposed "leaked" dates have made their rounds of social media, but they can now be laid to rest. The official date has been revealed on April 2's Nintendo Direct, and here's how long you'll need to wait.

Nintendo Switch 2 release date

Nintendo's next handheld in the Switch series is going to be available on June 5. The release date actually falls close to some of the earlier speculations we have on social media. Things look clearer with a confirmed date, as buyers can plan.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9flte56erE8&t=79s

The rollout will begin in all global areas to start things off and will gradually pick up pace. Some regions of the world will need to wait longer to get their hands on the product as the rollout will take time to complete. The first few months should also witness large-scale demand, given how long it has taken Nintendo to roll out a successor for the original Switch.

The Nintendo Switch 2 will be available for pre-orders online and from local retailers. The latter will depend mostly on regional supplies and how much stock is available in the first place.

Everything that we know about Nintendo Switch 2

The world got the first glimpse at the upcoming console in January when Nintendo revealed the first trailer. While having a similar appearance to the first Switch, the second generation device has plenty of tweaks under the hood. Backward compatibility is one of Switch 2's biggest strengths, as it will allow the first-gen games to run smoothly.

The second-gen console will have Joy Con 2 controllers, and there will be a new C button for starters. There will be in-console integration for real-life communication, as the new console has in-built mic to aid voice chat with your buddies. There's also support for video chat, and an additional Nintendo camera will be available. Online membership is necessary to access game chat.

GameShare is another cool feature of the new console as it will allow you to share games with nearby console users. This feature will be available for a limited-list of games that will be exclusive to the second-gen console.

Compared to the first console, Switch 2 will have a larger screen while having the same thickness. The main screen will have support for 1080P resolution and 120 FPS. With more vividness and HDR, expect to enjoy crisper visuals, especially when viewing darker areas. Additionally, using the dock will allow you to enjoy up to 4K on supported games and TV.

With two ports, it will be easier to connect your console with other Type-c devices in tabletop mode. Internal storage has also been given a big boost, as the base version will offer 256GB of storage.

Operator in Verdansk map

There's nothing worse than hopping into an online game only to see that it's down. If you're facing this with Warzone, we've got you covered. Find out why Warzone is offline and when it's expected to return.

Why is Warzone down?

During the COD Pod, the hosts announced that Warzone would go offline in "preparation for the launch of Verdansk." The Verdansk update is shaping up to be a massive download, with a complete revamp of the map and exciting new events on the way. Given the scope of these changes, it's no shocker that the game is going offline for a bit — all to ensure optimal performance and a smoother experience when it's live.

https://youtu.be/rKCg90ZlZJs?feature=shared&t=2955

While the game may be offline for a while, there's a silver lining with not one but two bits of good news. First up, Black Ops 6 will have a Free Trial period during Warzone's downtime, giving you the chance to dive into premium Season 3 content at no cost. That means you can get a taste of the new Zombies: Shattered Veil and explore the fresh Multiplayer maps, even if you haven't purchased BO6.

The other good news is that anyone who logs into Warzone when it's down will receive a free weapon, the Kilo 141. This Assault Rifle was one of the most beloved guns back when Verdansk was in its heyday, and now it's coming back for more during Black Ops 6 Season 3. You can also test your skills with the Kilo 141 camo challenges, which will be available for BO6 Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone.

When will Warzone come back online?

The Call of Duty Blog indicates that Warzone will shut down for 24 hours. It is expected to return online on April 3, 2025, at 9 am PT/12 pm ET/4 pm GMT. You can track how many more hours it will take via the Countdown to Verdansk launch in-game. Once the time's up, Verdansk awaits, and you can start earning rewards from the map's exclusive celebration.

Warzone Operators in Verdansk map
Image via Activision

The Return to Verdansk event begins right when Warzone comes back online, where you can explore notable POIs and unlock Hidden Safes. It may even give you a sweet new Operator skin with the random drops from the safe. You can also look forward to more content during the mid-season, including the Verdansk Express, additional modes, and Battle Royale Verdansk Ranked Play.

Spider-Punk playing guitar by an Outlaw Flusher in Fortnite.

Weekly quests are a great way to quickly earn lots of XP in Fortnite. They're sometimes decently tough to figure out, though, as is the case with the spend bars on an Outlaw Flusher task.

You get 30,000 XP for finishing this quest, which is a pretty massive amount for the fairly minimum effort you have to put in. It might seem like a daunting quest initially, but it's not tough at all once you know where to find Outlaw Flushers and how to use them. Here's how to spend bars on an Outlaw Flusher in Fortnite.

What is an Outlaw Flusher in Fortnite?

Spider-Punk holding a guitar and standing in front of an Outlaw Flusher in Fortnite.
Screenshot by Destructoid

Outlaw Flushers are special versions of the Port-a-Potty hideout and teleport spots you can find and use around the island. While only some regular Port-a-Potties function as teleporters, all Outlaw Flushers are guaranteed to transport you to a new location after you pay the fee using gold bars.

The shape of all Outlaw Flushers is the same as Port-a-Potties, but they have a unique design. Instead of being plain blue and white boxes, Outlaw Flushers are black and gold with a symbol on the door. This symbol features a skull icon over fire and two guns underneath it.

Outlaw Flusher locations in Fortnite

You can find Outlaw Flushers sitting outside around the three Black Markets situated across the map. They can be found:

  • Near the Black Market at Magic Mosses.
  • Near the Black Market north of Crime City.
  • Near the Black Market north of Masked Meadows.

Three Outlaw Flusher locations marked on the map in Fortnite.
Screenshot by Destructoid. Remix by Destructoid

If you're having trouble pinpointing the exact location of an Outlaw Flusher around any of these spots, you can use the mini-map to make finding it easier. As long as there's an Outlaw Flusher nearby, an icon of a Port-A-Potty will pop up, marking its precise location to help you find it.

Any of the previously mentioned locations work for finding an Outlaw Flusher, so you can pick whichever one you prefer. To have the easiest time finding one, though, I recommend heading to the Black Market north of Masked Meadows near the colorful flower fields. The Outlaw Flusher is fully visible from this location, so it's very easy to locate and get to.

You can find the Outlaw Flusher north of Masked Meadows, sitting right in front of a tree. If you stand right outside of the gas station where the Black Market is hidden at this location and look towards the flower fields, you can spot the Outlaw Flusher near a fence right in front of it.

Spend bars on an Outlaw Flusher in Fortnite

To finish the spend bars on an Outlaw Flusher quest, you need to pay 50 gold bars to use an Outlaw Flusher one time. All you have to do for this task is walk up to an Outlaw Flusher and interact with it to pay the fee and be transported to a new location.

The only tough part of this quest is finding an Outlaw Flusher to use. They're fairly rare, but you now know the spots you can visit to find one, which makes this task a lot easier to get done.

If you're hoping to earn more XP after completing this task, consider working through some additional quests next. Some good ones to tackle are the Mortal Kombat Cryomancer's Resolve quest series and the someone is planning a joyride found quest. You'll need to grab Scorpion's Kombat Kit to finish the former.

Mario Kart World artwork

It's a whole new world for Mario and his kart-racing pals. Mario Kart World is coming soon with big improvements to the racing franchise for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Mario Kart World supports up to 24 players in any given race, plus new modes such as Knockout Tour, which is a battle royale-like experience where four players are eliminated at a time until one winner is victorious. There's a world map made up of different courses, and when you finish racing on one, you can drive to the next to keep the fun going.

Also new to the franchise is the Free Roam mode, where you can drive wherever you wish to explore the map by yourself or with friends in online or offline co-op. Basically, it's everything you love about Mario Kart, but with more options (and a higher pricetag).

Here's when you can start up the racing in Mario Kart World.

Mario Kart World release date countdown

Mario Kart World race course map
Screenshot by Destructoid

Mario Kart World is a launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2, which means it will launch alongside the console on June 5, 2025. The countdown below shows how much time is left between now and midnight ET on June 5:

[hurrytimer id="1044429"]

This is the assumed time of availability for most players, although it will assumedly be available to play earlier depending on where you are in the world and when you get your Switch 2. Basically, if you grab a Switch 2 on launch day, you can play Mario Kart World as soon as you're set up.

Mario Kart World is available in a console bundle with the Switch 2 for $499 USD. On its own, the game will cost $79.99 for the digital version and $89.99 for the physical version, so picking up the Mario Kart World Switch 2 bundle actually ends up saving you money.

Disney Dreamlight Valley screenshot of egg trees within the easter event.

Looking for all egg locations and respawn times in Disney Dreamlight Valley? As part of the special Eggstravaganza event in Disney Dreamlight Valley, there are 4 different eggs to collect, which will allow you to craft new easter-themed furniture. Below are all egg locations and respawn times so you can farm them to your heart's desire.

All egg locations and respawn times

There are a total of 4 different eggs to collect during the Eggstravaganza Disney Dreamlight Valley event. Here are the locations you can get them and how quickly they respawn in the valley.

Egg Location Respawn rate
Wild Spring Egg These will randomly spawn as forage items across all of the main biomes. These are blue eggs that can often get hidden behind furniture items. Go into the build menu to have a better time spotting them. 12 minutes.
Egg-cellent Fruit These are pink eggs that grow on fruit bushes throughout the major biomes. Check your map for bush locations (represented by an apple symbol). 60 minutes.
Spring V-EGG-etable From a crafting table trade 1 Egg-cellent Fruit, 1 Wild Spring Egg, and 20 Dreamlight to craft a Spring V-EGG-etable seed. Plant and water it like any other crop. It must be watered again after 15 minutes and will become ready for harvest after another 15-minute wait. 30 minutes.
Purple Spring Egg The Moana, Toy Story, Lion King, Beauty and the Beast and Mulan realms. 5 minutes.

Apart from Purple Spring Eggs, the other three eggs can also be earned through completing daily and weekly challenges for Wall-E.

By contrast, the Purple Spring Eggs can only be collected from the realms mentioned above and there are a maximum of 10 eggs spawned into the game at once. After an egg is collected, another will randomly spawn in one of the realms after 5 minutes. This means after collecting 10 Purple Spring Eggs, you'll need to wait a total of 50 minutes before farming another 10 in one go.

That rounds up our guide to all egg locations and respawn times. For more Disney Dreamlight Valley tips and tricks during this special easter event, check out our in-depth guide to getting Purple Eggs or see our overview of the Disney Dreamlight Valley 2025 roadmap, which includes all future content drops.

A character with long brown braids wearing a long floral dress and standing with a yellow bunny in front of a green flower bush in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

The Easter Eggstravaganza event has lots of special quests you can tackle to earn exclusive prizes. One of the tougher duties to complete is That's Not Where Eggs Come From!, but it has some of the best event rewards and is absolutely worth finishing.

This task doesn't give you any direction beyond its name, so figuring out what needs to be done is fairly tricky. If you're stuck on this quest, here's how to complete the That's Not Where Eggs Come From! duty in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

That's Not Where Eggs Come From! duty in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Crafting a V-EGG-etable Seed in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Screenshot by Destructoid

As the name of the That's Not Where Eggs Come From! task hints, you need to acquire eggs from somewhere unexpected, specifically, harvest a total of 100 Spring V-EGG-etables to complete it. There are four stages to this task, but to fully finish it, you must acquire 100 of these eggs.

How to get Spring V-EGG-etables in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Spring V-EGG-etables must be crafted, planted, watered, and harvested from a V-EGG-etable Seed to be obtained. The process for acquiring them is a bit tricky, so here's a breakdown of the exact steps you need to follow.

  • Acquire one Egg-cellent Fruit and one Wild Spring Egg.
  • Make sure you have at least 20 Dreamlight.
  • Visit any crafting station around the valley and select the "Refined Material" category.
  • Craft the "V-EGG-etable Seed" option.
  • Plant the V-EGG-etable Seed anywhere in the valley.
  • Water the V-EGG-etable Seed.
  • Wait 15 minutes.
  • Water the V-EGG-etable Seed again.
  • Wait another 15 minutes.
  • Harvest the V-EGG-etable Seed to acquire one Spring V-EGG-etable.

That's Not Where Eggs Come From! rewards in Disney Dreamlight Valley

There are four rewards you can earn as you make progress in the That's Not Where Eggs Come From! duty. Three of them are exclusively obtainable through this task, but the Spring Chocolate prize isn't and can be cooked outside of this.

You earn rewards at various stages throughout the That's Not Where Eggs Come From! quest since it's such a large undertaking to complete. Here are all of the prizes this task offers and how many Spring V-EGG-etables you need to get each one.

Reward Image Requirement
Spring Chocolate Spring chocolate in DDV. 10 Spring V-EGG-etables
Blue Spring Rabbit Blue Spring Rabbit in DDV. 30 Spring V-EGG-etables
Pink Spring Rabbit Pink Spring Rabbit in DDV. 60 Spring V-EGG-etables
Yellow Spring Rabbit Yellow Spring Rabbit in DDV. 100 Spring V-EGG-etables

There are plenty of other Easter Eggstravaganza event rewards you can earn in addition to these ones, so be sure to tackle everything this event features to claim all available prizes. The Easter Eggstravaganza event has other tricky tasks to complete, so it's best to get started on them as soon as possible to ensure you're able to fully finish the event before it ends.

If you don't get this task done while the event is live from April 2 to 22, you can work on it after as long as you have the supplies to do so. You need to make a lot of seeds to grow Spring V-EGG-etables, though, so getting it done while the event is active is generally the best way to go. If you miss out, the event will return around the same time in 2026 to give you another shot at completing it.

After this festive spring event, there's plenty of additional content to look forward to. The next major content drop is the Alice in Wonderland update, and after that, there's still plenty more in store based on the 2025 roadmap.

Nintendo Switch 2 launch

The Nintendo Switch 2 has finally been revealed after its console debuted during a direct on April 2.

Boasting stronger specs than the original Switch, the console handheld hybrid can run games at up to 120 FPS in handheld mode and 4K resolution with HDR while docked, and it also has better audio, ventilation, new and improved controls, and a lot more.

It seems as though Switch 2 games may be pricier than normal, too, as Nintendo has confirmed that Mario Kart World will be sold digitally for $80 USD ($90 for physical games), potentially setting an unfortunate precedent for games prices moving forward.

Legends Z-A on Nintendo Switch 2

The Nintendo Switch 2 will have a mega launch based on the initial lineup of games.

It's been known for some time that Switch 2 will have backward compatibility and will support older games. However, the Nintendo Direct event on April 4 gave us a glimpse of the first generation of games that will be made for the new-age console.

Disclaimer: Work in progress

Complete Nintendo Switch 2 launch lineup

So far, we have confirmation about the following games that will launch on the same date as the new console.

  • Mario Kart World
  • Nintendo Switch Welcome Tour
  • Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (getting Switch 2 version)
  • Pokemon Legends Z-A (getting Switch 2 version)

Mario Kart World

This game was expected to be part of the launch program as we had already seen a Mario Kart being played on the console's reveal trailer. We have now confirmation that Mario Kart World will be one of the launch titles.

Racing scene in Mario Kart World

In a fresh trailer, we managed to get glimpses of the general gameplay, as races will be taking place across land and water. Different ecosystems and biomes will provide their unique challenges as players rush their way to the top. Expect the same multiplayer madness but with more competitors, twists, and turns. With a maximum of 24 racers, things have never been more challenging.

Apart from tracks and races, there will be an aspect of open-world exploration. You can roam and travel to different parts of the world alone or with friends and take captures of your adventures. The new Mario Kart racing game will be launching on the same day as the new console.

Nintendo Switch Welcome Tour

This will be a paid game available on the same day as the new console, and allow you to learn about the finer technological aspects in an intuitive fashion. You'll be able to unearth how many of the features work, albeit in a fun way. The game world is essentially the Switch console itself, and you can roam and interact with different

The Legend of Zelda

Both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom will be getting enhanced editions, which will have better graphics and smoother framerates. Their will be additional support for players with the help of Zelda Notes, which will act as an intuitive guide for all. It will be great for those who might get stuck trying to clear a quest.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

The Switch 2 version will have better performance capabilities, and you can choose from two graphic modes. There's more as the new Joy-Con 2 controller will allow you to get a functioning mouse, which is highly convenient for any type of shooters.

Pokemon Legends Z-A

Similar to Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, the Switch 2 version of Pokemon Legends Z-A will have greater capabilities. There's a new battle format to enjoy, which is unlike anything we have seen previously in the series. The new battle format will allow players to use stealth in hopes of catching their enemies unaware. But they will have to avoid getting caught, as that will turn the tides of the battle against them.

Players will be able to escape hurdles by creating a distance between them. Overall, there are plenty of reasons to be excited, and it will be interesting to find out how the gameplay performs on the upgraded hardware of the Nintendo Switch 2.

The Z-A Royale tournament will be taking place every night in Lumiose City. Players will be able to test out their strategic decision-making and knowledge in highlighted battled zones as they fight their way to the top ranks.

Plenty of third-party titles will have support for Nintendo Switch 2 from day one. Here's the list of games revealed so far.

The Nintendo Switch 2 isn't all about the future. It's also bringing some special love for the GameCube, with a big addition to Nintendo Switch Online.

GameCube Classics are coming to the Expansion Pass for NSO, as an exclusive for the Switch 2, including games like Super Mario Sunshine, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Soul Calibur 2, F-Zero GX, Luigi's Mansion, and a lot more.

The list of games will be added to and expand over time, as has been the case for other classics like the GameBoy, GameBoy Advance, Nintendo, and Super Nintendo, so this is a win and big draw to add more subscribers to the premium online subscription.

In case you're really feeling super nostalgic, the classic GameCube controller is also making a comeback, with full wireless support to be used on the Switch 2 for these classic games. Welcome back, Wavebird.

Nintendo did not detail potential price changes for the service, so it may be the same as it is now, but more information is expected leading up to the console's launch on June 5.

We all kind of expected it, but it was still nice to actually see it in the end. During Nintendo's Switch 2-focused Direct presentation, we got a look at some of the games coming to the console, including Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment. It's not quite a mainline entry; instead, it's another Warriors-style game developed in collaboration with Omega Force.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQfZqzDlrMc

The trailer itself showed off the classic Warriors-style gameplay we all know and love. Most notably, however, it looks like Zelda herself will be the star of the game instead of Link, as most may have expected. Age of Imprisonment serves as a prequel of sorts to Tears of the Kingdom, and it's meant to take us through Zelda's story and the events leading up to the critically acclaimed open-world title.

If Age of Imprisonment is anything like its predecessors, you can expect fun hack-and-slash action combat, along with major upgrade trees for your characters and weapons. I'd be curious to see who makes the cut for the character roster too, aside from Zelda.

The first Hyrule Warriors originally released in 2014 before getting a port on Switch, and Age of Calamity released in 2020. The latter was a huge improvement over its predecessor, featuring even more complex combos and character development options.

Anyway, while Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment might not be the big TOTK follow-up fans may have been hoping for, it's still going to have a tie-in to the mainline story and that'll be exciting to see.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment is set to release this winter. For more on the Nintendo Switch 2, check out the rest of our coverage right here on Destructoid, including our guide on how to pre-order the console.

a look at the nintendo switch 2

The Nintendo Switch 2 has finally been properly unveiled, with quite a few exciting games to look forward to. Here's how and where to pre-order the Nintendo Switch 2 on April 8. Good luck! You'll probably need it.

When can you pre-order the Switch 2?

The Switch 2 has been confirmed for a June release date, and pre-orders will become available on April 8. That being said, you can already start bookmarking several retail sites to get ready for the bloodbath.

Pre-ordering the Switch 2 in the US

GameStop's pre-order page for the Switch 2 is already live, though you won't actually be able to get your pre-order in until April 8. If you're in North America, you can expect to get them from the usual suspects, as listed below.

Pre-ordering the Switch 2 in the UK

You can absolutely still pre-order your Switch from some U.S.-based retailers even if you're outside of the region, but do note that it'll likely cost you a bit more. For folks in the U.K., here the retailers to keep an eye on:

Nintendo Switch 2 release date and price

The Nintendo Switch 2 is set to be released on June 5. At launch, you'll have the option of getting either the console itself, or the Mario Kart World bundle which, as the name suggests, comes with the console and Mario Kart World.

The Nintendo Switch 2 will retail for $449 USD.

What to do if you can't get a pre-order?

Given how popular console releases have been in the past decade, don't be surprised if you're unable to secure a Switch 2 pre-order once those go live. Don't be disheartened, though; there are things you can do to give yourself a better shot when inventory gets restocked.

Here are a couple of things to consider:

  • Sign up for mailing lists and waitlists for your preferred retailers.
  • Sign up for a retailer membership such as Walmart Plus or GameStop Pro, which will give you a higher chance of getting a pre-order since members will often get first dibs when stock refreshes.

If all else fails, you'll just need to play the waiting game. Eventually the consoles will get restocked, and it should become much easier to purchase a Switch 2. It'll just take a little bit more time.

Nintendo Switch 2 Direct image

It's not every day you see two Nintendo Directs in one week. While the March 27 Direct dove into the release dates of games like Shadow Labyrinth, two Patapon remakes, and the latest Story of Seasons game, this Direct is all about the Switch 2.

Let's face it: the hype surrounding the Switch 2 is comparable to GTA 6. Everyone knows it exists but wants to find as much information as possible to decide whether to buy it on day one or wait a while. Let's dive into the Switch 2 Nintendo Direct and everything it has in store.

Everything revealed during the Switch 2 Nintendo Direct

Nintendo Switch 2 release date

We have a release date for the Nintendo Switch 2. The Switch 2 will officially launch on June 5, 2025, alongside several new titles and Switch 1 games getting enhanced remakes for the new console.

Mario Kart World

Mario Kart World
Screenshot by Destructoid

Mario Kart World takes center stage as the first major reveal. While we caught glimpses of it during the Switch 2's first announcement trailer, this is the first time we have witnessed its gameplay and all 24 of its racers as focal points.

Mario Kart World's gameplay has multiple changes from previous games in the franchise, from weather changes on each map to costume changes and wall riding. It'll be released as a Nintendo Switch 2 launch title on June 5.

GameChat

The first key feature update for the Switch 2 is a Discord-like voice chat and screen-sharing system that can be used directly from your console. Using a "C" button on your joycons, you'll be able to join a voice chat with friends as long as you have a Nintendo Switch Online membership.

Alongside GameChat, a Switch 2 Camera is launching the same day as the Switch 2, letting you show your face as you talk in GameChat. There's be a GameChat open access period until March 31, 2026, letting you trial the feature before deciding on a membership.

Nintendo Switch 2 hardware comparison

A major part of this Direct is comparing the Switch 2 to the original Nintendo Switch. Here are some of the key comparisons made during the presentation:

  • The Switch 2 is overall bigger and features an HD display.
  • The systems are backwards compatible, so you can play Switch 1 games on the Switch 2. Both physical and digital games are supported.
  • The Switch 2 features GameShare, allowing you to play with multiple consoles as long as one person owns the game.
  • Each Switch 2 Joycon controller can be used as a mouse.
  • The Switch 2 has a built-in microphone with noise-cancelling technology.
  • The Switch 2 has 3D surround sound to emulate sounds appearing around you.

  • 256 GB of internal storage compared to the 32 GB storage in the original Switch
  • The new Switch 2 dock has upscaling to 4K and an internal fan to keep things extra cool.
  • You can transfer data between the Switch 1 and Switch 2, letting you exchange game saves and data.

A screencap of the official Switch 2 reveal trailer from Nintendo.

The Nintendo Switch 2's hardware specs have been revealed as part of its presentation, and it's sounding like a big evolution of the original console.

The handheld version of the console will support up to 120 FPS and 1080p resolution, which is obviously a massive upgrade over the original, and even higher than the Steam Deck. It also features 3D audio support and improved speakers with clearer audio, and a built-in microphone.

Screenshot by Destructoid

The screen is unfortunately an LCD and not OLED, but it will support HDR. The JoyCons include bigger SL/SR buttons, larger sticks, and the long-rumored mouse-like controls. The Switch 2 console has two USB-C ports, 256GB base storage, and will be backwards compatible with Switch 1 games.

The new console gets serious when it's in docked mode. The new Nintendo Switch 2 dock will allow for upscaled resolution up to 4K and HDR, fan ventilation, and more, allowing for a more modern console experience than the Switch 1 offered.

New and existing games will be offered with Switch 2 versions to take care of the stronger hardware, offering higher resolution, frame rate, and mouse support, such as Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Super Mario Party Jamboree, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

More specific information about the Switch 2's hardware will be coming over time ahead of the console's launch on June 5, but there's enough here to get excited about the big improvements.

a look at two players using the Game Chat feature on the Switch 2

Ever since Nintendo teased the Switch 2, there's been a lot of speculation over the mysterious C button on the right Joy-Con. Well, we finally know what it is, and it ain't pretty.

As it turns out, the C button stands for Chat, and it allows you to access a new Game Chat feature on the Switch 2. By pressing it, you can hop into a chat with up to four other friends and play games together. This doesn't just apply to multiplayer games. During the Direct, we saw how players could also share their screens, allowing everyone to see what you're doing in-game at the same time.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVjRBTy5irI

The interface itself looks very similar to Discord's own server streaming feature, where multiple users can hop into a voice channel and share their screens simultaneously. It's worth noting, however, that the Direct footage absolutely did not do Game Chat any favors. The gameplay from the other players looked really choppy, likely because streaming your game to others on the Switch 2 requires a stable internet connection. And if you're doing it over Wi-Fi instead of a wired/LAN connection, the results probably aren't gonna be all that great.

For the concerned parents out there, rest assured that Game Chat will also come with parental controls. You can use the Nintendo Switch mobile app to control who you talk to on Game Chat, and you can set it such that the app will always require your permission before you actually start talking. Conversely, it's also possible to set permissions for specific users so you don't have to jump through the same hoops every time you want to hop into a Game Chat session with them.

Screenshot captured by Destructoid

Finally, Nintendo also announced a first-party microphone that you can connect to the top USB-C port for better mic and voice quality. In addition to that, the Switch 2's new Pro Controller will also come with the C button for easy access to Game Chat.

Overall, Game Chat is a great feature that helps the Switch 2 be a more social and multiplayer-friendly console. I'd probably stick with just voice chat and pass on the actual game streaming feature, though.

Mario Kart World

Here come the Blue Shells. Mario Kart is back, and it's officially a launch title for Nintendo's newest console, the Nintendo Switch 2. Say hello to Mario Kart World.

Nintendo kicked off its official Switch 2 presentation with a look at the new kart racer, which features 24 players in one race, rail grinding, wall jumping, costume changes, and a whole lot more all in one package.

Image via Nintendo

There's also a battle royale-like mode and the same expansive cast of fun characters you'd expect from a Mario Kart game. There's several ways to play the game on top of the base racing experience, so it looks like a true evolution of the franchise.

Mario Kart World will also feature dynamic weather, times of day, and you will be able to drive "virtually anywhere" on the tracks, and free roam in solo or co-op play. One of the cooler-looking features, though, is the ability to drive right to the next track after a race to seamlessly continue the fun.

More about Mario Kart World will be detailed in another Nintendo Direct on April 17, but the confirmation of the game along with the fact that it will be a launch title for the new console is some exciting news for gamers everywhere.

Keep it tuned to Destructoid for more info on the Switch 2, Mario Kart World, and all of your gaming news.

matador monetoo and precious chest reward in atocpan

Matador Monetoo is a puzzle mechanic that you can find while exploring Atocpan in Genshin Impact. It is similar to the regular Monetoo in Natlan, and completing their challenges will give you chest rewards.

This guide covers the location of all eight Matador Monetoo in Atocpan and explains how to complete their challenge.

All 8 Matador Monetoo locations in Atocpan

Matador Monetoo 1

Teleport to the waypoint southwest of the Stadium of the Sacred Flames and head southeast to find the first Matador Monetoo taunting a Tatankasaur. You can indwell the Saurian and charge at the Monetoo until it retreats to its graffiti on the rock. Next, charge at the rock one time to get a Common Chest, worth two Primogems.

Matador Monetoo 2

Screenshot by Destructoid

Use the teleport waypoint south of the Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker boss and head northwest to find a Matador Monetoo playing with a Tatankasaur near the pool. Indwell the Tatankasaur and chase after the Monetoo using the floating Phlogiston platforms. This will also help you get a Pyroculus. At any rate, keep charging at it until it retreats to the graffiti on the wooden fence to get an Exquisite Chest, worth five Primogems.

Matador Monetoo 3

Teleport to the waypoint east of the Statue of The Seven in Atocpan and pan your camera slightly to the left to find another Matador Monetoo near the cliff. Head over to its location and indwell the nearby Tatankasaur before charging at the Monetoo. However, be careful of your surroundings, as several large boulders will start dropping on you while you're chasing the Matador Monetoo.

Unlike other Matador Monetoo challenges, this one will take you to a floating platform instead of retreating to a graffiti. You will find a Pyroculus and an Exquisite Chest, worth five Primogems, at your destination.

Matador Monetoo 4

Stay in the Tatankasaur form and use the floating platform to get down before heading east to find a Matador Monetoo circling a red tortoise. Ignore the latter and charge at the Monetoo to get the Exquisite Chest reward.

Matador Monetoo 5

Teleport to the Statue of The Seven and head east to discover another Monetoo circling two Tatankasaurs. Indwell one of the Saurians and charge at the Matador until it retreats to the graffiti on the fence near the Statue. Completing this challenge can be slightly troublesome since this Matador Monetoo remains mid-air half the time.

Matador Monetoo 6

remnants of tetenacno monetoo location
Screenshot by Destructoid

Use the southeastern waypoint in the Remnants of Tetenanco and head east to find a group of Saurian Warriors and a Matador Monetoo jumping around the rock. Go to the other side of the rock to find a Tatankasaur and indwell it before charging at the Monetoo. Chase after the creature until it reaches another large rock. Once again, several large boulders will start dropping on you, so be careful.

After you leap from the top of the rock, you will fall into the water, and the Saurian form will end. So you must return to the Saurian Warriors' camp and indwell the Tatankasaur again before chasing after the Matador Monetoo. Completing the challenge will give you a Precious Chest, worth 10 Primogems in Genshin Impact.

Matador Monetoo 7

  • matador monetoo southwest of the remnants of tetenanco
  • destroy the pulverite to reveal the graffiti

Teleport to the waypoint southwest of the Remnants of Tetenacno and head south to find the mischievous creature taunting a Tatankasaur. Indwell the Saurian and charge at it. If you lose sight of the Monetoo while chasing it, head to the small island southeast of where you first found it. Next, destroy the Pulverite to reveal its graffiti before charging at it to get a Precious Chest, worth 10 Primogems.

Monetoo 8

Use the teleport waypoint in northwest Atocpan and head straight to find the last Matador Monetoo at the Hilichurl camp. Ignore all the enemies and charge at the creature to get a Common Chest, worth two Primogems.

That's all for the Atocpan Matador Monetoo locations guide. You can also check out the Matador Monetoo locations in the Ancient Sacred Mountain.

How long are the Disney Dreamlight Valley Easter event rewards available?

The Easter Eggstravaganza event is live from April 2 to 22 in DDV, but you can technically get most of the rewards at any time as long as you have the resources to do so. Most rewards require you to have plenty of Easter Eggs gathered, so as long as you have them, the prizes can be crafted whenever you want.

Other duties, like Wall-E Loves Flowers, don't require any special event items at all, which makes them easy to complete even when it's over. It's certainly easiest to claim all prizes while the event is active to ensure you have enough resources to do so, but you also have the means to tackle them later as long as you have what you need. The Easter Eggstravaganza event is also annual, so it returns each year to give you more opportunities to claim all event rewards.

If you're wondering what to expect next after this event ends, you have the Alice in Wonderland update to look forward to. There's also plenty more in store for the year based on the 2025 roadmap, including more festive events to work on.

Oscar in Schedule 1

Schedule 1 allows you a lot of customization options when it comes to mixing base products with extra resources, and some of them sell for a lot of value.

While the number of base drugs is rather limited in early access, you can mix and match with other items and general products. All you need is a Mixing Station, and this guide will detail the best possible combinations to make with all variants of drugs available in Schedule 1.

Best Marijuana mixes in Schedule 1

While you get access to Weed quite early as it's the first type of drug you get to sell, the true mixing potential will require you to level up. There are four variants, and here are the four best mixes to make.

The valuation of the products will depend on your negotiating skills. Customers will pay more for items with a higher number of effects. Make sure to counter these combinations and make the highest profit possible.

How to mix recipes in Schedule 1?

To mix different recipes in Schedule 1, you'll need a Mixing Station, and mixers, along with the drug (which serves as the base material). You'll unlock Mixing Station as you level up. After placing it in a room, add the drug you want. Then, add a mixer you want to complete the process. You'll get back a drug of the same type, but the strain will be different.

A strain of any drug will increase its value when you add a mixer to it, as it unlocks additional effects. If you want to raise it's value, use that particular strain in the Mixing Station once again, and add another mixer (with a different effect). If you follow the recipes mentioned in the tables above, you'll unlock advanced strains with higher market price and sale value.
