Logitech Pro X TKL Rapid review - peak performance with some design flaws

Logitech is taking a massive leap and entering the Hall Effect keyboard market with the Pro X TKL Rapid. This board also has the latest in-demand features like rapid trigger and key priority built in. These new features are quickly becoming commonplace in gaming keyboards, but this effort from Logitech feels very basic, even for a first venture into Hall Effect design.

Price is also a factor holding the Logitech Pro X TKL Rapid from being one of the best gaming keyboards, as its relatively plain design does very little to justify the $170 price, although its build quality is mostly very good, bar some minor key wobble concerns. Granted, OLED screens, a wealth of RGB zones, wireless connections, and more in-depth media controls aren't what make or break a gaming keyboard, but they are nice to have when considering the level of investment.

First melted Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 power cable reported, could be user error

There's a new report about an Nvidia GeForce graphics card causing a power supply cable to melt, but this time it's not a high-end RTX 4090 or RTX 5090 GPU doing the damage but a much more modest RTX 5070. The RTX 5070 melting cable was reported by a Japanese buyer who documented the damage done by the card and cable combination on their X (formerly Twitter) account.

The user shows pictures and video of an RTX 5070 - which is currently Nvidia's best graphics card for those seeking a mid-range card - along with the PC it was installed in, complete with a melted cable. However, while there are still reasons to be somewhat concerned about the ongoing troubles with the 12VHPWR/12V-2x6 standard used by these cards, in this instance the fault largely seems to be from user error or a manufacturing error from the Zotac graphics card.

Ex Concord dev praises Bungie for

A former Concord developer has commended Bungie for taking a risk with Marathon, saying the game "isn't proven, nor guaranteed to succeed." The Halo and Destiny maker unveiled new gameplay for it's highly anticipated extraction shooter over the weekend, with many potential players questioning the studio's wider pricing and content decisions. Bungie is launching Marathon as a premium but not "full-priced" game with a battle pass, which has led to some calling it a potential 'Concord 2.0.' Now, a Firewalk Studios developer has stepped in to praise Bungie's effort.

Valve just proved you can't trust its Steam Deck game ratings

Valve is quietly backtracking on the Steam Deck rating for Spider-Man 2 after it was controversially upgraded to Verified in February. More embarrassing is that the reason for this demotion is exactly what the community fed back within hours of the game being Verified.

While some of the best Steam Deck games don't necessarily run at a buttery smooth 60fps with high graphical settings, there is an expectation that Verified games don't require tinkering of any kind. When Spider-Man 2 was Verified following patch three, waves of player feedback suggested this was a mistake, and now it appears that Valve agrees.

Far Cry 2 is the best game in the entire series, and you can get it for $3

Far Cry 3 gets all the plaudits, but in hindsight, it marks a regrettable turning point in Ubisoft's outdoors FPS series - if the bloatedness, wackiness, and directionlessness of Far Cry 6 finally proved too much for people, it all started with FC3, a game of contradictory ideas and empty, junk 'content.' After a rough couple of years, thanks to Assassin's Creed Shadows, Ubisoft's fortunes might finally be turning around, but I still sense that the studio's best days are in the past. Released 17 years ago, Far Cry 2, easily the greatest game in the series, and one of Ubi's finest works is yours for less than $3.

The Escape From Tarkov Arena system requirements are suspiciously low

The Escape From Tarkov Arena system requirements have been released, now that the game is officially in early access, and they're shockingly low. For a shooter releasing in 2025, the system memory and GPU options listed are very accessible, but with no performance targets to offer further context, we have some concerns about what the gameplay experience will be like with this hardware.

While you won't need to buy the best graphics card to meet the recommended specs for Escape From Tarkov Arena, it's the minimum tier that has us raising our eyebrows. Early access is a likely contributor to these specs reading a little weird, and the lack of any expected frame rate or resolutions being listed isn't helping either.

Primarily, Lushfoil Photography Sim is – spoilers – a photography sim. Then it's a walking sim. Then it's a photography sim again. Then more walking. Then it's a photography teacher, and a very calm and cool one at that; the kind that would lay down in liquid mud to shoot a daffodil at just the right angle, then get back up and say "Ahhh, that's lovely" in a gentle New Zealand accent.

This specific quality accounted for much of my initial interest, being someone who owns a DSLR yet has no clue what half the buttons are for. Lushfoil Photography Sim is a pretty effective instructor, though by choosing a series of stonkingly gorgeous natural beauty spots as its classrooms, it's even more effective at provoking a general wanderlust that has – repeatedly but quite happily – derailed my studies.

Much coverage of Sid Meier's Civilization VII has compared the Firaxis 4X to Amplitude's 2021 release Humankind. As our dirty turncoat strategy game columnist Sin Vega briefly explores in her review for Eurogamer, the game's Age structure, which hands you a new culture at intervals in each campaign, is reminiscent of Humankind's Era transitions.

Developers Firaxis have elsewhere observed that the impression of Civ cribbing notes from Humankind is an unfortunate coincidence. According to an interview with executive producer Dennis Shirk last year, the Civ 7 team came up with the concept on their own, pitching it to parent company 2K Games mere days after Amplitude unveiled Humankind. It's also, of course, worth reiterating that as a historical 4X, Humankind takes plenty of cues from older Civilizations. Still, Amplitude co-founder Romain de Waubert de Genlis was tickled pink when he saw Humankind cited in Civ 7 reviews. "That was probably the best compliment I ever got when I read some of these articles on Civ 7," he told me during an interview about Amplitude's forthcoming Endless Legend 2, adding "I did not see that coming, to be frank."

Metal Gear Solid Sniper Wolf Bishoujo Figure Is Back

The Kotobukiya Bishoujo series figure of Sniper Wolf from Metal Gear Solid is back, with more stock on its way first to Japan before appearing again worldwide. The figure released on April 14, 2025, and it costs 17,600 yen (or about $122.93). It shows up in other regions in May 2025, and it will cost $119.99 when it does.

At the time of writing, the figure appears as sold-out on the Kotobukiya Japanese online store. However, the official Kotobukiya social media has been updating which physical stores in Japan still have stock available. It is important to note that availability in regions other than Japan might vary.

The Sniper Wolf figure features the titular boss character from the original Metal Gear Solid game. She is sitting on a crate, holding her sniper rifle on her left hand, while a wolf cub peeks from inside a hole in the box. In the previews, Sniper Wolf's foot is resting on a box of ammunitions. However, the sniper, crate, and ammunitions box are separate parts from the figure, and they can be moved freely to tweak the arrangement.

Check out the Kotobukiya Bishoujo figure of Sniper Wolf here:

The last time the popular figure received a re-release was on October 2024, with its launch date set for April 2025. With the new batch coming out in Japan, the figure is now receiving new units in-store for those that missed the pre-order window last year.

The Metal Gear Solid Bishoujo figure of Sniper Wolf costs 17,600 yen (~$122.93) and is now available in Japan.

Sephiroth Gets His Masamune Sword in New FFVII Ever Crisis Chapter

Square Enix announced that we'll finally get to see how Sephiroth got the sword Masamune in a Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis update to the FFVII The First Soldier storyline. Everything comes up in Episode 2, Chapter 3, which will launch in-game on April 16, 2025. However, given that it appears at 7pm PT/10pm ET, it's possible most of us won't actually play and see it until April 17, 2025.

To go along with the update, there's a new teaser trailer on social media. It only consists of clips from the chapter's story scenes. In it, Sephiroth is heading into ruins with Alissa, Angeal, and Bachman. Both Alissa and Angeal seem cautious about the endeavor, hinting at the danger. Meanwhile, a fight we'll face is hinted at by Bachman, as he notes the group needs to defeat monsters sealed in statues to access the sword. Things close out with a cinematic of Sephiroth approaching his trademark sword in FFVII The First Soldier.

Here's the full FFVII Ever Crisis teaser:

https://twitter.com/FFVII_EC_EN/status/1910890629774921757

There's no word yet on what sorts of banners we might see accompany this update. However, some Easter and spring-themed equipment like Lucia's Dealer's Tailcoat, her Rifle of the Hunt, Cid's Dark Flyer, and his Dragoon Lance are available on a banner until April 30, 2025. We also saw Loveless-inspired items at the start of 2025.

Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is available on PCs and mobile devices, and the FFVII The First Soldier chapter involving Sephiroth and Masamune debuts on April 16, 2025.

Touhou 20 Kinjoukyou Fossilized Wonders - main menu

ZUN, the original creator of Touhou Project who also runs Team Shanghai Alice, revealed the series' 20th mainline entry. The new game will appear under the title Touhou Kinjoukyou: Fossilized Wonders, and it will be available in mid-August 2025 at Comic Market 106 in Japan. A release outside of Comiket hasn't been announced yet.

To mark the major milestone of reaching the 20th mainline entry, ZUN will release Fossilized Wonders as an orthodox shoot 'em up game with linear stage progressions and multiple difficulty levels. The new game will also feature Wonder Stones that can provide additional kinds of support attacks.

Here's an initial screenshot showing how it will look:

Touhou 20 Kinjoukyou Fossilized Wonders - gameplay screen featuring Wonder Stones

Fossilized Wonders will also return to the series' roots by having only Reimu and Marisa as the two available player characters. However, ZUN will still offer a decent amount of gameplay variations by adding eight Main Story Stones that the player can choose from at the beginning of a playthrough.

The preceding 19th mainline entry in 2023, Touhou Juuouen: Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost, primarily featured a versus mode with numerous playable characters. The gameplay system transition between the 19th and 20th entries is thus reminiscent of that between the 2005 9th entry—Touhou Kaeizuka: Phantasmagoria of Flower View—and the 2007 10th entry—Touhou Fujinroku: Mountain of Faith.

Touhou Kinjoukyou: Fossilized Wonders will appear first via a demo version release at the 22nd Hakurei Shrine Reitaisai event at Tokyo Big Sight on May 5, 2025. The full PC release will follow later at Comic Market 106, which will take place at the same venue on August 16-17, 2025. Team Shanghai Alice will also release the game digitally worldwide on Steam after that, as the company has done with past entries in the shoot'em up series.

Magic the Gathering Magic Spotlight Final Fantasy Event Announced

Wizards of the Coast will bring the Magic Spotlight event to Japan in order to celebrate the Magic the Gathering Final Fantasy set of cards. The free-to-enter event will take place in Chiba, Japan, with people able to enter while there is space between June 27–29, 2025. This will happen the same month the crossover debuts. Registration begins on the official site at 8pm PT/11pm ET on April 16, 2025, which is 12pm JST on April 17, 2025, on a site that opens on April 15, 2025.

While details are still slim, Wizards of the Coast did confirm the Magic Spotlight: Final Fantasy event will include a two-day tournament that costs money to enter, a type of card as a prize, and "side events." In the case of the match-up, the prize pool consists of $50,000. Everyone who pays to enter gets a "non-foil Japanese-language borderless promo card" of one of the Final Fantasy cards from the new set. Those in the top 128 each get one traditional foil version of that card. The top eight winners will be able to take part in Pro Tour Edge of Eternities. That will be held between September 26-28, 2025, with people needing to head to MagicCon in Atlanta, Georgia to compete.

As a reminder, this is one of many crossovers for Magic the Gathering. One involved Assassin's Creed. Another featured Doctor Who. Lord of the Rings showed up too. Hatsune Miku and SpongeBob appeared on cards as well.

The Magic the Gathering Final Fantasy set will launch on June 13, 2025, and pre-orders are open

The graphics of Final Fantasy VII were ground-breaking for the time, but were polygonal and not the most realistic. With the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, Square Enix recreating the classic cast with more realistic in-game character models. The company is now discussing character models and poses from FFVII Rebirth, the second part in this trilogy, and shared on the official social media account how a goal with Barret Wallace was to ensure he looked fit.

As translated by Siliconera, Square Enix's post explained, "Barret carries a lot of bulky equipment around his waist, so we had to fine-tune his poses to make sure he looks well-built and not gassy. Because he bears a lot of responsibility, it seems fitting for him to stand tall and carry himself with confidence."

Here are the official model poses Square Enix shared as examples to show how Barret FFVII Rebirth character model poses were designed to show him at his best.

Final Fantasy VII Remake launched in 2020 for PlayStation 4, and in 2021 as Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade for PlayStation 5, and PC. It will also be available for the Nintendo Switch 2. FFVII Rebirth is available on the PS5 and PC.

Tengen Uzui's Wives Are 1 Character in Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2

The Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui has three wives in the Demon Slayer manga and anime, and in the new The Hinokami Chronicles 2 game they will appear together as one character. Aniplex, Sega, and CyberConnect 2 shared a video on YouTube highlighting the trio as they face off against the Upper Rank Six demon Gyutaro. These heroines are making their debut in this installment, as they weren't in the first game.

Based on the trailer, it seems like Hinatsuru is the primary character, and Tengen Uzui's other two wives are pulled into the fight depending on the attacks used. Hinatsuru, Makio, and Suma are kunoichi and use kunai to attack, though we also see Hinatsuru use her crossbow during this footage. This is a nod to her actual fight against Gyutaro in the series, as she used the same move against him there. The finishing move involves all three women striking at once. While Hinatsuru and Makio pull off their attacks flawlessly, the dazed Gyutaro hits Suma in the face. This causes her to respond emotionally and beat him up for it.

Here's the full Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 trailer showing gameplay of Tengen Uzui's wives Hinatsuru, Makio, and Suma.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LF7rph46174&ab_channel=%E3%82%A2%E3%83%8B%E3%83%97%E3%83%AC%E3%83%83%E3%82%AF%E3%82%B9%E3%83%81%E3%83%A3%E3%83%B3%E3%83%8D%E3%83%AB

There will be 40 characters in Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2, with many new ones joining returning fighters. Some of the new ones have been revealed via trailers gradually like this. For example, at the end of March 2025, Aniplex, CyberConnect 2, and Sega confirmed the Hashira Obanai Iguro, Sanemi Shinazugawa, and Gyomei Himejima would all be playable.

Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 will come to the Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on August 5, 2025, and those who pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition can start playing on July 31, 2025. The first game is available on those six platforms.

Gundam Mobile Suit Coursebook - CE70-75 Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Series Arc book

Tatsumi Group has published a mook (magazine-book) that compiles information about the Mobile Suits from the Gundam SEED sub-series. The book's full title is Gundam Mobile Suit Coursebook - C.E.70-75 Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Series Arc. As implied by the covered years, it also includes units from the 2024 movie Gundam SEED Freedom.

The 160-page book covers not only Mobile Suits but also the pilot characters and other vehicles. But as the title implies, only the Mobile Suit pages will appear in color, with the other sections available in grayscale.

This book also includes content from most of the Cosmic Era side stories and MSV (Mobile Suit Variation) entries, such as C.E.73 Stargazer and the Astray sub-series up to VS Astray and Princess of the Sky. But while it obviously does not include the upcoming Gundam SEED Freedom Zero movie and the newly ongoing Gundam SEED Freedom Astray manga, the recently concluded Gundam SEED Eclipse is also notably missing from the lineup.

The book has a price tag of ¥1,980 (~$13.85), and it is available for purchase via Rakuten Books and Amazon Japan. The latter has also been confirmed to support international shipments for this book.

This SEED sub-series book is actually the fourth one in Tatsumi's Gundam Mobile Suit compilation books, but it is the first one to feature an alternate universe outside of Universal Century. The group first published a book that focused on the U.C.0079-0080 One Year War era in August 2021. It then followed up with another book in November 2022 that covered U.C.0083-0087 era units from Stardust Memory, Zeta Gundam, and Gundam ZZ. The third book, published in September 2023, featured units in the U.C.0093-0097 period from Char's Counterattack, Gundam Unicorn, Twilight Axis, and Gundam Narrative.

The Gundam Mobile Suit Coursebook - C.E.70-75 Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Series Arc book is now available for purchase.

Sylus Birthday Event Begins in Love and Deepspace

Infold Games kicked off the second character birthday event in Love and Deepspace for 2025, as the Sylus five-star Lunar Memory banner and "Where Hearts Live" event are available until April 20, 2025. As part of this, it's also possible to claim 10 free pulls on the limited gacha and earn a three-star Lunar Memory from the event. He will also "call" you on his birthday.

The Sylus birthday event in Love and Deepspace isn't all that different from the Rafayel one held in the otome game in March 2025. There is a new story tied to it and an ingredient-gathering minigame involving moving Mephisto the crow back and forth at the bottom of a stage to collect parts to create a cake. The cake you make will then be used in the limited storyline and acquired for Sylus' "room." You also earn points for an event shop that includes banner pull tickets, the three-star Memory called , a pose for him, an outfit for him, a title, and an array of booster items.

Here's the trailer for the event, which highlights the minigame, the photo pose reward, and the five-star Lunar Memory.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuwac7KaH8U&ab_channel=LoveandDeepspace

To get the free pulls, you don't need to do anything but log into the game. If you check your inbox, you'll find 10 pulls as a "gift" from Sylus' underlings Luke and Kieran. If you don't use these before the event period ends, they will turn into tickets for the standard banner.

The birthday events in the game tend to follow this sort of pattern. Typically, there's a Lunar Memory to earn, a cake to make, and a story. A banner also accompanies it. So for Rafayel's 2025 "Until Twilight" one, the new Memory was called Boundless Seas. We could also pull for his older Memory from last year called Unforgettable Adventure.

Love and Deepspace is available for mobile devices, and the Sylus birthday event runs until April 20, 2025.

Lunar Remastered Collection Review

If you were a Sega CD owner back in the day, you would have spent a lot of money on an add-on that didn't seem to get much respect. Nevertheless, you could weather all of the jokes about FMV games and barely-enhanced Genesis ports because you were privy to a well-kept secret: the JRPGs were great. The Lunar games were every RPG-loving Sega CD owner's dream, should they have been lucky enough to get their hands on them, and now we can see why with the Lunar Remastered Collection with the first two games.

However, it's a bit of a miracle they exist. The PlayStation remakes of those two Lunar games put them in front of a much wider audience. Things were looking golden for the series, but for whatever reason things faltered. Developer Game Arts moved on to the Grandia series, Western publisher Working Designs shut down after a few bad bounces, and it seemed like every attempt to get Lunar going again met with misfortune. Even getting the existing JRPGs reissued proved to be difficult due to some complications with the rights. The first Lunar game has popped its head up now and then over the years, such as with a PSP remake titled Lunar: Silver Star Harmony. The PlayStation remake was ported to mobile devices. The sequel Lunar: Eternal Blue has not appeared again since Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete on the PlayStation. That was almost a quarter of a century ago.

Lunar Remastered Collection - Meribia Town JRPGs

With that in mind, the mere existence of Lunar Remastered Collection is worth celebrating. For whatever nits I may have to pick, and I have a few, just having Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete widely available on your platform of choice is great. These remakes already included a bunch of improvements to the originals, and they hold up extremely well. This collection makes a couple of excellent quality of life improvements that you are free to use or ignore. The presentation has also been put through the remastering process, but this too is all optional.

One major new feature is the ability to speed up battles. There are three settings, and you will likely never want to stay at the original speed. Lunar's battles were always rather slow to play out, so this speed setting is a godsend. The other cool addition is a more flexible inventory system. You don't have to have items in a character's personal inventory to use them in battles anymore. There are various graphical settings you can tweak as well, and you can play either game with remastered widescreen visuals or in the classic 4:3 style with crisp pixels. Saves carry over, so you can swap between the versions as you like.

Lunar Remastered Collection - Eternal Blue battle JRPGs
Screenshot by Siliconera

Indeed, the only change that isn't optional here is the English voice acting. The original cast's work isn't included for either game, presumably due to rights issues. Instead, we get a completely new set of voice actors. They all do a generally good job, though I would be lying if I said I didn't miss some of the more iconic performances like John Truitt's Ghaleon. Since the games mainly use the original Working Designs localizations, the actors are stuck with the lines as originally written. It sometimes sounds awkward. If it bothers you too much, you can always switch over to Japanese voices.

The JRPGs themselves are both awesome, especially considering the context. I personally prefer Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete to the first game, but you should play both. The plots and characters of both games are so far ahead of most of their contemporaries that they still come off well a decades later. The pacing of both games is brisk, and the battles are satisfyingly challenging. Some of the gameplay mechanics play it safe, but everything is done to a high enough level of quality that it's hard to complain.

Lunar Remastered Collection - Quark's always ready to share his "diamonds" with you. JRPGs

I would have liked more granular options similar to those in the mobile version of Lunar. The difficulty of these games varies wildly by the version, and it would be nice to be able to tweak that like you can on mobile. Since these games use the PlayStation versions as their base, the shimmering issue they have persists here. Some aspects of the localization also feel dated, mostly due to Working Designs' penchant for pop culture references.

Even with some flaws, Lunar Remastered Collection is a great way to play these two JRPG classics. If you haven't played them before, I strongly recommend doing so. Those who have played them probably don't need me to give them a push. Welcome back, Lunar.

Lunar Remastered Collection will be available on April 18th, 2025 for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam.

The Ghost in the Shell New Anime Series Coming in 2026

A new anime adaptation of The Ghost in the Shell manga will appear in 2026, and studio Science SARU will be in charge of animating it. A new key visual featuring protagonist and Public Security Section 9 agent Major Motoko Kusanagi was revealed, alongside a short teaser.

The full official Japanese name for the anime is Kokaku Kidotai: The Ghost in the Shell. Moko-chan will be in charge of directing the new show, and this will be their directorial debut after working as assistant director in Dan Da Dan, and his work on Scott Pilgrim Takes Off.

Additionally, the script will be written by Toh EnJoe, with Shuhei Handa working as the character designer and executive animation director, who created the key visual. The teaser trailer is a bit short of a minute long, and it features various concept art of locations and characters such as Batou and Section 9 leader Daisuke Aramaki.

Check out the teaser here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rk27MbUoBQ8

You can see the key visual below.

The original manga creator Masamune Shirow offered a comment about the new production, in which he said the following:

"In terms of anime adaptations, this is the fourth Ghost in the Shell project following Oshii's, Kamiyama's and Kise's. You could also consider it the 10th version if you count Ghost in the Shell (1995), Innocence, the Stand Alone Complex first and second seasons and Solid State Society, the Arise series, new movie, and first and second seasons of SAC_2045.

Considering the change in production staff, you could say it's the first work in a second generation. The original manga is old, so I ask that you understand that (my apologies.) I genuinely hope you will be able to enjoy it as a good visual work."

The Ghost in the Shell anime adaptation is currently in production and will be coming in 2026. More information on the new project will appear at a later date. Some past anime adaptations are on Crunchyroll.

February 2025 State of Play Covers New PS5 Games Tomorrow Amazon Listing for PS5 Pro Pre-orders Goes Live

Sony announced changes in price for the PlayStation 5 and the cost of the optional PS5 disc drive for Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and the UK. Certain variants of the console will be more expensive in locations in those regions. However, the disc drive price will be going down. It cited "high inflation" and "exchange rates" as the reasons for the changes. This means it will be closer in price to a Switch 2 in some places, which is €469/£395/AUD $699.95. PS5 Pros are unaffected.

In Europe and the UK, only the PS5 Digital Edition price is increasing, as the disc drive cost goes down in both regions. It will be €499.99, rather than €399.99. In the UK, it will be £429.99 instead of £359.99. The peripheral will now be €79.99 and  £69.99, as it previously cost €119.99 and £99.99.

In Australia and New Zealand, both PlayStation 5 models, such as the standard one and PS5 Digital Edition, will cost more. One without a disc drive will be AUD $749.95 and NZD $859.95, while ones with will be AUD $829.95 and NZD $949.95. As for the new, lower disc drive prices, those will now be AUD $124.95 and NZD $139.95.

Only these regions are affected so far. Sony didn't mention any changes for countries in Asia or North America yet. It's unknown if those could also be affected.

The PlayStation 5 Digital Edition and standard model, as well as the PS5 disc drive, are available worldwide, and prices in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and the UK go up on April 14, 2025.

The first Call of Duty: Black Ops game came out almost 15 years ago. Time flies when you're redacting intel. But it's time to celebrate it in Black Ops 6 with a new limited-time, free event.

Once all of the above rewards are unlocked, you gain access to the two Mastery rewards for the event: the Nail Gun special secondary weapon and John Black Ops operator skin. Make sure you claim all the other rewards and that all XP thresholds have been passed. Just use up those double XP tokens you've been accumulating, and you should get them all done quickly.

Nail Gun in BO6 and Warzone
Image via Activision

"Stick it to them with this handy tool configured with a magazine of 15 nails that fires at full auto," Activision said of the Nail Gun, another weapon from Warzone's past. "The damage drops off quickly after 25 meters and performs best up close. The Nail Gun's low muzzle velocity can make it difficult to land shots against fast moving targets, so get them in your sights and unload before they know what hit them."

The Nail Gun had its reign in Verdansk as an annoying sidearm to use, and it's back once more with its own unlockable camos once you grab it for free via the event. It also includes Mastery Badges and 30 levels of progression.

If you miss it in the event, it can later be unlocked as an Armory Unlock in BO6, so don't worry if you miss out. Black Ops Tribute begins on April 17 and will run until May 1 in BO6 and Warzone.

What do the Swim Trunks in Blue Prince?

The Swim Trunks on their own don't have any use. You can neither use them nor combine them to produce something else. That doesn't automatically mean that they're completely useless. In fact, finding these trunks will automatically spawn something in the Pool room.

The Pool usually has coins available at the bottom. They will be replaced by a couple of floating Trunks (the container, not the Swim Trunks). You can open these trunks through a couple of different methods.

How to open Locked Trunks in Blue Prince?

The first way is to use keys to open them. Ordinary keys will work just fine, but it's better to save them to open doors. Opening doors in Blue Prince is far more important, as it will get you closer to your final goal.

A better method is to use the sledgehammers. You can find this item in certain rooms, but it ultimately depends on luck. In case you can't find one in your room, you can just buy them from the Commissary. While this method requires Gold Coins, it's far more effective. Moreover, once you buy the Sledgehammer, you can use it as many times as you like.

Trunks can include valuable items in them, including Gold Coins and Dice. It's all down to luck on what you might get. If you'd like to see more, here are all the items and their locations in Blue Prince.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Cheshire Cat

Disney Dreamlight Valley's Alice in Wonderland update is set to arrive in 2025. Over time, Gameloft has released teasers for what's to come, from revealing how the Cheshire Cat is involved in some way to showing off themed furniture items with unknown functions.

Jumping to April, we now have an official release date for this update. Whether you're a fan of Alice in Wonderland or just want to experience new Disney Dreamlight Valley content, we've got just the information you need about the upcoming Wonderland Whimsy update.

When is the Alice in Wonderland update coming out in DDV?

Gameloft has confirmed Disney Dreamlight Valley's Alice in Wonderland update will launch on April 23, 2025. While the team previously announced this update would launch sometime in Spring 2025, their April 14 developer update has since confirmed the exact day.

https://youtu.be/ZMMvpK6vLM4

While they haven't confirmed an exact release time, previous Disney Dreamlight Valley updates have launched at 9 a.m. ET. This one will likely follow the same trend, but we won't know for certain until April 23.

[hurrytimer id="1051907"]

Previously, Gameloft revealed a DDV content roadmap highlighting an Early 2025 update—later known as Tales of Agrabah—as Disney Dreamlight Valley's first content patch of the year. Tales of Agrabah launched on Feb. 26, with the next expected to appear around two months later. The Spring 2025 update is now known as Wonderland Whimsy, an Alice in Wonderland update involving the Cheshire Cat and Alice herself.

All Wonderland Whimsy update features

Now that we have an official trailer for Disney Dreamlight Valley's Alice in Wonderland update, known officially as Wonderland Whimsy, we can also detail every feature announced during it. Below are some of its key highlights:

  • Alice and the Cheshire Cat are coming to Dreamlight Valley!
  • The Garden of Whimsy Star Path is also arriving, featuring Spring and Alice in Wonderland-themed items.
  • Complete the Cheshire Cat's friendship quests to unlock the Uncrafting Station, letting you refund an item's crafting cost in exchange for Dreamlight.
  • You can now expand storage chests using Dreamlight.
  • Additional furniture placing options on surfaces like tables and nightstands.
  • Star Wars-themed items are coming to the Premium Shop.

Since this is an Alice in Wonderland update, it's no surprise that some of the story's characters are arriving in Disney Dreamlight Valley. While teasers hinted at the Cheshire Cat coming to this update, we now know that Alice herself will also be here. You'll be able to unlock them by accessing Alice's realm and completing its questline.

Image via Gameloft

The trailer also confirms the Star Path name and theme. The Garden of Whimsy Star Path is a nature-themed event featuring Spring items, a new companion, and Alice in Wonderland furniture to unlock. While there's no public list of every item coming to the Star Path, we can anticipate similar patterns and task types from previous iterations.

The Alice in Wonderland update primarily affects Disney Dreamlight Valley's base game. Although we may discover small secrets in other areas, this update's focus is on Alice's Realm and the Cheshire Cat's riddles, which will appear over several weeks.

Major Storybook Vale changes are planned to arrive this Summer during the Unwritten Realms storyline addition. This update is completely separate from the Wonderland Whimsy one, so we'll likely only see changes in the base game. Only time will tell how everything unfolds.

Overwatch 2 Hanaoka Clash

A totally new mode is coming to Overwatch 2 in season 16, and will become the third main mode in the game behind Quick Play and Competitive Play.

Stadium looks to bring an all-new perspective, new power-ups and abilities, and in-game builds to its selectable heroes to make sure every match is different depending on how you choose to play it, including choosing between third-person and first-person viewpoints.

Here's everything we know about OW2's Stadium mode so far ahead of its launch on April 22.

Overwatch 2 Stadium mode explained

Image via Blizzard Entertainment

Stadium is a completely new game mode in OW2, starting in season 16. It's a round-based mode with upgrades to earn and purchase in between rounds, similar to games like VALORANT or Counter-Strike 2.

Stadium is played in a best-of-seven format, featuring three game modes on specific maps, with a specific pool of heroes, its own ranked mode and system, and the ability to play entirely in third-person perspective.

Third-person perspective

Overwatch 2's new Stadium mode gives players a taste of canceled PvE skill trees, plus a whole lot more
Image via Blizzard Entertainment

Third-person is the default perspective for Stadium, though you can switch to first-person any time you like. However, Blizzard suggests third-person due to the hectic nature of the new mode and its new abilities.

"Stadium is a complex game mode, and you'll need to be able to know what is going on around you," Blizzard says. "There may be times when lava will spray across the walkways, multiple biotic orbs will fly across the area, or a giant death ray from orbit will come crashing down on you from behind."

Stadium will have its own settings in the game options, allowing for adjustments to FOV and other visual options.

Stadium Cash currency

Through gameplay in Stadium, you will earn Stadium Cash that you can use to purchase upgrades in the Armory in between rounds. To begin each game, you will have 3,500 Stadium Cash to use, and performing well throughout the match will give you more cash to use in the Armory to upgrade your hero.

Items and Powers in OW2 Stadium's Armory

Image via Blizzard Entertainment

There are two types of upgrades in Stadium, and they're called Items and Powers.

Items are power-ups that enhance a hero's weapons, abilities, or survivability, and you can equip up to six of them at a time. Powers are "transformative modifiers" that can grant "unique passives, modifiers, or whole new abilities."

Some Powers revealed by Blizzard include "Reinhardt sending lava across the arena with Firestrike, or Kiriko being able to clone herself and leaving opponents seeing double." Powers do not cost Stadium Cash, but once it's equipped, it can't be removed.

Items and Powers are combined to make unique builds for each hero as the game wears on, but there are also Example Builds that players can equip to make things easier and more streamlined to play.

Brawl Stars characters

Brawl Stars' first-ever P2W (Play to Win) event is here, and it's all about skill, not spending. Smash through challenges, land clean knockouts, and earn sweet gems along the way. Here's a look into all Brawl Stars P2W rewards and milestones.

How to play the Brawl Stars Play to Win event

Before we dive into the rewards, here's how the event works. The goal is simple: score as many takedowns as possible to push the event's progression bar. Every time it hits one billion knockouts, a new milestone unlocks. Sounds like a massive number? Don't worry—you're not alone. This is a united community challenge, so everyone's takedowns count. Work together, rack 'em up, and watch the rewards roll in.

To track how many takedowns have been acquired, go to the News tab to see the event's progress bar. At the time of writing, the bar is already approaching the one billion mark, allowing you to pick up rewards later on.

Brawl Stars P2W progress bar
Screenshot by Destructoid

It doesn't matter which mode you participate in, just as long as you earn plenty of knockouts with any Brawler. You can also take advantage of the upcoming Double XP, Mastery Madness, Double Daily Starr Drops, and Coins Showers events every two days.

What rewards are available in the Brawl Stars P2W event?

You'll need the whole community to keep that progression bar climbing, but the rewards waiting at each milestone make it all worth it. Here's what's up for grabs as the takedowns pile in:

Milestones Rewards
1 billion Five Star Drops
2 billion 1,000 Coins
3 billion Three Presents
4 billion 1,000 Power Points
5 billion One Mythic Starr Drop
6 billion 2,000 Bling
7 billion One Legendary Starr Drop
8 billion 500 Credits
9 billion One Hypercharge Starr Drop
10 billion Ultra Trophy Box
11 billion 10 Starr Drops
12 billion 10 Starr Drops
13 billion and on 10 Starr Drops

Once the community hits a milestone, check the next Shop daily refresh to claim your unique reward. At the 10 billion mark, you'll unlock the powerful Ultra Trophy Box, one of the rarest rewards available. These boxes guarantee an Epic Skin along with plenty of other valuable items. However, you can't claim this box until the event wraps up.

Rewards in Brawl Stars shop
Screenshot by Destructoid

After 10 billion, the rewards shift to a steady stream of 10 Starr Drops. Best of all, there's no cap on rewards while the event is active, so you can keep on with the takedowns to see how far the progression bar goes.

In addition to milestone rewards, you can earn 12 free Brawl Passes by showing off your best play on social media with the "#BrawlStarsP2W" tag. Five lucky players will be chosen after the event's conclusion, giving you a chance to earn more valuables through the Brawl Pass system.

When does the Brawl Stars P2W Community event end?

While the rewards keep coming with no cap in sight, there is one catch: The event wraps up on April 23, 2025, at 9 a.m. UTC. This timeframe gives you and the rest of the community 10 days to reach as many milestones as possible. There should be enough time to get to the 10 million mark. But if not, we could be looking at an extension. For more Brawl Stars content, check out our build guides on Meeple and Kenji.

Schedule 1 Boutique

Schedule 1 has plenty of places to visit if you want to step away from video game drug cartels. Sometimes, going to a boutique to buy some furniture is a nice way to spend your time, especially if your bases of operation are bland and need some upgrades.

However, while Schedule 1's map names its locations, it won't directly pinpoint you to the Boutique unless you have a general idea of where it is. Here's how to find this furniture shop, known in-game as Bleuball's Boutique.

Schedule 1 Bleuball's Boutique location

Bleuball's Boutique is next to Ray's Realty on the south side of Schedule 1's map. If you're starting from the center near the Motel, you can find this location by traveling southeast past Taco Ticklers, the Police Station, and Town Hall. Once you notice the central canal, Gas-Mart, and the Post Office, you'll notice Bleuball's Boutique nearby with its dark blue appearance and golden letters.

Schedule 1 Boutique map location
Screenshot by Destructoid

Bleuball's Boutique is open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, so make sure to visit early in the morning or afternoon to get the most out of this location. Otherwise, if you have a calm day with very few orders from your clients, you can explore this shop before returning to the grind.

Inside Bleuball's Boutique, you'll find Herbert, whom you can interact with to buy his wares or sell products if you have Uptown unlocked. If you haven't unlocked this region, his sample offer will be greyed out, but you can still purchase items from this shop if you wish. Its interior also has several wares out in the open, letting you see exactly how they look before buying them.

You can also occasionally find NPCs like Allison, who'll sit on the couch and relax, giving you another potential customer if you have Suburbia unlocked. In most cases, though, it'll just be Herbert.

All Bleuball's Boutique items and prices in Schedule 1

At the time of writing, Bleuball's Boutique has 22 items you can purchase repeatedly as long as you have the money to pay for them. The exception to this is artwork and the golden toilet, which you can only buy once before they're gone forever. The shop only takes debit, so visit an ATM before shopping here.

Below is a complete list of every item at Bleuball's Boutique, including their prices:

Item Price
Wooden Sign $10
Metal Sign $20
Wall-Mounted Shelf $50
Safe $500
Antique Wall Lamp $100
Modern Wall Lamp $100
Grandfather Clock $3,000
Ol' Man Jimmy's $1,000
Chateau La Peepee $1,500
Brut du Gloop $2,500
Silver Watch $2,000
Gold Watch $5,000
Silver Chain $2,000
Gold Chain $5,000
Gold Bar $10,000
Artwork (Beach Day) $23
Artwork (Menace) $500
Artwork (Offer) $1,000
Artwork (Lines) $3,000
Artwork (Rapscallion) $4,000
Artwork (Millie) $8,000
Gold Toilet $50,000

These items vary in function, from basic decorations to clothing articles like chains and watches for your character to flex their wealth. You'll also find signs to place around your properties and shelves to store up to four additional items.

Best Blue Lock: Rivals Flows and Their Strengths

Every flow in Blue Lock: Rivals has its strengths that make each one suited for specific playstyles. Below, you can find out a bit more about flows and what areas they excel in the most.

S Tier Flows

Prodigy is the best flow in Blue Lock: Rivals for one reason only: it allows you to curve your shots without the Rin style. When you pair it up with styles like Kaiser and Don Lorenzo, you are basically unstoppable on the offense. Emperor and Awakened Genius are equally strong. However, Emperor is more suited for true egoists, while Awakened Genius is more beneficial for creative players.

A Tier Flows

Soul Harvester is a fantastic flow, but we put it in the A tier because it is a tad weaker overall compared to some other flows. Dribbler is one of the best flows for wingers in Blue Lock: Rivals because of the extended dribbles you get with it. Demon Wings makes the Shidou style really shine. However, you can use it effectively with other styles as well. Chameleon reduces your move cooldowns enough for you to get to use your awakening abilities twice in the same window. So, if you are a fan of ultimate moves, grab the Chameleon.

B Tier Flows

The Wild Card is a great flow overall, but its randomness can debilitate you at times. Snake is all about stopping opponents in their tracks, and even though we put it in B-tier, it is the best flow you can get if you like to play as a defender. Crow is a balanced style that offers buffs useful on both ends of the pitch. The Trap flow is weak overall. However, if you pair it up with the Nagi style, you've got yourself a killer offensive style and flow combo.

C Tier Flows

Monster is good when paired up with styles that are all about dribbling past your opponents. King's Instinct is decent for players who like to play as center-forwards in BLR and shoot after just one short dribble. Gale Burst is useful in every position, but there are better options out there. Ice, even though a very common flow, is excellent if you like to create chances for your teammates.

D Tier Flows

Genius, while it doesn't grant you any buffs, it lets the rest of your team use their flows for longer, and that can decide close matches. It requires only about 40% of your flow bar to be used while granting the rest of your team around 120% in total. Puzzle and Lightning are not that good when compared to every other Blue Lock: Rivals flow out there. So, try to reroll them when you can.

How to Use, Reroll, and Store Flows in Blue Lock: Rivals

To use a flow in BLR, press T on your keyboard when you have enough flow bar, which will be visible on your screen. On use, the bar will either drain slowly or completely deplete, depending on your current flow.

To reroll your flow, click on the flow button at the bottom of your screen while in the lobby. Each roll costs 2000 cash or one flow spin if you have some, both of which you can get by redeeming Blue Lock: Rivals codes or by completing quests. If you want to switch between multiple flows, you can also unlock additional flow storage slots and store them.

That's it for our Blue Lock: Rivals flow guide and tier list. For more of our BLR guides, make sure to stay tuned to the Blue Lock: Rivals guides section here on Destructoid.

The outside of the casino in Schedule 1

Schedule 1 has several infinite money glitches you can use to go from rags to riches quickly. Whether you go to the casino or buy and sell gold bars for profit, you can make tons of money without selling to a single customer.

One of the most well-known money-making methods in Schedule 1 is the casino glitch. While the casino usually rigs games so the house always comes out on top, you can easily turn the tides in your favor with one specific strategy.

How to perform the Casino infinite money glitch in Schedule 1

Performing the casino infinite money glitch in Schedule 1 requires saving your game before playing one of the casino's three games. Your best bet is Blackjack, but you can also try your luck on slots for some added fun. If you win, you can save your game again and repeat the process. If you lose, you close and reopen your save, returning to a time before you lost your money.

Schedule 1 alarm for manual saves
Screenshot by Destructoid

This strategy aims to reset any losses you incur to prevent them from happening and save your wins. The easiest spot to do this is at the motel's save spot. You can repeat this endlessly, too, letting you make tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars in a single in-game day if you're efficient and patient enough to do this repeatedly.

The best part? The casino doesn't close until 5 a.m. in-game time. Since the clock pauses at 4 a.m. indefinitely, you can continue using this glitch for as long as your patience allows. You can even make millions if you're committed to the grind. The downside is that you'd either have to make trips back to the motel after every win or risk losing it all again if you go on a loss streak following a few quick wins. How you play out this strategy is entirely up to you, but your safest bet is to save your game, win, save again, and repeat forever.

Which casino game should you play?

If you're going for the safest bet possible to maximize your earnings without experiencing too many losses, your safest bet is playing Blackjack. Unlike slots and Ride the Bus, which are mostly luck-based, Blackjack offers strategies you can use to decide when to stand or hit. Sometimes, you'll get unlucky with the dealer's cards, but you can consistently win if you master Blackjack and know what calls to make.

Schedule 1 casino games
Screenshot by Destructoid

The maximum bet you can make in Blackjack is $1,000. If you win, you'll get $2,500, while a tie gives you your money back. While slots and Ride the Bus have higher win potential, with both giving upwards of $10,000 with max bets, the odds of receiving this much are very low. Ride the Bus, in particular, also relies on two luck-based 50-50 bets, making this a solid option for this glitch but an unfavourable choice for consistent money-making.

Marathon Runner sprinting through an industrial area

Bungie's Marathon reveal over the weekend had a big build-up ahead of it, and I think what the studio showed and announced was a bit underwhelming. But I'm still excited to try the game out.

If you judged Marathon's reception off of social media sentiment, you'd think it was the worst game of all time, "dead on arrival," a waste of time, and other intense overreactions. But that's the state of gaming discourse in 2025, unfortunately. It's an absolute mess, and it's one of the most annoying trends in the industry.

Marathon screenshot showing some sort of public event taking place
Image via Bungie

While a fair amount of gamers like me are waiting to try the game before making harsh judgments, many have written it off entirely after the reveal for a variety of reasons, including everything from not liking the genre to (somehow) thinking the art style is weird. And then there are those who dislike that the game has "ugly" female characters, but they're beyond saving or having discussions with.

Voice your opinion, sure. But chill out a bit. Wishing for a game to fail when claiming you are a gamer is just incredibly reductive. And for those who are farming rage for engagement, let them shout into the ether. Don't engage. Form your own opinions, and play it. Or don't. That's fine. But why does every single reveal feel like the apocalypse of the game industry lately?

If a game isn't for you, that's great. In fact, most gamers are playing years-old games anyway, so feel free to play whatever you like and move on from any potential excitement you had for Marathon. But continuing to harp on a game that you have no interest in playing is the actual waste of time here.

One of the more annoying themes I've seen on social media since the weekend has been comparing Marathon to Concord, Sony's doomed shooter that was taken offline a few weeks after it launched due to a lack of players and interest. I really don't think this is a valid comparison.

For anyone writing this game off as "another Concord" or "doomed to fail," I ask them to look towards Bungie's past games and experiences to see how, even after a rough launch, the team could come back. I hope Marathon works from the get-go (more good games to play is always a good thing), but I don't think it would be the end-all if it needed some updates to flourish.

https://twitter.com/Skarrow9/status/1911617490158821515

Concord also entered a flooded market of free-to-play games in the same genre with a $40 price tag and nothing to really set itself apart from the games it was directly competing with. Marathon has Bungie gunplay and a unique art style, along with (hopefully) some interesting spins on the game type, and mostly positive reactions from those who have played it thus far.

For the reveal, Bungie dropped some creator gameplay footage, a gameplay explainer video, and an incredible cinematic short film. From what I've seen so far, it looks cool, but I'm more excited to play it than anything to see if it hooks me or not. And that will be the key that matters most.

Having said that, I do think that PlayStation (owner of Bungie) can look at Concord as a learning experience for a couple of reasons. The first being, why is Marathon's launch price a mystery? If it's a premium game, let people know the price, or it just looks like it's being hidden with some mysterious intent.

Comparing a $40 Marathon to Concord of the same price isn't relevant, I don't think. Whereas Concord was pure hero shooter multiplayer, Marathon is going for something different with the PvPvE aspect, and eventually, I do think there will be more PvE-centric modes added to the game, which is another thing Bungie flourishes at.

Speaking of Bungie, though, I think the studio and Marathon team should prepare to be receptive to feedback and not push back on so many ideas so soon. I think it's fine now to tell gamers to "wait and see," but I really hope the devs will not be hardheaded about certain approaches to the game if the community gets vocal about changes.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlC31D_Rr-Y

Even though most players know nothing about game dev, they do know what they want to play and how they want a game to feel in order to keep spending money on it. Listening is always a positive, and I don't think there will be as much leeway for Marathon as there was for Destiny when it made multiple comebacks throughout its largely successful live-service periods.

I'm not the biggest fan of extraction shooters myself, at all. None of them have clicked with me yet. For all I know, Marathon will be the exact same, but I am a fan of Bungie's mastery of how gunplay feels in their FPS titles. For all of the faults of Destiny and Destiny 2, the games have always felt phenomenal to play. That's what I dislike about games like Escape From Tarkov or Grey Zone Warfare. If the gunplay feels good, then I'm fairly confident that the game will feel good and keep players interested.

When the closed alpha begins on April 23, I'll hopefully be playing and find myself looking forward to Sept. 23 for Marathon's full launch. But I'll be keeping a close eye on things and hoping that Bungie will be quick to respond to feedback with updates and changes as well.

cartethyia and phrolova in wuthering waves

Several new leaks have surfaced online, sharing the names of all the characters expected to be released in the Wuthering Waves 2.4 to 2.7 updates. These include popular characters like Cartethyia and Phrolova.

Read on for more info on the upcoming characters and their potential release window in Wuwa, as per the leaks.

All new characters in Wuthering Waves 2.4 to 2.7 leaked

Version 2.4

Cartethyia, expected to release in wuthering waves 2.4

According to Stepleaker, the Wuthering Waves 2.4 update will release two new characters, Cartethyia and Lupa. Most of you might already know Cartethyia since she is one of the most important characters in the Rinascita main story. She is expected to be an Aero unit that uses a Sword, which shouldn't be surprising since she used one in the story as well.

Meanwhile, Lupa is a new entity and not much is known about her as she has yet to make an in-game appearance. Leaks suggest that she will likely be a 5-star Fusion unit utilizing a Broadblade.

Version 2.5

You can look forward to two more new characters in Wuthering Waves 2.5. According to Stepleaker, Phrolova will finally release in version 2.5 as a 5-star Havoc Resonator. The leaker did not share her weapon type, but Phrolova could be a Rectifier user since she is usually seen using a Red Spider Lily to control the Tacet Discords.

In addition, version 2.5 might introduce a new female Resonator. Unfortunately, the only information we have on her at the moment is that she could be a 4-star unit, making her the first and only 4-star in Rinascita.

Version 2.6

The Wuthering Waves 2.6 update will also likely release two new 5-star Resonators named Augusta and Younuo. Officially, there's no info on either of them, but both are expected to appear in version 2.4. The leaks suggest that August is a 5-star Electro character with a Broadblade. Meanwhile, Younuo is a 5-star Aero unit that uses Gauntlets.

Version 2.7

As of this writing, only one new character is expected to become playable in version 2.7. Nothing is known about this entity except that it is a 5-star male Resonator.

All the characters and their release windows in Wuthering Waves are based on leaks and are subject to change.

BitLife Kingpin

BitLife's Dealer Pack is about joining a cartel, taking control of the streets, and rising through the ranks to Kingpin or Queenpin. There's a lot of money to make and equally as much danger that can ruin your character's life or even end your playthrough instantly.

How to become a Kingpin or Queenpin in BitLife

You need to own the Dealer job pack to become a Kingpin or Queenpin in BitLife. Without it, you won't have access to cartels or the ranks that come with it. In short, you need to spend money on this expansion pack or Boss Mode to unlock every current and future special career.

Joining a cartel

If you already have the Dealer pack, you'll gain the "dealing" special talent, which will help you succeed quicker in your future cartel. Once you make your character, age them up until they turn 18 before heading into Occupation, Special Careers, and Dealer. Choose any cartel and try to join them for a chance to receive an invite.

BitLife cartel
Screenshot by Destructoid

There's a chance the cartel will deny you entry into their ranks. I got in immediately on my first two dealer characters without committing any crimes since they had the dealer special talent. After trying it with a third, they got denied, with the cartel requesting they get their hands dirty. You can get around this by committing other crimes throughout your character's life, like pickpocketing, shoplifting, or even more challenging ones like train robbery.

In short, if you have a completely average BitLife character with no special talents or criminal history, you can still get into low-infamy cartels without much issue. Anything beyond this requires the dealer special talent and a criminal record. Treat it like joining and getting promoted in the mafia.

Leaving your cartel at any point will lead to your Kingpin ordering the other members to rough up your character. This usually won't kill your character unless they're already at low health, but you'll still need to watch your stats in case you get unlucky and take a ton of damage.

All BitLife cartel ranks and strategies

Once your BitLife character joins their first cartel, you can head into the Job tab to view their infamy, standing, and turf control. Before you can become a Kingpin or Queenpin, you'll have to get through the following ranks:

  • Dealer
  • Runner
  • Manufacturer
  • Lieutenant
  • Kingpin/Queenpin

Since you start as a dealer, your first goal is simple: gain control of your first street. Enter the Turf menu, go through each person, and attempt to sell drugs to them. You'll slowly gain control over the street as you make successful trades.

Reaching 100 percent will impress your Kingpin and often result in an almost immediate promotion to Runner. Otherwise, keep at it for a couple of years until you receive your first promotion.

Succeeding as a dealer

When selling to people on your street, there are three stats to consider: their vices, profession, and willpower. People with your cartel's drug as their vice will make them more willing to buy, so focus on maintaining good relations with them. People with different vices also occasionally say yes, so don't skip them. Having low willpower also makes them more likely to purchase your products, but they'll likely still say no if your inventory doesn't match their preference. Lastly, while most professions are fine, you'll want to avoid cops and rough up rival dealers rather than sell to them.

BitLife turf menu
Screenshot by Destructoid

There's also a chance you'll run into undercover cops throughout your time as a dealer. You can try to run away or cooperate and deal with the jail time. What you do here is entirely up to you, but just be careful as you approach different people.

You'll also have opportunities to choose between selling pure forms of your cartel's drug or ones mixed with other substances. In some cases, you may even have multiple drug types to pick from. Both have their pros and cons; selling mixed versions can make your buyers angry the following year, but they're cheaper to produce, allowing you to lower the costs slightly without much penalty. I tend to stick to selling pure forms, but you can safely experiment without much issue.

After gaining control of your first street, assuming you don't annoy your lieutenants and Kingpin or Queenpin, you'll get a promotion to Runner. Becoming a runner unlocks Supply Runs as your next primary money-making method. You can keep selling on the streets for extra money, but supply runs are your go-to for your next promotion.

How to perform supply runs

Supply runs are tricky in BitLife, as losing products with the wrong packaging or drops happens often. A lot of this is luck-based, but there are a few areas to focus on:

  • Have good packaging that's unlikely to break and will fit the products.
  • Call attention to contacts that try to take some of the drugs.
  • Pick quiet locations for your drop location.
  • Don't wait too long for a good drop location.

BitLife packaging event during a supply run
Screenshot by Destructoid

Packaging is an important part of the run, as you can easily lose product in poor packaging. I often struggle with this part, too. Fortunately, it won't completely kill your run as long as the rest of the process goes smoothly. Nonetheless, I've had success with options like hollowed-out pens, tubes of mascara, and deodorant cases, while options like pool noodles, mason jars, and pizza boxes often fail. The more fragile something is, the more likely it is to be considered poor packaging.

The next thing that often happens is a cartel contact trying to take some of the product for themselves. Call attention to this immediately, as you'll usually get some extra supplies as an apology. It won't always succeed, but your odds are high.

Another option you might find is a random event where you and your cartel take part in some leisure. I usually pick the options that are safest for my character or the product, and I haven't run into many issues here.

BitLife supply run thief
Screenshot by Destructoid

Lastly, and by far the most important aspect, is your drop location. While there is a degree of randomness here, you'll want to focus on quiet locations. Below are some examples that often succeed for me:

  • Rural areas
  • Graveyards
  • Parking lots
  • Back alleys
  • Baseball field

However, even the quietest locations can have some hiccups along the way. For example, while a forest is often safe, you can have squirrels eat the product or your cartel members get lost while looking for it. Similarly, while parking lots are usually safe, the supply crates can sometimes burst open. I've yet to find a location that works every single time, so be careful and don't be afraid to wait once or twice for a better spot.

Once you complete seven supply runs with most of the product intact, you'll receive your promotion to manufacturer, which involves some interesting strategies.

Manufacturing the right products

As a manufacturer, your main goal is to create new drug recipes using various cutting agents that generate profit. The exact profit needed for a promotion varies by cartel, but you can expect it to be between $75,000 and $100,000 cumulatively.

BitLife cutting agent list
Screenshot by Destructoid

Being a manufacturer is one of the most challenging roles in the cartel, as you have to pay attention to the cutting agent, percentage, and the product's demand. While there are multiple strategies you can use for this, the main idea is creating recipes that are in high demand, have a relatively low cut percentage, and have a solid agent that won't draw too much attention to itself.

One strategy is to have a recipe with only 10-20 percent cutting agent to make the difference subtle. That way, most of your customers will be happy with the mix, even if it isn't entirely pure. Your profit margin will be greater than that of pure forms, but not nearly as obvious as higher cut percentages.

Alternatively, you can go the opposite direction and make your cutting agent 90 percent of the mix to create massive profits within a few years. I generally succeed more with this as long as the initial test subject reacts positively.

BitLife manufacturing recipe
Screenshot by Destructoid

You'll also want to sell some of the product yourself. Even if it makes a ton of money, you usually won't get a promotion until you sell a few batches on the side. As usual, the more effort you put in, the quicker you'll see positive results.

Once you reach your cartel's profit goal for your manufactured goods, you'll get promoted to lieutenant. From here, becoming Kingpin or Queenpin is fairly simple and shouldn't take much longer than a year or two.

Overthrowing the Kingpin

Now that you're a lieutenant, it's time to be nice and friendly to everyone in your cartel. You'll need to overthrow the current Kingpin, requiring you to gain the trust of every other member so you can band together and take power. Approach each cartel member and give them compliments and gifts until they have high relationship stats with you. Now, it's time for Mutiny.

BitLife Kingpin rank
Screenshot by Destructoid

Mutiny is an option in your cartel menu that, although you'll have access to it from the start, will mainly benefit you once you're a lieutenant. It's the quickest and easiest way to overthrow the current Kingpin or Queenpin with high odds of succeeding if everyone's your friend. Beware, there are severe repercussions if you fail.

Once you begin overthrowing the Kingpin, you'll see options to use the Assassin's Blade to finish the process instantly or pick a method from a drop-down menu. I had the most success by promising rewards to the other members, but most options work fine. If your plan works, they'll overthrow the Kingpin, with someone new taking on the role.

In some cases, someone else will take on the role of Kingpin, preventing you from reaching the rank yourself. If this happens, spend a couple more years in the cartel to gain seniority before befriending everyone again and attempting it a second time. Having seniority and a bit of luck will usually get you there. After your attempt succeeds, your BitLife character will take on the role of Kingpin or Queenpin in the cartel.

What do Kingpins do in BitLife?

A BitLife Kingpin oversees everything in their cartel, from recruiting new members to initiating gang wars. You'll also get a massive salary boost, usually between $10,000,000 and $40,000,000, depending on your cartel's success and infamy. If you want to work a high-risk, high-reward job, Kingpin is where it's at.

Overall, your job as a Kingpin is to expand your territory and become the most infamous group around. You'll mainly do this by starting gang wars, with successful attempts giving you cash, streets, and a few extra members if anyone survived. There's a chance your chosen person will be eliminated in the process, though, so pick someone you're not attached to or that you trust to do the job well. Starting with low-infamy cartels and working your way up is usually the safest bet, but there is some randomness that can affect the war.

A player in Dead Rails playing the Linga Guli Guli tune on the Banjo

Every single journey is more exciting when you have some music to accompany you on it. Similarly, someone playing the Banjo in Dead Rails can really lighten the mood, even in the most dire moments. However, becoming a great Banjo player isn't that easy. So, to help you master this instrument quickly and learn your very first tune, we prepared the following guide on how to play the Banjo and the Linga Guli Guli meme tune on it in Dead Rails.

How to Play Notes on the Banjo in Dead Rails

  • A player showing the correct camera position needed to play the 1st note on the Banjo in Dead Rails Roblox experience
  • A player showing the correct camera position needed to play the 2nd note on the Banjo in Dead Rails Roblox experience
  • A player showing the correct camera position needed to play the 3rd note on the Banjo in Dead Rails Roblox experience
  • A player showing the correct camera position needed to play the 4th note on the Banjo in Dead Rails Roblox experience
  • A player showing the correct camera position needed to play the 5th note on the Banjo in Dead Rails Roblox experience

In Dead Rails, you can play the Banjo by moving your camera up and down. Currently, you can play five different notes on the Banjo. Though there is one tricky part about the notes themselves, the bottom note is actually the highest one. Thus, this is how the notes are actually arranged from lowest to highest: 2, 3, 4, 5, 1.

How to Play the Linga Guli Guli Tune on the Banjo in Dead Rails

The Linga Guli Guli meme tune is simple enough for it to be the first song you will learn to play on the Banjo in Dead Rails. It goes like this: 3455555154243−−−243 (the dashes between notes signify short pauses between them). You can check out the video above for a demonstration of the tune. If you want to change up the LinGanGuli tune a tiny bit, you can play the last part like this: 253.

How to Practice the LinGanGuli Tune

The first part of the Linga Guli Guli tune in Dead Rails is easy because it is linear. Start with your camera in the middle, and then play one note while moving your camera up between them. Continue with the fifth note before going all the way down and then all the way up again, and one note below it. Lastly, continue by playing 2-4-3 two times, once when continuing the first part of the LinGanGuli tune and the second time at the end of it.

How to Get the Banjo in Dead Rails

  • Location of the General Store where one can buy a Banjo in the Dead Rails Roblox experience
  • A player finding a Banjo in the General Store in Dead Rails Roblox experience
  • A Banjo that is placed on the checkout stall of a General Store in Dead Rails Roblox experience

In Dead Rails, you can get a hold of the Banjo in multiple ways. The simplest method is to buy and equip the Musician class that always spawns with a Banjo. You can also find a Banjo in random houses that spawn on the side of the road and within burning towns. Lastly, a Banjo can spawn in the General Stores within every fort you come by. However, you will have to buy it there in exchange for $20.

That concludes our guide on how to play the Banjo and the Linga Guli Guli meme tune in Dead Rails. If you want to find out what the best weapons in DR are, check out our Dead Rails weapons tier list.

Docks in Schedule 1

Police barriers are an extreme nuisance in Schedule 1, and they can become a major hurdle if you're not careful.

Every player (myself included) has likely fallen into trouble with the cops at least once. The barriers are major obstacles when you use a car for your daily commute. This guide will provide you with all the useful tips you need to avoid police barriers in Schedule 1.

What are Police barriers in Schedule 1?

Police barriers are roadblocks placed on strategic points of the map, and the cops man them. There are two of them that appear in the existing version:

  • One on the road that lets you access the Docks.
  • One on the road that goes from the front of Taco Ticklers over the sewer canal.

Police Barrier locations in Schedule 1
Screenshot by Destructoid

The police barriers are typically in place between 12 pm and 5 am, so you don't have to worry about them during the morning.

When you get to a police barrier, you will be searched by the cops. If any banned substances are found on you, you'll go to jail. If you're traveling by car, your vehicle will be searched. This creates a massive issue when using a car to move some products around. I often face issues since my main operational base is at the Docks warehouse.

How to manage Police barriers in Schedule 1?

Road block in Schedule 1
Screenshot by Destructoid

On the bright side, if you don't carry banned substances on your person or in your car, there's no need to worry. But since we're not exactly noble citizens in this game, we have to get around this, and here's how I do it.

When using my car, I park it close to the barrier, but not so close that the police come over to search it. I then add some of the items to my hot bar and use the sidewalk, which allows you to bypass the barrier. From there, I run to the docks, store the product, and go back to the vehicle. Doing this twice is usually enough to transfer all the items in my car without getting caught.

If you get too close to the barrier, the police will approach to search you. To escape, make sure to run (you'll see "evade arrest" on screen) as the cops try to arrest you. If you manage to evade the police, you'll keep all your products.

And that's how to bypass police barriers. Yes, the answer is to use the sidewalk. It's that simple. Just don't get caught!

This is roughly 89 pulls on a limited banner, which is enough for a 5-star character or W-Engine. While the total pull count is significantly lower than that of version 1.6, it is still a decent amount.

Pull count with Interknot Membership and paid Battle Pass

The Inter-knot membership calendar from the Zenless Zone Zero 1.7 update.

Players with the Inter-Knot Membership can add 3780 Polychromes (up to 27 pulls). Purchasing the Battle Pass will give you another 780 Polychromes and 4 Encrypted Master Tapes, which is roughly 8 pulls. Since P2W players can get more Polychromes, they should be able to obtain their desired character or W-Engine.

Depending on your participation level in all the events in Zenless Zone Zero 1.7, you may be able to get all the rewards on offer. That said, the total pull count is also subject to change since it is based on the beta.

Moonlight Cookie, as she appears in Cookie Run Kingdom.

Capable of one-shotting in all stages of the game while also being a great all-rounder, it is little surprise that Moonlight Cookie is considered the best among the free Legendaries in Cookie Run Kingdom.

But to unlock her true potential, you won't need any less investment than other cookies. Here are the best toppings and beascuits for Moonlight Cookie in Cookie Run Kingdom.

Moonlight Cookie's Gacha animation in Cookie Run Kingdom.
Screenshot by Destructoid

A Magic cookie who thrives in the middle row, Moonlight Cookie is a self-sufficient pick capable of excelling in most (if not all) compositions. This is thanks to her non-elemental focus and ability to self-heal following her skill, Dream of the Night Sky, which deals massive DMG and applies both Sleep and a +25% DMG debuff. Moonlight is also immune to Sleep and, thus, to the effects of both Beckoning Dreams and Dream of Doom.

When equipped with her Crystal Jam, Moonlight Cookie's skill is replaced by Twinkling Starry Sky. This is an enhanced variant that keeps the status-effect and debuff but exchanges its self-healing and initial DMG for increased DOT effects vs Cookies. She also gets a set of new passives—the ability to heal instead of being affected by Sleep and a +30% Amplify Buff. She gets access to a unique Rally Effect as well, which boosts her team's Debuff Resistance by 7%. The value is further enhanced by 20% for seven seconds following each use of Twinkling Starry Sky (cannot stack).

Should you use her Crystal Jam?

Although you might not see any huge upsides initially, her Crystal Jam becomes a great addition at +20. This gives Moonlight Cookie a 1.7% boost in Skill DMG Bypass for each 1% CD decreased by her beascuit (up to 30%). The boosts given to both Radiant Crescent at +10 and Brilliant Starlight are also nothing to scoff at.

I only recommend equipping Moonlight Cookie's Crystal Jam in situations where you need to boost your team's overall defensive capabilities via her Rally Effect. Once it's above +10, it is certainly worth equipping.

Moonlight Cookie performs Dream of the Night Sky.

The best Toppings and Tart composition for Moonlight Cookie is a 5-piece Moonkissed Chocolate paired with a Swift Chocolate tart, which offers a great decrease in CD. If you don't have the Moonkissed variants at first, don't worry, as a regular Swift Chocolate set can work just as well if rolled right.

When looking at bonus effects, prioritize Cooldown and CRIT% to boost her Skill, DMG, and CRIT Resist to mitigate for her low HP and DEF values. If you want to further boost survivability, going for a mixed set with Hearty Hazelnut or Moonkissed Almond won't hurt, especially for the Arena.

Given her non-elemental focus and type, the best pick for Moonlight Cookie is a regular Legendary Zesty Beascuit. To maximize her DMG, focus on getting CRIT%, DMG Resist Bypass, and (of course) Cooldown as bonus stats. When using her Crystal Jam at +20, make the latter your absolute priority to get the most out of her 1.7% DMG Bypass increase per 1% CD decreased effect.

skirk in genshin impact

Skirk is an upcoming playable character in Genshin Impact and is expected to be released in version 5.7. As her potential release window gets closer, new leaks are surfacing online, sharing info on her kit—including her skills, talents, and Constellations.

This article briefly discusses all of Skirk's abilities in Genshin Impact.

Skirk kit in Genshin Impact leaked

Skirk is one of the characters in the silhouettes shown during the version 5.3 livestream. She is expected to be released in version 5.7 as a Cryo character.

According to the leaks via Kokomi (HomDGRat) and reshared by Seele, Skirk is likely to be a Sword user. This shouldn't be surprising since she is usually referred to as the "mysterious swordswoman" and Childe's master in the game. The leaker also claims that Skirk is a pure main DPS unit that scales with ATK.

Next, let's take a look at Skirk's abilities, as per the info shared by Kokomi and Seele:

Elemental Skill

Upon casting Elemental Skill, Skirk gains a special energy bar. In addition, she switches to a new combat stance, and her Normal Attacks are enhanced.

Elemental Burst

Casting Elemental Burst consumes all the special Energy and deals multiple instances of Cryo damage, similar to Keqing's burst animation. When the party members hit the enemies, they drop a "sphere" (max 3). Upon using Charged Attack, Skirk can absorb these spheres and restore the special energy.

Talents

Listed below are Skirk's potential talents in Genshin Impact:

  • When party members deal Hydro or Cryo DMG to enemies, Skirk gains a stacking effect, max 3 stacks. This effect boosts her Normal Attack and Elemental Burst DMG.
  • Each character on the team can only provide 1 stack. Furthermore, stacks from different characters are counted independently.

Considering Skirk's talent relies on Cryo and Hydro DMG, having more characters from these elements in the team will likely boost her damage.

https://twitter.com/Genshin_7/status/1720414468809920595

Constellations

Here are some of Skirk's Constellations:

  • C1: Charged Attacks that collect spheres after Elemental Burst deal additional AoE DMG.
  • C2: Increases the special energy gained from Elemental Skill. Additionally, the Normal Attack DMG bonus is increased.

Based on Skirk's leaked kit, it is safe to say that she relies on her Normal Attacks and Elemental Burst to deal DMG. Furthermore, unlike other characters in the game, her Elemental Burst depends on her special energy bar instead of the regular Elemental Energy.

This also makes sense since the new Finale of the Deep Galleries artifact set is expected to be Skirk's best-in-slot set, and the equipping unit must have 0 Elemental Energy to trigger all the bonus effects.

Since Skirk's abilities are only based on leaks, it is subject to change. You will have to wait a little longer for more in-depth info.

New Zealand  Standard PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive – NZD $949.95
PS5 Digital Edition – NZD $859.95

Additionally, the Disk Drive for the PS5 will also be getting a price change on the same date, with the prices as follows:

Region New Price
Europe €79.99
UK £69.99
Australia AUD $124.95
New Zealand  NZD $139.95

The price rises, at least in the UK, means the Switch 2 will launch as the cheapest available console on the market (£399.99) and the new price of the PS5 Digital Edition costs the same as the Switch 2 and Mario Kart World bundle, giving Nintendo a big potential advertising boost ahead of its release on June 5.

Similarly in Europe, the price of a base Switch 2 is now cheaper (469.99 Euro) over the Digital Edition of the PS5, even if the Digital Edition is slightly cheaper than getting the Switch 2 and its Mario Kart World tie-in (509.99 Euro) but still, it represents a significant steal for a console without a disk drive.

When you consider the Switch 2 also benefits from having access to the entire Switch Library, and the PS5 Digital is limited to only digital games you purchased, it could potentially make the Switch 2 a more worthwhile and attractive investment ahead of its competition, especially when the Switch 2 is going to get big titles like Borderlands 4 and more at the same time as current-gen consoles.

It's definitely some good news that Nintendo needed right now with the misinformation bubble swirling around. Now, we just need to hope that the US tariffs don't impact the price of the Switch 2 worldwide moving forward.

Dark Cacao Cookie in Cookie Run Kingdom

The Dark Cacao Cookie continues to be one of the best in Cookie Run Kingdom, and opting for the best build will only increase his potential.

This specific cookie is well-suited for all types of activities and becomes a top-tier unit in Guild Battles. While the cookie is good alone, he can be improved with the right toppings. There are a few different options to explore in this regard, so let's get to it.

Before we discuss the best toppings for the Dark Cacao Cookie, it's important to understand his abilities. They make him an ideal tank, but he can also deal a fair amount of damage.

Dark Blade Attack

  • 59.7% First Hit Damage
  • 338.3% Second Hit Damage
  • 15% reduction in target's DEF for 9 seconds
  • 10.8% reduction in target's ATK for 9 seconds
  • Reduces enemy's Critical Hits and Healing by 5% for 8 seconds (stacks 3x)
  • Deals 3% damage every second with Zap for 9 seconds and ignores opponent's HP shield.
  • Enemies drop 17% of their maximum HP for 30 seconds after being injured.

His passive ability also helps Dark Cacao to reduce any debuff applied to them.

  • Debuff Resist: +30%

Considering all the abilities, there are some useful choices to consider.

  • Searing Raspberry is perfect if you want to use him as a primary damage dealer. This topping is also great for the newly added Fire Spirit Cookie. Searing Raspberry is a great choice in general when you're looking to raise the base attack of any cookie.
  • Epic Solid Almond is an equally good choice if you're looking to raise the defensive strength of the Dark Cacao cookie. This topping raises the damage resistance and ensures that your cookie will survive longer in a battle.

Swift Chocolate is a decent alternative to both options mentioned above, but you'll need to use the full set to make the most of its cooldown reduction abilities.

It's also important to use suitable Topping Tarts with your toppings to make them even more useful. Using a matching tart will amplify the enhancements of your toppings and make them better to use.

The priority is to use any Chewy beascuits. The best option is to go for the Tainted Dark Chewy beascuit, which will buff his ATK by 30% and HP by 35%, along with buffing Dark DMG by 20%. If you can't get this beascuit, just go with any option that raises the Dark DMG.

Here are some of the areas you can keep in mind as potential buffs while selecting a beastcuit to use.

  • Attack Increase
  • Damage Resist
  • Cooldown

Ultimately, this choice will depend on the topping you opt for. If you're using the Searing Raspberry topping, you can buff your basic attack and use Dark Cacao to deal more damage. Similarly, using the Epic Solid Almond topping will buff the defense as your cookie will take less damage from attacks.
