PCGamesN Friday, April 18, 2025 2:33 PM ![]() More than a decade ago, Assassin's Creed 3 came out, serving as the follow-up to a trio of well-received games featuring fan favorite character Ezio Auditore da Firenze. Set during the American Revolution and featuring a more stoic protagonist, far removed from the previous games' roguish Ezio, AC3 garnered a reputation among many players for being a series misstep. Approached with fresh eyes and many years of hindsight, though, it's easier to see that Assassin's Creed 3 is perhaps the strongest AC to date thanks to its unique world design and strong story. Now, anyone looking for a cheaper alternative to the more recent Assassin's Creed Shadows is in luck as AC3 is currently available at a steep discount. |

PCGamesN Friday, April 18, 2025 12:00 PM ![]() We're long overdue for an overhaul of the Steam Deck game rating system. What was initially a great idea has now become somewhat controversial, and the Unsupported, Playable, Verified ratings are no longer carrying the same weight they once did. Instead, Valve needs to bring in the community to offer greater context and a more accurate depiction of how games run on the popular handheld. Many of the best Steam Deck games don't have Verified ratings, and some aren't rated at all. This is because the system that assigns games with a rating is, at best, inconsistent. A big reason why the Steam Deck still reigns as the best handheld gaming PC is its operating system and game ratings, but the former has steadily become unreliable, meaning it's time for a change. This is in reference to the "date" plans the player character makes with him as part of his in-game birthday events leading up to the big day on April 18, 2025.
The Love and Deepspace Shanghai Natural History Museum is an educational one. It looks at different types of animals while a chibi version of Sylus appears alongside and offers informative "commentary" on the creatures. Eagles, lions, duikers, and capybaras are all discussed. The video "ends" with a message from the museum about animals and conservation efforts.
Here's the "Sylus's Birthday Educational Collaboration" trailer:
As a note, there are no in-game rewards tied to this Love and Deepspace Shanghai Natural History Museum collaboration, but we did get in-game rewards as part of the Sylus birthday event. His "underlings" Luke and Kieran sent everyone 10 free pulls on the new limited gacha with a five-star Lunar Memory for the character. You can also earn an additional 10 pulls and a three-star Lunar Memory by playing his event minigames, going through its story, and decorating a cake for him. When you log in on April 18, 2025, you'll be immediately greeted by a "call" from Sylus and text message discussing your birthday date plans together.

The trailer and announcement for the 8.2 Honkai Impact 3rd update began with a peek at what's to come in the story. There'll be a major focus on both the player's Dreamseeker avatar and Helia. As a reminder, Helia is a mysterious Valkyrie who happens to be one of the main characters in Part 2 of the game. It seems like we might get some answers about her identity in Part Main Story Chapter VIII: "Till the Long Road Reaches the Sky."
We also know the Lu Sushang Battlesuit Peregrine Sword debuts in 8.2, and the Hyperion Lounge showcase and new trailer looked at her. This is an S-rank BIO type character who will deal Physical damage when she attacks with her fists, the sword hidden in her umbrella or her chicken companion. As such, she'll use fist-type weapons in the game. She also has the Law of Ascension Astral Ring Specialization. The two new fists in this update, the five-star Jadeite Sleeves and six-star Jadeite Sleeves: Windward, are made with her in mind. The Newfound Joys Stigmata set also features her. She'll also be the star of the Yunchin's Culinary Wonders event, which includes Crystals, Source Prisms, a Stuffed Tummy emblem of Sushang's chicken, and a Salted Plum outfit for the Helia Valkyrie Boltstorm Battlesuit as rewards.
Here's the trailer going over the 8.2 Honkai Impact 3rd story, Battlesuit, and events.
And here's the full 8.2 Hyperion Lounge that confirmed the release date for the next Honkai Impact 3rd update.

The Pokemon Company announced that Pokemon Center stores in Japan, as well as the Amazon storefront that does ship to the US, will begin selling a life-size Eevee plush. Details are slim about the toy so far. However, we do know that the online storefront will begin selling the new Eevee stuffed animal on April 24, 2025, followed by a wider release on April 26, 2025.
This Eevee is designed to look identical to the ones found in Pokemon games and in the anime. The pose features it lying down while looking up at their owner. We don't know how big exactly it will be yet. According to in-game data, it is about a foot tall, but since this one is laying down it should be shorter than that. We do know the price will be 3,850円 (~$27).
Here are the initial promotional photos of the Eevee stuffed animal:

There have been so many life-size Pokemon stuffed animals released prior to this Eevee plush. For example, this year started with a life-size Gardevoir doll debuting in January 2025. In honor of the year of the Snake, we also saw stuffed replicas of Ekans and Serperior. Others also included versions of Altaria, Larvesta, Lucario, Psyduck, Slowpoke, and Wailord.
As for whether or not we'll see it outside of Japan in the US Pokemon Center online store, it is possible. After all, in the past we did see ones like the life-size Mareep launch worldwide. In fact, the aforementioned Larvesta is still in stock for $399.99.

Back in October 2024, FuRyu announced Team Noir, the folks behind Monark, would be working on a new JRPG. Now a teaser trailer and website revealed it will be unveiled on April 24, 2025. It is unknown if there will be any connections to Monark.
While the new FuRyu JRPG from the Monark developers might be entirely new and starting an original IP, there are still quite a few details available based on the video and site. Tsukasa Masuko, who worked on soundtracks for old Shin Megami Tensei titles, Sword of Mana and Heroes of Mana, The Caligula Effect, and Monark, is the composer. Likewise, Monark writer Ryutaro Ito, who also worked on Shin Megami Tensei games, is back as a writer. He's joined by Gakuto Mikumo, who primarily worked on light novels like Strike the Blood.
We also know that this will involve some sort of high school setting. The initial trailer shows two people on a train. They are wearing the boy and girl versions of a high school uniform. The text on it noted the date more information will appear, and it also said, "ERROR: True self not recognized."
Here's how the initial teaser looks:
The new FuRyu JRPG from Monark developers Team Noir is in development and will be revealed on April 24, 2025.

Okayunyumu, the Hololive game about basically dating and falling in love with the Vtuber Nekomata Okayu, will appear in English. The official site for the visual novel is now open, as is the Steam product page for the PC version. It will release on August 7, 2025. The game and a demo is already available in Japan, where Switch and PS4 versions are also on sale. The official site and Steam page also confirm the game, known as Okayu Nyumu in Japan, is presented as one word for the localization.
In Okayunyumu, we meet an unusual purple cat that turns into a cat girl after being fed. The two end up living together, and the result is something of a love story. As you spend time together and make decisions, you'll learn more about the character and her past. You'll also get to interact with the mysterious Inugami Korone.
The Steam page offered some details about the English Okayunyumu release, so those who didn't follow it ahead of the launch of Okayu Nyumu in Japan can know what to expect. Only Japanese audio, which will involve voice acting from Hololive Vtubers Nekomata Okayu and Inugami Korone, will appear in the game. However, English subtitles and menus will be present. There are also two screenshots that show off the English translation.
Here are those two images:

You can also get an idea of what to expect from the opening movie from the game, which Entergram and the Hololive Vtuber shared online.
This Nekomata Okayu game isn't the only Entergram visual novel starring a Hololive Vtuber, as Minato Aqua starred in one as well. Aquarium appeared in 2023. It also appeared in English on PCs following the Japanese debut.
Okayunyumui will come to the PC via Steam in English on August 7, 2025, and the game is already available in Japan on the Switch, PS4, and PC.

Nintendo announced that, after a pause on pre-orders for the Switch 2 console, they will now start on April 24, 2025. This comes after President Donald Trump's tariffs resulted in them not happening at the start of April 2025 as planned. Nintendo also confirmed there are no plans to change the Switch 2 price, so it will cost $449.99 for the system alone and $499.99 for a bundle with it and Mario Kart World. However, it also warned about "price adjustments" based on "market conditions."
In addition to confirming the Switch 2 price will be the same as initially announced in the US, Nintendo noted the cost of two major games for it will remain the same. It still intends to charge $69.99 for Donkey Kong Bananza on July 17, 2025. This is about $10 more than standard new copies of games. Meanwhile, if someone doesn't get a Switch 2 bundle that includes Mario Kart World, that will still cost $79.99. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is $59.99, as a reminder.
The items that could be more (or less) money depending on market influences like Trump tariffs are things like Switch 2 Pro Controller, Joy-Con 2 controllers, Wheel Sets, the Switch 2 Camera, and the Dock Set. The company shared an updated price list that goes over what some of those supplemental accessories will cost in the US as of April 18, 2025.
The Nintendo Switch 2 will launch on June 5, 2025 and cost $449.99 for the standard version in the US, with the price of the bundle with Mario Kart World being $499.99.

With how many otome isekai manga and anime there are, it's a little surprising there are so few games about the topic. Transparent Games and Error 300 are attempting to assist with that with Saintess of the Golden Bow, which is fully funded on Kickstarter and still seeking support. In this case, it's inspired by Korean web novels and comics, and it really feels like it tries to follow the lead of similar stories that came before it.
Like many isekai shojo series, the Saintess of the Golden Bow otome begins with someone getting hit by a truck. Celine is a 21-year-old office woman and bit of a loner who enjoyed games, web novels, and web comics. She's crossing the street in the rain after work, thinking about the fantasy stories she loves, when we have a "truck-kun" moment. She's run over and wakes up in a forest as Celeste.
There's a bit of a twist, however. The Korean web novel Celine is reincarnated into is a boy's love one. The character she is now, Celeste, was supposed to die in these opening moments to set up the tragic backstory for her knight Levi, who would become the Saint of the Golden Bow. However, Celine has some archery skills and so does Celeste. She uses that to kill the demon that would have killed her. This means when the trial comes to find the person picked by the gods to wield the bow and face the Demon Queen, Celeste/Celine is actually picked.
It makes for some interesting moments and takes on the genre. While Celine is familiar with Celeste's fate and the course of the story from the one she read in her world, things aren't going to go like that in this Saintess of the Golden Bow isekai. The one she read with as boys love story. Levi was initially madly in love with Celeste, but is bisexual and had potential love interests in Prince Noah and Elijah the priest after she died. Since Celeste didn't die, Levi is still as infatuated with her as ever. It also means that as the saintess now, Noah and Elijah are having the interactions they initially had with Levi with her.
While it's a bit awkward, since the setup suggests that Levi and Noah were supposed to end up together, I did appreciate some ways in which this is approached early on. Since Celine also inherited Celeste's emotions and memories, it means she's aware of how she felt about Levi. The original Celeste was overwhelmed and uncomfortable since he was of a lower station and her knight, and she actually tried to fix him up with other men and women. There's also the notion that Celine/Celeste isn't really sure what pairings might happen, even as she starts to fall for and experience some romantic moments with Levi, Noah, and Elijah.

One thing I didn't expect, both from this build and the game, is the level of voice acting. In some scenes, there is voice acting for the leads. The casting seems really well done for an indie otome like this! The art direction is rather good too, though I will say that in the case of some of the CGs I've seen, it seems like there's a big difference between the portraits you see during conversations and those scenes, and it's a little awkward sometimes. The quality on the portraits and CGs are all good! Just sometimes not as similar as I'd expect.
Saintess of the Golden Bow seems like it could be interesting, and the otome game is definitely following the same sort of narrative path as the Korean web comic and novel isekai stories that inspired it. The voice acting is solid. There are occasionally insightful elements to the script. I do wish the character portraits looked a little more like the CG designs, but the quality is generally good! It looks like a promising dating sim.
Saintess of the Golden Bow is in development for PCs, a demo is available on Steam, and the Kickstarter ends on April 20, 2025.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds features a variety of textiles, starting with Coarse fabric and Wool. As you advance deeper into the game, you'll eventually unlock Swamp Thread, a rare material for advanced crafting. This guide will walk you through how to locate it and utilize it effectively.
Table of contents
How to get Swamp Thread in RS: Dragonwilds
You can make Swamp Thread by using Swamp Weed at the Spinning Wheel. Swamp Weed can be found in the Bloodblight Swamp, where it's essential to keep an Anti-Poison Potion active at all times. Unfortunately, the Whispering Swamp doesn't contain this resource, which means you won't be able to collect Swamp Weed early in your RuneScape: Dragonwilds playthrough.
Like the Adhesive's Swamp Tar, this weed can be hard to miss, as it is relatively small and hidden amongst the terrain's glow. I've searched all around the area and discovered that the Swamp Weed spawns on the shores of the Bloodblight Swamp, within these red circles:
![]()
Just stick near the large bodies of water to search for Swamp Weed. These green, seaweed-like plants blend almost perfectly with the swamp's murky waters; some are partially hidden beneath the surface, so keep your eyes sharp for anything subtly rising from the water. Additionally, if you need to go into the poisonous water, you won't take any damage, considering that the Anti-Poison Potion should protect you from it.
![]()
Although the fortress inside the Bloodblight shows a body of water on the map, you won't find that many weeds there. They primarily spawn near the entrance of the swamp, the same area where you can obtain Blightwood. The only problem is the fact that Abyssal Demons tend to roam around here, making it all the more difficult to navigate through the Bloodblight Swamp. If you see one, you should try to build a Lodestone, just in case it ends up killing you.
Besides the bodies of water, you may be able to find Swamp Weeds in caves at the Bloodblight. However, I've scoured this entire region and haven't seen any caves with this specific material. You might still want to test your luck and see if you can uncover one of these elusive spots for yourself.
How to use Swamp Thread in RS: Dragonwilds
Use Swamp Thread to craft high-level weaponry, such as the Blightwood Longbow and Shortbow. To put the power of these bows into perspective, the Blightwood Bow delivers 41 damage compared to the standard Oak Bow's 28. That's a solid upgrade, especially when dealing with distant targets. On the other hand, crafting gear like this requires rarer materials, including Jade and Vault Shards.
![]()
I explored other potential uses for Swamp Thread in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, but aside from bows, there doesn't seem to be much else. Even with an upgraded loom, no additional gear recipes appeared. Swamp Thread may be tied to a later phase of the game or reserved for endgame crafting. Whatever the case may be, I recommend storing it in your inventory, as you never know what future recipes might require it.

Marvel Rivals players are up in arms about the deployment of the game's new color customization option, which has dominated online chatter over the past few days, and I honestly think it's a good thing.
When one of the larger controversies four months into a live service game's lifespan is a lack of color customization options or an issue with managing expectations, the title is doing quite alright in the grand scheme of things.
![]()
When NetEase Games announced a costume recolor option coming to the game in season three, players' minds went into overdrive. While I do think that adding another currency to the game in Unstable Molecules is a misstep, I also think that players need to remember that a free-to-play title is indeed designed to make as much money as possible.
NetEase did such a great job of creating goodwill in its player base early on with features like battle passes that don't expire, earnable premium currency, and fairly priced skins, that the costume customization feature not being what some were hoping for feels like a bigger deal than it is.
This issue proves that no game, developer, or publisher is perfect. Marvel Rivals isn't, and never was going to be, either. But it entered the market with only direct-purchase cosmetic microtransactions, and that's already a good start for most F2P titles in 2025, so anything that wasn't as positive or popular a decision was bound to make waves at some point.
The new costume recolors are only available on four skins right now (Luna Snow's Mirae 2099, Magik's Punkchild, Psylocke's Vengeance, and Winter Soldier's Revolution), and more will be added over time. But the need to convert yet another currency from real-world currency to purchase these recolors is pretty annoying. That's it. That's all there is when it comes to actual, genuine problems with the new feature for now. Could it get worse from here? Absolutely, but let's wait and see on that front.
I think that players expecting a fully customizable skin palette for heroes or for the recolors to be free were caught up in the vibes and had no reason to think this way. It wouldn't make sense from a business standpoint, at all, to be that generous. But again, maybe that's on NetEase for trying to garner such positive favor in its players early on that its community expects everything to be amazing all the time.
Not every decision NetEase makes about Marvel Rivals will feel like an evolution in F2P fairness. If it bugs you, then let the devs know or move on to another title. However, with the game as popular as it is, the future will likely feature more downs than ups as further features and additions to monetization are rolled out over time to keep profits on the rise. Gamers should prepare for that, and prepare for the worst.
In the end, we're all on Marvel Rivals to enjoy the gameplay, buy some scantily clad costumes, and live out our superhero dreams. Just don't expect it all to be as smooth as the launch period has been.

The Spiral Abyss in Genshin Impact 5.5 recently got reset, and it now features a new lineup of opponents. These include several hard-hitting elite enemies and world bosses.
This guide will list some of the best teams and strategies that you can use to clear Floor 12 of the latest Spiral Abyss reset in version 5.5.
Best teams to use in Genshin Impact 5.5 Spiral Abyss
Listed below are some of the best teams you can use to complete the Spiral Abyss Floor 12 in Genshin Impact 5.5:
Excluding the Hydro damage dealers, you can bring any strong teams in the first half of Floor 12. Make sure to include Xilonen, Mavuika, Kachina, or any other unit that can help you climb the Phlogiston pillars in the second chamber.
As for the second half, bringing Cryo or Pyro characters will help in breaking the Electro shields of the mobs in the first chamber.
Tips to clear Spiral Abyss Floor 12
First chamber
![]()
The first half of the first chamber has only one enemy, Hydro Tulpa. It is a pretty easy boss to beat as long as you don't get hit by one of his attacks. Since it is a Hydro Elemental being, using Pyro damage dealers is best. You also get a Geo Elemental Skill DMG bonus, so you can also use characters like Navia. During the battle, Hydro Tulpa will also spawn Half-Tulpa. While you can ignore it and use brute force to beat the boss, defeating the Half-Tulpa will help you avoid the boss entering the enhanced state.
In the second half, you will face two Electro enemies with a shield. You can use Cryo characters like Ayaka and Wriothesley to break their shields.
Second chamber
![]()
You will only face the Secret Source Automaton: Configuration Device in the first half of the second chamber in Genshin Impact 5.5's Spiral Abyss. It is an easy boss with predictable movements. Try to keep attacking him while moving around so you can avoid any incoming attack.
Once the boss summons two Phlogiston pillars, do not waste time and use Mavuika, Xilonen, or any other character that can help you climb them to destroy the mechanisms. This will paralyze the Secret Source Automaton: Configuration Device for a brief period, and you can use this chance to unleash your strongest attacks without worry.
The enemies in the second half are easy, so just brute force them.
Third chamber
![]()
The third chamber features multiple strong enemies that can potentially one-shot your characters. For the first half, it is best to use Pyro characters since all the enemies are Hydro Elemental beings. Additionally, having a strong healer or a shielder like Citlali or Zhongli would be ideal because you don't want to get hit by the Veteran Tainted Water Phantasms.
In the second half, Xuanwen Beast and Primordial Bathysmal Vishap are fairly easy to beat, so you don't have to worry about them. However, you need to worry about the Consecrated Horned Crocodile. It is one of the most annoying enemies in the game and moves around a lot. Freeze is one of the best reactions to keep the Consecrated Beast under control, and you can use your strongest attacks while it is frozen to beat it. If you're not using a freeze team, then you should bring a shielder or a strong healer.
This concludes our Genshin Impact 5.5 Spiral Abyss Floor 12 guide. You will get Primogem rewards for completing the challenge within the time limit.

Point Hope is one of the toughest maps to traverse in Phasmophobia because it has many circular and small floors. Finding all of the Forest Minions for the Cursed Hollow event is pretty daunting at this location.
There aren't as many nests to find at this location as there are around most other maps, so it's a fairly easy one to navigate once you know where to look. Here are all the Forest Minion locations around Point Hope in Phasmophobia.
All Point Hope Forest Minion Totem nest locations
Point Hope has 13 Forest Minion nests you can find across all 10 floors of this lighthouse map for the Cursed Hollow event. There's only one on every single floor except for the first and 10th floors, which have some extra ones for you to find.
The first nest is sitting in the entryway on the first floor underneath a window. It's right in front of you in the small nook between the bathroom and living room doors as soon as you open the front door at Point Hope.
![]()
Head into the bathroom on the first floor to find the next nest. From the entryway, turn left and open the door to access this area. Look down at the ground right outside the shower.
![]()
Venture into the living room on the first floor to find another nest. Turn right in the entryway, then walk over to the deep emerald green couches to spot the nest sitting in between them.
![]()
Head up the stairs in the living room to access the kitchen on the second floor for the next nest. This one is sitting on the ground by the overturned stool and the circular counter area in the middle of the room.
![]()
Walk up the stairs in the kitchen to reach the third floor, which is the dining room. Turn right once you're at the top of the stairs and look down under the window to find this nest.
![]()
Go up to the next level to find another nest on the fourth floor in the game room. You can find it sitting by the back end of the pool table that has several rabbits playing on it.
![]()
Make your way up to the fifth floor to find a nest in the bathroom. This one is sitting on the square rug right in front of the bathtub near the back of the room.
![]()
Go up another level to enter the master bedroom on the sixth floor. Look to your right to spot the vanity cluttered with lots of makeup, then look down by the red stool in front of it to find the nest.
![]()
Walk upstairs to reach the seventh level and access the children's bedroom. Head over to the bookshelf near the right corner of the room and look down by it to check the nest for a Forest Minion.
![]()
Go up the stairs outside of the children's bedroom to reach the workshop area on the eighth level. Locate the wooden table with a rocking horse sitting on top of it. This nest is tucked under it, surrounded by lots of twigs, so it's decently easy to miss.
![]()
Head up to the ninth floor to find the next nest in the storage room. You can find this one behind the wooden crate underneath the staircase that leads up to the last level.
![]()
Go up one last set of stairs to reach the 10th floor, which is the lighthouse lantern room. Walk over to the corner of the room to spot the nest in front of a box and some other supplies.
![]()
The final nest at Point Hope is sitting outside on the balcony on the 10th level. Exit the room through either of the doors leading out to the balcony and walk around in a circle until you spot a stack of twigs with the nest sitting on top.
![]()
If you're hoping to contribute more event points, consider hunting for Forest Minions around 6 Tanglewood Drive, Camp Woodwind, Bleasdale Farmhouse, and 13 Willow Street next. Be sure to watch out for the vengeful Forest Spirit ghost while you investigate.

Marvel Rivals will soon be invaded by swimsuit-wearing superheroes as part of a special collaboration, and that's great, because hy should Jeff the Landshark have all the fun when it comes to going for a leisurely swim?
Namor the Submariner loves himself some bodies of water, too, but these costumes coming to Marvel Rivals are expected to be more centered on the bodies in the water, if you catch my drift. Oh yeah, NetEase Games knows exactly what gamers like and it's about to deliver on all levels when it comes to expressing yourself via in-game cosmetics in the hero shooter.
Marvel Rivals swimsuit skins are actually happening for real, and we've got all the info on what to expect from them when they release later this year.
All swimsuit skins in Marvel Rivals
![]()
So far, the only confirmed swimsuit skins in Marvel Rivals are part of the Krakoa Resort series, and they have been teased within the Marvel Rivals Infinity comic book series. These resort-themed skins should be coming to the in-game store in Marvel Rivals during season two. The skins shown so far are for:
Jeff looks cute in his tropical shirt and lei, while Rocket and Squirrel Girl sport their most fun-loving beach attire. And then The Thing...well...let's just say he might earn some new nicknames with this skin. We're thinking The Thong, or The G-String.
Additionally, Marvel has confirmed that costumes inspired by designs in the special MARVEL SWIMSUIT SPECIAL: FRIENDS, FOES & RIVALS #1 comic book coming out on July 9 will be added to the game. This is where things will get really interesting and quite sultry.
"Primarily an artist showcase, Marvel Swimsuit Special presented pinups from the industry's top talents in a magazine-style format, complete with tongue-in-cheek articles and descriptions," Marvel said of the swimsuit revival. "Each year, a light-hearted plot brought the heroes to a different setting, from the jungles of the Savage Land to the shores of Monster Island."
![]()
This will be the first Swimsuit Special comic book by Marvel in 30 years, with the last one launching way back in 1995. Artwork and custom comic cover variants tease swimsuits for characters such as:
According to writer and reporter Miller Ross, the Krakoa Resort skins are "more resort wear" themed and tied to season two, which will end on July 11 when season three begins. Not-so-coincidentally, the first MARVEL SWIMSUIT SPECIAL issue will be launching on July 9, so it's safe to expect the new swimsuit skins to arrive in season three as part of the battle pass or as store items.
One thing is for sure: these skins are going to sell quite well, so don't be surprised if your entire lobby starts looking like a pool party later this summer.
This article will be updated with more information whenever it becomes available.

The Challenge Horn is an essential item for clearing endgame content in RuneScape Dragonwilds, and crafting it requires using different resources.
The Challenge Horn is similar to the Ram Horn, but building it is far more difficult. This guide will provide all the essential details related to its production, including all the required workstations and items. This is a must-use item required to complete the game by challenging General Velgar.
How to craft the Challenge Horn in RuneScape Dragonwilds
The first step is to obtain the recipe for the item, which can be done in the Fractured Plains region. You'll meet Cathan near the gates of the main boss fight. You can find the recipe near the bridge, which will help you build the item.
To craft the Challenge Horn, you'll need three different items.
Let's now take a look at how to get all three items.
![]()
![]()
![]()
You'll need the Iron Pickaxe and the Iron Logging Axe to get the resources mentioned above. These are advanced versions of the basic tools that are much more effective. You should already have both items in your inventory if you're doing it right. If you don't have them already, make sure to build them using the required resources.
How to use the Challenge Horn in RuneScape Dragonwilds
Once you have all three items in the correct quantities, open your Smithing Anvil to produce the horn. This horn will allow you to challenge the boss as often as you want. You'll need to produce the Challenge Horn only once, but it can be used indefinitely (in case you fail to defeat Velgar at the first attempt).

Obtaining the Challenge Horn is, well, a real challenge—no pun intended. You'll have to battle through Ashenfall's most dangerous zones to gather three rare materials. The hardest is the Bloodwood Sap, hidden in the region's most brutal area. Here's how to find it in RuneScape: Dragonwilds.
Where to find Bloodwood Sap in RS: Dragonwilds
The Bloodwood Sap can be found in the castle of Bloodblight Swamp, located east of the starter Bramblemead Valley. There are two major threats you'll need to deal with in this area: the group of high-level enemies stationed around the fortress and the poisonous air that slowly drains your health. My RuneScape: Dragonwilds character is still carrying the scars from the ordeal, and that's not surprising, considering I died five times just trying to reach the Bloodwood Sap.
![]()
Before heading out, you must bring an Iron Logging Axe and several Anti-Poison Potions. The Iron Logging Axe allows you to hit the Bloodwood Sap off the large tree at the castle. However, you'll need to harvest a hefty amount of iron ore from the Stormtouched Highlands, a perilous destination where deadly lightning strikes appear frequently. The Anti-Poison Potion will, fortunately, be relatively more straightforward to craft, as most ingredients derive from the Whispering Swamp. If you need more help with the poisonous air, check out our guide on how to survive the Bloodblight Swamp.
You should also take your best weapons with you, whether they're iron or bronze-based. A bow is a solid choice for this journey, especially with a few enemies lurking just out of reach. Beyond weapons, I highly recommend bringing Lodestone ingredients. Setting up a fast travel point would've saved me hours of unnecessary trekking, so you can avoid the same mistake. While you can place the Lodestone in various spots, setting it near the Bloodblight Swamp castle offers the fastest access to key locations.
With all this gear, it's time to take the leap and head to the fortress. Consume the Anti-Poison Potion just before you enter the swamp, and you'll have 300 seconds until the poison starts kicking in. Keep an eye on the potion's buff; it'll sometimes deplete when you least expect it. When you reach the castle, it's crucial to eliminate all enemies inside. Given that the Bloodwood Sap is right at the center of this area, foes will most likely notice you, even if you try to use stealth.
![]()
The strategy that worked best for me was circling the castle before sprinting across the main bridge. Each time I crossed, the enemies tended to retreat to their original positions, creating the perfect opportunity to strike with their backs turned. If you can, try to separate them and take them down one at a time, as facing the entire group together can be seriously overwhelming.
With everyone out of the way, you can finally head to the tree and use your Iron Logging Axe to acquire the sap.
![]()
You only need one Bloodwood Sap for the Challenge Horn recipe. Nevertheless, you still need to get the Dragon Tooth and Bronze Bars to complete it. Once you do, you can set a course for the ultimate battle against General Velgar, diving further into the RuneScape: Dragonwilds' Primary Quest.

Version 2.3 of Wuthering Waves is going to be a major update because it coincides with the game's first anniversary. This update will introduce new playable characters and release new events for the anniversary, giving away tons of free rewards.
Luckily, Wuwa 2.3 will go live soon, and you can find its release date info in this article.
Wuwa 2.3 release date and countdown
The second phase banners of version 2.2 will end on April 28 at 9:59 (server time). Based on the previous maintenance schedule, Wuthering Waves 2.3 will be released on April 28 at 10pm CT. Before the new version goes live, there will be a short maintenance that will last roughly 7 hours. During this time, the servers will be down, and you won't be able to log into the game, so it will be best to consume your Waveplates and complete any unfinished objectives beforehand.
The exact timings will differ for everyone, so here is a list of Wuwa 2.3 release dates and timings in other time zones:
In addition, here's a countdown that shows the time left until Wuthering Waves 2.3 releases worldwide:
Once Wuwa 2.3 is released, check your in-game mailbox to collect 600 Astrites as compensation from the developers. While not much, it will still let you do 3 pulls on any character or weapon banner.
Since version 2.3 will also be the anniversary update, Kuro Games has also prepared a special event featuring Dango Wuwa characters. More details about the events and other anniversary rewards will be revealed during the version 2.3 livestream on April 19.
Wuwa 2.3 characters
![]()
Listed below are all the new characters in version 2.3, as confirmed by the official drip marketing:
Zani was introduced even before Rinascita was released in Wuwa. She played a major role in Rinascita's main quest and the Exploration Quest in Vault Underground, so most players would already know her. Zani will finally debut in version 2.3 as a playable character. Kuro Games has also revealed that Zani is a Spectro unit and uses Gauntlets as weapons during combat. Zani is expected to be on the first phase banner since she was drip-marketed before Ciaccona.
Speaking of Ciaccona, she is the other 5-star character who will debut in version 2.3. She is an Aero unit that uses Pistols and will likely be in the second half.

The second phase of the Wuthering Waves 2.2 update features Shorekeeper's first rerun banner and her signature weapon. After pulling her, you also have the option of pulling another copy or going for the signature, Stellar Symphony.
S1 Shorekeeper and Stellar Symphony are solid options, but due to limited resources, getting both is difficult. This guide will compare the buffs and bonuses you get from them and help you decide whether you should pull for Shorekeeper's S1 or her signature weapon.
Shorekeeper S1 vs. signature weapon in WuWa 2.2
Shorekeeper S1
![]()
Here are all the abilities gained after unlocking Shorekeeper's S1 in Wuthering Waves:
Shorekeeper's first Sequence Node gives her a significant boost in ability. Unlocking S1 increases the duration of the field created by her Resonance Liberation.
Additionally, it increases the range of the healing and buffs of Shorekeeper's ultimate by a massive amount. For reference, the buffs gained from Shorekeeper's Resonance Liberation are Crit Rate and Crit DMG bonuses, depending on whether it's Inner Stellarealm or Outer Stellarealm. Therefore, the active unit will get a significant Crit stat boost inside the field.
Lastly, casting Intro Skill won't end the field duration anymore, so you can keep the field active at all times, which is powerful.
Signature weapon - Stellar Symphony
![]()
Here are the stats and effects of Shorekeeper's signature weapon, Stellar Symphony, at level 90 rank 1:
Shorekeeper requires a lot of Energy Regen, so the ER second stat is a blessing. Additionally, the weapon's passive increases the wielder's HP, restores some Concerto Energy, and increases the party member's ATK. This not only helps Shorekeeper provide more healing but also buffs the team.
Shorekeeper S1 or signature weapon - What should you pull?
The answer to whether you should go for Shorekeeper's S1 or the weapon will depend on a few factors.
If you already have Variation, especially at a higher Syntonization Rank, going for Shorekeeper's first Sequence would be a much better option. If you don't have Variation, though, you can go for the signature weapon, since Shorekeeper requires a lot of Energy Regen, and maintaining high ER can be difficult without an ER weapon.
You should also take into account that you are always guaranteed to get the signature weapon from the weapon banner. Meanwhile, you may require an extra 160 pulls to get Shorekeeper's S1, which is far more costly. Thus, your choice will also depend on your ability to obtain the necessary Astrites, Forging Tides, and Radiant Tides.
Since you are planning on building Shorekeeper, check out her best build guide.

Most maps only have around 10 Forest Minion nests for you to check in Phasmophobia's Cursed Hollow event. Some locations, like 6 Tanglewood Drive, have a whole lot more, which means it can be tricky to find and check all of them.
Finding Forest Minions is essential for claiming event points, so you need to know all of the places you can search for them. Here are all the Forest Minion locations around 6 Tanglewood Drive in Phasmophobia.
Table of contents
All 6 Tanglewood Drive Forest Minion Totem nest locations
There are 21 Forest Minion nests throughout 6 Tanglewood Drive in the Cursed Hollow event. It's a fairly small map, but it has more nests than most of the other ones featured in the event, including those that are larger.
Main floor
The first nest is sitting on the bathtub in the main bathroom. Enter through the front door, turn left to enter the small hallway, and go through the first door on your left. Look in the bathtub to spot this nest.
![]()
Another nest is sitting in the small hallway near the front door. Exit the bathroom and look down the hall to find the nest in a corner surrounded by some rabbit statues.
![]()
A nest is on the changing table inside the nursery. Head through the door on your left at the end of the hallway where you found the last nest. Walk straight to the back of the room and look under the window to find the nest on the table.
![]()
The next nest is in the small nook right outside the master bedroom. Enter the house through the front door, walk straight down the hallway, and make a sharp left just before you reach the living room. Look down to locate this nest.
![]()
Venture into the master bedroom to find the next possible Forest Minion spawn location. You can access this room through the door right by the last nest. This one can be found sitting in the middle of the bed.
![]()
Between the two doors in the master bedroom is another nest. It's on the ground near the end of the bed by the doors that lead into the master bathroom and closet.
![]()
Head through the door on the left in the master bedroom to access the master bathroom. Look down in the center of the room to find the nest sitting on a pile of twigs.
![]()
Return to the master bedroom, then go through the door on the right to access the small closet. In the back corner of this room, you'll find a nest sitting by some shoes and cardboard boxes.
![]()
The next nest is in the hallway by the living room. Head out of the master bedroom and walk straight towards the kitchen to find it. This nest is sitting on the ground in a small tent made out of sticks.
![]()
Go into the living room next. Walk around the couch near the last nest you found and look down by the television and under the window to find a nest surrounded by four rabbits.
![]()
Another nest is in the living room, hidden in a corner by the couch. Turn around from where you found the last nest and walk around the coffee table. Look down in the corner behind it to find it.
![]()
The next nest is in the dining room. Head down the hallway behind the couch in the living room and make a sharp left to find the nest sitting on a bright blue ottoman up against the wall by the dining room table.
![]()
There's another nest near the back door in the dining room. From where you found the last one, turn around to face the dining room table. Walk around the table and look down by the glass door to check the nest.
![]()
Head into the kitchen to locate another nest. The kitchen is attached to the dining room, so turn around and walk straight back into the kitchen. Look in the corner beneath the sink to find it.
![]()
Venture into the laundry room for the next nest. The door to this room is behind the couch in the living room, so exit the kitchen and make a left to enter. Look down after you open the door to find it.
![]()
Continue through the laundry room to enter the garage by opening the other door. Once you're inside, look left to find a nest on the ground in the corner sitting on a pile of twigs.
![]()
Proceed further into the garage and approach the massive door on the left side of the car. This one is right in front of a firefly jar by some shelves in the corner.
![]()
Go around the car to the other side of the garage for the next one. You can find the nest on a pile of twigs between three walls of logs surrounding it.
![]()
Basement
For the next few nests, you need to venture into the basement. Exit the garage, proceed through the laundry room, and go straight across the hall to find another door. Head through it and go down the stairs to find the next nest in the corner on your left.
![]()
Turn right in the basement and walk past the shelves to find another nest. This one is sitting between two shelves under a small tent made out of twigs with firefly jars behind it.
![]()
The final nest is between two other shelves down in the basement. It's by a massive pile of twigs with two firefly jars right by it to make spotting it from afar fairly easy.
![]()
There's still plenty more to get done in the Cursed Hollow event, so next, you might consider learning how to contribute event points, all Forest Minion effects, and how to find the Forest Spirit ghost.

There are several different pieces of rock and ore you can mine in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. One of the tougher veins to find is Granite, which requires you to venture into a dangerous region and bring the right pickaxe with you.
To see where to find and mine Granite in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, check out the guide below.
Table of contents
Granite Deposit location in RuneScape: Dragonwilds
![]()
Unlike the various ores you can mine on the island of Ashenfall, Granite Deposits look more like stone boulders than large veins with smaller pieces of rock that you can collect. Granite Deposits are slightly darker than the stone boulders, but the two rocks look fairly similar. This can often lead to you mistaking stone for Granite, especially if you're not in the right region on the map.
Granite Deposits are most commonly located all across the Stormtouched Highlands. This region is located on the northwest side of the map, beyond the Whispering Swamp and west of the Fractured Plains.
It's a power level three area with strong Garou enemies that have several different weapon types, all of which are lethal. The Stormtouched Highlands also has a higher dragon spawn, and lightning often strikes the ground in random places, which will damage you if you're caught in the crossfire.
In Stormtouched Highlands, you mainly want to look for Granite Deposits at the base of large mountains and cliffs. Along the rock formations, you'll often find one or two Granite Deposits sitting next to each other, along with Iron Ore. As we said before, though, Granite often looks like stone, so make sure the HUD says "Granite Deposit" before you start mining it.
![]()
Speaking of which, Granite Deposits need to be mined with a Bronze Pickaxe or better. You won't be able to use your Stone or Bone Pickaxe to mine any Granite. You can learn how to find Bronze and make a Bronze Pickaxe in our previous guide, but the short version is you need Copper and Tin Ore along with a Furnace. Copper and Tin Ore are primarily located in the Fractured Plains region.
You can also find a small number of Granite Deposits in Fractured Plains, but you're better off sticking to the Stormtouched Highlands for all your needs.
How to farm Granite in RuneScape: Dragonwilds
Now that you know the general area you want to look for Granite Deposits, how about a way to farm it? While no farming method is going to be too reliable since the spawn rate for resources in RuneScape: Dragonwilds is fairly slow, there is one solid farming method for Granite.
To take advantage of the method, you're going to want to bring materials for a Lodestone so you can easily fast travel back and forth between the farming location and your base. Next, bring your Bronze Pickaxe and plenty of inventory space.
![]()
With these items, head to the Vault located in the northwestern part of the Stormtouched Highlands. Inside the Vault, there are several easy-to-reach Granite Deposits you can quickly mine without alerting any Vault enemies. Once you've mined all the Granite available, use the Lodestone, fast travel to your base, and wait a few in-game days for the Granite to spawn again. Rinse and repeat as many times as possible until you have all the Granite you need.
And that's how to find Granite and farm it in RuneScape: Dragonwilds.

Summer 2025 is sure to be a hot one. And I'm not just talking about global warming or rising temperatures.
For the first time in 30 years, Marvel Comics yesterday announced the return of its Swimsuit Special comic, and within the news, also revealed that popular hero shooter game Marvel Rivals will be getting special swimsuit costumes to celebrate the issue's launch this July.
![]()
Along with an overarching story centered around "Earth's mightiest fashion designer, Janet Van Dyne, aka the Wasp," Marvel confirmed that "the issue will also include designs for new costumes coming soon to Marvel Rivals, the mega popular multiplayer video game from Marvel Games and NetEase Games."
And so, if you haven't bought stock in Marvel Rivals' popularity yet, just wait until heroes like Spider-Man, Black Widow, Emma Frost, Iron Man, Squirrel Girl, and others are parading around their battlefield in scantily-clad outfits made for diving into cold waters when the heat rises.
"Primarily an artist showcase, Marvel Swimsuit Special presented pinups from the industry's top talents in a magazine-style format, complete with tongue-in-cheek articles and descriptions," Marvel said in the announcement. "Each year, a light-hearted plot brought the heroes to a different setting, from the jungles of the Savage Land to the shores of Monster Island."
The potential for some outrageous, salacious outfits is high. Marvel already boasts some sexy character costumes, most notably the viral Emma Frost and her muscular thighs, or Namor's MCU skin, which does not leave much to the imagination. There are several costumes that show lots of superhero skin already, but this comic collab could really blow the doors off.
Marvel Swimsuit Special: Friends, Foes & Rivals #1 will launch July 9, and will likely coincide with the start of Marvel Rivals' season three, which is set to begin two days later on July 11.

The Restless Ghosts side quest is a fun activity in RuneScape Dragonwilds, and it involves chasing spirits all over Ashenfall.
The quest takes a fair bit of time to complete, as you'll have to get access to different locations. There are four spirits to find, and they only appear at night. You'll have to lay them down to rest and find the Ghostspeak Amulet. This guide will elaborate on all the steps and help you complete the quest easily.
Table of contents
How to find the Ghostspeak Amulet in RuneScape Dragonwilds
Finding the amulet is the first task to complete, and it can be done at Bramblemead Valley. I have updated the location on the map below, and you'll have to look out for a well. This well is located at the start of the Bramblemead Valley location, where you'll find a series of dilapidated buildings.
Go to the well and interact with it to find the amulet. Once done, the next step is to find the spirits at four different locations.
![]()
Warren location
The first spirit is located in the Bramblemead Valley and close to the well. Go southwest from the well, and you'll come to the location marked as "1" in the screenshot above. If it's post-sunset, you'll find the spirit between the ruins. He will provide you with the information required to find the other spirits.
Lazina location
Lazina is probably the earliest spirit you meet, as its location is revealed in the starter quests. It can be found near the Windmill, where you meet Vannaka for the first time. Head to the broken-down house near the Windmill and you'll find Lazina over there.
Finn location
Before finding Finn, you must unlock Windstep Runic Ability and Chop Thorny Vine skills. The first is unlocked when your Runecraft skill level reaches level 8, while the latter becomes available at Woodcutting skill level 20.
To reach the location marked as "3" on the screenshot, go southeast from where the Wise Old Man is located. You'll find an opening in one of the cliffs (very easy to miss). First, use Windstep to double jump and reach the opening. Cut through the vines blocking your path, go inside, and you'll find Finn.
Spirit location
The fourth one is in the Whispering Swamps, and you'll have to wait a bit to access the location. Take the northeast route by the Goblin castle, or take the long road that goes all the way to the north (marked on the screenshot).
It's better to be careful with this region as it's dark, and you'll find a lot of goblin along the path. Ensure you fill up your inventory correctly and take on one enemy at a time. It's easy to spot Kay at the location marked as "4" on the map.
How to lay the spirits to rest?
Once you have heard the backstories of every spirit, go to the Church. There's a cemetery located behind it. Find the Remembrance Shrine and remember all four spirits to complete the quest. You'll get Tomes as a reward, which is useful for leveling up different skills. Just ensure you have enough space in your inventory to get the tomes (it's apparently a bug for some players), but it didn't happen for me.

The starting phase in RuneScape Dragonwilds can be a grueling test, and it gets even more confusing if you haven't played any RuneScape titles (or something similar) in the past.
Jagex's latest release is similar to how typical RuneScape titles work but with some twist. While some concepts are basic, others are far more complex. This beginner guide will help you get started on your adventure and accelerate your in-game progression.
Don't skip the tutorial
When you create a new character, you'll have the option to skip the tutorial quest. I strongly advise against it, even if you're a fan of older RuneScape titles. The tutorial is fairly simple: it introduces you to a few characters who teach you the concepts. Some of these concepts can be learned independently, but things like Runes are easier to craft if you complete the tutorial. The tutorial also helps you to follow a structured pattern when it comes to the objectives.
Focus on the main questline
![]()
There are side quests available in RuneScape Dragonwilds, but your priority should be the main quest. It involves getting instructions from the Wise Old Man, located in Bramblemead Valley. The main quest allows you to power up systematically. The quest will also provide all the information required to take your power level up and eventually take on General Velgar. Completing the side quests will help you get additional rewards, but the main quest is much more important (for your progression).
All activities are essential
![]()
There are different skills to unlock in the game. Some of the skills will eventually become your favorite (for example, I love to chop down trees much more than I love to mine), but you need to do as many activities as possible. Some skills will level up quicker purely because you'll have to do them more often, but it's also vital that you perform as many activities as possible. Every skill has new rewards up to level 49 (and they go up to level 99), so leveling them up is very important.
Defend yourself
![]()
Even if your attack power matches the enemy's, you should attack carefully. Blocking an attack is good, but dodges are better. However, dodges consume stamina, while there's no such problem with a Block. In a nutshell, don't go all-in with your attacks. Watch your enemies, understand their attack patterns, and chain the combos to do maximum damage.
Repairs are valuable
In the cycle of crafting new items, it's easy to forget how the crafting table can also be used to repair your existing tools and weapons. Repairs are essential since your equipment will break down after using it. Imagine your Stone Club breaking right when you're facing a War Band. Always repair your tools and keep them handy.
Pick up everything
![]()
Resources can be found all over Ashenfall; some just require you to pick them up. While picking up everything is repetitive, don't ignore any item you can find. Any item you collect is used in some recipe. Some of them are used to cook foods and beverages. Some are used to craft tools and weapons. Crafting materials can also be collected from exploring different areas of the map.
If you ignore certain items, they could end up backfiring big time when you need them to complete certain recipes. To prevent that, it's better to pick up as many items as possible. If you don't need something immediately, you can store it in a box to keep empty space on your inventory.
Multiple bases are mandatory
![]()
The map of Ashenfall is enormous, and it will only get bigger if Jagex's Roadmap is to be believed. If you're setting up just one base, it will be highly inefficient. You can avoid this by setting up multiple bases in different strategic locations. All bases don't have to be big, and they can be used as a fast-traveling network by using lodestones.
You can create small bases with storage boxes in them, which will also allow you to travel lighter. In addition to the storage boxes, you can place workstations relevant to the area. For example, you can keep a Furnace at a location where you can mine different ores.
Finally, don't be scared of death
Death feels terrible in any game, but dying too often in RuneScape Dragonwilds feels ten times worse. The situation becomes problematic if you die far from your base, meaning you'll have to travel over a long distance without any of your inventory.
However, death is going to happen no matter how careful you are. The sooner you understand this, the better it is for maintaining your sanity while playing the game. This is also a big reason why having multiple bases and a network of lodestones is better to help you recover your inventory quicker.

Nintendo announced today that Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders in the U.S. will begin next week after uncertainty due to recent tariffs placed by the current American administration.
The company was forced to delay pre-orders out of the original April 9 date due to the ongoing global economic uncertainty, but Nintendo today locked in a date of April 24 for players in the U.S. to attempt to get access to their own new console.
![]()
Nintendo also announced that it will be holding firm on prices for the console and its games, which was also a question mark due to the tariffs placed on companies where the console is manufactured, like Vietnam and China.
The Switch 2 will retail for $449.99 in the U.S., with the Mario Kart World console bundle coming in at $499.99. The new racing game will still be priced at $79.99, while another first-party title Donkey Kong Bananza will remain at $69.99 in what Nintendo considers flexible pricing models.
But "Nintendo Switch 2 accessories will experience price adjustments from those announced on April 2 due to changes in market conditions," Nintendo confirmed, and said "other adjustments to the price of any Nintendo product are also possible in the future depending on market conditions."
"We apologize for the retail pre-order delay, and hope this reduces some of the uncertainty our customers may be experiencing," Nintendo said in its statement. "We thank our customers for their patience, and we share their excitement to experience Nintendo Switch 2 starting June 5, 2025."
The new, full Switch 2 launch lineup pricing can be found below:

Prior to Cursed Hollow, all other events in Phasmophobia only had a few maps from the large pool available for you to explore. Cursed Hollow has a daily rotating schedule with lots of locations decorated for the Easter event.
Some maps are easier to navigate and investigate than others, so you may be wondering which days the locations you want to visit are available. Certain locations also have more Forest Minions for you to find, which means you can progress through the event faster. Here are all the maps featured in the Cursed Hollow event and a breakdown of the daily schedule in Phasmophobia.

The sizes and number of nests you can find on each map are unique in the Cursed Hollow event. Here are all of the maps you can visit and how many Forest Minion nests you can hunt for around each one.
We're still working on finding all of the nests on some of the maps since only some of the maps are available each day, so we'll update this information as we find more.
All maps are decorated with twigs, fairy lights in a jar, and lots of rabbit statues to match the Cursed Hollow theme. You can only see them decorated when they're one of the active maps for the day, marked by a Forest Minion nest icon. Some of the maps have unique decorations and features for the event, so be sure to visit all of them before the event ends.
There are more maps available to explore in Phasmophobia outside of these nine. They won't work for the event, though, so you must stick only to the nine featured ones to make progress.
To experience everything the event has to offer, you may want to know how to contribute event points, all Forest Minion effects, and how to find the Forest Spirit ghost. There are lots of important quests in the Cursed Hollow event, and only a few weeks to tackle it, so be sure to explore the entire event before it comes to an end if you want to earn all of the available rewards.
