Diablo 4 Season 9 has just gone live, and while a new season is often a good time for novices to jump in for the first time, there are now a few more excellent reasons to do so as well. However, those reasons won't last forever. If you've been loyally grinding since launch or you've flitted in and out of Diablo 4, hopeful that your pals would one day join you in exploring Sanctuary, you've now got a very compelling argument to convince them. As well as being 50% off on Steam right now, and part of Xbox and PC Game Pass, Diablo 4 is free to keep for Playstation players with PS Plus.

What are the best indie games? The great indie boom triggered by digital distribution over a decade ago turned out to be more of a Big Bang, firing small-team development into a plethora of directions that now defy simple categorisation. The sheer volume is intimidating, so we have plenty to choose from when compiling our list of the best indie games. Perhaps too much.

But we should take stock to appreciate everything indie development has given us. Some of the games listed below were built in a weekend by first-time coders, while others were crafted by former triple-A creators who've instilled their independent work with the same technical standards. They barely have anything in common but a healthy dose of idiosyncrasy and ideas that make Steam worth spelunking and make our list of the best PC games.

Eight fantastic games are on offer in the latest Humble Choice selection,  each one of which works great on the Steam Deck and has a Verified or Playable rating to back it up. While a price rise for Choice was recently announced, the value on offer hasn't worsened; in fact, there's a bigger saving this month with the price rise factored into the equation compared to June.

While the Steam Deck continues its reign as the best gaming handheld, the monthly selection of Humble Choice games will run great on any handheld gaming PC with equal or greater power than Valve's portable. How do you revive in Peak? This climbing co-op game is better with pals, but can also be much harder. As you balance trying to keep the group fed, healed, and alive enough to climb Peak's many tough ascents, you might also need to revive.

But the road to the top is treacherous, and it's highly likely one of you will run out of stamina and fall, or miss a jump and meet your demise. Fortunately, if the rest of the group or at least one other person stays alive, there are several ways to revive your friends in Peak.

If you're still using an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060, and the Steam Survey suggests a lot of gamers currently are, then it looks as though you're about to lose driver support for this GPU. According to Nvidia, the forthcoming 580-series of Nvidia GeForce drivers will be the last branch that supports Maxwell and Pascal GPUs, which covers all GTX 900 and 1000 graphics cards, with the exception of the few GTX 1600-series cards that were based on the later Turing architecture.

The GeForce GTX 1060 has proved to have a surprising amount of staying power, and even now you'll regularly see this Nvidia GPU listed in the minimum system requirements for the latest games. It's also currently ranked 12th on the May 2025 Steam Survey out of all the GPUs used by gamers who took part in the last survey, with 2.24% share of the market. As a point of comparison, the highest-ranked RTX 5000-series GPU on the survey is the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070, with 0.71%. In fact, we ranked the aging GTX card number four on our guide to the best PC gaming hardware ever.

FBC Firebreak is a game I wish did well. Remedy Entertainment is famous for gripping narratives and detailed worlds, and I was hoping its co-op FPS could deliver on both fronts. Unlike Max Payne, Alan Wake, or Control, though, so far, it doesn't live up to Remedy's high standards. What are the best soulslike games? An off-shoot of action RPGs, the defining principles of this ever-growing subgenre sprung up from Demon's Souls back in 2009. However, it took the release of its spiritual successor two years later to really light a fire under fans. FromSoftware's Dark Souls is a landmark game in many respects, but the soulslike genre is its greatest legacy.

While efforts have been made to diversify soulslike games in recent years, patience in the face of adversity remains the focal point. Characterized by punishing stamina-based combat, risk-reward currency systems, and challenging bosses, victory in a soulslike leads to progression through rich worlds that often capture a dark fantasy game aesthetic. What are the best battle royale games? Each one of these multiplayer games revolves around one core idea: lots of players go in, and only one can leave (or maybe a team, depending on the game). Battle royale is a violent, unpredictable, and frenzied multiplayer mode where the only goal is to endure until you're the sole survivor(s) - and all tactics and styles of play are equally viable in the best battle royale games. You can win by hiding in bushes and waiting for the herd to thin out, or scavenge a weapon and start reducing the numbers yourself.

With the explosion of free PC games like Fortnite, Warzone, and Apex Legends, you would be forgiven for thinking there are only three battle royales out there, but there are now numerous other contenders to challenge them, each with its own spin on the established formula. Whether you're after a battle royale FPS game or an inventive new twist on the formula, there's something out there for everyone. There are times in all of our lives when we not only feel compelled to try something new, but burn with an irrepressible desire to break free from the chains of our mundane misery by experiencing a thing which we've not yet experienced.

Honkai: Star Rail Dan Heng English Voice Actor Returns

Nicholas Leung, the English voice actor for Dan Heng, announced via social media that he will return to voice the character in Honkai: Star Rail. The character has been silent in recent patches and missions. His announcement didn't mention an exact return date, so it is unknown if we could end up heading his voice again during the 3.4 Trailblaze Missions.

Leung's statement featured photos of the actor with plush toys of Dan Heng and Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae. (He voices both versions of the Astral Express member.) He thanked HoYoVerse and his fans. He also confirmed he's back in the studio recording lines for the character, including ones from past updates.

Here's the full tweet:

https://twitter.com/fencernick/status/1940074884660699190

It's unknown if we'll start hearing other familiar voice actors and actresses in Honkai: Star Rail again alongside the return of Nicholas Leung as Dang Heng. Cia Court (Himeko), Caleb Yen (Caelus), Rachael Chau (Stelle), and Cheryl Texiera (Kafka) were among the voices we stopped hearing or saw recast during the 2024-2025 SAG-AFTRA strike. We also saw it affect other HoYoVerse games, such as Zenless Zone Zero.

Honkai: Star Rail is available for the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the 3.4 update arrives on July 2, 2025.

Magilumiere Co Ltd Manga Ends in July 2025

The Magilumiere Co Ltd manga, known as Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc for the Viz Media release, will end on July 8, 2025. It started in October 2021 and began appearing on MangaPlus and Viz Media on February 1, 2022. The final chapter will be 160, and chapter 159 appeared worldwide on July 1, 2025.

The Magilumiere manga series follows a company that employs magical girls to fight enemies. Kana Sakuragi finds herself working there after college when she wasn't quite sure what to do with her life. She works alongside Hitomi Koshigaya, her mentor who helped and "scouted" her, and other individuals doing their best to help others and grow as people. Chapter 159 involves quite a leap into the future, showing Kana witnessing a major moment in Hitomi's life, before taking another step forward and teasing the final chapter.

There's still quite some catching up with physical volumes of Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc ahead of the end in Japan. There are 17 volumes available there as of June 2025, and volume 18 should cover chapters 152-160.

While the series is coming to a halt, there's another adaptation ongoing. An anime debuted on Amazon in October 2024. It consists of 12 episodes. A second season is in development.

The Magilumiere Co Ltd manga will end on July 8, 2025, and Viz Media will release volume 9 of Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc in English on August 19, 2025.

New NieR: Automata SuperGroupies Are 2 Bags and a Jacket

SuperGroupies announced three new additions to the NieR: Automata merchandise line, which consist of a jacket inspired by YoRHa and two types of bags. All of them are expected to launch in early December 2025. Pre-orders are open, and they will ship worldwide. Each one is meant to celebrate the 15th anniversary.

There are no photos of the new pieces of SuperGroupies NieR: Automata merchandise yet, so we can't see how the jacket and bags will look in real-life. Only concept art for all three pieces appeared. The YoRHa Unit Model Outerwear will be most expensive at ¥25,300 (~$176). That is a unisex coat that will appear in sizes medium through XXL. The YoRHa Unit Model 2way Tote Bag will be ¥20,900 (~$146). The "2way" in the title references how you could use the handles or the longer strap for carrying it. Finally the Scented Sachet Model Drawstring Pouch costs ¥6,050 (~$42). While scented is in the name, SuperGroupies didn't mention if there will be a smell to it.

Here's the concept art for all three items.

Quite a few collections based on the game and anime appeared at SuperGroupies. The first announced in 2023 featured a watch and two wallets. Those restocked and new bags appeared in 2024

The SuperGroupies NieR: Automata merchandise will debut in December 2025, though it's unknown if we'll see physical samples of the jacket and two bags before then. The game is available on the PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and Windows PC. The anime adaptation is streaming via Crunchyroll

July 2025 FFXIV Moogle Treasure Trove Adds Ruby Gwiber Mount

The Moogle Treasure Trove is a recurring event in FFXIV that happens multiple times a year, and the next The Hunt for Allegory run features the Ruby Gwiber Mount, Coffee Cup Earring, and Ephemeral Necromancer Minion when it begins on July 8, 2025. It will last until patch 7.3 releases in late August 2025. This is the latest installment since The Hunt for Phantasmagoria one appeared in February 2025.

The execution of the event is identical to past installments. There are Standard Objectives, Weekly Objectives, Minimog Challenges, and Ultimog Challenges you can complete to earn Irregular Tomestones. These tasks can all be checked in your Mogpendium. Standard ones tend to be associated with marked Duties that reward some of the event items and are most frequent. The Ultimog Challenge is only completed once during the whole event, while the Minimog ones show up once per week.

As usual, there's a long list of rewards on the official site showing what you get via giving the Irregular Tomestones to Itinerant Moogles. Many of these can be acquired via other means, but this might be an easier or more guaranteed way of earning them. The Moogles will be at Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks (X:9.4, Y:11.6), New Gridania (X:12.4, Y:12.1), and Ul'dah, Steps of Nald (X:9.6, Y:9.1).

Here's a list of some of the most notable items for this July 2025 installment:

  • Ballroom Etiquette - Overzealous Affirmations: 30 Irregular Tomestones
  • Coffee Cup Earring: 100 Irregular Tomestones
  • Demon Brick Earring: 50 Irregular Tomestones
  • Ephemeral Necromancer Minion: 50 Irregular Tomestones
  • Ironfrog Mover Ignition Key: 50 Irregular Tomestones
  • Machinist Barding for Chocobo: 30 Irregular Tomestones
  • Modern Aesthetics - Gyr Abanian Plait: 50 Irregular Tomestones
  • Pastoral Dot Parasol: 30 Irregular Tomestones
  • "Return to Oblivion: Orchestrion Roll: 100 Irregular Tomestones
  • Ruby Gwiber Mount Trumpet: 50 Irregular Tomestones

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. The Moogle Treasure Trove: The Hunt for Allegory event starts on July 8, 2025, then it will end when FFXIV 7.3 arrives at the end of August 2025.

EDF Developer Yuke's Making Full Metal Schoolgirl Stars Cyborgs Oneechanbara Origin

D3 Publisher announced it will release Yuke's Full Metal Schoolgirl, a game about cyborg schoolgirls fighting back against the unjust employer Meternal Jobz, worldwide. The game will launch on the Switch 2, PS5, and PC on October 23, 2025. While it is made by the Earth Defense Force developer, Oneechanbara is referenced via OneeChanbara Origin Aya and Saki costumes for Full Metal Schoolgirl leads Akemi and Ryoko as early-purchase free DLC, according to the PlayStation Blog

This is an alternative future type of game, and it suggests an abusive company called Meternal Jobz rose to power in Japan. It is not only a toxic workplace to its employees, but everyone in the country. Akemi and Ryoko are the two schoolgirls that invade the company's 100-story skyscraper to "fire" the CEO at the top. The game will feature some roguelike elements, as you'll find weapons and MODs that transform her as you fight hordes of enemies, but you lose everything except materials and money if you die and need to restart at the first floor.

Here's the first trailer:

Vtuber Sameko Saba Hits 1 Million YouTube Subscribers in Days

On June 28, 2025, indie Vtuber Sameko Saba debuted, and she already hit one million subscribers on YouTube by July 1, 2025. This happened after only holding two streams. She has no schedule on her channel or social media, so it is unknown when she'll next perform.

Saba's first stream proved to be a typical debut. In it she showed her character model, talked about her goals, and revealed she's already selling merchandise based on her character through Omocat. The full debut bundle is $200, with the least expensive items being a blind bag of $6 pins. We also know that Cillia worked on the Live2D rigging for the model and Shouu and Tousaki Shiina designed her look.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYVEIX7nSEs&t=2s

Her second stream appeared on June 29, 2025, and it involved the performer singing karaoke. One of the tracks Saba sang was "Old Town Road," which came up at the 1:11:50 mark

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_Nc-zjRmK4

It's already known that Vtuber Sameko Saba is associated with some other indie performers. Both Dooby and Nimi Nightmare referenced her ahead of her debut. Then during her first stream, Saba mentioned both of them. It is unknown if there will be any collabs involving the three of them yet.

Sameko Saba is now performing, though she has yet to issue a schedule to show when she'll appear next.

Season 9 promo art for Diablo 4

Diablo 4 Season 9 is now live on the full version of the game, and every class has undergone a few changes.

While there's no new class in Season 9, we have six options to pick from. Not all classes are equal, as Blizzard has released numerous buffs and nerfs over time. As a result, the class tier list for Diablo 4 Season 9 differs greatly from previous iterations.

Complete Diablo 4 Season 9 class tier list

We've used three tiers to separate the six classes available in Diablo 4 Season 9 based on multiple factors.

  • The buffs and nerfs on their active and passive abilities.
  • The ease of scaling/leveling up in the current season.
  • Available unique items.
  • Changes in Paragons.
  • Preferences based on their PTR versions.

S-tier classes are the best options to use in this current season. They'll provide you with the most benefit when it comes to clearing in-game content and unlocking maximum rewards. A-tier classes are decent, but they don't quite reach the pinnacle of the current meta. They're still good classes to use but limited compared to S-tier. Finally, B-tier includes classes that, although still enjoyable to play, don't quite stack up in this season's meta.

S-tier

Best Spiritborn leveling build in Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred Season 6

Our top choice for Diablo 4 Season 9's best class is Spiritborn. If you liked using this class last season, you'll enjoy it even more in this one. Spiritborn is clearly at the top, whether it's leveling or clearing endgame content. Unique items like Balazan's Maxtlatl work well with almost any build belonging to this class.

Spiritborn was already at a strong point in previous seasons, with Blizzard buffing its abilities even further. If you're struggling to clear Diablo 4's endgame content, this should be your choice.

Our second choice is Necromancer. There's some personal bias in this choice. Both Necromancer and Sorcerer are in strong positions in this new season. I've used the Necromancer class for the longest period across multiple seasons, putting this class in S-tier. My favorite is Summoning builds that rely on raising the undead. Leveling is slightly tricky compared to the Sorcerer class, but you shouldn't have any issues with endgame content.

A-tier

Diablo 4 Barbarian
Screenshot by Destructoid

Our first choice for Diablo 4 Season 9's A-tier classes is Sorcerer. It's a close battle between placing Sorcerer and Necromancer in S-tier versus A, especially since Sorcerer has received wide-scale buffs across all abilities. Lightning Spear has amazing in-game stats and strong affixes, while passives like Precision have been buffed as well.

There are multiple choices and options when it comes to builds from this class. Compared to the Necromancer, you should have an easier time leveling up with this class. However, its limited gameplay variety brings it just shy of S-tier, bringing it to a high A-tier rank.

Our next choice is Barbarian. If Season 9 is your first time playing Diablo 4, starting with Barbarian is a blast. However, the class has been readjusted significantly compared to its PTR version due to bugs.

I still enjoy the Barbarian class partially due to nostalgia, as it was my first class. Beyond this, it's a decent choice to begin the season and learn the different dynamics before branching out into other classes.

B-tier

Our first choice for this tier list's B-tier section is Rogue. This class remains limited in build variety, and most of its builds have been nerfed into the ground. Deathmask of Nirmitruq, in particular, feels extremely underwhelming. Unless you're an expert player and know what to do at every point in the game, you should avoid Rogue builds.

Last but not least, we have Druid. Druid felt like the worst class to use in the PTR despite its increased damage across all its abilities. It's a class that I would love to test more over time.

It definitely has the potential to move up, especially as Blizzard continues making notable changes from the PTR. For now, though, it's weak compared to the rest of the game's classes, bringing it down to a bottom-tier position.

This Diablo 4 Season 9 tier list is subject to change as the game's PTR testing continues. We'll continue to update this list with more information as updates continue to release.

The Emissary as she appears in the Plane of the Nine during Destiny 2's Rite of the Nine event. She is levitating slightly off the floor, with a desert, ethereal landscape behind her.

Destiny 2's new Nonary Engrams unlock some rare cosmetics for free, including collab items from The Witcher and removed Crimson Days items. And if that sounds too good to be true, there's a catch involved: they're only available during the Rite of the Nine event.

Nonary Engrams are guaranteed to give you an item you don't already have, according to their description. This is in line with our experience, which has given us only unowned items—and some were outside of the listed drops.

Here are all the items you can obtain from Nonary Engrams and how you can get them in Destiny 2.

How to get Nonary Engrams in Destiny 2

The Emissary's vendor menu during Rite of the Nine, showing her full inventory—including Nonay Engrams.
Nonary Engrams are the new cosmetic drop in Rite of the Nine. Screenshot by Destructoid

Nonary Engrams are available for purchase at the Emissary in the Rites of the Nine social hub. Each one costs 350 Nonary Manifolds, and you can buy up to 20 through the vendor's menu.

In addition to those 20 Engrams, you'll earn one Nonary Engram for free each day you log in between July 8 and 15 (the release date for Edge of Fate, the next expansion).

If you need more Nonary Manifolds, you can run dungeons on any mode, though your drops increase with higher difficulties and better scores. You can also dump your Curios of the Nine if you haven't already. Don't forget to do bounties while you're at it, since those give you a small amount of the currency.

What do Nonary Engrams contain in Destiny 2?

Nonary Engrams contain a suite of different cosmetics. Some of these are your garden-variety weapon ornaments, such as the basic Kingmaker ornament for Queenbreaker, which was available as a Twitch drop years ago and adds a plain yellow coat of paint to the weapon.

Others are returning Crimson Days items, old finishers (usually sold for Silver), and new Holo-Chips. Depending on RNG, you might also get something off-menu, though it's unclear if this is a bug or a feature. We've listed what you can expect from each drop below.

All Nonary Engram items in Destiny 2

Here are all the items revealed to be in Nonary Engrams, as seen in Destiny 2 database light.gg and on the Emissary's vendor menu.

These items may vary depending on your inventory. When we opened our 20 Nonary Engrams, we got a few items that don't appear on the table above or in the Nonary Engram pool in the Emissary's menu, so take this list as an approximation for confirmed items.

Item Name Category Descriptor Images and Notes
Kingmaker Weapon ornament Queenbreaker Kingmaker, an ornament for Queenbreaker that dyes the weapon a bright, dusted yellow.
Patient Zero Weapon ornament Outbreak Perfected The Patient Zero ornament for Outbreak perfect corrodes the weapon's base appearance. Available in Nonary Engrams.
Dead Man's Revenge Weapon ornament Dead Man's Tale Dead Man's Revenge, an ornament that brings a modernized, tactical look to Dead Man's Tale. Available in Nonary Engrams.
One Terrible Scream Weapon ornament One Thousand Voices The One Horrible Scream ornament for One Thousand Voices is available in Nonary Engrams.
Ashen Icon Weapon ornament Ruinous Effigy The Ashen One ornament for Ruinous Efficy turns the weapon purple
Atropos Weapon ornament Divinity The Atropos ornament for Divinity can be found in Nonary Engrams and dyes the weapon with a red/bronze, Vex-esque color scheme.

Drop Pod Shell Ghost Shell Exotic The Drop Pod Shell makes your Ghost look like the deadliest Cabal unit: the Drop Pods that rain down on guardians.

Ada-1's Lone Wolf Ship Exotic Ada-1's Lone Wolf has some Black Armory image, which calls back to its owner.
Death to Kells Ship Exotic The Death to Kells ship is a black Ketch with white stripes, faithful to the real deal. It's available through Nonary Engrams,
Eriana's Vengeance Ship Exotic The Eriana's Vengeance ship appears in Rite of the Nine as a drop.
Sails of Osiris Ship Exotic The Sails of Osiris uses a traditional ship model, but adds golden details and what looks to be a Vex-based turbine on top of it.

Skitterscare Sparrow Exotic (Festival of the Lost) Skitterscare, a Festival of the Lost sparrow that looks like a spider.
Eira's Grace Sparrow Exotic Eira's Grace, an Exotic sparrow that has the Solstice broken theme.
SK1 Multiband Rover Sparrow Exotic This gold-and-black sparrow has a circular device on its hood, dyed black and with a white stripe on it.
The Bronco Sparrow Exotic The Bronco, a Tex Mechanica-inspired sparrow that harks back to the Old West aesthetic.
Warsat Arrival Transmat Effect Legendary
Cabal Shield Breaker Transmat Effect Legendary
Ardent Adoration Holo-Chip Valentine's Day Bungie offered free trials of those Holo-Chips when they released, but these drops are free to keep.
Taking Flight Holo-Chip Guardian Games

Some of the items we've obtained that weren't on this list include the Aeviternal XXII ship (2018), the Propheteer Shell (2019), and the Bitcrushed Shell (2020).

What does Nonary Engrams "purchase limit reached" mean?

If you see the "purchase limit reached" message while hovering over the Emissary's inventory, this means you've bought as many Nonary Engrams as you can. You can get another of these Engrams every day you log in between July 8 and 15 for a chance at extra goodies.

The Sims 4 Plant Roof and Glass Wall update image

The Sims 4's July 1 update has arrived just over a week before the game's latest expansion, Enchanted by Nature, is slated to launch. Since the expansion pack is all about nature, this base game update is following suit with some beautiful Build Mode additions.

Glass walls and Plant on roofs

The highlight of The Sims 4's July 1 update is the addition of plant roofs and glass walls. Although expansion packs have expanded our roof and wall panel options to include various woods and metals, this is the first time we've been able to plant bushes, grass, and flowers on our houses. You can also now make your house completely transparent using glass walls, making it much easier to customize modern houses or greenhouses without using large windows everywhere.

Inventory management improvements

The first of several gameplay improvements in this update includes revamps to the game's inventory management system. You can now sort by New, Price, Crafted Quality, and Rarity within your Sim's personal inventory, fridges, bookcases, and other storage containers.

Spoiled foods also now have a red background to differentiate them from regular objects. They'll now appear in a separate spoiled item stack, where you can open it, view the items, and throw them away as needed.

Notebook and Collections changes

Two other UIs that received changes during this update are the in-game Notebook and Collections log. The notebook now features discovery badges for unseen resources, direct access buttons that allow you to view your Sim's stats more easily, and new category pages for various item types.

The Collections log features similar changes to inventory management, letting you sort by Rarity, Name, Missing, and other categories that help you filter collectibles more easily. You can also sort collections by completion progress. Finding a new collectible will now animate your inventory icon, making it easier to tell if you found a new item while skilling or digging up rocks.

You can view the full patch notes for The Sims 4's Planting Seeds of Enchantment update through EA's official announcement.

Promo image for Marvel Mystic Mayhem.

MARVEL Mystic Mayhem puts a lot of focus on team-building, and it's even more important if you're a free-to-play player.

There are different modes, and a team good in one might struggle in another. Over the last five days, I have been pretty lucky to get some of the best units currently available. I also managed to test out a couple of other accounts to check out all the 3-stars currently in the game. This guide will help you make the best possible squads for every available mode, and I have focused on the builds for F2P players, because why not!

Best MARVEL Mystic Mayhem teams for all game modes

Before diving further into the guide, it's important to understand the core of team-building.

Every team in MARVEL Mystic Mayhem typically has three members. There are exceptions to this rule (more on that later), but you'll be mostly using characters in a team of three. Here are my two favorite archetypes.

  • Striker+ Defender+ Controller: This is by far the most balanced combination to use, and you can run this from the very beginning (as you'll be given these three roles for free). The Defender absorbs the bulk of damage while the Striker is your DPS. The Controller plays the role of a supporter by pushing out heals and buffs/debuffs.
  • Fighter + Defender + Controller: A bit more defensive, but it's a good choice if you're a beginner. Replace the Controller with a Striker when you need to clear enemies quickly.

In the end, you can also run your combinations, based on the characters you manage to pull. With that out of the way, let's take a look at some optimum builds for all game modes. For starters, I have put the Memento and Story modes at the end.

Official artwork for Marvel Mystic Mayhem.
Image via Exptional Global

Battle Bonanza

The Battle Bonanza mode has two variants.

  • Mysterium Coin: The objective is to defeat a swarm of enemies within a minute, with 20 being the minimum and 50 being the maximum. Ideal Heroes: Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Storm (characters that deal AoE damage).
  • Tactic Report: Defeat three separate enemies within 30/50/70 seconds. Ideal Heroes: Doppelganger, Psylocke, Lady Bullseye, Misty Knight (characters who specialize in single-enemy strikes).

Treasure Hunt

Treasure hunts have four locations where you get a bonus tile. You'll have to match the class type on that tile to get a hefty bonus. You can place other character types on the standard tiles.

  • Striker: Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, Lady Bullseye, Hulk, Armor, Sentry
  • Defender: Hulk, Doctor Strange, Thor, Angela
  • Controller: Emma Frost, Hulk, Thor
  • Fighter: Lady Bullseye, Psylocke, Hulk, Angela, Thor, Iron Man

Fabled Finds

The Fabled Finds section is pretty important, as it allows you to find Artifacts. The boss changes daily, so you'll have to focus on the weakness to get an advantage. Here are the four bosses available in the current version of the game and the best teams to run against them.

  • Boss Lady Bullseye: Hulk, Psylocke/Thor, Iron Man/Lady Bullseye/Emma Frost.
  • Boss Juggernaut: Hulk, Emma Frost/Thor, Scarlett Witch/Psylocke.
  • Boss Thread: Angela, Armor, Lady Bullseye, Iron Man.
  • Boss Doppelganger: Armor, Lady Bullseye, Psylocke, Scarlet Witch.

Story and Memento Modes

After defeating the Level 40 Iron Man (which is a supreme challenge to clear), I have realized that there are no so-called based teams for either the Story or the Memento modes. These are two prime forms of content that you'll need to clear to take your account to the next level. However, every chapter has different challenges to encounter.

I have listed some of the best characters for every role, which will help you form your team accordingly. Once you determine the needs of a specific mission, you can construct a team accordingly.

  • Defenders: Hulk, Armor, Sentry, Juggernaut
  • Strikers: Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, Lady Bullseye
  • Fighters: Thor, Psylocke
  • Controllers: Doctor Strange, Emma Frost, Sleepwalker (avoid if possible)

Once we get additional characters as part of future updates, they will be added to the list, and some of the ideal team compositions might change.

Phoenix on fire with fiery eyes in marvel rivals

Season three is bringing loads of fresh content to Marvel Rivals, and if you're eager to dive in, you need to know what's new. Reviewing the patch notes ahead of time is a great way to learn what you should be looking for.

Like all other seasons, this one brings tons of new additions to the game. It can be a lot to navigate, so here are the complete early patch notes for everything coming in season three of Marvel Rivals.

Marvel Rivals season three patch notes

Phoenix and Blade battling side by side in Marvel Rivals
Screenshot by Destructoid

Here's a full breakdown of everything we know about season three so far. As new details are shared, we'll add them here, so you can check back to stay up to date with all of the latest patch notes information.

New hero: Phoenix

Phoenix is soaring onto the battlefield as a ranged Duelist with a fiery new skillset. She wields the immense power of the Phoenix Force, has a unique chain reaction mechanic, clears away enemy summons, and much more.

New Team-Ups

Two new Team-Ups are being added to the available collaborations you can use. These Team-Ups are:

  • Primal Flame – Phoenix and Wolverine

    • Phoenix is the anchor of this Team-Up, as she infuses Wolverine with the Phoenix Force. When Wolverine uses his Feral Leap, this force is activated to burn nearby enemies over time. It also adds Lifesteal to all of Wolverine's attacks.

  • Ever-Burning Bond – Human Torch and Spider-Man

    • Human Torch acts as the anchor, channeling his fiery abilities into a special gadget for Spider-Man. Spider-Man can use this device to shoot a flaming web that deals damage and activates a special Burn-Tracer. He can then use his Get Over Here! move to zip to the target and cause a small explosion for additional burn damage,

Team-Up changes

There are also some adjustments to existing Team-Ups. Hela is joining in on the Symbotite Shenanigans with Venom and Jeff the Land Shark. Squirrel Girl is aligning herself with Ultron and Iron Man in Stark Protocol.

Storming Ignition, with Storm and Human Torch, and ESU Alumnus, with Squirrel Girl and Spider-Man, will be retired in season three as most of these heroes move on to fresh Team-Ups. The Guardian Revival Team-Up will remain, but it's being slightly nerfed.

New map: Klyntar

A fresh battleground is emerging in season three. This map is Klyntar: Celestial Husk, a new location that has similar Symbiote vibes to the already existing Klyntar: Symbiotic Surface map.

A new form of customization called hero accessories will become available with the launch of this season. Hero accessories are small items that attach to characters, similar to keychains.

The first batch of them has accessories for Psylocke, Winter Soldier, Jeff the Land Shark, Groot, Rocket Raccoon, Invisible Woman, Emma Frost, and Spider-Man. Points to acquire these items are earned by playing Quick Match and Competitive rounds.

Ultimate VFX

Some outfits will offer a new type of customization called Ultimate VFX after this update. As the name hints, this will unlock special new visuals for your abilities in combat. These changes will only be visible to you to maintain clarity on the battlefield.

More in 3.5

When the first half of season three ends, season 3.5 will bring even more content to Marvel Rivals. Some of the exciting additions have already been teased, including Blade's highly anticipated arrival and new Team-Ups.

Minecraft copper golem

Mojang just announced the return of one of the most helpful mobs Minecraft has ever seen. As of today, you can playtest the Copper Golem and its matching copper tools, letting you experience the joys of chest organization while appreciating its adorableness.

The Copper Golem first appeared during Minecraft's Mob Vote 2021, where it and the Glare lost against the Allay. Forgotten by the community for some time, it's now available in the game as part of a beta testing update in Bedrock Edition, with Java receiving the update sometime in the near future.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=542rY0DQHIM

The addition of the Copper Golem is arriving alongside copper chests, tools, and armor as part of the Vibrant Visuals update. Copper is now a tier between stone and iron, making it a handy resource to obtain early in a new playthrough before you start farming for iron, diamonds, and Netherite.

The Copper Golem itself also has one main perk: item management. As you toss items into copper chests, it'll take those items and organize them into empty chests or those that have a copy of that resource. In short, if you throw some diamonds into it, the Copper Golem will bring them to any chest that already has diamonds in it. If you don't have a diamond chest, it'll put them into any empty one you have.

Every copper item coming to the Vibrant Visuals update will also oxidize over time, giving you several base decorating options. That way, if you want a bunch of orange chests mixed with green-blue armor and an orange golem, you'll have a chance to customize everything however you'd like.

At the time of writing, the Vibrant Visuals update is only available on Minecraft Bedrock Edition. There's currently no word on when it'll arrive on Java Edition.

What's your favorite Minecraft mob? Are you now a Copper Golem fan, or are you more of a Happy Ghast person? Let us know using the poll below or drop a comment below!

Diablo 4 Season 7 class tier list

Diablo 4 Season 9 is centered around the 2.3.0 build, and there are plenty of changes in the final version. If you have tested the PTR version, you'll have a fair idea about the buffs and nerfs. Blizzard has made a few changes that will be included in the final version.

Let's take a look at some of the main changes that will be part of the new patch, which goes live on the public build with the release of Season 9.

All Diablo 4 Season 9 class changes

All six classes, including Spiritborn, have undergone a few nerfs and buffs. As things stand, it's unlikely that there will be too many changes in the class tier list for Season 9, based on the patch notes alone.

Barbarian

  • New unique item called Hooves of the Mountain God.
  • Damage increased for all Barbarian Abilities.
  • Passive ability Outburst guarantees at least 1 Thorn per bonus max health threshold, ignoring the player level.
  • Changes to different Paragons.

Druid

  • Significant damage increase on all abilities.
  • Changes to Toxic Claw passive, as it now deals increased poison damage.
  • Nerf to Vigilance.
  • Unique two-handed weapon Rotting Lightbringer.

Necromancer

  • Unique gloves called Hand of Naz.
  • Increased damage for all abilities.
  • Buffs to Affliction, Shadowblight, and Ossified Essence passives, while Rathma's Vigor has been nerfed.
  • Bloodbath Paragon nerfed.

Rogue

  • Overall increased damage for all abilities.
  • Buffs to Close Quarters Combat and Precision passives.
  • Unique helm called Deathmask of Nirmitruq

Sorcerer

  • Unique amulet named Ophidian Iris
  • Buffs to all abilities, barring Invoked Lightning Spear.
  • Buffs to most passive abilities.

Spiritborn

  • Unique Pants named Balazan's Maxtlatl.
  • All-round improvements for all abilities.
  • Buffs to Noxious Resonance, Nourishment, and Acceleration passive abilities.

To go through the complete set of changes, make sure to check out the official patch notes.

All Diablo 4 Season 9 general changes

The new season also brings a few important changes to gameplay.

  • Improved overall consistency of Whisper Cache rewards.
  • Get more gold but reduced chances of caches of crafting materials.
  • Collection of gems have more gems.
  • More cinders from Kixxarth.
  • No more Magic and Rare items from Nightmare Dungeons in Torment Tiers.
  • More gems from Infernal Hordes Materials Chest.
  • World Bosses now drop a guaranteed Infernal Compass.

There's a host of miscellaneous changes that are part of this latest patch.

  • Keyboard and Mouse play is now supported on consoles.
  • Summons, such as Druid Companions and Necromancer Minions, now properly inherit Lucky Hit and Overpower bonuses.
  • Any unintentional instances of the Met rune, which was removed prior to Season of Hatred Rising, have been converted to a Yom rune.
  • Adjusted multiple tooltips across the game to clarify the difference between Drain and Consume. Added two loading screen tips to help players understand the difference.
  • Spending Resource is the act of casting skills and your resource being reduced by an amount. Some mechanics in the game interact with spending, and the amount spent can be reduced with the Resource Cost Reduction stat.
  • Consuming Resource counts as spending resource for the purposes of interacting with ability mechanics. The amount consumed is fixed and cannot be lowered by Resource Cost Reduction.
  • Draining Resource does not count as spending for the purposes of interacting with ability mechanics. The amount drained is fixed and cannot be lowered by Resource Cost Reduction.
  • Resplendent Chests in the Temple of Rot have been replaced with regular chests.

It will be interesting to find out how the changes work now that they're available in the full build.

The Nature's Calling event in The Sims 4 is designed to prepare us all for the upcoming release of the Enchanted by Nature expansion pack. As such, it has many nature-focused tasks for you to get done weekly, including many quests for week two.

Many of these missions ask you to interact with gameplay elements you may not be familiar with. If you're stumped on any particular task, here's how to complete all week two Nature's Calling event quests and all rewards you can earn for doing so in The Sims 4.

There are six quests you need to get done in the Enigma of the Cove series. All of them must be tackled around Foundry Cove, so you need to head over to a specific section of Willow Creek to tackle them.

Quest How to complete
Have a Sim spend time outdoors. Have a Sim spend a total of two hours outdoors. You can be outdoors anywhere you like as long as you make sure you're not under a roof. You can check their "Spend time outdoors" Moodlet to see how much longer you need to wait. You'll likely complete this task naturally while working on the rest of the quests in this series, so you can save it for last if you like.
Travel to Foundry Cove. Open your Sims phone, select the Travel icon (green car), and choose the "Travel to Foundry Cove" option. Foundry Cove is one of the neighborhoods in Willow Creek.
Buy a telescope. Open Buy Mode, purchase any telescope, and place it down at your home lot.
Use the telescope to look for signs. Click on the telescope you bought and select the "Look for signs" option.
Dig up some rocks. Find a rock spot around Foundry Cove, click on it, and select the "Dig" option.
View the mysterious tree. Click on the Mysterious Tree in Foundry Cove and select the "View" option. This is the tree that leads to the Sylvan Glade. It's a brown twisted tree covered in colorful mushrooms.

The Comfort of Nature quest series has four tasks for you to complete. Although there are fewer to get done here, they require a lot more effort, which means you'll likely end up taking longer on this section.

Quest How to complete
Buy a hot tub on a home lot. Open Buy Mode and purchase a hot tub for your home lot.
Complete one level of any nature Aspiration. Select any nature Aspiration for your Sim. The available options are Country Caretaker, Outdoor Enthusiast, Purveyor of Potions, Freelance Botanist, Angling Ace, The Curator, Jungle Explorer, Crystal Crafter, and Eco Innovator. Once you have one selected, work on and complete any goal for it.
Craft two Reclaimed Wood Dining Chairs. Claim the Reclaimed Wood Dining Chair recipe for working through some of the week two quests. Find or buy a woodworking table, click on it, and select the option to make a Reclaimed Wood Dining Chair. Repeat this process to make a second one. You need to be Handiness level three to craft this item.
Soak in a hut tub using the Flowing Fronds Swimwear. Complete enough week two event quests to claim the Flowing Fronds Swimwear. Enter Create A Sim, equip this swimsuit in the Swimwear category, click on a hot tub, and select the "Get in" option.

All week two Nature's Calling event rewards in The Sims 4

There are four main rewards featured in week two of this event. You also get three additional items for your hard work, but they're assets you can already obtain outside of this event.

  • Reclaimed Wood Dining Chair woodworking recipe
  • Flowing Fronds Swimwear
  • Foraged Feast food recipe
  • Touch Grass Weekly, Issue #2 (Collectible)
  • 100 Satisfaction Points
  • Handiness Vol. 2: Sparks are Nature's Kisses (Book)
  • Instant Fun (Potion)

There are more quests arriving throughout the rest of the event, so make sure to get these ones done as soon as you can so you can be prepared to tackle them. The event is live until Aug. 8, so you've got plenty of time to work through it. You may want to get it out of the way before the Enchanted by Nature expansion pack is released, though.

Fortnite Supernova Academy tech lab door

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3: Super's Kickstart and story quests are here to teach you about some new mechanics. During this season, you'll learn about Hero Ranks, superhero-themed locations, and additional Sprites to make things more interesting.

At one of the season's new locations, Supernova Academy, you'll find locked lab doors containing special Hero Caches. However, opening these requires knowledge of Hero Ranks and the academy's layout. Let's dive into how to open Supernova Academy's tech lab doors in Fortnite.

Academy tech lab locations in Fortnite

To complete Fortnite's "open locked doors in Academy Tech Labs while at Hero Rank A or above" Kickstart mission, you'll need to either head to Supernova Academy and enter the southeast wing's basement or visit any lab around the map. Here, you'll find several locked doors that, upon opening, will progress you through this quest as long as you're Hero Rank A or higher.

Fortnite Supernova Academy tech lab map location
Screenshot by Destructoid

Supernova Academy is the best and easiest place to find them, as this POI is available every round and includes several doors to unlock. However, you can also find up to seven other Academy Tech Labs scattered around, indicated by a flask icon on your map. These are much smaller spots that appear as spherical, spaceship-like structures with an underground lab area.

How to open Supernova Academy tech labs in Fortnite

Opening Supernova Academy's tech lab doors requires increasing your Hero Rank. Some doors only need Rank C, while others are only accessible after leveling to Rank A. A-rank doors, in particular, are required for your Power Training Kickstart quests.

You'll know what ranks you need for each door by approaching them and checking their letters. If the letter in front is green, your rank is high enough to open it. Otherwise, you'll need to venture out into the world and increase it before returning to the academy.

Once you open one of Supernova Academy's tech lab doors, you'll have access to small shops, Hero Caches, and holograms containing special gear. You can easily find epic-grade or even legendary items behind these doors, especially if you reach A-rank and open multiple.

How to increase Hero Rank in Fortnite

Hero Rank is a feature in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 that lets you open powerful Hero Caches. Here are some ways to increase your Hero Rank:

As you survive in your rounds, eliminate other players, and help Sprites return to their shrines, you'll gradually increase your Hero Rank, letting you open Hero Caches and access Supernova Academy's tech lab doors. Your rank appears at the side of your screen and resets at the end of each match.

Scarlet Witch flying in front of academy tech lab in fortnite

Many quests you come across in Fortnite task you with visiting specific locations around the island. For the Super season, one of the most essential spots you frequently need to find and visit is Academy Tech Labs.

There are many different areas with one of these labs for you to find. There are some special rules around them, though, so you may have a tough time actually tracking one down. If you're struggling to find one, here are all Academy Tech Lab locations in Fortnite.

Where to find Academy Tech Labs in Fortnite

Map locations of academy tech labs in Fortnite
Screenshot by Destructoid

We've found a total of eight Academy Tech Labs you can visit around the island in Fortnite. Not all of them are open in each round, though, and there are generally a total of five open at a time.

The chosen Academy Tech Labs are open as soon as the round begins. Four of these locations change in each round, while the one at Supernova Academy is always available to visit. Here are all of the spots you can visit to check for them.

  • Underneath Supernova Academy.
  • North of Shining Span.
  • Southeast of Utopia City.
  • West of Outpost Enclave.
  • South of Canyton Crossing.
  • Northwest of Shogun's Solitude.
  • West of Lonewolf Lair.
  • South of Foxy Floodgate.

The entrance to all Academy Tech Labs is marked with a large circular orb that you can enter. Once you're inside, you'll find the loot right down the stairs. Some of it is locked behind doors, so you need to work on increasing your hero rank to gain access to it.

Venturing to all of these locations to find the ones that are open takes quite a while, but luckily, there's a way to check which ones are open to make finding them much easier. It's best to learn this process so you don't waste time traveling around the island.

How to find Academy Tech Labs in Fortnite

To determine which Academy Tech Labs are open in the match you're playing, check for the special icon that marks these locations on the map. This icon is a vial next to the Supernova Academy circular logo. All active Academy Tech Labs in the round will be marked with this icon except for the one at Supernova Academy, which is always active.

Four Academy Tech Lab icons marked on a map in Fortnite

What's inside Academy Tech Labs in Fortnite?

All Academy Tech Labs have an array of powerful loot for you to grab, including many of the exclusive weapons featured in Chapter Six, season three. Inside, you'll find Hero Caches, chests, Hero Stands, locked Academy Tech Lab doors, and more.

As you open the many containers situated around these locations, you'll find many useful items like the Surf Cube, Boons, and Myst Gauntlets. Academy Tech Labs also have an open Rift inside, so if you need to make a quick getaway or wish to swiftly travel a great distance, visiting one of these locations is a great way to do so.

When you're done exploring these locations, you might want to get to work tackling key quests around the island for XP. Some good ones to work on are gathering the clues left by the instructorshitting hero practice targets at different hero training outposts, and assembling surveillance gear at Demon's Domain.

Ryu, transformed into a dragon, blasts a beam of energy at enemies in Breath of Fire 4.

I finished Final Fantasy VII back in 1999, and it left a huge, JRPG-shaped hole in my life. I desperately needed another game to play that could hit that same vibe, scratch that same itch. But then I was only 12 years old, and guns were cool.

So I bought Rainbow Six and, while it was an awesome game, it didn't come close to relieving my itch. It was only a couple of years later, when I discovered Breath of Fire IV, that I had relief for a few glorious weeks.

Remembering my fondest JRPG experience

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCJ8XHol-D4

Don't get me wrong, Final Fantasy VII is still my all-time favorite game, but it still doesn't feel like a JRPG to me. At least, not in the traditional sense. From the second you boot up Breath of Fire IV, there can be no doubt. You've officially entered JRPG territory.

The intro is actually one of the very best in all of gaming. I just watched it myself, and I'm hyped to play all over again. Luckily, in April of this year, we got an exquisite PC port—but I'm getting ahead of myself here.

I digress. The point is, back then, BoF 4 felt like my first true JRPG experience, and it's been my fondest to date.

In a nutshell, you play as a newborn dragon who must eventually go out and defeat an entire empire. Only a slight challenge, then. That said, you are human; you just have the ability to transform into a dragon at will.

That idea alone is enough to pique my interest, but the game as a whole is just fantastic. Every aspect of the world perfectly matches the theme, and everything feels coherent and interconnected. This could just be nostalgia talking, but the world design truly is an example to the rest of the industry.

Every character is vibrant and beautifully written, too. There's even one character that ends up being two characters, but in a single body. A unique concept that sounds a little out-there, but BoF 4 pulls it off effortlessly. One random memory still rattling around my head is this room where you have to solve a puzzle, and there's this parrot that yells at you and gives you terrible hints. At least, the sound effect made me believe it was yelling. Memorable scenes like this, even with very minor characters, is what this game's made of.

Then there's Fou-Lu, an ancient dragon that you also sporadically play as, and boy, is he cool. He is a total badass, allowing us to take a break from the struggles Ryu faces and have a little power fantasy.

The story itself isn't mindblowing. It's fairly predictable and mostly sticks to common themes. That doesn't mean it's bad. There are plenty of twists and shocks along the way, even if you do see them coming, and it's well worth paying attention to.

A remake isn't even necessary

An animal approaches an apple on a tree stump in a trap set by Ryu and friends in Breath of Fire 4.
Image via Capcom

Many PS1-era games aren't exactly strong in the graphics department. Most of them wouldn't be anywhere near award-worthy by modern standards. Breath of Fire 4 is different. It's still a stunning game, with a distinct and appealing style.

Fully rendered 3D environments are overlaid with 2D character sprites, and the effect is striking, and could compete in the stylistic department even in modern times. The animations are also expertly done and are some of the smoothest you'll ever see.

The gameplay itself is also great. The turn-based combat doesn't feel particularly slow, and the variety of mini-games and environments all lend themselves to a fantastically paced game overall. There's also a lot of contrast in this pacing, allowing you to go from frantic stretches of battles to caring for a peaceful fairy village. From a tense, narrow escape from the empire to fishing in a gentle stream.

It's all enough to make this game a fine experience even today. And if you want, it's been available since April on the Good Old Games website for PC.

So why do I even want a remake?

Why a remake would be amazing

Ryu faces off against Fou-Lu in a battle scene in Breath of Fire 4.
Image via Capcom

I may just be selfish here, but I really want to see the legendary Fou-Lu (the ancient dragon) in HD, with his clothes billowing in the wind and his katana glinting in the sun. I want to see him transform into a legendary dragon in real time.

I want to see general Rhun get his ass kicked in full 3D. I want to see the cities and the world as a whole, stylized to fit the original, but in greater detail. I want to hear Ryu and Nina's voices—both running characters in the series, and we've never gotten to hear their voices at all.

But most of all, I want to see the story fleshed out a little bit more. I would not hesitate to spend way more time than necessary in this world chasing down subplots, meeting residents in need, and fighting the empire on various additional fronts. The story is strong enough to warrant expansion without making it feel watered down.

That said, you're already in for a 36-60 hour playtime, so it's no minnow. But I'd easily spend over a hundred hours in a world this interesting and not get bored. So I, for one, really want a remake, even if just to experience its beautiful, thematic, sometimes insane world all over again.

What do you think? Is the original good enough, or is it about time we got a full remake of Breath of Fire IV?

Fortnite Hero Rank promo image

Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 3: Super is all about letting out your inner superhero and performing heroic deeds. By taking charge throughout your matches and putting your best foot forward, you can rise Hero Ranks, rewarding you with powerful bonuses.

What is Hero Rank in Fortnite Super Season?

Hero Rank is a mechanic in Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 3: Super that rewards you for performing heroic deeds. You start every match at C rank, with S+ being the maximum you can reach. Below is a list of every Hero Rank:

  • C-rank
  • B-rank
  • A-rank
  • S-rank
  • S+ rank

Fortnite c-rank hero rank
Screenshot by Destructoid

Each time you rank up, you'll receive 100 Effective Health, making it much harder for enemies to attack you. However, your rank will reset every game, giving you only until the end of a round to reach S+ rank. The longer you survive a match, the higher your odds of climbing the ranks and earning some sweet rewards.

How to increase your Hero Rank in Fortnite Super Season

Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 3 has several heroic deeds you can perform to increase your Hero Rank, as listed below:

Fortnite C-rank hero cache
Screenshot by Destructoid

Several factors influence how many points you'll receive, including whether you're playing solos or in a squad, to the rank of your enemies when you eliminate them. If you're in a solo lobby and defeat an S-rank player, you'll earn more points than fighting someone who's only B-rank. Similarly, the points from Storm circles scale depending on how far you are in the round, giving you another reason to stay alive as long as possible.

All Hero Rank rewards in Fortnite Super Season

As you increase your rank, you'll unlock special Hero Caches that give you rewards. These can be anything from weapons to consumables and Boons. Here's a list of rewards you'll get from each Hero Cache, depending on your rank:

Rank C

  • Uncommon weapon
  • Uncommon consumable
  • Low chance of a Boon

Rank B

  • Rare weapon
  • Rare consumable
  • High chance of a Boon
  • Random Hero item

Rank A

  • Epic weapon
  • Epic consumable
  • Guaranteed Boon
  • Random Hero item

Rank S

  • Legendary weapon
  • Legendary consumable
  • Guaranteed Boon
  • Random Hero item

Fortnite hero cache map icons

Rank S+

There's no Hero Cache for this one. Instead, you'll hit a massive Power Spike, rewarding you with every Boon you were previously missing. Their effects improve after reaching Rank S and range from giving you the Slap Effect after healing yourself to marking players who attack you.

As you reach each rank, you'll find map markers indicating where each cache lies. In short, you can randomly find them in the wild or follow the markers directly to your next spot and claim their rewards. You also won't be locked out of previous caches if you rank up. Instead, you'll just have more goodies to obtain as you run around and fight enemies.

All Hero items in Fortnite Super Season

Alongside usual items like weapons, potions, and other consumables, you'll also receive Hero items in later ranks. Below is a list of every Hero weapon you can find:

  • Myst Gauntlets
  • Killswitch Revolvers
  • Bass Boost
  • Tracking Visor
  • Myst Form
