I wish Everdeep Aurora wasn't so frustrating to play. It's a beautiful little game, with charming characters, a fascinating concept, and interesting idea. But because of the lack of simple quality of life features like tutorials or a more conducive save system, your journey into the depths can be quite cumbersome.
Shell is a tiny cat waiting for her mother aboveground. Meteors are hammering the planet. All she has is a letter suggesting they meet at their place. After a kind frog named Ribbert offers an old drill to dig to safety, the kitten heads into the depths to find her mom, potentially assisting other people along the way.
Like many digging games, such as Steamworld Dig and Mr Driller, Shell's goal is to continually head into the depths to reunite with her missing mom. You start out with a basic drill with two batteries. However, by digging through certain materials, exploring certain areas, and taking on quests after talking to other denizens of the deep, you can get extra equipment or necessary fuels to dig further down. Charging stations come up at spot, which allow you to turn gems into energy for the drill. Also, as there aren't really enemies to deal with, it's more of a leisurely descent.
The problem is, there are no explanations whatsoever in Everdeep Aurora. So while the game looks incredibly charming and features some fun interactions with NPCs, you're left lost. There are no tutorials whatsoever. How do you work the drill? Experiment and find out. How do you recharge it? I hope you instinctively went through blocks with red flecks in them, then happened across a charging machine. What about upgrades or ways to go forward? Or getting a map? Saving your game? Figuring out fishing? If you don't drill down in the right direction, good luck with that.
Inventory management is awkward too. You do so by moving left and right through everything in the left box with the D-pad. If there's a note, you then also need to press up and down to read through everything. I'd have killed for a proper menu by the end of the game when Shell had a lot of stuff on-hand.
The thing is, there are times when those quality of life additions felt sorely needed. There's no explanation about how to save at any point in the game. You only discover it if you happen upon a campsite and tent when going through the underground area. This means if you made significant progress and, say, the game crashes on your Switch, you can lose lots of work. Or maybe you go into an area and find the wall jump location doesn't give you enough of a lift to actually reach a certain platform. You might be trapped, with no way to go forward or back, and need to accept that you'll start back with lots of progress lost to get to that point again next time. I could even understand foregoing the ability to save anywhere, but an autosave when you enter a doorway would be sorely appreciated.
Which is odd because in other ways, Everdeep Aurora is considerate. You can set the size of the font. (That's a godsend on the Switch in handheld mode.) You can have Ribbert come and get you if you're trapped. However, that only applies to certain areas in the depths. Though the color scheme is limited, it's incredibly crisp and easy to ready through everything.
I love the concept behind Everdeep Aurora, as the design direction is flawless, but it can also be quite a cumbersome game. The lack of quality of life features really hurt it. If there were some tutorials or perhaps a better save system, I'd feel a lot more comfortable recommending the game. But as is, I'd really only recommend it if you enjoy savoring in-game aesthetics and really meandering through a world working out everything on your own.
Everdeep Aurora is available for the Switch and PC.

The Bandai Namco Pokemon model kits always vary in complexity, even if you're going with one of the standard ones and not a Quick kit. Sometimes there might be an accessory. A variant may include its prior evolutions. The Meowscarada Pokemon model kit is one that can be a little more intricate at times, due to the implementation of some elements for this cat character.
To start, this is a simple model kit like many of Bandai Namco's, so you don't need to worry too much if it's your first one. I do recommend having nippers, as there are some parts on the runners that are quite small. Tweezers are handy as well, since a few stickers for the paws are tiny. But no glue is needed and, honestly, you won't need any paint or sandpaper either.
At a glance, the Meowscarada Pokemon model kit might not look all that complex. There are really only four different colors for the runners, which are black, white, pink, and green. There are no waterslide decals. The only options are stickers. Everything snaps together. However, the execution helps showcase the extra bit of care that does come up. This is reflected in the cape, which features leaf veins to add additional texture to the interior. Parts are included to add extra flare to the arm parts as well. The flower bulb is a separate floating entity attached via translucent plastic attached to the back of the figure that can be adjusted for different poses.
When you get to certain parts of the build, however, there are notable parts in which Bandai Namco used extra pieces instead of stickers to add a little more embellishment. The nose for this cat Pokemon is a separate piece of small plastic that needs to be carefully placed into the green A2 piece that peeks through the character's "mask." Because it's so small, I suggest keeping the piece in the runner and trying to properly aim and attach it to the green piece while still connected so it doesn't get lost.
That kind of care is also required for the stickers. These are in place for the eyes, mouth, claws, and paw pads. All if these are incredibly small. One of the more efficient means of dealing with them that I employed was keeping them on the runners. Have the tweezers on hand for peeling them off. This allows more careful placement in the proper spots.
Once you do get the more delicate parts completed, the Meowscarada Pokemon model kit really starts feeling satisfying. There are a lot of points of articulation here. The head turns at the neck, you have two face parts for expressions, you can turn the paws at the wrists, the elbows and shoulders move, and legs bend at the hips, knees, and ankles. It allows for a lot of possibilities.
Meowscarada is one of those detailed Bandai Namco Pokemon model kits that really does the cat character justice. It's satisfying to put together. It's not too difficult a build, so anyone could pick it up. The finished character also looks really great, so you have a figure that looks good when displayed thanks to the number of poses possible. It's just handled very well.

In the long history of Destiny as a franchise, there's always been one feature of the game that brings players together from across the world. Raid races.
Ever since The Vault of Glass back in 2014, gamers have raced or tuned in to watch streams of players attempting to become the first-ever to clear the hardcore endgame activity, and Destiny 2's The Edge of Fate expansion continues the trend with the new raid, The Desert Perpetual.
One team of six Guardians will "become legend" and earn bragging rights and exclusive loot as the only team to become first in the world to finish The Desert Perpetual. Top streamers and Destiny 2 players will be logging on and taking part, but you, too, can do so by playing when the raid goes live on July 19 at 12pm CT.

What is Contest Mode in Destiny 2?
In Contest Mode for The Desert Perpetual, Guardians are capped at 100 Power. This means that anything higher than 100 Power will default to the cap number, thus ensuring vast difficulty as enemies will progressively become higher Power levels throughout each encounter.
Every player that completes the raid during Contest Mode will be granted the raid's exotic weapon. Once Contest Mode ends on July 21, Power advantages will be enabled once again.
Disabled items
To ensure competitive integrity, several items are disabled for the duration of Contest Mode.
Raid Race rewards
Anyone who completes the raid during Contest Mode (ends on July 21 at 12pm CT, 48 hours after it begins), will earn the exclusive emblem Timeline's Blade. Anyone who completes the raid at any point will receive the emblem Third Unknown, pictured above.
The winners will receive special rewards including a world first raid race championship belt. Bungie will also sell a special jacket, bag, and pin for anyone who links their Bungie account to the Bungie Store and completes the raid, as part of the Bungie Rewards system.
The Desert Perpetual loot pool
Data mines reveal that the raid's exotic will be a Strand rocket launcher, but there is also an auto rifle, combat bow (new crossbow weapon archetype), fusion rifle, rocket launcher, sniper rifle, and submachine gun when it comes to legendary weapons, along with exclusive armor sets for each class.
More about which encounters drop which piece of gear will be revealed as players progress through the raid.
Raid race streams to watch
Bungie is partnering with several streamers across different languages and regions who will be hosting watch parties for the race, along with the developer hosting a pre-show beginning at 11:45am CT.
Individual player perspectives will also be found in the Destiny 2 Twitch directory, featuring top streamers and raid racers looking to win their first race. Others will be looking to become two-time, three-time, or even four-time winners.

How does College Football 26's Recruitment work?
The job begins under the Recruiting section, which has different tabs. The process of recruitment starts with the Prospect List, which includes all available freshmen. Every freshman has several attributes, and here are the key ones.
Let's now take a look at how scouting works.
How does Scouting work in College Football 26?
You'll have a weekly quota of scouting hours, which allows you to deep dive and find out more about a potential recruit. These include Attributes, Abilities, Mentals, and Development Trait.
There are some important points to remember. Development Traits are usually hidden if your coach doesn't have the required badges. Athletes can also have hidden traits that might lead to better development (even if they have sub-par starting attributes).
Completing scouting on a prospect allows you to spend your Scouting Hours on different actions to bring him on board. You'll have to be smart, as the same strategy won't work successfully for all athletes. You also have a limited number of scholarships to hand out, so it's better not to waste them in the first place.
This is where understanding prospect interest and Dealbreakers comes in.
How do Dealbreakers work in College Football 26?
Dealbreakers this year have a dynamic nature, but they function in the same way. Go to the My School tab, and you'll find the relevant grades for your program. The higher the grade, the better it is. The grades also determine your school's prestige, and they can change based on how you're performing on your save.
Every recruit will have minimum requirements for certain grades, which your school will have to satisfy. This becomes far more important when it's a Dealbreaker. If your school fails to satisfy that, it's almost certain that the recruit won't be joining your program. This automatically dictates the interest of the athlete in joining your roster.
Dealbreakers are like any other grades, but they carry more weight. Failing them will automatically end all negotiations (even if the athlete had an interest in your program).
The aim is to have the athlete commit verbally to join your school. This will take time as they finally confirm their choices. Don't forget to use the Scouting hours to attract their interests to quicken up the decision-making.

The difference between a successful and a failed Dynasty save in College Football 26 often comes down to how well you can identify between Red and Green Diamonds during scouting.
When you start approaching a fresh recruit, you won't have all the relevant information. As you put more hours into scouting, you'll get to learn more about a potential recruit. Sometimes, a prospect will have a bright green gem under their name. At other times, you'll get a white heart with a cross symbol under their name.

College Football 26 Red Diamonds explained
Red Diamonds have "diamond" in the name, but you'll want to avoid them during your scouting. Every prospective recruit has a star rating. However, if he is a Red Diamond, he has a lower star rating in reality. A 4-star prospect who is a Red Diamond is actually a bust, and its accurate prospect rating is 3-star.
Additionally, chances for such athletes to have bad development traits are pretty high. In short, you should avoid a recruit if he turns out to be a bust, unless there's a desperate need for his position in your roster. It's not that a Red Diamond won't develop; they will still improve with experience and training, but to a lesser extent than what's suggested by their Star Ratings.
College Football 26 Green Diamonds explained
On the opposite side of the spectrum are the Green Diamonds. Occasionally, you'll come across an athlete having a bright green gem under their name. If you unearth one, that athlete is going to be better than their star rating. A 3-star Green Diamond will actually have the abilities of a 4-star talent.
Similarly, chances are higher for them to have better development traits as well. However, convincing a Green Diamond to join your school's program will be very difficult unless you're among the top-rated choices. This significantly raises the challenge if you're managing either a 2-star or a 3-star rated school, as star recruits don't want to join weaker sides.

You awake to a friendly face, yet you cannot remember a thing. It's a moment of peace before your strange Hell begins. Thrown into the deep end like Groundhog Day set in space, you're forced to relive the same day on a loop. But why? Your crew on the surface seems normal, but there's something just slightly off about them that you can't put your finger on.
An infection puts the entire crew and humanity at risk, and the only way to stop it is to find out who is carrying the Gnosia on board. The person the infected once was is now long gone, replaced by a masquerading parasite as them. Wearing their face, speaking their voice, it's down to you and your crewmates to figure out which one of you has a dark side.
You send those you suspect to be Gnosia to cold sleep after arguing moments prior and holding a vote. Reach the end of the day alive and with the Gnosia correctly identified to continue pushing towards the truth and a means to end the time loop. While you awake to the same alarm every day, you're comforted by the fact that you're not alone. Crewmate Setsu knows they're looping too. But why only us two, and why can't I remember a single thing about how I got here?
 A game of Mafia with a sci-fi twist
This is GNOSIA, a social deduction game inspired by Mafia/Werewolf. With anime aesthetics in a beautifully unpolished watercolor scheme that gives it charm, GNOSIA behaves much like Among Us, Town of Salem, and Danganronpa. The goal on paper is simple: Find the Gnosia and put them in cold sleep before they kill us all. You have a set of classic RPG-like abilities like Charisma, Charm, and Logic. These are important for holding conversations in and outside the cold sleep discussion and voting system. Five rounds make up the discussion before you make your final verdict, where you either doubt or cover one of your crewmates.
It's a terrifying thought, being the only person who cannot remember how they got here or who they are. You're comforted by the faces around you, but the paranoia that resembles The Thing warns you that not everyone can be trusted. Don't be distracted by the pretty visuals, wholesome moments, and cute dialogue. Pay close attention because if you get too complicit, you won't ever figure out a way out of the time loop.
 There's beauty in its repetition
While GNOSIA has a simple design in its gameplay, its repetition means you will quickly catch onto what's happening around you, much like your amnesiac protagonist will do as well. It could be seen as a flaw that you repeat the same day, but there's so much variety in the dialogue and paths you can go down by modifying your loop. It's a really interesting take on the Among Us formula, as it's down not only to your social deduction skills, but also that you need to piece everything together based on what you've seen so far. I had a genuine eureka moment when I got stuck for a while with no new information, which gave me one of the most satisfying gaming experiences I've had in a long time. You can clearly see what has influenced GNOSIA, yet there's nothing quite like it. Its art, memorable characters, cutscene variety, and great pacing retain the mystery at all times.
GNOSIA reminds me of that super underrated sci-fi film, Coherence. I'm not much of a visual novel fan and found this premise in games like Raging Loop very repetitive, yet GNOSIA managed to retain my attention at all times. It was addictive and fun to hang out with such quirky characters. Visual novels are known for their dialogue and narrative, and this is where GNOSIA rises above the rest. The sci-fi mystery is near flawless, with full circle and the occasional scary moment, paired with a beautiful, glitchy score that perfectly fits the setting. I badly wanted to see how this game ended, and I still get goosebumps thinking about it.
