In the four years since its release, I don't feel that Scarlet Nexus ever received the recognition it deserved. It combines hack-and-slash combat with telekinetic magic and ties it all together with an engaging narrative. Why it wasn't more popular is beyond me, but I hope the fact that Fanatical has brought it down to its lowest price ever for a few days will encourage some new people to play it.

Mega Evolution comes to TCG Pocket in a special set coming this fall, but didn't give many details on the reveal, only showing off a few new cards. For Pokémon Unite, Empoleon, Dhelmise, and Vaporeon were revealed as the following playable characters that'll be added to the game over time.

Eternatus makes its debut at Pokémon Go Worlds in a special surprise raid for eventgoers before Max Finale next weekend. It has truly been a packed schedule. Trainers were able to catch Eternatus for the first time in a special sneak peek.

We also got some brand new news for the Pokémon TCG, with new Mega Pokémon like Mega Charizard X ex and new alternative art cards shown off for a lot of upcoming Pokémon. The first Mega Dragonite card was also shown off.

Legends Z-A also showed off a new four-player battle mode that almost plays like a Battle Royale mode. You have to fight against one another to score points and be the top trainer in quick battles. We also received new information on Pokémon Legends with Mega Evolutions shown off. Additionally, the game will serve as the main game in the World Championships in 2026.

We were also revealed Pokémon XP, a new event that will happen alongside Worlds 2026. Not many details were revealed, but we did get the dates for Pokémon Worlds next year, from Aug. 28 to 30.

The announcements dropped just a few minutes ago during the 2025 Pokémon World Championship finals broadcast in Anaheim, during the closing ceremony, where trainers of all ages found out who would be this year's World Champion.

This year's World Final was a little bit different than previous years. As we already knew where the 20-26 World Championship would be held (in San Fransico, for those unaware) there were a lot of eyes wondering exactly what The Pokémon Company would have in store this year, especially as a lot of the mini announcements we got between finals didn't show up, leading to one grat big finale.

And after the music ended and the dancing was done, we were not disappointed to discover what the team had plans to reveal this time around.

This article is being updated.
