stone shape (for yourself or her)

But don't be too confident, either, if you're considering a
ring purchase and you/she has never worn the selected center
stone shape on your/her finger (read below first!).

Dastardly over-achievers all, before they ever visit our website
some of our first-time customers already have an engagement ring
design they want in mind.

They may have been dreaming of that design forever...clipped a
pic of one they liked in a magazine or online...glimpsed someone
wearing a design that they want, too...or are looking for
something similar with quality cubic zirconia to a diamond ring
they already have (e.g. "the travel/insurance replica"
shopper).

With more than a million customizable ring options on our site,
we stand ready to help these folks navigate our product catalog
to find one with the exact ring look and features they want...and
they often make a purchase with little time or trouble.

Others aren't so sure.

They might even be clueless about design elements, metal type
and more. At the very least, though...we have found that a good
percentage of customers do have an idea of one or more center
stone shape preferences in mind before they even get to our
website (for themselves or a gift recipient).

This email is here to help those who DO know the center stone
shape option(s) being considered for that ring purchase...and
those who DON'T.

Hint for the guys: In our experience, if she's at all interested
in jewelry she DOES GIVE HINTS about the kind of jewelry she
likes or would like to receive as a gift (by "hints" we could mean:
verbally admiring a piece someone else is wearing while in your
hearing, excitedly pointing out a piece of jewelry in a store window,
advertisement or on television, or musing that she thinks ABC
design-type on a piece of jewelry is cool).

Reality for the guys: She DOES expect you to catch at least
some of these hints! The good news is that her preference(s) for
a ring's center stone shape is an easy preference to get, to
remember and to use when purchasing a ring she'll love and see as
evidence of how thoughtful you are. :)

NOT ALL CENTER STONE SHAPES
FLATTER ALL FINGERS

What about you, ?

Did you know that different center stone shapes crowning a ring
look differently on different types and sizes of fingers?

Do you by any chance need help in choosing the right center stone
shape for a ring?

If you need help selecting, be sure to check out this article:

Which Center Stone is Right for Me/Her?

And if you DO have an idea of which center stone(s) you
want...but you/she have/has NOT worn that on your/her finger
before...you should also take a break from all our pronoun
stuffing and give this linked-to article a quick read before you
whip out your credit card.

That's because when choosing the right stone shape to wear (or
buy and gift someone to wear):

  • Not all center stone shapes will look good on all finger types
    (the "finger flatter" test)

  • Not all center stone shapes are a good fit for all lifestyles
    (the "touchy feely" test)

While we believe all of our 5A/AAAAA diamond-quality cubic
zirconia stones look gorgeous when set onto any of our engagement
ring designs...Not all of these differently-set rings will look
the same when worn by different fingers.

Choosing the right center stone shape for a ring or other piece
of jewelry is a decision that should take into consideration not
just popularity or preferences for how something might look or
make you feel, but also the intended wearer's physical
attributes and lifestyle. This is especially true for rings--
which sit on the hand, the body part most used to do stuff.

Skinny fingers.
    Stubby fingers.
        Long fingers.
            Wide fingers.

These different hand types all wear different stone shapes set on
a ring above that finger differently.

WARNING: Some finger+stone shape combinations may look more
FREAKY in the mirror than you/she want(s) to appear.

For example, a marquise-cut center stone may look pretty on long
slender fingers but may appear awkward on short, thick fingers.

A traditional, round-cut center stone is generally a safe choice.
However, a large round-cut stone worn on shorter fingers will
sometimes look gaudy to the wearer-- and others.

And the lifestyle questions are important, too.

Does the lady who will wear that ring engage in sports?
Prefer mint chocolate chip ice cream?
Work often with her hands?
Dress up as a clown on weekends?

2 of these 4 things should absolutely be taken into account when
deciding Which Center Stone is Right for Me/Her. You'll find
out which two for sure when you click!

Why are we sending you this today? Well, you see...we've had
customers in the past who fell in love with a particular ring
design and center stone shape only to find out after they've
already purchased that:

  • the ring's center stone shape doesn't really look good atop
    her short, stubby finger.

  • the ring's center stone shape isn't compatible with her
    "handsy" job.

  • the ring's center stone shape makes her feel like a villainess
    in a Disney movie.

Of course, we'd like to avoid the cost and effort of making a
60-day guaranteed exchange for someone if they'd just have
spent a couple minutes to read the darn article before spending
the money to buy a ring-- or worse than an exchange, even being
asked to refund good money we already spent on Coors Light,
red wine and Kentucky bourbon.

LOL Seriously, though...we put a lot of (wo)man hours into
writing this special guide in the hopes that sharing it with
folks considering a ring purchase might save just one
destined-to-exchange from making us have to work too hard and
hunt down those glass beer bottles just for the recycle
redemption money.

So, if you're considering a ring purchase for yourself or a
gift recipient...before you take the plunge on a purchase, please
take a look? After all, for someone dreaming of that ring
forever, a few minutes of delay to firm up your pick won't really
matter all that much.

Just give us the finger, and we'll get you the information you
need to choose the right center stone shape for you... or for her
:)

Let's flatter that finger together.

P.S. Many gift-giving customers struggle mightily to pick the
"one ring" out of a sea of options (we make and sell millions
of ring combinations). That's why we recommend FIRST choosing
the Center Stone Shape, which narrows the possibilities
tremendously. And for gift-givers...with a bit of advance
planning, awareness and/or questions to
friends/family/co-workers....this is a pretty easy preference to
get from your intended gift recipient, too...WITHOUT ruining your
planned gift surprise.
