Okay. So, a staple in shojo manga series is to eventually introduce some sort of love triangle conflict. The goal is to add a little drama to possibly add a "will they or won't they" element to the story. Does it get annoying? Absolutely! Especially when it's dragged out. Volume 4 of The Small-Animallike Lady is Adored by the Ice Prince manga continues that type of plot line from the third one, but Hisui doesn't drag the situation out and instead introduces the mature and realistic approach of Lily and Prince William actually talking to work it out.
Editor's Note: There will be some spoilers for volume 4 of The Small-Animallike Lady is Adored by the Ice Prince manga below.
The conflict in the third volume of The Small-Animallike Lady is Adored by the Ice Prince manga stemmed from a visit by the princess of the kingdom of Belluno, Marianne. She came to the kingdom of Zavanni for a visit and, throughout much of that installment monopolized Prince William's time so his fiance Liliana was left to her own devices. When secretly exploring outside of the palace in disguise with guards, Lily ran into the two of them together, with Marianne hanging on Will's arm. This led to mistaken impressions of the situation, which carried over to the initial issue in this volume. However, instead of dragging it out, things are handled in an actually mature manner.
While the outset of this volume offers are first view of the situation from Marianne's perspective, confirming she did come to the country to drive a wedge and become Will's new fiance as some suspected and Lily assumed after seeing them together, it quickly gets into practical advice and proper communication. When Will is lamenting Lily's behavior and anger, his guard and even Princess Marianne both say he needs to talk to her. Though it is awkward between the engaged couple when they do come together in the next scene, both of them don't drag out this mistaken situation. Will apologizes and explains, as does Lily. (Though she does freak out a bit momentarily thinking his apology is because he intends to break their own engagement.)
As a result, we get to see how productive conversations between a couple we know love each other works out. The two of them explain themselves. The set a time for another date, which shows their commitment to each other. Then when they go out, which also involves scouting a location for a school Lily wants to build for children in the city, they're completely focused on the task and each other.
What's interesting, however, is volume 4 of the The Small-Animallike Lady is Adored by the Ice Prince manga also shows how communication helps the situation between Lily and Princess Marianne too. After the "crisis" is over, it still seems the foreign royal isn't entirely giving up on her plan, since she at the time sees it as the only recourse to aid her own country during a salinity crisis. When the two of them get a chance to properly talk upon the opening of the finished school and classroom, it leads to new revelations between them and a possible positive relationship.
Which is great, as it all comes back to The Small-Animallike Lady is Adored by the Ice Prince being a shojo manga that focuses on positivity. It's sweet! It's funny! The leads generally care for and respect each other! Now with this volume, we see they handle issues responsibly and with clear communication. It's lovely to see.
Volumes 1-4 of The Small-Animallike Lady is Adored by the Ice Prince are available now, and Yen Press will release volume 5 of the manga on July 28, 2026.

The Fantasy FC promo is now live in FC 26, and it has introduced several live cards to Ultimate Team.
All cards released as part of the promo will be eligible for upgrades in the near future. The upgrades will depend on how the players perform in real life. Moreover, the performances of their respective clubs will also be considered.
This guide will help you keep track of all incoming upgrades as they roll out.

The Shatterseal Great Sword is a weapon like anything else in Monster Hunter Wilds, and obtaining the opportunity to craft it is a test in itself.
The Great Sword has always been one of my favorite weapons since the launch of Wilds last year. However, the Shatterseal Great Sword is an exclusive item that was added to the game in February 2026's title update.
While you can craft the weapon for free, getting the chance is a difficult task. Let's look at the exact process so that you can add it to your arsenal.
Table of contents
How to craft the Shatterseal Great Sword in Monster Hunter Wilds
There's one piece of good news and one piece of bad news when it comes to obtaining the Shatterseal Great Sword. The good news is that you can craft it with the Master Craftsman's Blueprint. The bad news is that obtaining this blueprint is quite difficult. If you've only started recently, it's best to get beginner weapons instead.
To get the Master Craftsman's Blueprint, you have to complete the new quest called Every Hunter's Dream. While the quest isn't as hard as the Proof of a Hero event, it's a challenging one. You have to take down four Tempered Quematrice and a Tempered Mizutsune in this 8-star event. The quest, once started, will lead you to Wounded Hollow.
You have to complete the quest in 50 minutes, and you're allowed a maximum of three faints. If you're a veteran, completing the quest shouldn't be a challenge. However, you'll have to complete the event three times. You will need a total of three Master Craftsman's Blueprints if you're aiming to get both the Shatterseal and the Shatterseal Drakesnest Great Swords.
The Shatterseal Drakesnest becomes a necessity if you want to use the Shatterseal Great Sword as a Layered Weapon.
Here's the complete list of requirements.

Weapon Skills
While the Shatterseal Great Sword is pretty great in terms of skills and stats, it's not the best option when it comes to endgame weapons. If you're going to use this for 9-star and 10-star quests, you'll want to go with the Shatterseal Drakesnest route. The lack of true elemental damage really holds back this weapon, but it's still worth adding to your arsenal.

I'm getting pretty fed up with recent video game adaptations. Some of my favorites have hit the big screen in recent years, and while some are hits, they fail to convey themes, emotional impact, or hold onto the artistry from the original. There are adaptations that bring new fans into an already established fanbase, while others (though gross millions of dollars...how?) seem to forget what made the original so bloody brilliant.
Now, you may have enjoyed the examples I'm going to bring up and rightly so, everyone's entitled to their opinion. By no means have I watched every video game adaptation, but I have noticed a pattern in recent years that is starting to exhaust me.
Where adaptations fail
Missing the point
If you go into one of these adaptations with knowledge of the original, it's safe to say that you're going to be disappointed. This seems to appear most frequently with horror movies.
Until Dawn was a 2015 interactive masterpiece that brought the iconic slasher subgenre to a video game format. It played like Scream or Friday the 13th, having a cast of both likeable and dislikeable characters that grew through shared trauma. Supermassive Games excelled here and haven't since reached the same heights this game packed with personality, charm, and jumpscares had (House of Ashes was close). While the cast did a great job in the adaptation, Until Dawn could have been so much more.
But Until Dawn was one of the toughest watches I've had this past year for how far it strays from its source material. Mixing Happy Death Day with Cabin in the Woods, Until Dawn is so far from its 2015 title that it truly frustrated me to watch. There was no signature red herring, the Wendigos were as tame as Walkers in the later The Walking Dead seasons, and everything was reduced to a tired time loop that had nothing to do with the original. Hiring Peter Stormare isn't enough.
Though its conclusion did something most horror wouldn't dare to do, this reimagining was unsatisfying and predictable. This is a shame, because if it didn't have the IP, I probably would have enjoyed it a lot more.
Then there's Return to Silent Hill, and this one destroys me. How can you fuck up an absolute masterpiece in psychological horror? The town of Silent Hill takes on a resident's psyche, becoming the physical manifestation of their trauma. Yet, James's story and its impact is greatly reduced and dimmed, having its lore adjusted for a worser viewing.
The complexity of Silent Hill 2 is severely missed from this adaptation; where playing as a man, a human, a monster—guilt-ridden and forced to face his irreparable actions, is pitied by altering his relationship and actions so that we have no choice but to feel for James. The original managed the same effect but with masterful storytelling. This poor adaptation paints a world where an audience cannot grasp depth beyond "X is good, Y is bad."
The Hollywood Effect
Then we have the crime of terrible casting decisions that many recent video game adaptations have done. These masterpieces don't translate well on-screen because what made them special is that they are video games with impactful storytelling and meaningful characters. So when I heard The Last of Us (TLOU), Uncharted, and Silent Hill 2 (SH2) were getting adapted, I was so excited... until I saw the cast.
The charm, banter, and personality of the Uncharted series made it addictive and unmissable. The characters felt real through their interaction with one another and the world that was continuously trying to kill them. Maybe I'm just a hater, but there isn't an ounce of acting prowess in Mark Wahlberg's abilities. The story is drastically different from the original as it acts as a prequel to Nathan Drake's endevors, yet that cannot stop me from hating the "chemistry" between the cast. Tom Holland lacks the charm of Nate and instead appears arrogant and "witty." Mark Wahlberg completely butchers Sully that he's just a paranoid, soulless, boring man that in no way resembles the reliable silver fox from the games.
I would have taken literally anyone else to star in TLOU and Uncharted, but alas, we get the Hollywood treatment—where the most popular stars riding the wave of infinite money and relevancy get to perform roles with mediocrity and expect fans to lap it up.
Race-swapping in TLOU, reducing the age gap in Uncharted to switch Nate and Sully's dynamic from father-son to brother-brother, and the woefully terrible casting in Borderlands and Minecraft Movie turn adaptations into a cash grab with no soul, passion, or creativity. Bad casting decisions turn the adaptation into a joke that isn't funny. It becomes an easy paycheqck for the lucky actors whose role would never be made for them.
The falling dominos of wrong choices
I understand when shows or films make changes from the source material for the better. This is especially the case with book adaptations as a lot of dialogue is needed to fill the film's runtime. But there are multiple instances where game adaptations make writing changes that worsen the storytelling. I previously mentioned Return to Silent Hill, but TLOU, The Witcher, Halo, FNAF, and Uncharted are all culprits of this.
Shows like The Last of Us blew up and won awards, driving many new fans to the IP in the process. But (like with Silent Hill), Naughty Dog's adaptations change their detailed, flawed, and very real characters for the worse (aside from Bill's episode). Joel Miller is reduced to a frowning grumpy man who looks like he doesn't want to be there, Abby is a monologuing Bond villain, and Ellie is...well...dim, immature, and fond of violence. Eugh.
Henry Cavill left The Witcher at the end of season 3 due to various changes writers made that prevented the show from being faithful to its source. Halo shows Master Chief's face which, though makes sense, is a jarring change for fans of the franchise who grew up with this legend. It's even stranger when someone like the Mandalorian is allowed to spend most of his screentime inside a helmet. There are drastic relationship changes in Five Nights at Freddy's which makes the movie all the more convoluted. Plus, there is nothing scary about FNAF's adaptation yet it features on-screen gore with a script that only five-year-olds can enjoy.
When video game adaptations work
Characters characters characters
Adaptations thrive when they study its characters. What made games like Until Dawn, Silent Hill, or TLOU difficult to put down is their characters. Satisfying arcs, personalities with dimension, questions of morality, humility, and the human condition are covered to showcase beautiful imperfections. We can see this in Arcane, Fallout, and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
These shows are packed with emotion, where both internal and external conflict are featured in every episode. Their believable characters allow us to fully immerse in the rich world, much like reading Tolkien or Martin. We stay for the story not only to see how it concludes, but because we're here for the journey flawed characters go on.
Rich worlds full of possibility
Where adaptations like TLOU or SH stumble in replicating nuance, Iron Lung and Arcane shine. They're not restricted by the source material, but expand upon and strengthen particular aspects from the original. Iron Lung dives into the psychological when faced against a cosmic threat. Arcane delves into social and class systems, poor versus rich, and the threat of technology and magic; inviting us into a fantastical world that I for one, cannot get enough of. In a similar vein, there's Fallout. These adaptations have so much material that they can cherry-pick what to adapt and tune it until it's perfect.
Finally, there is a lot of entertainment value in movies, Super Mario Bros. and Sonic the Hedgehog. While they're not for me, films like these are a good time because the original franchise doesn't take itself seriously. These are the perfect games to adapt for blockbusters as it doesn't need to go beyond the surface.
I'll end my rant on this question: If video game adaptations are fanservice, which fans are they serving? Certainly not me.

The I Need a Bigger Boat quest in Windrose's demo is key to getting a new (and bigger) ship for you to sail on your adventures, and completing the task can be slightly tricky.
You get access to the quest quite early once you finish the tutorial quest. However, you'll first want to complete the Rescuing the Crew quest. The reason is simple: you'll need a crew to repair the ship.
Let's look at how you can repair and get yourself a bigger ship in the game.
Table of contents
Shipwreck site locations in Windrose
The first part of the task involves finding the broken ships lying around the second island. You'll find one on the north-west shore (not shown on the map). If you interact with it, you'll get to know that it can't be repaired. Thankfully, there are two other ships that you can find.
To make your life simpler, you can track the quest from the menu. This will reveal the location of the ships that can be repaired with the correct resources. The second ship (the first repairable one) is located in the middle of the second island.
The zone will have plenty of enemies, so you should be careful. You'll find its location in the image above to make your life easier. You'll find several areas patrolling the ship, so be careful. Try to isolate before finishing them off.
When you interact with the ship, you'll learn about the requirements. You're going to need the following materials.
However, you're going to need to unlock the location of the third wrecked ship (the second repairable one). The location will also be marked on the map. Once you've discovered all three ships, you can start with your repairs. You need to repair just one ship and go for the second one (the first repairable one). By now, you should have all the resources and the crew needed for the repairs.
How to repair the ship in Windrose
Interact with the ship with all the required items, and you will be able to complete the repairs. Once repaired, return to the first island and speak with Doctor Galen. He will tell you about the need to recover the artifact from the prologue.
This will complete the I Need a Bigger Boat quest and unlock the Seafarer tutorial.

Copper Ingots are one of the most important resources in Windrose, as you'll need them for different purposes.
From completing quests to creating new tools/items in your base, there are many uses of Copper Ingots. However, you won't find them lying in the open.
How to craft Copper Ingots in Windrose
You'll get introduced to Copper Ingots right after starting the first tutorial quest. The quest will teach you about the basic activities you need to ace as a pirate. Here's how you can start crafting Copper Ingots.
Next, you'll need to craft a Charcoal Kiln to create Charcoal. Use 25 Wood and 20 Clay to build the Kiln. You can use the Kiln to convert one Wood to one Charcoal. The next task involves building a Smelting Furnace for producing the Ingots. You'll need 15 Clay and 30 Stones.
Once your Smelting Furnace is up and running, use the Copper Ore in it. You'll also have to use Charcoal that you obtained from the Kiln. Wait for a few seconds for your Copper Ore to convert into Ingots.
To produce one Copper Ingot, you'll need six Copper Ores and one Charcoal. Ideally, you'll want to produce as much as possible since you'll need them to complete quests like I Need a Bigger Boat.

Roblox has been no stranger to controversies lately, as several lawsuits have been leveled against the game on the grounds that it does not do enough to protect children from predatory behavior. Though primarily frequented by very young kids, Roblox allegedly does not do enough to keep them from harm, or so claims the most recent of several suits filed against Roblox Corporation, this time by Los Angeles County.
On Feb. 19, Roblox Corporation was sued by LA County because "children in Los Angeles County have been repeatedly exposed to sexually explicit content, exploitation, and grooming on Roblox," as the company has "put corporate profit over the safety of children." The game enjoys a considerable audience of very young children, and it "has a responsibility to keep kids safe." However, LA County alleges that "instead it has allowed its platform to become a place where children can be exposed to grooming and exploitation."
Roblox has since responded to the lawsuit, saying that "no system is perfect" but that its "commitment to safety never ends," PC Gamer wrote. "We strongly dispute the claims in this lawsuit and will defend against it vigorously," the company added. "Roblox is built with safety at its core, and we continue to evolve and strengthen our protections every day."
"We have advanced safeguards that monitor our platform for harmful content and communications, and users cannot send or receive images via chat, avoiding one of the most prevalent opportunities for misuse seen elsewhere online," the statement continues.
"We take swift action against anyone found to violate our safety rules and work closely with law enforcement to support investigations and help hold bad actors accountable," they conclude.
This isn't the first lawsuit of this kind Roblox has found itself embroiled in. Last August, Roblox was sued by the State of Louisiana, which argued similar points as LA County. Back then, state representatives wrote that "[Roblox Corporation] has permitted and perpetuated an online environment in which child predators thrive, directly contributing to the widespread victimization of minor children in Louisiana."
Criminal subpoenas were issued to Roblox Corporation by the State of Florida last October, which labeled the game as "a breeding ground for predators."
On top of it all, Roblox Corporation chief executive David Baszucki flaunted the idea of betting in Roblox, claiming it could be implemented educationally in the game, stirring further controversy and causing people to doubt the company's commitment to protecting children.

Windrose, an open-world co-op pirate action-adventure game, has accrued over one million wishlists so far, even though it doesn't even have a set release date. Its comprehensive demo seems to have captivated such a broad audience that folks just can't get enough, and having tried it out myself, I kind of see why.
Windrose's demo came out on Feb. 17. Since then, droves of players have hopped on to check what it's all about, discovering an incredibly fun and deep survival crafting experience set during the Golden Age of Piracy, i.e., sometime during the early 18th century. At its core, Windrose is very reminiscent of Valheim. Hell, it'd be difficult to determine if they were made by different people.
You're stranded in a strange land, have to craft and build to sustain yourself, and then eventually expand and start sailing the high seas in search of new fortunes. It's a simple gameplay loop, one that Valheim popularized and almost perfected. But where Windrose stands out is its setting, as Valheim's celestial Nordic backdrop (while amazing) seems to have been a poor choice for such a game compared to the West Indies.
Taking on the role of a crestfallen captain stranded alone on an island and having to build yourself back up is a more interesting pipeline than Vikings ending up in some form of the afterlife, at least to me. On top of that, Windrose refines the combat and gathering mechanics, utilizing the power of the Unreal Engine to combine stunning visuals with grounded movement and fighting. I know a lot of people are averse to hearing those two words, and I'm wholeheartedly with you.
However, the devs here knew what they were doing, and instead of slapping on a generic photorealistic graphical style and calling it a day, they actually decided to pursue a unique art direction, which has ultimately paid off.
With over one million wishlists total so far, and the demo having been out for just five days as of this article, I have a feeling that we're yet again looking at a potential indie smash hit that is to blow AAA competition out of the water. In fact, I think Ubisoft is particularly feeling the weight of Windrose's success, given the abject failure that was Skull and Bones.
That game purports to do much of the same as Windrose, but generally fails on all accounts, even though it has the incredible Assassin's Creed Black Flag piracy system serving as its basis.
An indie in the West Indies is probably going to be crowned king of pirate games, and certainly of survival crafting titles, seeing as that genre has a particular knack at totally overwhelming the gaming sphere (just remember how well Palworld did back when it first launched).
