Creative Assembly's Total War games offer up a wide spread of factions, from rampaging Gauls to furtive and disgusting Wood Elves, but they're all a little beholden to the ancient game of rock-paper-scissors: spears beat cavalry, cavalry beat swords, swords beat spears.

I think Creative Assembly generally do an impressive job of softening that triangular countering logic by means of terrain considerations, flanking, morale and other supporting mechanics. Cavalry won't necessarily beat swords if the cavalry are all tuckered out and spooked. And then you have wildcards, like heroes and war machines, who can mess with the logic more dramatically: Rock paper Mortis Engine! Still, I can't deny that I often feel drained on firing up a DLC-fresh Total War army and realising that, yep, I'm roshamboing again.

Slay The Spire 2's first actual proper major update is upon us, an avalanche of balancing tweaks and fixes for the roguelite deckbuilder that has approximately two goals: making some of those insectile cards less appalling, care of the previously announced Phobia Mode, and dialling back the prevalence of infinites – that is, card combos with effects that allow you to carry on playing them forever in a single turn.

Last week, the folks behind PEGI (Pan European Game Information) - the age rating system used for games in Europe outside of Germany - announced plans to update their age rating criteria with four new categories. Games which feature the likes of loot boxes, NFTs, or daily quests designed to push players into coming back because otherwise they'll miss out will automatically be given higher ratings. The ratings board's US equvivalent, the ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board), have now revealed that they won't be following suit at least for now, because they're concerned parents could end up scratching their heads.

Marathon game director Joe Ziegler has posted a defence of the decision to release the game's new Cryo Archive map as a weekend-only event. The time restriction has understandably left the more casual Marathon players a bit miffed. It has driven our own Oisin into the arms of Peggle. But Ziegler argues that it's important for three reasons: encouraging players to prepare adequately, avoiding the "flooding" (hey, is this another Halo reference?) of the game's item economy with overpowered Cryo Archive rewards, and ensuring a consistent player pool for the purposes of speedy matchmaking.

The SteamOS 3.8.0 update is available to try now on the Preview branch, and it's the first to bring "initial support for the upcoming Steam Machine hardware." That is, of course, merely a passing mention of Valve's reborn PC box in the 3.8.0 patch notes. Am I going to engage strong, some might say excessive optimism that this suggests its recent delay and subsequent release date uncertainty aren't as damning as they look? Sod it, it's Friday.

Those in search of more practical updates, and presumably own a Steam Deck, have much more to chew on. This is a wide-ranging patch, spanning a new graphics driver, improved support for OBS and Discord, better frame pacing with Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) tech, crash fixes, and a bunch of tune-ups for non-Valve handheld PCs, with plenty more besides. I'm most intrigued by the bullet point that promises "Preliminary support for hibernation," which – assuming it works like hibernation on a Windows laptop – would drastically reduce the frequency with which I pick up my Deck to find its battery dead, drained to emptiness by my thoughtless misuse of Sleep mode. Yes, Valve. Continue to enable my shortcomings.

Well, it was never going to wrap up that neatly, was it? It turns out that the emergence of an internal memo revealing that Subnautica 2 is aiming for an early access release in May won't be the moment that the messy legal dispute between publishers Krafton and three former lead developers on the game - one of whom's now been reinstated - ends.

Lawyers representing Unknown Worlds co-founders Charlie Cleveland, Max McGuire, and Ted Gill - the three leads - have now accused Krafton of having "intentionally leaked" the memo from Steve Papoutsis, the exec the publishwrs put in charge after firing Cleveland, McGuire, and Gill last year.

Pearl Abyss have released the first proper update for their grand and obfuscatory open world RPG Crimson Desert, introducing a slew of tweaks for the game's many, many systems. The developers have added new finishing blows or follow-up attacks and skills for certain moves, and a new tutorial quest for a particular section in chapter 3, but the most important changes, I think, are the bug fixes and general attempts to make Crimson Desert less "like a product exploding at the waist with far too much stuff and an irritating tendency to avoid communicating anything to the player", as one critic put it. In particular, you may be relieved to hear that bosses can no longer beat you up while you're reviving.

Tales of Berseria Remastered Feedback Survey Includes Wallpaper

Bandai Namco shared a Tales of Berseria Remastered feedback survey asking folks to share what they thought about the remaster release in February 2026 in exchange for a mobile wallpaper based on the JRPG. It is live on the official site, and anyone worldwide can share their thoughts. However, it will only be open for two weeks.

Most of the questions in the Tales of Berseria Remastered fan feedback survey are pretty typical. Bandai Namco starts by asking how you got the game, when you bought it, which version you grabbed, and which platform you're using to play the JRPG. It also asked if someone played the original too. From there, the company asked general question about how much people enjoyed it and various features of this Tales of remaster, thoughts on new features people liked most, and if they'd recommend it to others. It also asked what Grade Shop items people used, if they took advantage of it. General feedback can be provided at the very end in an open-ended answer box.

After that, more general Tales of series questions come up. For example, Bandai Namco asked which platform we played these JRPG games on. It also asked which ones we played. It asked about general genres people enjoy. Then, it gets into demographic information about people like age and location.

This follows a major patch that primarily affected the PC version of the game. While all versions got some bug fixes, there's a new frame rate option there. If you head into the options menu, you can now select a 120fps option for gameplay. Note that will only affect overworld and in-battle elements, as other parts will be locked at 60fps.

The original Tales of Berseria is available on the PS3, PS4, and PC, and the Remastered release is on the Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. People can take the survey until April 2, 2026.

Chrono Trigger Character Sprites Used for One Mark Collection Gacha

Square Enix announced a new assortment of Chrono Trigger personal marker style merchandise based on sprites of characters from the JRPG, and they'll be available in a One Mark Collection in Japan. These will show up in capsule machines starting on March 27, 2026. It will be 500円 (~$3.15) per try. It is unknown if we could eventually see them worldwide or Square Enix sell them via their official store at some point.

There are 15 keychains in this collection, with one being an unrevealed "secret." All seven of the main cast members are present, and there are two versions of each one. One tends to be the character in a more neutral pose, while the other shows them about to attack in a fight. Each one has a lobster claw hook attached to the top of the charm, so you could attach it to a zipper or use it as a keychain, and that arrives attached to an elastic band that could be put on a water bottle or an umbrella.

Here are all the confirmed appearances:

  • Ayla
  • Crono
  • Frog
  • Lucca
  • Marle
  • Magnus
  • Robo

And there's an initial image that shows 14 of the 15 character sprite charms that are part of the Chrono Trigger: One Mark Collection set.

This Chrono Trigger merchandise is showing up following the 31st anniversary of the game. It originally debuted in Japan in March 1995 on the Super Famicom. It follows a Music Special Live Stream earlier this month that involved an array of songs from the soundtrack.

The Chrono Trigger: One Mark Collection of personal marker character sprite charms will launch in Japan on March 27, 2026, and it's unknown if we'll see the merchandise worldwide. The game is available in various forms on the SNES, PlayStation, DS, PC, and mobile devices.

Hololive Vtuber Fuwawa Abyssgard Going on Hiatus

Fuwawa Abyssgard, one of the two twins that makes up the Hololive Vtuber pair Fuwamoco, announced she will go on hiatus for about a month starting at the end of March 2026. While she will be on break, her sister Mococo Abyssgard will stream as usual as a single performer. The duo explained this is due to a necessary surgery on stream and to ensure proper recovery time, and she didn't share an exact return date.

Fuwawa and Mococo's announcement started at about five minutes and 20 seconds into the stream on YouTube. Fuwawa said, "Fuwamoco has known for a while now, but actually I need to get surgery. So from the end of March, I'll be away for around a month." She also mentioned this is her first surgery ever, is a "major surgery," and it "absolutely needs to get done," but "isn't life-threatening." Fuwawa also said after it is done, the condition shouldn't be an issue. She will be in the hospital for a month after it is performed and, due to strict visitation rules, won't get to see Mococo that often. It was also emphasized that this doesn't have to do with Fuwawa's voice.

The duo did mention Mococo will stream on her own while Fuwawa undergoes surgery and the Hololive Vtuber is on hiatus recovering. They asked for viewers to be respectful at this time. As part of that, they requested that people don't ask how Fuwawa is during those streams.

Here's the full announcement:

Review: Bonnie Bear Saves Frogtime Oozes Charm

If a game can put you in a good headspace, that's great. I love that. If it can do so while also challenging me to think critically, even better. Bonnie Bear Saves Frogtime, the latest from Bonte Avond, stars charming characters, features incredible songs, challenges us with the Checkers-like Frogtime battles, and just makes whoever's playing it feel good. It's a lovely way to spend a few hours every day for a week, with the strategic element making it feel quite replayable.

Bonnie Bear had a rough year, so much so that she wasn't even going to celebrate her birthday, but her friends had other ideas. They surprise her with a cape and everyone getting Toad Bags so they can all play their favorite game, Frogtime, together. However, something else seems to be going on. A mysterious shell is also left as a gift by an unknown individual, quickly stolen by bully Rik Spek. (Who also eats her whole birthday cake.) While the group does eventually get the shell back, it leads to an even bigger predicament that leads to Ann being held captive inside of the artifact and puts the fate of Frogtime in jeopardy.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKFsNrKK3xQ

What really struck me about Bonnie Bear Saves Frogtime is the pacing and progression both in terms of the narrative and gameplay. The scope in both cases gradually grows and develops in such a way that we're prepared for ramifications. In the case of the story, it's seeing the way in which the journey develops and takes Bonnie to different places. We go from dealing with a bully to frogkind-saving implications. As for the Frogtime matches themselves, early challenges involve Rik Spek and his deck with a single legendary-tier frog to more competent folks like Botte. Likewise, we see the progression of Bonnie Bear's self worth both through experience after each battle and due to actions taken throughout the game. But it isn't just Bonnie, as we see that same sort of character development happen for supporting cast members.

While we can go around and talk to folks, playing Frogtime and beating increasingly more adept opponents drives the action in Bonnie Bear Saves Frogtime. I mentioned earlier it is like Checkers, in a way, but it's more generally a turn-based strategy game and deck builder. Our Toad Bag holds frogs Bonnie's collected, each with their own unique tendencies and damage-dealing levels. There is a 9x3 grid as the field, with the first and final rows being the starting points for Bonnie and her opponent. There must be six frogs in play at any time, with three from each participant, and you can only fit eight frogs in your Toad Bag at once. The goal is to get to the other player's endzone so it can deal damage, with the one knocked out first as the loser.

Though I find it easiest to compare Frogtime to Checkers, "jumping" opponents to make further progress and reaching the other side of the field are only part of it. The frog diversity really helps matches feel like a challenge. For example, some frogs' strong point isn't jumping! Like a Charger will deal two damage and, after moving twice and charging up, it will dash forward two additional spaces. A Hopper can be a great frog to play once after your initial three are placed, as its skills involve hopping over frogs, dealing a minimum of two damage, and potentially dealing up to five damage if it can perform double jumps. There are even special traits, like Riders, and one like a Dino Sir (frog riding a Brontosaurus-style dinosaur) will deal extra damage if it isn't the only "Rider" you sent out to fight.

Basically, there's a lot to think about! It's handled in a way that gets you thinking about synergy! If you spend a lot of time on it, you could end up spending way more time than necessary to build up a fantastic Toad Bag to tackle foes!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QGPMl0syXA

Perhaps not surprising from a Bonte Avond game, but Bonnie Bear Saves Frogtime features a phenomenal soundtrack. From silly little asides like, "Rik Spek (Look at My Six Pack)" to more serious ones like "Bonnie's Theme," it is fantastic. These are absolute earworms. Even though some got me choked up with some of the more poignant lyrics, they still made me feel great. Clearly, that's something we need more of nowadays.

Bonnie Bear Saves Frogtime features the same heart and humor as other Bonte Avond games. Even better, it pairs that with a strategy game that might seem simple, but gets more involved as you find frogs. It's incredibly charming, and Bonte Avond proves adept at making someone smile and tear up within the span of a few hours.

Cryo Archive Marathon new map

Marathon's first endgame experience is here. Two weeks after launch, Cryo Archive has unlocked and teams of three are gearing up and ready to lose it all.

Cryo Archive is a total secret up until this point in time. Narrative wise, this is a huge day for fans of the original franchise as players set foot on the UESC Marathon ship for the first time. But for fans of other Bungie games, it may feel familiar.

The stakes and presentation of Cryo Archive are giving big Destiny 2 raid vibes. Bungie is hosting a live stream for the event, and players everywhere are encouraged to stream their perspectives. It's unclear if there's one true "world first" winner of Cryo Archive, especially since it's not a one-to-one of a PvE raid like in Destiny.

But for now, Runners are building their loadouts and getting ready to risk it all to discover the secrets that lie within Cryo Archive. If you can't play the map on launch (like me) and are planning on following along, this is the place for you.

Marathon Cryo Archive world first race live updates

Cryo Archive map in Marathon

  • March 20, 10:20am CT: Good morning, Runners. There is so much we still do not know about Cryo Archive and the UESC Marathon ship in general. Today's the day we find out, for better or worse (for your vault inventory).

What is Cryo Archive in Marathon?

Image via Bungie

Cryo Archive is the fourth map in Marathon, and the first new location added after launch. It's described as a highly difficult endgame map, where players will be tested in ways they have not experienced yet.

"The UESC Marathon ship left Mars for the Tau Ceti solar system in 2472," Bungie teased of its lore. "It arrived 300 years later. Then… silence. Contact with the 30,000 colonists who set out to make a new home on an alien world was lost. Decades later, the Marathon ship still hangs abandoned in orbit, a frozen snapshot of the past promising valuable resources and information for anyone brave enough to make the trek and survive."

When it comes to difficulty, Bungie says expect to die, fail, and lose a lot of gear:

  • Intensity: Cranked to the top. Cryo Archive is a pinnacle challenge and will take many runs to learn and master.
  • Playstyle: Think raid-style puzzle solving and layered mechanics wrapped around brutal extraction stakes.
  • Design: A labyrinthian layout where tight corridors give way to massive open spaces, pitting enemy crews against each other to unseal frozen Vaults.

Marathon Cryo Archive requirements

To enter Cryo Archive, there are multiple requirements to be met:

  • Runner level 25.
  • All six Factions unlocked.
  • 5,000 minimum Loadout Value.
  • A full team of three players.

Cryo Archive Security Clearance

Cryo Archive Vaults
Image via Bungie

One of the mechanics players will need to master in Cryo Archive is called Security Clearance, "a progression you build up over the course of a single run by interacting with the ship's systems and surviving long enough to leverage them."

Different areas and places inside Cryo Archive are locked behind specific Security Clearance levels, "including doors, supply rooms, and exfils," and "the more important the system, the higher the clearance you'll need to use it."

Cryo Archive's 7 Vaults

Cryo Archive UESC fights
Image via Bungie

Cryo Archive contains seven different Vaults, which are "heavily-secured rooms have some of the most lucrative loot in the game, some of which you can't find anywhere else." Vault Keys have already been found on other maps in the game, but they can also be found within Cryo Archive, too.

"To access each Vault, you'll need to complete its unique entry challenge or access requirements," Bungie explained. "Each Vault also requires a specific Vault Key for entry. Once you're inside a Vault, you'll work through tense puzzle interactions and race against other crews who know exactly how valuable these rooms are."

How to watch Marathon Cryo Archive race

To find streamers playing Cryo Archive, visit the Marathon directory on Twitch. Top streamers like Aztecross, DrLupo, GernaderJake, and more will be live-streeaming their perspectives. Bungie is also hosting its own live stream on the official Marathon Twitch channel, featuring top ARG-solving gamers MrRoflWaffles and Skarrow9 live from Bungie HQ.

crimson desert screenshot

Crimson Desert is a single-player game alright, but you don't have to enjoy your adventures alone. While you can complete all the quests and content on your own, you can do so with your beloved pet. Obtaining your animal companion takes a bit of time when you begin your adventures, and there are two choices.

But first, let's find out how pets work in Crimson Desert.

How pets work in Crimson Desert

Crimson Desert has a trust system that works between your character and animals. The trust mechanic begins at zero and goes up to 100. This system is universal for all pettable animals, which are two in the current version of the game.

  • Cats
  • Dogs

A bulldog in Crimson Desert
Image via Pearly Abyss

The process of getting a pet varies slightly based on your choice.

  • If you want to pet a dog, walk up to the animal, and press the applicable button for the interaction prompt.
  • If you want to pet a cat, pick it up by getting close to it. Then, select the carry prompt to pet the creature.

When you pet a creature, you gain +5 trust. You can gain up to 25 trust with an animal companion in a single day from this method.

Pets are immensely helpful when they're active, as they help bring back the loot you get from defeated enemies. However, they will loot everything they can as there's no filter available in the current build of Crimson Desert. However, it's still beneficial to have them active; otherwise, you'll be spending a lot more time getting different loot.

How to add more pets in Crimson Desert

The key to gaining a pet is to take your trust to 100. Once that's achieved, hold the selection button and press the Claim option. This will register the dog/cat as your pet. You can have up to 30 pets for your adventure, but only one can be active at any given moment.

How to use food to gain trust in Crimson Desert

Buying Tender Meat in Crimson Desert
Image via Pearl Abyss

While playing with cats/dogs helps to gain trust, there's a daily cap on that. A better way is to use food items. Feeding also helps to improve your trust with them, but there's a daily cap as well.

  • Tough Meat (Feed to a Dog for 10 trust)
  • Fine Meat (Feed to a Dog for 35 trust)
  • Bird Meat (Feed to a Cat for 10 trust)
  • Fish (Feed to a Cat for 10 trust)
  • Milk (Feed to a Cat for 10 trust)

Food items have a cap of three per day. In simple words, you can feed a creature at most three times in a given day. If you max out the daily caps, you'll be able to gain a new pet every two days. The only exception to this is Fine Meat, which allows you to gain a new pet in a single day. However, you'll have to spend coins at a vendor to get the item.

Marvel Rivals White Fox ultimate

Marvel Rivals' new hero in season seven is a lesser known one when it comes to the massive pantheon of comic characters, but she's quite formidable.

White Fox is a Strategist and competent healer, but with her introduction, she joins an existing team of characters that many Marvel fans may not be familiar with. While most people know the Avengers and X-Men, not many know about Agents of Atlas.

One of the new White Fox achievements in Marvel Rivals tasks you with combining with other Agents of Atlas members. Here's what we know about the team.

How to partner with Agents of Atlas members for 10 KOs in Marvel Rivals

Marvel Rivals Ally Agents achievement
Screenshot by Destructoid

The "Ally Agents" achievement in Marvel Rivals is worth 10 Achievement Points, and requires as follows:

  • As White Fox, partner with Agents of Atlas members to land 10 KOs.

Currently, the only other members of Agents of Atlas in Marvel Rivals are Luna Snow and Iron Fist. To get this achievement, simply play as White Fox alongside Luna Snow or Iron Fist to combine for some kills. This achievement is quick to finish once you have the right teammates and know which heroes you have to combo with.

An easy way to do this is to play the 18-vs-18 Conquest mode, which is basically a massive team deathmatch. Play as White Fox and either have some friends, random teammates, or bots play as Luna Snow or Iron Fist, and you should unlock the achievement in no time.

To earn combo KOs, White Fox and Luna Snow/Iron Fist need to either assist each other on a KO by both damaging the same hero, or healing/damage-boosting another one.

Toph standing with the foundation in fortnite

There are friends and foes scattered all around the Fortnite island, many of which can be interacted with for help or to gain special items. The Foundation is one of the most important players this season, so you may want to know where to find him.

Like most NPCs, The Foundation sticks to one specific area, and it might be one you don't visit all that often. Some characters are out in plain sight, while others, like The Foundation, are hanging around fairly hidden spots. If you're struggling to track him down, here's how to find and defeat The Foundation in Fortnite.

The Foundation location in Fortnite

The Foundation map location in fortnite
Screenshot and remix by Destructoid

The Foundation can be found at the New Sanctuary POI near the bottom right corner of the map. He wanders around inside the large triangular building situated right in the center. Typically, he's not on the main floor you enter on, but the level just below that. He never goes down to the secret underground area that's home to the New Sanctuary Vault.

How to beat The Foundation in Fortnite

Before taking on The Foundation in battle, be sure you've got full health, full shields, and some solid weapons. He's not quite as difficult to face as the Ice King, but he's still a pretty imposing foe you won't want to take on without preparing.

Regardless of whether you're Team Foundation or Team Ice King, The Foundation will always initially be a friendly character. He starts off as one of the NPCs you can hire and will never attack you unless you strike at him first. As soon as you do start a fight, you lose the ability to hire him as an ally for that round.

When you are ready to face him, be prepared to dodge his attacks. He has a pretty devastating one where he picks up a rock and throws it at you. If it hits, you'll take quite a blow, so watch his movements carefully to avoid it. Shoot at him while he's charging it up, since he's quite vulnerable then. Otherwise, he just uses a gun to shoot at you. He fires pretty slowly and doesn't have great aim, so his shots aren't all that threatening.

Hire the foundation option in fortnite
Screenshot by Destructoid

All The Foundation boss loot in Fortnite

As of the time of writing, The Foundation doesn't drop anything when you defeat him. This may change as the season progresses, since the loot pool is set to expand as the community obtains Rivalry points and reaches certain goals. We'll update with any loot drop changes he gets in the future here, but for now, you're much better off hiring him as an ally who is willing to fight at your side rather than taking him on in battle, since there's absolutely no benefit for doing so.

If you're up for tackling some more tasks after meeting up with The Foundation, consider working on finding all Chaos Cubesgetting the Golden Exalted Ice King, using the Jam Track Player, and visiting Zero Point Shards for The Foundation.

Scritchy Scratchy might appear like a simple game where you just scratch different coupons, but there's some strategy involved if you wish to complete all the available achievements. Whether you're looking to get a completionist run or just unlock new items, the key is hidden behind the achievements.

While some of the achievements are relatively simple, there are a few tricky ones. Let's look at how you can easily complete all the available achievements without wasting any time.

How to complete all achievements in Scritchy Scratchy

The table below has complete information on how you can finish the achievements. You don't necessarily stick to the same order as mine, but the solutions are the same.

Achievement How to Complete
What are the Odds? You have to get a Super Jackpot. While you can do this with any ticket, you have to look for a blue star next to the name (of the ticket) in the catalog. Super Jackpots unlock after you get a normal jackpot.
Don't read the fine print You need to call an NPC on the phone to take a loan, which is offered when your balance is negative.
Lucky Ticket You just need to win a prize that's 1000x that of the ticket cost. Happens at random.
Big Win Similar to Lucky Ticket. You need to win a prize that's 10000x that of the ticket cost.
High Level Gambling You need to win a prize that's 100000x that of the ticket cost.
Why? Once you hit the jackpot, don't claim the ticket. Just throw the ticket in the bin (you'll forego all your rewards).
Lucky Cat First, buy Mundo from the shop, and then use her to scratch a Super Jackpot ticket.
Bad Kitty First, obtain a ticket that has a high chance of you losing money. Give the ticket to Mundo to scratch. If you hit negative, you complete the achievement.
Visit the Night Market Spend Black Market tickets on cosmetic from the tab in the left upper corner.
Walk-in-closet Use your Black Market tickets to buy every available cosmetic from the shop.
Clicker Minigame First, you need to complete this before you get Mundo. Put enough tickets in the Scratch bot so that it can scrap 100 or more tickets for you. Then, claim the tickets to get the achievement.
Wizard Use the magic ability to scrape at least one ticket.
Spend all the Worlds money You have to spend over 500 trillion money on something.
Bad Luck You have to get two plate cracks in a row. Get this done before you unlock the Soft Hands upgrade, as that reduces the chance of breaking plates.
Win Your Job Once you have unlocked the Fine Dining upgrade, you'll be able to get a jackpot on the plates.
Honst Work Get 2000$ with Cleaning Plates and don't pick up any Tickets.
Workaholic Don't pick up any tickets, and get 20 million from just cleaning plates.
Good Luck You can get this by just being lucky (get a jackpot on your first ticket). Alternatively, upgrade your Luck-Stat by skipping tickets before scratching one.
Soul Siphon You'll get the Maschine upgrade onwards from the fifth run, which allows you to craft souls. Souls provide you with extra lives, which convert to more chances while scratching duds.
Time Maschine Get the final upgrade on the Warp Maschine.
Idle Game Start a run after getting the following upgrades: Starter Kit, Air Condition, Fully Automated, and Time Traveler.
Nap Time You'll need the fan with the long battery, the Scratch Maschine, and the Automated buying device. Then, set up a ticket that gets you over 1 Sx as you stay idle for at least five minutes.
Winning Streak Completes automatically by just playing the game. You have to win a jackpot on all tickets from all catalogs.
One of Each Please Have all the different tickets from all catalogs on the table at once.
Skip a Catalogue First, unlock all skills on the skill tree. Clean dishes until you reach Catalogue 2, and keep playing normally. The aim is to skip the first Catalogue and not touch it at all.
Speedrun The key is to reach the ending withing 30 minutes after reaching the prestige. I am currently working this one out.
Faithful Servant When you open a Final Chance on the Golden Ticket, you'll get a phone call from a person who will ask you to wait. Just wait for as long as required until you get the achievement.
Max out Skill Tree Get all the available Prestige upgrades.
Achievement Hunter Get all the available achievements.

golden exalted ice king in fortnite

Fortnite's battle pass system received a major rework at the start of Chapter Seven, and these changes have carried over to season two. Now, certain skins are locked behind quest series, as is the case with the Golden Exalted Ice King Outfit.

The process for unlocking special bonus looks like the Golden Exalted Ice King is rather complex and locked behind a few prerequisites. It can be a tough process to navigate on your own, so here's how to get the Golden Exalted Ice King in Fortnite.

To unlock the Golden Exalted Ice King Outfit, you first need to get his two battle pass skins, unlock his quest series, and complete all the missions in it. It's quite a lengthy process to work through, so here's a full breakdown of how to get it done.

How to unlock Exalted Ice King quests in Fortnite

To unlock the Exalted Ice King quests, you need to collect all Ice King Outfits from the battle pass. There are two styles you must grab to get them, which are the base Exalted Ice King skin, granted right away upon unlocking the pass, and the Golden Cold Ice King skin, which is the final item on the second page.

To get both, you'll also need to buy all of his accessory items across the two Ice King pass pages, as the second look isn't available until you do. In total, there are 14 rewards you have to buy before the Exalted Ice King quests will be unlocked.

Once you've unlocked both Ice King styles from his two pages on the battle pass, you gain access to the Exalted Ice King quest series. This set of quests has six missions you need to complete to earn all the items that go with the Golden Exalted Ice King. The actual Golden Exalted Ice Kingskin is the final prize you get upon finishing all of them.

Quest Quantity How to complete
Eliminate players after reaching top 25 to assert your power. 5 Reach the top 25 players left alive near the end of any round and eliminate five players. You can get this task done all at once, or take out a couple of players each time you manage to survive this long.
Plant monitoring devices to eavesdrop on different factions around the island. 3 Place three monitoring devices around the island. One needs to be placed at Painted Palms, one at Dark Dominion, and one at New Sanctuary. At each spot, look for the diamond icon with an exclamation point to pinpoint the right location to interact with.
Collect Epic or better items to keep them from the unworthy. 5 Collect five Epic or better items. This includes purple Epic items, orange Legendary items, gold Mythic items, and turquoise Exotic items.
Damage opponents with the Ice King's Gauntlets or other Legendary weapons. 200 Deal 200 damage against enemies using the Ice King's Gauntlets or a Legendary weapon. The gauntlets aren't part of the active loot pool just yet, but will be unlocked eventually once Team Ice King has accumulated enough Rivalry points.
Check the monitoring reports at Dark Domain or Frigid Fortress. 1 Visit either Dark Domain or Frigid Fortress, depending on whether you're Team Foundation or Team Ice King, and review the monitoring report there. At whichever location the quest tells you to visit, look for a small computer marked by a white diamond exclamation point. Interact with it to get the report.
Defeat any Boss to send a message to the island's most powerful. 1 Defeat one boss on the island. This can be the Ice King, Dark Voyager Echo, Dread Punisher Squibbly, or The Foundation.
Hire or defeat The Foundation. 1 Track down The Foundation NPC location at New Sanctuary. Then, either pay 750 gold bars to hire him as a general Specialist, or shoot at him to start battling him. Completing either task completes this quest.

There are plenty of other rewards available to unlock throughout the battle pass. To earn them, you'll need to tackle as many quests as possible, so next, you might get to work finding all Chaos Cubesusing the Jam Track Playerlearning how to open the New Sanctuary Vault, and visiting Zero Point Shards for The Foundation.

The Fortnite island is home to many unique secrets in each season. One of these secrets is vaults, which are treasure troves typically featured in every season. For Chapter Seven, season two, there's one at New Sanctuary, so you may be wondering how to access it.

As the name implies, most vaults are locked and oftentimes tricky to access. The loot inside is always well worth the effort you have to put in, though, so here's how to open New Sanctuary Vault in Fortnite.

New Sanctuary Vault location in Fortnite

The secret vault at New Sanctuary is situated deep underground in the triangle building right at the center of this POI, which is located near the bottom right corner of the island map. You can find it by entering the triangle building and making your way down using the various ascenders situated around the area.

Can you open the vault door at New Sanctuary in Fortnite?

As of the time of writing, you cannot open up the vault door at New Sanctuary just yet. It's a bit misleading, as you can hear chests behind the door, and this vault was previously able to be opened during season one using a big red button next to the door. It looks and sounds like it should open, but unfortunately, it doesn't just yet.

Although you can't get inside so far, this vault will seemingly become unlocked as the season progresses. On the Showdown page, the final reward listed under Team Foundation's section is a Seven Compound Vault Key. This is the only vault at the New Sanctuary POI, and since you can already hear the loot behind the massive door, it makes sense that it has to eventually become unlockable.

The Seven Vault Compound Key is the final reward listed in the Act I section under the Showdown page. This means it'll take quite a lot of Rivalry points to get it, but it will unlock earlier on this season rather than super late into it. You can help get the key to unlock the vault faster by completing Rivalries as often as you can, as Rivalry points are the only currency that makes progress in this event.

Once the key for the vault has been unlocked, we'll likely be able to access it using a new console that will be added near the door or one of the existing ones overlooking it. It'll probably be at least a week or so before we reach this point, but as soon as we do, we'll update this guide with all the information you need to get your hands on the loot inside this vault.

While you wait for the New Sanctuary Vault to unlock, there's plenty to tackle elsewhere on the island. Some good missions to focus on include finding all Chaos Cubes, using the Jam Track Player, finding the Ice King, and uncovering all NPC locations.

Axiom Archive on an Abyss island in Crimson Desert.

The Abyss Without Balance quest in the first chapter of Crimson Desert requires you to combine/synthesize the Abyss Cell, and it can be slightly confusing when you first look at it. You'll first come across the Abyss in the Prologue itself, but you have to wait for a few more quests before you get to synthesize the cell.

Once you've reached the Abyss and navigated past the two elevator platforms, you'll find the first Abyss Nexus. Activate the Nexus, and you'll be able to use your Axiom Force to complete the synthesization process. To do so, first drop into the pit, and then complete the steps mentioned in the following section.

How to synthesize the Abyss Cell in Crimson Desert

The key objective is to move the floating Abyss Cell over the wall socket by using your Axiom Force. Then, use Force Palm to secure it.

  • First, approach the wall socket, and press the L1/LB/Ctrl button to "observe" the ghostly figure. This step acts as a tutorial for learning the Force Palm skill.

  • Use your Axiom Force to latch onto the floating Abyss Cell by using Axiom Force. To do so, press the LS/C button.
  • Move the Abyss Cell to the wall socket and place it in front of it. This has to be done while you're holding the Abyss Cell by using the Axiom Force.

  • Press B/Circle/E to release Axiom Force.
  • Walk up to the Abyss Cell, and hold the RS/Middle Mouse Button to charge up your Force Palm skill.
  • While the Force Palm skill is getting charged, click LS/C to change to Healing Force Palm.

  • Now release the RS/MMB button to release Healing Force Palm. This will synthesize the cell and complete the final step.

Once the cell is synthesized, you'll come across a large circular device on the wall above. Climb up the device and move towards its center. When you're at the center, unleash another Force Palm to reach the summit, which will allow you to complete the Abyss Without Balance quest.

Lady Windfrost holding a gun and listening to jam track with music bars above her head in fortnite

Most missions you're given in Fortnite ask you to tackle specific tasks associated with various locations, items, and characters around the island. Sometimes, though, you're instead given ones that involve more general game features, as is the case with the use the Jam Track Player mission.

This is one of the key Kickstart series quests featured in Chapter Seven, season two, but it's also a mission that might pop up in your dailies or other quest series every now and then. Because of this, it's a crucial one to learn, as it's quite easy to finish once you know what needs to be done, and super rewarding in XP. Here's how to use the Jam Track Player in Fortnite.

How do you use the Jam Track Player in Fortnite?

Screenshot by Destructoid

To complete the use the Jam Track Player Fortnite, you need to select and play one Jam Track, which can be done through the Emote menu. This process is a bit tricky to find the first time around, since it's somewhat hidden, so here's a full breakdown of how to make it happen.

  • Wait until you're on the main island. All quests can only be tackled once you're on the official main island, not the starting one, so don't try to get it done until you're at a safe spot around the main area.
  • Press and hold the emote button. It varies by platform, but you can check your settings if you don't know what you have this action bound to. By default, it's B on PC and D-Pad on console.
  • Scroll or select the Jam Tracks page. Look at the options near the top of the screen. You start off on the Emote page, so scroll to reach or select the Jam Tracks page.
  • Choose a Jam Track. Once you're on the Jam Track page, scroll through the songs listed there until you find one you want to play. All songs work for this quest, so pick whichever one you feel like.
  • Release the emote button. While hovering over your desired song, release the emote button to make it start playing. You'll then hear the song as you traverse around the island.

As soon as the song starts playing, you'll officially complete the use the Jam Track Player quest.

How to stop Jam Track Player in Fortnite

If you want to stop playing a song from the Jam Track Player, you can do so by pressing and holding the button listed next to the "Stop Jam Track" option in the bottom right corner. This will end the music, although you can always follow the same steps again to get another song playing.

There's still plenty more to get done around the island, so now that this quest is done, you can move on to them. If you're not sure what to work on next, consider venturing to all NPC locations, finding all Chaos Cubesdeciding whether to join Team Foundation or Team Ice King, and finding the Ice King.

Black widow standing with squibbly chef npc in fortnite

It can get lonely traversing the Fortnite island all by yourself, but luckily, there are many friendly individuals willing to join you in combat or lend a hand in the ongoing battle. Finding them can be tough, though, so you may want some assistance tracking down all NPCs.

Characters can help you turn the tide of battle, whether they choose to charge into a fight at your side, provide you with useful supplies, or help you make a quick escape. To ensure you're ready to call upon them as needed, here are all NPC locations in Fortnite Chapter Seven, season two.

All character locations in Fortnite Chapter 7, season 2

As of the start of the season on March 19, there are 14 NPCS hanging out around the Chapter Seven, season two map. The number of characters available always changes throughout the season, as existing NPCs may move around to different locations or leave, and new NPCs may arrive at any point. As these changes occur, we'll update them here, so you can always check back to ensure you know where each one can be found.

Some characters have the same services available every time you talk to them, but the vast majority have rotating options that change in each round. This means each time you chat with them, they'll have a different offer for you. These offers include a Rift To Go, Patch Up, maxing out your ammo, and filling your health or shields. They also sometimes offer dialogue related to the main storyline.

12 Squibbly Squibbly Shores Hanging out on an island near the west end of this POI. Can be hired as a Scout Specialist for 350 gold bars.
13 The Visitor Dark Dominion Wanders around the forest area above Dark Dominions and Squibbly Shores. Varies in each round.
14 Elite Jules Painted Palms Hangs out inside one of the movie set buildings near the west end of Painted Palms. Varies in each round.

While working your way around the island to meet all of these characters, you also might want to stop and tackle key missions along the way. Some important ones to focus on are finding all Chaos Cubes, deciding whether to join Team Foundation or Team Ice King, and finding the Ice King.
