House House were kind enough to keep a video of my hands-on session with Big Walk, filmed by one of the participating PRs. Generally, a full video of a preview event including player audio is a lifesaver for a journalist, struggling to keep notes while pushing buttons. But in this case, I don't want to watch the Big Walk video, because then I would hear what the other players were saying when I wasn't there.

You see, I fell down a cliff midway through Big Walk, and spent the night floundering about in the ocean. Eventually, a developer armed with a big, ball-shaped lamp tracked me down and ushered me back up, hoisting me onto his shoulders so that I could leap to a rock. Nights in Big Walk last moments. I was gone for the length of a luxurious toilet break. But still, those were moments in which the others were gathered, waiting for me. Perhaps they were making fun of me. I don't want to know.

Phwoar, look at that striking steeple on the horizon, I thought after arriving in Crimson Desert's first town.

I was playing a man I was fairly sure I couldn't give a toss about, embroiled in a conflict I also couldn't give a toss about, but that tower. Man, it took my breath away. Who could dwell within it? Who first built it? Can I climb it? Where did they get all of that stone? These questions buzzed around my belfry-addled brain. 'Hey, stay on track,' argued another bit of my grey matter, 'you've got a train to find'. 'Train can wait,' I replied, 'must take in the visual majesty of this faraway tower and maybe visit it to see if there's anything interesting to do there'.

One of my most useful tech purchases in recent times hasn't been anythng big or flashy, but a humble Ugreen SSD enclosure. It essentially takes any spare M.2 drive you might have laying around and turns it into a fast external SSD, with minimul fuss and for a lot less cash than just buying a whole new portable drive. I've done this with a 2TB Crucial P310 I had left over, and it's worked a treat for the last year. At Amazon, it's down to £16 in the UK and $16 in the USA. The latter is for Amazon's Spring Sale in the States, while the one in the UK is more of a cyclical discount, judging by the price history.

Then there's the psychic shock of having a game controller than costs more than, say, 40 quid to begin with – it's not something that immediately feels right.

The Wolverine V3 Pro itself, however, feels very right indeed. It's a solid and endlessly comfortable wireless pad, whose buttons are enriched with the pleasant mechanical clickiness of a high-end mouse. Cost-wise, it's also a lot less now than when I got mine: Amazon US has it at 35% off during their Spring sale, while in the UK, Scan has it down from £190 to £130. Still premium, but worth it, in my eyes. And hands.

Like many people at companies preoccupied with discovering the next "goose that lays the golden egg", Half-Life 2 and Portal writer Erik Wolpaw has been "poking around" with generative AI. He and a small team at Valve have been testing out different applications, in what Wolpaw assures us isn't a "concerted" effort at implementing the soul-regurgitating, workforce-abrading gadgetry in any particular new game.

Wolpaw's current feeling is that generative AI isn't very good at anything "creative", like cracking jokes. But he does think Large Language Models could make for entertaining NPC voice reactions in games such as Grand Theft Auto and, indeed, Wolpaw's own Left 4 Dead, because AI is marvellous at being a fawning little gopher. It is fantastic at "going along with whatever insane thing you say and kind of adjusting to the flow of that".

Shadowverse Service Ends in June 2026 After 10 Years

Cygames announced it will end service for the PC and mobile card game Shadowverse on June 30, 2026, just over 10 years after its June 17, 2016 Android and iOS debut. Sales of the paid Crystals currency and Leader Card in Three card pack bundles already ended, and Cygames noted everyone still playing will get the Premium Pass going forward. The company directed people who wish to continue playing to the PC and mobile sequel Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond and Shadowverse: Evolve physicalcard game.

We already had some idea that the end of service could be coming for Shadowverse eventually, as Cygames already announced it would start to wind things down in March 2024. At that point, it said the July 2024 release of the "Heroes of Shadowverse" cards would be the last set to launch, said the Battle Pass seasons would come every three months, and explained the types of Rotations and events people would see going forward. The final schedule covers the last Rotations we'll see leading up to the end and confirms when the final battle pass debuts. Basically, it'll be business as usual.

Here's what people can expect in the game between March 25, 2026 and June 30, 2026.

  • March 25, 2026: Crystal sales end.
  • March 31, 2026: Battle Pass Season 23 starts, with Premium Pass for it available for everyone. The Throwback Rotation card pool will reset.
  • April 30, 2026: Throwback Rotation card pool resets.
  • May 31, 2026: Throwback Rotation card pool resets.
  • June 30, 2026: Shadowverse service ends.

The follow-up Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond is relatively new. That launched on PCs and mobile devices in June 2025. It plays in an almost identical fashion, though the system allows you to collect and use Super Evolution Points to Super Evolve to boost attack, boost defense, get rush and knockback effects, and get temporary protection from damage and effects. This is in addition to the standard Evolution mechanic.

NIS' Horror Farming Sim Village in the Shade Debuts in 2026

Back during a Nintendo Direct in July 2025, NIS announced a horror farming sim called Honogurashi no Niwa, and now it confirmed the game will appear worldwide on multiple platforms under the name Village in the Shade. NIS America said it will debut in Fall 2026, months after its July 30, 2026 launch in Japan. In addition to Nintendo's Switch and Switch 2, it will be on the PS5 and PC too. The Steam page is even live and updated to reflect the reveal.

Village in the Shade features the same sort of artistic direction and atmosphere as the previous NIS America horror games in the Yomawari line, and the approach seems similar in the farming sim since night time is designed to be dangerous and it's set in a small, Japanese town. The company teased that it could be as scary or relaxing as someone would like. As a resident of Kagatsu, your goal is to maintain a farm and (ideally) follow the rules. That means staying in town, getting home before night falls, and being part of the community by taking part in festivals. However, if someone does venture outside of the village or stays up late, they'll encounter supernatural and scary elements.

Here's the first English trailer that shows what to expect from it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cc_F--CxTq0

Physical copies of the game will be available, and the NIS America online storefront already has a product listing live for a limited edition. It will come with an art book, a soundtrack CD, an acrulic block showing the village gates and town, five pins, and it looks like a sheet of stickers. That costs $89.99.

Here's the preliminary photo of that:

Village in the Shade will come to the Switch, Switch 2, PS5, and PC worldwide in Fall 2026, following a Japanese launch under the name Honogurashi no Niwa on July 30, 2026.

Silent Hill f Manga Will Run in Young Ace Up

Konami announced on social media that Kadokawa's Young Ace Up will run a manga adaptation of Silent Hill f. It didn't note when the series will start, and the official site for the Young Ace spin-off service doesn't feature a listing for it yet. It's also unknown if it will eventually be localized, though Yen Press localized some titles from it like So I'm a Spider, So What and The Summer Hikaru Died.

While we don't know when this new take on Silent Hill f will appear, we do know a few details about the manga. First, the initial teaser image for it is live. This lets us see how Hinako Shimizu will look in the series. (The artist behind this version is Gokin Ame.) Konami also confirmed Ryukishi07 will be involved with it. The creator will write a new ending that will be different from the five present in the game.

Here's the first piece of art showing Hinako in this retelling of the story.

Image via Konami and Kadokawa

As for the game, it's temporarily on sale on PCs. It is part of the Konami Games Spring Sale on Steam. That means it is temporarily 50% off, dropping the price to $34.99. That ends on March 26, 2026. After that, the price goes back up to $69.99. (The PS5 and Xbox Series X versions aren't on sale.)

Silent Hill f is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the manga adaptation is in development and will appear via Young Ace Up

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream Demo Launches

Nintendo announced it will be possible to try out Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream before buying it thanks to a demo known as the Welcome Version. It launched on the eShop. Initially, it was only available in Europe and Japan. However, it showed up a few hours later on the North American storefront as well.

The Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream demo is a slice taken from the beginning of the game. As such, it is possible to save and carry over your progress to the full title when it launches. However, that experience will be limited. While we will be able to have multiple characters living on an island at once when it launches, this Welcome Version only lets three folks move in.

There is also a promotional bonus for testing the title out. If someone "beats" the demo, they get a hamster costume to use in the full game. The Japanese announcement confirmed there will be six color options for that and shows how the styles look, and it noted that one of those six will be given out after finishing the trial out. As a reminder, the original Tomodachi Life also featured a similar costume that could be given to Miis for them to wear.

Here's how those will look when worn by characters:

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream will come to the Switch on April 16, 2026, and the demo is live worldwide now. It is also compatible with the Switch 2.

inazuma eleven sanrio header

Pre-orders for Inazuma Eleven and Sanrio crossover merchandise are now open via the Sanrio Anime Store in Japan. These are for advance sales, and if you put in your order before the end of March 30, 2026, you can receive a bonus acrylic card. It is unknown if Sanrio and Level-5 will eventually also sell these worldwide, but at the moment they seem exclusive to the country.

There are ten pair-ups for this collaboration, and it mostly features characters from the first three games prior to Go. The characters and mascots for which you can get merchandise‌ are:

  • Aphrodi x Cinnammoroll
  • Burn x Usahana
  • Endou x Hello Kitty
  • Fubuki x Little Twin Stars
  • Gazelle x Marumofubiyori
  • Gouenji x My Melody
  • Hiroto x Marroncream
  • Kazemaru x Cogimyun
  • Kidou x Tuxedosam
  • Midorikawa x Keroppi

As per usual, the characters and mascots are wearing the same outfit, as well as either exchanged or matching motifs. Some pair-ups seem based on lore. Kidou's close association with the Penguin series of hissatsu moves might be why he's with Tuxedosam, and Fubuki's likely with Little Twin Stars because of his own dead twin. Items in this collaboration are:

  • Acrylic cards: 690 JPY (6900 JPY for all ten)
  • Acrylic standee: 1100 JPY each
  • Aurora clear pouch: 1980 JPY
  • Clear case: 900 JPY
  • Flake stickers: 770 JPY
  • Keychains: 770 JPY (7700 JPY for all ten)
  • Multi-charm keychains: 1320 JPY each
  • Pins: 550 JPY (5500 JPY for all ten)

The Inazuma Eleven and Sanrio items are readily available for pre-order. They'll start shipping out on May 26, 2026. The latest game in the Inazuma Eleven franchise, Victory Road, is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Switch, Switch 2, and Windows PC.

Tokyu Resorts & Stays has announced that it will hold a physical event featuring Nintendo's Animal Crossing: New Horizons at its Tateshina resort. The event will run from mid-April to mid-July 2026.

There will also be a DIY workshop to create items from knotweed plants. The organizers will also hold nighttime events, such as a stargazing tour and constellation quizzes.

Even though the event takes place in a resort complex, people will also be able to participate without having to stay in a nearby hotel by purchasing a mission book that costs ¥800 (~$5). In addition, there will be the following exclusive merchandise available for purchase inside the complex:

Review: Super Mario Bros Wonder - Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park

Back when Super Mario Bros Wonder showed up on the Switch, it felt like a fresh take on the platformer that ensured players of all skill levels could enjoy it. Just under three years later, it's back. Except this time, the focus feels like it's on the multiplayer experience. Yes, there's new single-player stuff in Super Mario Bros Wonder - Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park, but this is primarily about facing off against others.

The storyline in Super Mario Bros Wonder remains unchanged. Mario and company showed up for the Flower Kingdom Ceremony to see Wonder Flowers. Bowser stole it and ended up powered up as a result. We explore alongside Prince Florian to set things right. The difference is that after getting into the story, we learned that Captain Toad and his Toad Brigade found the Bellabel Park ruins. Shortly after, the Koopalings stole the flowers from it, then went to hide out in various stages on the map to act as new boss fights with Wonder Effects.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVB3hZoOF0A

In the case of the Toad Brigade Training Camp stages and Koopaling stages, both feel like an attempt to add a little more challenge to Super Mario Bros Wonder - Switch 2 Edition for those who are used to the existing game. The Koopaling stages act as remixed Wonder Effect stages, as there will be new enemy elements as you head toward the confrontation to recover the Bellabel flowers. For example, the Wendy stage involves her rings teleporting Cheep Cheeps that head right toward you, before facing her at the end. Then when those fights do happen, they end up being a bit more extended than just "hitting the boss three times" to end it.

Meanwhile, the Toad Brigade Training Camp sort of feel like they're attempting to bridge the game between beginner players and more advanced ones. This is because you'll be placed in a situation and tasked with completing an objective. There are over 70 of these, and they feel designed to get you comfortable with attacking enemies, using certain power-ups, or handling situations. (This can be done in local multiplayer or alone.)

It's a stage in which the new Flower Transformation feels especially helpful. That's added for the Switch 2 release, and it turns the character into a flower that can spawn more flowers. You can unleash one with the action button, which immediately floats up toward the top of the screen and damages enemies along the way, or press the should trigger to send one out of each hand on both sides. If you hold the jump button, you also flutter a bit, then get a slight height boost. Honestly, I found it feels very situational. It's a big help in the aforementioned Wendy Koopaling stage, for example. The floaty jump can be handy too. But I didn't find it as revolutionary as the Elephant power-up.

While the extra challenge from the Toad Brigade and Koopaling courses feels like they're added for more experienced folks, there are other elements that seem geared toward newcomers again. For example, if you're playing locally, then Luma could be selected as a co-star. That feels like a roll a parent, guardian, or more experienced player would take to protect the person who selected another playable character to allow them to focus on platforming through the stage safely and not worry about collecting coins or attacking enemies. Likewise, being able to select two badges at once is an option and someone could select the Assist Mode when starting to ensure every character ends up feeling like Nabbit and the Yoshis and doesn't take damage or die if they fall into a pit.

But as I said earlier, the Meetup in Bellabel Park part of Super Mario Bros Wonder multiplayer segment feels like the biggest addition in the Switch 2 release, and if you can't take advantage of that it might not feel as exciting. Because sure, now we can see the "ghosts" of up to 12 other players online in a main campaign stage, with them leaving standees to assist o share power-ups, but it isn't the same sort of true online multiplayer experience.

The Local Multiplayer Plaza portion is the most diverse option in Super Mario Bros Wonder - Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park. This is due to a number of elements. First is that there are both competitive and cooperative stages there. The former can involve elements like races to get through stages with obstacles or maze-like elements first, hide-and-seek paired with tag elements, coin-collecting frenzies, or trying to feed baby Yoshis more fruit than anyone else. The latter might add features like using Mouse Mode with a Joy-Con 2 to draw block paths to help someone with a more traditional playstyle get through a stage or trying to all safely take turns carrying a bomb to the goal. On the online side, we have a number of stages that are competitive and tend to rely on racing through courses with certain power-ups or conditions at play. Both have a Tour Plaza option that involves everyone going through three or five random stages from different categories to see who gets the most points on the leaderboard for their performances.

I still feel Super Mario Bros Wonder - Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park is a 9 out of 10 game, but the upgrade is really geared toward the multiplayer experience. Especially if you have folks who can play with you locally for the new Luma co-star, Toad Brigade Training Camp, or Bellabel Park stages that highlight co-op and versus elements. If you don't have that kind of community around you, then I think the base version of the game would meet your needs.

Super Mario Bros Wonder - Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park will come to the Switch 2 on March 26, 2026, and the original game is on the Switch worldwide.

The Beacon fusion rifle, shown in promotional art for Destiny 2's Guardian Games 2026.

Fusion Rifles may not be among the most exciting guns in Destiny 2's arsenal, but a god-rolled The Beacon might just find its way to your vault.

This Guardian Games weapon is the first non-raid Solar fusion rifle under the tier system, so those using fiery builds can get a little more choice in that slot. The Beacon does have access to a subclass verb, but our god roll opts for something with more damage. At least it matches the Surge mod on whatever Solar heavy you may be using.

There's not much need to chase less-used perks: The Beacon's god roll boasts the best-in-slot options for fusion rifles.

The first column has three heavy hitters: Envious Arsenal, Overflow, and Rewind Rounds. Any of the three is welcome, and each has differences that change slightly what you'd like to use them for—though we lean strongly toward one of them.

Our pick for a god roll, by far, is Envious Arsenal. This perk reloads your gun by dealing damage with all three of your weapons, which is a condition for a certain ubiquitous damage-boosting perk. That said, the other two have room to shine.

Overflow triggers when picking up ammo, so it's a bit spotty to count on it for longer damage phases, but it's excellent for a general-use gun to fit into Grandmaster Nightfall Alerts or moments when you can't set up Envious Arsenal. Rewind Rounds triggers after emptying the magazine, so it's effortless.

You have some other options here for specific setups, like Demolitionist and Collective Pugilism if your build could use some extra ability regen or Lead From Gold for some more utility, though we'd stick with any of the top three choices.

For the fourth column, Bait and Switch is the strongest damage perk at The Beacon's disposal, and that's why it has carved the top spot in our god roll. It activates by dealing damage with all your weapons during a small time window, which is the same trigger as Envious Arsenal.

If you'd rather not set up Bait and Switch, however, Controlled Burst and Reservoir Burst are both top-tier choices for fusion rifles, with less setup involved. The former bumps your damage if you land all the pellets in a burst, while with the latter, the top shot of your magazine has bonus damage and explodes on impact. With Overflow, every shot above your base mag size gets the bonus from Reservoir Burst, creating a powerful combination if you'd like some added clear and damage.

Outside of that, you have Burning Ambition, which could be alright if you have a way to apply Scorch to consistently get ignitions, and Successful Warm-Up if you're focused on add-clear. It's hard to find a setting for them to be better than the other picks, though.

The Beacon can drop when turning in Medallions, ranking at the Tower, and completing Guardian Games activities like Rushdown and Supremacy. Some Portal activities only offer you extra event engrams if you tackle them on the highest difficulty, however.

The Triple Laureate Spread Shot hand cannon in Destiny 2

The biggest prize in this year's Guardian Games might just be a god-rolled Triple Laureate. This new Stasis Spread Shot hand cannon ties the chill of Stasis with the punch of a shotgun, making for a unique option for your Kinetic slot.

If you don't play Trials of Osiris, this is also your first chance to grab a pocket shotgun for your Kinetic slot, and there's some good options here if you're looking for something more subclass-neutral.

Here are our PvE god rolls for Triple Laureate in Destiny 2's Guardian Games 2026.

Triple Laureate PvE god rolls in Destiny 2

It definitely gets bonus points for style. Screenshot by Destructoid

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake, Fluted Barrel, or Corkscrew Rifling
  • Mag: High-Caliber Rounds, Alloy Mag, or Flared Magwell
  • First perk: Crystaline Corpsebloom, Slideshot, or Subsistence
  • Second perk: One-Two Punch, Chaos Reshaped, or Trench Barrel

There are two main reasons to use a Spread-Shot hand cannon: you're using a melee-focused build and want to buff your abilities or you're looking for a strong close-range option. Luckily, Triple Laureate has the tools to tackle each scenario.

Crystalline Corpsebloom is the main draw on the first column and by far its most unique contender. This perk creates Stasis crystals with rapid final blows, giving you a way to shatter groups of mobs. As a bonus for Stasis builds, it has synergy with Whisper of Rending (since it's a primary) and Whisper of Fissures. This is the top pick in our god roll by far, and the flavor is a huge part of it.

Triple Laureate also has two important backups in this column: Slideshot and Subsistence, which reduce the time you spend reloading and let you keep your magazine topped up. The former triggers when you slide, while the latter triggers on a kill with it. It's good to keep them in your back pockets, but we'd run with the other choice.

At least the Portal doesn't look too terrible. Screenshot by Destructoid

The second column is where you can sharpen your Triple Laureate with the help of damage perks. One-Two Punch is the must for brawler builds: it boosts the damage of your next melee attack when you land all pellets on an enemy, adding firepower to the strongest part of your kit. This would be our choice by far, especially on spammy builds like Solar Titans and non-Void Hunters.

Another new offering is Chaos Reshaped, once exclusive to the Salvation's Edge raid and now an occasional fixture in event weapons. This coveted perk bumps your weapon damage and gives you a self-heal every few seconds, which also make it an excellent choice for survivability at close range.

Trench Barrel is the mirror to One-Two Punch, improving your weapon damage after landing a melee hit. This is fine if you'd like to boost the damage on a weapon, particularly one that's not a primary. The true power of your guardian usually comes from abilities, however, especially in the post-Edge of Fate sandbox, so you get more value out of buffing your melee.

Master of Arms and Pugilist don't rank as high for us—not because they're bad, naturally, but because the top picks in this column make them redundant. If you're running a full-fledged melee build, you'll get more damage from One-Two Punch and you won't need Pugilist's extra energy generation with a high melee stat and the appropriate mods.

Triple Laureate can drop from completing Guardian Games activities and banking medallions. Completing both versions of Rushdown in the highest difficulty grants you more drops. You can also grab a guaranteed Holofoil copy of Triple Laureate, plus The Beacon and Keraunios, by going through the Guardian Games 2026 event track.

Max and Chloe in Life is Strange Reunion

Life is Strange Reunion will be available soon on PC and consoles, and this guide will help you keep track of when the game goes live. The upcoming saga, developed by Deck Nine Games, will have a new chapter featuring Max and Chloe.

But first, let's look at when the game becomes available globally across all platforms.

Life is Strange Reunion release countdown

Life is Strange Reunion goes live globally on Thursday, March 26. The following countdown will expire once the game goes live.

The countdown is based on the following timings.

  • 8am PT
  • 10am CT
  • 11am ET
  • 4pm UTC
  • 5pm CET

The timings here are based on the information available on SteamDB. The timings above are also applicable to the console version of the game. Since there's no regional launch schedule, you can't use the New Zealand trick to get a few extra hours of gameplay.

What to expect from Life is Strange Reunion

Life is Strange Reunion continues Max and Chloe's adventures along a new saga, as the latter has arrived at Caldeon University. As her memories haunt her, she will have to take help from Max. However, Max has her own problem to sort out as there's a campus to save.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrxm00_0jPE

While Max can bend time with her Rewind ability, she's not enough to stop the full force of the upcoming blaze. Hence, it's up to you to get along with Chloe and Max to decide the fate of Caldeon. The Rewind ability allows you to undo and redo every move. You'll need to use your powers strategically.

Nobody is safe from the incoming blaze, and it's on you to identify the culprits before your friends meet their end in the fire. With plenty of secrets to unlock and an exclusive track to enjoy, Life is Strange Reunion could shape up to be the perfect ending saga.

paradox release date countdown and early access info

After a long development hiatus, the famed Roblox Bleach RPG Paradox is finally coming back. The first time it came out I played it pretty much the entire day and even though it was brief, the game had a lot of potential. With the Paradox release date confirmed and the countdown below, let's see what the Paradox dev team have been cooking up.

Roblox Paradox Release Countdown

[hurrytimer id="1196382"]

The developer team members Aidenn and Super have confirmed the Paradox release date to be April 10th. As you are reading this, the devs are working on the Early Access and a ton of bug-fixes before they officially re-release the game to the public. Paradox will be free-to-play and available across all major platforms like PC, Mobile, Xbox and PlayStation.

You can find all the details you need on the official Paradox Discord. This is the best place to stay up-to-date on the game just by following the Announcements channel. The best part is you can get Early Access to the game right now before Release.

Paradox Early Access Info

paradox early access information and details

You can sign up for the Paradox Early Access right now via their Discord (Linked above). There are two versions of the event with the regular EA allowing you to access the game before release. The EA+ is similar but it'll also get you an in-game exclusive title and more perks on release. Here are the requirements:

  • Base Early Access Requirements

    • Invite 10 Players (To their official Discord)
    • Or, make a post about the game that hits 5000 views

      • The post must include discord.gg/ableachgame in the video

  • Early Access Plus

    • Invite 20 Players
    • Or, make a post about the game that hits 10.000 views (link included)

Important: You must use your own generated Discord invite link for the invite to count by clicking on the server name in the top left and then "Invite to Server". Use /invites via Invite Tracker in Bot Commands to check your invite progress and DM a staff member with proof to get ranked.

That's it for my guide on how to join Paradox Early Access and the release countdown. Let us know about your experience in Paradox and what builds you're excited to try on release. Until then, check out our Paradox Codes which we'll update with free rewards as soon as the game releases.

mashle academy magics tier list

Updated on March 25, 2026: Added Magic tier list in addition to the showcases.

Unlike other Roblox RPGs, the overall power and viability of the main movesets or Magics in Mashle Academy aren't dependent on rarity. All Magics can be good based on your playstyle and some of the better Magics like Waters is a simple Common rarity. Here's my Mashle Academy Magic tier list and full showcase of all moves.

Mashle Academy Magics Tier List

mashle academy magic tier list and guide

There's no best Magic in Mashle Academy like in other Roblox RPGs. It's more of a Type Soul situation where even the Commons can be quite powerful if played right or with specific combos. So instead of S-Tier being the best options and C-Tier being the worst options, this tier list assumes all Magics are powerful but measures how many factors each Magic needs to reach its potential. S-Tier Magics require little to no factors while each lower tier requires more and more factors to be powerful. Factors include specific skill and weapon combos, specific builds, player combo knowledge, enemy positioning/skill, early vs late game, teamfight vs duel, etc.

PVP vs PVE: I tried to account for both PVP and PVE in this tier list. If it was strictly a PVP tier list Timez would be higher, if it was strictly a PVE tier list Partisans and Fire would be one tier higher, etc.

Tip: Combo this tier list with our Clan & Race Tier List.

S-Tier Magics

S-Tier Magics Ranking Breakdown

Darkness
Legendary
• One of the best Magics in the game due to a lot of options and powerful base moves
• Z is highly flexible since you can both set it up to use during combos or just fire them for pressure
• I like to set them up, start a two-hit M1 combo, parry bait, then when the parry ends fire them with Z
• The X's damage can be parried but it still pulls them in as a combo starter into Dragon Rise and other skills
• The C is a massive burst, especially with Trait crits, that has hyperarmor, a weird parry timing and you can move during it to go behind them
• Even the Secondths M1s deal massive damage with the reaper echoes

Ice
Rare
• Ice is similar to Charm where it has really strong synergy with itself
• Basically your Z and Secondths M1s apply Frost that make your Z and X stronger
• Combine this with an Ice Weapon like the Twin Drake fists where the crit applies frost
• Then alternate between empowered Z and X for excellent sustained DPS in PVE and PVP
• Plus you have a safety move for healing with C that also works on allies which is great utility but can be punished with timing
• Overall a very competitive synergistic Magic if you combine it with an Ice Weapon

Sands
Rare
• Sands is IMO a better version of Roks in terms of defense because you get better utility
• X completely negates any big attack in the game and is shared with allies in a teamfight both in PVP and PVE
• On top of that you get a nice combo starter with Z and C is great chasedown that you can easily bait out parries with by moving back/sides before grabbing them
• Broom Strike also works with the Secondths third attack knockup for combo extension and the hook blinds like Scorched Gauntlets
• Overall a very strong mix of offense and defense

Muscles
Legendary
• Amazing PVP moveset due to a lot of combo extenders
• If you can land a C it true combos into Dragon Rise
• X and Z are great combo enders
• The Secondths M1s are great combo starters because they don't have a combo end so you can keep punching
• You can even evade parries by just turning your camera around to miss a punch then back to the opponent and then combo into X or C
• Really strong in PVP if you know how to combo even with the HP drain on Secondths M1s but it's negligible

Waters
Common
• Water is one of the best Common Magics and it used to be stronger before the change but it's still oppressive
• This is because Z is a great combo starter into X (Dodge disable) and C (high burst)
• Plus you get a ton of Stamina drain with most moves which is really strong since you're actively taking away your enemy's moves
• Comboing base moves and M1-ing during Secondths takes away so much Stamina
• Just make sure to combo into C since it can be easily dodged or jumped over if you spam it

A-Tier Magics

A-Tier Magics Ranking Breakdown

Timez
Legendary
• Timez is very build specific because by itself it's not that powerful but it's amazing utility with other moves
• For example you can use Z to revert enemies into a Magic Trap
• C is great for setting up strong burst moves like Dragon Rise or combo Heian active with Demon active slash for high damage
• You also have some defense with he dodge counters and the Secondths reduces your cooldowns while increasing the enemy's
• Overall a nice utility package to add onto your build

Graviole
Rare
• Graviole is bad early but powerful late-game when maxed out on a pure Magic build dealing a ton of damage
• You also have excellent combo starters with Z, X into Broom Strike or just landing a C for a pull into a combo
• The Secondths mode allows you to kite back and keep firing at great range but it doesn't synergize too much with the base moves
• Overall, a ton of damage potential here on a full Magic build if you learn the combos

Charm
Common
• An incredibly strong combo option since Z is an excellent combo starter into both Charm moves but also Dragon Rise and other skills
• The combo starters continue with the X mark that allows C to stun them again for another combo starter/extender
• X also gives you like a single-target Roks C damage reduction that makes you really tanky against that single target
• Finally the Secondths weapon just applies X on-hit for more damage reduction and more opportunities for C's stun
• I'd usually use a C to pop the mark after a missed parry by my opponent
• Overall an incredibly strong PVP Magic with a ton of in-built synergy but you need other skills for damage to benefit from combos

Tornegus
Common
• Tornegus is one of the skill-based Magics requiring good knowledge on combos to be good
• Use Z as a combo starter then turn around since the tornado drags enemies toward your camera then turning back for combos once they're close
• Like M1 with Secondths rapier for heavy after cut/Bleed damage
• Or you can tornado, turn around, then once they're close turn back around for a Broom Strike which is a great combo
• X and C are amazing PVP (Catching escapes) and PVE (traversal) mobility but C can be easily PB by players who've learned its timing

Partisans
Legendary
• Not good early since the number of partisans spawned scales with Magic Mastery
• That said in late-game it's pretty good for pressure
• Both Z and C just keep raining down partisans that your opponent can block/parry but they just keep going
• This means you can go in for combos with other skills and it's going to be very difficult for your opponent to parry everything
• Overall pretty good for PVP late-game but I prefer it for PVE

Lightning
Rare
• Lightning is similar to Fire where the moves are easy to deal with by themselves but become much better when used in mix-ups with other skills
• Unlike Fire, Lightning is better for PVP because the Z's mini-stun attack block Evasives meaning you can combo off of them really well (E.g. Dragon Rise)
• Most of the moves including Secondths M1s block Evasives for a really oppressive an aggressive combo option
• Combos great with Fists for combo potential or Wands for a bit more range
• Learn the C Counter timing and you have yourself a strong PVP build

B-Tier Magics

B-Tier Magics Ranking Breakdown

Roks
Common
• Roks (Scales with Muscles) is a great defensive option due to C but it's only offensively viable if you combo it with other tools
• For example it goes well with Shield's Bulwark Stampede to crash enemies into the X wall
• You can curve X to the sides by turning your camera to catch dodging enemies or position it better for Shield
• Roks also has one of the best Secondths since the mace deals a ton of damage, is fast and the final hit is unparriable
• Overall an underrated option that can be good as long as you combo it with something else

Sounds
Rare
• It's more of a teamfight Magic because Z tethers in an AOE and C is a team mobility buff
• You can still apply great pressure in 1v1s with the Z tether and X stun to start a combo
• Yes, the enemy can dash away, M1 to proc the X stun, and then parry it but it's still awkward and puts pressure on them
• Plus your guitar M1s from Secondths combo into Broom Strike and other moves for great mix-ups
• That said, C makes your 1v1 game weaker since it's more for teamfights so Sounds is less optimal for duels IMO

C-Tier Magics

C-Tier Magics Ranking Breakdown

Spaces
Legendary
• Very playstyle-specific Magic that forces you to play around the Z Planets detonation damage
• Both X and C drag the Planets toward you or toward your opponent
• That said you can also detonate them for damage by walking into them like with a 2-hit combo that forces a parry bait then walk into a planet
• Overall it's a pretty decent Magic but one where the reliability of your DPS depends on your opponent's positioning and skill

Fire
Common
• Easy to use, decent damage and very beginner-friendly but has a lower power potential
• The moves by themselves are only good if you can mix them up with other moves
• The highlights here are the burn damage and the hyperarmor C even though it can be PB
• And lastly, the burn, range and dual scaling on the Secondths is pretty good but then again that's the case for most Magics
• Overall, Fire is a great start to learn the combat system but there are more advanced Magics

Mashle Academy Magics FAQ

What are Magics in Mashle Academy?

Magics are your base movesets consisting of three moves that will be complemented by other moves from your Race, Clan, Gear, Skills, etc. They are divided into Common (89%), Rare (10%) and Legendary (1%) rarities but these rarities don't necessarily determine how powerful they are in PVP since even Common Magics can be quite strong if you play them right.

What is the best Magic in Mashle Academy?

All Magics are generally viable, especially when you max out their Magic Mastery, but some that stand out in PVP are Water for its Stamina Drain and Darkness for its overwhelming pressure. That said, the power of each Magic largely depends on how well you play it as well as what builds you combine it with. For example, a Timez Magic+Demon Race+Heian Clan combo can be OP for burst damage and a Muscles Magic+Burnedead Clan build can be extremely oppressive in PVP.

What is Magic Mastery in Mashle Academy?

Magic Mastery is used to unlock your Magic skills and increase their power. Magic Mastery increases the Potency of Magic Power stat for Magic scaling abilities and their effectiveness like longer status effects, stronger output, etc. Check out each Magic's respective page to view its usage since Magics that seem weak at first become drastically better with increased Mastery.

What are Magic Canes?

Magic Canes is a pseudo title and a set of bonuses given to the Top 10 players of their respective Magics. Each Magic has their own leaderboard where the top 10 players become Magic Canes. If you do, you get bonuses like a special pet, a shining Username on player lists, +50 Magic Mastery hard cap, a special transformation and so on.

That's it for my All Mashle Academy Magic showcase list. Check out our Mashle Academy codes for free goodies.
