Total Chaos, the horror FPS born from a Doom 2 mod, gets a release date

Sometimes, a mod is so great and so popular, it becomes its own beast entirely. PUBG and DayZ spawned from the versatile world of Arma. The Forgotten City was birthed from Skyrim. And Total Chaos is a bleak and brutal horror FPS that is basically an Unreal Engine 5 remake of an epic Doom 2 mod. Developed by a team that includes the original creator of that mod, Total Chaos offers up Silent Hill-style scares and some Stalker-esque survival mechanics, and as well as dropping a brand new demo for Steam Next Fest, its release date has also been locked in for later this year.

League of Legends Mythic shop February 2025 - what's on sale now?

What's on sale in the League of Legends Mythic shop? New skins for LoL are released all the time, with a new event arriving on the Rift every few weeks, but what happens if you missed the boat with that awesome K/DA Evelynn skin, or if you've seen a Hextech skin in a game of Summoner's Rift and want to bag it for yourself?

The Mythic shop is a special storefront in the free PC game that stocks rare skins, wards, chromas, and Nexes finishers. These cosmetic items aren't available for real-world money, as they can only be purchased with Mythic Essence, so no more worrying about how much you've spent in League of Legends. The stock held in this store is rotated regularly, with some skins becoming unavailable for months, so it's best to keep up to date on what's on sale in the League of Legends Mythic store.

StarCraft spiritual successor Stormgate adds its most highly requested feature

With former Blizzard developers involved in the StarCraft, Warcraft, and Diablo series on its team, Frost Giant Studios certainly has a solid pedigree. But its new RTS game Stormgate landed last year to a decidedly mixed reception. Players felt it had arrived too soon, with criticisms of a lack of visual polish and low production values on its campaign cutscenes. Since then, however, the team has been hard at work on improvements, and a new Stormgate update out today looks to make some serious changes, including a visual overhaul and the game's most-requested quality-of-life feature.

Razer just revealed a huge range of Minecraft gear, and I need it all

Razer just revealed its official line of Minecraft gear, and it's honestly a brilliantly designed collaboration. The iconic Minecraft colors suit Razer's gear like a match made in heaven, and the gaming headset, keyboard, mouse, and mouse pad included in the set are all meticulously designed using the iconic Minecraft Creeper and grass block imagery.

Razer also collaborated with Fortnite last year, and I had a chance to take a look at this gear up close and was a huge fan. On first look, however, this new deal with Minecraft eclipses its previous efforts. These collaborations don't typically use the best gaming keyboard, mouse, or headset, but the products selected here are ideal for gamers young and old.

This House Flipper and Friends Humble Bundle is great for cozy Steam Deck gamers

A brilliant new Humble Bundle has arrived with a focus on simulation games, and it's ideal for Steam Deck owners in need of some fun new experiences that aren't too mentally taxing to play. Called the House Flipper and Friends bundle, this set of seven games also includes a ton of DLC, and it'll only set you back $15.

These games all run great on the best handheld gaming PC, although in one case, the built-in controller is supported but the game doesn't display controller inputs. There are some genuinely great Steam Deck experiences in this bundle though, including one of my favorite simulation games of the past 10 years.

If you're hungry for a new Silent Hill game, you should play Post Trauma now

Brookhaven Hospital gets all the credit, but for me, one of the scariest locations in Team Silent's peerless original series is the train station in Silent Hill 3. Deserted, quiet, but haunted by something invisible and malevolent, it's the physicalization of everything that makes survival horror work - you feel vulnerable, but thanks to the fixed camera, you have no idea what's lurking nearby. Seemingly inspired by that eerie location, Post Trauma also takes cues from old-school Resident Evil, Dead Space, and maybe some other erstwhile hits like Forbidden Siren and Parasite Eve. The first bit of good news is that you can try it right now. The second bit is that the release date is now confirmed.

League of Legends pulls major Hextech Chest u-turn after community outrage

It's safe to say that League of Legends has had a rough start to the year. While the community for Riot's MOBA is often forthcoming with concerns and complaints, players' dissatisfaction levels are nearing new highs. The reasons? Well, there are a fair few, but the main one is LoL's gradual move towards more expensive or gacha-style cosmetics while removing or changing popular progression and reward systems - namely, Hextech Chests. These were booted out of LoL at the start of 2025, but with community sentiment souring, Riot has done a u-turn. Hextech Chests are returning next week as part of the Act 2 update, and to further make peace with players, the unlock costs for new champions will be halved.

Minecraft snapshots - testing new features in snapshot 25w09a

How do you test the latest Minecraft features? These snapshots are the very first iteration of Minecraft updates and are a way for Mojang to test out bug fixes, technical changes, and even new blocks, biomes, and mobs before officially rolling them out. Anyone with the Java edition of the creative game can try these features without any risk to your current world, while Minecraft Preview exists for those on Bedrock edition, so read on to find out how to be the first to try the next big Minecraft update.

During Minecraft Live, the next big Minecraft update or drop is revealed to the community. At past events, we've had the likes of the Caves and Cliffs update, The Wild Update, and the Trails and Tales update - each of them overhauling the base game with new Minecraft biomes, blocks, and mobs. Since these updates come with so much new content, they need to be tested out first, and that's where Minecraft snapshots and Minecraft Preview come in. Use them to test out new experimental features before anyone else, and feedback to Mojang if you have any issues. It's a win-win situation.

Pokemon Day 2025 Dragonite

Ahead of Pokemon Day 2025, The Pokemon Company has uploaded an animated video starring Dragonite to it's official YouTube channel. A total of fourteen minutes long, it revolves around the journey of a Dragonite and it's trainer, as they deliver mail across the various continents of the Pokemon world.

You can watch the Pokemon Day 2025 Dragonite animated video below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHgcVr_CRQs

Titled "Dragonite and the Mail Carrier," the short follows Hana and her Dragonite as they deliver mail across the world. Hana, with her own ambitions of becoming an ace mail deliverer, reflects on why she's chosen this path. Dragonnite mail carriers have more or less been a staple in the series. Not so much that players can interact with them, but that they have appeared even in the earliest days of the animated series.

The Pokemon Company announced it will share the latest updates about the Pokemon series on Pokemon Day 2025, which lands on February 27, 2025. While exact details haven't been shared, in the past this has included information on games and merchandise. Co-streaming of this showcase will also be permitted.

pokemon center life-sized gardevoir doll

February 27 is an inconspicuous day unless you're a Pokémon fan. The penultimate day of the month is also known as Pokémon Day; the one day a year when Pokémon drops all of its biggest announcements including new films, merch, and games for the franchise. Gaming may be full of rabid fandoms, and Pokémon fans have long been fighting to be the greatest of them all. February 27 is the day that the Pokémon mass hysteria reaches its peak.

Certain things are expected to appear at every single Pokémon Day Presents. The show always kicks off with seasonal updates to Pokémon's vast live-service kingdom, which even includes in-game events for the mainline games. However, no one is watching Pokémon Presents to find out the next raid target, the next café worker, or what the next trading card set is. People watch for the game reveals. Fans don't care whether Game Freak are working on a remake, a spin-off or a new mainline entry; they just want more.

Image via The Pokémon Company

I am not immune to quixotic dreams of the developers at Game Freak working hard on Let's Go Johto!, New New Snap, and Colosseum/XD remakes. I am also very aware that these games will likely remain a figment of my imagination. When it comes to Pokémon Day I like to set my sights a little lower, and I think this year I have surfed the line perfectly between hopes and reality.

My realistic dream for Pokémon Day 2025 isn't for a remake, a reboot, or a new game in one of Pokémon's many series. I'm not even asking Game Freak to make the older mainline games available again despite prices rising to the hundreds on the second-hand market. I don't even want the opportunity to destroy another touch screen running circles around Entei in Ranger. All I want is my favorite Game Boy Advance game to come to Switch Online.

It has been 23 years since the last Pinball game, and I would not be so bold as to ask for the short-lived series to make a comeback, but if Puzzle League can be given a second life through Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack then so can Pokémon Pinball: Ruby and Sapphire. If you only played the first entry in the series you'd be forgiven for thinking that Pokémon and Pinball mix like oil and water, but with the sequel the formula had been perfected.

New Pokemon Presents Goes Over Games and Updates Next Week
Image via The Pokemon Company International

Not only does the game look gorgeous, but the physics and gameplay are much improved. Based on the third generation, you can hatch, catch, and evolve 'mons as your ball flies around the board. You try desperately to catch legendary beasts that appear in rare spawns and remain on the board for 30 seconds. It has your heart pounding in a way the mainline games can't. If you fail a catch in Pinball, you can't just reset and try again.

Many people missed out on Pokémon Pinball: Ruby and Sapphire due to how lackluster and unwieldy the original pinball game was, and yet it's still remembered as a cult classic of the franchise. We know that TPCi is willing to dredge up some of its unique spin-offs so they can be slapped onto Switch Online; that's exactly how the glorious Pokémon Puzzle League and Trading Card Game for Game Boy returned to my life.

This Pokémon Day I'm not asking for Pokémon Reconquest, or Black and White remakes. I don't even want to see reveals for Legends Z-A like Mega Talonflame, Mega Hawlucha, or the funniest possible option, Mega Barbaracle. The only thing I wrote in my letter to big Pikachu this year was the return of a Game Boy classic on NSO, and my hopes are high. After all, I've been a very good girl this year.

You can catch Pokémon Presents on YouTube on February 27, at 6am PT / 9am ET.

Tribe Nine Character Gacha Rates Improved

It will be easier to get better characters in Tribe Nine, as the free-to-play PC and mobile game gacha rates for the Event and Standard Synchro banners will change. Akatsuki Games also announced it would be returning used Enigma Entities and Synchro Medals, with any used before maintenance on March 3, 2025 being returned after maintenance ends on that day.

Akatsuki went into some specifics about the refund and rate changes on social media. Contract and Support Contract Enigma Entities will not be sent back. However, paid and free Enigma Entities and Synchro Medals will be returned via an in-game mail once the next maintenance is performed next week.

As for the Tribe Nine characters gacha banner rate changes, they increase for three-stars and two-stars and decrease for one-stars. Here's the exact list of all changes from the announcement:

  • One-Star Character: 94.3% rate will decrease to 90%
  • Two-Star Character: 5.1% rate will increase to 8% (Pickup Target : 1.7% → 6%, non-Pickup Target: 3.4% → 2%)
  • Three-Star Character: 0.6% rate will increase to 2% (Pickup Target: 0.3% → 1.5%, non-Pickup Target: 0.3% → 0.5%)

The announcement also confirmed that you will have a 100% chance of getting a three-star character after 80 pulls on a banner. There is a 50/50 chance of that character being a "Pickup Target." If it isn't, then the next time you will have a 100% chance of getting the featured unit. However, after the March 3, 2025 update, Akatsuki said you will have a 75% chance of getting the event character.

Finally, City Challenges will award Synchro Medals for Completion Rewards. You'll get one medal for each task. For all of these challenges finished before the maintenance period, you'll get an in-game mail with ones you would have earned.

Tribe Nine is available on PCs and mobile devices, and the next maintenance period with gacha rate changes will arrive on March 3, 2025.

Some of the brand-new features include 5-second rewinds and the increase of Original Mode save slots from 1 to 4, with an additional quick-save slot. Some of the games will also have an additional Time Attack mode and a Network Mode that lets people play online via the internet.

The new Arcade Archives 2 version is available at ¥1,100 / $9.99. However, users who have already purchased the original Arcade Archives port of the same game on the PS4 or Xbox One will be able to get the respective newer console versions at just ¥330 / $2.99.

The King of Fighters 98 is one of the series' timeless entries that have received many unique releases. In November 2024, Tanita revealed a body health monitor that includes a fully playable KOF '98 game with a tax-inclusive price tag of 2.2 million yen (~$14,380).

Arcade Archives 2 Neo Geo: The King of Fighters 98 is available worldwide on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The set will practically have a 1/7 scale figure of Ram sitting on a drinking glass. The overall height will be roughly 24cm (~9.45 inches), which is measured from the base of the glass to the tip of Ram's head. Monster Hunter Wilds Twitch Support a Streamer Program Starts Hunter Help: Assistance Pack

Capcom announced a Monster Hunter Wilds Twitch Support a Streamer program that rewards people with a Hunter Help: Assistance Pack of in-game items to use when you play the game. All five kinds of the items in it are ones you can eventually earn while playing. The program will begin at 9pm PT on February 27, 2025, then continue until March 20, 2025.

The way this works actually varies depending on which system we play Monster Hunter Wilds on. So you'll need to either buy or gift a Twitch subscription during "your" week in order to get a code you can redeem to get the Hunter Help: Assistance Pack in-game. This also means that, by the time your week rolls around, you might already be at a point in-game where it is easy to pick up those items in the pack. You can get the pack for supporting any person who is streaming the game in the Monster Hunter Wilds category on Twitch.

Here's the full schedule for Monster Hunter Wilds Twitch Support a Streamer. Things kick off with those playing on PS5 getting a chance to earn the code. Xbox Series X owners need to wait until the last week of the promotion to possibly take part:

  • February 27, 2025 to March 6, 2025: PS5 players can earn the Hunter Help: Assistance Pack.
  • March 6-13, 2025: People playing the PC version via Steam can get the pack.
  • March 13-20, 2025: Xbox Series X players can take part to get the pack.

As mentioned earlier, the items in the Hunter Help: Assistance Pack can be found, bought, or crafted in-game. This pack just immediately gives you some extras for your inventory. Here's what it includes:

  • 2 Shock Traps
  • 3 Demon Powders
  • 5 Large Barrel Bombs
  • 5 Sharp Fins
  • 5 Slinger Flash Pods

Monster Hunter Wilds will come to the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on February 28, 2025, and the Twitch Support a Streamer program starts that same day.

Sonic Rumble Release Window

The new Sonic Rumble mobile game now has a release window of Spring 2025, as confirmed by Sega. The company also revealed a few new modes and features ahead of its launch. It was originally expected to launch at either the end of Winter 2024 or the beginning of 2025.

The global release of Sonic Rumble will bring three new main features. The first of these is a competitive mode called Rival Rank, where players can earn additional rewards. On the other end of the scale, there is also a casual mode called Quick Rumble. While Sonic Rumble will normally be played across several rounds, this mode will allow players to jump into a single round of gameplay instead. Finally, the new Crews feature will allow players to bring their friends along for assistance.

Sega also confirmed that the cast will be gaining additional exclusive abilities. These will be based on abilities the characters are known for elsewhere in the Sonic series. For instance, Amy Rose will be able to stun other characters with her Piko Hammer. Specific abilities for other characters have not been detailed yet, although hopefully we'll hear more before Sonic Rumble's release.

Sonic Rumble was announced at Sonic Central 2024, originally with a release window of Winter 2024. It's a multiplayer party game where players compete against 31 other players in a battle royale consisting of different types of minigame.

Sonic Rumble will release on PC and mobile devices sometime in Spring 2025.

Nintendo Switch console family will have price hike for spare repair parts in Japan in March 2025

Nintendo Switch owners who are residing in Japan will soon have to prepare more funds if their consoles break down. Nintendo announced that it will raise the prices for a majority of repair parts for all existing Switch consoles starting on March 26, 2025. The company cited a steep rise in costs to procure the spare parts as the primary reason for the price hike.

The full list of price changes is available on the Japanese Nintendo support website. It has also been archived, in case a future update to the webpage removes the old prices. All prices listed on the page are in Japanese yen.

  • OLED Switch CPU board - from ¥15,400 to ¥16,500
  • OLED Switch display unit - from ¥11,000 to ¥12,100
  • OLED Switch's other parts - from ¥4,950 to ¥6,050
  • Regular Switch CPU board - from ¥13,200 to ¥14,300
  • Regular Switch LCD unit - from ¥8,800 to ¥9,900
  • Regular Switch's other parts - from ¥4,950 to ¥6,050
  • Switch Lite CPU board - from ¥13,200 to ¥14,300
  • Switch Lite LCD unit - from ¥8,800 to ¥9,900
  • Switch Lite's other parts - from ¥4,950 to ¥6,050
  • Singular Joy-Con parts - from ¥2,200 to ¥2,860

Meanwhile, the following parts will remain at the same prices and not experience any increase:

  • Regular Switch stand - ¥330
  • OLED Switch Dock parts - ¥3,960
  • OLED Switch Dock cover - ¥550
  • Regular Switch Dock parts - ¥3,300
  • Regular Switch Dock cover - ¥330
  • Switch Pro Controller parts - ¥4,290

Nintendo reportedly experienced much difficulty in procuring spare parts for its consoles in recent years. Following the complete discontinuation of Wii U repairs in July 2024, Nintendo is also gradually running out of spare parts for 3DS and 2DS handhelds as it no longer procures new stocks for those.

Spare parts for the New 3DS completely ran out on October 2, 2024. That means outside of the Switch series, the only Nintendo consoles still available for repairs in Japan are the New 3DS LL/XL, 2DS, and New 2DS LL/XL.

The price changes for a majority of Nintendo Switch repair parts in Japan will take effect on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.

Xenoblade Chronicles X Overview Trailer

Nintendo released an overview trailer for Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition showing off the world and various gameplay systems. It released ahead of the remaster's release on March 20, 2025.

The overview trailer is meant primarily for anyone new to Xenoblade Chronicles X, as it is designed to introduce them to the game's various gameplay systems. Things begin by looking at the introduction and character creator. From there, the game's combat is detailed, with an introduction to Arts, the Overdrive system and the use of the Skell mechs in battle. All this will be familiar to players of the original Wii U version of the game, but it may be a suitable refresher for those who need it. It also details that the online multiplayer elements of the original game will be returning for this release.

There are also introductions to the game's story and world. New Los Angeles, the player's home city and central hub of Xenoblade Chronicles X, got a significant focus. As well as an introduction to the city as a whole, the overview trailer also discusses how the city acts as the place to get most of your quests. Again, this will all be familiar to Wii U players, although the trailer does end with a teaser of the remaster's new story elements. We get glimpses of a new floating continent, which has been seen in previews of new characters, along with an ominous encroaching orb of energy.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wkq7eOqhWhU

Xenoblade Chronicles X originally released for the Wii U in 2015. It was the first followup game to Xenoblade Chronicles and offered a stand-alone story with similar mechanics. With the release of the Definitive Edition, all Xenoblade games will be available for the Switch.

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition will release for the Nintendo Switch on March 20, 2025.

Michelle Trachtenberg as Dawn Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer

It's always sad when a face from our childhood passes away, and as someone who grew up watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer every day with my dad after school, I'm utterly heartbroken by the sudden death of Michelle Trachtenberg, who starred as Buffy's sister.

Well, eventually. Dawn Summers was originally introduced in an in-story retcon moment that saw characters blindly accepting that Buffy had always had a sister, even though she'd never existed before. It was later revealed that Dawn was actually the key to unlocking dimensions. Dawn's debut as a character came in the first episode of season five, and she continued to be a central star until the end of the show.

Image via HBO Max

For many, especially those younger than me, Michelle Trachtenberg is probably more remembered for her role as Georgina Sparks in Gossip Girl. But to me, she will always be Dawn Summers, everything I grew up wanting to be and the make-believe big sister I never had.

Buffy was always too much older than me to be a reliable role model, although I'm still shaped by the things I witnessed in the show, but Dawn was just close enough to me in age to be something to aspire to. And when she turned out to be this supernatural thing that unlocked different dimensions? Well, that made her all the cooler in my eyes.

Then, when I was a lowly emo going through the throes of adolescence in 2007, she made a sudden and unexpected reappearance in my life in a cameo role in the video for "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race" alongside Seth Green, who played Oz in Buffy. The perhaps two-second segment of the video sparked a rewatch of Buffy from the very beginning, and I once again adored Dawn.

Trachtenberg was found unresponsive in her New York City home by her mother on January 26 at the age of just 39. According to ABC News, she had recently undergone a liver transplant, and her death is not being considered as suspicious, but rather more likely due to complications in the aftermath of the procedure.

In recent months, fans have taken to questioning both Trachtenberg's physical and mental health, posting comments on her Instagram posts about her "thinning hair" and "yellow eyes". Of course, these comments are now buried under more recent RIPs after the news of her death, but isn't that always the way when a celebrity dies?

Disney Dreamlight Valley Carpet Diem quest

We've done it. We've just about saved Disney Dreamlight Valley's Aladdin Realm, and it's now time to tackle the Windcaller's magic at its core. After collecting remnants of Aladdin's wishes and manifesting them into Dreamlight Magic, we've cleared the vortex surrounding Windcaller, marking the beginning of the Carpet Diem quest.

Carpet Diem quest walkthrough

You'll begin the Carpet Diem quest immediately after completing Wish Magic and using the Magic Carpet to fly up to the Windcaller. Right away, you'll spot several floating rock fragments containing wooden planks, fishing spots, and other important points of interest you'll interact with throughout this mission.

Red Crystal location

Before heading anywhere, grab the wooden plank near your character and cross the path to the Windcaller's red crystal. You need to break all four crystals, and this is the easiest to reach so far. Hit it with your pickaxe before turning around, breaking the nearby sandstone, and placing the wooden plank on the bridge spot next to Aladdin.

Yellow Crystal location

After crossing this first makeshift bridge, you'll find another plank leaning against a wooden crate. Like before, you'll take the plank, place it down, and travel to the island with a peculiar fishing spot. Inside this pool of water is a wooden plank you can walk across. More importantly, though, to your left is the Windcaller's yellow crystal. Break this before moving forward.

With half of the crystals destroyed, break the wooden structure before you and descend to the next island. You'll find a monkey guarding a wooden plank, and your character suspects they need to collect a Golden Banana. Don't worry about this now; we'll come back to it.

Blue and Green Crystal locations

Instead, push the nearby wooden beam down and cross it to access the blue crystal. Close by is a massive wooden barrel and a bunch of golden bananas, both of which you can interact with. Gift the bananas to the monkey to receive the wooden plank, giving you free rein to destroy the final crystal.

Now that you've destroyed all four crystals, the Windcaller will crumble, with Aladdin swooping in to save you from any unfortunate plot twists in this story. The three of you will reunite at ground level, letting everyone collect their thoughts and feel relieved that the residents of Agrabah are now safe.

Welcoming Jasmine and Aladdin to Dreamlight Valley

With everything under control, Jasmine and Aladdin now feel comfortable returning to Dreamlight Valley as permanent villagers, letting you return home and build their house. Place their home anywhere in the valley you'd like and pay Scrooge's 20,000 Star Coin fee to officially welcome Jasmine to the village. A quick chat with Aladdin will have him returning as well. You'll receive the Magic Carpet as a companion, marking the end of Disney Dreamlight Valley's Carpet Diem quest.

Monster Hunter Wilds

If you're eager, like me, to jump into Monster Hunter Wilds on February 28 but don't want to wait a long time (unlike me), there's a cool way to save almost half a day if you're on Xbox.

Once again, Capcom has decided to go for a regional launch on consoles. In simpler words, Monster Hunter Wilds is going to be released on your console when the midnight clock strikes 12 in your region. Naturally, some countries will have the game available earlier as the Sun appears there sooner.

This creates a fun opportunity for Xbox users to jump in early with the help of a simple trick.

How to play Monster Hunter Wilds early

The following process is a tried-and-tested method specifically available for Xbox consoles. It's not available for all video games, as the system relies on regional launch schedules to work.

  • Open the settings of your Xbox Series X|S console.
  • Ensure that no game is running in the background. Just to be sure, restart your console once before starting the process.
  • Go to System under your Xbox Settings.
  • Select Language and Location.
  • Select Location.
  • Set your location to New Zealand.
  • You'll have to restart your console.
  • Once the console restarts, you can start playing Monster Hunter Wilds if it's already February 28 in the nation from Oceania. It doesn't matter where you're geographically as your console's location has temporarily been set to New Zealand.

A hunter with a hammer striking a Chatacabra in the head.

This method is pretty easy to try out, and it's safe. It's not any form of exploit, as Xbox allows you to switch the location of your console easily. If you're on PlayStation (like me), there's no such benefit to avail. The only thing to do is to wait patiently for midnight to arrive in your region.

If you're on PC, you'll have to wait for a different system, as Steam will follow a simultaneous launch schedule across all regions.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Wish Magic quest

At long last, we're nearing the end of Disney Dreamlight Valley's Aladdin Realm story with just a couple more missions to complete. After obtaining the Protection Amulet and repairing Agrabah's Alchemy Table, you'll wrap up the Breaking Through mission and immediately begin the Wish Magic quest.

Wish Magic quest walkthrough

After repairing the Artisan District's Alchemy Table and crafting a Gold Lamp, you'll chat with Jasmine about deciphering the Ancient Tome before talking to Aladdin. This conversation with Aladdin marks the beginning of the Wish Magic quest, bringing you on a journey to uncover his three wishes. He remembers what they are, but they now need to materialize into magical fragments.

First Aladdin wish remnant location

Aladdin's first wish remnant is just outside the entrance to Agrabah. As you exit Agrabah and approach the portal back to Dreamlight Valley, turn right to find a desert oasis. While this only had one fishing circle previously, it now has four for you to target.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Remnant of the First Wish
Screenshot by Destructoid

Although this quest task only asks you to find a wish fragment, you'll still want to cast your line in all four circles. Three will give you Quicksand Mud, while the fourth grants you the Remnant of the First Wish. Keep this mud on hand, as you'll need it later in this quest. Once you catch the mud and wish remnant, head back to Jasmine to hear about his second fragment.

Second Aladdin wish remnant location

Before we can collect Aladdin's second wish remnant, we must solve the fountain water puzzle connected to the Artisan District. First, you'll need to take the Quicksand Mud from before and Gold Shards from breaking sandstone rocks to create new pipes. Head to the massive fountain area near the Artisan District and Central Market before talking to Jasmine again.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Remnant of the Second Wish
Screenshot by Destructoid

From here, you have a new puzzle: rotating each circle so the water flows through the pipes. Starting with the circle closest to Jasmine, turn it once before moving clockwise, following each circle until their ends connect to the rest of the piping. The fourth circle is already in the right spot, so skip this and rotate the fifth until the Remnant of the Second Wish appears on the ground.

Third Aladdin wish remnant location

After solving the fountain puzzle, talk to Jasmine again about the last wish remnant. He freed the Genie, making this the most memorable and heartwarming wish he could've made. It's so special that it manifested into Genie's Joy, an item you now have to locate. You'll find Genie's sparkles in front of the palace where you first met Aladdin.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Genie Sparkles for Remnant of the Third Wish
Screenshot by Destructoid

Once you collect the Remnant of the Third Wish, head back to the Artisan District and interact with the Alchemy Table you made during Breaking Through. Tossing all three remnants inside the cauldron will give you the Lamp Enchantment. Give everything to Jasmine to wrap up the Wish Magic quest, leading you directly into the Carpet Diem mission.

An official promo pic of the Framework Desktop PC.

Boy howdy, PCs sure are neat when your GPU isn't actively trying to kill itself in a blazing flame of glory. If you're not keen on that idea, looking into pre-builts with AMD GPUs may be the way to go, and Framework's fancy new Desktop PC is right on schedule.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm all for DIYing your own desktop from parts. Heck, that's what I've always done, and piecing the hardware together is great fun in my book. Choosing appropriate and compatible hardware can be a pain from a layperson's perspective, though, and it would seem that Framework understands this quite well. The company behind the snazzy semi-DIY Framework Laptop has just announced that it's working on a very exciting semi-DIY desktop PC as well, and everything points to it being a real hoot.

https://youtu.be/-8k7jTF_JCg

The Framework Desktop PC is phenomenally neat, but it won't come cheap

The Framework Desktop PC was just announced as part of the company's 2nd Generation 2025 launch event. It's effectively a pre-packaged set of finely tuned parts that the end-user simply needs to put together according to the provided instructions. Framework claims it shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to get your Desktop up and running, which is an impressively short build time if I'm honest. At the same time, the company also notes that the build process is "moderately" difficult, so that's something to keep in mind if you're interested in the device.

A wealth of information about the Framework Desktop is available on the official order website. Two things to note on that front, though. Firstly, it's not a cheap PC by any stretch of the imagination, starting at just under $2000 US for the base model. Secondly, it's running some really exciting hardware, such as the fancy new AMD AI Max APU. In a practical sense, this means the Framework Desktop is going to be a remarkably potent workstation and gaming PC and should be capable of pulling its weight no matter what the workload might be.

Here are some selected specs of note:

  • APU (accelerated processing unit): AMD Ryzen AI Max 385 / AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395
  • NPU (neural processing unit): Up to 50 TOPS @ 32 tiles
  • Power draw: up to 120W sustained
  • RAM: 32-128 GB of soldered-on LDDR5X-8000 memory
  • Ports: 1x HDMI 21, 2x DP 21, 2x USB-C, RJ45 (5 Gbit), 2x USB-A 3.2, 3.5mm combo plug

There's loads to like about this setup, but remember that all Framework Desktops also support all standardized Framework Laptop expansion modules, allowing you to add even more utility to your handy little rig, to say nothing of the lovely customizable front-end.

Setting the Desktop's machine learning capabilities aside for a moment, Framework claims that the base $2000 spec of the PC should net you an average of 67 FPS at 1440p/Ultra in Monster Hunter Wilds, though admittedly with frame-gen technology enabled. Still, it's a very competent result for something as small and handy as this PC.

Now, I'm not saying that the Framework Desktop is a phenomenal bang for your buck. You could feasibly build a substantially faster rig with an Nvidia GPU for about the same price if you wanted to. That's what I did, though I skipped the blazingly fast RTX 5000 series for obvious reasons. Framework's stuff is really neat, however, and the company's laptops have held up from the very start, so there's merit in choosing this particular device. Just note that the first couple of batches of the Framework Desktop have already sold out, so you may wait a while before yours ships out.

Disney Dreamlight Valley golden banana locations

Have you ever talked to a monkey that loves gemstones? If not, you haven't finished Disney Dreamlight Valley's Monkey Business quest. During the Aladdin Realm's quests, you'll encounter several monkeys who've gotten their hands on enchanted gemstones. You need these gems, prompting you to collect golden bananas for them instead.

All Golden Banana locations in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The golden bananas you need to find during Disney Dreamlight Valley's Monkey Business quest are scattered all around the Aladdin Realm. Fortunately, the first is by far the easiest to spot, as you can find it by turning right from where you found the group of monkeys. The golden bananas will be on the floor next to them, letting you clear away the nearby sandstone to pick them up.

Disney Dreamlight Valley first golden banana location

The second golden banana requires some backtracking to the Aladdin Realm's Artisan District. The quickest way to reach it is to backtrack to the South Market and Central Market before following the hammer signs. Follow the rooftops at the back of the Artisan District to find the next bunch of golden bananas on the walls overlooking the fountain puzzle.

Speaking of the fountain puzzle, you'll need to make your way down here to find the third and final bunch of golden bananas. The bananas are nestled behind some sandstone at the puzzle. Collect these final ones before returning to the monkeys.

With all three golden banana batches on hand, return them to the monkey group to swap for the gemstones. Now, quickly chat with Aladdin to turn them into a Protection Amulet, advancing the Monkey Business quest and bringing you one step closer to completing the realm's story.

Ajarakun in MHW

With Monster Hunter Wilds about to launch, veteran players are already thinking of ways to make the game more challenging—especially if reviews are correct about its difficulty.

Early comments suggest Wilds is more accessible to newcomers and easier to pick up than past entries. You can check Destructoid's MH Wilds review for further insights. What remains unclear, though, is whether it's too easy overall, and that uncertainty has some longtime players concerned.

Some think they've already found a solution—even before the game releases. But, as proven by a similar Monster Hunter World challenge, not everyone agrees.

If Monster Hunter Wilds is too easy, try a weapon you never play with

On Reddit, a player suggested that veterans should master a weapon they've never used from past games like Rise and World: " I feel like this is an opportunity for a lot of players to go and learn a new weapon," they wrote.

https://www.reddit.com/r/MHWilds/comments/1iyma2v/too_easy_main_a_weapon_you_know_nothing_about/

The idea split the community. Some embraced it: "I'll try to embark on the quest of soloing all monsters with all weapons before the DLC is out." Another player wrote: "I do see it as an opportunity to play with my 9 year-old kid."

However, others strongly disagreed. "You don't have to change the difficulty of the entire game or have an arguably worse experience with your main weapon just to have an incentive to try a new weapon," one player wrote. Another one added, "if they have to nerf themselves to allow any challenge, then what's the point?"

Monster Hunter World's "ultimate challenge" proves the idea is divisive

In September 2024, a player created the "ultimate" Monster Hunter World challenge, requiring players to defeat five monsters using all 14 weapons: Tempered Ruiner Nergigante, Raging Brachydios, Arch Tempered Velkhana, Alatreon, and Fatalis.

https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunterWorld/comments/1f8v9pq/ultimate_mhw_challenge_defeat_5_monsters_with_all/

Reactions were just as mixed. Many joked about refusing to swap weapons: "Does it count if i defeat them all with the great sword 14 times?" a commenter wrote. Another player had the same feeling and said "Why are they all insect glaive?"

Others questioned if some fights were even possible. "Anyone who can beat Fatalis and AT Velk with [heavy bowgun] gets my full respect," a player wrote. "Fatalis with [charge blade] is pretty nightmarish too," a second player added.

Whether Monster Hunter Wilds proves to be too easy or whether players take difficulty into their own hands, the debate will soon be settled. The game releases on February 28, though its release times vary by region and platform—so be sure to check when you can start playing.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Aladdin and Jasmine

Jasmine and Aladdin have officially made their way into Disney Dreamlight Valley, residing in the once flourishing desert town of Agrabah. Now, it's ravaged by sandstorms, and it's up to us to solve this dilemma. Let's help Jasmine and Aladdin so they'll join us in our Dreamlight Valley villages.

How to open the Aladdin Realm in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Before you meet Jasmine and Aladdin, you must take a trip to Dream Castle and unlock Aladdin's Realm. You'll find the Aladdin Realm on Dream Castle's fourth floor, next to several unmarked doors. It costs 15,000 Dreamlight to unlock. As you search around for the Realm entrance, watch for a door with a lamp symbol and a bunch of night thorns blocking the way.

Once you unlock Aladdin's realm and enter Agrabah, you'll begin the "The Ancient Revealed" quest. You'll now have free rein to talk to Jasmine and Aladdin to figure out this desert town's situation.

How to find Jasmine and Aladdin in Disney Dreamlight Valley

After unlocking Aladdin's realm and entering its door, you'll immediately start the "The Ancient Revealed" quest and observe Jasmine watching the destruction of Agrabah. There's a massive sandstorm, with Aladdin nowhere in sight. Before unlocking Jasmine and Aladdin, you'll need to complete The Ancient Revealed and the realm's subsequent quests.

Completing both quests requires learning new mechanics like traversing different levels by creating wooden ramps, avoiding obstacles like sand tornadoes, and breaking large orange stones. You'll need to pick up pickaxe upgrades and learn some stealth skills, but the realm's quests will naturally guide you through this.

After completing the "The Ancient Revealed" quest and officially meeting both Jasmine and Aladdin, you have a few more missions to finish before unlocking both characters. Here's the complete list of quests required to invite Jasmine and Aladdin to your village:

  • The Ancient Revealed
  • Brave the Storm
  • Monkey Business
  • Breaking Through
  • Wish Magic
  • Carpet Diem

Unlike previous realms that primarily had you completing one to two quests, sometimes a couple of extras, the Aladdin Realm's story has six. Overall, your goal before unlocking Jasmine and Aladdin is to save Agrabah from the Windcaller Vortex so they and the rest of their world's residents can feel safe.

Saving Agrabah is a lot of work, and Jasmine and Aladdin appreciate the effort. They'll appreciate it so much that, after everything is said and done, they'll join Dreamlight Valley as villagers once you pay the 20,000 Star Coin cost to build their home.

Disney Dreamlight Valley alchemy table

In Disney Dreamlight Valley's Aladdin Realm, as you speak to Jasmine and Aladdin about the Windcaller Vortex during the Breaking Through quest, you'll forge a Protection Amulet and learn about alchemy. However, you won't be able to take advantage of alchemy until you recreate the Artisan District's Alchemy Table.

All Alchemy Table part locations in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Shortly after starting the Breaking Through quest, Jasmine and Aladdin will decipher an Ancient Tome and tell you to restore Agrabah's Alchemy Table. Repairing the alchemy table requires collecting the following items:

  • Alchemy Table Crucible
  • Alchemical Cauldron
  • Alchemy Table Base

During your dialogue with Aladdin, he'll imply that you need to travel outside the walls of Agrabah. While the wording is tricky at first, the key is returning to the Aladdin realm's entrance where you first spawned into the area. The easiest way to do this is by backtracking to the Central Market where you first met Jasmine before running toward the exit, breaking the sandstone rocks blocking your way.

Alchemy Table Crucible location

Disney Dreamlight Valley alchemy crucible location

First on the first is the Alchemy Table Crucible, which you'll find directly on your right after passing through the realm's entranceway. Turning right reveals three sandstone rocks with a small pink-purple object in the center. Break these stones to pick up the crucible. You'll also find a fishing spot with a green key, which you'll need for a future quest.

Alchemical Cauldron location

From the Crucible's location, turn 180 degrees to find a swirling vortex of sand. Normally, this'd prevent you from accessing the small accessible area behind it, but you now have a Protection Amulet that keeps you safe. Equip the amulet and walk through to find the cauldron behind some sandstone rocks.

Alchemy Table Base location

Last up is the Alchemy Table Base, which you'll find in the same area as the cauldron. If you're still at the cauldron's spot, turn right to find more sandstone rocks, with the base right between them. Clear away the rocks to grab the base, completing this task and allowing you to progress through the Breaking Through quest.

Once you have all three items, return to Aladdin and Jasmine in the Artisan's District before placing them on the empty spot near Aladdin. The spot will sparkle in front of a small orange cushion and two golden pots, making it easier to find.

EA FC 25 Lucas Digne and Axel Witsel RTTF Player Pick SBC solutions

The EA FC 25 Lucas Digne and Axel Witsel RTTF Player Pick SBC is now live in Ultimate Team, and you can complete it to pick between the two European superstars for your squad.

The first job is to complete all three tasks that are part of the challenge. Doing so will unlock the player pick for you. Let's take a look at how you can complete the challenge and which card is the better pick.

EA FC 25 Lucas Digne and Axel Witsel RTTF Player Pick SBC tasks

The Lucas Digne and Axel Witsel RTTF Player Pick SBC has three tasks, and here are their requirements.

Task 1 - 85-Rated Squad

  • Min. Team Rating: 85

Task 2 - Top Form

  • Min. 1 Players: Team of the Week
  • Min. Team Rating: 85

Task 3 - 86-Rated Squad

  • Min. Team Rating: 86

EA FC 25 Lucas Digne and Axel Witsel RTTF Player Pick SBC solutions

Here is a set of solutions you can use to complete the latest challenge in Ultimate Team.

Task 1 - 85-Rated Squad

  • Blundell 84
  • Hasegawa 84
  • Walsh 85
  • Roord 86
  • Martinez 84
  • Dallmann 84
  • Palhinha 85
  • Aleix Garcia 84
  • Kimmich 86
  • Mane 84
  • Hummels 85

Task 2 - Top Form

  • Blundell 84
  • Hasegawa 84
  • Walsh 85
  • Roord 86
  • Martinez 84
  • Dallmann 84
  • Palhinha 85
  • Aleix Garcia 84
  • Any 86-rated TOTW item
  • Mane 84
  • Hummels 85

Task 3 - 86-Rated Squad

  • Patri 88
  • Irene 88
  • Caruso 84
  • Bruno Guimaraes 85
  • Schuller 86
  • Vlahovic 84
  • Dallmann 84
  • Gabriel 86
  • Palhinha 85
  • Hummels 85
  • Hasegawa 84

While both cards have similar chances to get upgrades in the future, I like how the Digne item looks. The combination of Jockey+ and Quick Step+ is really underrated in many ways, and you also get the privilege of Aston Villa going deep in the tournament to secure at least a few upgrades. Witsel's playstyle+ could have been far better, given he's a CB.

If you're looking for an alternative at a higher budget, there's the Guti Fantasy FC Hero SBC to consider.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Brave the Storm quest

Immediately after finding Aladdin in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you'll conclude the "The Ancient Revealed" quest and begin "Brave the Storm." Throughout Brave the Storm, you and Aladdin will travel to Agrabah's South Market and restore its market stalls to make things feel more lively.

Brave the Storm quest walkthrough

You'll begin the Brave the Storm quest after completing The Ancient Revealed and speaking to Aladdin. He and Princess Jasmine agree that disabling the Windcaller is a top priority, with fixing up the South Market being one of his first steps.

Finding the South Market

Starting from the South Alley rooftop, pick up the nearby wood planks, timber stacks, and rope to create your first bridge across the rooftops. You'll find the timber next to a massive barrel, rope behind some sandstone near Aladdin, and the wood in front of a small staircase connected to a wooden door. With each item on hand, create a bridge on the blue carpet near Aladdin to cross the gap, leading to another obstacle.

That's right: another gap. Fortunately, you'll find a timber pile, rope, and a wooden plank near this area, which you'll use to create another makeshift bridge. Before crossing over, head into the small pathway just before this bridge to grab some extra wood and rope.

On the other side, you'll find some extra wood and a timber pile to prepare you for the next few bridges. By now, you should have enough resources to make two, leading you to a wooden structure you can turn into a ramp and a timber pile you'll need later in the quest. Congratulations: you and Aladdin are now in the South Market. He celebrates by giving you some Rose Water, which you can use through your inventory.

All 'something sticky' item locations

The most challenging part of this section is figuring out what "something sticky" is in the Brave the Storm quest's context. The answer is Sticky Fouled Fruit Sugars, a resource you obtain using your Royal Watering Can on a pile of rotting fruit. Here are three spots where you can find these piles:

  • Next to the South Market's entrance ramp
  • In an alleyway next to the South Market's entrance ramp, behind two tornadoes
  • Next to the staircase on the opposite side of the market

Along the way, you'll find various stall repair kit materials like bolts of silk, timber stacks, and fine rope. However, visiting these three locations isn't enough to locate everything, so let's go grab the rest.

Finding stall repair kit resources

By now, you'll already have a timber stack from the top of the South Market entrance, and you may have some you collected while visiting the rotting fruit piles. Here are the rest of the stall repair kit item locations:

  • Next to the first rotting fruit pile, you'll find a timber stack in the wall's corner.
  • Past the tornadoes to the left of the first rotting fruit pile, you'll spot a timber stack, fine rope, a bolt of silk, and two wooden planks.
  • You'll find a bolt of silk and fine rope near the second rotting fruit pile.
  • Near the third rotting fruit pile, you'll encounter a bolt of silk near a tornado.
  • Behind the third rotting fruit pile, you'll find some fine rope.

With every item on hand, talk to Aladdin before crafting the stall repair kits. You can now visit each of the broken wood structures to recreate the stalls, rewarding you with a resource bag containing money and food.

Once you use up all three stall repair kits, return to Aladdin to wrap up Disney Dreamlight Valley's Brave the Storm quest, leading directly into the Monkey Business mission.

The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 4

The fourth installment of the The Rising of the Shield Hero finally gets an official release date. Fans can mark their calendars as The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 4 will premiere in July 2025. Unfortunately, there is no specific date yet.

Meanwhile, Jiro Saito, who voiced Denken in Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, will voice the lion beastman Jaralis.

About The Rising of the Shield Hero

The Rising of the Shield Hero is based on Aneko Yusagi and Seira Minami's light novels of the same name. The anime adaptation released its first season in June 2019, second season in April 2022, and third season in October 2023. Season 4 was already confirmed to be in production months prior, with teaser visuals being released infrequently.

The story revolves around the titular hero, Iwatani Naofumi. Naofumi was forced into the role after being summoned into a fantastical world as one of the Four Cardinal Heroes. Not only was the Shield Hero the least liked among the four, but Naofumi's trusted party member also betrayed him in just a few days. And so, he could only rely on himself to survive in this new world.

During the three seasons, however, Naofumi already established himself as a bona fide hero. In the last season, Naofumi stepped up to unite the Four Cardinal Heroes before the Phoenix awakens. Since the season ended before the threat awakened, it's highly likely Season 4 will possibly revolve around resolving that conflict.

The Valve logo with a schematic drawing of the rumored Deckard virtual reality headset.

In the world of virtual reality, there aren't a huge amount of options. You've got the PS VR from Sony, Meta Quest, the HTC Vive, and the Valve Index. Speaking of Valve, it's been rumored the company has a new headset in development, and it may be arriving this year.

According to rumors by known leaker Gabe Follower, the Deckard – as it's known – could be on track for release by the end of 2025. On top of that, the device could be getting slapped with a pretty steep price tag, with it said to cost around $1,200. However, this could well be part of a bundle that may include some "in-house" games and/or demos.

https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLeaksAndRumours/comments/1iyhh44/valves_1200_wireless_vr_headset_codename_deckard/

The Deckard will likely be geared towards compatibility with Valve's Steam Deck system. The leaked information goes on to say that one of the VR headset's core features will be the ability to "play flat-screen game[s] that are already playable" on the Deck, but with the notable advantage of not needing a PC.

Will the Deckard get demo'd soon?

It should be stated that Valve has yet to confirm whether the Deckard is even real, let alone arriving this year. However, there has been plenty of speculation over the last couple of years, with a patent filing being reported back in 2022.

If the rumors are true, this will be the next virtual reality device from Valve, which is said to be a follow-up to the Valve Index headset, which released in 2019. The latter has proven to be fairly popular among VR fans, but then, that is still quite a niche market.

The fact that the Deckard could cost $1,200 upon launch may raise a few eyebrows. Gabe Follower believes that, even at this price, Valve may sell the device at a loss. Sadly, we are going to have to temper expectations and wait for official confirmation. However, it's possible a "behind closed doors" presentation could be happening soon.

Fellowship Classes and Characters Tier List

The public playtest for Fellowship has arrived, giving dungeon crawler and MMORPG fans the opportunity to skip the grind and jump into dungeon running. We've created a classes and characters tier list to highlight the best characters in the playtest which you should be sure to try out.

Fellowship Character Tier List
Screenshot by Destructoid

Fellowship Character Tier List

At the time of the Public Playtest that started during Steam Next Fest, there 6 playable characters. This includes 2 characters in the tank role, 2 in the healer role, and 2 in the DPS role. Each character has its own unique playstyle, similar to classes in more traditional MMORPGs. It's important to keep in mind that every character is playable and able to complete all the content in Fellowship, and if you take the time to learn a character and excel at them, that will be far better than any tier list ranking. As such, this tier list aims to highlight the best overall characters during the public playtest.

S Tier

  • Meiko

    • As a tank, Meiko is also capable of dealing massive amounts of damage, making her a very powerful option for pushing higher-level dungeons. Once you've learned her monk-like combos, you can deal as much damage as a DPS while also timing your cooldowns and self-buffs for unparalleled defensive capabilities.

  • Sylvie

    • While Meiko is a damage juggernaut as a tank, Sylvie is a damage juggernaut as a healer, while still offering incredible healing throughput. If you build up and direct her pets appropriately you can see Sylvie fly up to the top of the DPS meters and even burst down an enemy quickly.

A Tier

  • Helena

    • When it comes to pure damage mitigation, Helena is probably slightly ahead of Meiko with her Toughness mechanic. If you just want to be a pure tank, she's your choice. But higher level dungeon keys will benefit from the higher damage output of Meiko, which is why she pulls ahead.

  • Rime

    • Rime is a caster damage dealer built around builder/spender mechanics and making use of her Winter Orbs to deal massive amounts of burst damage. She's relatively easy to play but can also benefit from optimized play on when to make use of her Winter Orbs which can push her ceiling even higher.

B Tier

  • Tariq

    • If a player takes the time to learn how to play Tariq and learn the mechanics of his Swing Timer and use your builders/spenders properly around the Swing Timer, Tariq can arguably be in the S Tier. However, his mechanics are much tougher to pull off effectively and efficiently, especially when dealing with some of the higher-level dungeon affixes, which makes it hard for him to keep up with Rime.

C Tier

  • Vigour

    • You might be surprised to see one of the healers, Vigour, so low on this tier list. But really it's just because Vigour doesn't really bring anything to the table. His strength is AoE Healing but with group sizes of only 4, it doesn't quite match Sylvie's usefulness who can just easily keep everyone up while also dealing massive amounts of damage.

Mailbox in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Being able to place down multiple player houses wherever you like in Disney Dreamlight Valley added a new realm of decorative possibilities, but it also brought along a problem — multiple Mailboxes.

Admittedly, it's not that much of a problem. At most, it's an irritating bubble informing you of new mail whenever you get close to any of the player houses. But with multiple houses (and therefore multiple Mailboxes) and the rate at which villagers seem to send mail including basic resources, it does get a bit much.

Thankfully, as part of the Tales of Agrabah update on February 26, players can now choose to hide Mailboxes on most of the player houses. Here's how you can do it.

How to remove Mailboxes from houses in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Mailbox notification in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Screenshot by Destructoid

First of all, you cannot remove the Mailbox at your main player house in the base game or any of the expansion areas. This is only an option at additional houses, such as those purchased through the Premium Store or as part of Bundles

If you want to remove a Mailbox at an additional house, you won't be able to do it from outside. Instead, go into any additional house and step onto the lift at the left side of the door. Here, you'll either be able to add floors, or there's a new option to toggle the Mailbox on or off.

Mailbox toggle in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Screenshot by Destructoid

Toggling this off will remove the Mailbox from this specific additional house, so if you have a few of them dotted around, you'll need to manually go around and toggle the Mailboxes off. Sadly, there isn't an option to remove Mailboxes as standard when placing down a new optional house, so you'll also need to do this whenever you place a new one down in the Valley or beyond.

You also can't simply move them somewhere else. This is a toggle between having them on additional houses or not having them, and Mailboxes cannot be separated from each house to be placed elsewhere.

Terastalized Eevee in the Prismatic Evolutions Super Premium Collection box

The Pokémon Company just revealed a new must-have TCG item—one you'll probably never get to buy because scalpers will scoop up all the stock before you even get a chance.

Several Pokémon TCG insiders have shared the first images of the Prismatic Evolutions Super Premium Collection, reportedly launching on May 16. Like other premium collections, it includes booster packs, set-themed sleeves, and exclusive card art—this time featuring Eevee ex.

https://twitter.com/PokemonRestocks/status/1894626039172620654

However, The Pokémon Company has yet to officially announce the product. It's possible they'll reveal it during the Pokémon Day 2025 celebrations.

Pokémon TCG's Prismatic Evolutions Super Premium Collection contents

According to leaked images, the Prismatic Evolutions Super Premium Collection includes:

  • 1 full-art foil promo card of Eevee ex
  • Eevee deck box
  • Playmat featuring Eevee & its evolutions
  • 65 card sleeves with Eevee & its evolutions
  • 15 Prismatic Evolutions booster packs
  • Code card for Pokémon TCG Live

While the suggested retail price remains unknown, its contents are closer to an Ultra-Premium Collection (like Terapagos ex's box) than a Super-Premium one (Charizard ex's box), suggesting a price point around $120.

But once again, real players will likely struggle to buy it at retail price, with scalpers inflating costs on the secondary market.

Prismatic Evolutions already has a scalper problem

The Prismatic Evolutions set includes some of the most valuable cards in recent Pokémon TCG history, particularly the Special Illustration Rare Eeveelution cards, such as Jolteon ex at a $280 minimum resale value and Umbreon ex at over $1,500.

These prices stem from low product availability—as Prismatic Evolutions is a special set with limited print runs—and the massive popularity of Eeveelution cards. But the real problem is scalpers who buy up bulk stock online and in stores, hoarding products for profit.

https://www.tiktok.com/@netzwerkfehler404/video/7460863264856001814?q=pokemon%20scalpers%20prismatic%20evolutions&t=1740591741941

Scalpers operate in two ways: they buy in bulk to maximize their chances of pulling rare cards and resell them at a premium, or hold onto sealed products like Elite Trainer Boxes and booster boxes to resell them at double or triple retail price to desperate collectors.

This already happened in 2023 when the Van Gogh museum halted distribution of a Pikachu promo after scalpers took control of the stock. We're also seeing similar movement with the Pokémon Day 2025 promo cards, which are already on sale for high prices in the secondary market.

Currently, Prismatic Evolutions sealed products are reselling for at least double their original price.

  • Elite Trainer Box (MSRP: $59.99) → Reselling for $120
  • Booster Bundle (MSRP: $26.94) → Reselling for $69

The situation got so bad that The Pokémon Company publicly addressed the issue on January 15, promising to print more product. Yet, at the time of writing, every Prismatic Evolutions product is still out of stock on the official Pokémon Center website.

https://twitter.com/PokemonTCG/status/1879574273544622582

Will the Prismatic Evolutions Super Premium Collection Be Any Different?

Unfortunately, there's no reason to believe this box will be any easier to get. Unless retailers and The Pokémon Company take action, expect another wave of scalping, leaving only a small fraction of real fans able to purchase it at retail price.

Destructoid has reached out to The Pokémon Company for comment.

Disney Dreamlight Valley south market item locations

As you venture through Disney Dreamlight Valley's Aladdin Realm, you'll quickly notice Agrabah is in complete disarray. A sandstorm is turning the area upside down, including the South Market, where you and Aladdin are currently. You'll need to collect resources for repair kits, but they're hiding in some unusual spots.

All 'Something Sticky' locations in Disney Dreamlight Valley

After using the Rose Water Aladdin gave you, you'll find four item types to collect, including a mysterious item called "something sticky." In Disney Dreamlight Valley, these are also known as "Sticky Fouled Fruit Sugars," which you collect using your watering can on rotting fruit piles scattered around Agrabah.

Although you can find these fruit piles around the Aladdin's Realm, there are three easy spots within the South Market you can visit:

  • Near Princess Jasmine's idle spot next to the market's entrance ramp
  • Next to the staircase where Aladdin's standing
  • In an alleyway near the market's entrance

Once you find a rotting fruit pile anywhere in the realm, use your Royal Watering Can to receive some Sticky Fouled Fruit Sugars and random fruits you can eat. These sugars count toward the "something sticky" objective, knocking out the hardest part of this quest section.

Now that you have the most challenging item out of the way, it's time to find some fine rope, timber stacks, and bolts of silk. You need three of each, with most appearing within the South Market itself. You'll even find some in the same locations as the rotting fruit piles from earlier.

Fine Rope locations

There are three total fine ropes you can find in the Aladdin Realm's South Market:

  • Near the rotting fruit pile in the South Market's side alcove alongside bolts of silk
  • Behind the rotting fruit pile next to Aladdin's staircase
  • Past two tornadoes next to the market's entrance ramp

Timber Stack locations

There are three total timber stacks you can find in the Aladdin Realm's South Market:

  • At the top of the South Market's entrance
  • Near the rotting fruit pile next to the market's entrance ramp
  • Past two tornadoes next to the market's entrance ramp

Bolts of Silk locations

There are three bolts of silk you can find in the Aladdin Realm's South Market:

  • Near the rotting fruit pile next to Aladdin's staircase
  • Near the rotting fruit pile in the South Market's side alcove alongside some fine rope
  • Past two tornadoes next to the market's entrance ramp

You'll also find three planks as you travel to these areas that you'll need later in the quest, so make sure to pick these up. Once you have every item, including the "something sticky" fruit sugars, head back to Aladdin to craft the stall repair kits, fix the market stalls, and wrap up the Brave the Storm quest.

Disney Dreamlight Valley something sticky featured image

During your adventures in Disney Dreamlight Valley's Aladdin Realm, you'll meet Jasmine, navigate Agrabah's rooftops, and find Aladdin near the town's South Alley. As you follow him to the South Market during the Brave the Storm quest, he'll ask for help repairing the market's stalls.

Although this sounds normal at first, you'll quickly learn you need to gather several resources, including fine rope, timber stacks, and "something sticky." What is this sticky item Disney Dreamlight Valley requires us to find? Let's find out.

All "Something Sticky" item locations in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The "something sticky" items you need to find during the Brave the Storm quest are known in Disney Dreamlight Valley as Sticky Fouled Fruit Sugars. You may have noticed numerous rotting fruit piles during your travels to the South Market. Using your Royal Watering Can on these piles turns them into gross, mushy sugars that you need to craft stall repair kits.

Within the South Market area itself, you'll find one of these piles near the wooden ramp from which you entered. There is a nearby tornado to watch out for, but it doesn't spend much time in the fruit pile's spot. You'll also need the nearby timber stack for this quest, so be sure to pick that up.

Once you interact with this first pile, turn around and head past the two tornadoes on the opposite side of the market. To your left, you'll find a small alcove containing another rotten fruit pile. Use your watering can on it to get another "sticky" item. Turning around at this spot will also give you a bolt of sick and fine rope.

While there are more rotten fruit piles around the map, the easiest one to find from here is next to a staircase in the South Market. Once you leave the second spot's location, turn left toward the stairs to find the rotten fruit pile on the opposite side of Aladdin and the crafting station. You'll also find some rope here for the repairs and a plank for later.

Once you have the last Sticky Fouled Fruit Sugars batch, simply known in-game as "something sticky," hunt for the other items before crafting your stall repair kits. You are now one step closer to helping Aladdin and Jasmine repair Agrabah, letting you invite them to Dreamlight Valley as permanent villagers.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Ancient Revealed quest

Immediately after unlocking and entering Disney Dreamlight Valley's Aladdin Realm, you'll begin the "The Ancient Revealed" quest, which will introduce you to Agrabah and Jasmine's current situation. It's your job to navigate this mess and help them out in hopes of inviting her and Aladdin to your village.

The Ancient Revealed quest walkthrough

You'll first begin the "The Ancient Revealed" quest by unlocking Aladdin's Realm in Dream Castle. After paying its cost and entering the region, you'll find Agrabah in disarray, with Jasmine looking on in frustration. However, you can't talk to her immediately, as the way to her is blocked. It's time to practice our parkour skills.

Finding Princess Jasmine

Fortunately, the way over is simple. You'll start by heading right up a small wooden ramp with a large plank blocking the way forward. Interact with it to knock it over, letting you climb to the building rooftops. Moving forward, you'll find another wooden platform, which you can break with your Royal Pickaxe to turn into a third ramp.

Following the realm's linear path from here, you'll find a green chest locked behind some spiked stones that we'll approach later and another wooden plank up a ramp. Head past the trellises and hit the next wooden structure to catch a glimpse at your next big obstacle: sandstorm tornadoes.

As you traverse this next area, you'll find several tornadoes blocking the way that you have to evade. You can't sneak to the right past them, so the only way is to carefully watch their movements and find an opening. Having extra stamina for this part will make it easier, but you can get through just fine without it.

Entering the Artisan's District

With that out of the way, it's mostly a straight shot toward Jasmine, with an alleyway and a barred door separating the two of you. Hit the door's beam with your pickaxe to unlock the way to the massive sandstorm crater, with Jasmine standing nearby. She'll explain the current situation, advising that we find Aladdin and the Artisan's District so you can acquire a new tool.

First, though, you'll need to find three planks for Jasmine. The first is right near the spot Jasmine brings you to, while another is buried in the ground. The last plank is only accessible once you head to the other side of the crater, interact with a plank, and climb some rooftops. There's a tornado blocking the way, so you'll need to sneak past it to grab the board.

Once you have all three planks, interact with the sparkling space next to Jasmine and place them all in to access the rooftops. Your only option is to go left, where you'll find a green treasure chest and another wooden structure to break with your pickaxe.

All Artisan Alloy locations

Now that you're in the Artisan's District, she'll ask you to find three Artisan Alloys in market chests. You can find the first one quickly by turning right from where Jasmine is standing and interacting with a wooden chest next to a door. Inside is one Artisan Alloy alongside some other valuable goodies.

With that chest out of the way, head back to where Jasmine is and pick up the massive wooden plank leaning against the wall before digging up a smaller plank near it. With both planks in hand, head back up the ramp you entered from and head forward until you reach the inaccessible wooden beams from before. Use the large plank on it to make a walkway for yourself, giving you access to a market chest and wooden plank directly on your right side.

With two Artisan Alloys on hand, head forward and interact with the huge wooden barrel blocking your way to a ground-level area. You'll need to interact with the blue carpets soon, but don't worry about these yet. For now, head past the barrel and turn right to find another wooden beam in front of some orange rocks.

With all three planks on hand, return to the blue carpets from before and make a ramp to access the third and final market chest. Inside is your last Artisan Alloy, letting you return to Princess Jasmine to advance the quest.

After a brief conversation with Jasmine, you can now use the nearby crafting station to craft your pickaxe upgrade. This upgrade lets you break the orange rocks blocking access to most of Agrabah, making it much easier to traverse the map. Head to where Jasmine stands and break the orange stone deposits before following her to the South Alley.

Finding Aladdin

At long last, it's time. Aladdin is nearby, and only one more rooftop ramp section separates us from him. As you follow Jasmine through Agrabah and break batches of orange rocks, you'll find a small alleyway with a tornado, three planks, and a staircase leading to Aladdin.

Fortunately, all three planks are in this alleyway, with one right next to the tornado. There's a small bag on the ground you can open to give you a fruit parfait, giving you an energy boost for sprinting past the tornado. Beyond this, you'll find a second plank buried under the sand next to the staircase, while the third is next to a wheelbarrow full of flowers.

Once you have all three planks, climb the staircase and repair the final ramp to officially meet Aladdin. Following a conversation between him and Jasmine, you'll talk to Jasmine one last time before wrapping up Disney Dreamlight Valley's "The Ancient Revealed" quest. It'll end immediately, leading you into Aladdin's "Brave the Storm" mission.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Artisan Alloy locations

Throughout your time in Disney Dreamlight Valley's Aladdin Realm, you'll enter Agrabah's Artisan District alongside Jasmine in hopes of upgrading your pickaxe. However, upgrading your tools requires collecting three Artisan Alloys around the distract by locating small wooden chests. While they're not locked behind complicated puzzles, they require some parkour.

All Artisan Alloy locations in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Each Artisan Alloy is located in the Aladdin's Realms Artisan District and its surrounding areas. You won't have to return to the Windcaller's crater where you first found Jasmine, but you will have to traverse nearby rooftops.

Fortunately, your first Artisan Alloy is the easiest to find. Once you talk to Jasmine in the Artisan's District, pick up the large plank behind her and dig up the smaller one in the ground. You'll need numerous planks throughout these quests, so watch out for them. From here, turn right and run toward the nearby market stalls and gold pots. The first wooden chest is sitting comfortably next to a small door and a stack of barrels and contains an Artisan Alloy.

The next two sections require picking up two additional planks on top of the ones you already have on hand. With a large wooden board, a small plank, and an Artisan Alloy in hand, head back to the ramp where you initially came from before heading through the brick door across the rooftop. You'll find a gap separating you from the rest of the chests, which you can patch up with the large plank. Once you place it down, turn right to find a wooden chest and another plank.

Now that you have two planks and alloys, head past the massive wooden barrel and turn right to find a third plank. You now have everything you need to push the barrel aside and create a ramp down to the third Artisan Alloy chest.

Once you have all three Artisan Alloys, head back to the Aladdin Realm's Artisan District and use the purple crafting station next to Jasmine. You'll find a pickaxe upgrade recipe here, allowing you to equip it in your inventory and unlock the ability to break orange rock formations.
