Friday Night Funkin' Kickstarter Passes $1.1 Million – How to Support the Full FNF Game

friday night funkin kickstarter

For me, Miniclip was the site to play when I was at school, games like 8 Ball Pool and a variety of others kept me entertained during class.

While some things on the infamous browser gaming site have stayed the same, others have changed – with some game's popularity blowing up sky high.

An example of this is none other than Friday Night Funkin' a browser game that's popularity is currently like no other.

What is FNF?

Friday Night Funkin' or FNF is a browser-based rhythm game that "doubles as a playable cartoon."

Inspired by games like DDR and other arcade classics, Friday Night Funkin' challenges players to keep rhythm with a bunch of directional arrows.

The story is described as:

You have your girlfriend, but her folks don't dig you. In fact, they down right hate you, and it doesn't help that they're literal demons. And if that wasn't bad enough, it seems like just about everyone is looking to get in the way of you two enjoying some funkin' peace.

What's the deal with the Friday Night Funkin' Kickstarter?

The developers of the game were looking for a paltry $60,000 dollars to fund the game, however, as stated FNF is incredibly popular.

At time of writing, the title has raised over $1.1 million on the crowdfunding platform – Kickstarter.

Those who back the title for $15 or more will get a copy of the full game that adds:

  • 20 new weeks of gameplay (a total of 60 songs)
  • New gameplay mechanics
  • Cutscenes
  • Local 2 Player
  • Playable Characters
  • Online Leaderboards
  • Polished Visuals
  • Mod Support
  • Much more

There has also been a bunch of goals that have been smashed adding a mobile build, 10 additional weeks and 10 extra playable characters.

How to Support the Friday Night Funkin' Kickstarter

This one is easy – all you have to do to support the game is head over to this link and back it for the amount you desire.

New Verdansk '84 Map

The Destruction of Verdansk is officially over, and players have been transported back to simpler times. Sort of.

After the Nuke hit Verdansk, players were treated to a cutscene that reversed the time all the way back to 1984 and dropped us back into Verdansk.

You can check out the cinematic cutscene in the tweet below, courtesy of @charlieINTEL.

Verdansk Resurgence Trios

So, with the new Warzone map officially live in game, what's the new Verdansk Resurgence Trios all about?

This new mode is set in the 1984 version of Verdansk and is extremely similar to the original Rebirth Resurgence Mode.

The official description of the mode is as follows:

"Survive to redeploy fallen teammates and earn score to return them faster."

This is Verdansk '84 with no gulag. Players will drop into the map as normal and loot as they normally would, but this time when you die, you don't have the chance to respawn via the Gulag.

Instead, your teammates will have to stay alive until the countdown reaches zero and any fallen teammates will be automatically revived. Your teammates can also kill other players to reduce the countdown by a certain amount of seconds, getting you back into the fight even quicker.

Overwatch Patch Notes April 22 – Hero Balance Update

Pale Serpent Widowmaker Skin Revealed for Overwatch

The best thing about Overwatch's experimental playlist is that it allows players to get a sneak peak at what's potentially set to come to the game in a future update. Because of this, plenty of Overwatch fans were able to see these changes coming.

Today's Overwatch patch isn't anything completely out of the ordinary or new. As stated above, everything here today could be found in the recent experimental update from just last week.

That said, it's still good to be on top of what's coming and going to and from the game. What's more, Overwatch patch notes often feature developer commentary on each character that helps players understand the game's meta a little bit more.

  • NEWS: Overwatch: Why Did Jeff Kaplan Leave Blizzard?

Overwatch Patch Notes April 22

Here is the full list of Overwatch patch notes from April 22.

HERO UPDATES

BAPTISTE

We are reducing Immortality Field's minimum health threshold and Baptiste's area-of-effect healing output as they were providing too much value overall for closely grouped teams. However, direct impacts with the healing grenade projectiles will now grant additional healing to the impacted ally to keep his single target healing effective, with a slightly higher skill requirement.

Biotic Launcher (Secondary Fire)

  • Healing projectile explosion reduced from 60 to 50 health
  • Healing projectile direct impact now restores an additional 20 health

Immortality Field

  • Now protects teammates to a minimum health threshold of 10% maximum health, down from 20%
D.VA

D.Va's respawn is often intentionally delayed by the enemy team if she is the last player alive from her team and without her mech. This change will make it more dangerous to be near the Call Mech arrival area for low health heroes.

Call Mech

  • Damage increased from 50 to 250
ECHO

This is a change picked up from the Community Experimental card. Since Echo gains an additional health pool through using her Duplicate ultimate, it seemed reasonable that she doesn't need to be healed to full upon it ending as well. The minimum health value is there so she doesn't instantly die to a small amount of damage when it ends, as often with a long duration ultimate it can be difficult to remember her starting health.

Duplicate

  • When Duplicate ends, Echo will return to the health value she had prior to activating the ability, or to 100 health, whichever is higher
MOIRA

Moira has been underperforming in the support role even in team compositions and metas where we'd expect her to excel. Reducing the cooldown of Biotic Orb is a significant increase in Moira's potential to quickly adapt to many situations

Biotic Orb

  • Cooldown reduced from 10 to 8 seconds
ORISA

We're reevaluating the cooldown for Orisa's 'Halt!' ability after previous changes have reduced its effectiveness to combo with other heroes. We'll keep a close eye on whether the increased frequency of this displacement ability ends up being too disruptive to gameplay.

Halt!

  • Cooldown reduced from 8 to 6 seconds
REINHARDT

Reinhardt has been overperforming since his last round of changes. To help increase tank diversity we are reverting his armor to its previous value while keeping the Rocket Hammer damage increase for now as it helps to balance out the reduced crowd control duration of Earthshatter.

General

  • Armor reduced from 250 to 200 (Health/armor total reduced from 550 to 500)
ROADHOG

Roadhog is a hero who has been underperforming lately with not much changing about him since late last year when he had a more dominant presence, though the balance of other heroes has indeed shifted around. We're partially reverting the reduction to his damage to help bring him back up to a more effective level.

Scrap Gun (Primary and Secondary Fire)

  • Damage per projectile increased from 6 to 6.6
SOMBRA

Sombra's gameplay usually involves a lot of time waiting for opportune moments to strike and using the Translocator to disengage at a safe distance. Speeding up her movement in Stealth should help get her back into the action more quickly.

Stealth

  • Movement speed bonus increased from 50 to 65%

Boomerang X Preview – Boom Eternal

Playing indie games one of the best methods to understand and gain knowledge of the endless creativity that oozes out of game developers. If you can't invest months into these gems, playing a few hours of Boomerang X could be enough to give you a valuable insight.

Being creative with games can is the best solution for studios that cant obtain a huge budget. Most of the time, with these indie titles, the results really pay off. When it comes to developing indie games, using your imagination can open many doors.

The more you show originality when creating the finer details, the more valuable, in terms of gameplay, your work can be to the player. That's one of the many ways developers can surprise their players with every wildcard in their hand, and while the player thinks they are coming to the end, you bring in the next big surprise.

This is essentially how my Boomerang X preview experience turned out, and if you'd like to get more details about this interesting indie from Dang!, allow me to tell you why I enjoyed it and where it needs some work.

Boomerang X is all about an action-packed fast-paced shooting experience where you are going to enjoy every challenge that the game has prepared for you. Think of a Doom Eternal but without the story. In my experience, people barely play Doom Eternal for its story anyway. It's all about those crazy demon-filled scenes where you have to use dozens of skills and abilities to tear the monsters into pieces.

Boomerang X delivers a very budget-friendly version of Doom Eternal, but it tries its best to keep the level of entertainment at the same pace to which the developers have successfully accomplished.

A Master Class of Weapon Design

Instead of featuring dozens of weapons with various functionalities that enable multiple ways to encounter and kill your enemies, Boomerang X does the job with a single weapon. An X-shaped boomerang is all you have in this game to overcome the challenges, and you will always be surprised by the new upgrade that the weapon receives at the beginning of every new chapter.

Your boomerang enables you to shoot, teleport, slow down time, and trigger some special abilities. All of these upgrades come in very handy when you encounter a new challenge. Sometimes, these powerful upgrades become a little too essential that finishing a chapter seems impossible without the them.

The more you play the game, the harder challenges become. Level design in Boomerang X is simple. Every time that your boomerang receives an upgrade, you face a number of tasks in various locations, where you have to defeat waves of enemies and get the pass to further yourself along in the game.

The level design is more like stage-based mobile games in how every new season brings new enemies and abilities. The developers did a particularly great job at adding in a new variety of foes after the beginning of every new chapter.

There Needs to Be Some Tweaks

Gameplay-wise, my hopes for Boomerang X is that when the full version launches, it can still maintain its entertainment factor and won't need too much tuning or tweaking. But as it stands, the game has some issues on the technical side.

Hopefully, the developers will have enough time to polish the game off and get rid of its bugs that include the occasional frame-drops, but for a fast-paced experience like Boomerang X, even minor technical issues could result in a loss.

Boomerang X Preview

Other than the technical problems, the HUD of the game also needs some tweaks. As a fan of the no-HUD idea, I admire the developer's purpose to make the game as immersive as possible, but placing a lot of upgrades on a boomerang sometimes makes it tough to remember which button triggers a certain ability. In this case, enabling the players to have an option to turn on/off the HUD would be much of a help.

Summarizing my preview on Boomerang X, I should admit that this is a game that delivered much more than I expected in the one to two hours of my preview. The creativity behind the gameplay design is the best and biggest achievement of the developers at Dang! and I hope they don't let some of its minor issues ruin it at launch.

Boomerang X will be available this year on PC and Nintendo Switch.

Where is Fancy View in Fortnite? Week Six Epic Quest Challenge

Fortnite Locker Worth

Every week Fortnite adds new challenges for player to complete. One of the best features about the challenges is that they ask players to play the game in a way they might not normally or explore areas of the map that they don't normally find.

With the recent seasonal update to the game for Fortnite Primal, there were some pretty major changes to the map. Week six's challenge asks players to find a handful of locations including the Fancy View, Rainbow Rentals, and Lockie's Lighthouse.

While the Rainbow Rentals and Lockie's Lighthouse are pretty well known, Fancy View is a little bit more obscure. Here's where Fancy View is in Fortnite.

  • MORE: DC Universe Infinite: What Is It? Fortnite Crossover, Price, How To Sign Up

Where is Fancy View in Fortnite?

Finding Fancy View is relatively simple as long as you know where to look.

When you're dropping off the Battle Bus, try and get to the leftmost part of the map, you should be aiming for the center–or as close to it as you can get. Get to the coast and follow it to the north until it starts jutting out west. From there, you should see a cliffside with a house on it. There's plenty of large glass windows, so make sure you stay moving as anyone who's inside the house will be able to see you. Enter the house and you should notice in the area name in the bottom left corner say "Fancy View."

This house is known by a lot of people as the John Wick house from when he was introduced as a skin in the game back in 2019.

NieR Replicant Ver.1.22 is already out in Japan, multiple journalists and streamers have the game as well, and it will be releasing in a few hours in the West, on PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam – how long does it takes to beat the game and clear everything? Details after the jump.

NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… is a remaster and upgraded version of the original NieR Replicant. The game was exclusive to Japan as we only got the Gestalt version, featuring the father version of the protagonist instead of the brother version. So in a sense, this is the first time ever most people outside Japan will be experiencing the game.

How Long It Takes to Beat the Nier Replicant remaster?

In NieR Replicant Ver.1.22, compared to the original, the battle system is closer to NieR Automata. The graphics have been improved, and the game is fully voiced. We detailed the main changes in our past coverage.

However, NieR Replicant Ver.1.22 still is the same game as the original. As such, you'll need around 40 hours, the same amount of time as with the original game, to see all endings and complete the remaster. in Normal difficulty.

With that said, the NieR Remaster has several extra hours of content compared to the original, most notably the Mermaid chapter. Which should give you a few extra hours of gameplay.

  • DLC – New extra content and DLCs explained with gameplay

How much time it takes to get the Platinum Trophy?

According to players who got the game earlier than most, who also shared their trophy data, it takes in average 60 hours to get the Platinum Trophy.

Personally speaking, I'll always point out 100% clearing a game doesn't necessarily getting the Platinum Trophy. Beating the same monster 100 times with no reward but a trophy isn't real content in my book. This isn't the case in NieR Replicant, but sometimes, some Trophy requirements can be extremely time-consuming with no real challenge.

Now that Nier Replicant is out of the way, creative director Yoko Taro is also working on a brand new, "indie" like game. Be sure to check out the mobile game NieR Reincarnation as well.

Apex Legends – Who is Ash From Titanfall 2? Apex Legacy Explained

apex legends ash

Fans of both Apex Legends and the Titanfall series are having a field day this week. So much connective tissue is showing between the two franchises, and it seems like the new Apex Legends Legacy Arena mode is going to keep those connections growing with the reintroduction of Ash from Titanfall 2.

As more and more lore continues to be revealed for Apex Legends, it's starting to become just how clear the connection is between it and Titanfall. With the "Stories from the Outlands – Northstar" being the most recent large-scale tie in.

Today changes all that with the trailer for Apex Legends Legacy, the next chapter in the Apex Games. The trailer put Ash at the head with her hosting a new game mode titled "Arena."

Here's everything you need to know about who Ash is from Titanfall and how she connects to Apex Legends.

  • MORE: Apex Legends Legacy – Who is Erika Ishii Voice of Valkyrie?

Who is Ash from Titanfall?

Ash has quite the backstory and is already an established character in both Titanfall 2 and Apex Legends so it makes sense that she would be one of the new important characters for Apex Legacy.

She served as one of Titanfall 2's antagonists with her participation in the mercenary group the Apex Predators. However, she lived after her defeat by protagonist Jack Cooper and BT and continued to work on and off with Apex leader Kuben Blisk. After having her mind transferred into a robotic body, Blisk threw her head into the interdimensional portal featured prominently in the Apex map Kings Canyon. After being reassembled by the Legends, she's contacted once again by Blisk who invites her to go meet an "old friend," a reference to the now playable Horizon.

She's certainly had her ups and downs both on and off screen, but now she seems to be tapping into her more sadistic side by hosting the bloodsport spinoff of the Apex Games, the Apex Arena.

While not much is known about the Apex Arena other than what's in the teaser trailer, it seems like we're going to be getting a whole lot of Ash in the upcoming season.
