Blizzard Entertainment has revealed what new changes it will be making to Sombra in Overwatch 2 as it starts to lift the lid on some of the changes it'll be making to the game's established heroes going forward.

If you can ignore the on-going, all-consuming its sexual harrassment and discrimination lawsuit against Activision Blizzard at the moment, you may be excited to learn that Sombra is getting some changes when the next game launches.

In a new video posted to Overwatch's official YouTube channel, game director Aaron Keller and lead dero designer Geoff Goodman gave detailed insight into Sombra's suite of abilities for the next game.

Hasbro will now be making video games alongside its myriad of toys. Magic: The Gathering maker Wizards of the Coast, which became a full-fledged division of Hasbro in February, has established a new game studio aimed at creating licensed titles based on Hasbro's many properties, the first of which is a third-person G.I. Joe game currently in development.

Wizards of the Coast's studio is based in North Carolina, dubbed the New Raleigh-Durham Studio. The team is led by WB Games veterans who have lent their talents to the Hitman and Batman Arkham franchises. New Raleigh-Durham Studio is currently hiring an art director, lead animator, lead game designer, and technical director, according to its job listing. The posting also describes the G.I. Joe title as a multiplatform action-adventure title made in Unreal Engine.

During the February investor event, Wizards of the Coast president Chris Cocks spoke about the company's gaming plans, saying that "...in addition to developing our own IP, we will also be leveraging some perennial Hasbro favorites with an eye towards developing them digitally. Hasbro has an amazing vault of brands with decades of stories and characters with generations of fan coattails to tap into. We will bring these brands to digital life and develop experiences that resonate with the lifestyle gamer in ways that are new, fresh and provocative." So far we already know that a Transformers game by Pokémon Go maker Niantic is currently in the works.

In another big gaming move, Hasbro extended its partnership with Epic earlier this year to expand its line of Fornite products. You can read about the details of that agreement here

What Hasbro properties would you like to see and Wizards of the Coast turn into games? Let us know in the comments!

If you're curious about playing Into The Pit, the Doom-like, spellcasting roguelike announced during Xbox's Gamescom press event; a new limited-time demo has been made available on the Humble Store.

Into The Pit puts you in command of a mystic on the hunt for occult powers. When the player character's cousin, Luridia, discovers the titular pit in a village, she finds it full of demonic power, causing them to stop sending letters. It's up to the player to get to the bottom of what exactly happened.

Click here to watch embedded media

Judging by Into The Pit's trailer, developer Nullpointer Games is taking heavy inspiration from the Doom series – particularly the aggressive and fast-paced gameplay of Doom (2016) and its sequel, Doom Eternal. However, instead of guns, players dart around casting spells and various powers.

Into The Pit will be released for Xbox consoles and PC on October 19. The game's new demo is available now for PC players via Steam. It's only out for a limited time, though the demo's press release and its Humble Store listing don't specify exactly when the demo will be taken down. We've reached out for clarification and will update the story should we hear back.

Check out the Into The Pit demo here.

NBA 2K22 is finally out in the wild, and it's a pretty decent basketball game, although it may not have the "wow factor" of previous entries. However, one of the highlights is the MyCareer mode where you play as MP, a YouTuber who turned heads with his basketball skills. He's now carving his own path to NBA stardom, which can include way more than basketball as you live out your career in 2K's The City. This living, breathing multiplayer hub lets players do everything from shopping for new clothing to playing in pick-up games and tournaments.

Anyone who has played the NBA 2K series will tell you that Visual Concepts has always had a sense of humor about the sport (Frequency Vibrations, anyone?), but this year, the dev team really took things to a silly and fun level in MyCareer. It makes for one of the strangest experiences. So much so, I knew I had to document some of my greatest (and most hilarious) moments as MP for your enjoyment.  So I humbly offer you a visual tour of how I spent my time in The City, building my career and path to stardom. I promise this is a game about basketball.

Becoming A Force In Fashion

Becoming A Force In Fashion

How you dress leaves an impression, and part of being a star is showing you have style and personality. Type into the internet, "best dressed NBA players" and you're bound to find list upon list debating the topic. From Russell Westbrook's trendy and modern look to LeBron James' love for a good jacket, what the players wear gets people talking. So, how does my up-and-coming rookie MP make a statement? He walks the runway, of course! The City has a fashion runaway, where you select the type of walk you want. I prefer to sashay, personally, but it's important to note that you can unlock better turns and walks as you play, allowing your walk to constantly evolve. Enjoy this video for reference.

Now if you want to focus on your love of fashion, you can push it one more level and create your own fashion line.  There are three different designers you can collaborate with, all representing different areas of fashion. You can go with more streetwear that's loud and proud or choose to be suave and chic with your own suit line. I went for the third option: stylish athletic apparel. This was the result.

Of course, not everybody is a fan...

Making Sweet Music With Rapper The Game

Making Sweet Music With Rapper The Game

I didn't just want to be a one-trick pony. I wanted to be a multi-talented star, so I explored music, and I still can't believe the places it took me. It started by simply selecting some lyrics, then getting into the groove with my sweet rhymes. I had to think about what message I wanted to send and how to make it work with the flow of the song. It sounded a bit amateurish, but it's enough to get people talking.

Soon enough, famed rapper The Game is hitting me up to collaborate, but before we do, he hazes me, requiring me to bring him coffee and run around the city to find him a perfect jogging route. It ends in success, as I launch a record label and we perform our track at its launch party.

Heating Up The Press Circuit

Heating Up The Press Circuit

Part of the job is publicity and handling press requests. As my name gets more recognition, in pour the magazine covers, endorsements, and press conferences. Don't I look cool?

So, it started off with some embarrassing sponsorships. You can't be picky when it comes to free VC (virtual money). After all, I need to keep up appearances by buying better clothing and jewelry. This will pay the bills.

Eventually, Adidas lets me design my own shoe, but I know I've truly made it when I hit the cover of NBA 2K23.

As the magazine covers and my points per game pile up, people start to notice...

However, haters gonna hate!

Just Hanging Around The City

Just Hanging Around The City

I live in The City, so I have to go out and explore every so often. The truth is, you never know what you'll find. Here are some of the things I've stumbled upon.

This shot captures a couple getting into an intense argument, with lots of hands in the air to convey their emotions.

Group workouts in the park... No need to get involved. I'll just awkwardly watch.

Jake from State Farm!

Who then asked me to wear his uniform on the fashion runway...

But nothing is quite as great as when you upgrade your pad, as seen below. Pictures with and without my party people.

But the best part of getting a new place is it giving me access to a zipline to make stunning entrances to play park games. I have truly made it.

Sadly, I still don't have a go-kart, but they're available...

This is only a brief glimpse into the journey of MyCareer on new-gen, but it touches on a lot of the things that I'll never forget from my time in NBA 2K22. Share some of your hilarious experiences below! Did I also mention I got promoted to Captain of the Lakers over Lebron, Westbrook, and Davis? Dream big, kids!

He's hungry for blood again.

The Sonic the Hedgehog Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade balloon has a chaotic, yet thrilling history: He was the first-ever video game character to be represented as a Macy's Parade balloon, but he's also the most removed balloon in the parade's history. And now, he's back.

He first appeared in the Thanksgiving parade in 1993, as a 64-feet-tall balloon filled with helium and hope, but strong winds turned his debut into a disaster. In a twist that seemed orchestrated by Eggman himself, Sonic was stabbed in the eye by a lamp post, and the falling debris injured an off-duty police officer and a ten-year-old girl (who were both fine, don't worry).

It's BIG.

YouTubers have been getting their hands on the Nintendo Switch OLED ahead of release, and after last week's Switch OLED unboxing from Japanese YouTuber HikakinTV, another video has arrived: an unboxing from Nintendo Prime which also features a comparison to the original Nintendo Switch.

As you can see, the OLED's screen is quite a lot bigger and a little bit brighter than the original, and although we knew that the screen would be 0.8 inches larger, it was pretty hard to envision what that meant.

For Dying Light 2's devs, adding wall-running was the easy part

When the original Dying Light launched at the beginning of 2015, the world was not in need of another zombie game. But at what was perhaps the peak of Walking Dead hype and the start of zombie burnout, Dying Light's parkour system made players sit up and take notice. Dying Light 2 aims to do that again by expanding and improving on the original game's fluid and physical movement system.

Techland's lead gameplay designer Bartosz 'Glova' Kulon tells us that some of the most dramatic additions to the original game's moveset haven't actually been all that hard to implement. It's getting moves - such as wall-running - to work with the rest of the motion system that's the real challenge.

"The wall-running itself is not that difficult," he explains. "You detect a wall-run surface, make the player stick to it, and play a good animation. The problem is that the surface could be a wall that also has ledges for climbing. So we have to avoid those ledges, because preventing wall-running on surfaces that aren't even would actually limit the move a lot."

Alan Wake Remastered comparison trailer churchOver two weeks ago, developer Remedy Entertainment unveiled its first trailer for Alan Wake Remastered, an updated rerelease of the 2010 cult classic. The remaster certainly appeared faithful to the original game. Although, fans of that initial release likely already noticed several visual differences and upgrades when analyzing the trailer more closely. To the average player, however, the remaster may not look that much different from the original, which makes sense considering that Alan Wake is a decade-old game that has not seen a rerelease up until now. Having said that, a recently posted comparison trailer for Alan Wake Remastered clearly shows that the rerelease changes much more than just the resolution. For most viewers, the new character model for the titular protagonist represents the most obvious visual change compared to the original. Remedy Entertainment Creative Director Sam Lake specifically mentioned the new character model back when the game's first trailer ca...
