The recently "remastered" GTA trilogy has some of the ugliest rain I've ever seen, and a handful of days later, modders have fixed it.      Age of Empires 4 patch fixes the Mongols' aggressive town center placement

Age of Empires IV has been trucking on nicely since the RTS game released at the end of October, and the development team at Relic is already hard at work releasing patches and essential bug fixes while the community decides which of the new Age of Empires 4 civilizations they prefer.

Today's smaller patch focuses on some high profile bugs and "balance issues related to Mongol town centers". Specifically, Mongol town center capital, which like most other Mongol structures can be packed up and moved around, can no longer be placed in unexplored territory, and it must now be placed at least 20 tiles from an enemy player's town center.

The Age of Empires team says patch 7989 also includes some optimisations that will "drastically reduce performance drops when panning the camera across the map". If you're playing Age of Empires IV on Steam, you'll now also be able to link to your Xbox Live account. The team has also fixed an issue with disappearing unit health bars, which players reported would sometimes disappear even if they'd set them to remain visible.

XCOM 3 wishlist: everything fans want from a new XCOM game

Consdering we know that Firaxis is currently working on a turn-based tactics game called Marvel: Midnight Suns, it's the perfect time to talk about XCOM 3. Back in 1994, game designer Julian Gollop launched the legendary turn-based strategy game X-COM: UFO Defense. In case you've somehow missed it (seriously, what have you been doing!?) it's a unique and unforgiving strategy game that depicts a secret organisation fighting to stop an alien invasion.

It was pretty iconic and inspired Firaxis Games' Creative Director Jake Solomon to become a game designer in the first place. Many years later, he spearheaded the team that launched XCOM: Enemy Unknown, a spiritual remake of Gollop's UFO Defense.

The reboot achieved unprecedented heights in the turn-based strategy genre, marrying a tale of humanity and military heroism to the original's unforgiving gameplay where any of your elite soldiers can be killed in a mission, permanently removing them from the campaign. 70% of players failed their first campaign, but it didn't matter: XCOM's second coming was a hit. 2016 saw a sequel in the form of XCOM 2, but it required a couple of hefty DLC drops to really shine.

Outriders' huge New Horizon update expands the endgame and adds transmog

Outriders is getting a "colossal" free content update on November 16. Called New Horizon, the update will bring a reworked expedition loot reward system, brand-new expeditions to explore, and new customisation options for your characters.

The New Horizon update marks the first major post-launch content drop for Outriders, and a key feature is the rework to expeditions - the endgame missions available after you've wrapped the main campaign. Before the New Horizon update, players had to complete these expeditions as quickly as possible to get the best loot; however, this is no longer the case. The reworked expeditions do away with any time-based rewards, instead offering more rewards based on how long it should generally take to complete that expedition. There's still an option to turn on timers for expeditions for those who want the challenge, but this is just for bragging rights - you won't get any extra goodies for doing so.

The biggest effect of this change is that it'll take as long to complete a single long expedition as multiple runs of shorter expeditions to get the same loot. It should also give players the freedom to go into an expedition without pigeonholing themselves into a specific Outriders build designed to get through expeditions as quickly as possible. This update works in tandem with previous updates that increase legendary loot drop rates and the system that reduces the chance of picking up duplicates of legendary loot you already have.

Star Wars Eclipse is rumoured to be the Detroit: Become Human devs' next game

Where there's smoke, there's often fire - and there's a lot of smoke around a new Star Wars game said to be in development at Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human developer Quantic Dream. Rumours about the game have been circulating since September, and a new batch of discussion suggests that the game will be announced in December.

Putting some caveats before his report, industry insider Jeff Grubb says in his latest GrubbSnax podcast (paywalled): "You can go to Reddit, make a forum post about this if you want, but I'm going to say right now: I'm not certain. I think it is a Star Wars: High Republic game, and it's called Star Wars Eclipse. That's what I'm hearing."

Grubb says he expects an official announcement on the game "probably before the end of the year", and posits two potential venues for that reveal. One is Geoff Keighley's Game Awards on December 9. The other is an ongoing series of announcements of new Star Wars merchandise at StarWars.com. The site has teased a videogame-related announcement for December 14.

Total War fans carry the torch with fan-made Three Kingdoms patch

Historical Total War fans received a bit of a blow earlier this year when Creative Assembly announced it would no longer be supporting Total War: Three Kingdoms. Sure, we're getting some kind of successor, but overall fans were not happy.

With support pretty much shut down for the strategy game, a group of modders have taken it upon themselves to try to inject some TLC into Three Kingdoms by making an unofficial fan patch and releasing it as a mod. "This mod made by all the community fixed 66 bugs that CA will never fix," the description reads, with the Steam Workshop entry listing six names as authors.

Fixes vary from characters that should be dead still able to spawn in campaigns, especially in later start dates, to errors in terrain effects that were introduced in the 1.7 patch. There are also plenty of fixes to specific leaders and factions, and this mod also incorporates contents from another mod (with permission) that makes use of unused assets created by Creative Assembly for the Total War game.

The best Genshin Impact Albedo build

Looking for the best Genshin Impact Albedo build? Albedo is a handsome young scholar and 'alchemical genius' who uses his expertise as Chief Alchemist and Captain of the Investigation Team to create beautiful yet devastating Geo flowers that explode with area-of-effect damage.

He can be built as a DPS if you so choose, but even though he's a one-handed sword user, we believe his strengths lie in the sub-DPS role, as his Elemental Burst and Elemental Skill abilities provide huge area-of-effect damage that scales from his defense stat. In order to maximise Albedo's damage, his Elemental Skill, Solar Isotoma, should be cast in each fight, as it deals AoE Geo damage to foes in the area through its Transient Blossoms. If there's a Solar Isotoma on the field when Albedo casts his Elemental Burst, it will generate seven Fatal Blossoms, each exploding and dealing a ton of damage.

Gathering foes into a small area will maximise the burst damage from Fatal Blossom, as each enemy will be tracked by one blossom, leading to massive damage if you cluster them. For this reason, Venti or Sucrose are ideal teammates for Albedo, as they can group foes with their ults. Albedo also synergises well with Klee - and since they're essentially siblings, running them on the same team is extra adorable. Here's our Genshin Impact Klee build and Genshin Impact Venti build just in case you've got either of these characters - but rest assured, Albedo is a valuable asset to any team. Here's what you need for the best Genshin Impact Albedo build.

     The Elder Scrolls VI

With Skyrim Anniversary Edition having just launched ten years to the day after the iconic RPG's debut, fans' attention is naturally once again turning to the prospect of The Elder Scrolls VI. Other than a very gorgeous (and very brief) teaser announcing the game, no other key information about what it'll bring has emerged yet - however, it looks like the devs definitely acknowledge that it'll need to be as enduring a game to its fans as its predecessor, Skyrim.

In an interview with GQ about how the Xbox ecosystem has grown beyond just the console itself, Bethesda Game Studios director Todd Howard touches on how TESV's long life in the hearts and minds of fans affects how the devs approach making its follow-up - and it naturally sounds like it adds some pressure. "I think that would drive me crazy to try to say, 'Okay, this is the thing you have to top,'" he tells the site, on considering Skyrim's enduringly long life.

"But then you realise, like, The Elder Scrolls VI has got to be a 'decade game'. How do you make a game where you go into it, like, 'people have to play it for a decade?'" It's a mightily tough one to answer and indicates that, while the team is well aware of the implications of Skyrim's incredible legacy, this must be a challenging thing to wrangle with in terms of player expectations.

Battlefield 2042 system requirements – your gaming PC might be in for a fight

Battlefield 2042 is now available for those that pre-ordered on PC, and while the game has a few teething problems, our review in progress says it's a "giant playground" that could be a fan favourite. Unfortunately, the barrier to entry is a little steeper than it was during the FPS game's closed beta, meaning you might need a beefier gaming PC to meet Battlefield 2042's release day system requirements.

Much like before, you'll need at least 100GB of free storage to house the game. You'll benefit from putting it on an SSD rather than any old mechanical hard drive, too. In a song you'll likely have heard time and time again, you'll need 8GB of RAM to run the game at minimum, while 16GB is recommended. Nvidia DLSS even makes another appearance, so you can boost fps and hit a higher resolution.

The heart of your rig is where things get a little tricky, as EA has raised the bar from the closed beta in August. Intel users will still be able to play the game with the same equipment as before, but those on team red will now need to sport an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 to run the game. This was the previous recommended gaming CPU, but is now the bare minimum.

Intel and Nvidia agree that CPU and GPU shortages could persist through 2022

15/11/21 Nvidia has revealed that ongoing component shortages could affect production throughout 2022.

Intel has a lot in the pipeline for 2022, and Pat Gelsinger hasn't been shy about the company's ambitions - especially when it comes to crushing Apple and AMD with its Alder Lake CPUs. However, while the blue team boss is optimistic about Intel's future in the gaming PC space, he thinks that semiconductor shortages will persist beyond 2022.

In an interview with CNBC, Gelsinger claims that the component shortage will get "incrementally better" but says there won't be a "supply-demand balance until 2023". Like with a similar statement made by AMD's Lisa Su, the Intel CEO doesn't give a specific timeframe for when supply issues will subside. However, the fact that both company heads agree that the situation won't resolve itself this year provides the forecast with some clout.

The ongoing global pandemic is somewhat to blame for disrupting semiconductor supplies, but events like China's mandated industrial power shutdown also isn't helping. Naturally, if global shortages continue, upcoming products like Intel's Alder Lake lineup, Nvidia's RTX 3080 refresh, and AMD's Zen 4 processors could be in limited supply.

What is the fastest car in GTA 5?

What is the fastest car in GTA 5? Chances are you're wondering if any of the new GTA cars in the Los Santos Tuners update are currently vying for the top spot as the quickest ride in the game. Who knows, the fastest car in the update could be an upcoming GTA Los Santos Tuners Prize Ride challenge reward. Whether just for the thrill of going at a breakneck pace, or to take on the GTA casino heist, you need the fastest car to fit the bill.

There is technically a fastest car in GTA, but there's more to think about if you're raring to go including the control and acceleration of each car. You are able to mess around with low grip tyres and stancing, but this is ill-advised outside of drag races. After all, there's no point in having the fastest car in GTA 5 if it spins out every time you approach a corner. The fastest cars tend to come with a pretty hefty price tag, but you can always keep an eye on the weekly podium car in GTA for the chance to win one in the Diamond Casino.

Of course, the fastest car in GTA can be determined by speed itself, but it also depends on what you're using it for. These are our recommendations if you're looking for the overall fastest car and fastest bike in GTA 5, including how to unlock them.

It's all very exciting stuff and if you can't wait until the official release date to experience it for yourself, you should probably check out the Minecraft snapshot betas.

Intel i7 Alder Lake gaming laptop CPU could be 25% faster than AMD equivalent

Intel's Alder Lake desktop processors are already taking the gaming PC scene by storm, but whether or not the blue team holds the gaming CPU crown is up for debate. Thanks to a leaked benchmark for Gigabyte's Aorus 15 YE4 gaming laptop, it looks like the company could be one step closer to the throne, as an upcoming i7-12800H mobile looks to be 25% faster than AMD's equivalent chip.

According to the Geekbench listing, Intel's i7-12800H Alder Lake-P scored 1,654 during single-core tests, putting it 345 points ahead of AMD's Ryzen 5800H. The chip also pulled ahead of the red team's offerings in multicore performance with a score of 9,618, but the fact it wasn't able to surpass the Core i7-12700H means early boost clock issues could be hampering this processor's true abilities.

While the i7-12800H will is probably an impressive piece of kit, its incorrect Geekbench max frequency figure of 28.3GHz suggests the chip isn't running under normal conditions. That said, Intel's new hybrid design has already helped the desktop Alder Lake chips surpass AMD's Zen 3 performance, so perhaps the blue team laptop offerings will naturally follow suit.

Starfield release date – all the latest news on the next Bethesda game

When is the Starfield release date? We now know when we will be playing the first new Bethesda series in 25 years, but it's still a long way off. Regardless, that's still cause enough to scream so loud with excitement that we could be heard in space.

But there's more: Starfield sees the beloved Fallout and Elder Scrolls studio leaving the ground and heading out among, well, the stars - an area of interest I suppose you could call a Starfield. What has the studio found there? That's what we're looking to work out, as the first meteorites filled with information begin to fall from the sky.

Bethesda's online-only title, Fallout 76, disappointed us as much as it did fans of the post-apocalyptic games series. However, in some ways, Starfield is a surer prospect: a single-player game, just like Skyrim and Fallout 4 before it. In other ways it's bolder and stranger - a completely new universe, whereas Fallout and The Elder Scrolls are rooted in decades of established lore, locations, and creatures. Here's everything we know about Starfield.

     Apex Legends devs have

The earliest moments of Apex Legends can feel like a lottery. When you touch down in a contested area at the start of a match, landing near a good weapon can make the difference between you winning a fight and taking that momentum through the game or going straight back to the starting lobby. We've all entered an early scuffle with a P2020 in hand, only to be put down by an L-Star. While Respawn Entertainment believes the early melee is essential for balance, it has "stuff in mind" to tackle the growing list of weapons.

One player took to Twitter to ask Apex Legends associate live balance designer John Larson to remove weapons such as the P2020, 30-30 Repeater, and Bocek Bow to help with loot pool distribution. "You take that back. I care about the Bocek," Larson quips. "We['ve] got stuff in mind. We know we can't keep releasing weapons without considering the health of the loot pool."

Another player floated the idea of giving everyone a P2020 to land with, though it doesn't look like that'll be happening. "This was a hot topic when we were implementing starter kits," Larson says. "I was against it because of how quickly a coordinated team could wipe a solo on a contested drop. It's already a common strat in high-level ranked. The initial gun scramble buys some time for everyone to react."

     Europa Universalis 4 DLC guide

So, you want to know about EU4 DLC? It's almost hard to believe that Europa Universalis IV is eight years old. The grand strategy game's many expansions total well over $200 at full price, and that's just for the major add-ons. Whether you're new to the game and you want to know what's what, or you're a vet looking to top up your collection, we've put together this handy guide to help you pick the expansions that are right for you.

Keep in mind that older Paradox expansions can get discounted anywhere between 25% to 75% off during sales. The longer something has been out, the bigger the discount. This list is in chronological order, so you can probably get the stuff at the top for a couple bucks if you wait for the right moment.

Also note that as of March 2021, there is now a subscription option available for EU4's DLC library, which will net you access to everything for a monthly fee - more on that below. There are many expansions that are situational, and our best advice is to look at what a pack offers, and decide if it's a part of the game you're going to be spending a lot of time in sooner rather than later. If not, it can wait.

Best SMG Warzone: which submachine gun to use in Season 6

When it comes to picking the best SMG in Warzone, there are so many candidates to pick from since the Cold War guns made their way to the battle royale game. Warzone Season 5 Reloaded introduced a number of slight tweaks to the SMGs, but nothing significant enough to push them out of the meta.

For the longest time in Warzone, SMGs weren't very popular as most players favoured assault rifles and the best Warzone guns like the AMAX. While the changes introduced in Season 4 Reloaded primarily affect assault rifles, the balance changes also targeted SMGs by reducing their damage output. These changes hit all of the popular SMGs, including the AK-74u, the Bullfrog, and even the Milano 821.

If you're looking for a long-range option to compliment some of your best Warzone loadouts then here's our guide to the best sniper in Warzone. However, when you reach the final circle or need to cross some close-quarters streets to reach the next zone you'll be grateful you have the best SMG in Warzone.

The final phase of League of Legends' Arcane bash is here

Riot X Arcane - the big, multiple game-spanning event celebrating the debut of League of Legends' animated spin-off show - is still in full swing. So far, we've seen a live global premiere event, new champion skins, Summoner's Rift updates, "new interactive experiences", and more inspired by the series. We've even seen champions and cosmetics make their way to games like Fortnite, PUBG Mobile, and Among Us. Now, the extravaganza's final phase is here with more.

This last stage of the Riot X Arcane event is called Undercity Nights and is live from now until November 20, marking the lead-up to the Netflix show's season finale. For the studio's flagship MOBA game, there'll be the chance to keep unlocking stories through the interactive Council Archives experience, through which players gain insight into Arcane's key characters. In this phase you'll be able to unlock Vi's stories. Alongside this, as of this week you'll get the chance to nab the Arcane Vi skin, which you can earn by playing three games of League of Legends - or by winning one.

Undercity Nights also marks some big changes for the game itself, drawing to a close the end of the 2021 ranked season and ushering in the Preseason 2022 gameplay updates.      The best Call of Duty Vanguard M1928 loadout

Want to know what the best M1928 loadout is in Call of Duty Vanguard? The M1928, also known as the Thompson or Tommy Gun in previous Call of Duty games, is easily one of the best SMGs in Vanguard. At close range, this weapon is capable of taking down enemies very quickly thanks to its fast rate of fire, and it features a drum magazine which packs a whopping 50 bullets per clip.

The downside to using a drum magazine is the weight - it's heavy enough to slow down your movement and reload speed. Compared to the best MP40 loadout, the M1928 is slower, has heavier recoil, and isn't as effective from medium to long range, but we can fix these problems with the right set of attachments.

We're going to take advantage of the M1928's close range capabilities by building a stealth loadout for this SMG. This weapon is perfect for sneaking into buildings, allowing you to slowly eliminate enemies while staying completely invisible on the minimap. Here's everything you need to build the best M1928 loadout in Call of Duty Vanguard.

The simple explanation of Sherlock Holmes Chapter One is a game where you embody the nascent consulting detective, aged 21, returning to Cordona, the Mediterranean island where he spent time as a child. It's a third-person puzzle adventure. You gather the evidence, cross reference it all, and then come to a conclusion on the case. Young Holmes returned to Cordona to find out how his mum died a decade ago, and is helped by his best mate Jon, this season's Creepy Watson. Boy, do they get in some scrapes along the way! Bingo, bango, there's yer preamble.

But the complex explanation is that this game, ironically, defies explanation. As I played, I oscillated wildly between thinking, "This is Frogwares' world and we're all just living in it!" and, "What is even happening, what is this, I need a ten-part documentary series that just follows the developers around because they really have a lot of explaining to do."

Morse, the strategy game that teaches you real morse code to win a war, has come a long way since we first wrote about it in 2015. What started out as a free flash game (and a makeshift telegraph key made out of a clothes peg) now has proper 3D graphics and quite possibly the most impressive custom controller setup I've ever seen. When I played the demo at EGX 2021 last month, not only had creator AlexVSCoding made an entire telegraph machine for the occasion, but he'd also managed to source a pair of headphones from the 1930s to really hammer home the idea of being a wartime telegraph operator.

Obviously, you don't need a pair of 90-year-old headphones to enjoy playing Morse. A modern headset will do just as well. You also don't technically need the telegraph machine either, as there's an onscreen button interface you can click with your mouse. But let me tell you, pressing those morse code buttons in-game wasn't half as immersive as tapping out the commands on a proper dedicated machine, and I wish there was some way Morse could give everyone that experience when it finally launches in full.

It's your typical kinda horror experience - a singleplayer romp making you solve puzzles and linger in horrible places while trying to avoid spooks. You might expect that a second Sker-y game would follow a similar formula. Nope. This weekend, the developers announced Sker Ritual, a co-op shooter in which you'll need to survive an onslaught of ghouls.

Wartales, the next game from Northgard developers Shiro Games, is coming to early access on December 1st. It's an open-world RPG set in a plague-ravaged medieval world, where you'll lead a pack of mercenaries as you all try to survive. I played the demo this summer, and it's good! It's a simple ye olde setting, no magic or wizards, but also has no main quests to bog you down. You're free to follow little story threads as you please, or just exist in the harsh world with your merc pals.

"Sometimes a bit of difficulty can add a lot of replayability, but as of right now there are issues and bugs we've encountered in development that are making it far more difficult than intended," Back 4 Blood developers Turtle Rock Studios have said. The Left 4 Dead-style monster-mashing has become notably more difficult following the big November update, with undesireable consequences, and they laid out plans to remedy it.

Did you know that Black Friday isn't, as any reasonable person would assume, a celebration of West Midlands coal mining country? It's actually a big annual sales event that Americans love so much they spend a whole day giving thanks for it. They have shiny buckle hats and go on pilgrimages to the shops. With so many deals flying about on both sides of the Atlantic, some guidance is called for, so I'm here to be your canary in the coalmine of bargains and help you avoid any turkeys.

Server transfers were introduced to New World last month, letting players boot their characters to a new world. It was implemented as a way to ease queue times in the popular MMORPG, but didn't work completely to plan - it caused a gold duping glitch, and some players have been blocked from transferring altogether. Amazon Games say they're currently working on resolving these blockages, and are planning a second round of server transfers before the year's end, so everyone has a chance to jump worlds.

Grand Theft Auto The Trilogy The Definitive Edition Remaster rockstar games launcher down gta pulled from sale[Update – November 15 @ 12:45 PM ET]: Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition is now available to purchase and play via PC. The Rockstar Games Launcher is also up and operational. Rockstar has confirmed that GTA: The Trilogy was temporarily unavailable to "remove files unintentionally included in these versions."  The original story, published on November 12, is as follows. Yesterday, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition launched. And for console players, things seemed to go rather well (discounting the weird-looking characters). On PC, however, the situation has been far more dour. Last night, the Rockstar Games Launcher went down, and it's been that way for nearly an entire day. Following its collapse, the GTA Trilogy was pulled from sale on Rockstar's store. Things have certainly been better for GTA, so grab a hot coffee and let's dive in. We felt something was amiss yesterday as we tried to get the game running. ...

Outriders New Horizon Update 1People Can Fly and Square Enix announced via an Outriders broadcast that the game is getting new expeditions in an upcoming New Horizon update. Back on August 19, developer People Can Fly shared some light details about what an upcoming patch for the game Outriders will entail. In the middle of the developer's Reddit post, the community manager dropped the name "New Horizon." The manager mentioned that the studio wanted to "focus towards working on and implementing much requested new features and content."   The language used here suggested to many fans that the developer planned to release a brand new expansion to the game that does much more than simply fix bugs and implement gameplay improvements. The assumptions ended up correct. The New Horizon update becomes available on November 16 for free, and it will implement "brand new content, as well as huge improvements and updates to the game." One of the biggest additions for Outriders:...

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One ReviewSherlock Holmes Chapter One might seem like an odd title. After all, it's already the ninth installment in Frogwares' adventure series starring the famous detective. Still, it's more than fitting. The game is actually a look at Sherlock's origin story. In that regard, it's apropos that Sherlock Holmes Chapter One is Frogwares' means of returning to form. However, there were a few minor issues that I experienced while I was reviewing its latest offering. Some were related to combat mechanics, while others focused on the theme of choices and consequences.   Back where it all began Sherlock Holmes Chapter One sees the titular character as a younger man in 1880. After arriving on the Greek island of Cordona, Holmes soon realizes that this place is far from a paradise on the Mediterranean. Indeed, once you're done with a fairly short tutorial explaining a few of the game's mechanics, you're thrust into a web of conspiracies and d...

F1 2021 JeddahF1 2021 launched in July without three of the official calendar's tracks. Developer Codemasters confirmed that it would add these tracks sometime post-release. We got Portimao in September and then later Imola, in October. Finally, the third and final circuit has arrived, with Jeddah being added to F1 2021. Patch 1.13 introduces Jeddah, home of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. It is a fast circuit that offers a mix of the technical aspects typical of a street circuit, and the speed of an old-school Grand Prix track. Jeddah is the second-longest track on the Formula 1 calendar with a full lap coming in at just under four miles. The only circuit that's longer is Belgium's Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.   The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Many of Formula 1's Middle Eastern and Asian races are held at night and Jeddah is no different. This will be the fifth full night race on the F1 Calendar following Singapore, Bahrain, Sakhir, and Qatar. Although, in F1 2021 Jeddah...

Runescape Daily Challenges FeatureDeveloper Jagex Studios has reworked daily challenges in RuneScape. This update aims to make them more rewarding while also tackling some of the previous system's core problems. Moving forward, players will receive three new daily challenges to complete every day. This has been increased from just the one that players could earn before. The old system would assign the player a challenge that was specific to a certain skill. Completing this would reward experience in that skill, equivalent to one Huge Lamp. Now though, rewards provide the equivalent of a Large Lamp instead. But, it works out better overall as up to three rewards a day can be earned.   Completing your dailies Another change made to daily challenges in RuneScape is that it's now cheaper to re-roll them. Previously, 25 Vis Wax was required to do this, but it has been lowered to just 10. Furthermore, extending a daily challenge in order to receive double rewards now costs 30 Vis Wax, down from 50. Extend...
