How to get Pirate coins in Lost Ark

So you want to know how to get Pirate coins in Lost Ark? This is one of the new MMO game's rarer currencies - and one of seven that is stored on a player's account rather than a specific character or Lost Ark server. It has a few uses, largely concerning the more nautical parts of the endgame.

Generally speaking, merchants around the islands accept Pirate coins in lieu of gold or silver, which lets you save those currencies for the auction house. More importantly, you can use Lost Ark pirate coins to enlist crew for your ship, purchase ship upgrades, and purchase upgrade materials. They also have several other uses as well; Pirate coins can be used to purchase a Giant's Heart, a highly sought after item that awards you skill points to improve your Lost Ark class.

The Giant's Heart goes for a whopping 33,000 Pirate coins, so you'll be wanting a lot of them. You also need 16,500 Pirate coins to purchase the Song of Resonance for the Lullaby Island quest. Luckily for you, we're here to give you a hand with this helpful guide on where to find Pirate coins in Lost Ark.

Fallout 76's 2022 roadmap to be revealed this month

You're going to find out what Bethesda has planned for Fallout 76 this year soon enough. The developer has revealed that "exciting plans" are in store and that you'll get a peep at this year's roadmap "a little later this month".

"We know that we've been a little light on announcements in recent weeks, and that's because we're working hard on what's to come," the developer says in a post on its website. "We've got exciting plans in store for Fallout 76 this year, and we can hardly wait to share a look at them with the community in our 2022 roadmap a little later this month."

While Bethesda's plans for Fallout 76 further into the year remain mysterious, the short-term view is pretty clear. Over the coming weeks, you're getting an in-depth look at the Invaders from Beyond update, a preview of Fallout 76 Season 8, and a chonking big Dev Dive Video. The Fasnacht celebrations are also upon us in-game. Head to Helvetia to help the bots with their parade and party preparations by playing the role of security.

League of Legends patch 12.5 notes – Bees! champion skins, Elise VFX update

The updates keep on coming, LoL fans. League of Legends patch 12.4 has made its way to the live Rift, bringing a raft of new skins, champion balance changes, and - of course - steely new Champon Renata Glasc. That means it's now time to see what's headed our way with its follow-up update. While the latest round of skins gave Kassadin, Shen, and Qiyana some dazzling new Shockblade styles, this fortnight's offerings are fare more whimsical. Let's take a look.

The new skins coming with League of Legends patch 12.5 add more champions to the game's Bees! alternate universe, with four new looks on the way. As you'd expect, the names are pun-tastic, with Heimerstinger, Nunu and Beelump, Orbeeanna, and BZZZiggs joining the skin line. You can check out the in-game clips of these in action and their splash art in the skins section below.

As is very often the case when a fresh patch hits the PBE, there aren't any balance changes up for testing just yet, but we can probably expect a bunch to arrive there soon for a test drive. So, keep an eye on these notes as we'll update them with everything you need to know ahead of the patch's launch.

Lost Ark servers – server list, server maintenance, and cross server content

So you want to know about Lost Ark servers? They say the most stressful decision in any MMO game is deciding which character class to pick first, but really it's choosing which server to jump into. This is especially important when you're planning to play a game with friends - you'll want to make sure you're all playing on the same server.

So while you may already know which Lost Ark class you want to try out first, you'll need to nail your server choice. If you are playing with friends, it might be worth sharing the server list with them so you can have a conversation about it. Note that North America is split into two region groupings, and the east coast possesses more server options than the west coast. Europe has the largest selection of servers, and there are a couple of South American server options as well.

We've put together this guide so you can see what the current server list is, how to check your server's status, as well as other commonly asked questions such as whether you can change a character's server and which content can be played across servers. Enjoy!

There's an old chestnut from gaming mythology - you surely know the one - about the movement in Mario's 3D ventures being perfected by Shigeru Miyamoto at their very start with Super Mario 64. Core Design managed the same thing with the original Tomb Raider back in 1996, too. Nobody really talks about it now, while the Mario story endures. Possibly because Nintendo didn't make umpteen identikit sequels over the following decade or splash Mario's stretchy mug on the cover of The Face.

Really though, the Italian plumber and English graverobber were equally confident that if all their moves were available right from the start with no unlocking needed then that was enough. Both games were – are still, after a quarter of a century – the Platonic ideal of their characters. And they had bloody good swimming sections.

Skateboarding sim Session has added a lot in the past two years, but also lost some of its ragdoll charm. Since last year's total physics overhaul, you no longer bail with every failed trick, instead teleporting off your board in a strange, stiff way that saves time but (for me at least) replaces one unrealistic motion with another, less funny one. I want to get that gripe out of the way, because otherwise it's still gunning to be the sim for darksliding anoraks.

The next update will add two new areas, which I got to try out recently, and some new pro skater faces. If you can ignore the frequent wacky physics hiccups and the rigid, nonplussed reaction your character has when they should, by all rights, be landing flat on their face, you'll find a surprisingly chill skating game. It's less about hoarding points with as many tricks as possible and more about pushing languidly around a city as viewed through a seasoned kickflipper's fisheye goggles.
