Call of Duty might be one of the most popular series on the planet, but it's not exactly the kind of game you think of when you picture the Nintendo Switch. So in one way it's very strange to see Microsoft come out tonight and announce a "10-year commitment" to release CoD games on Nintendo platforms, starting with…

England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has made a few handy saves so far at this World Cup, but between waiting around for large parts of a game and then having days between matches, there's a lot of spare time to fill. Which he has duly done by getting an enormous gaming setup shipped over from home.

The good news is that The Witcher 3, already a very good-looking game, is about to get even more good-looking when its next-gen update is released. The bad news is that, for anyone playing the game on PC, loads of your favourite mods from the last seven years aren't going to work anymore.

Destiny 2: what is the Nightfall weapon this week?

Want to know what this week's Destiny 2 Nightfall weapon is? Each week you've got a chance at a different weapon for completing Nightfall Strikes, and ever since Season of the Lost, fan-favourite legacy weapons from the original Destiny have been added to the rotation. New seasons often introduce new weapons into the rotation, so it's more important than ever to know in advance the Nightfall weapon schedule.

In case you don't know what the Destiny 2 Nightfall weapon means, Nightfall: The Ordeal is a playlist available in the Vanguard menu, alongside the basic Strike playlist. Each week, a different Strike is chosen as the Nightfall, and offered in five escalating difficulties, with harder enemies, challenging modifiers, and enemy power levels cranking up.

The coveted Nightfall weapons have a chance to drop from any Nightfall Strike difficulty, but it's far more likely at higher levels. Your best bet for farming each week's Nightfall weapon is to set the Strike to Master difficulty, according to YouTuber Aztecross. You should also note that there's no automatic matchmaking above Hero difficulty, however, so you'll need to get a squad together.

Rainbow Six Siege Solar Raid update invite bugs have been resolved

December 6, 2022 Ubisoft says it's fixed both the squad invite issue and the battle pass tokens and levels issue.

A Rainbow Six Siege update has made it impossible for some players to queue with their friends in the FPS game. The patch that accompanied Operation Solar Raid introduced a bunch of long-awaited new features to Siege, but it appears to have introduced some serious bugs as well. Not only can players not invite friends and squad members and friends to their lobbies, but issues have cropped up with battle pass ranks and last season's ranked charms.

Ixion starts by asking the question "What if Homeworld was a management sim?". It then proceeds to answer that question in a comprehensive and convincing manner. Bulwark Studios' star hopping epic takes the operatic, elegiac grandeur of Relic's RTS classic, but replaces the space battles with a chewy mixture of stellar logistics.

Also like Homeworld, it's a darned stylish thing. The game commences with a spectacular intro cutscene wherein a futuristic space-shuttle launches from Earth, breaking through the atmosphere to dock with a gigantic, revolving space-station like a chromed hubcap off some petrolhead's pride & joy. The cutscene neatly transitions into the play-perspective, where you see that same shuttle slide into the docking bay from the cold void outside. Welcome to the Tiqqun, Administrator. Your long journey starts here.

Early in tonight's Dead Island 2's showcase, a character in a live action segment makes a self-referential joke that live action trailers set unreasonable expectations for video games. Let me tell you now: that is not true. I'd wager the writing and acting will be more believable in the game than in this live action short.

At the showcase's centre of those wasted 15 minutes was, at least, a new viscera-slick trailer of the actual Dead Island 2. So you can watch that below.
