Warhammer 40K: Darktide released on PC late last year, a dark and chunky take on Left 4 Dead set in Games Workshop's grim, distant future. It was OK! Had its problems, but was OK. Those problems have persisted into 2023, though, and so the developers are shelving an Xbox version of the game while they get to work…

Free-to-play online MMO looter shooter Destiny 2, released in 2017, is one of my favorite video games. I play it all the time. I have multiple characters. I own all the recent seasons. It's fantastic. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned for the game's future, as with each passing season, it seems to become…

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide developers Fatshark have announced that they're delaying the co-op horde shooter's seasonal content in order to focus solely on addressing "the feedback that many of you have." That feedback is best witnessed via the recent Darktide Steam reviews, which sit at "Mostly Negative" after 8471 submissions. Specifically, Fatshark say they're going to improve crafting, stability and performance.

The three of them are joining Marina Inoue, Saori Hayami, and Ayane Sakura. They are the voices of the Sailor Starlights, who have come to Earth to search for Princess Kakyu. The announcement includes art of how the characters will look like in Cosmos.

Final Fantasy XIV Payment Methods Change

Square Enix announced changes to the payment methods for purchases made in the Final Fantasy XIV Mog Station, Final Fantasy XIV Online Store, and the Square Enix Account Management sites. Furthermore, some of the current payment methods will no longer be available. This change will go in effect in late February 2023. While Square Enix said that it should not have a big impact on most purchases, the company recommended customers to re-enter their payment method following the change, in order to avoid any possible problems.

Square Enix informed customers through The Lodestone about the changes soon to be made to the payment processor. The new available and unavailable payment methods, starting late February 2023 include the following:

Unavailable Payment Methods:

  • Carte Bleue
  • JCB
  • SEPA (Sofort)

Available Payment Methods:

  • Amazon Pay
  • American Express
  • Discover
  • Mastercard
  • PayPal
  • Paysafecard
  • Visa

Square Enix said that they hope to reintroduce some of the discontinued payment methods in the future, but recommended changing to alternate payment methods in the meantime.

While the changes to the payment processor won't impact customers currently enrolled in a recurring subscription plan, making any future changes to a recurring subscription, or any updates to the payment method will require customers to go through the new payment processor. This will require re-entering the payment method. The current payment processor will be available for a period after the change, but Square Enix recommended updating active subscriptions after the change, in order to avoid any possible problems.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC. Patch 6.31 is now live, and you can check out the patch notes here.

Even more Persona soundtracks are making their way to select streaming services, including Spotify. The Persona Channel official website announced that the soundtracks for Persona 3 Portable, Persona 3 Dancing, Persona 5 Dancing, P3D & P5D Advanced Edition Soundtracks, and the Persona Super Live 2017 are available now on streaming. These five albums join a selection that is already jam-packed with the likes of Persona 5 Royal, and even classics like Persona 2, along with Persona 3 & 4.

The new soundtracks added to streaming services include some special tracks that were previously unavailable, such as "Soul Phrase", the new opening theme included in Persona 3 Portable. Meanwhile, the soundtracks for Persona 3 Dancing and Persona 5 Dancing add new remixes of classic songs.

The "Advanced Edition" of the P3D & P5D soundtracks includes some exclusive tracks such as "Let's Go! Phoenix Ranger Featherman" and "Current Net Price Tanaka (ATLUS Kozuka Remix) feat. President Tanaka," along with some other tracks, which were included in the Persona Dancing games as DLC. Additionally, Ryota Kozuka, the main composer of the Persona Dancing series, created new remixed exclusively for the Advanced Edition soundtrack.

Persona Super Live 2017 is the recording of a live performed at Yokohama in 2017. Because of this, it includes sounds captured during the concert, such as the cheering of the attendants.

In addition, these are not the only good news for the fans of the Persona series. In December 2022, iam8bit announced a new collection of Persona Dancing vinyls that will release in 2023.

FFXIV Heavensward Snow Sculpture

The FFXIV 2018 snow sculpture that featured characters from the Heavensward expansion has appeared in Japanese textbooks. It features a photograph of the artwork, which was installed in Sapporo, Japan. One of the most notable things about the sculpture itself was the light show that would appear semi-regularly. Projections of Nidhogg, Estinien, and the Mother Crystal would be overlayed on top of it. Music from Final Fantasy XIV and its Heavensward expansion would also play. [Thanks, aitaikimochi!]

Impress Watch, the YouTube channel for Japanese games outlet Game Watch, uploaded a video of the sculpture. You can take a look at the FFXIV 2018 Heavensward snow sculpture and watch the display in full, below.

The second Final Fantasy XIV expansion, Heavensward, released to critical acclaim. Following its success, Square Enix offered a free trial to players, which allowed for those participating to play through the expansion. While there are some limitations to the expansion, such as the inability to join Free Companies or use the marketboard, players can reach up to level 60 on all available Job Classes. Occasionally, Square Enix will also have free login campaigns for players whose subs have lapsed.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Shadow Gambit Game Island DocksMimimi Games, the developer known for Desperado III and the Shadow Tactics series, has revealed a new title called Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew. Much like the developer's other titles, Shadow Gambit functions as a tactical stealth game, only this time we have a seafaring pirate theme. Notably, Shadow Gambit marks Mimimi Games' first foray into self-publishing, and it has used this opportunity to "push the Stealth Strategy genre to the next level." If you wish to experience Mimimi Games' newest take on the genre, you will have to wait until it comes out sometime this year. A recent press release has highlighted exactly what Mimimi Games has done to advance the stealth strategy genre and build upon its previous work. First of all, Shadow Gambit ditches the relatively grounded settings of Mimimi's prior games in favor of a full-on fantasy world. This allowed the developers to go all out in terms of the design of the mechanics. Shadow Gambit is...
