Little Nightmares 2 – Creepy Hospital and Mannequins Showcases in Extended Gameplay

little nightmares 2

Tarsier Studios recently released a new trailer for Little Nightmares 2, packing it with numerous frights in time for Halloween. However, it's also received more extensive footage courtesy of other publications like Game Informer. You can check it out below and see Mono attempt to make his way through a very, very creepy hospital.

What makes this hospital so creepy are its so-called "patients." They appear to be little more than mannequins brought back to life, moving in the dark and only freezing when shining a flashlight on them. Lest you think Mono is safe though, various detached limbs can attack as well. And the hospital is littered with them.

Little Nightmares 2 is out in February 2021 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Xbox Series X/S and PS5 versions will launch later next year with free upgrades for current-gen owners. Stay tuned for more details and gameplay footage in the coming months.

PS5's Box Has Instructions for Transferring Data from PS4

ps5

Sony has recently been sending out the PS5 to various media outlets and influencers for pre-release coverage for the next-gen console. Polygon's Samit Sarkar is among several who've received the console, and recently, he shared an interesting detail on Twitter.

Showing images of the PS5's retail box, Sarkar revealed that the console's box has instructions on the bottom for how to transfer your data from a PS4 to your new PS5. You can connect both consoles to the same network, you can connect them with an extended storage drive, or you can simply log in on your PS5 with the same PSN account you use on your PS4.

Sony have made it pretty clear that they want to make the transition from the PS4 to the PS5 much easier and quicker this time for players (their backward compatibility stance definitely doubles down on that), so it's not surprising to see this (not quite) front and center on the box.

With the PS5 now being in the hands of the media, hopefully, new details and hands-on impressions will be coming in soon, so stay tuned to GamingBolt for all of those updates.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars Sold 1.8 Million Digital Units in September, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 Sold 2.8 Million

super mario 3d all-stars

Super Mario 3D All-Stars would have sold like peanuts either way, but it seems Nintendo turning it into a limited-time release has really helped speed up its sales right off the bat. As per a recent report by SuperData, the compilation of 3D Super Mario titles sold 1.8 million digital units worldwide. In the process, it became the biggest digital launch for a Mario game on the Switch, beating New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey, and Super Mario Maker 2.

SuperData also reports that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2which remakes and compiles the first two games in the series, enjoyed an extremely successful launch, selling 2.8 million digital units worldwide in September. It has also outpaced the digital launch sales of previous recent Activision remakes, Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy and Spyro Reignited Trilogy. Activision have previously announced that the game sold over 1 million units within two weeks of launch, becoming the fastest title in the series to get to that mark.

SuperData's report also reveals that Marvel's Avengers sold 2.2 million digital units worldwide in September. Get more details on that through here.

Demon's Souls Reportedly Went Gold Over a Month Ago

Demon's Souls

With Demon's Souls out in less than three weeks, you might be wondering when developers Bluepoint Games will be making the announcement that development on the game has wrapped up. Well, it seems it happened quite a while back. According popular modder and known Souls fanatic Lance McDonald, Demon's Souls went gold over a month ago, on September 24.

Of course, this isn't confirmed yet, but it wouldn't be too much of a stretch. For instance, fellow first party PS5 launch title Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales went gold in early October. If Demon's Souls has gone gold, that means that even though the developers will continue to work on fixes and polishing, principal development on the game is complete. There should be no delays, and any work done by Bluepoint following the game going gold will come in the form of a day one patch.

Meanwhile, McDonald also stated in subsequent tweets that he's seen some small sections of gameplay from Demon's Souls and also been given lots of new information, some of which he proceeded to share. He suggests that gameplay is going to be largely similar to what was shown off in its gameplay debut trailer.

McDonald says that the game still looks like Demon's Souls, but "incredibly beautiful and some bosses are far more disgusting than ever." The camera's positioning has supposedly changed slightly from the gameplay trailer, with the camera being more zoomed out and the player now being in the middle of the screen, similar to the PS3 game. McDonald also adds that based on everything he's seen so far, it doesn't look like the game has any difficulty options.

Demon's Souls is out exclusively for the PS5 on November 12. The game will have different modes prioritizing visuals and performance.

PS4 Titles Are Seemingly Being Patched With Enhancements Ahead of PS5 Launch

ps5

When the PS5 launches this November, it will be able to play all but less than a dozen PS4 games released to date. Many of the games it runs via backward compatibility will also benefit from added boosts and enhancements to leverage the next-gen console's most powerful hardware. And with the PS5's launch right around the corner, it seems Sony have been stealthily releasing new patches for various PS4 games in preparation.

The Last of Us Remastered recently received a patch, following which its load times have been cut down from over a minute to just fourteen seconds, while it seems God of War (2018), God of War 3, and Until Dawn have also received similar updates that cut down load times. Meanwhile, as VGC points out, it seems that Concrete Genie also recently received a new patch.

As per users on ResetEra, the likes of Astro Bot Rescue Mission, Everybody's Golf VR, Marvel's Spider-Man, and PSVR Worlds have also received patches. Meanwhile, we also know that last week Final Fantasy 7 Remake got its first post-launch patch out of the blue.

None of these have been confirmed by Sony as patches that add enhancements for the PS5, but in many cases (such as God of War 3) these patches are suddenly being added in after years of inactivity for those games, which just seems like too much of a coincidence.

We've previously also heard that select PS4 and PS VR games will enjoy boosted frame rates on the PS5, while backward compatible titles will also use some of the new UX features being introduced with the new console.

Sony have been sending out the PS5 to various media outlets and influencers, so hands-on impressions and new details on the console should be coming in soon. Stay tuned for GamingBolt for all the updates.

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Webpage Reveals New Story Details and Screenshots

marvel's spider-man miles morales

We've been seeing plenty of new footage and gameplay from Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales of late, while Insomniac Games have also been revealing plenty of other details on what players can expect from the game when it launches not long from now. Recently, they updated the game's official webpage on the PlayStation site, adding a whole Daily Bugle section to it.

The section reveals various new details within the framework of bits and pieces of Daily Bugle articles, giving details on the aftermath of the previous game's events, talking about Miles' mom's campaign, about Roxxon and the Underground (who will be the bad guys in this story), about the rise of a second Spider-Man, about how Oscorp is reeling from the events of the previous game, and a lot more.

Obviously, it's pretty heavy on spoilers for the previous game, so if you haven't played that yet, you might want to steer clear. If you have played it, these new details set the stage for the upcoming game's story pretty well, so it's worth taking a look. There are also plenty of new screenshots to go along with these details (including one that shows two Spidey suits that were recently revealed), which you can check out in the gallery below.

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales releases on PS5 and PS4 on November 12. The game will also receive a pretty sizeable day one update.

Sony is Sending the PS5 to Media for Reviews and Coverage

ps5

The PS5 is launching in less than a week in some regions of the world, and everywhere else a week after that, and the excitement surrounding its imminent launch is rising by the day. Sony have now detailed everything from the launch lineup to the console's hardware to even the new user interface.

Soon, we will be hearing more about the PS5 and getting hands-on impression of the console and everything to do with it (hopefully). Sony have been sending out the PS5 to various media outlets and personalities, which means early pre-launch impressions will be coming in soon. As you can see from the tweets below, outlets such as GamesRadar, Easy Allies, Kinda Funny, CNET, Washington Post, and Techradar (and The Game Awards producer Geoff Keighley) all have been sent the console.

More details on the console will be coming in over the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned to GamingBolt for all updates.

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Lore – The Full Story of Yuri Watanabe

2018's Marvel's Spider-Man is full of characters, arcs, and stories that set up exciting things for the future, whether that's for new characters to step in or ones we've already seen to change and grow in interesting ways, and perhaps even take on new roles. NYPD cop Yuri Watanabe is likely going to belong in the latter category. Though Yuri isn't exactly the most well known or popular character from the Spider-Man comics (in fact, she's not even among the oldest, having first been introduced a little over ten years ago), she does have a really interesting story, and her portrayal in the game was appropriately solid.

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales is going to focus on Miles' story, and obviously, many big narrative developments will be saved for Marvel's Spider-Man 2, but you never know which threads might end up progressing in what manner in the upcoming game. Yuri is a character that's been associated with Peter Parker, not Miles, so she might not have too much of a role to play just yet- but then again, she might. And in this feature, we'll be recapping her entire story in the 2018 game as we go over the most important details and talk bout what lies ahead for her.

So, some background information first. Yuri's father was a cop, but when she was young, he was imprisoned for taking bribes from the Maggia criminal organization. This was what drove her to join the police force herself, so that she can eventually take down the Maggia criminal organization. By the time Marvel's Spider-Man begins, Yuri has been a cop for a while, and is even a Captain in the force. Her relationship with Spider-Man is also an established on, and she's become the web-slinger's most trusted point of contact in the police department.

As the game begins, we find Yuri and Spider-Man in similar situations- both of have going up against criminal boss Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin, for years, and have been trying to put an end to his activities. Now, years of enmity have built up to a final confrontation, with the NYPD out in force to take Fisk down and put him behind bars once and for all. Initially, Yuri is adamant that this needs to be done completely by the book, and as such, tells Spider-Man to stay away, and help out in other areas of the city where Fisk's thugs are causing distractions with attacks.

Spider-Man obliges, but it doesn't take long for Yuri to realize that she'll need his help taking down Fisk after all. While the Kingpin's goons are holding the cops back and he himself is on the verge of making his escape, Spider-Man manages to take him on in a fight and emerge victorious, defeating him and allowing the police to put him in cuffs. Wilson Fisk's arrest is, as you might imagine, a big win for both Yuri and Spider-Man.

But, of course, as we all know, Spider-Man's Manhattan is never peaceful for too long- there's always a new bad guy around the corner. Not long after Fisk's arrest, a new group known as the Demons – led by Mister Negative – starts seizing the Kingpin's territory, taking over the city bit by bit as it looks for something known as Devil's Breath, a lethal, virulent bioweapon that Oscorp accidentally created while trying to create cures for genetic diseases. Later, it is revealed that the cure was being developed for Harry Osborn- but that's not really crucial right now, so let's move on.

In the coming weeks, Yuri is at the forefront of the NYPD's hunt of the Demons and Mister Negative and their attempts to stop this new bad guy- with Spider-Man, of course. The NYPD suffers its own losses, of course, with Jefferson Davis, the father of Miles Morales, being killed in an attack by the Demons, though Yuri and Spidey continue to work together to track down Mister Negative (or Martin Li, as he's known when he isn't… you know, all negative and stuff).

With the help of Mary Jane Watson, Spider-Man successfully tracks Li down, and then works with Yuri to incarcerate him, sending him to the max security prison known as the Raft. Things, as they often do, quickly go terribly wrong, however. Mister Negative stages a mass breakout from inside the prison, letting loose not only countless inmates, but also several of Spider-Man's greatest enemies, including the likes of Vulture, Scorpion, Rhino, and Electro. All of this is done under the orders of Otto Octavius, or Doctor Octopus.

Spider-Man and Yuri attempt to stop the prison breakout, but they fail to do so. Spidey is beaten quite thoroughly by the aforementioned Sinister Six. The villainous group escapes into New York (as do many other Raft inmates) and steals Devil's Breath, which Doctor Octopus then releases in Times Square, causing a mass breakout and infecting many people in the city. Many people Spider-Man knows are infected in the process, including Aunt May (who eventually dies because of the infection) and Yuri. By the time the game comes to an end, though Spidey has dealt with the Sinister Six, the Raft breakout, and Devil's Breath, he and Yuri both know that there's still work ahead, and the streets of New York City still need cleaning up.

If you were to jump into Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales having finished the first game but not having touched any of the DLC, you'd be surprised by where you might find her story picking up. That's because her character sees some major developments over the course of The City That Never Sleeps- more, perhaps, than any other character across all three episodes.

In the second episode of The City That Never Sleeps, known as Turf Wars, Spider-Man and Yuri go up against Hammerhead. Hammerhead, of course, is a high ranking member of the Maggia crime family, and as such, has a history with Yuri. Throughout her years in the NYPD, Yuri thwarts several Maggia fronts, putting several of the criminal syndicate's members and enforces behind bars. In the process, she attracts attention to herself as well, becoming known to the likes of Hammerhead in the process.

Now, in an effort to put a premature end to a brewing gang war, Yuri and Spider-Man infiltrate one of Hammerhead's bases- but the attack goes horribly wrong, and most of Yuri's team is left dead. Yuri is left enraged, not only demoralized by her defeat, by deeply affected by having to call the families of all the officers who had died to inform them of their deaths. She lashes out by heading to a Maggia bar and brutally beating everyone in there- and continues to let loose from that point on.

At one point, during one of Spider-Man's confrontations with Hammerhead, Yuri shoots the latter in the head (though he doesn't die, being artificially resurrected promptly afterward). Yuri is placed on administrative leave, but she continues to pursue the investigation on her own time. Throughout the course of the DLC, Spidey follows a trailer that tells him that Yuri is hot on the trail of Hammerhead himself, which eventually leads to her killing one of his enforcer's in cold blood.

Yuri and Spidey have one last conversation at this point, with Yuri telling him that though she still believes in the justice system, she doesn't believe it always works the way it needs to, and admits that killing Hammerhead's enforcer made her feel good, because she felt like she was doing something that mattered. Spider-Man tells Yuri to turn herself in, telling her that he doesn't want to have to come after her at some point. Yuri refuses, telling Spidey to do what she has to do, and that she will continue to do the same.

Whenever Yuri returns, Insomniac have clearly laid down the foundations for her to don the persona of Wraith. A relatively new character in Spider-Man (as we mentioned earlier), Wraith isn't exactly an iconic antagonist (or antihero), but clearly, Insomniac are big fans of her. In the comics, she's often been portrayed as someone who continues to go pursue her own justice relentlessly, butting heads against not only the good guys and Spider-Man, but also several of the bad guys as well. The fact that she does so while making use of technology once used by several other Spidey villains – including the Chameleon, Mister Fear, and Mysterio – only makes her cooler.

The only question is- will Yuri return in Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales? If she does, will she have become Wraith by the time the game ends? Will she have already become Wraith in the time that has passed between the two games? Is all of that stuff being saved for the inevitable Marvel's Spider-Man 2? We'll find out soon enough, but either way- we're more than a little excited about where her story is headed.

Sony Has Filed "Soho Engine" Trademark

PlayStation logo

Here's a blast from the past. As spotted by Gematsu over on Twitter, it seems Sony Interactive Entertainment has filed a "Soho Engine" trademark in Europe. If you're thinking that name sounds familiar- you're right. It does.

Team Soho was, of course, the London-based development team that made the PS2 cult classic The GetawayUnfortunately, that was also the last game they developed, before being shut down in 2002 and merged with SCEE Camden (later known as Studio Liverpool, also eventually shut down) and SCEE London (now known as SIE London Studio).

What exactly Soho Engine? It could be anything, honesty. The trademark filing doesn't give us much to go on other than the name itself. The mosr optimistic sort will likely want to believe that it's the engine Sony are using for a surprise The Getaway reboot or sequel. It's possible that its a VR engine being developed by Blood and Truth developers SIE London Studio, who're using the Soho name as sort of a nod.

Hopefully it won't be too long before Sony reveals what the Soho Engine is and what it's being used for. Until then, stay tuned to GamingBolt for more updates.

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Will Have a Sizeable Day One Update

marvel's spider-man miles morales

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales is releasing in a little over two weeks from now, and details and gameplay footage are coming in hot and heavy as we count down the days to its launch. We also have some drier but still interesting details to look at, with the game looking set to receive a pretty sizeable day one update.

As spotted by SP1st, the patch tracking site Orbispatches shows that a 9.2 GB update is primed and ready to go for Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Insomniac could still add to this in the days leading up to launch as they quash more bugs and cram in as many fixes and polishing touches as they can, so the day one update could conceivably end up being bigger than the current 9.2 GB it stands at.

The game itself will require 50 GB of free storage space on your PS5, or 105 GB for the Ultimate Edition, which will also include Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered.

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales will launch for PS5 and PS4 on November 12. Here are all the ways the game is optimized for next-gen hardware.
