Nothing can take you out of an early game like the frustration of not being able to find the deluxe edition bonus items you paid good money for. And likewise, nothing takes the sheen off roleplaying your New World character like being stuck with a silly helmet.
Here's how to hide headgear in New World as well as how you can wear the Woodsman Set Deluxe edition bonus cosmetic.
To find and equip the Woodsman Set in New World, right-click on any piece of chestwear or legwear.

Hello everyone! Today I'm extremely proud to talk about our game, Insurgency: Sandstorm, which is out today on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The second season of The Mandalorian ended on a shocking note, with Boba Fett sitting upon a throne in Jabba the Hutt's palace. While it looked like just another plot thread that The Mandalorian would be chasing, the words "The Book of Boba Fett" appeared on screen, and no one truly knew what to make of them? Would his story continue in a book, as the words imply? Or would his story be a strong focus within the third season of The Mandalorian? Disney quickly announced that The Book of Boba Fett was a new Disney+ series that would hit at the end of 2022, and the third season of The Mandalorian would arrive a year later.
Today, Disney revealed the first episode of The Book of Boba Fett arrives on December 29 on Disney+. The announcement comes with a teaser poster that gives us our first look at the famed bounty hunter's return. He's still perched atop that throne, relaxed and comfortable with the role.
Disney also released this synopsis for the series: "The Book of Boba Fett, a thrilling Star Wars adventure, finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the galaxy's underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate."
It's not much to go on, but it does give us direction and tells us Fennec Shand is likely along for most of the ride. Disney also revealed Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Robert Rodriguez, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson are executive producers.
We all want more of The Mandalorian, especially to see if Luke Skywalker and Grogu are prominent players in it, but we'll first have to sit back and enjoy Boba Fett's push for power. That's not a bad reason to wait.
Are you excited for The Book of Boba Fett? Do you like how actor Temuera Morrison is bringing this character back to life? Let us know in the comments section below.
The role-playing supernatural adventure game Echo Generation is coming just in time for Halloween. The coming-of-age tale of two siblings investigating an alien encounter blasts off to Xbox consoles and PC on October 21.
We last saw Echo Generation during the 2020 Xbox Games Showcase, and it was later playable via a limited-time demo last December. Here's a synopsis. You control Dylan, his little sister, and their friends and pets who spend the summer shooting their own alien movie. Life imitates art when an unknown object crashes into town's cornfields, leading to a series of unfortunate and bizarre events unfolding across town. The adults don't seem to notice, so it's up to the kids to get to the bottom of what's happening. With its nostalgic '80s/'90s vibe, it's hard not to compare Echo Generation's atmosphere to Stranger Things, though the game is much sillier. You fight raccoons wearing workout clothes!
Echo Generation is a traditional turn-based RPG with some commands requiring timed button presses in the vein of the Mario RPGs. You're armed with weapons ranging from hockey sticks to laser pistols. The beautiful voxel art, cool monster designs, and equally quality lighting ups the game's charm. Echo Generation is definitely a looker, and Series X players can enjoy it at 4K resolution and 60 fps.
Look for Echo Generation on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC. It's priced at $24.99 and launches day one on Xbox Game Pass.
Far Cry 6 embraces zany, explosive madness - craft makeshift weapons from collected scraps or grab one of the many "Amigos For Hire" before you set out on another bombastic escapade. We've seen the adorable Dachshund, Chorizo, and his semiaquatic reptilian counterpart, Guapo. But what other animals will help you wage war against Antón Castillo and his militaristic goons? Today, a new companion got a cinematic/gameplay trailer. Meet Chicharrón, the savage rooster!
Titled "Chicharrón Run," Far Cry 6's latest footage gives us a tiny glimpse into the bird's tragic backstory. While lazing away on a beach, Chicharrón is captured and caged. When he finally sees the light of day again, he's forced to trade the soft sands of paradise for the coarse dirt of a cockfighting arena. He eventually escapes – pursued by trigger-happy Yaran soldiers – and finds his calling alongside protagonist Dani and their crew of armed guerrilla revolutionaries. Donning two stylish spike chokers, Chicharrón can tackle his enemies to the ground and … peck them to death? What do you think happens to the guard he attacks in the video above?
Far Cry 6 might be a wild ride, but it's also a tribute to the culture and diversity of Cuba. Narrative director Navid Khavari talked with us about Ubisoft Toronto's boots-on-the-ground approach to staying genuine to the guerrilla philosophy/mentality, "We got to meet with the locals and explore the culture and the diversity, but we also got to talk to actual guerrillas who fought in the revolution there," Khavari said. "There are all sorts of reasons people will join up and fight in a guerilla revolution. Some want to shoot guns and feel that adrenaline kick, while others are looking to do it for the country and for the flag. I think that dynamic was really interesting narratively."
Far Cry 6 launches for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Stadia, PC, and Mac on October 7.
Will you be utilizing Chicharrón's services? Let us know in the comments!
Super Monkey Ball is an incredibly simple idea: poor little monkeys are trapped in air-tight balls. They can probably breathe but it isn't specified, and all you have to do is roll them to the goal. Yet somehow the original two games and the expanded Deluxe compilation managed to take that premise and mould it into one of the greatest games we've ever played. Everything was polished to a shimmering gleam. The stage design, the visual and audio feedback and most importantly how it feels to move in 3D space. Every single one of those points is something the series has severely struggled with since. It's come close to hitting the beats of greatness but more often than not it's hitting incredibly low lows.
How is such a simple idea repeatedly executed so poorly? It all comes down to the engine. Everything worked exactly as you'd expect on GameCube, so much so that finishing the game in a linear fashion is more like the tutorial. The meta of Monkey Ball is exploiting the stages — moving the Monkey in ways the developer likely never even intended. Check out a few speed runs if you haven't before, the things people can do in these games is bananas. This also extends to the party games which may seem like completely different experiences but whether you're playing Billiards or flying through the sky in Monkey Target, the importance of physics and momentum is still at the forefront of the experience.
Nintendo has revealed that, as of March 2021, the Donkey Kong series of games have sold a whopping 65 million units worldwide.
You probably know the story by now, but Donkey Kong was first brought to life by none other than Shigeru Miyamoto back in 1981, when the very first game in the series hit arcades. The game saw Jumpman, who would later go on to become Mario, climbing a construction site to save Pauline from Donkey Kong himself – yes, DK wasn't always the lovable gorilla we see today.
Toy Soldiers HD is an upcoming release that has had a few date changes, and now Accelerate Games & Signal Studios Family has pinned down 21st October for its arrival. It's a re-release of an action / strategy hybrid that has given plenty of players fond memories, with this version throwing in all of the DLC of the original version.
As you can see in the walkthrough video above, it looks like it does a nice job of swapping between strategic views and some first-person action, all with the toy-like vibes you'd expect.
With next month's PlayStation Plus lineup, you can arm yourself with WWII-era weaponry, golf club, or fist and do battle on war-torn frontlines, lush greens or otherworldly realms.

No, you cannot name yourself Jeff Bezos or any variant thereof in Amazon's recently released and incredibly messy Massively Multiplayer Online Colonization Simulator, The New World. This is unsurprising given the extremely fragile egos of the most powerful men on earth.
Live sex cam site Chaturbate recently announced that its streaming platform will now support certain pre-approved video games, and is calling on developers to give their permission to add more to that growing list. Honestly, it was only a matter of time.
When it comes to cool feats in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, you probably think you've seen it all. You've caught the speedrunners and Korok seed completionists. You've seen someone, or perhaps many someones, run essentially naked up to Calamity Ganon's throne and defeat him effortlessly. But hold on there,…
The Steam Deck is sure to be a portable powerhouse, but the gaming PC's capabilities aren't exactly crystal clear. While Valve claims that it'll be "the most powerful gaming handheld in the world", there's still a level of uncertainty attached to its modern gameplay performance. However, thanks to the benchmarking efforts of a dev kit holder, we now have more of an idea of what to expect when it comes to Steam Deck settings and frame rates.
Shared by FreeJoker on the Chinese site 'Ranger', the benchmark test put the Steam Deck through its paces while running Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Doom (2016), Cyberpunk 2077, and Dota 2. Unfortunately, the reviewer fails to mention any specific setting tweaks, but reveals average frame rates for each game with low, medium, and high presets enabled.
Before we dive into the Steam Deck user's findings, you should keep in mind that the dev kit's performance might differ from Valve's finished product. In fact, the whole point of issuing dev kits is to ensure compatibility and performance can be adjusted before the handheld's December launch, so the games subjected to testing during this benchmark could receive updates down the line.
There are currently 41 Genshin Impact characters available, so there's no shortage of candidates for your dream team. But with so many different weapon, elementals, talents, ascension bonuses, and constellations upgrades, finding your favourites can be challenging.
In truth, it is difficult to find a truly bad Genshin Impact character. While base stats and elemental abilities are important, the value of a character also depends on personal playstyle, available weapons and artifacts, and team composition. So don't worry too much if your favourite character is on one of the lower tiers; you can still make it work with our recommended Genshin Impact builds.
In general, being on the highest tiers mean that the character is the best in their role, is not too difficult to build, and performs well regardless of teammates. Being on a lower tier means that there are better alternatives, or the character needs a very specific build or team to shine. Just to note, the characters are not ranked within their own tier, and with that out of the way, let's take a look at our ranking of characters in our Genshin Impact tier list!
Want to know how to get hemp in New World to get fiber and linen? Hemp is a valuable one to gather, and not just for increasing your gathering levels. Hemp can be woven into linen to level up your weaving skill, and the linen can then be used to make clothes and armour. This is a skill you'll use early on, so if you're new to the MMO game, why not check out our New World beginner's guide for some tips to get you started.
Gathering skills are an important part of the game, and you should start leveling them early -you can find out more about this in our New World leveling guide. While you could theoretically go harvest herbs and farm plants to increase your harvesting skill easily, hemp gives you a great amount of early harvesting level experience. You need to increase your harvesting skill significantly to be able to harvest some of the more unusual flora, so it's well worth investing in this skill as soon as possible.
While you could aimlessly wander around the world trying to find the best place to go and gather these tall violet plants, there is one farming location that yields a significant amount of this precious crop. This guide will show you the best New World hemp location.
From competitive multiplayer games to the most niche strategy games, the concept of a 'meta' - a set of optimal choices that bring the most desired outcome - is not new. Sometimes changing up a game's meta is done liberally, but in grand strategy games like Hearts of Iron IV, you can't just throw up a quick fix.
But where there's a will, there's a way, and the developers are finally coming to tear up the old order and bring about a new era for warfare in Hearts of Iron IV. This is something the dev team have been talking about since May, when they first detailed some changes coming to combat, but former game director Dan Lind came back for this week's dev diary to outline some additional changes that are going to bust the status quo wide open.
The WW2 game has had a rather stale combat meta for quite a few years now - known as the 40/20 meta - which relates specifically to how you design combat divisions in terms of their combat width, a key stat when it comes to large-scale formations in battle. On top of the province width changes mentioned earlier in the year, the devs are also changing how combat divisions choose their targets in battle, and how damage is spread.
2020 was a watershed moment for VR gaming, with the release of Half-Life: Alyx and the Valve Index dramatically reshaping discussions on what elements make the best VR games on PC and what the best VR headset to play them on are. These conversations on all things virtual reality may be in for another radical shift as recent reports suggest that it won't be long until the next stage in Valve's vision for VR is revealed.
Through a combination of data mining SteamVR's publicly available branches and months of tracking Valve's patents, YouTuber Brad Lynch has uncovered multiple references to what could be a new standalone VR headset from Valve, codenamed 'Deckard', complete with built-in wireless functionality. ArsTechnica has received further confirmation from its own sources that this information is "legitimate" but doesn't necessarily mean that these products will make it past the development stage.
Lynch's findings suggest that the Deckard headset has the ability to access a new 'Valve internal menu' with new SteamVR options entitled 'prism' and 'standalone system layer.' There's no further details on either of these options but Lynch has also discovered data within SteamVR which could indicate a type of onboard processing built into the headset rather than it sending calls to a gaming PC.
If you felt that Halo Infinite's mouse and keyboard performance was a tad iffy during the recent beta, then chances are you're not alone. The FPS game's community manager has confirmed on Twitter that there are some known issues in the tech preview build, though most of them have already been fixed for the game version that is launching.
The topic of the game's PC performance was initially raised by esports host and caster Alex 'Goldenboy' Mendez, who shared some feedback in a video on Twitter (below), explaining that something just didn't feel right with mouse and keyboard. "There were moments where I would shoot at someone, or I would attempt to no-scope somebody with a sniper, and I would see that even though my aim was right on the player, the bullet just disappeared completely or went in a completely different direction," he says.
That prompted a reply from 343 Industries community manager John Junyszek, who explains that a range of improvements have already been made to ensure PC players have a "first-class experience at launch".
Diablo II: Resurrected is out now. The original was one of the most important games of my childhood, but returning to Tristram feels weird right now, and not just because it's been 21 years. Activision Blizzard faces two separate lawsuits, one alleging years of discrimination and harassment and the other alleging worker intimidation and union-busting, leading to employee walkouts and the departure of several key members of senior staff. A lot has happened so far, and the lawsuits are ongoing. You can follow the latest developments here.
Diablo II: Resurrected also faces pressure from fans burned by Blizzard's last remaster, Warcraft III: Reforged, which sprung a number of nasty surprises on players at its launch early last year. (The original Diablo II is still available on the Battle.Net store at the time of writing, so that's something.) With all this in mind, how does Resurrected's modern take on this iconic RPG game fare?
This remaster at the very least feels like the original; everything fits like a glove as I pursue the Dark Wanderer who is unleashing the forces of Hell on the people of Tristram. The same seven classes are still available, but old habits die hard, and for most of my time in Resurrected I stick with my aptly named old favourite, the Necromancer.
Trying to find New World briar branches? The magical island of Aeternum is home to unusual monsters and strange inhabitants. Some of these inhabitants give out quests asking for very specific items; in this case we need to find briar branches. If you aren't careful, you may spend most of your time wandering aimlessly as some resources can only be found in specific locations. Once you know where to look, you'll be swimming in briar branches.
Jumping into a new MMO for the first time is always exciting, though things can start to feel overwhelming as there are a lot of mechanics to take in. Be sure to read our New World beginner's guide which provides helpful advice for the early stages of the game. If you're planning on journeying through New World with friends, you should check out our guide beforehand to ensure you're able to pair up from the very beginning.
The briar plants drop numerous items, including briar branches, thorny vines, buds, and firefly bait. Let's not beat around the briar bush - here's where to find briar branches in New World.
Last month, Microsoft Flight Simulator developer Asobo Studio revealed that a new series of crafts would be heading to the simulation game as part of a series called 'Local Legends'. This celebrates aircrafts that are famous in the sim's World Update-related regions but not as well known elsewhere, and today the first of the series has landed (hah): the Junkers JU-52.
This classic aircraft has been introduced to the flight sim to complement its recently launched World Update IV, which focuses on Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The Junkers JU-52 is a German plane dating back to 1930 which is "lovingly called 'Tante JU' or 'Aunt JU' in its home country. To give simmers a flavour of the new plane, the devs have shared a clip of it in action, which you can check out below.
To recreate it, MFS head Jorg Neumann explains in a blog post that the devs "scanned the entire plane with a high-resolution digital scanner to achieve an extremely high level of detail and accuracy", so it sounds like what you see - and fly - should be a faithful rendition of the real thing.
Want to know what the best Sara builds are in Genshin Impact? Kujou Sara is an Electro four-star bow user and has joined the game as part of the first banner in the Genshin Impact 2.1 update. You can find out more about her abilities by checking out our Genshin Impact Sara banner release date guide.
Also part of 2.1's first banner is Raiden Shogun, or Baal as she is otherwise known, is the five-star character coming to the same banner. Kokomi, the Hydro healer, was added to the game in the second banner as part of the 2.1 update. If you're looking for builds for characters from the 2.0 update - we have builds for Ayaka, Yoimiya, and Sayu.
The 2.1 update is stacked with all sorts of new stuff, including a couple of new Inazuma islands to explore, fishing, and even the game's first tie-in character: Aloy from the Horizon Zero Dawn, though PC players will have to wait until the 2.2 update to unlock her. In the meantime, we'll go over two of the best Genshin Impact Sara builds - one focused on her battery potential and one for using her as a DPS.
How do you join a Faction or a Company in New World? Amazon's new MMO New World features both PvP and PvE gameplay, and even though it is theoretically possible to go it alone and still enjoy some of the features, joining up with other players is a lot more fun. The complex social heirarchies of New World are divided up into Factions and Companies — two separate, but linked, types of player organisation. It can all be a bit confusing, though, so below we've laid out the difference between them, as well as how to join a Faction or Company.
The co-host of the UK's best video games TV show is becoming the host of its most beloved one, as Channel 4 have named Robert Florence lead host of their rebooted GamesMaster. You know, Rab from VideoGaiden and Consolevania, and from BBC Scotland sketch show Burnistoun, and from RPS board games column Cardboard Children. Honestly, he's a great shout. But no, he's not going to be the actual GamesMaster.
Ill-fated co-op superhero game Marvel's Avengers comes to Xbox Game Pass tomorrow. The live service action-RPG first launched in September last year to an overwhelmingly "meh" reaction from players, but if you were curious about it, at least now you don't need to pay full price to try it out.
Even though you can't play as Jeff Bezos, Amazon Game Studios' MMO New World is proving popular. So popular, in fact, that some players are apparently willing to queue for hours if it means joining their preferred server. If you find yourself waiting to get to the front of the line, why not kill time efficiently by reading this guide to New World's best settings? Despite some light-looking system requirements, New World can hammer your hardware in certain areas, and even if you own one of the best graphics cards it's worth knowing which settings to tone down in exchange for those morish frames per second.
Will Wright, the legendary designer behind games from SimCity to The Sims, has opened up about his mysterious new game. It's named Proxi, and it's some sort of world-building AI simulation game inspired by "how the brain stores memories". Normally news on a new Will Wright game would be cause for celebration but ah jeez he's fallen for NFTs, oh no.
In the world of books, John Carter and Ian Fleming are two massive names. The former has been a well-known character for decades, while the latter is known for creating one of the most illustrious series in all of entertainment, James Bond. Thanks to the upcoming video game John Carter: Warlord of Mars, the two […]
Cinematic puzzle platformers are enjoyable from time to time. I don't go out of my way to play them regularly, but I'm more than happy to indulge when I spot something creative. A Juggler's Tale doesn't necessarily do much differently from a gameplay perspective, but it does have some surprisingly fresh ideas that make it stand out in a crowded field. It can be quite frustrating at times, but I'm glad I got the chance to spend a couple of hours going through its story, even if I'll continue to begrudge it for a couple of awful segments. A Juggler's Tale is presented as a story told by a puppeteer during a puppet show. The curtains open on the story of Abby, a young girl who is enslaved by a local circus owner because of her ability to juggle. She's allowed to perform in a show alongside a bear named Urs, but then she's locked in a small cage. It's, uh, really grim. But it doesn't take long for Abby to make a break for...
As a general rule, I don't care much for tower defense games. The Last Friend is a combination tower defense and beat 'em up, set on multiple lanes like Guardian Heroes or Streets of Fury. Well, those are just beat 'em ups, but you get the point. I didn't expect to get much out of the game and, while it's often too easy and I wish it had some options for tough post-game play, I got a lot of enjoyment out of this one. The combat's great, the abilities are fun, and the visuals are cute, adding up to an enjoyable experience, even if you're not crazy about dogs. The Last Friend puts you in the shoes of Alpha, a guy with a beard that's good at punching things in the head. While traveling in an RV with his partner, a chihuahua named T. Juan, they decide to go about rescuing dogs. There's a plot here about a madman trying to destroy the world so that it can be a doggie paradise, but it's not all that important. Regardless, the dia...
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season Five introduced new content for the Zombies game mode. However, fans have been looking forward to Season Six for the arrival of the final round based Zombies map. Now, we do not have to wait much longer, and Treyarch has revealed some details of the new map. The first chapter of the Black Ops Cold War Dark Aether story will be wrapped up on the new Zombies map, Forsaken. The Black Ops Cold War Zombies storyline has taken us to an abandoned Nazi facility with Die Maschine, an Omega Group outpost with Firebase Z, and to the streets of Berlin with Mauer Der Toten. Now, Forsaken is expected to bring each part of the story together. This has been described as a ultimate showdown between Requiem and Omega Group. Finishing what we started on the Black Ops Cold War Forsaken map In Season Five, Zombies fans learned that Requiem has plans to understand the powers that Maxis has developed while being in the Dark Aether. At the same time, Requiem a...

Genshin Impact players are making their thoughts known to developer miHoYo for the handling of the game's first anniversary, and it's not a pretty sight. From review bombs to community creator criticism, it seems players have their sights set on the developer of Genshin Impact. That's because, for the game's first anniversary, miHoYo did… not a lot. In terms of giveaways, miHoYo is giving away ten free pulls (not a lot in the grand scheme of things, and it pales in comparison to the game's Lantern Rite Festival event). Additionally, miHoYo is hosting a web event where players can watch animations regarding their personal history with the game, such as how many slimes they killed. While miHoYo is hosting some other web events, these are controversial at best. Community rage There were a wide range of expectations leading up to the game's anniversary, ranging from more free pulls to just simple anniversary acknowledgment. However, in a...

These two first-person shooters have been redone with enhanced visuals thanks to the efforts from Saber Interactive....
If a genie ever appeared to grant me three wishes, I would not hesitate. I would not be selfish by asking for more wishes or focus on my own well-being. No, I would think of you all when I said, "Mr. Genie, I want you to eliminate all Elves from MMOs, preferably via boiling acid. […]
Crafting in Final Fantasy XIV is going to change a fair bit when Endwalker arrives, but maybe you missed the most recent live letter and were a bit confused by the topic of our column this week. I have a strange history with Guild Wars 2. I fell hard for the pre-launch hype, and when it finally arrived, I loved it and played heavily… for a couple weeks. Then I lost interest, feeling aimless in a game where I wasn't invested in the story or the world. I've poked my head in […]

Founded 13 years ago, GOG.com is celebrating with the release of more classic games along with a big sale.
A fan of classic games? Well you're in luck with Elvira: Mistress of the Dark and Elvira II: The Jaws of Cerberus now available on GOG with Linux packages ready to install (it uses DOSBox). The popular classic Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain is also now on GOG but only has a Windows version so you will need to use Wine. Nice to see even more older games getting a new life, which is a big reason why I like GOG when they work with publishers to make it happen.
For the big sale they have a single big 13th birthday list full of titles, plus members of the GOG team also curated their own lists which you can find on the GOG homepage.
Tons of great deals. If you spot any you think are really worth going for, do let us know in the comments. For some quick picks we can easily suggest:
Watch out - the Kaiju are approaching the city! And come 2022 the team at Klabater will ensure players on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC feel the need to scramble the jets, deploy the tanks, and evacuate their HQ, as it'll be then when the 2D turn-based strategy of Kaiju Wars hits home.

Testing of the 2.2 update for Genshin Impact has begun. As usual, testers gain access to the servers by agreeing to a strict NDA. Of course, the testers immediately started leaking captivating information. So a lot of things are already known about it. New characters such as Thoma are joining the roster, and the final...
