| PCGamesN Thu Oct 14 09:35:40 UTC 2021 | | Blizzard Entertainment has pushed out a patch to try and fix Diablo 2: Resurrected's server and character deletion issues. Community manager PezRadar posted the patch notes to the game's forum on October 12, before confirming that the update had made its way to PC last night (October 13). The notes are a tad spartan, but they get the job done. The team has made general improvements to character deletion to "help users from accidentally deleting their characters". The devs have also made oodles of improvements to stability and performance, like fixing crashes that could occur if you launched the game with no existing setting file on PC, or used the legacy toggle after an extended play session. The update also introduces stability improvements in the effects system and on game shutdown, alongside other minor crash and stability fixes. Looking at the game's subreddit, it seems a few people are still reporting incidents of game crashes. One player's game crashed during the Pandemonium Event after they spent one week grinding for nine keys to open the three portals. | PCGamesN Thu Oct 14 09:03:45 UTC 2021 | | The nights grow darker and the air chillier as we make our way towards the end of League of Legends' 2021 patch schedule. League of Legends patch 11.20 has sailed onto the MOBA game's live battlegrounds and its follow-up has now hit the PBE for its fortnight of testing. So, let's see what's in store for League of Legends patch 11.21, shall we? If you've been keeping a close eye on League's Twitter channels, you've probably had an early peek at the batch of new skins headed its way with 11.21. This patch is all about the Dragonmancer alternate universe, with new styles for Kai'Sa, Karma, Thresh, Volibear, and Yasuo on the way. The latter two are particularly special, with Volibear getting a Prestige Edition, while Yasuo's two skins are legendary variants, bringing new voiceovers, as well as new animations, VFX, SFX, and more. You can check all of these out in the New Champion Skins section below. Elsewhere, we've got a VFX update coming up for The Dark Sovereign, Syndra with 11.21. "Similar to the previous VFX updates we've made in the past (Ziggs, Zilean, Malzahar, etc), we're working on updates to the visual effects (VFX) of champions whose spell effects are in need of some love," senior visual effects artist Riot Sirhaian explains. "Our aim is to get their VFXs to current League standards and improve gameplay clarity. This time, it's Syndra's turn, for 11.21's PBE patch!" | PCGamesN Thu Oct 14 08:43:22 UTC 2021 | | Halo: The Master Chief Collection Season 8 has landed, and with it comes the launch of modding tools for Halo 2 and Halo 3. Developer 343 Industries has unveiled the new tools that have just come to Steam for the two classic FPS games, some of which might be familiar to those who have modded Halo games before, while one "entirely new", advanced-level program is designed to "make modding Halo even easier". This news comes from a Steam blog post, in which the studio offers a pretty in-depth outline of the brand-new modding tools now available for the MCC's Halo 2 and 3, as well as an update that's just rolled out for the Halo: Combat Evolved tools. You can either download these as their own standalone DLC packs on Steam or install them via the games in your Steam library. Within the toolkit, you'll find several programs that are accessible to all players: Guerilla, Sapien, Tool, and Standalone, though there are a few additional bits and pieces, too. The first of these, Guerilla, is for editing the values of game content - that is, the files collectively known as "tags", which are for AI, bipeds, textures (AKA bitmaps), and so on. This bit of the toolkit lets you "update and alter" these aspects. RELATED LINKS: Halo: The Master Chief Collection Steam, Halo: The Master Chief Collection mods, Best FPS games |
