PCGamesN Sunday, May 22, 2022 12:34 PM  While the fighting game's alpha is still going on, a number of possible new MultiVersus leaks datamined from the game's files seem to point towards Rick and Morty, Black Adam, and even LeBron James for the fighter roster - including the infamous Pickle Rick. MultiVersus could be one of the best games like Smash Bros on PC when it hits open beta in July, and many are enjoying the alpha playtest going on right now. Some players have dug around in the alpha's files and have datamined a number of possible new characters coming to the MultiVersus fighter roster (via Reddit). Names on the list include both Rick and Morty, Gandalf, LeBron James, Marvin the Martian, and Gremlins' Gizmo and Stripe as the character leaks, with the likes of Godzilla, Scooby-Doo, Legolas, Black Adam, Beetlejuice, and The Joker appearing in the leaked taunts list. Some of these have been leaked in some fashion before - including the inclusion of Pickle Rick as an unlockable skin for Rick Sanchez. |
PCGamesN Sunday, May 22, 2022 11:32 AM  Less than a month after going live in the RPG game, a player has hit max level 99 on Diablo II: Resurrected Ladder Season 1 on Hardcore difficulty - the permadeath mode. This is just two weeks after a player became the world's first to reach max level in the competitive multiplayer's standard difficulty - after a week of grinding. Last month's Diablo II: Resurrected 2.4 update finally introduced a ranked Ladder system for competitive multiplayer, and since then, players have been pushing to be the first to hit maximum level 99 on the leaderboard. Teo1904 did it on standard difficulty earlier this month, and now it looks like player EazyE has done it on Hardcore permadeath difficulty. While there sadly isn't a stream of EazyE - otherwise known as EazyDuzIT_LIFTY - hitting level 99, you can check out portions of the adventure on Twitch. At the very least, the leaderboard confirms that EazyE is the first player to reach this milestone on Hardcore. PCGamesN Sunday, May 22, 2022 10:19 AM  According to a datamine, there was nearly an Elden Ring weapon and armour degradation system similar to durability in the Dark Souls series - and it may have been removed quite late in development, as the open-world game seems to have several hints towards it. The Dark Souls games have a system called durability which allows weapons and armour to become gradually more ineffective and eventually broken completely over time. Elden Ring launched without such a system, which is probably for the best, given that Dark Souls 2 durability was tied to fps on PC and so was completely messed up. However, according to Soulslike game dataminer JesterPatches on Twitter, Elden Ring once seemed to have a durability system of some type. After digging through the fantasy game's files, they found references to weapons and armour being "broken" or "at risk" - presumably pop-up alert messages for when it happened, judging by the other things on the list. PCGamesN Sunday, May 22, 2022 7:55 AM  Players report that a frustrating new Lost Ark cursor bug is affecting the MMO game and can be game-breaking, particularly when undertaking the new legion raid that got added to the fantasy game as part of the May update. As reported by aggravated players this week on the Lost Ark bug forums and on Reddit, this new bug - which doesn't seem to have been present previously, so most likely arrived in the recent May update - basically causes items such as health potions to get stuck to the mouse pointer. This isn't just a cosmetic problem, unfortunately, as it stops playing from clicking on anything too. Players suggest the primary bug fix for this problem is either to reload or move to a new area, such as by teleporting - unfortunately, this doesn't help anyone taking on the Valtan boss in the May update's big new Lost Ark legion raid. If the bug hits, players are stuck in the battle with no way to escape or help fight Valtan. This is the way friendships are lost. PCGamesN Sunday, May 22, 2022 6:50 AM  The new Vampire Survivors patch 0.6.0 notes are here, with all the details on the update for the roguelike game due tomorrow - well, most of them anyway. The notes confirm new Vampire Survivors power-ups and a bonus stage, and the teaser reveals a clock weapon, an in-game merchant... and something weird about to invade. The 0.6.0 update for the vampire game is due to release Monday, May 23, and the patch notes are now available on the Vampire Survivors Discord. As any fans will have realised by now, the patch notes are deliberately dry and non-specific, so "1 new weapon" could turn out to be swarms of angry cats. Developer Poncle confirms an additional stage, two new Arcana abilities, another rank to the 'Skip' power-up, and "1 relic to access 2 minor gameplay mechanics". There's a lot unsaid here, despite Poncle suggesting the patch will have "less content than usual" as they prepare for the bigger update 0.7. They also say one of the new mechanics is for people "who simply enjoy playing the game even when there's nothing left to unlock". KAngel's moving on... to a new platform, with Needy Streamer Overload on the Nintendo Switch. The game's Switch port is slated for an October 27, 2022 release. It will cost 4378 JPY ($34.23) for the physical copy, and 2640 JPY ($20.65) for the digital one. As well, the physical version of the game will come with a first edition bonus of an art book and a soundtrack. Ame's goal is to get a million subscribers in 31 days, and you are the one to help her do that. You can tell Ame what to do every day, as well as what content to stream. The game does deal with heavy themes such as mental illness and self harm. As of March 2022, the Steam version of the game reached over 300,000 sales. During the Indie Live Expo, it was revealed that this number is now up to 400,000. Needy Streamer Overload will release on the Nintendo Switch in Japan on October 27, 2022. Kodansha will release an encyclopedia teaching children about the real-life animals that appear in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. This is a part of the Kodansha's Moving Encyclopedia 'MOVE' series of books. It combines pictures in the book with videos in a DVD to introduce and explain its topics. [Thanks, Dengeki Online!] The Animal Crossing: New Horizons encyclopedia will introduce all 235 species of insects, sea creatures, fish, and fossils that appear in the game. Like other MOVE encyclopedias, the New Horizons book will come with a DVD, as well as a poster of the animal life on the island. Blathers and the Villager will pop up throughout the book to give more details as well. Not only does the encyclopedia explain the non-fiction aspect of these species, it will also give information on where and when you can find them in-game. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is Japan's best-selling video game, even surpassing the NES version of Super Mario Bros. Aside from the game itself, there is plenty of physical merchandise for fans to collect and own. There are toys of the villagers, for example, as well as comics that are set in the New Horizons continuity. The Animal Crossing: New Horizons encyclopedia from Kodansha will come out on July 29, 2022. It will only be available in Japanese. The book will cost 2,530 JPY, which is approximately $19.80. The English version of Fate/Grand Order will re-run the Las Vegas Championship Match - Seven Duels of Swordbeauties event from May 23 to June 12, 2022. Those who did obtain the Saber version of Katsushika Hokusai when this event first launched will have a second chance this year. For those who did, you will get Rare Prisms every time you receive a new copy. The basic premise of the Fate/Grand Order Las Vegas event is that Hokusai wants to challenge various Swordbeauties in Las Vegas. Her goal is to be the strongest of them all. Unfortunately, this version of Hokusai is younger than her usual self. This means that she does not quite have the skill or experience to back up her boasts. For those who played the story last year, each farming quest still offers plenty of prizes such as QP and ascension materials. This may provide an incentive for some to play through it again. While the swimsuit versions of female Servants are available for a limited time in the gacha as separate units, the males' swimsuits are Spiritron Dresses you can unlock. You can obtain outfits for Siegfried, Merlin, and Kotarou during this event. As well, while the event is going on, you can pull for the swimsuit versions of Osakabehime, Musashi, Carmilla, Okita, Meltlilith, and Artoria. Fate/Grand Order is available on mobile devices.
