Genshin Impact events – all current and upcoming events

Want to know more about the upcoming Genshin Impact events? A new version of Genshin Impact arrives every six weeks, complete with new characters, quests, and events. It's difficult to keep track of which events are currently running and if there are any new ones coming soon, so here's a schedule for all current and upcoming Genshin Impact events.

There are usually a number of Genshin Impact events running simultaneously, and they aren't just in-game events. When a new Genshin Impact character joins the game, the devs launch a web event at the same time - players learn about the latest characters through an interactive story told through a web browser. The rewards for completing different events range from in-game items like primogems and mora, to real life prizes like mouse mats and plushies.

Just like the Genshin Impact banners, most events are only available for a limited time, so it's worth participating as soon as you can. New events are usually added to Genshin Impact after an update, but it's worth keeping an eye out on this page as the devs do like to surprise the community.

Rise of the Ronin

The recent Sony State of Play broadcast brought a new announcement by Koei Tecmo and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty developer Team Ninja: Rise of the Ronin. The new game promises to be an open-world samurai-themed action-RPG set in the twilight of the samurai era. It's also a PS5 console exclusive, though its release window is set for sometime in 2024.

Check out the trailer below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3pBm_TNDTo

Rise of the Ronin is set in 1863, during the Bakumatsu, the historical period of upheaval that brought about the end of the Tokugawa Shogunate. The player controls a ronin, an unaligned samurai navigating the tensions between the competing factions in an as yet unidentified part of Japan. Some factions are beginning to embrace the influence of western powers and modernization, while others try to preserve order by expelling foreign influence. The player character is shown exploring on horseback, engaging in combat with swords, rifles, polearms, and even pistols. He defeats some enemies with elaborate executions, and is also seen performing stealthy kills and flying with a glider. In some ways it seemed closer to an Assassin's Creed or Ghost of Tsushima style of game than Nioh or Ninja Gaiden.

Check out some screenshots from the trailer.

The trailer didn't give clear insight into the actual structure of the game, but the game is said to be "combat focused" open-world title. In a post on the PlayStation Blog Team Ninja President Fumihiko Yasuda called Rise of the Ronin "the most ambitious and challenging project to date" for Team Ninja, but that it would be guided by their experience making samurai and ninja action titles. The game will have a "multilayered story" that "showcases the world of the Bakumatsu and the revolution that took place." Yasuda promised that players would be able to make choices and have them matter, as well.

Rise of the Ronin is in development as a console exclusive for PS5, with a 2024 release window. A Team Ninja game that's a bit closer to release, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, will be playable at the Tokyo Game Show.

New Bandai Namco game Synduality

Bandai Namco revealed a new third-person mecha shooter game titled Synduality at the September 2022 State of Play. This new game will have the player pilot a customizable mech called Cradle Coffin while being accompanied by an AI partner called Magus.

The company describes Synduality as a PvPvE game. In a world where a poisonous rain forced humanity to live underground, players will have their own missions to gather AO Crystals by exploring the terrestrial surface and fending off hostile creatures. However, other players may also spawn on the same map and even fight against each other if their objectives clash.

Shortly after State of Play ended, Bandai Namco published its own website and trailer for Synduality. The new game will appear on not only PlayStation 5 but also Xbox Series X|S and PC. In addition, the company will hold a live stream dedicated to Synduality on the last day of Tokyo Game Show on September 18, 2022. This stream will fit into the mystery slot that Bandai Namco had in its TGS 2022 itinerary.

Through a new post on PlayStation.Blog, the game's producer Yosuke Futami revealed that the Gundam series' mechanical designer Ippei Gyoubu will design the Cradle Coffin mechs. Meanwhile, artist Neco will work on the character designs.

Synduality will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam in 2023.

Kenshiro in Fitness Boxing Fist of the North Star

The Nintendo Switch will have a new fitness game where people can train with Kenshiro and other characters from Fist of the North Star. The September 2022 Nintendo Direct stream revealed Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star. As the title implies, this game will have characters from the classic manga series, with a focus on the title's protagonist Kenshiro.

The fitness game will have Daily and Free training sessions where Kenshiro acts as an instructor for the player. However, the Fist of the North Star edition will also add a new Battle Mode. The player will embody Kenshiro as he tries to fight thugs that ruin other people's lives in the post-apocalyptic world. This mode will also feature boss fights against the series' notable rivals, such as Jagi and Raoh.

Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star appeared on both the Japanese and American Nintendo Direct streams. However, Imagineer also published a new website and trailer dedicated to the game. While the website is also available in English, this title will be known in Japan as Fit Boxing: Hokuto no Ken - Omae wa Mou Yaseteiru. The additional subtitle is a reference to the famous "You are already dead" quote, which translates to "You are already losing weight."

Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star will be available for Nintendo Switch in Japan on December 22, 2022, and in North America in March 2023.
