The 10th anniversary of the Bravely Default series falls in October 2022, and Square Enix is celebrating it with the announcement of an art exhibition in Japan. The Bravely Default 10th Anniversary Exhibition will take place on the 8th floor of Yurakucho Marui department store in Tokyo, Japan. The exhibition will be open for a limited time on December 2-18, 2022. The exhibition will feature more than 200 pieces of art from Akihiko Yoshida and Naoki Ikushima, as well as setting and plot documents made for the series. It will cover assets from all Bravely titles released to date; from the first Bravely Default to Bravely Second and even to the latest Bravely Default II. The venue will also include art from other titles by Tomoya Asano's team in Square Enix's Creative Business Unit II Division 6. Visitors will need a ticket to enter the venue. The on-site tickets will cost 1,600 yen, but visitors can also get them at a reduced price of 1,200 yen by purchasing them before the event begins. The organizer will allow elementary school students and younger children to enter the venue for free. The Bravely Default series began with Bravely Default: Flying Fairy, which appeared for Nintendo 3DS exclusively in Japan on October 11, 2012. The first Bravely Default title that Square Enix released worldwide came in late 2013 and was an enhanced version of the first game, titled Bravely Default: For the Sequel in Japan. The series' latest entry, Bravely Default II, came out simultaneously worldwide for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam in 2021. The first soldiers will not be the last ones standing, it seems. Square Enix has announced that it is ending service for Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier in early 2023. The announcement was relayed via the game's official Twitter account and the official website. In it, the development team announced that the FFVII: The First Soldier shutdown is scheduled for January 11, 2023. The game first launched on November 17, 2021, putting the end of service just over a year after its launch. Until the shutdown, players with existing supplies of Shinra Credits can use them as they please. On November 1st, 2022, the game will cease support for Non-English languages, with text displaying exclusively in English. The team also promised that the game will see further updates in the three months left before service ends. Going by the example of other announced mobile game shutdowns, that likely means that Square Enix will rerun limited-time events, activate planned events in the calendar (such as the upcoming Halloween event), or distribute free goodies and giveaways for the remaining players. FFVII: The First Soldier was a multiplayer-oriented battle royale-style game with up to 75 players in a single match. It was set 18 years before the events of Final Fantasy VII. Players took on the role of candidates for Shinra's SOLDIER program, competing in battle to prove their worth to the company. Players scrambled around large battlefields inspired by locations from Final Fantasy VII's game world obtaining firearms, melee weapons, and materia for spells. There was also a "style" system that determined a character's melee weapon and special skills and traits. For example, Warriors could use a sword and charge an enemy to quickly approach them. Dragoons gained the classic Jump ability and used spears. Monetization came in the form of cosmetic skin purchases and draws via a gacha system. The Japanese singer Takanori "T.M. Revolution" Nishikawa will have an S.H. Figuarts action figure modeled after himself. Bandai has published a new webpage commemorating the special collaboration. It shows how the singer visited the company earlier in 2022 to have a CG model of his body made. Bandai will use the body model to create an action figure with an approximate height of 6 inches. It also teased that the S.H. Figuarts figure will have a costume from one of T.M. Revolution's popular songs. The company will publish more details about the latter in mid-November 2022. T.M. Revolution is the stage name that Takanori Nishikawa took when he began his solo career in 1996. The singer became famous for performing theme songs for franchises like Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and Sengoku Basara. In recent years, Nishikawa has been using his own name more often in his newer songs, such as the Fate/Extra Last Encore opening "Bright Burning Shout" and the Edens Zero opening "Eden through the rough." S.H. Figuarts is a series of character and superhero-based action figures released by Bandai. The lineup usually consists of tokusatsu and Western superheroes like Kamen Rider, Ultraman, and Marvel. However, it also includes characters from manga and anime titles, such as Dragon Ball, Naruto, and Spy x Family. Bandai will reveal more information about the T.M. Revolution S.H. "The 108's Halloween Rebellion ~ Little Dragon Lady's Water Margin Romance" has started in FGO, but only on the Japanese server. Available Servants in the banner include SSR Assassin Huyan Zhuo and SR Rider Huang Feihu. Both of these characters originated from the Chinese epic Water Margin. Completing the event will net you a free Pretender. Toridamono, the character designer for the Atelier Ryza series, designed the Assassin of Mt. Liang, or Huyan Zhuo. Huyan Zhuo's voice actress is Manaka Iwami, who also provides the voices for Bridget in Guilty Gear Strive and Amber in Genshin Impact. Huyan Zhuo's Noble Phantasm, Empousa Chain Tempest, deals Quick DMG to all enemies and has a bonus against the Evil attribute. There is also a low chance of her stunning the enemies. You tend to go from NPC to NPC, accepting or returning quests, or gathering more information. Sometimes you'll chat up a shopkeeper, other times a king. There are a lot of spoken lines of dialogue in franchises like The Elder Scrolls or Fallout, but Starfield is set to eclipse both. In a Q&A video, Game Director Todd Howard revealed how chatty folks in Starfield will be, as well as revealing the persuasion system used in said conversations. So, how much dialogue are we talking in Starfield? Well, if you happened to read the headline, that number is over 250,000 spoken lines. For reference, Bethesda Game Studio's last major RPG release, Fallout 4, contained more than 111,000 lines of spoken dialogue. Skyrim, on the other hand, had more than 60,000. No, the reason behind the grimdark shooter's push out of 2022 was because developer The Astronauts wanted to add open-world combat to Witchfire. I'll admit, that's a new one to me. Witchfire, as described when it was re-announced, was designed with arena-style shooting in mind — but no more. Instead, the Polish studio wanted to, well, test some boundaries. Witchfire will be delayed to 2023 so the studio can swap to open-world combat. And it's almost done. What makes matters worse is that the game failed to please fans who wanted a return to form. Now it looks like Volition is tackling at least one of these issues by releasing a big November update for Saints Row. Saints Row's November update is set to arrive late in the month with over "200 bug fixes and stability upgrades" for the game. The fixes will mostly focus on stability and co-op issues. These have been two of the biggest problem areas for Saints Row, so it's good that they may finally be dealt with. This likely won't be the end of the line for updates, though.
