While your memories of the original Final Fantasy VII may be almost entirely fond, let it not be forgotten that to get the game looking that nice on older PCs concessions had to be made. Like most sections of the game running at a dreadful 15 frames per second.

Blizzard outlines culture changes, promises game announcements after Microsoft deal

Microsoft is set to buy Activision Blizzard in what's likely to be the biggest deal in the history of the industry - assuming it all meets regulatory approval, of course. But amid scrutiny from both employees and players, the Blizzard side of the business has just provided a broad blog post outlining some plans for cultural change, while taking the opportunity to promise "exciting announcements" for games next week.

Blizzard boss Mike Ybarra says that the company knows "we need to deliver content to our players on a more regular basis and innovate both in and beyond our existing games. We have some exciting things to announce, and I'll be sharing more next week." BlizzCon Online had previously been scheduled for early 2022, but the convention was put on indefinite hold in the wake of the lawsuit.

Ybarra spends the bulk of the post outlining plans for some structural change at Blizzard. Executives will now have their compensation tied to improvements in company culture, and Ybarra says that the company has added new positions like a culture leader, an organisational leader for HR, and a diversity, equity, and inclusion specialist focused on tracking improvements. Ybarra also details additional processes for employees to express concerns to management.

Nebuchadnezzar, the Mesopotamian city builder, gets a huge update next month

It's party time in the Fertile Crescent, or it's about to be, anyway. Mesopotamia-themed city-building game Nebuchadnezzar is about to see its long-awaited 1.3 update, which the developers have revealed will arrive February 16. With it comes an impressive list of new features and systems that will make building the biggest temple in the land a lot more interesting.

One of the major new systems coming to Nebuchadnezzar with the 1.3 update is dieties. Your city will have a patron god, and you'll be able to select up to three more for your citizens to worship. Each one comes with a set of associated bonuses, but the strength of those bonuses will depend on your city's relationship with the appropriate god. In all, developer Nepos Games says there will be more than 40 to choose from.

So, how do you maintain your relationship with the local pantheon? For that, you'll want to hold festivals - another new mechanic arriving in update 1.3. Festivals are held by spending goods, which you'll pick from a new menu. The quality and variety of the goods you select for use at the festival determine the festival's level, which in turn determines how happy it makes the god in whose name it's being held.

     There's

BioWare has been offering occasional bits of info on the as-yet-untitled fourth Dragon Age game, but don't take that to mean that we'll get a release date this year. Multiple reliable insiders have reported that the new Dragon Age is not arriving in 2022, and is in fact more likely to launch late in 2023.

"A source with knowledge of EA's plans has said there's 'no chance' that Dragon Age 4 will release in 2022," freelance writer Tom Henderson says in a tweet. (Henderson is known for Battlefield leaks, and more recently revealed Quantic Dream's Star Wars game months ahead of its official announcement.)

Henderson's report has been backed up by journalist Jeff Grubb, who reiterates his earlier reporting on Dragon Age's 2023 release plans, saying that the game is at least a full year away. A summer 2023 release "is the earliest possible timeframe for the launch of Dragon Age 4, and even that is a vague hope more than a real target." Grubb says there's been no delay to the game, and "EA has long known that BioWare wasn't getting it ready for 2022".

Hitman 3's Year Two patch notes have arrived

Hitman 3 year two is officially here, which means a massive update has been deployed for the open-world game about tracking down and snuffing the world's greasiest entrepreneurs. The update, as we've reported, includes full VR support for every PC version of the game, as well as a new game mode and a raft of bug fixes.

Hitman 3 in VR supports every World of Assassination level, including all of the settings from both Hitman and Hitman 2. I/O Interactive says that if you have access to a level in Hitman 3, you can now play it in VR on PC - it's that simple. That'll work regardless of the version you're playing - the original Epic Games Store version, the newly launched Steam version, or the Hitman Trilogy edition available on Game Pass and the Microsoft Store.

There's a new game mode as well, called Elusive Target Arcade. Today, January 20, three new arcade contracts are available in Hitman 3, each one corresponding to one of the three World of Assassination games. Each contract includes three missions, and if you succeed in them all, you'll be able to reset and play it again. Otherwise, you'll be locked out for 12 hours. All in all, you'll be able to try 11 past elusive target missions in this initial batch.

Expeditions: Rome will not be affected

A month ago, the founders of Logic Artists - the studio behind the Expeditions series, including the newly-released Expeditions: Rome - announced that they had raised $5 million USD to build blockchain games at a new company called Dynasty Studios. A report from VentureBeat suggests that, following the launch of Rome, "Logic Artists will wind down and its staff will join Dynasty Studios".

Responding to concerns from fans on the official Steam forums, the community manager of publisher THQ Nordic says that "nothing of this will affect Rome or THQ Nordic in any shape or form, not now or in any future plans that there may be". A member of the Expeditions: Rome development team adds that "not everyone who worked on Expeditions: Rome will join Dynasty," and notes that "the Expeditions series has been owned by THQ Nordic since before Rome began development. The creation of Dynasty will not affect the support of Rome nor the DLC plans."

THQ Nordic picked up the rights to the Expeditions IP in 2018, which at the time included Conquistador, Vikings, and a then-unannounced third game that was entering development in collaboration between the publisher and Logic Artists.

Midnight Ghost Hunt is a hilarious mix of Ghostbusters and prop hunt

How does one become a paranormal investigator anyway? It's a question that's bouncing around in my head as I sit in Midnight Ghost Hunt's version of the Ectomobile, flanked by seasoned ghost hunters. I know I'm about to face off against a team of poltergeist players, but as my teammates survey their high-tech gadgets I can't help feeling like I've blagged my way into a very serious job I know nothing about. However, after spending an hour with developer Vaulted Sky Games' supernatural shooter, I think I'm ready to leave this games journalism business lark behind and take up ghost hunting full-time.

The premise is simple: playing as a hunter, your job is to locate and exterminate some antagonistic apparitions. The ghosts don't want that. Their goal is to kill the hunters, and they can hide inside inanimate objects around the level to get the jump on unsuspecting players. After learning this I spend most of the first match taking paranoid potshots at every teapot, lamp, and side table that looks at me funny. Just like one of those ghost-hunting TV shows, each gameplay session kicks off with a spot of paranormal investigation, which eventually builds to a chaotic crescendo when the clock strikes midnight.

If the match gets to this point, the roles of predator and prey are reversed, so the hunters will need to hunker down and wait to be rescued, while the ghosts are imbued with a ghoulish red glow and increased strength and resilience. Put it this way, if Midnight Ghost Hunt was a horror movie, you can be sure that nobody would be left alive by the end credits.

Genshin Impact Yae Miko materials: all ascension materials

Looking for Yae Miko's ascension materials? According to rumours about the Genshin Impact 2.5 update, Yae Miko, the elegant Guuji of the Grand Narukami Shrine, is going to be one of the new Genshin Impact characters on an upcoming Genshin Impact banner.

Although she's still in development and her skills are constantly being tweaked on the 2.5 beta server, players have uncovered plenty of early information about the pink-haired kitsune maiden. This includes her abilities, constellations, and passives ahead of the Yae Miko banner release date. As a result, we have a list of the required ascension materials for Yae Miko, which you'll need in order to unlock additional abilities.

As these materials take a long time to accumulate, many players are stockpiling them in anticipation of pulling Yae Miko when her banner arrives. It's important to note that in order to ascend a character, you must meet the required adventure rank and character level, too. We've put together a list of all the Yae Miko materials for ascension, and how to obtain them. As this information is based on beta testing, be aware that it may change so even if you prepare everything in this list there's no guarantee the requirements will be the same come release.

Panic. Panic at the museum reception desk, as the astronaut suit I have belatedly possessed is set upon by a four-strong team of ghost busters. We're in the opening seconds of the round and only 20 minutes into my Midnight Ghost Hunt hands-on preview, which means I've yet to figure out important concepts like 'where the hunters spawn in', or nuances like 'this button lets me hide in props' as opposed to 'this button telekinetically waggles props about like ectoplasmic dinner bells'. As ghosts we're supposed to mostly stay schtum for the five minutes it takes to reach midnight, at which point we get to both metaphorically and literally flip the tables on the living. Instead: panic.

Daemon X Machina Free Epic Games StoreWhat's better than a free game? That's right, a free game that's also kind of new. Really big emphasis on the kind of for this one. Daemon X Machina launched on Switch in September of 2019, before coming to Steam some months later in February of 2020. It's a fast, flashy, anime-esque mech game that I enjoyed a fair amount back when I reviewed it. However, the game is now coming to the Epic Games Store. On top of that, and much more surprising, is that the game will be the EGS free game of the week when it relaunches. Set your calendars for January 27, which is a week from today. Daemon X Machina will be free for the taking as soon as the current game, mind-bogglingly clever puzzle game Relicta, is done hogging the spotlight.      Windjammers 2 Review 1It's not often that nearly 30-year-old arcade games randomly get sequels, but that's exactly what happened with Windjammers 2. The original, made for Neo Geo arcade setups by powerhouse Data East, came out in 1994, answering the question of "what if Pong, but sports game?" Now, Dotemu has released a sequel. The gameplay and presentation are undoubtedly impressive. Responsive, colorful, and pointedly unique, there's a worthy follow-up to the original game here. But, at the same time, the game is missing some features that would really help to make it a knockout. I've also been having repeated issues with the online on launch day, making this event less sparkling than it could have been. To put the premise simply, Windjammers 2 is human air hockey. Two people throw a frisbee back and forth, aiming for their opponent's goal. Goals are typically divided between easier-to-hit, three-point sections and smaller five-point sections. By default, 15 p...

Midnight Ghost Hunt Hands On Preview 1We first got word of Midnight Ghost Hunt way back in June of 2019, sending a chill of excitement up our spines. Its developer, Vaulted Sky Games, was looking to recharge the ghost-hunting and prop-hunting genres — at pretty much the same time. One could describe Midnight Ghost Hunt as a Ghostbusters-meets-PropHunt game, and that's not far off the mark. The game has received alpha and beta tests, but I hadn't tried my hand at it until just recently. I was able to jump in for a hands-on preview of Midnight Ghost Hunt, and had a spooky good time. Midnight Ghost Hunt is a team-based, four-on-four multiplayer game. It sees a group of weapon- and gadget-wielding hunters facing off against some feisty poltergeists. But don't think that the game paces itself like Phasmophobia; the heavily armed hunters are on the clock, and only have until midnight to clean house.   The conceit is in the game's name. Hunters have until midnight to discover and subdue the g...

Hunt: Showdown gets a patch next week to help with recent performance issues

Hunt: Showdown players have been noticing some odd hiccups in the PvPvE multiplayer game recently. Over the past few weeks, Hunt players have complained of performance issues and other strange bugs, such as full compounds not loading in - but the developers say they're hard at work on tracking these down, and an initial patch will be out next week.

The next update for Hunt: Showdown, version 1.7.2, should release on PC next week, Crytek says, as long as everything goes according to plan. The developers say it's a "tentative fix" for some of the most commonly encountered issues players have seen: FPS drops, stuttering, and an overall loss of performance in-game. Some of this seems to be connected to the Steam overlay, as players have theorised, but Crytek says it's still looking into the issue.

The stranger bug is the issue with compounds not loading into the map. If you're not a Hunt player, compounds are the built-up areas that serve as the game's important landmarks - they're where most of the action goes down, since that's where clues and bosses tend to spawn.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga devs confirm April launch amid reports of crunch

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is finally due to release this April, nearly three years after it was originally announced. An extensive trailer breaks down the new gameplay features in what's billed as "the biggest Lego videogame yet", but today also brings more troubling allegations of crunch and poor working conditions at developer TT Games.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is set to launch on April 5, 2022 across PC, Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation consoles. New features in the upcoming PC game include a bigger focus on space travel and combat, and more precise controls with a combo system and precision aiming options for ranged characters. (The game's also adding a 'mumble mode' cheat that lets you replace cutscene voices with gibberish dialogue in the style of older Lego games.)

There have been numerous delays for the new Lego Star Wars over the past couple of years, and according to a report from Polygon, those delays have done little to alleviate "extensive crunch" at the studio. Citing interviews with over 20 current and former developers, the report alleges that employees have often been asked to work over 80 hours, six days a week during crunch periods.

AMD RDNA 3 GPUs – release date, price, specs, and benchmarks

It's 2022, and AMD plans to paint your gaming PC red with its next-generation AMD RDNA 3 GPUs and Zen 4 CPUs. The new Radeon pixel pushers will likely rank amongst the best graphics cards available, but they'll face stiff competition from the likes of Nvidia's GeForce RTX 4000 and Intel's Arc Alchemist product stacks.

RDNA 3 graphics cards will undoubtedly offer greater performance than the current RDNA 2 based Radeon RX 6000 series, AMD FSR's lack of AI-enhancement could prove to be a weak point in the company's arsenal. Intel XeSS aims to boost fps and deliver image quality akin to Nvidia DLSS across all GPU brands, which could see it push out AMD FSR entirely.

On the bright side, AMD CEO Lisa Su reckons RDNA 3 shouldn't be as affected by the ongoing chip shortage to the same degree graphics cards have been for the past two years.

A Minecraft player is rebuilding the entire Genshin Impact map

While we've seen Genshin Impact fans recreate the odd spot or location in Minecraft, you'll rarely see someone take on the entire ruddy map. That's just what one player is doing, though, and the results are pretty marvellous.

晨曦Archi initially posted a video showcasing their work to Chinese video sharing platform Bilibili, though someone brought it to Reddit (below) with the author's permission. Alongside some high-energy music, you can see the builder's recreations of old and new Mondstadt, the Dawn Winery, Dragonspine, Liyue Harbour, and much more.

As ever, it's the more minor details that stand out. 晨曦Archi has nailed Mondstadt's cathedral while you'll see through the floating lanterns that Chihu Rock in Liyue is celebrating the Lantern Rite festival. While the prominent locations are impressive, some of the neater details come between them. Journeying from Mondstadt to Liyue typically takes you through the Wangshu Inn, Jaeyun Karst, and Huanguang Stone Forest in the game - all of which have been beautifully recreated here, too.

Cold War RTS Warno has launched in Early Access

Pop in a Scorpions cassette and crank up the volume, because Cold War RTS game Warno has arrived in Early Access on Steam. It's missing some core features that make for some of its key selling points, but there's enough here to get a sense of how developer Eugen Systems has gone about marrying concepts from its Wargame series with its newer Steel Division games' format.

Set in a slightly divergent 1989, Warno has you commanding either NATO or Warsaw Pact forces in a hypothetical Cold War-gone-hot situation in the Fulda Gap region of Germany. While Eugen says more units will be arriving over the course of Early Access, at launch Warno gives you access to two pre-made battlegroups and their associated units. There's the American 3rd Armored Division and the Soviet 79th Guards Tank Division.

You can only play skirmish mode for now - the Army General campaigns will be added at a later date. At launch, Warno has four maps to pick from: Chemical, Death Row, Two Ways, and Danger Hills. These can support battles ranging from 1v1 to 4v4, and you can either fight against and alongside AI or play co-op or head-to-head against human opponents.

Epic's next free game is a post-apocalyptic action shooter with mechs

It's Thursday, and you know what that means – another round of free PC games from the Epic Games Store. This week, you can grab the physics-based puzzle game Relicta, and as ever, Epic has revealed next week's freebie, too.

Daemon x Machina is a post-apocalyptic action game where you pilot chonking big mechs to defend humanity from corrupted machines and gigantic robots. You'll be able to grab it from the usual Epic Games Store promotion page on Thursday, January 27 at 8am PST / 11am EST / 4pm GMT. It'll be there for one full week, at which point it'll be replaced by another freebie. As always, you'll 'purchase' the game at a price of zero dollars, and it'll remain in your library just like any game you might pay money for.

Daemon x Machina features "frenetic, high-stakes mech combat against corrupted machines and gargantuan Colossal Immortals". You can customise your mech with a variety of weapons and parts that you salvage from those defeated on the battlefield. You can also customise your own pilot, and team up with others in online co-op if you don't fancy taking to the fight alone.

     Fortnite NPC locations

Want to know where the Fortnite NPCs are? Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 is now live. NPCs aren't as vital for completing challenges as in previous seasons. However, they still offer items that you can buy with Fortnite gold bars, or you can hire them to assist you in the match to get that sweet taste of victory and perhaps even a Fortnite victory crown.

Finding these NPCs can come in handy, particularly if you're stuck finding items for some of the season challenges. If, for example, you need Klomberries to throw at a Fortnite Klombo you can always visit Haven who sells that item, instead of hunting for Klomberry bushes.

With each update, these NPCs are at risk of moving around, so you may find that a character you need is no longer where you left them. Others will appear in different locations in every match. We have every Fortnite NPC location marked on a map to help you find them, as well as a list of all of the special items you can buy.

Call of Duty Vanguard and Warzone Season 2 release date – everything we know

Want to know more about Call of Duty Vanguard and Warzone Season 2? Although Vanguard and Warzone Pacific had a strong start, the first season of content couldn't match up to the community's expectations. Powerful weapons were added to both games, including the Cooper Carbine and Welgun, but the highly requested balance changes didn't arrive until the 1.5 mid-season update.

Warzone Pacific's Vanguard Royale mode only uses weapons from the WW2 game, so new guns usually shake up the meta in a big way. The battle royale game has a number of issues right now, prompting the developers to apologise for the number of bugs on Twitter. Call of Duty seasons usually contain plenty of bug fixes, so there's a good chance a lot of the glaring issues are dealt with when Season 2 launches.

On top of all of that content, there are rumours about a new Dark Aether map coming to Zombies mode. The hints point towards players heading to Egypt, and that lines up perfectly with the datamined multiplayer maps. Here's everything you need to know about Call of Duty Vanguard and Warzone Season 2.

Hitman 3 Steam release time – here's when Agent 47 arrives

It's an exciting time for Hitman fans. In a recent livestream chock-full of details about the year ahead for Agent 47, IO Interactive revealed that Hitman 3 - as well as the brand-new Hitman Trilogy - is coming to Steam, and soon. The studio announced the big day as January 20, but now we've got the exact time, too.

IOI has revealed that the Hitman 3 Steam release time is 10am PT / 1pm EST / 6pm GMT / 7pm CET. The studio shared the information in a tweet that also reminds fans of the download size (you'll need 65GB of space freed up on your PC), and gives players details on how to carry over their Hitman 2 progression.

"Hitman 3 is the final game in the World of Assassination trilogy," IOI explains in the post (sob). "All Hitman 2 players have the option of performing a one-time carryover of their progression, allowing them to start Hitman 3 with their existing profile, XP, suits, items, and unlocks." It's worth noting that the process the studio's linked to above doesn't let you import your locations from Hitman 2 - this is handled through the new Access Pass.

Monster Hunter Rise comes to PC, gets Thomas the Tank Engine mod

It was only a matter of time. When limited-time console exclusives come to PC they're often swiftly hit with the modding treatment. The Final Fantasy 7 remaster's sombre tone was lightened up by the sight of Cloud in a pretty dress confronting a clowned-up Sephiroth, and, boy, the less said about whatever happened to God of War's Kratos here the better. Now, though, it's Monster Hunter Rise's turn.

UberGrainy's Thomas the Tank Engine mod on Nexus Mods takes the game's wolf-like palamute and turns them into the well-known train. More specifically, the modder explains that the mod works by replacing the golden retriever's layered or sinister armour. As ever, it's worth noting that this mod isn't endorsed by Mattel.

Monster Hunter Rise has got several mods since it came to our humble platform, though most of them are quality-of-life tweaks. At the time of writing, the most popular mods involve making monsters' health bar visible and other handy additions.

Genshin Impact Yae Miko release date, banner, and abilities

Looking for more information about Genshin Impact's Yae Miko release date? Yae Miko is one of the upcoming new Genshin Impact characters, who should appear as you progress through the Inazuma storyline.

She's the chief priest - the Guuji - of the Grand Narukami Shrine on Mt. Yougou, Narukami Island - the biggest shrine in Inazuma. In an official tweet from Mihoyo celebrating the 2020 New Year, it was revealed that  Ayaka was Yae's first guest of the year at the shrine. Like the rest of Inazuma, it's clear that Yae Miko is heavily inspired by Japan, as Miko means 'shrine maiden' in Japanese.

According to Mihoyo's description of Yae Miko, "her elegant and beautiful appearance belies an intelligent and cunning personality. She is a lady who is not easy to predict and has her own principles and methods of doing things". Players have been patiently waiting for the Yae Miko release date ever since she was first introduced, and according to information from the Genshin Impact 2.5 beta, the kitsune lady may be playable very soon. However, the following information is based on unconfirmed reports, and beta information is liable to change before release.

Genshin Impact events – all current and upcoming events

Want to know more about the upcoming Genshin Impact events? A new version of Genshin Impact arrives every six weeks, complete with new characters, quests, and events. It's difficult to keep track of which events are currently running and if there are any new ones coming soon, so here's a schedule for all current and upcoming Genshin Impact events.

Genshin Impact has a number of events running simultaneously, and they aren't just in-game events. When a new Genshin Impact character joins the game, the devs launch a web event at the same time - players learn about the latest characters through an interactive story told through a web browser. The rewards for completing different events range from in-game items like primogems and mora, to real life prizes like mouse mats and plushies.

Just like the Genshin Impact banners, most events are only available for a limited time, so it's worth participating as soon as you can. New events are usually added to Genshin Impact after an update, but it's worth keeping an eye out on this page as the devs do like to surprise the community.

     New World devs say to

Earlier this month, New World developer Amazon Games pushed a whole bunch of changes to the MMORPG's public testing realm (PTR) for fans to test-drive ahead of the next major patch. Among a bunch of balance changes and updates, there's a significant new feature coming that'll shake up endgame combat called Expedition Mutators - and it sounds like this is something the devs want to introduce even more of in the future.

"We love variety!" world experience lead Mike Willette tells us. "There are a ton of different MMOs, roguelikes, and action-adventure games that inspired our first steps in developing Mutators. We wanted ways to challenge players and give them awesome rewards. We developed layers of challenges through the many afflictions, family types, and abilities offered in the game. Each one needs to be dealt with differently, requires better gear and teamwork, and gives better rewards!"

For context, Expedition Mutators are essentially modifiers that add some variety by "augmenting 'normal' and 'named' enemies found within Expeditions, changing the way encounters play out and what strategies players should consider before battle", as Amazon initially explained. Unique combinations of Expeditions and Mutations rotate each week, and players battle their way up a ladder of difficulty, up to the top encounters which should be "extremely difficult".

Best Warzone Pacific loadout drop: top setups for Season 1 Reloaded

On the lookout for the best Warzone Pacific loadout? The first mid-season update to Call of Duty's popular battle royale game is here, introducing a new weapon, new playlists, and most importantly, balance changes. There were a lot of small tweaks to the Vanguard weapons, though there was nothing in particular to drastically change the meta in a big way.

Despite the plentiful ground loot in Caldera's hot zones, you'll want a reliable build to help you take out the opposition as you try to outrun the encroaching gas cloud. Using create-a-class loadouts from Vanguard's multiplayer mode in Warzone, you can customise your weapons with the best Warzone attachments, tactical equipment, and perks.

Our best Warzone Pacific setups differ from our favourite builds for Vanguard's multiplayer mode as they're optimised for Caldera's vast environments. Not only do the weapons in Warzone Pacific feature tweaked stats, we also have to take into consideration Warzone's armour plates and the additional player count. We've used our extensive knowledge of Warzone to pass on our victory prowess to you - use our best loadouts for Warzone Pacific to dominate the competition.

GTA Online's weekly update brings another new vehicle from The Contract

It's Thursday, GTA fans, and you know what that means. GTA Online's weekly update is here, and while Rockstar Games hasn't put the official notes on the Newswire just yet, players have dipped into Los Santos to see what's new this week.

The significant new addition this time is a fresh set of wheels. The Obey I-Wagen is now available to purchase from Southern San Andreas Super Autos for $1,720,000 in-game currency. Rockstar introduced the electric four-door mid-size crossover SUV to GTA Online as part of The Contract update, so you may have seen it already if you've been doing some work for Franklin.

If you're looking to raise some dosh this week, though, you'll want to keep an eye out for Simeon's contact missions as they're paying out triple the usual rewards. Meanwhile, the South Central Leak investigation mission and Hardest Target adversary mode pay double the bonuses if you fancy a change of pace. The former is one of the missions from The Contract update, while the latter is a two-team mode where one member from each team starts with more armour.

GTA 6 release date: everything we know about the new GTA

When is the GTA 6 release date? Considering it's been eight years since GTA V was released and a sixth game is little more than rumours at this point, it's hard to say. The usual rule of thumb used to be that Rockstar released new entries to the GTA franchise every four or five years - but by that logic GTA 6 should have released four years ago, so that's out the window.

The year is now 2022, and Grand Theft Auto 6 still hasn't been announced yet. We're very much hoping for some GTA 6 news soon though, as our insatiable appetite for biting satire and a good carjacking knows no bounds. The previous Grand Theft Auto game was almost inconceivably massive and entertaining. GTA V's sales numbers are off the charts, too, and player numbers remain impressive which might explain why the next game is taking so long to emerge. Rockstar has little need to hurry.

While we wait, we've rounded up all the latest GTA 6 rumours in one place with our suggestions for what we'd like to see, no matter what form the new Grand Theft Auto ends up taking. Below you'll find everything we know about GTA 6.

     Hitman 3 system requirements

You'll want to act fast and make sure your gaming PC meets the Hitman 3 system requirements, as it's coming to both Steam and PC Game Pass today! We reckon it's one of the best games of 2021, and Agent 47's latest outing is set to reach new heights in 2022 with the game's ongoing Year 2 update.

All three games in the Hitman trilogy can now be played in VR, but there are a host of other visual and performance improvements coming to the game's Glacier engine as well. Ray traced reflections and shadows are due to arrive "later in 2022", and we can only hope this means we'll be able to see our target's faces reflecting perfectly on 47's shiny head.

Hitman 3 will be one of the first games to support Intel XeSS upscaling technology, as well as Nvidia DLSS. Both of these solutions should help to boost fps, but it remains to be seen which solution provides superior image quality. Variable rate shading will also alleviate your GPU's workload when it eventually arrives.

We also have some great diversions and some opening chat about the time my friend was a real life suspect in a murder for a few days. Dunno if you've noticed, but there's been a whole lot of news lately. Too much news in fact. Growing up, we barely had any news. There was just one bit of news that we'd all have to share. A man would drive around our village with the news in the back of his van, and we'd all come out of our houses to watch as he slid open the doors and pointed at it, saying "well, here is the news". And it was the same news, every day. The news about the hole in the ozone layer. And it was all the news we needed.

Not For Broadcast puts you in charge of all of the news. Set in an alternate timeline 1980s Britain in which an authoritarian far-left party has swept to power on a wave of populist policies, it casts the player as the lens through which the nation will view its new government. Seated in front of a bank of glowing screens, sliders and controls, you have the enviable power to switch between four live camera feeds, bleep out naughty words (and later subversive opinion), choose which ads to run during the break, and select which images are highlighted on screen during each news story.

Ah, to be good with plants. Apparently it was a thing, wasn't it, that my generation all got into house plants, especially during lockdown. A friend of mine has a positively ebullient front room full of lush, green darlings that have names like Hercules. My brother-in-law, absent any real space, has mounted glass spheres of water on his wall and grows little flowers and trailing vines from them. I, on the other hand, am a plant killer. Apart from in Strange Horticulture, when I run a spooky and ethereal plant shop in a town called Undermere, in an alternate-universe version of The Lake District. There, my plants are happy and weird, and with them I can save the world.

Strategy games set in space are almost innately ambitious. The very concept of doing anything meaningful in an infinite void, let alone making it playable and entertaining, is a challenging one, and for every game that reaches for the stars there are countless kinds of... spiraling chaos orbitals.

Between its design flaws and unique ideas with semi-brilliant execution, the 2010 4X/wargame/economic/management simulation Distant Worlds: Universe has straddled those two experiences for a decade. It's needed a sequel for a long time. Distant Worlds 2 is that sequel, and it's almost upon us. Last week I attended a live demo and Q&A session with its producer and co-designer Erik Rutkins. With only a hands-off demo to go on I obviously can't say for sure how it plays yet, but it's already looking very promising.

10df452589a2bf0182cbe577c63bf221a47c2d2dValve's Steam Deck is close to releasing, and now, there's more information regarding its compatibility with different titles. The big question on everyone's minds at the moment is how many games will officially be supported on the device. Fortunately, we're starting to see a range of titles that are seemingly compatible with the Steam Deck. First spotted by Reddit user Cool-Arrival-2617, SteamDB users can now see which games have passed the 'Deck Verified' program, as well as the titles that haven't. Until now, there hasn't been a clear consensus on how many titles we can expect to see be 'Verified' on the device. As of writing, there are 67 games that have been confirmed as either fully compatible, or not supported. It isn't a very extensive list by any means, but it's a start and a good way to see whether the Steam Deck has any value for you. After all, if it can't play the games you want to play, what&...

Warzone Pacific Mg42 ClassThe first season of Call of Duty: Vanguard saw the launch of Warzone Pacific. The integration between both titles expanded the weapon pool, and there are now more options than ever to choose from. Light machine guns, such as the MG42, are powerful primary options. After all, the Bren has been the long range meta since it was added to the battle royale. With the best attachments, you can build an MG42 class that can take over Warzone Pacific. Already, the MG42 has a strong fire rate, which is a desirable characteristic for a light machine gun. As the MG42 does have some recoil, this class will focus on improving the accuracy of the weapon, allowing you to take advantage of the fast firing gun.   Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific MG42 class Muzzle: Mercury Silencer Barrel: VDD 680mm 31M Stock: Krausnick S91MG Underbarrel: M1941 Hand Stop Magazine: 6.5 Sakura 125 Round Drums Ammunition: Lengthened Rear Grip: Polymer Grip Perk 1: Tight Grip Perk 2: Fully Loaded Optic: M38/ Slate 2.5x ...

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel SteamOn Tuesday, January 18, Konami surprised everyone by releasing the highly anticipated Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel out of nowhere on Steam. However, while the game was available to pre-download, the servers were still under maintenance at the time. Then, Konami revealed their other face down card as the servers went live on Wednesday, January 19, and duelists around the world were able to begin playing. Taking heavy cues from Magic: The Gathering Arena, Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is the first ever full simulator game for the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game. Instead of being a standalone game release (or whatever the heck The Duelists of the Roses was), Master Duel is a full-on simulation of the real life card game meant to represent real gameplay as accurately as possible.   Fans of the game have been asking for something like this for a while, and in the age of games like the aforementioned Arena and Legends of Runeterra, now is the perfect time. The game can also be played in 4K if available...

Warzone Pacific Gold Camo ChangeWith the launch of every Call of Duty title comes new camos for fans to work towards. Call of Duty: Vanguard is no different ,and there are Gold, Diamond, and Atomic mastery camos to work towards. This year, the grind has been particularly frustrating to some players as camo progress was bugged for a handful of guns. When Warzone Pacific launched, the Vanguard mastery camos made their way into the battle royale. As a result, you can show off your hard work in Caldera and Rebirth Island. Following the Season One mid-season update, however, it appears that the way the Gold camo looks in Warzone Pacific has changed. The Call of Duty content creator known as JGOD shared a video which compares each mastery camo before and after the recent update. There appears to be no problems with the Diamond and Atomic camos, as they look the same. However, the pattern that made the Gold camo unique appears to have been removed. It has instead been replaced with a matte black design with only a hint o...

Wwe 2k22 Cover Star Rey MysterioA new trailer posted on the official WWE YouTube channel has revealed several details regarding the upcoming WWE game. WWE 2K22 is the next installment, and will feature none other than Rey Mysterio as the cover star. In addition to this, we now know that WWE 2K22 will launch on Steam on March 11. Rey Mysterio is a legendary wrestler who made his WWE debut way back in 2002. Some of his largest achievements include winning three cruiserweight Championships, two World Heavyweight Championships, and the 2006 Royal Rumble. He returned to the WWE lineup in 2018 after falling out of favor several years prior. After his decline earlier in the decade, a turnaround of this magnitude was unlikely, but he pulled it off.   Its cover star wasn't all we found out about WWE 2K22, though. The game features a new career mode titled MyRise. Seemingly borrowing inspiration from NBA 2K's MyCareer, MyRise is a story-driven campaign where players forge their path to superstardom.
