On November 3, 2023 at 12am Japan Time, Studio Ghibli shut down its official Twitter account. Studio Ghibli's official account was opened three years ago in order to promote the release of Hayao Miyazaki's latest film The Boy and the Heron, known as How Do You Live in Japan.
In their social media post that is now deleted alongside the account's termination, Studio Ghibli thanked everybody who followed and supported the account over the last three years. The team also stated that The Boy and the Heron's promotion will continue throughout the end of 2023 and into the New Year.
The now deleted Tweet stated the following [Thanks, Anime News Network!]:
On September 21, 2023, in a joint announcement it was announced that Nippon TV would be purchasing Studio Ghibli and turning it into a subsidiary of the broadcast network. The decision for the animation studio to be acquired by Nippon TV was made after Studio Ghibli was unable to make a succession plan. Studio Ghibli has worked in close relation with Nippon TV for decades, premiering the television broadcast of their films on Nippon TV's networks.
Studio Ghibli recently released The Boy and the Heron in Japan on July 14, 2023. GKIDS is distributing The Boy and the Heron in the United States.
The film follows a young boy named Mahito who misses his dead mother and finds himself in a world shared by the living and the dead. Once there, he gains new insight into death, life, and friendship. The film's musical score has been composed by Joe Hisaishi, and the theme song "Spinning Globe" is penned and performed by J-pop superstar Kenshi Yonezu.
The Boy and the Heron will release in North American theaters and IMAX on December 8, 2023.

Square Enix opened pre-orders for Star Ocean The Second Story R acrylic stands on its Japanese web store, and the lineup will feature thirteen key characters from the RPG title. The company will release and ship the merchandise in early February 2024.
Here is the full list of all thirteen Star Ocean The Second Story R characters who will have their acrylic stands available for sale:
Each set will be available individually at 1,540 yen (~$10.25). A pack will contain a large stand of the character's full artwork, a smaller stand of the chibi pixel art, and a base with the character's name and slots for both stands.

Star Ocean The Second Story R is a remake of the RPG that originally appeared on the PlayStation in 1998. It also features some elements from the Star Ocean: Second Evolution remaster that appeared on the PSP, Vita, PS4, and PS3. While The Second Story R also features English voiceovers, the Japanese voice option has multiple settings that let the player mix the cast between the PlayStation and PSP versions.
Star Ocean The Second Story R is now available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The acrylic stands featuring thirteen of the Star Ocean The Second Story R characters will be available on February 3, 2024.

Square Enix has been showing off various comparison shots between the original Final Fantasy VII, released on PlayStation in 1997, and 2024's Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Their latest screenshot shows how the Mog House has evolved in the PlayStation 5 reimagining.
The Mog House in the original release of Final Fantasy VII was a tree with a giant red mushroom cap. On the house's exterior were two windows and a sign that said "MOG" in bold yellow lettering. The iconic location was also surrounded by pink, blue, and yellow flowers.
The new version of the Mog House found in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has a similar design but features way more detail and is surrounded by fewer flowers. In the remake, the makeshift house is now surrounded by more mushrooms and trees of varying heights. The Moogles that appear at the Mog House have also been redesigned to match their appearance in FFVII Rebirth.
Square Enix has made other comparisons for iconic locations, redesigned enemies, and key details in FFVII Rebirth. Screenshots they have shared so far include the Buggy, the Parade scene in Junon, the Bottomswell battle, and various iconic moments in the game.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will come to the PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024. Exclusivity on the Sony platform is set to end on May 29, 2024. FFVII Remake is available now to play on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Lotte revealed a collaboration between its Koala March snack brand and Attack on Titan. It will release boxes of snacks with exclusive Attack on Titan designs to help celebrate the anime's 10th anniversary.
The box will include ten snack packages, each featuring a key Attack on Titan character. The ten characters set to appear here will be Eren Yeager, Mikasa Ackerman, Armin Arlert, Jean Kirstein, Sasha Blouse, Historia Reiss, Connie Springer, Levi Ackerman, Erwin Smith, and Hans a.k.a. Hange Zoe. Each package will also feature the snack's mascot koala getting dressed up as Eren Yeager and the Colossal Titan.
Pre-orders for the Attack on Titan Koala March box will open on the Lotte Online Shop on Monday, November 6, 2023, at noon JST. The set will be available at ￥3,880 (~$26), and a person can order up to two boxes simultaneously. Lotte will close pre-orders on November 19, 2023, or earlier if it has reached the limit of 1,500 boxes. It will start shipping the finished products in mid-December 2023.
This merchandise is part of the Attack on Titan anime's 10th anniversary project. Kodansha is preparing multiple events to celebrate the major anniversary of the anime adaptation of Hajime Isayama's manga that first appeared in April 2013. The anime series will conclude soon with Part 4 of the final season set to air in Japan on November 4, 2023.

Gameloft announced plans to release Disney Dreamlight Valley Arcade Edition on Apple Arcade on December 5, 2023, the same day the game is leaving Early Access on other consoles. It will be available on devices in the Apple Arcade ecosystem, which includes iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac.
Disney Dreamlight Valley Arcade Edition will be optimized for use on touch screens and give players access to the base game and the newest expansion called A Rift in Time. The Arcade Edition will receive all of the latest story updates, but due to Apple's restrictions, there will not be seasonal Star Paths or the Premium Shop for players who play it.
The game will not allow cross-save with platforms outside of the Apple Arcade ecosystem, meaning players can only transfer saves to other Apple Arcade devices. Gameloft also clarified on their support website that the Apple Arcade Mac version of the game is different from the Mac version that can be purchased on the App Store, so cross-save will not be supported between the two versions of Disney Dreamlight Valley.
A new multiplayer mode was just announced by Gameloft and is also set to release the same day as the Apple Arcade version of the game, allowing up to three friends to visit another person's Valley. Cross-play is supported across Apple Arcade, PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch and Xbox. It will not be available for PlayStation consoles.
Gameloft also recently revealed details about their new expansion A Rift in Time during the Disney Dreamlight Valley Showcase. That will introduce Eternity Isle, a new world which will feature three biomes--Ancient's Landing, the Glittering Dunes, and the Wild Tangle--to explore. It will bring new Disney characters to the Valley like Rapunzel, Gaston, and EVE. It is set to release on December 5, 2023.
In Spring 2024, the developer will introduce a new storyline called "A Spark of Imagination" in Ancient's Landing and a new "lucky" character will be appear in the game. Summer 2024 will round out the expansion with "Treasures of Time," featuring Jafar as the primary villain of Disney Dreamlight Valley's story.
A Rift in Time will cost $29.99 USD on PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Apple Arcade subscribers will automatically have access to the new expansion at launch without paying an additional fee.
Additional free content will be available throughout 2023 and 2024 without the need to purchase A Rift in Time, including Jack Skellington, Mike Wazowski, Tiana, and more.

New editions of Disney Dreamlight Valley will be released alongside the full launch. For the full release, there will be a standard digital edition, plus a Gold Edition with additional perks. The Cozy Edition, a physical version of the game, will also be released ahead of the full launch on November 10, 2023.
Disney Dreamlight Valley will leave Early Access on December 5, 2023. It will be available for iOS via Apple Arcade, PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
