Welcome to the Week in Review
Welcome
While the weather in the northern hemisphere may signal a turn toward slower, cooler, even sleepier times, it’s the polar (get it?) opposite in the tech world.

Apple pulled off a surprising late-evening Apple silicon launch this week, bringing us ‘Scary Fast’ M3 chips and a bunch of new MacBook Pros running on them. It’s the first time Apple has launched three Apple silicon tiers at once (M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max), and it tried to make the most of it with a pre-taped presentation that had enough fog to fill a classic horror movie but lacked all the jump scares. One thing it did leave us wondering though: did Apple really film all that with an iPhone 15 Pro?

If it did, then maybe you should keep our eyes open for a good iPhone Black Friday deal. Oh, you didn’t hear? When October ends, the deals officially begin – Black Friday shopping is a month-long event these days. At least TechRadar has all of your deal info covered.

As you shop, you might notice that some of us here are working overtime to come up with the best possible buying advice for every gadget you might want, and if that means wearing two smartwatches at once, so be it – you’ll find out how the watches, and I, got on in the story linked below. And don't miss the article that’s almost made me an ambient TV lighting believer (maybe).

The other great thing about this season, besides all the fun gadget and tech news, is the wealth of fresh streaming content that’s either available to watch now or is being teased in trailers (Ryan Gosling as a stuntman? Yes!). I also realize that I need to find out what all the fuss is about regarding Invincible – I wonder if it’s about an intrepid team of tech editors?
